Kijar Posted August 12, 2020 Share Posted August 12, 2020 Awesome first show man. I thought it was Hero (just saw Quest predicted that right away hahaha) and was so glad to be right. Quick Picks: Freshly Squeezed Trey Trey Brody Hero, though this will be good stat boost for Pillman Jr, the future of the industry I actually prefer Harry Smith in this one. Gresham is a workhorse though, and he puts on great ratings, so... I'll go for Gresham as he will be better to utilize on N2/3 Fenix x1000, so entertaining. Been bingeing Lucha U and he is such a standout. VeloCities, get them on the way to those tag belts Bandido/Horus are the better unit. Deppen eats the fall. Half of the tournament's first round took place, along with a couple of intriguing tag matches that will set up some of the action later tonight in Night 2.</p><p> </p><p> Most of the wrestlers who also work in either AAA or CMLL in Mexico weren't in attendance, with a couple of notable exceptions in Bandido and the returning Fénix. Cassidy must have picked up some pointers from Jurassic Express on how to deal with guys like Ugg. Both competitors got their big moments in this one, and it didn't overstay its welcome. The crowd ate it up. King didn't exactly deliver a five-star worthy performance, but it was hard for these two to get going. He's a polarizing character among fans, but he delivered a solid debut in PWG. While the VeloCities put in another strong performance together, the story of the match was Moretti pulling back his hand from a WARHORSE tag. Moretti laughed to himself as he walked away from the ring and exited, leaving his teammate and upcoming opponent to take even more damage and, ultimately, the loss. Deppen and Horus are squaring off in the first round on Night 2, and their collisions during this tag match should bode well for that showdown. Cobb looked fired up to get another chance to tangle with Bandido after that title loss in December. The King-Drake match was the only real dud, as there were still some good moments to take away from the Fénix-Swann match. Pillman and Smith had two of the best losing BOLA debuts possible.
