<p>Every time a new beta version is released, I start a new game to see if an issue that absolutely bugs me has been fixed. </p><p> </p><p> It has not.</p><p> </p><p> That issue?</p><p> </p><p> The navigation of the avatar and company select screens. Still can't deselect "enable new style lists" and revert back to arrow navigation as available elsewhere in the game. It's maddening.</p><p> </p><p> As for the whiteboard: It's handy to have it there. It is too wide, however, taking up a large area of the screen. And I can see why some are arguing that it's too "bright". I just turn down my screen brightness or have "night mode" on my computer, but for some neither of those might be solutions. For them a possible solution would be to give the option to invert colors. If that's not possible in VB6, then making it more silvery in tone would possibly help.</p><p> </p><p> I would like to see it resized a bit. Less wide.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="French Connection" data-cite="French Connection" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47578" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I really think something has to be done with the contracts. <p> I don't understand to sign a written contract with an exclusivity clause if anyone can go over it!</p><p> </p><p> I tested a real world mod, and I got Moxley to sign with WWE because I did not notice the difference between "Written" and "Exclusive Written". </p><p> </p><p> Also, in some sports, if a company decides to bid above your worker's contract, they have to pay you the contact's value in exchange. </p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Wait...are you stating that you stole Moxely even though he was under a exclusive written contract? That shouldn't happen. Unless that contract was about to end and was in the negotiation window of time, in which case anyone could start bidding for his services.</p><p> </p><p> If not...then that's a problem.</p><p> </p><p> I will piggyback on the exclusive written contract bit and state that it would be nice in a future TEW game if law suits would arise for contract tampering. </p><p> </p><p> Oh, and I think I suggested this when the game was in development, but it would be really great if exclusive contracts could be set on a "worldwide" basis, "per area" basis, and even have options for choosing which type of companies your company would allow a worker to work for when not booked on one of your company's shows. </p><p> </p><p> This could have loads of permutations: </p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>Your company would be able to have a worker under an exclusive written contract:<br /> <br /></li><li>but only in the US, allowing them to sign for other companies outside of the US.<br /> <br /></li><li>but only blocking companies of the relatively the same size as your company (accounting for one size up and one size down, hence "relatively") from signing him to handshake deals.<br /> <br /></li><li>but allow companies with whom you have relationships with to sign them for "off nights" from your company.<br /></li></ul><p></p>

<p>I'm only bringing this up because someone else did, so keep comments about repeating to a minimum please:</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="infinitywpi" data-cite="infinitywpi" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47578" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Okay, I've been thinking about the whole Product thing for a while now, and I think I've managed to articulate my feelings on it. So here goes.<p> </p><p> This is a sandbox, so you should be able to set your company's product however you like. However, it is also a simulation, so setting your product to be Sexy Naked Barbed-Wire Deathmatches should result in a quick descent into bankruptcy and game over.</p><p> </p><p> Or in other words: Not all products are going to be viable because there's no (or not a big enough) audience for them. Audiences want certain things, and doing things like "It's WWE but with the comedy slider moved down" isn't going to really distinguish them much -- it's still Sports Entertainment. The pre-made products cover everything viable, and some that -might- be viable, given the audience of the world. Anything else won't work. </p><p> </p><p> So as much as a Hyper-Realistic Lucha Comedy company sounds interesting, in practice it's such an unworkable product that it just doesn't exist. And if it was allowed to exist, we'd have countless threads of "Why doesn't my product get anyone coming to events/watching shows/go bankrupt so fast?"</p><p> Sometimes, sandboxes need limits.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Here's the thing:</p><p> </p><p> In mods, one can pretty much create a "desired" game world ("desired" for the purposes of the mod), no matter if that creation would be feasible irl. </p><p> </p><p> Such a game world could indeed have the trends for wrestling products that <em>would</em> make "Sexy Naked Barbed-Wire Deathmatches" or "Hyper-Realistic Lucha Comedy" financially feasible if not highly successful. </p><p> </p><p> Moreover, even if they wouldn't be successful and would be assured failures...so what? The past is littered with pro wrestling product ideas that never really caught fire and died quickly. That's happened before, it will happen again. </p><p> </p><p> If this is supposed to be a simulation, then simulating the failures as well as the successes (however minor or major either are) should be part of the package.</p>

I like what I see so far, especially with Zen (being that is my favorite promotion; hence the short lived thread I did on them with the art - so many, many years ago). Really enjoy the work done on the various workers.

Excellent job.

In general I really like 2020, it took me awhile to get used to the new layout like everyone else.

I still feel the main companies page is too cluttered particularly on the right side but ultimately this is a good game full of many (if not too many) features, probably the best version of the game so far.

The support the game has received in fix's and updates so far make me confident purchasing this game won't be a mistake.

My only real complaint outside of that is the inability to edit certain things we could previously such as products & hiatus's, both things I hope will be put right in the future.

Hahaha for some reason at work the other week I organised a Microsoft Teams meeting with a mate in another state so I could show him my screen to show him Rimworld and I ended up starting off showing him TEW2016, or “my wrestling game that I keep crapping on about”.

His first response was “so you don’t actually watch the matches?”... good grief.

I mean.. if this game was like Football Manager... I'd be in heaven. Could you imagine the matches going on and having to change things on the fly depending on crowd reactions, injuries, etc? Would be absolutely amazing. Even if the matches started as two yellow dots in a ring with some information around.

My wife saw my spreadsheet of storyline plans 3 months in advance, with my entire roster, heel/face divide and title holders. One night she typed into it saying something along the lines of 'I wish you put this much time and planning into your family life....'

Talk about low blows.

You should write underneath it for the next time she logs in "sorry this actually excites me."

Two days past the original release date and the issues fixed in each patch have already started dwindling down to a few rare crashes and glitches and a couple nitpickey changes to how the game works. I'm not seeing anything happening here that we needed a delay for. I hope we get some communication soon about what changes are coming that made a two week delay necessary, because if this is it then the game should be out already.

<p>Wow, I've been playing this series from the start (since EWR). Development to 2008, 2016 has been great. I really liked the interface. </p><p> </p><p>

I also have bought Wrestling Spirit, WWMA, etc. </p><p> </p><p>

First impression of TEW2020 is that the "bloated" interface of WWMA was now imported in TEW. Not sure, maybe a thing of getting used to....not a fan of this.</p><p> </p><p>

The database in Europe also seems to be just stagnating. Cornellverse is probably more oriented in the other regions, but MODs will be fun again.</p>

I could understand if the product settings are not negotiable due to programming or whatever... if that is the case then I'm sure I can find a way to do what I want anyway. Already since changing to the drop boxes and taking away colors and the subsequent updates I am at peace with the look of the game. I am using the black and gold skin though. It took a real word mod for me to fully grasp the game so far, as it always does. I've never been knowledgeable on the Cornelleverse or had a game that went very long with it. So far the game feels slower but that is likely due to not being a pro at this version yet. Very excited and ready to let loose.

Yeah and I very much appreciate that, but before the original release date those patches were packed with necessary fixes. Two days after the game should have come out and the well of serious, gamebreaking problems that affect everybody is rapidly drying up. Nothing in the last two patches was anything that should have delayed a release. If all we're getting for the next two days is daily tweaks and a few fixes for crashes that most people never experience, then I'd say this delay was a panicked, rash decision based on a bunch of forum whining from people who had wildly idiotic expectations of what the game should be, despite the dev diaries clearly spelling out most of the non-UI gripes before the beta ever came out.

I know I've seen RTE 3265 come up in the patch notes a few times. I'm currently testing out the Beta and I am playing as NYCW. I went to run my first Event (they have one on the second Sat of every month), and after finishing setting up the booking, I went to start the show. Every single time I go to start though, the game hits me with the RTE 3265. I don't know if this is one of the known issues of the current beta, but wanted to make sure to mention it just in case.

I don't know what factor would actually be causing it. I will say that I added a small women's division to the company (8 women), I'm playing as Kate Avatar, I had the NYCW Empire, Tri-State, and Tag Titles all on the line for the show. I also am running a 4-woman tournament to crown the inaugural Women's Champion (4-woman since the beta only lets you do 2 months, so only able to do a semi-final and final for a company that does once a month shows).

Again, I don't know if this is a known issue already, but it didn't look like one in the patch notes, so I wanted to make sure to get it out there.

Just as a heads-up, there's a tech support forum for bug reports - I know Adam reads all threads there so it may be a good idea to post your issue there as well in case it gets lost in this thread.

I'm in favour of giving us the ability to tweak products so don't take this as a condemnation of your overall point but I think one can make the argument that a product being an assured failure, not catching fire and dying quickly can already be effectively stimulated by how you book a company regardless of its product. If I want to do the aforementioned "Sexy Naked Barbed-Wire Deathmatch" company then I could do one with a Risque Adult product and take the lumps from all the dangerous and bloody matches being penalised or one of the Deathmatch products with the eye candy/sex appeal stuff being capped/penalised; if we're simulating failure then then booking matches, characters and angles that upset my fans (whichever way it goes) does exactly that.

My counter to this is, why have products at all then? This feature was originally designed to add a level of realism by allowing you to pick and choose how you wanted to book, and to what fanbase. My first idea for a long save was Vibert IPW, but I quickly learned that there is no viable product for what I wanted to do with it. Closest is probably Classic Wild West, but that penalizes too many things way too much. So I dropped it. The obvious choice would be Hardcore Evolved, but that's a 95% 5% match to angle fed model that would dump on every angle and promo. The various shoot-style options are even worse This was exactly what I feared when he revealed this "feature" everything is Adam's interpretation of what these things are. And that's a huge regression.
