STATEMENT ON THE REVIVAL OF THE CANADIAN WRESTLING FEDERATION

WINDSOR, ON-- The officials of the Canadian Wrestling Federation (CWF) have confirmed today that the once-defunct promotion will be re-opened under the leadership of Dunton Hall and Roz Larren, two highly-respected names in the professional wrestling industry.

The rebirth of the CWF comes after a long and thorough study on the current state of the landscape of sports entertainment, with the format of the promotion undergoing a major overhaul from the traditions of the past.

"This shan't be your father's CWF," says Hall, promising a mixture of exhilarating action and unexpected surprises to come.

Interested participants may contact CWF directly by mail or through the website, with the first season slated to proceed by the end of February, 2020.

For the latest news and updates, follow CWF on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media accounts, and stay tuned for future statements from the company.

OOC:
It was this month, ten years ago, when I first started my first (and only) TEW diary. June 2010. I haphazardly set out to tell a story-- my story. Some liked it, some didn't. But I did, and in the end, that's what mattered. I wrote. Life moved on. Five years later: I was getting married. My game rolled right along. I wrote. Life couldn't be better. Two more years after that: I become a father. Uh-oh. My game survives. I wrote. Life wasn't the same. August, 2018. I lay out all my plans for what might have been, and just like that, it was over. No more writing. My game, which brought me so much joy, which gave me an outlet to express myself-- my game came to an end. Life moved on. So did I.

Fast forward to March, 2020. A worldwide pandemic gave me just enough time to hammer out a new game, giving form to an idea that I've had for a while now. Finally after ten years with the 2010 version, I was playing TEW 2016.

I don't know how long this will last. I don't know if I'll have enough time to keep playing. But here I am, ten years later. This is for all the friends I've made along the way. BHK, Kijar, Lloyd, and Nobby. 2Sweet, TFC, Happy, Satyr, CoC, and ape. This is for Jingo (wherever you are) and Harmor (I miss you, buddy). And this is for me. Because I like to write. Because I enjoy wrestling. Because life's too short and we should do what makes us happy.

Disclaimer:
I'm not really a fan of Survivor, with all my knowledge (and interest) of it coming from the No Dunks Podcast. I hope you bear with me as we go through some growing pains together.

The MAN is back… :D I'm going to PM you buddy.

Looking forward to seeing what you do in Canada and in the CVerse!

This is the best news!

It must be 8 years since I started following your WWE diary, that is odd to think. Will be great to be able to follow along from day 1!

Nice to see you back mich!

Mich! nice to see you back, I can't wait to see your work form wether 1 post or years worth....Subscribed!

Thanks, everyone. No pressure lol Just want to get my feet wet and take things slow. I'm trying out a new (for me) concept so hopefully it won't get too shaky or convoluted :o

Anyway, I've updated the Rules and the Roster for the first season, and plan on posting the first show tomorrow. :)

Oddly enough, back when No Dunks were The Starters, they got me hooked on Survivor.

I really like the premise of this so far and I'm excited to see this play out.

Thanks, Atticus :) I haven't actually seen/watched Survivor so hopefully you guys can help guide me through it :o

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>CWF: Getting back on track, then: How do you feel about your allies in Pride & Glory?</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Now </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>that's</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> a question. I got good soldiers competin' under the same banner. We boys are gonna go to war, and I gotta be honest, I think we got the rest of the field beat. Waylon Walls, that boy's hungry. Texas Hangman's got a lot of size, and they say you can't teach that. And then there's me. Art Reed.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>CWF: Yes, there's Art Reed.</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Nineteen years I've been doin' this. </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>Nineteen</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;">. I've given my blood, my sweat, my LIFE--! This business is all I have, and it's all I want. I don't care that I'm the oldest guy here. I don't care about all'a that.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>CWF: You're best known for your years in the promotion known as Danger and Violence Extreme--</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Yeah, DaVe was where I made my name. It's where I spilled the most'a my blood, too. Me and some'a the boys, we stayed 'til they closed the doors, 'til they shut the lights and packed up the ring. It was our life for all'a them years, and it was hard, y'know?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>CWF: More recently, you've been with Pride Glory Honor Wrestling, or PGHW, on a touring basis.</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Japan was good to me. It still is. I make good money. Decent money. But here's a little nugget for ya. I don't know if you know it or not, but I'm Canadian. Simple as that. I saw the CWF starting back up, I said to myself, "Art, you'll kick yourself if you don't give it a shot." So, here I am.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>CWF: Here you are.</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

I'll be damned if I ain't the favorite to win it all. You want some real-world, humanitarian [bleep] for your little show? How's about this: more than once in my life, during my travels around the world, people come up to me and say, "Damn, Art, you're better in the ring than anyone I've ever seen! You're smooth, you're agile, you've got this whole </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>wrasslin'</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> thing down to a 'T!'" Sounds good, right? So why am I here and not in one of them big tents? 'Cause there's always a 'but.'</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>CWF: A "but?"</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Yeah, man. There's always a 'but.' And in my case, in ol' Art Reed's case, it's 'cause I'm black. They tell me I ain't marketable enough. They tell me I can't be the face of no franchise. They tell me I ain't "championship material," all this after they tell me I'm one'a the best in the damn ring! </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>CWF: But here in the CWF--</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

I ain't done, boy. I'm tired'a bein' held down. I'm tired'a bein' passed over. I'm tired'a bein' excluded in the list of all-time greats! I'm Art-motha-[bleep]in'-Reed, and I'll be damned if I don't take what I deserve! It's been way too damn long. Nineteen years. Enough is enough. If you don't know my name, if you don't know what I'm all about, well it's 'bout time you educate yourself.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Nice start, P&G were surely the favourites going in, and Art's backstory promo has probably cemented that.

Some interesting teams though, I'm choosing to support FAD.

Looking forward to this. Good start and an interesting concept

Thanks, guys. I hope to expand on it further but I've got Season One done so any adjustments will have to wait until S02.

Anyway, wanted to post a show a day and I already broke that by not posting yesterday, so... here's two shows today. :o

Tonight's slate of matches features the remaining two teams, Fire and Desire and Rock'n'Roll Express, with FAD's Solomon Gold eking out the win against RRE's Gypsy Rose. Rose had more energy throughout, but energy alone wasn't going to be enough against the self-professed Hillbilly Heartthrob, who locks in the Gold Standard Sleeper for the win.

Backstage cameras catch RRE's Zach Rudge introducing himself to Lucy Stone-McFly. While not asking her outright on a date, Rudge was deftly toeing the line between flirtatious and friendly, with Stone-McFly appearing to be entertained by his descriptions of the sand, sea, and surf. She wishes him luck on his match tonight, walking away as the camera pans to a very obviously smitten Zach Rudge.

Two spirited ladies battled it out in our second match of the evening, with Simony Sentinel getting the better of her less-experienced opponent. Marie Punnen puts on a decent showing, but it wasn't enough against The Violent Violet, taking Punnen down with the Sentinel Strike for the pinfall victory.

Dunton Hall Unveils the CWF Championship

Dunton Hall gets right to the point, officially announcing that whoever comes out on top of the "Tier One" bracket (among Art Reed, Zach Rudge, Laura Flame, and Joanna Silver) will be crowned the new CWF Champion. "As the weeks unfold, the situation will become clearer, and once there is a definite winner, I will make my decision."

The two heads of RRE and FAD round out the twelve-man field, making for a decent, if uneventful main event. Laura Flame's strikes were dangerous, but Zach Rudge is able to avoid her signature Flame Fire Kick just long enough to connect with the Freak Out to earn the 1, 2, 3 for the Rock'n'Roll Express.

CWF: Please have a seat, Marie--

Let me stop you right there, honey. I can handle this. The name's Marie Punnen, and yeah, sure, I'm just twenty-one, but age is just a number, I guarantee you that.

CWF: We're one week in, has there been anyone in the two groups that has impressed you?

'
Impressed
?' C'mon, am I supposed to be impressed by '
Little Miss Perfect
,' Lucy Stone-McFly? Don't tell me you think that '
Jumpin' Jellybean
' looked
cool
?! Listen, there's only one person in this whole dang contest who's cool, and you're looking at her.

CWF: Okay, so is it safe to assume that you haven't had the time to get to know your teammates--?

Nah, nah, nah. Don't go stirring up [bleep] where there ain't none, y'hear? We in the Rock'n'Roll Express, we don't need t'be the best of friends, see. We just have to work together. We have to support each other. Zach Rudge, he's a bit of a kook, but his heart's in the right place, I guess. Gypsy, she's young, like me. We got time to figure it out. We here for the long haul.

CWF: You mentioned your age.

Yeah, and I said it's just a number. To be honest, I hope the rest of them guys are like you. I
want
them to underestimate me. I dare you. You'll see what happens when you mess with me.

CWF: Do you have any goals that you want to achieve during your time in CWF?

Goals? Yeah, I got goals. My goal is to win the whole damn thing! I want that money, yo! Gimme that prize money, all of it! You'll see, I'm gonna be the last one standing, when it's all said and done!

CWF: So that's your main motivation, the prize money?

Look't you. You think you're so all high and mighty 'cause you don't need money? Newsflash: everybody needs money. Even you. So what if I want to get a leg up on the rest of the losers in this rat-race? Look, I'm getting sick of your face, so I'ma end this right here. Let me leave you with some knowledge, okay? The name's Marie Punnen, and I am money. I'm money in the ring, outta the ring, wherever you want, you name it. Marie. Is. Money. Got it? Good.

She doesn't connect with the Gypsy's Curse, but is still able to counter Flying Patriot's springboard attack, turning it into a small package to drop Flying Patriot to 1-1.

Zach Rudge's infatuation with Lucy Stone-McFly continues this week as RRE's head honcho walks up to Stone-McFly, "cordially" inviting her to watch his match at ringside later on. He keeps it short in order to prepare for his match, leaving Lucy Stone-McFly to weigh her options, considering Rudge's match was going to be against the Road Warriors' Joanna Silver.

Simony Sentinel

<img src="https://imgur.com/nYH3pRe.jpg" height="100" width="100">

CWF: Please tell us about yourself.

Um, okay. My name's Simony Sentinel, age twenty-six, originally from Boston, Massachusetts, but I've spent some time in L.A., Philadelphia, Portland, Chicago, New York, Dallas, you name it, I've been there.

CWF: You wrote in your application that you're... estranged from your parents?

They were ultra-conservative rural folk who couldn't understand my lifestyle. The writing was on the wall early on and I just chose to get out and travel the world. I've slept inside cars, on friend's couches, once on a park bench, but here's the thing, I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world.

CWF: It must have been hard living by yourself.

Ehh, you get used to it. It was lonely, at first, but I learned to rely on no-one but myself, and I've done alright, don't you think?

CWF: Well, you made it here. (laughs)

Yes, I did! In a way, I think I fit right in. I feel like every single contender here, we're all searching for who we are. We're on a quest to find our
real
selves. It's an interesting journey, and to be quite honest, I don't want to be the first one to be sent packing.

CWF: You're currently 1-0 after a win against Marie Punnen last week.

And hopefully, I make it 2-0 after next week. (laughs) It's the Battle of the Undefeateds, you know. Me and Waylon Walls, going at it? It's going to be one heck of a match. I can't wait.

CWF: Do you have a message for all your fans out there?

I don't see myself as a role model or anything, but if there are any kids out there who look up to me, I just want to say-- I haven't lived an easy life. Listen to your parents, but do what you got to do. You can't deny yourself who you are. Once you find your identity, be true to it, no matter what. That's what I did, and that's what I'm going to keep doing.

<p>More good shows, I like the idea of the having the interview segments later. If you had them in the show it will upset the flow and would seem a little odd having short and concise shows with 1 long interview in it. So the way you're doing it really is best of both worlds with easy to read shows but adding some depth to who you want, when you want. </p><p> </p><p>

Interesting to have the romance crossing over teams, hopefully these distractions and arguments allow FAD to rise up in the background!</p>
