We cut to the parking lot where a long black limousine arrives. Out of the limo is Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Konnan, The Giant, Syxxx, Miss Elizabeth and Hollywood Hogan bringing up the rear. They all seem to be arguing as soon as they exit the car and continue the argument all the way into the building while the announcers put over that there is tension in the nWo

And there is apparently dissension and unhappiness in the air with the New World Order after last week’s bombshell of an announcement by James J Dillon. The nWo must compete in War Games against team World Championship Wrestling or Hollywood Hogan will be stripped of the WCW Title here tonight. The nWo must answer this ultimatum tonight, we are expecting that we will hear from Hogan and his cronies later on in this broadcast. The Hitman Bret Hart will speak with Mean Gene a little bit later on, Diamond Dallas Page is here and our featured contest tonight sees WCW Television Champion Goldberg defend his TV title and his streak against Wrath. But let's go to the ring for our opening contest here on Nitro.

CHRIS JERICHO VS CHAVO GUERRERO JR

Jericho and Chavo have a close encounter and Chavo shows that he is able to stand on his own two feet without his uncle. Chavo scores a close fall with a Powerbomb onto Jericho but then Jericho does a standing Enziguri and from there it’s largely Jericho’s match. When Chavo goes for a Top Rope Dropkick, Jericho grabs his legs and locks in the Liontamer for the submission victory.

After the match, Chris Jericho plays to the crowd and doesn’t see Eddie Guerrero slide into the ring and blind side Chris as he is on the top ropes. Chris falls from the top to the ring floor and Eddie suplexes Chris’ back onto the Guardrail before locking on the Lasso from El Paso. With the damage done, Eddie and Chavo leave as the announcers throw us to a commercial.

And they will fulfill all of her needs and if anyone knows anything about Tamara Sytch, it’s that she knows how to take tag teams to the top. So that is why they are here - to go straight to the top and take those tag team titles from Rick and Scott. Steiners, the 80’s have passed and their time is over. DEAN MALENKO AND JUVENTUD GUERERRA VS PSYCHOSIS AND LA PARKA

Juvie and Dean work as if they have been partners for years in a real symmetry of aerial and ground styles. After a error on a dive to the floor, Juvie is being beaten down by Psychosis and La Parka and La Parka uses a more mat based style in this match as well. Juvie kicks out of a pin attempt following a Psychosis Leg Drop and when La Parka goes for a Powerbomb, Juvie turns it into a Hurricanrana that propels La Parka into Malenko’s corner. From there Juvie tags in and Dean cleans house until he is double teamed. Juvie makes the save and Malenko hooks La Parka in the Texas Cloverleaf until the Chairman of WCW taps.

Page responds by knocking Adams on his ass and the two brawl before officials separate them. Page challenges Adams to a match later and Brian agrees and the match is made for our second hour.

A physical and tough match between two tough teams. There are near falls early but the ref has a hard time keeping up with the four men. Eventually it turns into a brawl that spills out onto the floor. The match ends in double count out for both teams as the fighting won’t stop and no one hears the 10 count.

Hour #2 kicks off with the Nitro set exploding just as The Hitman comes out to a loud ovation. He has a noticeable limp as he comes down to the ring and says that last Sunday he and Ric Flair finally have something in common. They both have been screwed by the nWo. And they both have been screwed by Hogan yet again.

Bret says the more things change, they stay the same. Because this is not the first time that Hogan has screwed over Bret Hart and held him down. And here we are again, in a different place, and Hogan is screwing Bret all over again. But now is the time to fight back.

Hollywood Hogan is desperate to hold onto that title. It is the only thing that matters to Hogan. It defines him, the only thing that makes Hogan live and breathe. So there is no way that Hollywood Hogan will let WCW take that title off of him. That means there is no way that the nWo will not accept WCW’s ultimatum tonight.

And that means there is no way that The Hitman will not miss the opportunity to get one more shot at breaking Hogan’s jaw. Bret says that if he is right and the nWo is forced to accept the demands of WCW, then Bret is making a demand of his own. Bret Hart demands that WCW puts Bret Hart inside the War Games and when they do, Hollywood Hogan can be assured that The Hitman will Excellently Execute his bald ass. Because The Hitman is the Best There is, The Best There Was and the Best That There Ever Will Be.

Hart leaves slapping the hands of the fans as the announcers put over that huge challenge. If the nWo is forced to accept, Bret Hart is demanding a spot in War Games.

Adams gets his licks in during the first half of the match and nearly scores a pinfall but Page battles into the match with haymakers in the corner. After slamming Page’s back into the ring post, Adams goes for the Heart Punch, but Page grabs Adams’ hand, spins him around and nails the Diamond Cutter for the 1...2..3.

Page says that is because the scrawny punk wants a fight. And Page is happy to oblige but he is not going to wait to get attacked or anything like that, what DDP just did to Brian Adams was a message to Syxxx. And so is this: Diamond Dallas Page is calling Syxxx out. It’s time to be a man, kid...and feel...the...BANG! Gene tells us not to go anywhere. When we come back Booker T is in action LIVE on Nitro.

Sherri and Douglas continue to make threats at Chris Benoit because he is the first vital piece of their stepping stone to their real end goal. To the person that wronged them both. And to what they’re really here for and at War Games, Benoit will hand over that United States title or The Franchise will cripple the Crippler.

BOOKER T VS SATURN

Booker and Saturn have a technical masterpiece early on in this match as both men try to use ground grappling and Drop Toe Holds and Leap Frogs and various other mat based wrestling moves. Both men score near falls and the match goes to commercial with Saturn locking in a Regal Stretch on Booker. Nitro returns from commercial with Booker reversing the Stretch into a Small Package that gets a two count. When Saturn goes for the Death Valley Driver, Booker grabs onto a rope and pulls himself off Saturn’s shoulders. Saturn charges right into a Book-End for the 1...2….3.

After the match, Mean Gene joins Booker in the ring but before he can utter a word, Ric Flair, Chris Benoit and Arn Anderson come out.

Benoit first accepts the challenge of Shane Douglas and promises to make Douglas’ return to WCW a short-lived one.

Then Arn gets to the point. The Horsemen have allowed Booker time to think it over, but they want an answer now. This is the time to step up and join the most elite group there ever has been or step aside. Will Booker join the Four Horsemen?

Booker says he thought long and hard about this. He agrees that this is an unbelievable honor and one that he may not yet be ready for. But if Ric Flair and Arn Anderson and Chris Benoit, three men the Booker respects the hell out of, wants him to stand with them? There really is no choice… The answer is yes.

They all shake hands and hug while Gene says it’s a new day for the Horsemen. Arn promises that the fourth man will be revealed soon. The Horsemen are getting stronger. Don’t go anywhere, when we come back - Goldberg in our featured contest LIVE on TNT.

Goldberg explodes with power early in the match but when he goes for a Spear, Wrath lifts his knee in Goldberg’s face and then shows some power of his own. Wrath hits a Powerslam onto Goldberg that actually gets a 2 count but then Goldberg Kips Up like the Incredible Hulk and when Wrath charges the champion, Goldberg explodes with a Spear. After a few tough kicks and punches to the head, Goldberg nails the Jackhammer for the 1...2...3.

After the match, Goldberg celebrates to the crowd but there is commotion in the crowd as they all realize something and are pointing behind Goldberg. When Goldberg turns, Kevin Nash boots the champ directly in the face. Suddenly the rest of the nWo are in the ring and swarm like Jackals over the TV champ.

Konnan hands Hogan a chair as the nWo grab Goldberg who is bucking like a wild animal and force the champ to stand. Hogan takes the chair and splits Goldberg’s skull wide open with it. Blood is pouring down the face of Goldberg and then Nash nails the Jackknife.

Hogan takes the mic and says that WCW thought they had backed the nWo into a corner so the nWo has no other option to say yes to WCW’s challenge, right? Fine, the nWo will agree to the War Games match….but that does not mean that the match will happen. You see, there can’t be a WCW vs nWo War Games match……. if WCW does not have a team! As Hogan says that, Nash lifts Goldberg up yet again and powerbombs him and then Savage comes off the top rope with the Big Elbow.

Hogan promises that anyone that steps up to the nWo and tries to join team WCW will experience what Goldberg is experiencing. And that includes Bret Hart, Hogan says Bret better reconsider because he’s next.

Hogan drops a leg drop on Goldberg who is unconscious as the announcers say if the nWo could put down Goldberg, there is no one in World Championship Wrestling that can stand to the nWo. Will there even be a team WCW? That is the question as Nitro goes off the air.

Schedule update:

With the holiday this past Monday, work is pretty slammed this week. Don’t expect Nitro before this Monday. Will attempt to get to it before then, but worst case scenario is that I’ll write it over the weekend.
