Super excited to be doing this in this year's game! Kept wanting to redo an attempt in 2016 after hitting that HoF status in it and never did, so I'm excited to make things happen in this one! (This is being done in a real world based database starting in October 2014.)

Real Wrestling Action is my starting company taking place in the Midwest with a Silver Age Pro Wrestling product. The idea behind the company is kinda similar to NWA in the sense of it being a throwback to older wrestling and mostly in-ring action that still features characters and whatnot.

CR Daredevil is an 18 year old middleweight technician who wears a mask everywhere he seems to go, as if trying to hide his identity from the world... for some reason....

(Side note, I did do the Quick Skill Creation tool and got really lucky with my stats adding up to 879 not counting Respect and Resilience. If this is an issue to start it this high, I can edit the stats down before I get too far into it. Feel like the Skill Creation causes higher than 750 a lot though, so maybe the first option should be higher? Just a thought.)

The added benefit of this attempt is that the shows and whatnot will be recorded for my YouTube channel (CRDaredevil05 if it's not obvious lol), so you can watch my triumphs and failures along the way if you'd like.

Look forward to seeing everyone else continue to progress in this!

I was hoping the same it adds up to a lot more skill points if you go with the quick skill creation. I did that then toned it down to the 750 but man my wrestler still seems so crappy, and it feels like it’s taking far too long even though I set everything from random to excellent to better my wrestler.

31. “Hit The Bricks” You live in the gym. +10 to spend on physical skills. (Athleticism, Toughness, Stamina, Power)

32. "Chance to Train" You have been offered the chance to train with a Wrestling Legend. Gain +20 points to spend on any Fundamental skill. (Basics, Selling, Consistency, Safety & Psychology)

Can I double-check something, BC? Is it intentional that the first of these two is skills plural, so presumably can be split, but the second is singular, so I take it has to go all into one?

CRDaredevil looks should be set to as a star for the quick skill generator and also just curious does anyone’s skills lower once they start their game? Like it always seems like even though mine are set the way they are once I start the game off they are showed to be ALOT lower then what I had set for...

CRDaredevil looks should be set to as a star for the quick skill generator

I went back into the skills after I had already randomized the skills, so that's why it showed a different thing at the bottom. Otherwise I would have created an experienced person there by accident as well. Lol. Appreciate you noticing that though. I forgot that it would have reset that after going back into it.

The first video of my Challenge!

So as I said in my post, I will be recording my series along on my YouTube channel. The first video ended up being longer than planned as I was going into detail about the rules of the challenge that many of you clearly already know, so no worries if you want to skip this video, but if you'd like to check it out, I'd be much appreciative! Otherwise I'll be posting my videos relevant to the challenge heading forward (end of year, mystery box, etc.). Looking forward to seeing all this plays out for everyone and appreciate any of you who decide to check my series out!

Going to be going for a promotion based in Queensland.

...

EDIT: Also, I'm only hiring active wrestlers who are based in Queensland until I either rise in size or move on to one of the bigger companies. Wish me luck!

EDITED EDIT: Managed to comprise a roster of people who are only based out of Queensland! (I'm lucky, in that regard, I guess!)

Magnus Ivansson, Glen Lee, Marvin McKenzie, Original Lone Rider & London Platten make up my non-wrestlers, while my wrestlers include my UC (Austin London), Mauler, Smasher, Bounce Buchanan, Flip Buchanan, Jesse Tasman, Ice Ice Davey, The Kipper, Pat Rigsby, Cody Cook, Dee Lucketti, Lance Lott, Craig Phoenix, Wes Schnorfestt, Toby Tough, Trey Tallman, Moonchild and Surfer Dude Lucas.

I've gone the same route, setting my user character (Zachary Caspit, thanks to Suggest-a-Name) up in Queensland with a cheap local roster. It took me a couple of months to realise that I was going nowhere until I got my popularity up enough to attract sponsors (I should have read this whole thread before I started) and since then I've been rocking 3 shows a month.

  • Sunshine Slam (Sunshine Coast) Headlined by the Sunshine Coast Heavyweight Champion (currently Surfer Dude Lucas)
  • Golden Showdown (Gold Coast) Headlined by the Gold Coast Bubbleweight Champion (currently Dee Lucketti)
  • Brisbane Bash (Brisbane) Headlined by the Brisbane Tag Team Champions. (Rough & Tumble; Pat Rigby & Ice Ice Davey)

They started as 3-match, 1-hour long shows with an 8-man roster to minimise losses, but as popularity has increased and sponsors came in, things have expanded. 4 matches. A road agent. 90 minutes. Bigger roster. A fifth match. Now I'm 6 months in and I've hit Tiny, I'm turning a profit on 'full' shows, and can start repaying the $5k debt I built up early. I'm happy with 140 fans in the crowd, so I've started charging for tickets. I'm not too fussed with company growth for the rest of the year, but it'll likely happen anyway.

Zachary Caspit is improving. He's been working in the Bubbleweight division with Dee Lucketti against Wes Schnorfestt and Lance Lott in an effort to improve his performance stats. Hitting Tiny gave him the Tag Team Specialist attribute, so I think the next move is to ditch Longetti and search for a new tag team partner. One with chemistry.

Figured I'd get started on this as well. Had a tough time deciding on the product, but ended up going with a Deathmatch Lucha Libre company in Mexico and see how it goes.

Here's the promotion:

EDIT: Had my first show. Safe to say it did not go over well. UC's first match had a rating of 5 as a result of the crowd absolutely hating his guts. Owner also decided to throw me a curveball and gave me an owner goal to not sign any Daredevils, limiting the available talent pool even further.

Well I reached a snag in my run so far where I am stuck trying to gain income as a small company, suffering production penalties due to company income. Only have about $10k, 41 popularity but suffering with a 32 falling economy and 35 falling wrestling industry...:( how do I make money

If you’re small then lots of annual normal shows. Check the expected turn-out and jigger with your ticket prices to get the right attendance. For example if you’re due to get 500 fans on normal prices it’s probably worth selling them cheap to near fill a 1000 hall. This is the first time I’ve really paid attention to attendances and ticket prices. It helped that SW US has the Warehouse with 500 capacity.

Oh and don’t try running a weekly TV show too soon. They bleed money. Lucky I only took a 3 month contract.

Finished my first year. My promotion is now making a profit (and my owner has finally started taking a wage again) so I think it's time to spend more money. My $30 crew have done wonderfully, and are still growing us in size, but everyone's popularity is stalled at 17-19 and the fans are getting restless with the lack of stars. I brought in one (Echo, 69 pop in Aus) for my December shows, using him to hit some achievements, and still made bank. Time to give young Zachary Caspit better guys to wrestle.

2020 Achievements

Hello World (Tiny Company) Achieved June 2020

Rolled 50; Add "Plays Realistic Well" and “Tag Team Specialist”

Fresh New Indy (Event of 50) - Achieved December 2020

Rolled 27; “Flavour of the Month”

First Step (Match of 50) - Achieved December 2020

Rolled 39; +5 charisma & "Musician"

End of Year

Rolled 34; +5 Psychology

Not the best rolls. Flavour of the Month will run out (and it's not like Zach's anything special right now. And Musician? Big meh from me. Tag Team Specialist is working pretty well. The team with Dee Longetti is scoring nicely, but I'm going to try to find a big star I can team with. Couldn't find chemistry with any other heels on my current roster.

So I'm in the start of year two now. Ended off kinda sad as I lost my main star Ernest and also lost Marvel but I'm still running strong. At $144k running weekly events, sold out arenas to 2,000 fans with 47 popularity. My goal is to reach $250k end of year. Ended up rolling a 42 so I added Better Heel to my attributes. Still have a long ways to go to being a solid wrestler but he's getting there. Lets see what this year brings me since the economy is finally rising back up and I've been pushing about 75k views weekly on WrestleWorld.
