Your Companies "Top 10 DVD" Match List

Recommended Posts

I really liked this thread in 2016 and I don't see why we have to wait until the next game to do it. I figure this way if you have longer ongoing games it will be easier to remember storylines and details from earlier years. Post your companies top ten lists and keep it going!

The stats are super high! Not challenging at all, but with this save I've been more focused on role playing/story telling and getting the young indy guys (AJ, Joe, Christopher Daniels primarily) over in WWE to set up some dream fueds so its still fun even if its a pretty smooth ride haha.

Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling

The Very Best of Hardcore 2021

10

Ash Campbell def. The New York Doll (Lockdown, May)(61)

Ash Campbell's feud with Nelson Callum came to an official end when Callum left the company. Feeling confident after coming out on top of the rivalry, Ash issued an open challenge for anyone in the back to take him on. His challenge was answered by the plucky New York Doll, a fixture on the opening card. Despite Campbell not taking the challenge seriously, the two ended up having a shockingly close and brutal battle, which turned out to be the very best of Doll's career thus far. Though Campbell came out on top, the match seemed to humble Campbell a large notch, which may be a big reason why he decided to win back the fans and go after the Steel Circle right afterwards.

9

PSW Championship

Ernest Youngman © def. Chris Caulfield (New Year Revolution, January)(61)

Chris Caulfield, a hardcore legend quickly running out of time, bravely took on the Steel Circle head on in what would be the final championship match of his career. Caufleid's friend Devil Dog was on ringside to keep things even and watch for any Steel Circle shenanigans. Despite Caulfield's very large heart, Youngman was able to come out on top and retain his championship to prove that the present is now all about him.

8

Logan Wolfsbaine def. Nelson Callum (Hardcore Revolution, April)(61)

In what would be Nelson Callum's final match in PSW, Callum attempted to take out the "Glorious" Logan Wolfsbaine, Steel Circle's master technician. To no luck, Callum was on a mission to break the Steel Circle from the inside by trying to convince Wolfsbaine that he didn't need Ernest Youngman and that he could easily make it on his own. In this masterclass contest, Callum passed the proverbial torch to Wolfsbaine in a great match that had no shenanigans from the outside. But unfortunately Wolfsbaine would continue to follow in Youngman's footsteps until leaving PSW himself.

7

PSW Championship - Cage Match

Harlem Haynes © def. Josh Jacobs (Blood & Gore, November)(62)

Phil Vibert has been leading a crew of tough guys who have few words of their own against the "loud mouths and knuckleheads" that run the top of the card in PSW. One of those guys was Josh Jacobs. With the likes of the Steel Circle and Ash Campbell long out of the picture by Thanksgiving time this year, Vibert set his sights on the newest top dog - Harlem Haynes. A feud that lasted throughout the changing of leaves, Jacobs and Haynes topped their feud off with a brutal cage match for Haynes' championship.

6

PSW Championship

Ernest Youngman © def Ash Campbell (Homecoming, June)(64)

Ash Campbell had been a hotly popular star in PSW who the fans really wanted to get behind, but his arrogance got in the way of ever truly embracing them. After a humbling experience with New York Doll, Campbell would later come to aid of Cowboy Buck Winchester, who similarly had a humbling experience when losing his championship to Ernest Youngman in a brutal barbed wire match. While being assaulted by the Steel Circle, Campbell ran out to a huge fan response to save his former enemy from potentially having his career ended early. Campbell would take on Youngman in an incredibly close contest and the fans would be yearning for a rematch soon after.

5

PSW Championship

Harlem Haynes def. Ash Campbell © (Philly Heatwave, August)(66)

An unlikely contender in Harlem Haynes gets a title shot after winning a four way the month before for #1 contendership. Though Campbell had just won the title, Haynes was determined to end his reign early amid rumors of Campbell signing a contract with TCW.

4

Strange Bedfellows - Partners cannot turn on each other or they face suspension

Cowboy Buck Winchester & Ernest Youngman def. Ash Campbell & Nelson Callum (Highway to Hell, February)(67)

When you think of PSW 2021, you think of two rivalries - Nelson Callum vs. Ash Campbell and Cowboy Buck Winchester vs. Ernest Youngman. Callum and Campbell were tag team partners for many years but Campbell seemed to get jealous of Callum's success in PSW as a multiple time champion. Cowboy Buck Winchester was in the midst of a hot rivalry with Youngman and his Steel Circle, but was denied time after time from ever facing Youngman one-on-one. To his chagrin, he would be forced to team with Youngman before ever taking him on and to make it worse, stipulations were put into place to prevent either team from turning on the other. Despite the restrictions, it seemed this was a match that was all about proving which partner of each team was better rather than what team was better and it sure showed as these four men put on a showcase of a match.

3

PSW Championship - Barbed Wire Match

Ernest Youngman def. Cowboy Buck Winchester © (Lockdown, May)(68)

Cowboy Buck spent nearly a year feuding with The Steel Circle before he could get the PSW title off of Ernest Youngman. In a brutal heartbreaker, Winchester's title reign came to a screeching halt when Youngman bested him in a bloody barbed wire match. Though Winchester's reign was short, it was clear that his initial win and very long hunt earned the respect of several members of the PSW locker room, one such being Ash Campbell who would come to his aid after the match. Ultimately, this would end up being Buck Winchester's final match in PSW.

2

PSW Championship - Loser Leaves Town

Ash Campbell def. Ernest Youngman © (Big Ass Brawl, July)(78)

Ernest Youngman was, in 2021, no doubt the most unstoppable champion in the company. And after his long reign of power was bested by Cowboy Buck Winchester, Youngman would still somehow get his grubby hands back on the belt and send Winchester out of PSW entirely. Ash Campbell, a popular young man who spent most of his time concerned about nobody himself, snapped out of his narcissism to finally take on the Steel Circle head on. After losing one title match prior, a second match was immediately made for the next event. A hot talking point about this feud was that many of PSW's top stars were being sent packing one after the other and to make this title challenge all the more important, the loser of this match was to leave PSW forever. Ash Campbell would pull off the incredible upset and Ernest Youngman would leave his sunglasses and leather jacket in the center of the ring before leaving the PSW Arena for the final time.

1

PSW Championship

Cowboy Buck Winchester def. Ernest Youngman © (Steel City Starfest XIV, March)(79)

Cowboy Buck Winchester spent nearly a year feuding with Ernest Youngman, but Youngman was able to weasel out of a title shot every single time. Cowboy spent his time taunting the Steel Circle and taking out Youngman's henchman one by one by one from single matches to unfair tag match to even more unfair handicap matches. But everything Steel Circle threw at Buck, he was able to conquer. Finally Winchester got his title shot in the most anticipated title match in PSW history. With one swift lariat, Cowboy Buck Winchester succeeded in knocking the Steel Circle out of power and won the PSW title to a flooding locker room and adoring crowd.

I posted my Bray Wyatt DVD in the 2016 thread. My save is a save I continued from TEW 2016 into 2020.

Fleisch's April 2014 mod for TEW 2013

Currently April 2019

The Best of WrestleMania 31-35

Disc 1

1. Dean Ambrose vs. Triple H

WrestleMania 31

The Shield and the Authority feuded throughout 2014 with Roman Reigns eventually turning on the Shield and aligning with the Authority at Summerslam. Dean Ambrose was instrumental in ousting Triple H and Stephanie McMahon from power at Survivor Series 2014. After a two month absence, Triple H returned following the Fast Lane 2015 main event in which Dean lost a WWE Championship match to Brock Lesnar. Triple H said that he was intent on destroying the rest of the Shield, starting with Dean. However, the Game wouldn't be so lucky as he fell in this WrestleMania opener to the Dirty Deeds.

2. Kevin Owens vs. Christian

WrestleMania 31

Kevin Owens debuted in WWE at Summerslam 2014, helping Christian to defeat John Cena. The two would form a close partnership as Christian managed Kevin Owens to a victory in his WWE debut match against Cena at Night of Champions. The two would be on the Authority's team at Survivor Series, coming up short. On the final show of 2014, Owens hit the Apron Powerbomb on Christian, dissolving their alliance. Christian would turn babyface once again and vow revenge on Owens, resulting in Christian eliminating Owens in the Royal Rumble and Christian and Randy Orton picking up a win over Owens and Kane at Fast Lane. Owens challenged Christian to a match at WrestleMania 31 in which Owens hit the Popup Powerbomb to defeat his former friend after an incredible bout.

3. Bray Wyatt vs. Sting

WrestleMania 31

Bray Wyatt won the Money in the Bank contract from Seth Rollins at Summerslam 2014 after Roman turned on Seth at the end of the match. Sting competed in his debut match in WWE at Survivor Series 2014, defeating the Undertaker. Bray refused to compete in the Royal Rumble because that would be greedy. Sting appeared after Bray's quick match against Adam Rose at the Royal Rumble and pointed to the WrestleMania 31 logo with his signature baseball bat. Bray and Sting would continue to play mind games with each other leading into a fantastic bout that resulted in Sting eating a Sister Abigail from Bray to give Bray his first WrestleMania victory.

4. Intercontinental Championship

Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler ©

WrestleMania 31

Daniel Bryan was injured in a hell in a cell match against Brock Lesnar and was out of action for the fall of 2014. Dolph Ziggler finished up a feud with Kane, winning the Intercontinental Championship from Kane in a ladder match at TLC 2014. Ziggler enacted the Intercontinental Championship open challenge on every Raw, facing a wide array of opponents. The night after the Royal Rumble, Daniel Bryan answered one of Dolph's challenges, but not for that night, for something grander, WrestleMania. Dolph continued putting away challengers, including Chris Jericho, Big Show, and Roman Reigns with Bryan building momentum for WrestleMania. After a technical showcase between two workhorses, Ziggler retained the Intercontinental Championship after a Zigzag.

5. WWE Championship

Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar ©

WrestleMania 31

Brock Lesnar won the WWE Championship at Summerslam 2014 from Daniel Bryan and continued to defend it at every PPV between Summerslam and WrestleMania against Bryan, Sheamus, John Cena, and Dean Ambrose. Seth Rollins had built up momentum, defeating Roman Reigns inside hell in a cell, defeating Team Authority at Survivor Series, and winning the 2015 Royal Rumble. Throughout the next two months, Paul Heyman insisted that Seth was a great performer, but there is no way he can best Lesnar. The bell rang at WrestleMania with the greatest prize in WWE on the line and 29 minutes of hard-hitting action later, Seth hit a Curb Stomp to win the WWE Championship. However, his night was not over.

5.5 WWE Championship

Bray Wyatt vs. Seth Rollins ©

WrestleMania 31

Despite Seth's best efforts to fend off a hungry Wyatt, Seth fell prey to Sister Abigail, giving Bray his first WWE Championship.

6. TLC Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship

Big E and Kofi Kingston vs. The Usos vs. The Dudleyz vs. Chris Jericho and Big Show ©

WrestleMania 32

Chris Jericho and Big Show won the WWE Tag Team Championship at TLC 2015 against the New Day. The Dudleyz had returned to WWE in late 2015 and the four spectacular teams collided in TLC match at WrestleMania as Jericho and Show put their WWE Tag Team Championship up for grabs. After a hellacious car crash of a match, Big E and Kofi Kingston took advantage of the Usos doing a double Superfly Splash off the ladders to the remaining four competitors below, winning their second WWE Tag Team Championship.

7. No Holds Barred

Bray Wyatt vs. Brock Lesnar

WrestleMania 32

This heel vs. heel encounter planted its roots after WrestleMania 31. At Battleground 2015, Bray Wyatt successfully defended the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins after the Wyatt Family, including a debuting Braun Strowman took Brock Lesnar out of the match. Brock was looking dominant during the first few minutes of the Royal Rumble, scoring the first three eliminations. However, the Wyatt Family including an non-participant Wyatt took him out of the match. Brock would seek vengeance on the Wyatt Family with Paul Heyman delivering his signature spoiler of Brock winning at WrestleMania. Unfortunately, Heyman's prediction didn't hold up as Bray defeated Brock with two Sister Abigails following a brutal matchup.

8. AJ Styles vs. John Cena

WrestleMania 32

AJ Styles made his WWE debut in the Royal Rumble 2016 and was the runner up, being eliminated by Dean Ambrose. AJ would immediately establish himself as a heel, aligning with newly debuting Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows and would pit himself against John Cena. During the next few months, AJ would mention Cena's recent successes being next to nothing and saying that it's time for Cena to step aside and make way for the new face of the company. Cena would challenge AJ to a match at WrestleMania in which Cena would fall victim to a Phenomenal Forearm to end one of WWE's legendary matchups, giving AJ his first WrestleMania victory.

9. Divas Championship

Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks ©

WrestleMania 32

This match featured three of the newest and brightest stars of the diva's division. Sasha Banks defeated Paige at Royal Rumble 2016 to win the vacant Diva's Championship after AJ Lee retired. Sasha, a member of the BFFs with Charlotte and Summer Rae, celebrated with her teammates the next night until they turned on her with Summer being jealous of Sasha's success. Sasha would make a babyface turn and defeat Summer at Fast Lane. Also at Fast Lane, Becky Lynch and Charlotte would meet in the Diva's Championship Tournament final and end in a draw. Sasha would be managed by Natalya, Becky would be managed by Paige, and Charlotte would be managed by Summer during this fantastic divas bout that ended after Charlotte submitted to Sasha's Bank Statement, allowing Sasha to retain the Diva's Championship.

10. WWE Championship

Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins ©

WrestleMania 32

Seth Rollins finally defeated his long time rival Bray Wyatt to win the WWE Championship at Survivor Series 2015. Unfortunately for Seth, his second WWE Championship reign would end almost quicker than his first as Seth's other long-time rival Roman Reigns cashed in his Money in the Bank contract, giving Reigns his first WWE Championship. Seth failed to win the WWE Championship at TLC against Roman and put his career on the line a match with both of his arch rivals at the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt. Seth would win his third WWE Championship and actually make it out of the show as WWE Champion.

Earlier in the night, Seth's Shield brethren Dean Ambrose won the Royal Rumble and came out to the ring again and gave Seth a hug after winning the WWE Championship. Seth would retain against all members of the Wyatt Family, including Bray at Fast Lane. The WrestleMania main event was set to be Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins, but Roman mentions that he never received a rematch and Triple H made the main event a triple threat between all three members of the former Shield. After the knock out, drag down brawl you could expect from the Shield in the WrestleMania, Seth Rollins retained his WWE Championship after countering a Dirty Deeds into the Curb Stomp and hitting a Curb Stomp on Reigns for the victory.

I'll try to include disc 2 and possibly 3 in a future post.
