Your Announce Team: Jackie Goldstein & Melanie Florence

Jackie Goldstein: “Hello and welcome back to National Wrestling! My name is Jackie Goldstein and joining me at ringside is Melanie Florence.”

Melanie Florence: “Thanks Jackie! We have a huge night of wrestling ahead of us, with a blockbuster tag team Main Event featuring all four Cruiserweight World Cup semi finalists!”

Jackie Goldstein: “Chuck Frisby is back with the second iteration of the Frisby’s Foundation for Fitness physical challenge! He scammed half of the fan base at ‘For Queen & Country’, but what does the personal trainer have in store for our fans tonight?”

Melanie Florence: “But before all of that, Leighton Buzzard has an opportunity to earn a Cruiserweight title shot as he faces Padraig O’Hearne…”

LeightonBuzzard.jpg.065b094e24d1b87cb430ff701b6fc0a4.jpgvs.jpg.4837f5ac9021f6c199cf1e5af88f3fac.jpgPadraigOHearne.jpg.7110e6e9f9895100373fd4c044afadb6.jpg

Leighton Buzzard VS Padraig O’Hearne

The crowd were firmly on the side of Leighton Buzzard tonight. The fanbase has warmed to Buzzard in recent months, following the formation of The British Bangers and then having his spot in the Cruiserweight World Cup stolen away from him by Edison Silva & Mo Adebola.

Padraig O’Hearne seemed incredibly focused in this match, perhaps wanting to impress tag team partner JK Lee after their recent wobble, and the Irishman made the most of his size advantage to take control. It was a classic little vs large match up, with Leighton Buzzard having flurries of offence before continually being shut down by his larger opponent.

O’Hearne looked to have the match in hand as he went for his Crowning Glory (a Swinging Fishermans Neckbreaker), but Buzzard was able to swing through with the momentum and surprise the Irishman with a flash rollup. Caught off guard, O’Hearne was only able to get his shoulder up just after referee Roy Worrall counted the three – handing Leighton Buzzard the win out of nowhere, securing a Cruiserweight Title Shot at the ‘Cruiserweight World Cup’ PLE.

Next up, Stuart Wilson was out for the next stage of his ‘specific training block’ ahead of challenging Landon Mallory for the British Heavyweight Championship.

StuartWilson.jpg.d7650845ce02e696f54b6126d54e1498.jpg

Stuart Wilson: “Last week’s sparring partner was aboot physical characteristics, but this week ah want to get into Landon Mallory’s head… and what better way to do that than face a man who shared a similar upbringing? A man who was also born in a South African township, and also abandoned his homeland for bigger opportunities in Europe in his early twenties. Ah want to get a sense of that famous South African spirit… so let me introduce yah to mah sparring partner for the evening – Rohan Kirchner.”

Rohan Kirchner VS ‘The Celtic Hammer’ Stuart Wilson

This proved to be a real squash match, as Stuart Wilson dominated from start to finish – hitting his Bronze Bomber (Running Powerslam) around the six-minute mark for the victory. The Olympic Bronze medalist looked down at his beaten opponent, clearly unimpressed with the so-called ‘South African spirit’.

Winner: Stuart Wilson

The Force were out next, and repeated their challenge from last weeks show. The lights dropped for a moment, and when they came back up the mysterious figure was stood alone in the middle of the ring.

LoneWolf.jpg.4bb607b6e909bf4c3aa9fbdf94fdc27c.jpg

Jase Cole asked the mysterious figure where his partner was, and the man simply replied that he was a ‘Lone Wolf’ and worked alone. The Force began to discuss which of them would face the ‘Lone Wolf’, when Bret Heartbreak’s music played over the speakers.

BretHeartbreak.jpg.11c9ffa0fc2c85c81676b5017b4794fe.jpg

Bret Heartbreak ran down and announced that he wouldn’t allow this to be a handicap match, and that he would even the odds. Lone Wolf did not look happy to see Bret, but referee Roy Worrall seemed satisfied and called for the bell.

The Force (Jase Cole & Christopher Lister) VS Lone Wolf & Bret Heartbreak

Unfortunately for Bret Heartbreak, Lone Wolf lived up to his name and the moment the bell rang the lights cut out – and when they came back up, Bret found himself all alone in the ring. Unfortunately for Bret, this left him two-on-one against The Force and Jase Cole was able to put the youngster away with a Sky High (Springboard Cross Body).

Despite picking up the victory, both members of The Force looked trouble after the match.

The camera cut to the offices of Moore’s Sports Agency, where Mark Moore and Darin Flynn were deep in conversation with Akihiro Hisato – who had represented Japan at the Cruiserweight World Cup.

Darin Flynn talked about his love of the Japanese style, and how he had watched all of the tapes of Akihiro Hisato’s father – The Great Hisato’s run as BHOTWG Junior Heavyweight Champion back in the 90’s. Akihiro Hisato nodded along politely, but given his lack of English it was anyone’s guess how much he had understood. Flynn finished by asking Akihiro for a match next week on National Wrestling, which the Japanese wrestler agreed to.

FrisbysFitnessPNG.png.acf3cc62926b712421027b2e044bd71c.png

We cut back to the ring to find Chuck Frisby & Dwayne Dark standing by for this weeks’ Frisby Foundation for Fitness physical challenge! Chuck Frisby was stood next to what looked like a regular Tricep Dip bar with a microphone in hand.

ChuckFrisby.jpg.d5d0d7c6a7284c3bf840f3b4d73318cf.jpg DwayneDark.jpeg.314a28d51eb03a8304cbb5bedc4959b7.jpeg

Chuck Frisby: “Roll up, roll up for the latest Frisby’s Foundation for Fitness physical challenge! Now I know a few of you were unhappy at having to use a different bar to Dwayne in the last challenge – so this time we are keep things simple! One dip bar – a £10 buy in and if anyone can complete more reps than Dwayne they will win our grand price of £1000!”

A few takers began to get into the ring – less than for the Pull Up challenge at ‘For Queen & Country, but it was a smaller crowd. Once Chuck had safely pocketed all of the entry fees he explained that Dwayne would be completing his set last, and the punters would have to set him a score to beat.

The first punter stepped forward, but his hands immediately slipped off the bars. He tried again, but could only complete one rep before his hands once again slipped off. Looking disgruntled, he walked away before the second punter stepped up and assessed the dip bars. He yelled out that the bars had been greased, and a discontented murmur made its way down the line.

Chuck Frisby: “Let me remind you that EVERYONE will be using the same bar, so conditions are equal for all competitors…”

The crowd still didn’t look happy, but slowly the punters stepped up and took their turn. Because of the greasy bar, the highest score from any of the punters was only three reps.

Then it was time for Dwayne Dark to step up, and the National School of Wrestling graduate caused outrage amongst the crowd as he pulled out a pair of a pair of weightlifting straps and wrapped them around the greasy bar. With the extra grip from the straps, Dark was able to breeze past the three rep target and stop any of the angry punters from taking home the prize.

Chuck Frisby: “Thank you everybody for taking part, but unfortunately nobody goes home with the money today. Be sure to join us again for the next Frisby’s Foundation for Fitness physical challenge! Because my name is Chuck Frisby, and I’m here to tackle England’s obesity crisis – one physical challenge at a time!”

Boos rained down on the personal trainer as he hurried to the back, cowering behind Dwayne Dark for protection from the angry crowd.

Future X (Petey Barnes & Eric Future) VS XS & Aurelian Bradley

This match served as an opportunity for Future X to sharpen up ahead of their British Tag Team title match at the Cruiserweight World Cup PLE, and another opportunity for XS & Aurelian Bradley to get some more experience as a team. The young duo once again showed a natural chemistry in the ring, and they put in a competitive performance against the former British Tag Team champions. However the experience of Future X eventually showed through, as the number one contenders hit their Future Shock DDT (Aided Double Arm DDT) to pick up a momentum boosting win heading into their rematch with The Northern Lights.

Winners: Future X (Petey Barnes & Eric Future)

Nate Manchester: “I canny leave it man. I’ve beaten him before, I’ll do it again.”

Leo Price: “Don’t be reckless Nate, we need you around here!”

Nate Manchester: “I can beat him Leo! And if his lackeys show up, I’ll deal with them too!”

Leo Price: “I’ve known you long enough to know when you’re minds made up… but if I can’t talk you out of it, at least let me help you…”

At this point, the pair seemed to notice the camera and moved their chat to somewhere more private.

Astro VS Brilliant White

This was a big opportunity for Astro to make his mark in the NWF, having come up short in his Cruiserweight World Cup Quarter Final against Damian Dastardly. Brilliant White made his usual spectacular entrance – appearing in a flash of (brilliant) white light. Brilliant White’s showmanship continued throughout this highflying contest, with the daredevil throwing himself off all corners of the ring before hitting his White Out (Swanton Bomb) to secure the win.

Winner: Brilliant White

We cut to a pre-recorded video filmed in a tailors shop on Saville Row. The tailor was taking Joey Beauchamp’s measurements, while Byron and Dylan Drama sipped on champagne in the waiting area.

Byron: “Boys, we all know that this Sunday is the biggest event of the social season! We’ve been working for months to break into the elite circles, and thanks to Dylan’s father securing us an invite we finally have our chance. Joey - this may be our only shot at this, so everything has to go perfect… can I count on you?”

The tailor finished taking his measurements, and Joey Beauchamp admired himself in the mirror.

Joey Beauchamp: “I am cool, I am the breeze.”

Grace Of Fire (Welsh Dragon & Bali Daljit) VS Damian Dastardly & Edison Silva w/ Mo Adebola

Our Main Event for the evening saw the four Cruiserweight World Cup Semi Finalists taking part in tag team action. Welsh Dragon & Bali Daljit showed great chemistry as a team, and they needed to in order to combat the constant underhand tactics on show from both Damian Dastardly in the ring and Mo Adebola at ringside.

The chemistry between Welsh Dragon and Bali Daljit saw the pair utilise frequent tags to keep their opponents off balance, which gave the babyfaces good success early in the contest. However this came to a stop as Edison Silva was able to halt Bali Daljit’s momentum with a hard Elbow to the temple. Silva and Dastardly were able to isolate Daljit in their corner for nearly five minutes, until Daljit was able to reverse a Silva Suplex attempt to turn the momentum.

Daljit slowly began crawling to his corner, where a fired up Welsh Dragon was waiting for the hot tag. Daljit was within touching distance when he dived for his partner… only for Welsh Dragon to disappear from the apron! The camera cut to a new angle, to show Damian Dastardly (the non-legal man) had pulled Welsh Dragon clean from the Apron down to the floor below. Bali Daljit looked distraught as he realised what had happened, with Damian Dastardly tapping his temple to show that he had outsmarted the babyfaces. With Welsh Dragon out of action on the floor, Bali turned back to the ring… right into a Knee Strike KO from Edison Silva. The former British Heavyweight Champion made the cover, and there was no kicking out from that!

Winners: Edison Silva & Damian Dastardly

Rating: 59

Jackie Goldstein: “You need eyes in the back of your head against these two, if it’s not Mo Adebola screwing you out of the match it’s Damian Dastardly!”

Melanie Florence: “Whether you like it or not Jackie, that is a huge momentum boost ahead of next weeks Semi Finals! Welsh Dragon and Bali Daljit are going to have to smarten up if they want to get past this pair…”

You called it @KyTeran! I'm glad everyone has got behind Leighton Buzzard, I've enjoyed how he's grown throughout the diary and I'm glad that seems to have come across!

I'd say Edison Silva & Damian Dastardly regardless of the opponents, there aren't two babyfaces in NWF that can defeat this duo IMO.

While I like Grace of Fire the other team has the antics of Mo and Damian plus Edison's higher standing being a major factor to help the heels get the W here.

Dastardly has shown he has a number of tricks up his sleeve! Can the babyfaces can bounce back in their Semi Final matches next show?

Thank you to everybody who predicted and reacted to the latest show, it really is appreciated! I hope everybody enjoyed the show.

Cruiserweight World Cup Semi Final: Welsh Dragon vs Damian Dastardly

Assuming Edison Silva will crush Bali Daljit, a babyface win makes sense. I hope this won't be Damian's last match in NWF, he's earned a spot in this World Cup IMO.

??? vs Stuart Wilson

Wilson is Landon Mallory's next challenger, he's winning this match.

Darin Flynn vs Akihiro Hisato

Interesting match, I loved that segment where Hisato didn't understand but was a stereotypical polite Japanese saying yes to everything LOL

The Youth Bandits (Ian Vincible & Cannonball Logan) vs Lee & O'Hearne

I'm buying @KyTeran's theory, maybe this match finally divides Lee & O'Hearne.

Cruiserweight World Cup Semi Final: Bali Daljit vs Edison Silva w/ Mo Adebola

Yes.

Cruiserweight World Cup Semi Final: Welsh Dragon vs Damian Dastardly

Dastardly is going to cheat, but I don't see the finals being a heel vs heel match so I believe that Welsh Dragon gets the win.

??? vs Stuart Wilson

It's time for another Stuart Squash.

Darin Flynn vs Akihiro Hisato

Akihiro has the legacy, but Darin is a Prodigy.

The Youth Bandits (Ian Vincible & Cannonball Logan) vs Lee & O'Hearne

Normally I would say that Lee and O'Hearne would win, but with the way the storyline is going I believe that Padraig is going to disappoint JK Lee again.

Cruiserweight World Cup Semi Final: Bali Daljit vs Edison Silva w/ Mo Adebola

Congrats on making the semifinals Bali, but this is as far as you'll go.

Welsh Dragon VS ‘The Diabolical’ Damian Dastardly

Cruiserweight World Cup Semi Final

This was a fantastic opening contest for the evening, drawing the crowd in with its electric pace. Welsh Dragon came out of the gates hot with his lucha inspired moveset, taking control with Arm Drags, Drop Toe Holds, Hurricanranas, and even more Arm Drags! ‘The Diabolical’ one had to go deep into his box of dastardly tricks to turn the tide, a poke to the eye slowed Welsh Dragon down – before Dastardly grabbed the Welshman’s tights and sent his opponent crashing into referee Roy Worrall.

With the referee down, Dastardly looked to take full advantage – grabbing a chair from ringside. The New Zealander positioned himself behind Welsh Dragon, who was trying to pull himself back to his feet using the ropes for support. Once Welsh Dragon was back to his feet, Dastardly swung the chair hard at the Welshman’s head… but the former Cruiserweight champion showed his incredible agility by ducking under the shot – causing the chair to rebound off the top rope and strike Dastardly in the head!

With his opponent dazed, Welsh Dragon headed to the top rope and hit his Dragon Kick (Spinning Thrust Kick from the top rope) and fell into the cover. Roy Worrall came around just at the right time to make the count, and send Welsh Dragon into the final!

Following the opening contest, the number one contender for the British Heavyweight Championship was out with a microphone in hand to enlighten the crowd on the next phase of his ‘specific training block’.

StuartWilson.jpg.006e6d4c269b4ee57f4d71b6273bbf10.jpg

Stuart Wilson: “Last week I wanted to get a feel for the ‘South African spirit’ and try and really get into the mind of my opponent this Sunday… and I have to say, I wasn’t impressed! If Landon Mallory’s spirit is anything like his compatriots, then that British Heavyweight Championship is as good as mine.”

The crowd booed the former Olympian, causing him to pause for a moment until they died down.

Stuart Wilson: “But I don’t want to leave anything to chance, so I’m going to have one more go at getting inside the mind of Landon Mallory… because my opponent this week has spent the last three years trading the VWA European title back and forth with him. There isn’t a wrestler alive who knows Landon Mallory better than Walker van Cleer!”

Walker van Cleer VS ‘The Celtic Hammer’ Stuart Wilson

Walker van Cleer may be a new name to British wrestling fans, but the Dutchman can definitely lay claim to being Landon Mallory’s biggest rival in Europe. Given how even their rivalry in Europe has been over the past three years, Mallory may be concerned by how easily Stuart Wilson dispatched of the Dutchman here. The size and power of the former Olympian proved too much for van Cleer to deal with, and Wilson was able to hit his Bronze Bomber (Running Powerslam) to secure an impressive victory.

On commentary, Melanie Florence noted that whatever Jackie Goldstein may think of Wilson’s training methods – there was no denying that ‘The Celtic Hammer’ looked ready for Sunday!

Winner: Stuart Wilson

We cut to the office of network executive Frank Finkleton, who was in the middle of an argument with personal trainer Chuck Frisby.

Frank Finkleton: “Chuck, I’ve had complaints from the board. You can’t be swindling paying customers on a network TV show. It’s not a good look…”

Chuck Frisby: “Come on Frank, these people are so stupid that if I wasn’t the one taking their money somebody else would just do it!”

Frank Finkleton: “While that might be the case… no more rigged games inside the ring. Anything you want to run going forwards has to be pre-approved by the network.”

Chuck Frisby: “But Frank, there’s so much money to be made, and you could take some of that too! You’ve just got to let me… help you… help me get this stuff past the board!”

Chuck beamed at Frank Finkleton for a moment, before the network executive told him to get the hell out of his office!

‘The Prodigy’ Darin Flynn w/ Mark Moore VS Akihro Hisato

There was a show of respect between the two competitors, as Flynn and Hisato bowed to each other before the match kicked off. Hisato once again showed that he had inherited his fathers graceful attack style, making the Japanese Cruiserweight great to watch when in full flow. This was a surprisingly even contest, given Darin Flynn’s position in the company – but around the ten minute mark ‘The Prodigy’ was able to lock in his Prodigal Pressure to pick up a hard fought victory.

Winner: Darin Flynn

Holly Leves: “What were you thinking? You’ve never even met the man and you run out to help him? He has blood on his face Bret… blood! He could be a psychopath for all you know!”

Bret Heartbreak: “I mean I have been looking for a partner to go after the belts with, and it seemed like a good opportunity…”

Holly Leves: “You cannot be serious…”

However before Bret Heartbreak can respond, The Force enter shot – having overheard Bret and Holly’s conversation.

Jase Cole: “Admirable it was, to try and help. But closed his heart, the Lone Wolf has…”

Holly Leves: “Why does he talk like that?”

Christopher Lister (Ignoring Holly): “When the Lone Wolf embraced the dark side, he cut himself off from all outside connection. Isolated himself in the darkness, and now he threatens to disturb the balance of the force.”

Jase Cole: “At the Cruiserweight World Cup, stop him we must…”

The Youth Bandits (Ian Vincible & Cannonball Logan) VS Lee & O’Hearne

This was the first time we had seen The Youth Bandits in the NWF since December, and they were hoping to capatalise on the recent dysfunction between JK Lee and Padraig O’Hearne. In the early stages it looked like The Youth Bandits may get their wish as they were able to use their experience to isolate Padraig O’Hearne in their corner. However once O’Hearne was able to make the tag, The Youth Bandits had no answer for the tenacity and intensity of JK Lee. The Cruiserweight champion was able to lock in his Crossface submission on Cannonball Logan to get the win for his team.

After the bell, an irate JK Lee yelled at his partner “That’s how it’s done!” – before storming to the back.

Winners: Lee & O’Hearne

Dangermouth.jpg.03d6ee4f973ff99e8261cf7fff7c1345.jpg

We cut backstage to the interview zone, where Dangermouth was stood by with Rachel Dearheart. The grime artist told Rachel that despite his team picking up the win over High Society at ‘For Queen & Country’, High Society still seemed to have no respect for Generation Z…. so Dangermouth told Rached that he wanted Byron 1-on-1 this Sunday!

HighSociety.jpg.31b45f8870476a3534a7b12f9bdb4fe3.jpgByron.jpg.8a40f7f330eac03ac23e6ecd0c2f25f1.jpgJoeyBeauchamp.jpg.a39464d3c0b5ec390e317081d142cb60.jpgDylanDrama.jpg.9ac10c4727ef951598ac58ea8ae981cc.jpg

This drew out High Society, as Byron arrogantly told Dangermouth that he was far too busy to attend the PLE on Sunday. Didn’t Dangermouth know that the most prestigious event of the social season was being held this Sunday – AND that High Society had secured themselves an invite? Byron told Dangermouth that he was no longer in their league, before walking out of shot – leaving Dangermouth looking frustrated and deep in thought.

Boos filled the building as the music of The Network blared over the speakers. ‘Big Mac’ Nathan McKenzie led The Northern Lights down to the ring – a smug look plastered over his face.

Nathan McKenzie: “The time has come to make a decision Nate. Do you want to get your hands on the man who put you on the shelf, or are you going to put your tail between your legs and fall in line like a good little boy?”

The Northern Lights chuckled behind Big Mac, as Nat Manchester’s music hit. ‘The Real Angel Of The North’ got a good reaction from the crowd, and showed no fear as he stepped into the ring with The Network.

Nate Manchester: “You alreet boys? I’d have thought you’d have wanted to do this man to man, big man?”

Big Mac just grinned, as The Northern Lights moved to create a circle around Nate Manchester – and cut off his routes of escape.

Nate Manchester: “Well since your pals aren’t goin’ anywhere, I guess I’ll just come out and say that I accept your terms! You and me this Sunday, if I lose I leave the NWF!”

There was a muted cheer, with the crowd seemingly torn by Nate’s announcement.

Nate Manchester: “But just so you know big man, I won’t be alone on Sunday…”

The music of Leo Price blared over the speakers, and the former four time 21CW Tag Team champion got a good reception from the crowd as he appeared from the back alongside his protégé Dangermouth.

The pair hit the ring, ducked under the attempted Clotheslines from The Northern Lights – before dumping the British Tag Team champions over the top rope. This left Big Mac alone in the ring with the three babyfaces. Manchester motioned for the Australian to bring it, but Big Mac seemed to decide that with the odds now against him he would head for the safety of the back.

Bali Daljit VS Edison Silva w/ Mo Adebola

The Main Event for the evening saw India face England in the second Cruiserweight World Cup Semi Final. Despite Edison Silva being the English representative in the World Cup, the former British Heavyweight Champion was booed throughout by the NWF crowd. This seemed to get in the head of Silva - as after dominating the early portion of the contest, he became distracted by the boos and began mouthing off to the crowd. This proved just enough of a distraction to allow Bali Daljit to recover and catch Silva off guard with a Running Bulldog! Not wasting a moment, the Indian representative scrambled to the top rope and leapt off for his Shooting Star Press – a move he executes with rare grace. Unfortunately for Daljit he connected with nothing but canvas on this occasion, as Silva rolled out of the way at the last moment. A fired up Silva was quickly back to his feet, and delivered a brutal looking Knee Strike KO to a dazed Daljit to secure his place in the final.

Winner: Edison Silva

A furious Edison Silva continued the beatdown on Bali Daljit after the bell, drawing out Welsh Dragon to make the save. Silva bailed as the Welshman hit the ring – leading to a staredown between the two men as Silva backpedaled up the ramp and Welsh Dragon stood over his fallen tag team partner.

Great show! Chuck Frisby is back to his prime. He tried to bribe Finkleton LOL.

Welsh Dragon vs Damian Dastardly was very good. Walker Van Cleer was a great surprise but Wilson is one of the final bosses.

The Force, well... I'm still waiting for someone to put them in their place.

Thanks @newbiezness! Chuck has been grifting away since day one of this diary, so it's very in character for him! After a quiet few months, Chuck and the Frisby Foundation for Fitness will be taking a much more central role from next month - so fans of his should hopefully enjoy!

I'm glad you enjoyed Welsh Dragon/Damian Dastardly - I'm really enjoying Dastardly as an over the top 'cheat for cheatings sake' Heel so far. Van Cleer was only a one off appearance (for now) to really show how seriously Wilson has been training for his title shot. Although with Landon Mallory as one of my top guys, don't fully rule out a return from his main European rival down the line.

I'm still hopeful I can turn you around on The Force! Although I may be fighting a losing battle 😅

Nice show! I always liked the chairshot ropes rebound spot, the finalists of the World Cup had to be Dragon and Silva. It'll be funny!

I'm with newb on The Force lol you can imagine where I'd shove those lightsabers at them.

Also, High Society and Frisby's angles are always entertaining. You're doing a great job with them.

Thanks @Wrestling Machine! Yeah it's always a fun spot - I've tried to keep weapon usage to a minimum in the diary so far, with only the main Heels stooping down to using them. I feel like it then has more impact when a chair/ladder/table is pulled out.

I see The Force as a silly midcard team who add a bit of light hearted fun to the show, but clearly I'm in the minority here! I'm still hopeful I can turn it around, but I might have to admit defeat and cut it earlier than originally planned...

Thanks! Frisby is my favourite character in the diary, and it's always easy to hate a snobby elitist group like High Society.

Thank you to everybody who commented, predicted and reacted to the latest episode! Jase Cole w/ Christopher Lister vs Lone Wolf
Wolf's got a lot of potential. But he's young, and a loss won't hurt him.

If Nate Manchester loses he leaves NWF: Nate Manchester w/ Leo Price vs 'Big Mac' Nathan McKenzie

NWF British Heavyweight Championship: (C) 'The Springbok' Landon Mallory vs 'The Celtic Hammer' Stuart Wilson

Bonus 1: How many titles will change hands at the event? (maximum of 3)  I'll say zero based on my predictions!

Bonus 2: What will the overall rating of the show be? (two points for spot on, 1 point for 2 either side) 66

Any other comments/questions on the diary: Great to see you still putting out great content mate. I'm not very active on the boards lately, but I've got a week off work this week, and have read the last few shows. Love the talent you've picked up from Australia and Europe - absolute gold mines if you can tap them! ;)

Cruiserweight World Cup Final: Welsh Dragon vs Edison Silva w/ Mo Adebola

I like Welsh Dragon a lot but Edison Silva is on a whole different level and the only way this result could be different would be an interference from Leighton Buzzard. I don't think that a face will do it in NWF, although Leighton is one of the very few who could do it without turning heel IMO. That won't be the case though. I'm curious about the reaction that Edison Silva's win will get from the British fans and if he will show a Brazilian flag or something similar.

NWF British Tag Team Titles: Future X vs The Northern Lights (C) w/ Frank Finkleton

Too early for The Northern Lights to drop the belts.

NWF Cruiserweight Championship: Leighton Buzzard vs JK Lee (C)

Bang! Bang! Bang! This is the right moment.

Jase Cole w/ Christopher Lister vs Lone Wolf

I've already said enough about this, let's see where this is going.

If Nate Manchester loses he leaves NWF: Nate Manchester w/ Leo Price vs 'Big Mac' Nathan McKenzie

Good bye Nate, this will be a great achievement for Big Mac, who has the NWF British Heavyweight title in his future.

NWF British Heavyweight Championship: (C) 'The Springbok' Landon Mallory vs 'The Celtic Hammer' Stuart Wilson

Wilson could perfectly dethrone Landon. He's been built for it. It's just a matter of personal preference, I'd like Big Mac or Silva to do the job.

Bonus 1: How many titles will change hands at the event? (maximum of 3) 1

Bonus 2: What will the overall rating of the show be? (two points for spot on, 1 point for 2 either side) 76

Any other comments/questions on the diary: This diary has gone from strong to stronger. The Cruiserweight World Cup was a brilliant idea with a perfect execution so far. The NWF British Heavyweight scene was a concern in early days, now there are 4/5 wrestlers that could hold the belt. The only criticism, a minor issue, is the Tag Team division in the last shows. Future X and The Northern Lights are the only viable champions I see, since Lee and O'Hearne have problems, The British Bangers have been more of a trampoline for Leighton Buzzard and The Force isn't working. However, you made a great job with The Foundation and they have all the tools, so I'm confident that they'll feel important after the Cruiserweight World Cup.

Any other comments/questions on the diary: I'm honestly very unfamiliar with the UK scene in the C-Verse, but your diary has done so well at fleshing out a lot of the region's history and talent that it's hard to not try playing through some of it in my games! Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see how much bigger the NWF can grow!

Cruiserweight World Cup Final: Welsh Dragon vs Edison Silva w/ Mo Adebola

I like Welsh Dragon, I really do, but unless there is some type of interference, I don't see him getting the upset over Silva.

NWF British Tag Team Titles: Future X vs The Northern Lights (C) w/ Frank Finkleton

I feel like it is too early for The Northern Lights to drop the belts.

NWF Cruiserweight Championship: Leighton Buzzard vs JK Lee (C)

Why to I see Leighton winning tonight, one JK Lee has not had the best of luck with his partner Padraig recently, two Padraig could inadvertently cost Lee his title setting up a feud between the two of them, three Leighton winning the title here could set up an eventual rematch between him and Silva down the line, and most importantly four, it would be a banger.

Jase Cole w/ Christopher Lister vs Lone Wolf

With the way the feud is going I think it is too soon for The Force to get a win over Lone Wolf.

If Nate Manchester loses he leaves NWF: Nate Manchester w/ Leo Price vs 'Big Mac' Nathan McKenzie

I feel that this is the big win that Nathan needs to truly reach the main event level.

NWF British Heavyweight Championship: (C) 'The Springbok' Landon Mallory vs 'The Celtic Hammer' Stuart Wilson

Stuart has had a good build and looks to be a credible challenger for Landon, but The Springbok is going to hammer away at Wilson and retain his title.

Bonus 1: How many titles will change hands at the event? (maximum of 3) 1

Bonus 2: What will the overall rating of the show be? (two points for spot on, 1 point for 2 either side) 74

Any other comments/questions on the diary: Great job with the Cruiserweight World Cup and for all the setups done for the matches for this show.  It will be interesting to see how many of the Cruiserweight World Cup contenders stay with NWF and to see how the cruiserweight title scene develops after this show.

Cruiserweight World Cup Final: Welsh Dragon vs Edison Silva w/ Mo Adebola

I don't think Welsh Dragon is ready to beat a guy like Silva yet.

NWF British Tag Team Titles: Future X vs The Northern Lights (C) w/ Frank Finkleton

Good first defense for the champs after they won them in a triple threat

NWF Cruiserweight Championship: Leighton Buzzard vs JK Lee (C)

I could see this going either way, but I think Leighton deserves it after the work he's put in the last couple months

Jase Cole w/ Christopher Lister vs Lone Wolf

I don't see Lone Wolf losing a singles match to a tag specialist after all the video build up for him

If Nate Manchester loses he leaves NWF: Nate Manchester w/ Leo Price vs 'Big Mac' Nathan McKenzie

Poor Big Mac eating another L. If Nate himself wasn't the guy who introduced the stop, I could see him losing and fighting with Frank/Legal to get reinstated

NWF British Heavyweight Championship: (C) 'The Springbok' Landon Mallory vs 'The Celtic Hammer' Stuart Wilson

I'd love to see Stuart win at some point but I don't think it's now

Bonus 1: How many titles will change hands at the event? (maximum of 3): 1

Jackie Goldstein: “Hello and welcome to the finals of the Cruiserweight World Cup! Tonight England faces Wales for the honour of being crowned inaugural Cruiserweight World Champion! My name is Jackie Goldstein, and joining me at ringside is Melanie Florence.”

Melanie Florence: “Thanks Jackie! We have that huge World Cup final match, but let’s not forget we have five other huge match ups! Nate Manchester’s NWF career is on the line as he faces Big Mac – the man who put him on the shelf three months ago! Nate’s not coming alone tonight though, as his former tag team partner Leo ‘The Lion’ Price will be at ringside as an equaliser for any outside interference from The Network!”

Jackie Goldstein: “Speaking of The Network – Future X get their rematch for the British Tag Team Titles after losing them to The Northern Lights at Three Lions. And after months of being the ‘nearly man’, Leighton Buzzard finally gets his chance tonight – as he challenges JK Lee for the Cruiserweight Championship!”

Melanie Florence: “And of course we get to find out if Stuart Wilson’s meticulous preparation pays off, as the former Olympian challenges Landon Mallory for the British Heavyweight Championship in tonights Min Event. What a night we have in store!”

Welsh Dragon VS Edison Silva w/ Mo Adebola

Cruiserweight World Cup Final

We kicked off the evening with the final of the Cruiserweight World Cup! Both of these men had earned their spot in this match over the past month, and now had the opportunity to claim the trophy for their country. We had the very odd situation of the English competitor being booed throughout by the home crowd, with the NWF audience firmly behind Welsh Dragon. This seemed to fire up the Welshman in the early stages, as he took control with his lucha libre inspired moveset. Arm Drags, Drop Toe Holds, Hurricanranas, and more Arm Drags were on display as the Welshman flew around the ring looking for an upset.

With the crowd behind him, Welsh Dragon headed to the top rope – looking for his Dragon Kick (Spinning Thrust Kick from the top rope). Unfortunately for the Welshman, Mo Adebola acted quickly and grabbed hold of the Cruiserweights foot. Edison Silva recovered his feet while Welsh Dragon was trying to kick Mo Adebola off him, and delivered a hard elbow to the temple of the Welshman. With his opponent slumped on the top rope, Silva climbed up to join him and delivered a big Superplex. Both men were still down at the referee’s seven count, when it was the Englishman who was first to his feet. Regaining his senses, Silva sized up his opponent and delivered a wicked looking Knee Strike KO. Silva fell into the cover, and referee Roy Worrall made the three count to crown Edison Silva as the Cruiserweight World Champion.

Winner: Edison Silva

Rating: 61

NWF.jpg.864a09a91e244be379b9346d32e4423c.jpg

Despite Edison Silva being announced as the World Champion on behalf of England, boos rained down from the crowd. Silva celebrated wildly with his legal advisor Mo Adebola as the ring was prepared for the presentation ceremony.

WorldCup.png.f8e7ad1cbe5f20bf2a7bf14949985794.png

With the presentation ready, a disgruntled looking Frank Finkleton begrudgingly handed over the massive trophy to Edison Silva. Finkleton went to ringside to collect an English flag, presumably for Silva to drape over his shoulders - but before the network advisor could get hold of it, Mo Adebola produced a rolled up flag of his own from his breast pocket and draped it over his clients shoulders.

The boos intensified, as Edison Silva paraded around the ring with a Brazilian flag draped over his shoulders. While his client celebrated, Mo Adebola grabbed a microphone.

MoAdebola.jpg.033e81b560ee73cc415e0e38562a328a.jpg

Mo Adebola: “We told you people that if you didn’t show my client some respect you would regret it! So allow me to introduce you to your Cruiserweight World Champion – representing BRAZIL, the land of real World Champions, Edison Silva!”

The crowd was really riled up now and, perhaps sensing this, Edison Silva and Mo Adebola began to make their way to the back – Silva waving his trophy at the crowd, still wearing the Brazilian flag around his shoulders.

Future X (Petey Barnes & Eric Future) VS The Northern Lights (Alton Vicious & Riddick Jordan)

NWF British Tag Team Titles

This match came about when Future X activated their rematch clause. The former champions could be considered unlucky to have lost the titles, having lost them in a Triple Threat Tag Team match where they were never pinned or submitted.

Future X certainly gave The Northern Lights as good as they got in this back and forth contest between two hugely experienced teams. This was an exhibition of tag team wrestling - with double team moves, regular tags and great psychology on show in what was undoubtedly the best tag team match in NWF history. Despite both teams earning a number of near falls, it was the size and power advantage of The Northern Lights that won out as the duo hit their Lights Out (Doomsday Device) on Eric Future to secure their second title defence.

Winners: The Northern Lights – Title Defence #2

We cut backstage to find Chuck Frisby cooking up a new money making scheme after being told earlier this week that there would be no more Frisby Foundation for Fitness physical challenges on National Wrestling. Frisby seemed lost in his schemes, until Stuart Wilson walked into shot.

Stuart Wilson: “Chucky… I never got the chance to say thank you for the money! After our little lawsuit I’ve got my own gym, I’ve got a shot at the title… but you keep your head up Chucky, I’m sure things will turn around for you too!”

Wilson walked off laughing, as a seething Chuck Frisby turned to Dwayne Dark.

Chuck Frisby: “Forget the money Dwayne, we have a new plan…”

Leighton Buzzard VS ‘The Bulldog’ JK Lee (C)

NWF Cruiserweight Championship

After months of falling at the final hurdle, Leighton Buzzard finally had his opportunity to make his mark. However, JK Lee looked to spoil the party as his tenacity proved too much for Buzzard and he overwhelmed the challenger with his mat wrestling skills. Lee continued to apply the pressure and dominated proceedings for the first five minutes of the contest, before Buzzard finally broke free of his clutches.

Buzzard picked up the pace and took the champion off his feet with a series of Flying Forearms, before delivering a picture perfect Dropkick. Looking to press home his advantage, the challenger headed to the top rope looking for an Impact Missile Dropkick – but some quick thinking from the champ saw JK Lee pull referee Roy Worrall in front of him to leave all three men down.

PadraigOHearne.jpg.2ca834942f81e6756399d13ce0a6e8ed.jpg

With all three men down in the ring, Padraig O’Hearne appeared from the back and tried to grab the Cruiserweight title from the timekeeper at ringside. However, the timekeeper didn’t want to give up the belt and a tussle ensued. The Irishman finally ripped the belt away from the timekeeper, before sliding into the ring and motioning for Buzzard to get to his feet. O’Hearne was so focused on his victim that he didn’t notice referee Roy Worrall regaining his senses behind him – and when O’Hearne swung the belt at Buzzard, the referee was able to grab the belt out of O’Hearne’s hands!

JK Lee couldn’t believe what he was seeing, and asked his partner what he was doing out here? The Irishman protested that he was here to help, but a frustrated Lee told O’Hearne to get out of here! Lee stared down O’Hearne until the Irishman was all the way to the back. Lee’s expression turned from fury to shock, as Leighton Buzzard surprised the champion with a quick rollup from behind! 1… 2… 3! NEW CHAMPION! Leighton Buzzard immediately bailed from the ring and accepted the belt from Roy Worrall, before jumping into the crowd to celebrate as JK Lee seethed in the ring.

Winner: Leighton Buzzard – New Cruiserweight Champion

After months of preparation, High Society had finally made it - the biggest social event of the season. The boys were dressed to the nines in their tailored suits, as they walked into an impressive looking manor house and accepted a glass of champagne from a waiter.

Byron: “This is it boys, we’ve made it!”

We were introduced to Dylan Drama’s father - Charles, the man who had secured High Society this invitation. The four men shook hands, before Charles introduced them to the best and the brightest of the London social scene.

The group did the rounds, shook hands and schmoozed with all the right connections – until they were finally introduced to a man Charles told us was THE man to know in London. High Society were introduced, and the man took a particular interest in Dylan – telling him he must meet his daughter Beatrice’s date for the evening. A musician, don’t you know. Very popular among people your age…

Dangermouth.jpg.4509e92425309d10d10773d7bfeb90f5.jpg

Beatrice and her date were called over, and Byron’s mouth immediately fell to the floor as Dangermouth strolled across the room looking every inch the grime star in his grey tuxedo. Beatrice’s father introduced Dangermouth as a ‘grimy star’… whatever that was, but Byron didn’t seem to be taking any of it in as his face grew redder and redder… until he finally exploded and took Dangermouth down with a heavy right hand.

Pandemonium erupted as the socialites pushed themselves back against the walls as the two men brawled. Hands were over mouths as security desperately tried to pull the men apart as Byron continued to hammer away at Dangermouth with right hands.

Byron: “Why… are… you… here? You’ve… ruined… everything!”

Security pulled the two men apart and immediately escorted them from the premises. The party-goers moved back into their circles and the brawl was of course the hot topic of conversation. Beatrice asked Dylan where that man (Byron) had come from, and Dylan replied that Beatrice needn’t worry – she wouldn’t be seeing him at one of these events again…

Jase Cole w/ Christopher Lister VS Lone Wolf

Jase Cole had challenged Lone Wolf to this match, knowing that he had to defeat the mysterious new comer in order to restore balance to the force. Unfortunately for Jase Cole, he was simply overpowered by his Light Heavyweight opponent. Cole, usually so adept at dodging incoming blows, was repeatedly caught off guard by Lone Wolf’s heavy punches – before the dark side user hit his Full Nelson Slam to put away Jase Cole and the force remained imbalanced.

‘The Real Angel Of The North’ Nate Manchester w/ Leo Price VS ‘Big Mac’ Nathan McKenzie

If Nate Manchester loses he leaves NWF forever

This was Nate Manchester’s first match in an NWF ring since March, when Big Mac had put him on the shelf for three months. Given the stipulation of the match, and the likelihood of outside involvement from The Network, Nate Manchester had brought an insurance policy with him – as Leo Price accompanied him to ringside.

Nate Manchester came out of the blocks on fire, seemingly desperate to get his hands on the man who had injured him at March Madness. After a few early flurrys, Nate went for a Roundhouse Kick that was impressively caught by Big Mac! The Big Australian delivered a Dragon Screw, after which Nate had a noticeable limp on the side of his previously injured knee.

Perhaps due to his knee, ‘The Real Angel Of The North’ was never really able to get going and was slowly picked apart by Big Mac. The Big Australian seemed to enjoy delivering a series of power moves to a helpless opponent. Seemingly content with the damage he had done - Big Mac hoisted Nate onto his shoulder and delivered a Snake Eyes to the top turnbuckle, before bouncing off the far ropes and launching into an explosive Spear! The big Australian crawled into the cover, and stared directly into the eyes of Leo Price as Roy Worrall counted the three to send Nate Manchester out of the NWF!

After the bell, Leo Price helped his former tag team partner back to his feet and allowed ‘The Real Angel Of The North’ to wave goodbye to the NWF Crowd. The two men hugged, before Price joined the NWF crowd in applauding the Geordie as he left the NWF ring for the final time.

With the crowd still reeling from the news that Nate Manchester was out of the NWF, we cut backstage to the British Heavyweight Champion Landon Mallory – who was ready in the interview zone ahead of tonight’s Main Event.

Rachel Dearheart: “Stuart Wilson has been very thorough in his preparation for tonight’s title challenge. Do you think that preparation will give him an edge tonight?”

Landon Mallory: “Look Rachel, there’s no denying that Stuart Wilson is prepared for tonight’s match – but I’m prepared too. The man is a former Olympian, and I don’t take him lightly. But I’m still yet to meet a man who can withstand the Springbok Ram! Yebo!

With that a fired up Landon Mallory headed for the ring, and Rachel Dearheart told us that the Main Event was up next!

(C) ‘The Springbok’ Landon Mallory VS ‘The Celtic Hammer’ Stuart Wilson

NWF British Heavyweight Championship

This match felt like the meeting of an irresistible force and an immovable object. Landon Mallory was a battering ram of a man, but Stuart Wilson was a true Muscular Heavyweight weighing over 300lb of muscle.

Wilson started the match by offering Mallory a test of strength. This was an offer the champion would have accepted under normal circumstances, but perhaps having seen Wilson’s match with Evan Alpass the champion chose to decline the test and instead looked to pick his moments and utilise his quickness to strike and move.

Undeterred Wilson continued to push and probe at Mallory’s defences, and was eventually rewarded when he finally got hold of the champion. Sensing his moment, Wilson began to unload with his explosive power. A belly to belly Suplex threw Mallory half way across the ring, before Wilson hoisted Mallory overhead for a Military Press Slam that earned the Olympian a two count.

With the champion on the ropes, the match quickly descended into a Wild Brawl – with both men throwing haymakers. The momentum swung back and forth, until Wilson’s size finally told and ‘The Celtic Warrior’ delivered a second Belly to Belly Suplex to take control. With the champion reeling, Wilson hoisted Mallory onto his shoulder looking for his Bronze Bomber (Running Powerslam). However before Wilson could deliver the move, The Springbok was able to shift his weight and slip out of the back – and in an incredible show of strength, transition Stuart Wilson into a Running Powerslam of his own! The ring shook as the Muscular Heavyweight slammed down, and The Springbok beat his chest as he fed from the crowds energy. Stalking his prey, the South African waited for Wilson to regain his feet before launching into a huge Springbok Ram (Gore)! The champion fell into the cover, and the crowd counted along as referee Roy Worrall counted the three to hand The Springbok a hard fought title defence – in a match that will go down as the new best match in NWF history.

Winner: ‘The Springbok’ Landon Mallory – Title Defence #3

Jackie Goldstein: “Landon Mallory does it! Stuart Wilson pushed him to his limits, but The Springbok found a way!”

Melanie Florence: “What a match! What a show! We’ve seen Edison Silva crowned as Cruiserweight World Champion for England… Brazil? Who knows at this point! We’ve seen Leighton Buzzard win the Cruiserweight Title! Nate Manchester has to leave the NWF! And then we finish with Landon Mallory and Stuart Wilson tearing the house down!”

Jackie Goldstein: “And who can forget Byron being forcibly removed from London’s most exclusive event!”

Melanie Florence (sounding deflated): “Oh… don’t remind me!”

Jackie Goldstein: “For all of the fallout, be sure to join us on Wednesday night for National Wrestling – exclusively on WrestleWorld GB! Thank you for joining us, and goodnight!”
