I'm hoping the FBI get the tag belts back at some point, but like that you are starting to utilize Guido as the proper Lightweight hand that he is. He will continue to improve that way. Is he a Technician Flyer in the game? :)

Loving the Queen of Extreme bits.

I don't mind Diamond and Swinger much.

Taka already bringing the goods grade wise! As much as I'm enjoying his little segments, and this might be sacrilegious to say here, I was never a sandman fan, so I'm looking forward to seeing who steps up

Yeah, TAKA is a big step up. I just wish I had him for longer!

And... and, yeah it absolutely is sacrilegious to not love Sandman. But you're entitled to your opinion.

Taka's
need to make a transition to ECW :D

That is awesome! I'd never seen that before. Thank you.

I'm sorry man, Guido has left for All Japan. Written contract. And Mamaluke and Big Sal have bad chemistry, so... yeah FBI are done.

I don't mind Simon and Swinger. Well Swinger I do a bit but Simon has always entertained me. "Simon... has... a problem." Loved it.

Welcome everyone to The Styles Report with me Joey Styles, bringing you all the latest action in ECW. </p><p> </p><p>

Absent from 3 Way Dance was Kid Kash who appears to have picked up an injury in his defence of the ECW World Television championship against Nova in July. The injury is not thought to be enough for Kash to have to vacate the title.</p><p> </p><p>

In other injury news, Steve Corino suffered a severe concussion in his match with Tommy Dreamer. This is believed to have created some genuine tension between the two workers.</p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of Dreamer, Sandman retained his ECW World Heavyweight championship against Brian Lee after Tommy interfered. Dreamer though would be attacked moments later by Simon Diamond and Swinger, urged on by Dawn Marie. The Sandman, himself a bloody mess, was unaware of the attack until Dawn led her team back through the crowd. At this time Simon and Swinger’s intentions have not been made clear.</p><p> </p><p>

It is understood that Dreamer has approached the ECW match-makers and demanded both Simon Diamond and Swinger at the next event, Gangsta’s Paradise on August 10. It is not known if this match request has been accepted.</p><p> </p><p>

What we do know is that TAKA Michinoku stole the show at 3 Way Dance. Fans, while recognising his “bad guy antics,” were respectful of his talent and have pushed for another TAKA main event. And so, challenging the ‘Hardcore Icon’ Sandman for the ECW World Heavyweight title will be TAKA Michinoku. TAKA is only with ECW on a short-term deal and we face the very real prospect of Michinoku taking our World title with him when he returns to Japan.</p><p> </p><p>

Also at the event we will see the ECW World Tag Team championship on the line. The holders Doring and Roadkill will battle against new challengers in EZ Money and Julio Dinero, collectively known as Hot Commodity. And in his last ECW match Little Guido will team with Tony Mamaluke as the F.B.I. face the team of Christian York and Joey Matthews.</p><p> </p><p>

Gangsta’s Paradise, August 10, at the Washington Avenue Armory, NY. The Sandman vs TAKA Michinoku. You do not want to miss this.</p><p> </p><p>

For ticket information contact the ECW ticket-line or go to extremechampionshipwrestling.com.</p><p> </p><p>

Depressed about that but at the same time, All Japan would've been an awesome way for him to showcase his ability. :) I accept it haha I expect him and Tony will be putting over York and Matthews in proper fashion.

Great first win for TAKA!

Yeah. I was really pleased with that match.

TAKA is a superstar! Hopefully he stays longer than whatever his short-term deal is. Winning the title and fending off the hardcore SOBs of ECW would be an awesome story.

Ha, yeah. That's one way of going with it. TAKA is great though. He can have good matches with pretty much anyone.

Yeah. All Japan is a good fit for him but I'm still annoyed as the FBI would absolutely got a title run at some point. And... we'll see if Guido honours the time old tradition on his way out. :)

• ECW World Tag Team Champiosnhip

Hot Commodity (EZ Money and Julio Dinero, w/ Elektra) defeated Doring and Roadkill to become the new ECW tag champions.

Joey Styles: “Doring with the Bareback on Money but Elektra is up on the apron screaming at referee John Finegan. Roadkill looks like he wants to bring her into the ring but here’s Dinero… and Dinero to the outside. Finegan is trying to get Elektra down but also trying to stop the massive Roadkill. Wait, it’s Chris Hamrick! Hamrick with the… brass knuckles? Oh my God!! Doring is out!! And Finegan counts three. Doring and Roadkill got screwed!” <font color="#9912A2">D+</font>

• Paul Heyman heads to the ring

Joey Styles: “Here comes the boss.”

Paul E calls out Tommy Dreamer and says that he cannot in good faith allow Dreamer to face all three Prime Time Players alone. Dreamer jokingly asks Paul E whether he’s brought his tights with him. He gently moves Heyman aside and AC/DC’s ‘Big Balls’ hits. Balls Mahoney shambles out and nods to Dreamer. Tommy smiles. <font color="#9912A2">D+</font>

• The Prime Time Players (w/ Dawn Marie) vs Tommy Dreamer and Balls Mahoney

This was a slugfest in which Brian Lee, Simon Diamond and Swinger quickly dominated. There were a couple of spirited fightbacks but Dreamer and Mahoney looked to be defeated. Until…

Joey Styles: “Oh my… it’s… it’s New Jack! New Jack is here! The Original Gangsta is at Gangsta’s Paradise!!”

Tommy Dreamer, Balls Mahoney and New Jack won when New Jack took out all three Prime Time Players with a balcony dive and Dreamer dragged Diamond back to the ring and hit the DDT for the win. <font color="#9912A2">D</font>

• ECW World Heavyweight Championship

The Sandman defeated TAKA Michinoku with a Top Rope Leg Drop through a table. The conflicting styles made for a bizarre, engaging match that had fans on their feet. The ‘Hardcore Icon’ retains the belt. <font color="#9912A2">B-</font>

PPV named after an iconic 90s tune, check

New Jack surprise return, check

New Jack signature balcony dive, check

New Jack return at a PPV called Gangsta's Paradise -> mind = blown

I chuckled :p

A TAKA/Sandman main event match for the world title is something I wished we could see. Their styles are almost impossibly far apart. That being said, dammit I wish TAKA went over! On the bright side at least we got new tag champs, some REAL wrestlers :D

Damn New Jack about to kill some one. I am glad Tommy won for good. The sandman always being the badass but kinda' weird for putting TAKA up in the mainevent so quick after his first win. :)

New Jack always looked like he was about to kill someone. Legit scary.

TAKA had to go in the main event, he's one of the most over guys I've got. Plus... the grades, man. The grades. He's only here a short while so he'll be in or around the main event for most of it I think.

It's impressive that despite the simplicity it still somehow distinctly feels like ECW. 100% gutted that Taka didn't take the title, not that it really surprised me.

Man, that's such a kind compliment. Thank you.

Ha ha, nice one man. Thanks for coming back.

Yeah, on paper it looks horrible. I actually can't imagine it. But it churned out a B- so I absolutely would have wanted to see that match!

You don't like Doring and Roadkill? Aww, those guys were great. :)

This is fun, keep it up.

Thank you man.

So my thoughts on the two shows,

I liked both shows and they both felt like a step in the right direction now that some of your ideas are coming in to fruition.

I'm not too keen on Brian Lee but a fan of Simon and Swinger so I will sed how that plays out. Ps. I presume you are blissfully ignorant to the WWE team called the Prime Time Players from a few years ago?

Losing Guido is a shame and I'm not even sure Tracy Smothers could save the fBi from here.

On my excitement scale with regards to your ECW alumni, TAKA would rate a lot higher than Bam Bam (who I only really appreciated in the Triple Threat) but I recognise Bigelow has more star power and a bigger legacy with the company even if just for the Taz ramp collapse and Spike crowd launch.

Speaking of ECW alumni, I've got 4 or 5 names I'm wondering / hoping could appear at some point.

I was never too big on Hot Commodity but I think they will make for a more interesting champ duo than Doring and Roadkill.

I miss a 911/Sid style character to come out and waste a few chumps.

And finally, I've been humming Natural Born Killaz for about an hour since reading about New Jack.

Hell yeah! Got him! What an asset he is for ECW.

Yeah. He's a good draw. Plus, y'know, he's my guy, so...

Thanks man.

I'm not a huge fan on Lee but needed a big guy and was short on heels at the time. Plus, he has history with ECW. No, no idea about Prime Time Players in WWE. I stopped watching McWrestling quite a while ago and don't miss it.

TAKA is excellent. It's a shame I can't get him to stay longer. Bam Bam is fun but won't pull those ratings. The Taz ring collapse and Spike launch were both amazing. Wrestling needs to be that awesome again.

I'm about 9-10 months ahead in game time but if you feel like letting me know who your 4 or 5 alumni might be I can see if any of them are viable. They might already be booked somewhere down the line.

Cheers for the excellent comment.

Hello everyone, welcome to The Styles Report with me Joey Styles. I’m sure you’ve all heard the news - it’s been impossible to keep under wraps – the ‘Beast From the East,’ Bam Bam Bigelow has returned to Extreme Championship Wrestling. There was a huge win at Gangsta’s Paradise for The Sandman as he successfully defended his ECW World Heavyweight title against TAKA Michinoku. TAKA came close on several occasions but was unable to defeat the ‘Hardcore Icon.’ Now, in possibly his toughest test to date, Sandman must take on Bigelow at our next event, Natural Born Killaz.

Also on the card will be a Number One Contenders match for the World title - ‘The King of Old School’ Steve Corino will take on perennial underdog Mikey Whipwreck. Corino is confident about his chances but many an ECW wrestler will say only a fool would take Mikey lightly.

Gangsta’s Paradise also saw us crown new Tag Team champions as Hot Commodity defeated Doring and Roadkill after a distraction from Elektra and interference from Chris Hamrick. Hot Commodity are playing the numbers game and having it work in their favour. They will be set to defend the ECW World Tag Team Championship against the former champions... in a ladder match!

Speaking of Elektra, after several high profile incidents, ECW management has decided to release her from her contract. The final straw is believed to be an altercation with a fan in which police were called. After being given complimentary tickets the fan agreed not to press charges.

Two new personalities familiar to the ECW faithful have been signed: George and Lou E. Dangerously. No further word on their roles yet in the company.

And finally Kid Kash is set to return from injury to defend the ECW World Television title in an exciting match up with CW Anderson. All this and more at Natural Born Killaz, September 1, First Arena, NY. Tickets are still available – call the ECW ticket-line or go to extremechampionshipwrestling.com.

I've enjoyed following along with this, great stuff so far Bigelow Cartwheel. TAKA Michinoku was a good signing. The return of Bam Bam Bigelow is promising also. It's going to be interesting to see where you take this going into 2002 and beyond, as so many talents that went on to be major players in the 2000s just missed out on the opportunity to be in ECW. There really are so many directions you can take this. Have fun!
