NJPW Destruction in Kobe Post-Show Comments

UCn6Aec.jpgQjQyloX.jpg

Dax Harwood (in English): "That right there is why we're the top guys in any company we step foot in! Aussie Open, LIJ, two great tag teams, but you can't top FTR!"

Cash Wheeler (in English): "Listen boys, I know you might be a little salty that y'all weren't involved in the finish, so we'll make it up to you. Shingo, SANADA, we're giving you an open contract for a title match against us!

Dax: "Yeah, whether it be stateside on Dynamite or here in Japan, we want you two in the ring face to face. You two may be Japan's top tag team, but that doesn't really matter, because me & Cash are the best team in the entire world!"

Cash: "Top guys out."

KUSHIDA: "Can't say I'm not disappointed in losing to Okada tonight, but you know what, we've been on a roll recently and no loss to Okada is going to stop that!"

Shota Umino: "Well said, me & Karl over here took care of two former IWGP Tag Team Champions tonight and hey, whoever wins that dick-measuring contest between FTR and LIJ, me & Karl are waiting for you!"

Karl Fredericks (in English): "Listen, KUSHIDA, Shota, & I, we're still the dominant force in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. We're going to regroup and become better than ever."

KUSHIDA: "I'll make this promise right here, at this time next year, we'll have gold and we'll show NJPW why DEATH RIDERS are not to be scoffed at!"

Kazuchika Okada: "How sweet it is! You know how good it feels to beat a man who's had mine and CHAOS's number for the last few months? It feels amazing! KUSHIDA! You're one hell of a fighter and you're two buddies may be gunning for me sooner rather than later, but for now there's only one ace in NJPW and his name is Kazuchika Okada!

As for what's next for me, I really don't know. I'm doing a lot of training for whoever faces me at Wrestle Kingdom. Whether that be the man I beat last year in Will Ospreay or the guy I beat at Wrestling Dontaku in Jay White, I know Wrestle Kingdom will end with the 'Rainmaker' on top!"

NJPW New Japan Road Tour Night One- October 2nd, 2022

Satoshi Kojima Retirement Show

Attendance: 2,005 at Korakuen Hall (Tokyo, Japan)

Commentary Team: Shinpei Nogami & Milano Collection A.T.

-United Empire's Aaron Henare & Aussie Open defeated young lions Ryohei Oiwa, Yuto Nakashima, & Kosei Fujita in nothing more than a squash match. Henare completely wiped the floor with the three young lions, finishing off Fujita with the Streets of Rage (Fisherman Brainbuster) in just under eight minutes. (63/C)

-Six or Nine defeated DOUKI & Yoshinobu Kanemaru in a decent match. In a preview of the upcoming Super Junior Tag League (starting right after King of Pro Wrestling), Taguchi & Wato put on a good effort against Suzuki-gun's junior heavyweight tag team. In the end, Wato finished off DOUKI with the RPP in just under 14 minutes. During the match, Rocky Romero appeared on commentary and promised that a new tag team was coming to debut in the Super Junior Tag League in a few weeks! (61/C)

-FTR & Claudio CSRO defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon's Shingo Takagi, SANADA, & Hiromu Takahashi in a good match. With FTR officially facing Shingo & SANADA at King of Pro Wrestling, the four men tore into each other for nearly 17 minutes. Elsewhere, CSRO and Hiromu put on a hell of a fight against each other, with Hiromu taking the number one contender to the NEVER Openweight Championship to his limit. However, things came to a close when CSRO hit Hiromu with a surprise Swiss Death to get the win for his team. (80/B)

-Sabre-gun's Zack Sabre Jr. & El Desperado defeated CHAOS's Kazuchika Okada & YOH in a good match. Sabre, in his second match since disposing of Minoru Suzuki, put on an excellent performance against the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. After nearly 18 minutes of action, Sabre was able to catch Okada and lock him in the Orienteering With Napalm Death! Okada had no choice but to tap out, giving Sabre-gun the win. After the match, Sabre continued assault Okada, hitting him with multiple Penalty Kicks. He then grabbed a microphone and challenged him to an IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match at King of Pro Wrestling! At the post match press conference, Okada accepted the challenge. (79/B)

Jay White & SHO vs Satoshi Kojima & Yuji Nagata

Bullet Club's Jay White & SHO defeated Satoshi Kojima & Yuji Nagata in Kojima's retirement match to close the show. This one was an emotional affair, with Kojima getting showered with streamers before the match even began. Once the match began though, Kojima reverted to his early/mid 2000's prime, taking out White and SHO with a wide variety of power moves. Hell, he even started using the moves of his old tag partners, hitting White with a Tenzan-esque TTD and hitting SHO with a Manabu Nakanishi-esque Mana Bauer (Argentine Backbreaker into German suplex). However, after nearly 20 minutes of action, things came to an end when he tried hitting SHO with the LARIATOOOOOO!!!, but SHO ducked it and hit Kojima with a hurricanrana. SHO then picked up Kojima and hit him with the Shock Arrow for the win.

After the match ended, Bullet Club and Nagata vacated the ring for Kojima to soak in the approval of the Korakuen crowd. The crowd chanted "THANK YOU KOJIMA!" as Kojima damn near broke down in tears. He eventually did though when his former tag partners, Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Manabu Nakanishi, made their way down to the ring. The two men hugged Kojima before raising his hand in the air. Kojima then left his boots in the ring and walked to the back, but not before turning around and thanking the fans for 30 years of support.

NJPW New Japan Road Tour Night Two- October 8th, 2022

Attendance: 2,000 at Namihaya Dome (Osaka, Japan)

Commentary Team: Shinpei Nogami & Milano Collection A.T.

-Sabre-gun's El Desperado, DOUKI, & Yoshinobu Kanemaru defeated young lions Ryohei Oiwa, Yuto Nakashima, & Kosei Fujita in a glorified squash match to kick things off. Despy finished off Oiwa with the Pinche Loco in just under eight minutes to secure the win for the Sabre-gun junior heavyweight army. (60/C)

-Bullet Club's Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo defeated Flying Tiger in a good match. This was another preview of the upcoming Super Junior Tag League, with these two former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship-winning teams putting on a surprisingly fast-paced affair for the Osaka crowd. In the end, Ishimori finished off Tiger Mask with the Bloody Cross in just under 14 minutes. (72/B-)

-CHAOS's Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano, & YOH defeated Great Bash & Yuji Nagata in a decent match. The NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions defeated the three New Japan dads in some solid non-title action. That's not to say that GBH & Nagata had some chances though, they certainly did. However, it wasn't enough to finish off CHAOS, as YOH made Tomoaki Honma tap to the Stargazer in just over 13 minutes. (65/C)

-Bryan Danielson and LIJ's Shingo Takagi & SANADA defeated FTR & Claudio CSRO in a good match. Danielson and CSRO beat the living hell out of each other here, a preview of their King of Pro Wrestling match for the NEVER Openweight Championship. However, neither man was involved in the finish. That came when (after 20 minutes of action) Shingo reversed a German suplex from Cash Wheeler into the Last of the Dragon! Shingo made the cover and got the win for his team. (82/B)

MAIN EVENT:

Sabre-gun (Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi) vs CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada & Hirooki Goto)

Sabre-gun's Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi defeated CHAOS's Kazuchika Okada & Hirooki Goto in a good match to close the show. Sabre and Okada tore into each other for nearly 20 minutes, with Taichi and Goto joining in on the fun for a bit. After nearly 20 minutes of action, Goto tried taking out Sabre with the GTR, but Sabre reversed it into a neckbreaker. Sabre then locked Goto in the Orienteering With Napalm Death for the submission win. Sabre once again made his intentions clear to take Okada's IWGP World Heavyweight Title after the match.

Attendance: 1,000 at KBS Hall (Kyoto, Japan)

Commentary Team: Shinpei Nogami & Milano Collection A.T.

-House of Torture's Yujiro Takahashi & Dick Togo defeated young lions Yuto Nakashima & Kosei Fujita in nothing more than a glorified squash match. Yujiro, who's challenging for the KOPW Trophy next week at King of Pro Wrestling, picked up the win in just under eight minutes after hitting Nakashima with the Tokyo Pimps. (48/D)

-Six or Nine defeated Flying Tiger in a decent match. This final preview of the Super Junior Tag League saw the most recent non-Bandido/Ryu Lee IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions defeat the most recent challengers for said IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles. After about 14 minutes, Master Wato finished off Tiger Mask with the RPP to pick up the win for Six or Nine. (68/C+)

-FTR & Claudio CSRO defeated Bryan Danielson & Los Ingobernables de Japon (Shingo Takagi & SANADA) in a good match. In a rematch of last night's semi-main event, FTR & CSRO got the win this time around. After about 16 minutes of back-and-forth action, CSRO took out Danielson with a spinning European uppercut, while FTR hit SANADA with the Big Rig to pick up the win. (82/B)

-United Empire's Will Ospreay & Jeff Cobb defeated Bullet Club's Jay White & Gedo in a good match. Ospreay needed a win over White to save his momentum going into King of Pro Wrestling and he got one tonight against Jay White & Gedo. The match came to an end after about 17 minutes when Ospreay caught Gedo and hit him with the StormBreaker. White thought about breaking up the cover, but Cobb scared him off and Ospreay got the three. (81/B)

Sabre-Gun (Zack Sabre Jr., Taichi, & El Desperado) vs CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, & YOH)

Sabre-gun's Zack Sabre Jr., Taichi, & El Desperado defeated CHAOS's Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, & YOH in a good match to close the show. Sabre got a good win to cap off his recent streak of momentum going into his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match at King of Pro Wrestling against Kazuchika Okada. That's not to say CHAOS didn't do much either, Okada nearly got the win over Sabre on a few occasions here, but he always slipped out of danger. In the end, Sabre finished off YOH with the Penalty Kick in just under 20 minutes to cap off the New Japan Road Tour.

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match:

Fk4yzlj.jpg VS kJaAuEV.jpg

Kazuchika Okada © vs Zack Sabre Jr.

Nearly four months after losing to him at Hyper Battle, Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Kazuchika Okada during the G1 Climax, a win that was seen at the time as a huge upset. Since then, Sabre has gone on to usurp Minoru Suzuki as the leader of Suzuki-gun (now named Sabre-gun) and now wants to cement his rise to the top by winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. However, he has to get through one of the most dominant wrestlers in NJPW history to do so, the 'Rainmaker' Kazuchika Okada!

Jay White took the IWGP United States Championship off of Will Ospreay at Destruction in Fukuoka last month. This marked the second time in a row that White defeated Ospreay in singles action, having defeated him during the G1 Climax in July. After winning the title, White made one final challenge, he wanted Ospreay's guaranteed IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestle Kingdom! Ospreay accepted the challenge and vowed to put White down once and for all at the Ryogoku Kokugikan!

This match came about when CSRO challenged Danielson to a championship match during the post-show press conference for Destruction in Nagoya. CSRO claimed that Danielson owed him a match for his services in a few tag team matches against LIJ and the 'American Dragon' was more than happy to oblige. Who will walk out of this dream match with the NEVER Openweight Championship?

Now they have to face Shingo & SANADA in standard tag team action, so who will walk out the Ryogoku Kokugikan with the gold?

NJPW King of Pro Wrestling- October 22nd, 2022

Attendance: 11,098 at Ryogoku Kokugikan (Tokyo, Japan)

Commentary Team: Shinpei Nogami & Milano Collection A.T.

rbCeCM0.jpg

Before the show started, we had a 10-bell salute in memory of longtime NJPW wrestler/backstage producer Junji Hirata, who tragically died on Wednesday at the age of 65. Hirata had a long and storied career, wrestling from 1984 until his retirement in 2018 (though he last wrestled in 2014) as the fierce Super Strong Machine. He won the IWGP Tag Team Championship on three different occasions and even inspired a few wrestlers in the WWF to take the gimmick (including Andre the Giant!). He is survived by his son, Strong Machine J, who currently wrestles for Dragon Gate.

We then cut to a video package hyping up our big matches tonight. With three big matches to close the show (Danielson/CSRO for the NEVER Openweight Title, Ospreay/White for the Tokyo Dome Championship Match Certificate, and the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match between Kazuchika Okada & Zack Sabre Jr.), we're in for an amazing night of wrestling here at the legendary Ryogoku Kokugikan! The commentary team then ran down the rest of the card and we went straight into our opening contest...

DEATH RIDERS vs Ryohei Oiwa, Kosei Fujita, & Yuto Nakashima

DEATH RIDERS had a bit of a setback last month at Destruction in Kobe when KUSHIDA failed to take the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship from Kazuchika Okada. Now they look to get off the schneid with a win over the young lions. KUSHIDA, Shota, & Fredericks completely dominated the young lions in this glorified squash match. The match came to an end after about eight minutes when KUSHIDA made Fujita tap out to the DEATH LOCK.

Sabre-gun (El Desperado, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, & DOUKI) vs CHAOS (YOH, Robbie Eagles, & Hirooki Goto)

These two stables have been trying to gain some momentum recently, so this six man tag team match will be big for whatever team wins it. This match was a decent match and the crowd was solidly behind CHAOS. Robbie Eagles and DOUKI started things off with a collar and elbow tie-up, in which Eagles hit DOUKI with a belly to belly suplex. Eagles then ran off the ropes and hit DOUKI with a running knee drop. Eagles picked up DOUKI and hit him with a powerslam before attempting a standing moonsault. That failed as DOUKI got his knees up at the last second. DOUKI threw Eagles into the corner and hit him with a knife edge chop. He quickly followed that up with an enzuigiri. DOUKI then tagged out to Yoshinobu Kanemaru, who hit Eagles with a spinning heel kick. Kanemaru then attempted a military press slam, but Eagles reversed it into a hurricanrana and tagged out to YOH. YOH ran off the ropes and hit Kanemaru with a running senton before hitting Kanemaru with a swinging neckbreaker. YOH picked up Kanemaru and hit him with a roundhouse kick, which sent Kanemaru stumbling to the corner. YOH then ran to the opposite corner and hit Kanemaru with a Yakuza kick! The match came to an end when YOH tagged out to Goto, who hit Kanemaru with a spinning sidewalk slam. Goto then tried the GTR, but Kanemaru wiggled out of it and shoved Goto into referee Marty Asami! Kanemaru then took a swig of his whiskey and spit it in Goto's face! Kanemaru then quickly tagged out to Despy, who hit Goto with the Pinche Loco! Despy made the cover and Asami counted the three.

WINNERS: Sabre-gun

Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, Hiromu Takahashi, & BUSHI) vs United Empire (Jeff Cobb, Great O-Khan, & Francesco Akira)

LIJ have been on a bit of a skid as of late, with Naito losing his NEVER Openweight Title match to Bryan Danielson at Destruction in Nagoya and then losing with Hiromu & BUSHI to Claudio CSRO, Bandido, & Ryu Lee at Destruction in Kobe. Can they snap that losing streak tonight against three of the top members of United Empire? This match was a great match and the crowd was solidly behind LIJ. Naito and Khan started things off with a bit of a staredown before Khan hit Naito with a big Mongolian chop. Khan then threw Naito off the ropes and hit him with a spinning heel kick before launching him across the ring with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Khan then tried hitting Naito with a lariat, but Naito ducked it and hit Khan with a discus lariat. Naito then threw Khan off the ropes and hit him with a high knee before tagging out to Hiromu. Hiromu ran off the ropes and sent Khan flying to the outside with a running missile dropkick. Hiromu then ran off the ropes and attempted a top rope plancha, but Khan rolled out of the way at the last second. Khan then threw Hiromu into the barricade before rolling back in the ring and tagging out to Francesco Akira. Akira went to the top rope and hit Hiromu with a diving crossbody to the outside! Akira then threw Hiromu back in the ring and hit Hiromu with a running moonsault. Akira then went to the top rope and attempted a diving double foot stomp, but Hiromu rolled out of the way and hit Akira with an enzuigiri. Hiromu then tagged out to BUSHI, who hit Akira with a running tilt-a-whirl headscissors. BUSHI then went to the top rope and attempted the MX, but Akira caught him and hit him with a belly to belly suplex. The match came to an end when Akira tagged out to Jeff Cobb, who hit BUSHI with a lariat. Cobb then threw BUSHI into the corner and hit him with a body splash. Cobb then picked up BUSHI and hit him with the Tour of the Islands! Cobb made the cover and got the three. After the match, Naito & Hiromu argued with each other, with Naito telling Hiromu that he's not "mature" enough to handle being a heavyweight.

Taichi © vs Yujiro Takahashi vs Aaron Henare vs Toru Yano

Taichi won the provisional KOPW Trophy at Destruction in Nagoya last month, defeating Shingo Takagi and Toru Yano in a "falls only count outside the ring" match. Now he defends the trophy against Yujiro Takahashi, Aaron Henare, and Yano in a "last laugh" match. The premise of the match is simple, whoever gets the last pinfall before a 15-minute timer expires is the winner! This match was a decent match and the crowd was solidly behind Yano. The three heels started things off by ganging up on Yano, kicking the living hell out of him before kicking him to the outside. Taichi then got the upper hand by hitting Yujiro and Henare with a double lariat. Taichi then threw Yujiro into the corner and hit him with a running high knee. He then quickly hit him with the Taichi-style Last Ride, made the cover, and got the three! Taichi couldn't rest on his laurels for long as Yano ran back in the ring and quickly rolled him up for the three! Henare then joined in on the fun, grabbing Yano by the throat and slamming him to the ground with a chokeslam! Henare then put his foot on Yano and got the three! Henare tried celebrating, but was quickly interrupted by Yujiro, who kicked him square below the belt and rolled him up for the three! What a wild opening five minutes of the match! Yujiro then quickly fled the ring, trying to avoid losing the fall. However, Taichi caught him and threw him headfirst into the turnbuckle. Taichi then threw him back in the ring, but before he could do anything, he was hit by a flying shoulder block from Yano. Yano picked up Taichi, poked him in the eye, and hit him with a German suplex. Yano then tried taking the turnbuckle pad off, but that was interrupted by Henare, who grabbed Yano and hit him with a powerslam. The match came to an end when Henare tried hitting Yano with the Streets of Rage, but Yujiro stopped it by hitting Henare with a high knee. With just a minute left on the clock, Yujiro tried taking out Henare with the Tokyo Pimps, but Henare wiggled out of it and hit Yujiro with the Streets of Rage! Henare made the cover and got the three with 30 seconds to spare. Suddenly, Taichi ran back in the ring and hit Henare with a spinning wheel kick. Taichi then picked up Henare and attempted the Taichi-style Last Ride, but Henare wiggled out of it. Taichi then ripped off his pants, threw them in Henare's face, and hit him with the Taichi-style Last Ride! However, as Taichi went for the cover, the bell rang! The 15-minute timer expired, giving Aaron Henare the win!

WINNER: Aaron Henare

Now they have to face Shingo & SANADA in standard tag team action, so who will walk out the Ryogoku Kokugikan with the gold? This match was a good match and the crowd was solidly behind LIJ. SANADA and Cash Wheeler started things off with a collar and elbow tie-up, in which SANADA sent Wheeler flying across the ring with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Wheeler tried to recover, but walked right into a spinning heel kick from SANADA. SANADA then threw Wheeler into the corner and hit him with an enzuigiri before quickly following that up with a standing double foot stomp. SANADA then attempted a dragon suplex, but Wheeler reversed it into a snap suplex. Wheeler then ran off the ropes and hit SANADA with a diving knee drop. Wheeler then hit SANADA with a dragon screw leg whip before tagging out to Dax Harwood. Wheeler & Harwood then hit SANADA with a nasty-looking powerbomb/diving clothesline combo. Harwood then whipped SANADA into the corner sternum-first and when he rebounded off of the turnbuckle, Harwood clipped his knee. Harwood then quickly tagged back out to Wheeler and the two men hit SANADA with a move they dubbed the Powerplex (Suplex/Diving Body Splash combo). Wheeler went to attempt a running powerslam, but SANADA wiggled out of it and hit Wheeler with a swinging neckbreaker! A hobbling SANADA eventually made the tag to Shingo, who blasted Wheeler with a lariat. A dazed Wheeler tagged back to Dax, who hit Shingo with a flying shoulder block. Dax threw Shingo off the ropes and hit him with a big back body drop before Cash ran into the ring and the two attempted the Big Rig. That failed though as SANADA had the wherewithal to jump in the ring and shove Cash out of the way, only resulting in Shingo taking a flapjack from Dax. The match came to an end when Dax tried hitting Shingo with the piledriver while SANADA and Cash brawled on the outside. That failed though, as Shingo reversed it into a kneeling back to belly piledriver! Shingo then picked up Dax and hit him with the Last of the Dragon! Shingo made the cover and got the three! We have new IWGP Tag Team Champions and their names are SANADA & Shingo Takagi!

CSRO claimed that Danielson owed him a match for his services in a few tag team matches against LIJ and the 'American Dragon' was more than happy to oblige. This match was an amazing match and the crowd was solidly behind Danielson. These two men started things off with a bit of a staredown before CSRO made the first move by hitting Danielson with a stiff European uppercut. That only seemed to enrage Danielson though, as he fired back with a stiff forearm smash. CSRO responded in-kind with a discus lariat. CSRO then threw Danielson off the ropes, ducked a lariat, jumped off the middle rope, and hit Danielson with a corkscrew European uppercut! CSRO then threw Danielson into the order and slapped him right across the chest! That could be heard all the way in row Z! CSRO then hit Danielson with a big back body drop before attempting a cradle facebuster, but Danielson reversed it into a tilt-a-whirl headscissors. Danielson then ran off the ropes and hit CSRO with a running single-leg high knee! Danielson made the cover, but CSRO kicked out at two. Danielson then picked up CSRO and hit him with a Regal-plex. Shades of a man who's played a major role in both of these men's careers! Danielson continued the William Regal tribute by locking CSRO in the Regal Stretch! That failed almost immediately though as CSRO wiggled out of it and hit Danielson with a release German suplex. CSRO then threw Danielson into the corner and attempted a running European uppercut, but Danielson rolled out of the way at the last second and hit CSRO with an enzuigiri. Danielson then went to the top rope and hit CSRO with a diving knee drop. CSRO then rolled out of the ring, so Danielson ran off the ropes and hit him with a suicide dive! Danielson then threw CSRO back in the ring and tried locking him in the LeBell Lock, but CSRO fought him off with some kicks and hit Danielson with a discus elbow smash! The match came to an end when CSRO threw Danielson off the ropes and attempted the Swiss Death, but Danielson dodged it and managed to lock CSRO in the LeBell Lock! CSRO reached valiantly for the ropes, leading to Danielson transitioning the hold into the Cattle Mutilation! CSRO eventually had no choice but to tap out, giving Danielson the win! The two men shook hands before Danielson celebrated his win with the Tokyo crowd.

WINNER: Bryan Danielson

After that match ended, we cut to a video hyping up our co-main event of the evening between Will Ospreay and Jay White for the Tokyo Dome Championship Certificate. The video showed how Jay White took the IWGP United States Championship off of Will Ospreay at Destruction in Fukuoka last month.

Tokyo Dome Championship Certificate Match:

Will Ospreay © vs Jay White w/Gedo

This match was a great match and the crowd was solidly behind Ospreay. Ospreay started things off hot, ducking a lariat from White, leaping off the middle rope, and hitting the Bullet Club leader with the OsCutter! Ospreay then quickly followed that up by hitting White with the Hidden Blade! Ospreay made the cover and would have gotten the three if it wasn't for Gedo putting White's foot on the bottom rope! An irate Ospreay decided to take measures into his own hands by running off the ropes and hitting Gedo with a corkscrew plancha! What a start to this match! Ospreay rolled back in the ring, but was quickly met by a leaping back elbow from White. White then threw Ospreay into the corner and hit him with a knife edge chop before quickly following things up with a butterfly suplex. White then attempted to hit Ospreay with the Blade Runner, but Ospreay reversed it into an overhead belly to belly suplex. White then rolled to the outside, so Ospreay decided to run off the ropes and attempt a suicide dive. That failed though as White caught Ospreay and hit him with an uranage on the outside! White then threw Ospreay into the barricade before he grabbed a few camera wires and started choking the United Empire leader with them! Eventually White let up after referee Marty Asami threatened to disqualify him and he sent Ospreay head-first into the turnbuckle post. White then threw Ospreay shoulder-first into ring barricade before hitting him with a shoulder breaker. White then threw Ospreay back in the ring and hit him with a snap suplex. White then threw Ospreay shoulder-first into the corner and hit him with a dropkick. White then attempted the Kiwi Crusher, but Ospreay reversed it into an enzuigiri. Ospreay then waited a few seconds for White to start to get up before hitting him with a 720 kick to the back of his head! Ospreay then went to the apron, jumped off the top rope, and hit White with a springboard forearm smash. The match came to an end when Ospreay tried hitting White with the StormBreaker, but his shoulder gave out! In shades of his Destruction in Fukuoka loss, White quickly pounced on Ospreay and hit him with the Blade Runner!!! White made the cover...

After that match ended, we cut to a hype video for our main event of the evening, the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match between Kazuchika Okada and Zack Sabre Jr. The video showed how Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Kazuchika Okada during the G1 Climax, a win that was seen at the time as a huge upset.

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match:

Fk4yzlj.jpg VS kJaAuEV.jpg

Kazuchika Okada © vs Zack Sabre Jr.

This match was a great match and the crowd was solidly behind Okada. Sabre started things off by slapping the taste out of Okada's mouth! He then quickly followed that up with a forearm smash, which sent Okada reeling into the corner. Sabre started choking Okada by putting his foot on Okada's throat before referee Red Shoes threatened to disqualify Sabre if he didn't stop. Sabre then started hitting Okada's left leg with a couple of calf kicks. Sabre then threw Okada off the ropes and hit him with a big back body drop. Sabre then tried locking in some sort of leg lock, but Okada kicked him away and hit him with a beautiful dropkick. Okada then threw Sabre into the corner and hit him with a running lariat. He then ran to the other side of the ring and hit Sabre with a running back elbow. Okada then picked up Sabre and attempted an air raid crash neckbreaker, but Sabre reversed it and locked in an armbar! Okada was able to eventually reach the ropes, but his right arm may be messed up, that's his Rainmaker arm! Realizing this, Sabre started stomping the living daylights out of Okada's right arm before going back to his left leg and hitting him with a dragon screw leg whip. Sabre picked up Okada and hit him with a northern lights suplex before running off the ropes to attempt a penalty kick. That failed though, as Okada rolled out of the way and hit Sabre with a beautiful-looking dropkick. Okada then threw Sabre off the ropes and hit him with a big boot. A stunned Sabre rolled to the apron, but he was quickly met with a springboard dropkick from Okada that sent Sabre crashing into the barricade! Okada then went to the top rope and hit Sabre with a diving crossbody to the outside! Okada rolled Sabre back in the ring and tried hitting him with the Rainmaker, but his injured arm gave out! Sabre quickly took advantage of this, hitting Okada with a jumping high knee. Sabre then threw Okada into the corner and hit him with a springboard enzuigiri. Okada fell to the mat, which allowed Sabre to run off the ropes and hit him right in the sternum with a penalty kick! The match came to an end when Sabre picked up Okada and hit him with the Zack Driver (Michinoku Driver)! Sabre made the cover...

Okada reached for the ropes like a mad man, but Sabre kept the hold locked in and even dragged him back to the center of the ring! Just when Okada looked like he was about to lose, he managed to dig deep inside himself and get one finger on the ropes! Red Shoes broke the hold, which made Sabre snap at him. Just as it looked like Sabre was about to get physical with Red Shoes, Okada spun him around and hit him with the RAINMAKER!!!! Kazuchika Okada has retained the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship! He may have torn some muscles in doing so, but he's walking out of Tokyo tonight as the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion! Fair play to Sabre though, he gave Okada his toughest fight as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and was definitely much improved from his Hyper Battle loss to Okada back in April. King of Pro Wrestling came to an end as Okada stood tall and confetti fell from the sky.

"Well now that Minoru Suzuki isn't here, someone's got to teach these young boys some respect! Anyway, those fools aside, I'm here in beautiful Tokyo, Japan to issue a challenge. CHAOS, Ishii, Yano, YOH, I'm coming for those NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships of yours boys! And you might be sitting there saying "hey, Tom Lawlor doesn't know anybody who can beat us" and that's where you're wrong bucco! Okada:

"Okay, first of all, what the hell are you doing interrupting the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion's time with the press? What makes you think you deserve my attention?"

Hiromu:

"Well, I did beat you in the G1 Climax, but more importantly, Naito thinks I'm not "mature" enough to be a full-fledged heavyweight, so I'm going to prove him wrong by winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship!"

Okada:

"Kid, you have a good head on your shoulders, leave now before I embarrass you in front of everyon-"

Suddenly, Hiromu slapped Okada across the face! Okada recoiled, but not before cracking a brief smile

NJPW Super Junior Tag League 2022 Preview:

P9Tu73c.jpg0xnQTnV.jpg

Bandido & Ryu Lee

The current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions weren't originally scheduled to participate in this year's Super Junior Tag League, but were forced to under threat of stripping them of their titles. Now they look to cement their status as the best junior heavyweight tag team in recent NJPW history!

rYZUX4Y.jpg

YFPG8B9.jpgUrYaTCQ.jpg

United Empire (Francesco Akira & 'Speedball' Mike Bailey)

Francesco Akira has had a good start to his NJPW career and now he's looking to continue it with a good performance in the Super Junior Tag League. The partner he chose to do it with is 'Speedball' Mike Bailey. Bailey has made a pretty good name for himself in Japan with his appearances for DDT and over in North America on the independent circuit. Can this new tag team take the division by storm and add another piece of gold to United Empire?

rYZUX4Y.jpg

gQlau5b.jpg2v8tyk3.jpg

Roppongi 4 Lyfe (Brogan & Bobby Flaco)

Rocky Romero's newest tag team is comprised of two self-professed "Roppongi Party Animals." Romero has said that these two are some of the hardest partiers in all of Tokyo and they're no slouches in the ring too, boasting a combination of high flying and technical abilities. They'll definitely be a team to watch in the tournament.

rYZUX4Y.jpg

xlWkxuE.jpgnvcqNNt.jpg

Bullet Club (El Phantasmo & Taiji Ishimori)

Bullet Club's "Cutest Tag Team" are no strangers to IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team gold. They've held the titles on three different occasions, cementing themselves as one of the top junior heavyweight tag teams in NJPW. They've recently had more success on their own, but they can still hold their own in the tag division.

rYZUX4Y.jpg

Ll6ODLl.jpgE6DdBBm.jpg

Six or Nine (Master Wato & Ryusuke Taguchi)

Once the 69th IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, Wato & Taguchi have been on a downward spiral since losing the titles to Bandido & Ryu Lee at the Best of Super Juniors Final in June. Now they're looking to get back on track with a potential win in the Super Junior Tag League!

rYZUX4Y.jpg

Sl9TLgv.jpgtQr3nr6.jpg

Flying Tiger (Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask IV)

These two were the most recent challengers to Bandido & Ryu Lee, coming up just short against them at Destruction in Fukuoka. Now Eagles and the legendary Tiger Mask are looking to get another shot at the champions by winning the Super Junior Tag League!

rYZUX4Y.jpg

b91WYVR.jpgIgEI7iF.jpg

Sabre-gun (DOUKI & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)

Sabre-gun's resident junior heavyweight tag team hasn't really done much this year. However, these two are notorious tricksters and will do everything they can to win, making them probably two of the more dangerous competitors in this year's tournament.

rYZUX4Y.jpg

d1sPxEJ.jpgbYxQcIL.jpg

Ryohei Oiwa & Kosei Fujita

These two young lions are probably the biggest underdogs to ever enter a NJPW tournament. However, they have shown great heart and tenacity in their one-year careers so far. Can they pull off the impossible and win the Super Junior Tag League?

The Super Junior Tag League starts tomorrow with Road to Power Struggle Night One! You don't want to miss it!

Who is brogan and. Bobby flaco?

So, Brogan is Brogan Finlay, the younger brother of David Finlay Jr. and the youngest son of Fit Finlay. Flaco is a Florida/Georgia independent wrestler. Both are really young and haven't had many years in the business so far, but they're surprisingly good for their age, very high-flying style for both.

-Sabre-gun's El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru defeated Bullet Club's SHO & Chase Owens in a decent match. After the match, Despy challenged SHO to an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship match at Power Struggle! SHO responded by hitting Despy with the title and accepting the challenge. (70/C+)

-Roppongi 4 Lyfe (Brogan & Bobby Flaco) defeated Flying Tiger in a first round match of the Super Junior Tag League. Brogan & Flaco made a pretty impressive debut here against the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, showing some impressive teamwork and high flying abilities. -Sabre-gun's Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi defeated Bryan Danielson & Yuji Nagata in a good match. After the match, Sabre challenged Danielson to a NEVER Openweight Title match at Power Struggle! (80/B)

NJPW Road To Power Struggle Night Two- November 1st, 2022

Attendance: 2,000 at Korakuen Hall (Tokyo, Japan)

Commentary Team: Shinpei Nogami & Milano Collection A.T.

-DEATH RIDERS defeated GBH & Yuto Nakashima in a dull match. KUSHIDA, Shota Umino, & Karl Fredericks continued their quest to get back on track here, easily defeating two veterans in Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma and a promising young lion in Yuto Nakashima. KUSHIDA was able to make Nakashima tap to the DEATH LOCK in just over 10 minutes for the win. (58/C)

-Bandido & Ryu Lee defeated Ryohei Oiwa & Kosei Fujita in a first round contest in the 2022 Super Junior Tag League. Bandido & Lee overlooked these two young lions, but Oiwa & Fujita put in a surprisingly tough fight against the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. However, Bandido & Lee's experience was too much and Bandido finished off Oiwa with the 21 Plex in just under 11 minutes. (77/B)

-United Empire's Francesco Akira & Mike Bailey defeated Sabre-gun's DOUKI & Yoshinobu Kanemaru in a first round contest in the 2022 Super Junior Tag League. They'll now face Roppongi 4 Lyfe in the semifinals. (71/C+)

-Sabre-gun's Zack Sabre Jr., Taichi, & El Desperado defeated Bryan Danielson & FinJuice in a good match. Sabre continued his hot streak over Danielson here, teaming up with two of the bigger members of Sabre-gun to defeat Danielson & FinJuice. In the end, after nearly 20 minutes of action, Sabre hit Finlay with the Penalty Kick and locked him in the Orienteering with Napalm Death to get the submission win. After the match, Danielson accepted Sabre's challenge for Power Struggle! (77/B)

Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito) vs CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada & Tomohiro Ishii)

Los Ingobernables de Japon's Hiromu Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito defeated CHAOS's Kazuchika Okada & Tomohiro Ishii in a good match to close the show. Hiromu and Okada clashed on numerous occasions here, but in the end, it was Ishii who almost put the 'Time Bomb' away. After nearly 20 minutes of action, Ishii caught Hiromu with the Brainbuster after Hiromu slipped on the ropes. As Ishii went to hit the move, Naito jumped from off the top rope and hit Ishii with a missile dropkick! Hiromu then scooped up Ishii and hit him with the Time Bomb for the win.

NJPW Road To Power Struggle Night Three- November 5th, 2022

Attendance: 1,500 at White Ring (Nagano, Japan)

Commentary Team: Shinpei Nogami & Milano Collection A.T.

-Bullet Club's SHO, Taiji Ishimori, & El Phantasmo defeated young lions Ryohei Oiwa, Yuto Nakashima, & Kosei Fujita in a glorified squash match. The Bullet Club junior heavyweights completely dominated the young lions, with SHO finishing off Fujita with the Shock Arrow in just over nine minutes. (63/C)

-United Empire's Aaron Henare defeated CHAOS's Toru Yano in a dog cage match to retain the Provisional KOPW Trophy in a decent match. Yano did everything to get the Provisional KOPW Trophy back, using a bevy of underhanded tactics to defeat the 'Ultimate Weapon.' However, Yano's best wasn't enough to defeat Henare, who finished off Yano in just under 15 minutes after hitting him with the Streets of Rage and shoving him in the dog cage to get the win. (62/C)

-United Empire's Francesco Akira & Mike Bailey defeated Roppongi 4 Lyfe in a semifinals match in the 2022 Super Junior Tag League. Brogan & Bobby Flaco put up a good fight against the more experienced United Empire, but it was said experience that ultimately pushed Akira & Bailey over the finish line here. Bailey finished off Flaco in just under 15 minutes after hitting him with the Ultima Weapon to advance to the Super Junior Tag League Final. (70/C+)

-Sabre-gun's Zack Sabre Jr., Taichi, & El Desperado defeated Claudio CSRO & FTR in a good match. FTR looked to get back on track after losing the IWGP Tag Team Titles to Shingo Takagi & SANADA, but they were stopped in their tracks by Sabre-gun. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito) vs Bullet Club (Jay White & EVIL)

Los Ingobernables de Japon's Hiromu Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito defeated Bullet Club's Jay White and the returning EVIL to close the show. Hiromu once again looked like a man possessed tonight, looking like he was ready to take the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship from Kazuchika Okada. However, he slipped once again, damn near falling victim to an EVIL from EVIL. However, Naito once again saved him, hitting EVIL with a diving crossbody and allowing Hiromu to hit him with the Time Bomb for the win.

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match:

Fk4yzlj.jpg VS WeCdbaC.jpg

Kazuchika Okada © vs Hiromu Takahashi

Hiromu Takahashi defeated Kazuchika Okada during the G1 Climax back in August, a huge win for the recently-graduated junior heavyweight. Since then, Hiromu went on to nearly win the G1 Climax, ultimately losing in the final to Will Ospreay. Now he's challenged Okada to a title match here in Osaka and sent the champ a message by slapping him across the face! Okada has promised to put some respect into him, but with Hiromu already holding a win over him, this might be the 'Rainmaker's' toughest fight yet. Who will walk out of Osaka and enter the Tokyo Dome in January with the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship?

Bryan Danielson © vs Zack Sabre Jr.

These two technical-wrestling masters have never faced off before and a match between them has long been seen as a dream match. Now with Danielson as NEVER Openweight Champion and Sabre looking to get some momentum back following a disappointing loss to Kazuchika Okada at King of Pro-Wrestling, these two are finally set to square off in Osaka!

SHO © vs El Desperado

SHO won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship from Despy back at Dominion in June. Since then, he's gone on a torrid winning streak, beating everyone that's stood in his way. Now Despy is looking to get back his title that he lost five months ago, but can he stop the 'Murder Machine?'

Bandido & Ryu Lee vs United Empire (Francesco Akira & Mike Bailey)

Lee & Bandido, the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, weren't even supposed to be in the Super Junior Tag League this year, but were forced in under the threat of stripping them of their titles. They got here by defeating Ryohei Oiwa & Kosei Fujita and Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo. Meanwhile, Bailey & Akira may be the division's newest tag team, but they've been dominant in this tournament so far, defeating DOUKI & Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Roppongi 4 Lyfe. Who will walk out of Osaka as the best junior heavyweight tag team in NJPW?
