'Happy New Year!'

It's just struck midnight in the United Kingdom. Curtis Jenkins is spending the occasion the same way that every Briton over the age of 25 spends it: tiredly watching the London firework display on a television screen. The entire Jenkins family squeeze together on a modest couch, observing the fantastical colours. Curtis smiles over at his wife, Amanda.

Curtis: 'Happy New Year.'

And she smiles back.

Amanda: 'Happy New Year.'

The two share a kiss as their ten year old fidgets between them, enraptured still by the colours. Life is never really perfect, and for Curtis Jenkins there are certainly things that he wishes were different. But at the same time he wouldn't trade lives with anyone in the world.

Another twenty or so minutes pass, and after some tough negotiations, the kid is finally in bed. Curtis yawns as he returns to the living room, Amanda is fixing some tea in the cramped kitchen nearby.

Amanda: 'You coming to bed?'

Curtis smiles through fatigue, scratching the back of his head.

Curtis: 'I'll be in soon. I just need to take care of a few things before tomorrow.'

No further elaboration is required. Amanda gives her husband a kiss on the cheek before heading to bed, leaving Curtis to himself. He opens up his laptop, letting out a small sigh as he leans back in his chair and gives it the ten minutes it'll need to boot up.

At long last the piece of scrap sitting on his lap starts to operate. He brings up a word document which he has vastly neglected: so far the only thing written is 'CWW 2020 Targets'. He puffs out his cheeks in contemplation, not quite sure where to begin.

This whole situation was still weird for Curtis, truth be told. Never in his wildest dreams did he expect to be the owner of a wrestling promotion at this stage in his life. But then, life has an irritatingly delightful tendency to take you in the most bizarre directions. Hand-on-heart, if Curtis' life had gone to plan, Championship Wrestling from Wigan wouldn't exist.

But America didn't work out. London never gave him a call, and there was no way he was willing to do what those in Scotland wanted from him. And cab driving for the rest of his life certainly wasn't an option that interested him.

But entering its second year in business, things have gone surprisingly well for a compay short on experience. Ten thousand pounds in the bank is a modest but comfortable cushion, and assuming everything works out, things could get even better. But what does Curtis actually want to do?

Brring!

Well this is weird. Curtis raises an eyebrow, taking a look at his phone. It can't be British Samurai or Jonni Leyland, the other two members of the booking committee - he has their numbers saved. This number is... different.

He lets out a sigh, answering the call and bringing the phone to his ear. Knowing his luck it's the owner of the Wigan Atheltic Club (CWW's venue of choice) calling to let him know that he can't hold Championship Showdown II there.

Curtis: 'Hello?'

???: 'Hello, Curtis.'

Curtis' eyes widen, this isn't some venue owner.

This is Jeff Nova, King of 21st Century Wrestling and, as a consequence, all of professional wrestling in Britain.

Jeff: 'Curtis?'

Curtis shakes his head, a small bead of sweat running down his forehead.

Curtis: 'Uhh, hello, Mr Nova.'

Jeff chuckles down the line.

Jeff: 'No need for the formalities, just call me Jeff.'

Curtis: 'Right.'

An uneasy silence hangs.

Jeff: 'So, have a good New Year's?'

Curtis: 'Yeah... and yourself?'

Jeff: 'Very good, thank you. Apologies for calling at such a ghastly hour, but I wanted to congratulate you and your company on a successful 2019!'

Curtis bites his lip - this doesn't feel right.

Curtis: 'Thanks, Jeff. Congratulations to you as well.'

Nova chuckles once more, everything about his tone suggests that this conversation really is just an innocent recognition of achievement between two men in similar positions. On different scales, at least.

Jeff: 'So, 2020, eh? Any big plans for Championship Wrestling from Wigan? Gonna make it a good'un?'

Curtis: 'That's... the plan.'

A brief pause.

Jeff: 'That's actually why I'm calling, Curtis.'

Suddenly, Jeff's voice isn't so warm anymore. As he continues to talk it grows clinical, cold and callous.

Jeff: 'What exactly are your ambitions, Curtis?'

Curtis pauses for a few seconds, trying to find the right words.

Curtis: 'Nothing too grand, Jeff. Before anything else I just want to offer an alternative.'

Jeff: 'An alternative to 21st Century Wrestling?'

Curtis: '...Yes.'

Jeff: 'And what exactly is wrong with my company, Mr Jenkins?'

Curtis' heart begins to pound, threatening to burst out of his chest, such is the violence of its speed. There's yet another an uneasy pause, and then...

Nova laughs.

Jeff: 'Relax Curtis! I'm just busting your balls.'

Curtis forces himself to laugh along.

Jeff: 'Just be careful. I don't see a reason why we have to be enemies...'

Nova allows his words to hang tantilising, before following up.

Jeff: 'So long as you know your place.'

Despite the futility in resistance, Curtis clenches a fist in frustration.

Jeff: 'Have a good year, Curits.'

The calls comes to an abrupt end. Curtis leans back in his chair, running a hand over his face. The scene fades.

Do you ever, like, have an idea for something you want to do. And then you do it and then you decide that actually, no, you don't want to do that thing anymore? That's kinda how I feel about writing sometimes, so please excuse the huge gap in time between these posts.

I've decided that instead of writing stuff in-character I'm gonna pursue this as more of an OOC deal where I take you through my thinking and logic behind decisions such as booking/scouting/etc. This style I think puts way less pressure on me and will hopefuly result in my first dynasty that doesn't die a tragic death within a couple weeks. Cool? Cool.

I'm going to try to make this as pretty as possible using the forums' limited options, but uploading pictures to this website is far too much hassle for it to be worth it. Like the inability to just upload from your computer directly is so very inconvenient, but I'm straying off-topic. Let's get to know our company and some of its key players, yes?

CWW - Company Information

UK-based Championship Wrestling from Wigan (CWW) is a very young promotion, and is also the lowest ranked in the CVerse database. From a certain perspective you could perhaps argue that it is the most difficult start possible (unless you're creating your own company or something like that), as there are numerous challenges for CWW.

First, you're pretty low on funds since CWW only has around £8114 in the bank (I will NEVER use dollars). You are at the very lowest rung of the ladder in terms of pretty much everything, such as Prestige, Momentum & Pop. The third and most significant problem, however, is that 21CW exist.

For those unaware, the British wrestling scene in the CVerse is utterly dominated under the ruthless rule of 21st Century Wrestling, a staunchly Sports-Entertainment based company with seemingly infinite amounts of money, national exposure on a weekly basis and objectively one of the most talented rosters in the game. They have BOTH Cornells, for God's sake. The other two companies are Scottish National Promotions, a hardcore trash wrestling company located somewhere in Scotland. And then there's us, CWW.

A fun bit of background, Curtis Jenkins (the owner of CWW and the person we'll be using as our UC) literally created this company in response to not getting hired by 21CW, CWW's existence is essentially a middle-finger to the UK's #1 player, and that is reflected in their product being COMPLETELY opposite to 21CW's.

CWW's Product

Right then, let's quickly go over what matters for how this company structures its shows. Fans expect all Events to be 100% matches, and those matches will be rated on a ratio of 65:35 In-Ring Action to Pop. This means that popularity only accounts for 35% of a match rating with us, which is quite nice since none of our wrestlers are going to have pop anyway. These matches also need to be at least 20 minutes to reach high ratings, and they cannot be controversial or overly dangerous. They should always have clean finishes.

This is actually where my first action of the game is going to come in. Now, I don't generally like changing a company's product IMMEDIATELY, but I'm honestly okay with it here because of the fact that I'm changing it to a product that is in almost every single way identical. Currently we use Wrestling As A Sport, I'm gonna switch to Respectful Wrestling. The latter is, again, almost identical, but with one key difference: it utilises gimmicks. Wrestling As A Sport does not use gimmicks at all, Respectful Wrestling doesn't require them BUT will apply gimmick effects if you choose to use them. I aim to stick with the pure-wrestling spirit of CWW, but I absolutely want to be able to have gimmicks involved.

With that done let's take a quick whistle-stop tour of our roster.

CWW Roster

We've got three Major Stars, but one is a Road Agent. So we've got two Major Stars. They are:

Curtis Jenkins - Our UC, owner of the company, most popular wrestler. Very good Psych and Technical, which are important stats for us.
Lenny Mochin - The current CWW Champion. He'd be lower mid-card in a company that required any sort of mic ability, but he's got good Psych and good Technical, so top star for us. Gotta love it.

For Stars we have:

Jon Michael Sharp - Psych. Selling. Flashiness. One half of the creatively named Sharp & Heath tag team with Martin Heath. Also far too good to be in our tag division.
Martin Heath - Honestly same as his partner.
Padraig O'Hearne - A good Brawler with Psych. And finally, someone on the roster who has Charisma.

Well-Known members of the roster consist of:

Gavin Owen - One of the Judo Bois. Psych is pretty average but he's a good Technical worker.
Glen Ward - The other Judo Boi. Also pretty good at Technical wrestling without the Psych to back it up.
Grant Taypen - One half of the CWW Tag Team Champions, don't really know why because neither he nor his partner are very good. Oh well.
JK Lee - One of our best workers with great Technical and Psych.
Jonni Leyland - There to make up the numbers.
Leighton Buzzard - See Grant Taypen.
Neil Warburton - Current CWW Submission Champion. Technical. Poor Psych. Feel like I'm repeating myself tbh.

We don't have any Recognisable workers, and our Unimportant workers aren't important enough to go over individually. Let's quickly go over the titles here in CWW, then I'll cover a few people I'm looking to sign, then I'll wrap up this first part.

CWW Titles

We've got four honours that wrestlers can win.

First is the CWW Championship, our top title that is open to every worker. Rather embarrassingly its bio bangs on about it being a classic old-school style belt and the default CV image for it is a rip-off of the WWE spinner belt, but without the WWE logo.

Next is the CWW King of the North Tournament, an annual tournament held every March. This tournament apparently wins you a super generic looking belt.

And then there's the CWW Submission Championship, which is a pretty interesting belt because it can only be won via sub- WAIT. Its picture is identical to the CWW King of the North belt! Crazy.

Finally you've got the CWW Tag Team Championship, which is the only belt that looks like any effort was put into finding a pic that matches its description. That's what I would say, at least, if the belt didn't have a mess of barbed wire across the main plate for this pure, clean, wrestlling-as-a-sport company belt.

Signings!

I don't want to disrupt the balance too much, at least not in the first few months. There's a very clear profile of the type of wrestler CWW employs and I intend on sticking to that as much as possible.

Firstly we're picking up Merle O'Curle. The 42 year old Irishman is an INCREDIBLY talented worker who I'm quite sad to say never got a real run in a top company (he was in 21CW for a couple years but that was before they became a top company). His Psych is around 90 (I'm using Scouting mode so none of this will be totally precise), Technical is around 80. Those two stats alone are enough to pull off some great matches for us. And he can be ours for just... let me convert this real quick... £164 per show!

Don Henderson is another very talented Technical worker with great Psych, he's essentially a less-good but younger version of Merle.

Bryn Archer, Gazz Vedmore, Mickey Robson and Aurelian Bradley, who are all young workers who fit into our CWW style. I'll be looking to develop them in the future.

Finally, I'm going to go through a few house rules and general goals for this save before ending this update.

Rules/Goals!

Best of British Wrestling: CWW was opened because Curtis Jenkins, a talented (well, kinda) British wrestler was denied any realistic opportunity at actually wrestling. Nobody else should have to go through this fate, and so CWW should develop into a place that showcases the very best of British wrestling, and helps to develop generations of Brit workers. To do this:

75% of competitors on every show must be British.
A long-term goal is going to be to set up a Dojo and, eventually, a Performance Centre.
We do not fire people for simply not being good enough. It's our job to improve them until they ARE good enough.

Kill 21CW: I feel like this is pretty self-explanatory. I want Jeff Nova's head on a stick. Which is on fire. And then sent rocketing into the moon.

Puro Roots: I want to get some Working Agreements going with companies in Japan, and possibly reach an agreement to take their workers on Excursion. At the moment that sort of offer will get us laughed out of the room, but we'll get there.

Stable Warfare: Stables are probably one of my favourite new additions in TEW20, and I want to truly make use of them in CWW. I'll be slowly transitioning the company to the point where stables are Integral, where most workers are affiliated with one group or another.

National Relations and The War on 21CW

I'm about to do something incredibly stupid, something that nobody should really do. But first, I'm going to talk a bit about our whole 'beat 21CW' goal for this game, and the critera I'm going to be using to determine when we 'win'. We will 'beat' 21CW when we:

Have higher Pop.
Have more money.
Are higher ranked in the Company Leaderboards.
Comfortably beat them in the National Battles.
And when the CWW Championship is more prestigious than 21CW's main title.

I'd also like to straight up buy the company but I'm not going to list that because to a fairly large extent that option is entirely out of my hands. Like I'd have to just hope that 21CW enter some sort of economic woe, somehow. Regardless, we have a long way to go. So, remember that stupid thing I said I was going to do?

I'm declaring war on 21CW.

Okay so this isn't advised but I want to make my life a little bit harder. 21CW could easily sign my entire roster 1491510358195810 times over but I think we'll be okay.

In other news, we have a show to book.

Championship Showdown II

I won't be doing dedicated write-ups for each show, but this is Championship Showdown, which is essentially CWW's biggest show. Bit messed up starting the game with our WM/K-equivalent but oh well. I think for the format I'm going to do this by going through each match I book, talking about and justifying my decisions EXCEPT I won't mention the winners. At the end of this update I will then leave the full card so that people can predict. Next update we'll go through the results, ratings, etc.

Just before we get into booking, Padraig O'Hearne organised a poker tournament backstage. And honestly thank God, I was worried about my rating dipping below 90%.

Oh actually another quick note: for full transparency, I play with pretty much every Preference turned on except for Crowd Management.

I generally book top-down, so let's start with our main event. Championship Showdown II is going to be headlined by Curtis Jenkins and Lenny Mochin, the latter defending his CWW Championship. This is a pretty obvious call - these are our two biggest stars and they're both very talented. The match will be 22 minutes because they've both got the stamina for a decently long match, and we'll be adding Slow Build to alleviate any potential fatigue. The match will be Called In-Ring to capitalise on both men's good Psychology, it'll also be Open because they're evenly matched. Decisive finish because our fans deserve nothing less. Finally, the match aim will be Technical Masterclass, because both men have very good Technical ability.

That's the main event sorted, we also need to get our other two titles on the card. Neil Warburton will defend his Submission Championship against JK Lee. I picked Lee because he has that magic combo of Psychology and Technical ability. 21 minutes for these two and honestly their match is going to be pretty much identical to the main event in terms of the Road Agent notes. For that reason I'm gonna have this open the card. Just to be kinda realistic to how I'd structure the show if it really happened.

Next up, tag belts. Our tag division isn't spectacularly talented so I'm just going to put our champs up against the best team and call it a day. So it'll be Sharp & Heath challenging against Taypen & Buzzard. 20 minutes which is the shortest I can go whilst still avoiding a penalty, so hopefully their Stamina holds up. I'm not confident on Taypen & Buzzard being talented enough to work a Slow Build or Call In-Ring, so we'll leave the match Scripted, Open and Decisive.

The final match of any real note will be the debuting Don Henderson taking on Glen Ward. It'll be 15 minutes, Open, Decisive and with a Steal The Show match aim, because we need one of those on every show.

I'm going to throw in some matches between our younger workers. One thing to note: we are probably going to lose money on this show. That's okay, this is our big major event so I'm fine with spending more than usual just to make it a bit more special.

Hello lovelies. Apologies for the wait, I've had some writing deadlines recently so I've been a tad busy. I'm also currently locked in a vicious SWF brand-split save with a friend of mine - winning the ratings war the last four weeks in a row, might I add.

Before we jump into CWW Championship Showdown II, I want to give a quick shout-out to two lads. As you will have seen from my scathing tirade against the CWW Championship pictures, they're very much not satisfactory, but there has been some amazing work done in terms of graphics for CWW, including the belts.

First person is Munit, who made some fabulous designs for a CWW Greater Manchester, CWW National and CWW Tag Team belts.

And then the second person is Defizzle, who made all four of the canon CWW titles.

All of these designs are absolutely gorgeous and have been instantly added to my pictures folder. I know there's a decent few amount of people reading who are also CWW fans and would potentially play with them, so I figured I'd mention the great work done by Munit and Defizzle. Oh and on the off chance either of them see this - yous are heroes.

Right, let's run our show.

Championship Showdown II Results

We were live from Phoenix Nights for Championship Showdown II, drawing a herculean crowd of 74 fans, which is 26 less than 100.

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Neil Warburton defeated JK Lee in 20:57 by submission with a Texas Deathlock. Neil Warburton makes defence number two of the CWW Submission title. 41

That is a VERY nice way to open the show. For the record, JK Lee was actually the better performer of the two (38 to Warburton's 33). Anyway, why'd I have Neil retain? Let's phone a friend.

I'm 100% sure Neil will be a big deal in no time. Protect Neil at all costs.

Exactly that. Warburton is a well-established submission wrestler, very talented in his own right and also he's kinda one of CWW's own - he lives very close by, we are his first and only company of his career, etc.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Myles Cross, Jermaine Granger, Gavin Owen, Padraig O'Hearne and Jonni Leyland defeated Aurelian Bradley, Bryn Archer, Gazz Vedmore, Lynton Minehead and Mickey Robson in 20:12 when Padraig O'Hearne pinned Bryn Archer with a Crowning Glory. 30.

Not a particularly great match but it's still more than double our company pop. Those really familiar with the CVerse Brit & Euro scene will know that the winning team has quite a few of our more experienced and established guys (including CWW's canonical Head Booker!), so I was always going to give them the win.

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Don Henderson defeated Glen Ward in 14:53 by submission with a Scottish Deathlock. 38.

I'm very pleased with this rating because despite the match being below 20 minutes (and therefore penalised for length under CWW's product), Henderson is ludicrously good. Very impressive debut for him.

In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Sharp & Heath defeated Taypen & Buzzard in 19:48 when Martin Heath pinned Grant Taypen with a Flying Fist Drop. Sharp & Heath win the CWW Tag Team titles. 44 WAIT WHAT-

I'm kinda mad it's not even like Taypen & Buzzard got carried, they had the second and third best performances! SHARP WAS PENALISED FOR BEING OFF OF HIS GAME, and this match is still probably going to be MOTN.

In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Lenny Mochin defeated Curtis Jenkins in 21:42 by pinfall with an Eye Of The Storm. Lenny Mochin makes defence number three of the CWW Championship title. 47.

Nevermind! This match did even better than I'd hoped for tbh. Quick thing to note, you know how I said earlier on that I play without Crowd Management? Turns out I forgot to turn it off before running this show, so I noticed all of the Crowd Managementy notes and had a dreaded realisation - a Technical Masterclass is 100000% going to get penalised for being done to a hot crowd.

So I used the mid-show booking to quickly switch this to a Regular match. And it worked! Yay! That's a very helpful feature to be honest, especially for stuff like Crowd Management, so if something doesn't go to plan you can try to run damage-control instead of just watching as the wrong match aims destroy your show.

Anyway, time for some bad news.

OVERALL SHOW RATING: 35. :/

So the reason for our show rating being so low (lower than FOUR of our five match ratings) is that we got a lot of penalties for 'over-using' people. To be precise, Aurelian Bradley, Mickey Robson, Gazz Vedmore, Bryn Archer, Myles Cross, Jermaine Granger and Lynton Minehead were all used too much.

I don't particularly care about our show only getting a 35 because that's still something ridiculous like triple our current pop, but the fact that all of those guys were involved in a single 5-on-5 tag match yet were 'used too much' is a tad annoying. Oh well.

In my post-show speech I gave hugs to Lenny Mochin for being the other half of our MOTN, as well as both Taypen & Buzzard as an apology for slandering them. Clearly they are much better than I first thought.

Aftermath

Some may be wondering, considering how big a fan of him I am, where on Earth was Merle O'Curle? Well, he was working for VWA. Unfortunately Merle prioritises them over us (can't imagine why). Fortunately, January is the only month where we clash with the VWA. UNfortunately, January is when we hold Championship Showdown, our biggest show. I'm not sure how productive Merle's career will be for us if we don't resolve this situation somehow. I could just move Championship Showdown to be a week earlier, but I feel like moving an entire show for one wrestler looks a bit tinpot. What do we think?

Other January Highlights

Valiant raised some money for charity, awwh.
USPW's Star, Stripes and Slams was headlined by Rich Money defeating James Justice, and earned an 81 overall rating.
SWF's When Hell Freezes Over was a ridiculously impressive card featuring multiple 80+ matches, including the main event of Rocky Golden retaining his SWF Title against Scythe in an 89 rated match. Unfortunately they forgot that angles are a good 30% of their show rating and they pulled an 80 LOL.
TCW are too small a company for me to care about reporting on. All you need to know is Aaron Andrews is still carrying them.
Those smug bastards in London proved once again that 21CW is objectively the best company in this game by pulling an 89 rated show for Steel Cage Challenge. Edward Cornell defeated Tommy Cornell in a 97 rated match. Jesus Christ.
Corporal Doom passed away
Five people have entered wrestling. The only one who matters to us is a chap named Warren Newton, a graduate of WWA: UK. He's very green and scouting ranges mean it's impossible for me to really tell you what his stats are right now, but he seems to have very strong Entertainment skills. I've no doubt 21CW will steal him at some point, but we're gonna give him his first job!
And our final note, JK Lee has quit working for the SNP. Good lad.

Who are you to doubt Leighton Buzzard?

In my CWW save (first year done) Buzzard & Taypen are solid and extremely close to hitting 100 tag experience with them working both CWW (2 shows a month) and SNP. Buzzard is the star, though.

As for moving Championship Showdown for the sake of one worker... it's a bit game-y, but it hasn't stopped me from doing it in my 2016 saves. You have a year, so you might want to wait if he ends up leaving VWA or if someone else from your roster heads out there as well before making the decision.

Wrestlemania gets ocassionaly moved outside the 2-8 April period, so it would make sense, especially since its not that established, as this was only the 2nd edition of Championship Showdown. And since VWA is one of the few promotions you can share workers with, it would be a shame to put your eye on someone from their roster but not be able to book them because of this small problem.

Hi all! Thanks so much for the comments, let's get started on the latest update!

February

First I'll go through some of the news stories from around the world and then we'll do a quick recap of our show this month, CWW The Call To Arms!

Emma Chase won an award for Best Colour Commentator, invented a new catchphrase that is apparently RAKING IN t-shirt sales, and also won Best Manager. Pretty great month for her. Joanne Rodriguez, meanwhile, made a charity donation. Awwh.

SWF Nothing to Lose pulled an 83. Rocky over Brandon James in the main event got an 80, while Remo over Gilmore rated 90 and ZWB over Atom Smasher got a 92! Up north, CWA Clash Classic featured Cameron Vessey and Sean McFly wrestling a 91 main event... yet the show somehow got an overall rating of 69. Ouch.

By 21CW's lofty standards, World War 13 was pretty disappointing at only 83 rated. Edward Cornell defended his title against Andrew Lee of all people in an 82 rated match. Tommy Cornell wasn't even on the show. Clearly he's afraid of his superior brother.

USPW Red, White and Blue ALSO rated in at 83. Rich Money retaining his title against Running Wolf in an 84-rated contest was the main event. TCW are continuing to be carried by THE ACE, Aaron Andrews.

Meanwhile in Japan, this happened:

The wrestling media is buzzing today after allegations that BHOTWG is really a front for a sinister cult who worship an ancient goat-God. ‘Inside information’ was leaked to the press by an unnamed source, and while it is yet to be verified, the promotion is likely to be damaged by the story. A spokesman denied the story, and that it was likely a malicious slur dreamed up by a rival company.

LOL.

Anyhow, we signed two people this month (one of whom was mentioned in the previous update), so I'm going to give a brief profile on both men. I'm still absolutely refusing to use this sites archaic method of adding pictures, so I'll give a small physical description of their pics too, that'll be fun.

The first boy is Warren Newton. A bald, black British lad who wears a striking yellow coat, he's only 18 years old and graduated from the WWA: UK school in January. He's 6'0'' and 246lbs, plays a superb heel (utterly irrelevant to us) and uses a 'Swinging Green Buster', whatever that is. I'm going to choose to picture it as a Swinging Side Slam, ala the Winds of Change used by Wade Barrett. He has 79 Menace, 68 SQ and that's... just about everything I know. His Entertainment and Physical Skills look like they're his strong suit.

Pascual Taylor is our other guy, a French Asian wrestler who graduated from WWA: Europe. 6'2'', 230lbs, 18 years of age. He uses the 'Sniper Cutter', so... a Cutter. 75 SQ, 73 Menace. There's a lot of blue when looking at his stat scout-rangers, but obviously that doesn't tell us too much yet. An issue with him: he's a smoker, and his wrestling style is Daredevil. I asked him to quit smoking which he agreed to, so hopefully we'll be good.

Both men have potential, but they're gonna have to spend quite a while learning.

As we reached our show, we also received the nice news that British Samurai has taken Mickey Robson under his wing. Now then, let's take a look at what happened at CWW The Call To Arms!

Sharp & Heath, Lenny Mochin, Curtis Jenkins & Jonni Leyland defeated Cross & Granger, Gavin Owen, JK Lee & Pascual Taylor 35

Taypen & Buzzard defeated the Black Country Boys (Mickey Owen & Gazz Vedmore). 27.

Neil Warburton defeated Glen Ward to retain his Submission Championship. 34.

Merle O'Curle defeated Padraig O'Hearne. 41.

OVERALL RATING: 39.

A few fun notes about that show:

We managed to avoid the 'Overuse' penalty this time around, because the five-on-five tag was 15 minutes, instead of 20.
Black Country Boys have Excellent chemistry and BOTH men have the Tag Team Specialist attribute, so that's three huge boosts to their performance when teaming together. Once they hit high Experience they're going to be ludicrously good together.
Merle O'Curle vs. O'Hearne rated at a 41 DESPITE having a penalty for negative chemistry. Exciting debut for O'Curle.

So, what's next?

CWW King of the North Tournament

Our next event is CWW King of the North, and this event is where the annual King of the North Tournament is held. Since this is a one-night deal I've opted to go with a relatively small tournament that we can get through in just one night - so it'll be eight of CWW's best workers going at it to claim the honour!

For predictions, instead of predicting individual matches, I'm inviting you to select one worker you want to back for the tournament. For each victory your worker gets, you get a point. You'll also get a bonus point if they win the entire tournament, meaning you can take a total of four points from this event!

With that said, let's meet our combatants:

Curtis Jenkins: Despite his defeat to Lenny Mochin in January, CJ remains one of our top stars.
Don Henderson: We've had a taste of what Henderson can offer, now he has a chance to really cement his position in the company.
JK Lee: 'The Bulldog', JK Lee hasn't had a superb start to 2020 but is always dangerous.
Jonni Leyland: Honestly he's here to make up numbers don't back him x
Lenny Mochin: The CWW Champion and the winner of the first (and only other) King of the North Tournament last year.
Merle O'Curle: Similarly to Don Henderson, we haven't seen much of Merle yet, but he's certainly been impressive.
Neil Warburton: The Submission Champion - not quite experienced at the top level but not someone to take lightly.
Padraig O'Hearne: Being beaten by Merle O'Curle is nothing to be ashamed of, and O'Hearne will be looking to elevate himself here.

Who will prevail? That's a question we'll answer in our next update, as we head into the CWW King of the North Tournament!

Ello all, more stuff's happened. March SWF Awesome Impact pulled an 80, Golden beating Scythe for an 82 rated main event. Kozue Kawashima claimed victory in PGHW's Elite Series, which is nice for him. 21CW have declined the opportunity to offer Cliff Wilson AKA FREAKING DARK ANGEL a contract extension. This is kinda shocking, he's an incredible Road Agent and a legend of Brit wrestling. Jeff Nova's an arse. Speaking of 21CW, though, they put on another good show as Head-To-Head scored an 84. Eddie over Faust in the ME got an 86, Tommy over Kevin Jones got a 95 and Matravers over Cooper got a 94. Back across the pond, USPW Liberty and Justice was the best show of the month with an 88, headlined by Nicky Champion dethroning Rich Money for the USPW Title in a 93 match. Aaron Andrews is still carrying. CWW King of the North <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49149" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div> Lenny Mochin defeated Neil Warburton to advance. 42. The overall rating was 37 points higher than our company pop, and it also featured our new all-time greatest match in the shape of O'Curle/Mochin I. My reasoning for O'Curle winning here is that I want to build to a series between he and Mochin and him winning the tournament by pinning the champion is probably the most obvious way to give him credibility. Now then, onto April. April Frederique signed for USPW, which is interesting to see. He didn't feature on the card for their PPV this month though, as Freedom Fight was headlined by a 91 rated fatal fourway that saw Nicky Champion retain against Enygma, Rich Money & Joss Thompson, earning the overall show an 87. CWA are having an utterly wretched year so far. SuperSlam got a ghastly 69 rating. Adrian Garcia has 72 booking skill, why is this happening? And to compound the company's issues further, Cameron Vessey is out for a year with a Torn Rotator Cuff. 21CW's 2020 Cornell Cup did as well as you'd expect. The semi-main saw Dysfunction (Kevin Jones & Rolling Johnny Stones) go over Antithesis & Daniel Black Francis to win the Cornell Cup in a 74 rated match. Eddie Cornell retained his 21CW Title against Tommy Cornell and Adam Matravers in a 98 rated match. Piss off. Meanwhile, SWF's The World is Watching pulled an 84, Golden defeating Randy Unleashed and Valiant in a 90 match. Weirdly, TCW decidely not to use Aaron Andrews AT ALL on their PPV this month. Unsurprisngly, this was their lowest rated show of the year so far, as Where Angels Fear To Tread got a 72 rating. The last things to talk about before covering our show are in the realm of talent acquisition. We made five signings this month! Let me take you though them... Nigel Svensson, everyone's favourite Swede and honestly a natural fit for us. I was only reminded of his existence when I saw a news story about him walking out on a SAISHO show due to a wage dispute. I'm going to be optimistic and say that that was all 100% SAISHO's fault and it was nothing to do with Nige. Welsh Dragon, who has recently been let go by 21CW. He's nothing too special right now, but he's only 22. I think he could develop well for us. Gordon Leve is probably the least well-known of our recruits. He works for UEW and boasts some decent Mental skills. I don't think he'll set CWW on fire but he's definitely capable of being a solid hand. Our final two signings weren't really made because of their talent, but for a more... narrative reason. A news story broke this month that Joy, a valet who works up in Scotland for SNP, was sexually harrassed by Mark Carnie. She quit the promotion and I decided that she doesn't deserve to be jobless, so here she is. And since we're brigning her in, I decided it makes sense to pick up her fiance, Vic Walker. Walker, much like Leve, isn't someone I see becoming one of our top stars, but he should easily be a decent underneath guy. I don't want to take this company in even the vaguest direction of Sports Ent wackiness, so we'll be sticking mostly to very realistic, sports-like angles and storylines. We're now focusing on setting up Lenny vs. Merle II, and the next time that happens, it'll be for the CWW Championship!

Hi all, today's update will be a relatively quick one because I'm only going to be covering a month's worth of news and one show (CWW Only The Strong). However, we're gearing up for a big show next, so I'll be posting the card and allowing you to predict on stuff. Anyway, what's happened in... May Yuma Maruya is retiring from action, which is kinda sad, but she's signing off her career by donating a large sum to charity, which is sweet. She's also apparently looking to continue with a backstage role, so that'll be interesting to see. For the record, this retirement hasn't come about because an injury or anything. SWF Times of Trouble shocked the world as the invincible Rocky Golden was finally defeated for the SWF Championship. Remo is the new top man in the company, with their match scoring an 88 rating. Unfortunately, despite there also being a 91 rated tag matchon the card, the show only managed an 83 rating. I'm assuming this is due to a lack of any really good angles, which is something I'm noticing quite commonly with the AI: they struggle immensely with actually pulling good angles. SWF's rivals, USPW, managed to best them yet again, as Declaration of Independece's 94 rated main event saw Nicky Champion retain his title against Rich Money, the overall show scoring an 88. While on the topic of this 'war' between the SWF and USPW, I'm noticing that the AI seems VERY timid when it comes to actually bidding for and stealing another company's workers. I'd be expecting USPW to actually utilise their absurd financial strength, but people like Scythe, ZWB and Atom Smasher have all had their contracts extended with relative ease by the SWF. Strange. Back in merry old England, 21CW managed an 81 rated show for Partners In Crime. I'd laugh at this, but 21CW honestly had both arms tied behind their back when booking the card. For those not quite in the know, Partners In Crime is a tag-team themed PPV (hence the name). Unfortunately, I don't think the AI is advanced enough to use a bit of creativity when booking around this instruction, because the main event was Kevin Jones & Rolling Johnny Stones (Standing Room Only) vs. Hot Stuff. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49149" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;">Side Note: The fact that Hot Stuff headlined this PPV is REALLY dumb, I'll explain why in a bit.</div></div></blockquote> The main event did quite well (86), but this show did not feature: <ul><li>Edward Cornell </li><li>Tommy Cornell </li><li>Adam Matravers </li><li>Jonathan Faust </li><li>Ricky Storm, who is ACTUALLY A MEMBER OF A TEAM and one of 21CW's top stars. </li><li>Sifu, Storm's partner. </li><li>Phillip Cooper. </li></ul> The funny part about that list is that, well, it's a list of every single wrestler above the Well Known perception. 21CW did not use a single Star or Major Star on their PPV. A few other notable depatures, Eddie Peak is leaving TCW after not being offered a new contract. Same with Brett Biggins, who is leaving the SWF. Maybe we'll see The Biggins Boys reunite in TCW. Speaking of TCW, they've finally hit Big now, so I suppose I can start covering their shows in a bit more detail. And, wow, what a way to start. Total Mayhem 24 was a 93 rated show, Aaron Andrews retaining his title against Wolf Hawkins in a 96 rated match headlined! Jay Chod defeating Mighty Mo was only a single point lower at 95. Very good show. But enough about other companies.
