I would say it seems like ages since you've been on here but I've been absent plenty too so perhaps we've just missed each other! I still mourn your WWE diary. Loved the show mate!! MEM makes a ton of sense, as there's a stacked old Main Event scene at the top of RAW. Almost too many great workers. I wonder though, with the new mechanics of the game, and no pushes, shouldn't the group be called the 'Major Star Mafia'?! That was my main thinking really, it started out just looking for anything for them to do but now it's developed in my plans and I'm excited for them. Perhaps you're right. Damn TNA for not considering the changes in TEW 2020! If they did then maybe Idolized would have made a MSM logo instead. Prediction Contest Results! christmas_ape Posted April 28, 2020 Author Share Posted April 28, 2020 Feeling sympathy for a lot of talents. Rod Sullivan and The Titans, poor guys. Even Kal and Kian a bit. Loving the over the top characters! I like that Swoop is kind of above everything and plays to the camera and stuff. Very unique. I love the name mixup being played into the show, brilliant. I'm also a big fan of the petty squabbles people seem to be getting in. Someone being banned from a family BBQ is not a storyline I've ever seen in wrestling before, but it works and the fact they're brothers makes it particularly suitable. Enjoyed the Croft/Mac segment too, thought it was going one way but it swerved the other. Looking forward to the follow up. The final segment felt big too, and takes things in an interesting direction. Frogue and Swoop potentially working together and those three do have a Main Event feel about them. I think the name fits them well. It was definitely a bad day for Rod! Part of likes making some of the heels sympathetic, definitely the younger ones like Kian, and maybe some of the LiberTeens. Part of me wants the LiberTeens to just be absolutely detestable and have no redeeming qualities. But I also like the idea that their sort of trapped/coerced in band. I just have to be careful not to do it too much as in my mind the face/heel divide in RAW is as strong as anywhere. But yeah petty squabbles seem to be the base of a few of these storylines! I like small rosters normally but with me only focusing on the 2nd hour of RAW it's allowing me to flesh out characters when I see fit rather than everyone at once. 20LEgend Posted May 3, 2020 Share Posted May 3, 2020 Really good show, enjoyed that segment with Swoop's potential partners in particular. Intertwined some stuff together and put over characters too. Everybody feels unique on this roster, which is great. Frogue wanting no part of fighting M.E.M was good, and Swoop's response furthers him being a sort of character "above" the show if you get what I mean. Loved that whole segment. You continue to make me feel sorry for heels, haha... "Used up all his savings to pay for the one way 1st class ticket to Milan. Is planning on getting his wardrobe flown over once he’s set up in his Milan pad." Poor guy so much hope, was never going to end well. Uncle Ray is an awful man, but another great segment. That's good, part of me questioned whether Big Mac isn't a bit of an asshole here, after all Croft may not win father of the year, but you know he is paying the child support... for all we know he's not done anything that wrong. But like you say my idea was that Croft started this whole digging up secrets thing, this was just Big Mac responding eye for eye style. Either way the story is just getting going! It's definitely plenty tongue-in-cheek, I know sometimes that's gonna end up being hit or miss. If you have lots of wacky characters and weird situations every so often one is just going to either be a bad idea, or be written bad and just not work. But RAW i'd prefer to just go with that, and be as unique a product as possible. So spoilers now if you haven't yet read episode 4 above! Prediction contest Portlius: 1/6 (although in your defense all your predictions made sense and I liked the JT idea) The Nickman: 3/6 TheLloyd: 3/6 Not surprised it was a lower scoring week. Lynx was definitely an upset. This was mostly because I want Tombstone free for a different story coming up that he doesn't need the title for. And I'm also not surprised nobody picked the RAW Giants. In a way it was out of the blue, but again it's a case of this booking decision being influenced by some future plans I have. I definitely did toy with the idea of giving them a bigger send off, but I also liked the idea behind that angle, with it being pretty much opposite to most dramatic tag team splits in wrestling.
