Former Glory Tag Crown contender Gihei Kanesaka has officially parted ways with PGHW, after signing a two year deal with BHOTWG. The 33-year old had produced some good performances this year, mostly teaming with Koryusai Kitoaji before an unsuccessful title shot against Inukai & Nakane. He wasn't included in last month's Elite Series, and was on the receiving end of a pinfall defeat in his last bout at "Night of PRIDE". Emerging UK youngsters Razor Valentine and Samurai Brown (otherwise known in the UK as "British Samurai") have been left off the touring roster for PGHW's sixteen show "GLORY" tour, commencing in May. The duo completed two series with PGHW, spending much of the time teaming up despite being bitter rivals in the UK. They were hamstrung somewhat with Valentine missing much of the back half of the "PRIDE" Series, but produced some decent performances - including a bout involving the likes of Kitoaji, Mito Miwa and Dragon Agakawa. It's not all doom and gloom at PGHW, with 27-year old "The Shooter" Craig Prince set to appear during May's "GLORY" Tour. After current Historical Japan Champion Nobuatsu Tatsuko complained about a lack of competition, the PGHW powers that be obliged by luring the two-time NOTBPW Canadian Champion across the Pacific. Prince is set to be introduced to Japanese audiences in singles action against Go Matsunaga, in a bout that will be televised on STV on May 18. Fantastic Elite Series and a great review post. I am loving this one and your graphics as always looks cool.

Thank you for the feedback - doing my best to make any new signings live up to BestForTheBusiness' renders!

Great elite series. I really enjoyed it and I'm glad Big Van Dread got the win.

Thank you - yes, he's producing some amazing matches across the board with literally everyone. He's red hot right now.

Congratulations on concluding a superb Elite Series! Fantastic Final+I enjoyed reading the overall Review also. Dread not only dominated the field but the match ratings as well. It'll be interesting to see if he does go on to claim the Glory Crown.

Thanks - always appreciate the support!

  • A low key start to the tour, with Club Dread continuing its recent run of good form with a win over a team including Kumasaka, Ichihara and Hasegawa. Diaz was this time the one picking up the pinfall, with Kumasaka and Ichihara distracted by his team mates - allowing Diaz to nail Hasegawa with a Choke Slam for the three.

  6. Nobuatsu Tatsuko & Raymond Diaz defeated Hito Ichihara & Hayate Hasegawa (13:50) with the Tatsuko Driller from Tatsuko to Hasegawa. [61]
  7. Koryusai Kitoaji, Yodo Nakane & Shuji Inukai defeated Club Dread (Dread & Lee Wright) & Kimitada Yanagita (19:56) with the Roaring Elbow from Kitoaji to Yanagita. [75]

  • A heck of a show in televised action, which was headlined by a competitve bout with Kitoaji and the tag champions Nakane and Inukai defeating Dread, Wright and Yanagita. Although not a member of Club Dread, Yanagita has been a sometimes partner of the gai-jin club, but much to Dread's fury he ate the pinfall as Kitoaji nailed him with an elbow. It's another frustrating defeat to Kitoaji by the Elite Series winner.
  • Elsewhere, Nobuatsu Tatsuko teamed up with Raymond Diaz to pick up the win over Ichihara and Hasegawa. In a surprise win of sorts, Tatsuko sent a message to his "Night of GLORY" opponent Craig Prince, with a Tatsuko Driller on Hasegawa.
  • Speaking of Prince, "The Shooter" made his PGHW debut with a win over the veteran Go Matsunaga. It wasn't Prince's best performance as he was clearly suffering from some nerves, but he managed to pick up a submission win over Matsunaga with his Katahajime.
  • In other news, former title contenders Kunomasu & Hoshino unveiled their new team name, "Codebreakers 1996", as they teamed up with former Historical Japan challenger Umehara to beat Kumasaka, Agakawa and Nagahama. "CB1996" also debuted a new finishing move to finish off Nagahama, called the "Enigma Machine" - Hoshino lifting Nagahama into a piledriver position, and Kunomasu coming down off the top rope to slam him down.

  4. Mito Miwa & Yoshimi Mushashibo defeated Kazuo Mitsushi & Koichi Kajiwara (12:27) with the Pride Bomber from Miwa to Kajiwara. [63]
  5. Craig Prince, Koji Kojima & Koki Ishibashi defeated Nobuatsu Tatsuko & Rebel Cell (Harumi Okazawaya & Sotatsu Sarumara) (15:48) with the Katahajime from Prince to Okazawaya. [63]
  6. Dread & Eisaku Hoshino defeated Koryusai Kitoaji & Dragon Agakawa (19:37) with the Dread Bomb from Dread to Agakawa. [68]
  7. Hito Ichihara, Danger Kumasaka & Hayate Hasegawa defeated Club Dread (Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz) & Kimitada Yanagita (15:46) with the Aurora Surfboard Vice from Kumasaka to Yanagita. [66]

  • The highlight of the show in Ogaki was the team of Dread & Hoshino teaming up to beat Kitoaji & Agakawa. It was an important win for Dread who has appeared stung by criticism of his record against Kitoaji, but he didn't get the pinfall over the former champion - settling instead for Dread Bomb on Agakawa.
  • Elsewhere, a furious Nobuatsu Tatsuko suffered defeat in his first bout against his title contender "The Shooter" Craig Prince. The two didn't get much of a chance to lay hands on each other, and Tatsuko could only watch on as Prince drew the submission from Okazawaya.

  7. Club Dread (Dread & Raymond Diaz) defeated Hito Ichihara & Koki Ishibashi (13:39) with the Dreadsault from Dread to Ishibashi. [73]

  • The crowd in Tokushima was treated to a couple of great bouts. In the main event, Dread and Diaz picked up a win over Ichihara and Ishibashi in a surprisingly entertaining main event, while elsewhere Tatsuko suffered his second defeat in as many nights - teaming up with Tanuma in a loss to Miwa and Mushashibo.

  6. Danger Kumasaka & Dragon Agakawa defeated Koryusai Kitoaji & Ninsei Tanuma (14:43) with the Dragon Driver from Agakawa to Tanuma. [59]
  7. Hito Ichihara, Yodo Nakane & Shuji Inukai defeated Club Dread (Dread, Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz) (22:23) with a Lariat from Inukai to Diaz. [75]

  • A huge main event in Wakayama, as Ichihara teamed up with the tag champions against the full Club Dread lineup. In a great which saw the continuation of some great rivalries, Inukai nailed Diaz with a pair of Lariats to keep the big man down for three. All six men argued after the match, and a re-match between the six men was set for PGHW "Road to Night of GLORY - Night 1" on May 27 in Nakajima.
  • Elsewhere, another rivalry continued to develop as Codebreakers 1996 teamed with Java to beat Miwa, Mushashibo and Inao. CB96 and Miwa & Mushashibo were the clear stars as they traded some heavy hits, but the win came from the savage Java who almost tore Inao in half with a Spear Tackle.

  6. Club Dread (Dread, Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz) defeated Danger Kumasaka, Dragon Agakawa & Hayate Hasegawa (13:54) with the Wright Stuff from Wright to Hasegawa. [69]

  • More good work from Club Dread, who continue to dominate this tour with a win over Kumasaka, Agakawa and Hasegawa. There was no love lost between Dread and Kumasaka who brawled for much of the bout - both inside and outside the ring - but it was Wright who finished the bout while the others were distracted, with poor old Hasegawa eating a Wright Stuff. The veteran Kumasaka continues to be unimpressed by Club Dread's antics, and was left further frustrated by their over the top post-match celebration.
  • Ichihara has recently taken young Sarumara under his wing, and got the chance to team up with Rebel Cell's Okazawaya and Sarumara in the biggest win of their respective careers over Miwa, Mushashibo and Tanuma. Ichihara carried much of the bout, and ultimately got the submission win over Tanuma.
  • Codebreakers 1996 continued their impressive tour, this time picking up a win over a team that included PGHW Glory Tag Crown Champion Yodo Nakane.

  • The best bout of the tournament so far, as Ichihara, Nakane and Inukai picked up the win over Tatsuko and Codebreakers 1996. This was a missed chance for CB1996 to prove themselves worthy of a title shot, although they fought valiantly before Nakane ended Kunomasu's night with a Brainbuster Suplex.

  6. Koryusai Kitoaji, Yodo Nakane & Shuji Inukai defeated Club Dread (Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz) & Kimitada Yanagita (23:29) with a Lariat from Inukai to Yanagita. [65]

  • Best match of the night on this occasion saw Dread team up with Codebreakers 1996 to beat Miwa, Mushashibo & Matsunaga. It's a continuation of the rivalry between CB1996 and Miwa & Mushashibo, which will see them do battle in televised action in the coming week. This time, though, it was Matsunaga who ate the pinfall.
  • Elsewhere, Tatsuko managed his first win in multi-man action over challenger "The Shooter" Craig Prince. It wasn't a great match, but the highlight saw Prince briefly catch Tatsuko in his Katahajime, only for Tatsuko to escape before it was properly locked in. Tatsuko ended the bout with his driller on Hasegawa.

PGHW: Full cards released for May 27 and 31 "Road to Night of GLORY" televised specials

TOKYO, Japan - While PGHW is still yet to announce a full card for “Night of GLORY” on Jun. 6, that could all change shortly with two blockbuster “Road to Night of GLORY” cards now set on May 27 and 31 - including a massive PGHW Glory Tag Crown match between Yodo Nakane & Shuji Inukai and Club Dread’s Lee Wright & Ray Diaz.

The May 27 card in Nakajima will be headlined by a big tour re-match, as the full Club Dread lineup faces Glory Crown champion Hito Ichihara and the tag champions Nakane & Inukai. The six most recently met in a great bout in Wakayama on May 22, but the stakes are higher this time as number one contender Dread battles Ichihara for the first time since the Elite Series finale, and Wright & Diaz look to put the finishing touches on their preparation in their first title shot since their loss to Nakane & Inukai in January.

In other action on May 27, Historical Japan champion Nobuatsu Tatsuko will team up with his “Night of GLORY” challenger “The Shooter” Craig Prince, as the pair take on high flying duo Koji Kojima & Koki Ishibashi. The pair have traded wins in multi-man action on their first tour, but will seek to put their differences aside against the masked duo. Elsewhere, Koryusai Kitoaji teams up with veteran Hayate Hasegawa against the aggressive powerhouse combo of Java and Kimitada Yanagita.

Then, on May 31, the tag titles will be on the line as Wright & Diaz look to avenge their loss in January against defending champions Inukai & Nakane. The inaugural champions from Club Dread have sought to rebuild over the past few months, and are now primed for a re-match against the popular Japanese duo. In other action, four young starlets do battle in tag-team action which could decide the next contenders for the Glory Tag Crown - as the impressive Codebreakers 1996 face Miwa & Mushashibo.

My recommendation would be to consolidate 3 or 4 tour shows into one post where you just go over the highlights, like you did here, just with more shows recapped ya know.

  2. Codebreakers 1996 (Eisaku Hoshino & Eisaku Kunomasu) & Ninsei Tanuma defeated Mito Miwa, Yoshimi Mushashibo & Amane Shunsen (14:33) with a Straightjacket Suplex from Tanuma to Shunsen. [63]
  3. Danger Kumasaka, Dragon Agakawa & Mamoru Nagahama defeated Go Matsunaga, Kazuo Mitsushi & Koichi Kajiwara (13:18) with a Dragon Driver from Agakawa to Kajiwara. [51]
  4. ”Odd Couple” Tag Team Match: Nobuatsu Tatsuko & Craig Prince defeated Koji Kojima & Koki Ishibashi (22:18) with the Katahajime from Prince to Kojima. [67]
  5. Koryusai Kitoaji & Hayate Hasegawa defeated Kimitada Yanagita & Takesi Umehara (22:22) with a Yakuza Kick from Hasegawa to Umehara. [64]
  6. Club Dread (Dread, Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz) defeated Hito Ichihara, Yodo Nakane & Shuji Inukai (26:24) with the Wright Stuff from Wright to Inukai. [74]

  • In one of the better matches of the night, Codebreakers 1996 teamed up with Ninsei Tanuma to beat Miwa, Mushashibo & Shunsen in a preview of the May 31 tag match between CB1996 and Miwa & Mushashibo. There was some great action all around, but ultimately Tanuma picked up the win with a suplex on Shunsen.
  • In the “Odd Couple” match, Tatsuko teamed up with his next singles opponent Prince to defeat the masked duo of Kojima & Ishibashi. It was a slightly underwhelming bout which was marked by each of Tatsuko and Prince trying to “one up” each other. Ultimately, Prince picked up the win as he forced Kojima to submit. After the bout, the champion and challenger nearly came to blows. [52]
  • Elsewhere, Hayate Hasegawa picked up the pinfall as he teamed with fellow veteran Koryusai Kitoaji, beating Kimitada Yanagita & Takesi Umehara (a late replacement for Java, who accepted an HGC booking). The younger team looked game in a prolonged contest, but a mistake from Umehara who missed a charge in the corner allowed Hasegawa to nail him with a Yakuza Kick for the three.
  • In the main event, Club Dread battled for the second time this tour against the championship trio of Ichihara, Nakane and Inukai. It just as good as their excellent match in Wakayama; Dread and Ichihara again the stand outs. Ultimately it was the gai-jin faction that avenged their loss from earlier this tour, as Inukai was momentarily distracted by Ray Diaz and walked straight into a pump kick from Wright, the “Wright Stuff” to give Club Dread the win. The focus after the match was on the tension between Club Dread and the tag champions ahead of their title bout on May 31. [51]

  4. Mito Miwa defeated Eisaku Kunomasu (13:48) with the Pride Bomber. [73]
  5. Hito Ichihara & Rebel Cell (Harumi Okazawaya & Sotatsu Sarumara) defeated Koryusai Kitoaji, Koji Kojima & Koki Ishibashi (15:46) with the Ichihara Armbar from Ichihara to Ishibashi. [63]
  6. Club Dread (Dread, Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz) defeated Yodo Nakane, Shuji Inukai & Yoriie Ippitsusai (16:09) with the Dread Bomb from Dread to Inukai. [74]

  • Some final tune ups for Night 2 of “Road to Night of GLORY” in the main event, as Club Dread picked up another win over the tag champions, who were this time joined by young lion (and Nakane protege) Ippitsusai. In a surprising result, Ippitsusai didn’t take the fall as Dread picked up another pinfall win over Inukai.
  • In other action, Ichihara teamed up with his Night 2 partners “Rebel Cell” with a win over rival Kitoaji and Koji & Koki. Ichihara has also taken Sarumara under his wing, and picked up the win for his side by forcing Ishibashi to tap to an armbar.
  • In a preview of their tag match on May 31, Mito Miwa picked up a win in the match of the night against youngster Eisaku Kunomasu. It was a great bout, and the tour could be treated to an even better one tomorrow night as their tag partners Mushashibo and Hoshino do battle.

  5. Yodo Nakane, Shuji Inukai & Mito Miwa defeated Danger Kumasaka, Ninsei Tanuma & Eisaku Kunomasu (14:45) with a Lariat from Inukai to Tanuma. [66]
  6. Eisaku Hoshino defeated Yoshimi Mushashibo (21:49) with a Godzilla Plunge. [76]

  • A heck of a main event in Aomori, as Hoshino and Mushashibo battled it out for more than 20 minutes. Hoshino’s partner Kunomasu lost in singles action to Miwa in the previous night, and Hoshino was keen to avenge both that loss as well as his singles defeat in Elite Series action in April. He was ultimately able to do so, reversing out of a piledriver attempt from Mushashibo to hit the Godzilla Plunge. Codebreakers 1996 do battle with Miwa & Mushashibo tomorrow night in a hotly anticipated tag bout.
  • After a couple of pinfall defeats in recent matches, Shuji Inukai got a win for his team as he hit a Lariat on Ninsei Tanuma.
  • Elsewhere, Club Dread members Wright & Diaz capped off some perfect preparation for their tag title bout, as they teamed up with Umehara to beat Kitoaji, Agakawa & Hasegawa in an upset of sorts! Diaz got the win for his team, as he pinned Hasegawa following a massive Ray Gun.

  4. Hito Ichihara & Rebel Cell (Harumi Okazawaya & Sotatsu Sarumara) defeated Go Matsunaga, Kazuo Mitsushi & Koichi Kajiwara (20:03) with a DDT from Okazawaya to Kajiwara. [54]
  5. Codebreakers 1996 (Eisaku Hoshino & Eisaku Kunomasu) defeated Mito Miwa & Yoshimi Mushashibo (23:30) with the Enigma Machine to Mushashibo. [72]
  6. Danger Kumasaka, Koryusai Kitoaji & Hayate Hasegawa defeated Dread, Kimitada Yanagita & Java (21:52) with a Roaring Elbow from Kitoaji to Java. [69]
  7. PGHW Glory Tag Crown: Yodo Nakane & Shuji Inukai © defeated Club Dread (Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz) (29:07) with a Brainbuster Suplex from Nakane to Wright (2nd defence). [68]

  • PGHW Historical Japan champion Nobuatsu Tatsuko has kept a low profile this tour, but he continues to build impressively ahead of his Jun. 6 title defence against Craig Prince. With “The Shooter” working dates in Canada, Tatsuko teamed with “Purple Flash” Ninsei Tanuma to beat veteran Dragon Agakawa and young lion Mamoru Nagahama. The impressive Nagahama showed great spirit, but couldn’t get the win for his team and ultimately fell to the Tatsuko Driller.
  • In a low key affair, Hito Ichihara teamed again with young pairing “Rebel Cell” to beat Matsunaga, Mitsushi & Kajiwara. Ichihara never really had to get out of first gear, and watched on with some pride as Okazawaya pinned fellow young lion Kajiwara with a DDT. It was the fifth time the trio had teamed this tour, and no doubt the rebellious pairing will want to continue that partnership.
  • One of the real highlights this tour has been the rivalry between the four young starlets Hoshino, Kunomasu, Miwa and Mushashibo. The tag contest between them didn’t quite live up to all that hype, but it was still a barnstorming technical bout between four of PGHW’s best young wrestlers. Ultimately, the duo of Hoshino & Kunomasu - “Codebreakers 1996” - picked up the win as they hit an isolated Mushashibo with an Enigma Machine.
  • In the co-main event, the veteran trio Kumasaka, Kitoaji & Hasegawa picked up the win over Elite Series winner Dread, Kimitada Yanagita & Java. Dread was the stand out for much of the bout, and continued his bitter rivalry with Kitoaji and Kumasaka in some short exchanges. Ultimately, though, Kitoaji picked up the win for his team as he hit Java with a Roaring Elbow. Needless to say, Dread was furious after the bout after suffering another loss to Kitoaji, who continues to undermine his good form of late.
  • In the main event, Yodo Nakane & Shuji Inukai completed their second defence of the PGHW Glory Tag Crown following a prolonged bout with former champions Wright & Diaz in the main event in Miyagi! In front of a packed crowd, the defending champions capped off an impressive night in a hard hitting bout which saw the “Club Dread” team go close to winning the titles on a number of occasions. Ultimately, though, it was the veteran Nakane who finished the bout as he hit Wright with a Brainbuster Suplex - Diaz falling just short of breaking up the pin.
  • After the bout, all hell broke loose. Wright & Diaz were joined by their leader Dread in a beatdown of their opponents, before Kitoaji & Ichihara came out for the save. But just when they thought the threat had passed - Codebreakers 1996 came out and took their chance to ambush the tag team champions, hitting both of them with their Enigma Machine and turning the tables in favour of Club Dread. After some tense moments, Danger Kumasaka then hobbled out from the back and evened the numbers as the brawling continued. That finally brought Sadaharu Jimbo out who announced the main event at “Night of GLORY” on Jun. 6 - a star-studded 5 vs. 5 Survival Style Match! [72]

  • Frustration for Dread in the main event, as he teamed up with Codebreakers 1996 in a losing effort against a stat-studded team of Kumasaka, Inukai & Nakane. The big gai-jin looked increasingly agitated from the outside, and could only look on in horror as Inukai nailed Kunomasu with a huge lariat for the win.
  • Elsewhere, Dread's stable mate Lee Wright teamed with Java & Yanagita to beat Hito Ichihara & Rebel Cell. Ichihara continued to team with the young pairing, but couldn't do enough to help his team to the win as a fearsome spear tackle from Java ended Sotatsu Sarumara..
  • Finally, "The Shooter" Craig Prince got another win in multi-man action over his "Night of GLORY" opponent Tatsuko, teaming up with Kitoaji & Hasegawa and drawing a submission from Kajiwara with his fearsome Katahajime.

  5. Nobuatsu Tatsuko & Eisaku Hoshino defeated Hito Ichihara & Craig Prince (20:19) with a Tatsuko Blind Kick from Tatsuko to Prince. [68]
  6. Koryusai Kitoaji, Mito Miwa & Yoshimi Mushashibo defeated Dread, Kimitada Yanagita & Java (23:29) with a Kitoaji Braindrop from Kitoaji to Yanagita. [76]

  • Dread's frustration continued in the main event in Yamanashi, as he teamed with Yanagita & Java against the team of Kitoaji, Miwa & Mushashibo. Dread has had very little luck against Koryusai Kitoaji as of late, and was horrified as the former champion pinned Yanagita to win the match. After the bout, a furious Dread attacked Yanagita before hitting him with a Dread Bomb - Yanagita's partner Java simply deciding to stand by and watch. [53]
  • In Prince's last bout before his Jun. 6 title match, he was shockingly pinned by the champion Tatsuko. It was devious work from Tatsuko, though, who found himself on the back foot against Prince, only for his partner Eisaku Hoshino to distract the American in the corner. That gave Tatsuko enough time to recover and hit his Blind Kick out of nowhere for the three count.
  • Hayate Hasegawa gave Koki Ishibashi a rare singles match, winning with a Yakuza Kick. Ishibashi has developed a good fan base of late, but showed he still has some work to do in becoming a solid singles wrestler.

  6. Club Dread (Dread, Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz) defeated Mito Miwa, Yoshimi Mushashibo & Dragon Agakawa (15:09) with a Dreadsault from Dread to Agakawa. [78]

  • An excellent main event to end the tour, as the full complement of Club Dread beat the team of Agakawa, Miwa & Mushashibo in fast-paced bout. Much of the bout saw the youngster Mushashibo isolated against his opponents, but a hot tag to the veteran Agakawa briefly turned the match his team's way. Unfortunately for him, he was clobbered by Dread and beaten with a Dreadsault.
  • It wasn't all pretty in the final tour show, though, as Koki Ishibashi landed awkwardly in a suplex from Tatsuko. Tatsuko, who is normally known for being very smooth, didn't hit his vertical suplex to perfection, as Ishibashi landed on his shoulder. Fortunately, he's not likely to miss a lot of time, but his high flying style may be limited for the near future.
  • Elsewhere, Yanagita & Java suffered another disappointing defeat - this time to the PGHW Glory Tag Crown Champions Nakane & Inukai. In a non-title bout, Yanagita did his best but fell victim to Nakane's patented Brainbuster Suplex. After the bout, the normally impassive Java took a leaf out of Dread's book - nailing Yanagita with a spear tackle, and surely ending their working relationship for good.

I don’t know much about the scene in Japan but my first look at this is pretty impressed. I’ll have to go catch up and start my Cverse in Japan education

My recommendation would be to consolidate 3 or 4 tour shows into one post where you just go over the highlights, like you did here, just with more shows recapped ya know.

Club Dread is such a fantastic faction.

Thank you all for the kind feedback! The main event scene is taking shape, but I'd like to do a bit more with the lower card going forward. I'm not sure how true to reality that is, but I'm aiming for a little less filler on the big events going forward.

I really like Club Dread and would like to add to their ranks if possible.

PGHW: Blockbuster ten-man bout to headline GLORY Series finale

TOKYO, Japan - PGHW's fourth tour of the year comes to a head at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan on Jun. 6, as "Night of GLORY" is headlined by a star-studded ten-man elimination bout.

The main event sees rampant gai-jin trio Club Dread join forces with electric young tag team Codebreakers 1996, against a venerable who's who of Japanese wrestling - "Team Glory", consisting of PGHW Glory Crown Champion Hito Ichihara, former champion Koryusai Kitoaji, legend Danger Kumasaka and PGHW Glory Tag Crown Champions Yodo Nakane & Shuji Inukai.

This bout is full of stories. Since winning the Elite Series in May, Dread has been thwarted at every turn by the former champion Kitoaji, who many consider to be the rightful winner of the Elite Series. That view has infuriated Dread, who has been on the receiving end of a series of multi-man defeats the former champion this tour, including most recently on Jun. 3. That loss prompted him to teach his losing partner Kimitada Yanagita a lesson after the match, nailing him with a devastating Dread Bomb.

The hulking American has also made enemies in recent months in the form of the champion Ichihara (who forced him to pass out to a Triangle Choke in February) and the veteran Kumasaka (who somewhat reluctantly came to Kitoaji's aid as a furious Dread attacked during the Elite Series). While their hatred of Dread has united them tonight, there are still questions as to the strength of that bond: Kumasaka spent much of February and March chasing the Glory Crown with his devastating Aurora Surfboard Vice, while the history between Ichihara and Kitoaji scarcely needs repeating.

Finally, while much of the focus has been on Dread's rivalries with Ichihara, Kitoaji and Kumasaka, the tag champions Nakane & Inukai find themselves facing two rival teams: the former champions Wright & Diaz and the upstarts Hoshino & Kunomasu. Nakane & Inukai again denied Wright & Diaz in their title defence on May 31, and their reaction to that loss prompted an all-out brawl which forced Sadaharu Jimbo to make this match. Elsewhere, Hoshino & Kunomasu are looking to further their case for a title shot having overcome impressive opposition in Mushashibo & Miwa on May 31.

In other action, "The Iron Man" Nobuatsu Tatsuko puts his Historical Japan title on the line for the 26th time against "The Shooter" Craig Prince. At the start of the tour, Tatsuko pleaded for more competition for his title having gone close to making the Elite Series final, and was rewarded in the form of the former two-time NOTBPW Canadian Champion. In his first run in Japan, Prince has caused fear throughout the ranks with his katahajime chokehold, and he and Tatsuko have exchanged victories throughout multi-man matches this tour. Most recently, though, Tatsuko showed his wiliness - catching a distracted Prince with a blind kick for a confidence boosting win.

Elsewhere, the dangerous Pacific Islander Java faces off against former tag team partner Kimitada Yanagita in a grudge match. The pair have teamed regularly throughout their time in PGHW, but recent losses from Yanagita saw him attacked by a furious Dread following their bout on Jun. 3 with Java simply watching on. The pair teamed up again the following night with Yanagita losing again - this time prompting Java to end their working relationship for good with a brutal Spear Tackle! This one is not for the faint of heart.

I heard Steve Flash and the DeColts are available!

I will keep them in mind! I've not had a lot of luck with some of my foreign signings (Craig Prince has been a bit of a letdown so far - but we will see how he goes against Tatsuko!), but with a steady stream of talent leaving I will need to refresh the roster soon.

I've just caught up with all the happenings during the "Glory" Tour, and what a great tour it was. "Night of GLORY" is looking set to be a fantastic show. I look forward to seeing the outcome of the 5 vs. 5 Survival Match. You've got so many interesting dynamics at play in that one, It'll be interesting to see what you have planned!

<strong>Amane Shunsen & Rebel Cell (Harumi Okazawaya & Sotatsu Sarumara) vs. Go Matsunaga, Hirokumi Saito & Takesi Umehara</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Rebel Cell spent much of the tour teaming with PGHW Glory Crown champion Hito Ichihara, so they could be forgiven for viewing the 25-year old daredevil Shunsen as a bit of a downgrade. They came up against a team including the veterans Matsunaga and Umehara, who were teaming with the youngster Saito. In an at times disjointed bout, Okazawaya picked up the win for his team as he hit Saito with a double underhook suplex for the three count.</p><p> </p><p>

Amane Shunsen & Rebel Cell (Harumi Okazawaya & Sotatsu Sarumara) defeated Go Matsunaga, Hirokumi Saito & Takesi Umehara <strong>(11:33)</strong> with a Double Underhook Suplex from Okazawaya to Saito. <strong>[38]</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>”The Pride Warrior” Mito Miwa, Yoshimi Mushashibo & Fukusaburu Inao*vs. “Purple Flash” Ninsei Tanuma, Kazuo Mitsushi & Koichi Kajiwara</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Despite their setback against Codebreakers 1996 on May 31, Miwa & Mushashibo have shown great chemistry as a team of late. That continued in multi-man action here, as they teamed with solid young technical wrestler Fukusaburu Inao to beat the team of Tanuma, Mitsushi & Kajiwara. While the flashy “Pride Warrior” Miwa put in an impressive performance, it was the 21-year Mushashibo who was the clear stand out. After some reasonable action, including some exciting exchanges with the 45-year old veteran Mitsushi and “Purple Flash” Tanuma, Mushashibo forced Mitsushi to submit with a brutal looking Yoshimi Lock.</p><p> </p><p>

Mito Miwa, Yoshimi Mushashibo & Fukusaburu Inao*defeated Ninsei Tanuma, Kazuo Mitsushi & Koichi Kajiwara <strong>(18:05)</strong> with a Yoshimi Lock (Cobra Clutch Crossface) from Mushashibo to Tanuma. <strong>[60]</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Java vs. “The Dog of War” Kimitada Yanagita</strong></p><p> </p><p>

A once promising tag team of like-minded individuals, Java and Yanagita spectacularly blew up late this tour following a series of defeats suffered by “The Dog of War” Yanagita. As a result, they looked to put their differences to bed here in Tokyo. In an ugly but mercifully short bout, Java made his first big statement since joining PGHW as the Indonesian brawler dominated his more experienced Japanese opponent. After beating him up inside and outside the ring, Java put an end to the misery after just five minutes with two Spear Tackles to pick up the win.</p><p> </p><p>

Java defeated Kimitada Yanagita <strong>(5:01)</strong> with a Spear Tackle. <strong>[35]</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dragon Agakawa & Mamoru Nagahama vs. Hayate Hasegawa & Koji Kojima</strong></p><p> </p><p>

What looked on paper to be a thrown together match of sorts proved, in practice, to look like a thrown together match. At 52, Agakawa is the oldest man on the roster, with 46-year old Hasegawa not far behind. Their best days as wrestlers are passed them, but they looked to pass on some knowledge to two promising young talents - Agakawa to the aggressive technical beefcake Nagahama, and Hasegawa to the impressive high flyer Kojima, who was without his injured partner Koki Ishibashi. The four were given sixteen minutes to play with, which on reflection was probably too long. But both Nagahama and Kojima acquitted themselves well, before the veteran Agakawa hit Kojima with a Dragon Driver to pick up a hard fought win for his team.</p><p> </p><p>

Dragon Agakawa & Mamoru Nagahama defeated Hayate Hasegawa & Koji Kojima <strong>(16:14)</strong> with a Dragon Driver (Inverted DDT) from Agakawa to Kojima. <strong>[41]</strong></p><p> </p><p>

_______________________________________________</p><p> </p><p>

After the bout, Agakawa congratulated his bigger and younger partner Nagahama on a good performance, as the 22-year old arguably produced the most impressive individual performance on the night and continues to improved. He was also clearly impressed by the masked Kojima, shaking his opponent’s hand following the bout in a sign of real respect. <strong>[42]</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>”The Iron Man” Nobuatsu Tatsuko © vs. “The Shooter” Craig Prince</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After recently hitting an incredible two years as Historical Japan champion, Tatsuko faced off in his first one-on-one match against his latest contender, the hard nosed American Craig Prince. Prince, who plies his trade with NOTBPW in Canada, had shown some impressive submission skills throughout the tour, choking out a series of opponents in multi-man action with his “Katahajime” chokehold. But in his most recent bout he was distracted for long enough for Tatsuko to clock him with a Blind Kick for a surprise pinfall win.</p><p> </p><p>

The two technicians started the bout slowly, each looking to find the other’s weakness in a tense opening. But it was Tatsuko who made the first real move, quickly taking control of the match with some heavy uppercuts. The American’s early attempts at regaining control through his wrestling were blocked by his bigger and physically stronger opponent. But he eventually managed to duck under an attempted Tatsuko Blind Kick from the champion, sending Tatsuko sprawling across the ring with a shoulder charge.</p><p> </p><p>

From there the action started to pick up, as “The Shooter” lifted his intensity and landed a series of impressive suplexes on the champ. Not to be outdone, Tatsuko leant into his developing grappling game, and went close to a pinfall as he hit Prince with a double under hook suplex. But it wasn’t enough to keep Prince down, who soon again manage to wrest control from Tatsuko - surprising “The Iron Man” with a super kick of his own.</p><p> </p><p>

As the match entered its final stages, Prince made the biggest move of the match as he looked to lock in his Katahajime chokehold on Tatsuko. The champion fought off the first couple of attempts, but after missing with a lariat attempt was caught by the challenger and the choke looked deep! But after worn down to one knee, the champion used all remaining strength to slam “The Shooter” to break the hold.</p><p> </p><p>

A furious Prince waited while Tatsuko returned to his feet, but this time his attempted Katahajime was thwarted by a Tatsuko Blind Kick out of nowhere. That staggered the challenger, and gave Tatsuko just enough time to spring back to his feet and nail the American with a Tatsuko Driver - delivering him a pinfall victory and a 26th defence of the Historical Japan Title.</p><p> </p><p>

Nobuatsu Tatsuko defeated Craig Prince <strong>(24:53)</strong> with the Tatsuko Driller to retain the PGHW Historical Japan Title. <strong>[76]</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Club Dread (Dread, Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz) & Codebreakers 1996 (Eisaku Hoshino & Eisaku Kunomasu) vs. Team Glory (Danger Kumasaka, Koryusai Kitoaji, Hito Ichihara, Shuji Inukai & Yodo Nakane)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

That left only the main event with ten of the leading wrestlers in all of PGHW doing battle in a 5 vs. 5 Survival Match. In one corner, the hated stable of Club Dread teamed with the opportunistic local tag team Codebreakers 1996 to take on a series of PGHW’s most popular wrestlers - Ichihara, Kitoaji, Kumasaka, Nakane and Inukai, who had collectively named themselves “Team Glory” for this bout, in recognition of one of the key attributes that PGHW stands for.</p><p> </p><p>

The format of this match simple - both normal multi-man rules applied, but the match was to continue until all wrestlers from one team had either been pinned, submitted, disqualified or countered out. In this sense, it differed from the tag survival match which occurred at “Night of DESTINY” in March.</p><p> </p><p>

The bout started with two of the lesser lights, as the giant American Ray Diaz faced off against tag champion Shuji Inukai. As expected in a match of this kind, Diaz took control for the quasi-heel team in the early stages, as Inukai found himself stranded in his corner for a long stretch as various Club Dread members and Codebreakers 1996 members were tagged in and out of the match.</p><p> </p><p>

After a long stretch of being dominated and gaining the crowd’s sympathy, the hard-hitting Inukai managed to duck under an attempted clothesline from Eisaku Kunomasu - a potential challenger to his Glory Tag Crown - and knock the mysterious youngster down with a running knee. That gave him enough to scramble to his team’s corner and tag in the veteran Kumasaka to get the match properly underway.</p><p> </p><p>

After some more action, the first elimination came at the 12 minute mark - and it was a surprise of sorts, as the popular veteran and other half of the tag champions, Yodo Nakane, was nailed with a massive Dread Bomb from Dread. <strong>Yodo Nakane was eliminated.</strong> He was followed soon after by his tag partner Inukai, who was on the receiving end of a Godzilla Plunge from Eisaku Hoshino - leaving the tag champions eliminated, and Team Glory down to three men. <strong>Shuji Inukai was eliminated.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Team Glory knew they needed to find their way back into the bout, but standing in their way for a stretch was the giant Diaz. Despite his inexperience, Diaz’s size and strength was proving difficulty for the veteran Japanese trio to counter, and indeed it took all three of them to combine to finally shift him from his feet! After fighting his way out of a Choke Slam attempt, the veteran Kumasaka threw himself off the ropes to nail the big man with an enormous Lariat and earning his team’s first pinfall! <strong>Raymond Diaz was eliminated.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

But just when the odds looked closer to being levelled, Dread took it upon himself to enter the ring and immediately nail the recovering PGHW legend with a Dread Bomb, again extending his team’s advantage to two with just six men left. <strong>Danger Kumasaka was eliminated.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Kumasaka’s elimination left bitter rivals and PGHW originals Ichihara & Kitoaji facing an enormous challenge against two members of Club Dread and both members of Codebreakers 1996. With the numbers stacked in their favour, Wright combined with Kunomasu to isolate Ichihara in the corner and look to wear the Glory Crown champion down.</p><p> </p><p>

But after limited involvement all match, Kunomasu gave Ichihara the opening he and Kitoaji needed - the champion reversing an attempted backdrop into a German Suplex, which he held onto to get the pinfall. <strong>Eisaku Kunomasu was eliminated.</strong> Incredibly, Lee Wright followed soon after - being caught flush by a Roaring Elbow from Kitoaji and all of a sudden the odds were even again. <strong>Lee Wright was eliminated.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

As the match continued to progress, Dread became more and more aggressive against his two hated foes. But he could only look on in disbelief as what was a two man advantage turned into a one man deficit - Eisaku Hoshino’s attempted top rope splash missing the mark, which allowed Ichihara to land his Head Drop Suplex to end a spirited run from the youngster. <strong>Eisaku Hoshino was eliminated.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Hoshino’s elimination sent Dread into a rage, as he looked to fight off both Ichihara & Kitoaji. For a moment he looked like he had done it, too - nailing Kitoaji with a Dread Bomb and then dragging Ichihara in off the apron and hitting him with a Dread Bomb too! But ultimately the numbers finally overwhelmed him - the match culminating with a rare top rope drop kick from Ichihara which sent the American stumbling into the path of a Roaring Elbow from Kitoaji. That was enough to keep him down for the count, give Team Glory an amazing come-from-behind win and leave the uneasy allies Ichihara & Kitoaji standing tall as the survivors! <strong>Dread was eliminated. Ichihara & Kitoaji were the remaining survivors!</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Danger Kumasaka, Koryusai Kitoaji, Hito Ichihara, Shuji Inukai & Yodo Nakane defeated Club Dread (Dread, Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz) & Codebreakers 1996 (Eisaku Hoshino & Eisaku Kunomasu) <strong>(34:05)</strong>. <strong>[68]</strong></div></p><p> </p><p>

PGHW Glory Crown Champion <strong>Hito Ichihara</strong> and Elite Series runner up <strong>Koryusai Kitoaji</strong> were the remaining survivors in the 5 vs. 5 main event at "PGHW Night of GLORY" at the Nippon Budokan. In a slightly underwhelming main event, Ichihara & Kitoaji delivered the win for Team Glory, after their team mates Kumasaka, Nakane & Inukai fell earlier in the match to put their team down 4-2. It was a bitter blow for the <strong>Dread</strong>, who has suffered a series of frustrating losses against Kitoaji in particular, whose form continues to cast doubt on the bona fides of Dread's Elite Series win. Elsewhere: in the best match of the night, Tatsuko defended his Historical Japan title against Prince (see below); Agakawa & Nagahama defeated Hasegawa & Kojima; Java beat Yanagita in little over five minutes (see below); Miwa, Mushashibo & Inao had a win; and Shunsen & Rebel Cell beat Matsunaga, Saito & Umehara.</td></span></p><tr><td style="width: 100px;"> </td><td style="width: 156.033px;"><p><img src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/tIW6mIv.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/tIW6mIv.jpg"</a> alt="" width="150" height="150" /></td><td style="text-align: left; vertical-align: top;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Yanagita joins BHOTWG</span></strong></p><p>

"The Dog of War" <strong>Kimitada Yanagita</strong>'s rapid decline during PGHW's GLORY Series, which culminated in a five minute defeat at the hands of <strong>Java</strong>, finally makes sense after he recently debuted on the second day of BHOTWG's "Junior Elite Tour" in Asahikawa. Yanagita spent much of the year teaming with Java in tag team action, before being given a surprise spot in the prestigious Elite Series. Fresh off a fantastic performance against Nobuatsu Tatsuko in title action at "Night of GLORY", we understand that "The Shooter" <strong>Craig Prince</strong> will not return to action during the "WARRIORS" Series which begins later this month. Prince, who typically plies his trade with Canadian outfit NOTBPW, had a mixed tour as he seemed to struggle to adapt to the Japanese style at times, but came into his own in an instant classic match of the night at the Tokyo Budokan. "Night of GLORY" was a great read. I especially enjoyed the Historical Japan Title match with Tatsuko and Prince. The 5 vs. 5 Survival Match really delivered too, especially that ending with the uneasy alliance between Ichihara and Kitoaji being required to pull off the victory. That was some fine storytelling. I look forward to the "WARRIORS" Series!

PGHW: Title shot on the line as Dread vs. Kitoaji to meet on Jul. 25 at "Night of WARRIORS"

TOKYO, Japan - One of 1997's biggest rivalries is set to come to an explosive head on Jul. 25, with former Glory Crown Champion Koryusai Kitoaji set to meet Elite Series winner Dread in one-on-one action at PGHW's "WARRIORS" Series finale. The prize is enormous, with Dread agreeing to put his guaranteed PGHW Glory Crown shot on the line - a shot he won in the inaugural Elite Series.

Although neither man has ever been a fan of the other, their heated rivalry really kicked into gear during the inaugural Elite Series on Apr. 6, where Kitoaji stunned the Hijemi Welfare Hall with a Sunset Flip to clinch victory over the then undefeated Dread. Enraged, the monster attacked Kitoaji was such ferocity after the bout that, even with Hito Ichihara and Danger Kumasaka coming to his aid, he was reduced to one leg and unable to compete the following night against Nobuatsu Tatsuko.

Ultimately, Dread went on to claim the Elite Series - and an automatic title shot - at "Night of PRIDE", facing Kitoaji a matter of minutes after the former champion had been taken to a Time Limit Draw in a gruelling Round Robin bout with the reigning Glory Crown Champion, Ichihara.

The Apr. 6 attack made the Club Dread leader one of the most hated men in Japanese wrestling. But, much to the big man's humiliation, in many fans' minds it also left an asterisk against his ultimate triumph in the Elite Series. To many, Kitoaji's forfeit against Tatsuko was unjust and robbed him of the chance to claim an outright Elite Series lead - and, potentially, the chance of facing Dread at full fitness, rather than shortly after an exhausting showdown with his fiercest rival Ichihara.

Since then, Dread's fury and humiliation has only grown. He was on the receiving end of a series of televised defeats against Kitoaji during the recent "GLORY" Series, one of which prompted Dread to attack one of his partners, the now departed Kimitada Yanagita, following their loss at Miyagi Sports Centre on May 31. Most recently, Kitoaji got a pinfall victory over Dread himself - catching him with his patented Roaring Elbow at "Night of GLORY" on Jun. 6 to win the 5 vs. 5 Survival Match for "Team Glory". That defeat, it seems, was enough to get Dread to snap and agree to put his guaranteed title shot at stake.

Now, PGHW owner Saduharu Jimbo has announced the two will meet in an enormous singles bout at the conclusion of PGHW's upcoming "WARRIORS" Series on Jul. 25, which has clear implications on the future of the Glory Crown. With an incredible 21 shows between now and that night, Kitoaji can be sure he will have the chance to test himself against the massive American. But with Dread likely to be supported at every turn by his cronies Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz, Kitoaji would do well to find himself some friends.

Gakusha in PGHW (despite being a young lion for now) is going to be great stuff.

Gakusha and Rebellion are great signings for PGHW. I am thoroughly enjoying the stuff.

Hiroyasu Gakusha in PGHW is something! I like the idea of him being in Pride, I think he's a good fit. But I have to say I don't like his render you're using for him:p I'm super into his majestic hair lol

You continue to put out an excellent product with this diary. The aesthetic is perfect, the write ups are great. Keep up the great work.

Thank you all for the feedback! I was happy with the way Night of GLORY turned out, even if the match ratings aren't necessarily following suit...

I must admit, I have very little knowledge of the default "present day" C-Verse data, so actually did not know who Gakusha and Rebellion are before receiving these messages (so if this is sacrilege - I'm sorry)! I will do my best to try and hire some wrestlers more associated with PGHW as well - and I will also try to fix up Gakusha's render (it was the best I could do with the materials I had available - he's only 18, so there's still time for his locks to grow).

EDIT: New (and hopefully improved) Gakusha:

<p>I like the new and improved Gakusha much more <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I'm so in for Hito Ichihara vs. Nobuatsu Tatsuko man. I can't see a titlechange here to be honest while Tatsuko being the Historical Japan champion and PGHW being a conservative promotion. Like I said I'm into the match itself, it will be a test for Tatsuko tho.</p>
