LSW King Of The Rodeo 2022 - Day #4
Wednesday, Week 1, October 2022
Held in Dallas, TX (Mid South) in front of 3,160 people
97,979 viewers on WrestleWorld

The fourth and final night of the King of the Rodeo 2002 kicks off with the boss Ricky Dale Johnson hyping up the Quarter Finals that will start right after this segment. RDJ clearly enjoys having the freedom to go off-script and performs well, doing some good recap of the upcoming bouts. A nice opening to gets the crowd involved, the announcers are ready to call the acton, and some extra Ks spent on special set makes the stage even better; it’s a big night for Lone Star Wrestling and for the winner of the King of the Rodeo tournament, as the one who can survive the single-elimination rounds will take home the trophy and a $10,000 maxi-check sponsored by Herrera Steak, the best steak in town! [73]

alcoleman.png   jamesprudence.png
Al Coleman vs James Prudence in the Quarter-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo

"Mr. Submission" Al Coleman squares up against "Platinum" James Prudence. Both coming off recent defeats in Texas Heavyweight title matches, although James Prudence has some mistakes in refereeing to complain about, these two competitors are still main event caliber wrestlers and it shows in this decent wrestling bout with good heat from the Dallas fans. After fourteen minutes, James Prudence is able to reverse an Ankle Brace by Al Coleman, and although his right leg was damaged by "Mr. Submission's" offensive, "Platinum" scores the W after hitting his Surf's Up to pin his opponent. [54]

In a backstage angle, Davis Wayne Newton walks toward Dreadnought and his agent Laura Catherine Huggins. The behemoth looks ready to rough him up as soon as he sees him, but DWN manages to convince him to make a proposal, aided by the diplomacy of his agent. These two heels clashed recently, true, but they shouldn't have! That damn Southern Stinger pushed them against each other because that was the only way he could keep the Brass Knuckles championship. After a very partisan retelling of the facts, DWN proposes that Dreadnought and Laura Catherine Huggins start working together, saying he is sure that the three of them together would be unstoppable, a real "Triple Threat" - pun intended. Dreadnought does not seem convinced at all, but His Agent takes the floor, saying they will think about it and get an answer to Davis Wayne Newton in due course. [52]

Shooter Sean Deeley vs Southern Stinger in the Quarter-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo

And talking about Southern Stinger, the LSW Brass Knuckles champ is up next, against Shooter Sean Deeley. In a bout that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, both competitors fight an intense match, with “The Stinger” who gets close to a submission win with his Stinger Fall, and with “The Shooter” who almost does the same with a Stretch Armbar. After twelve minutes, Sean Deeley ducks the Rayne Drop, and after few seconds connects a Tornado German Suplex, going for the pin: 1 .. 2 .. 3! “The Wrestling Machine” defeats one of the fan favourites clean in the ring to advance to the Semi-finals! [56]

kipkeenan.png   taheijikonoe.png
Kip Keenan vs Taheiji Konoe in the Quarter-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo

In a bout that has great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, LSW Texas Heavyweight champ Kip Keenan goes one-on-one against Taheiji Konoe, accompanied by his manager Duke Hazzard. A balanced fight between these two, after ten minutes “The Animal” from Japan gets himself disqualified after going into an attacking rage. This match gets the crowd hotter. [67]

After the bell, Taheiji Konoe keeps hitting Kip Keenan, and "The Animal" manages to be calmed down only by his manager, Duke Hazzard, who with a mix of English simple words and Japanese mispronounced words placates his assisted. "The American Eagle" advances to the Rodeo Semi-Finals after this DQ win. [51]

Texas Hangman vs Jared Johnson in the Quarter-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo

In the fourth and last Quarter-finals match, two babyfaces square up in an intense but fair bout that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd. After ten minutes Jared Johnson almost locks his opponent into the Carolina Crossface, and that’s really the highlight of this one-on-one. After that, “Double J” gets punished by a huge big boot by the imposing heavyweight, and Texas Hangman gets the W after a Choke Slam for the 1-2-3. [61]

On his way out to the ring for his Semi-finals match, Shooter Sean Deeley is stopped by sports agent Vinny Cruz, who in his slimy manner compliments him on the impact he has made right away in Lone Star Wrestling, wishing him a victory in the Rodeo and hoping to talk business with him very soon. The moment Vinny Cruz extends a business card toward "The Shooter," Cali Slick bursts on the scene, questioning his agent about what is going on. Vinny Cruz quickly hides the card, mumbling a few excuses and merely paying Sean Deeley a few compliments. Seeming absolutely uninterested by Cruz's tampering, "The Shooter" resumes walking toward the stage, while Cali Slick looks to his agent Vinny Cruz with increasing suspicion. [50]

jamesprudence.png   shooterseandeeley.png
James Prudence vs Shooter Sean Deeley in the Semi-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo

Despite good heat from the crowd and decent wrestling, this bout could have been much better, but unfortunately "Platinum" and "The Shooter" don't seem to click at all and it made for an awkward match. Sean Deeley, who's getting better at his legitimate athlete gimmick, keeps working on James Prudence's leg and ankle, already injured by Al Coleman during the Quarter-finals. However, after thirteen minutes, James Prudence is able to lock his opponent into his signature move, the Prudential Pain Plan! Shooter Sean Deeley shows resistance, finding a way to get at least partially out of the submission hold, but at this point the experienced James Prudence shifts his center of gravity and rolls on the ground, bringing Sean Deeley's shoulders onto the mat: 1 ... 2 .. 3!! "Platinum" defeats "The Shooter" with a quick pinfall and moves to the Final match! [51]

In a backstage angle, Jason Patterson and Jules Night, the latter still with a bandaged arm, have a heated discussion with New Yorkers Antonio Del Veccio and Brutus Milano, as the Italian-Americans injured "Sandman" and broke his arm during an 8-Tag Battle Royal not long ago. A challenge ensues between The Oklahomans and The Empire for the foreseeable future, a tag team match as soon as Jules Night will be cleared for action. [34]

kipkeenan.png   texashangman.png
Kip Keenan vs Texas Hangman in the Semi-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo

While James Prudence awaits, only one of these two babyface stars will be in the main event and final match of the King of the Rodeo tournament. In a bout that has superb wrestling and good heat, after eleven minutes Kip Keenan tries to lift Texas Hangman on his shoulders for the One-Winged Eagle, but the heavyweight piles on the ground and doesn't get lifted up, counterattacking few seconds later with a Big Boot! “The Hangman” then takes the champ by his neck, attempting his Choke Slam, but “The American Eagle” manages to trip him and bring him on the mat for a winning surprise cradle. Kip Keenan defeats Texas Hangman and joins James Prudence in the Final of the King of the Rodeo. [66]

After the bell, a pissed off Texas Hangman walks straight at Kip Keenan, seated at a corner. After a couple of seconds, "The Hangman" extends his hand and lifts the LSW Texas Heavyweight champ, accepting defeat and honoring "The American Eagle," who reciprocates. An unexpected attitude from the big heavyweight, especially compared to how we were used to seeing him. It would seem that the face turn that occurred after leaving The Strong Hand faction is final now. [67]

In a backstage angle, Prime Time Jack Pryde, accompanied by his valet Venus Angeletti, meets with The Most Wanted faction to talk about their recent mutual partnership during the King of the Rodeo tournament. “Prime Time” says that David Stone, Xavi Ferrera, Tavon Blake Jr and Miller Fforde are all eager to put their hands on him, so Jack Pryde ask Maverick Chip Martin, Outlaw Wes Revell and Bandit Waylon Walls to team up with him in a four-on-four match. The Most Wanted were looking for a new chance to shine, right? This could be the first step! Surprisingly, Bandit Waylon Walls makes the decision on behalf of the team, accepting the proposal. This shows how The Most Wanted are still looking for a real leader, as last time was Outlaw Wes Revell to call the shot. [39]

jamesprudence.png   kipkeenan.png
James Prudence vs Kip Keenan in the Final of LSW King Of The Rodeo
The aim of the match is to build a spectacle, and thanks to both competitors’ psychology the result is pretty damn good. After more than a quarter of an hour, James Prudence starts choking Kip Keenan with his lethal Prudential Pain Plan, but the champ manages to reach the rope for a Rope Break! Kip Keenan already got close to win the bout a couple of times, but he’s now looking to finish it with his beautiful One-Winged Eagle! The move is avoided by James Prudence, who seconds later strikes with his Surf’s Up! IT’S OVER! 1 .. 2 .. 3!? NOO!! Really really really tough call by the referee, as it’s impossible to determine if Kip Keenan lifted his shoulders at 2.99 or at 3.01, but the referee doesn’t ring the ball, considering it a kickout by “The American Eagle”! James Prudence argues vividly with the referee, yelling at his face. “Platinum” was already screwed once against Kip Keenan recently, or at least that’s what he thinks, and now he’s sure that the count was a clear three, he should be the King of the Rodeo already! Back at the action, and after a little bump the referee is now down on the mat. Tensions rise, something just snaps inside James Prudence as he kicks Kip Keenan on his groin! NO!! The over three thousands fans in attendance react just like the announcing team. Everyone is shocked, James Prudence just turned heel on Kip Keenan, and as the referee recovers his senses, “Platinum” locks Kip Keenan into his Prudential Pain Plan as the champ blackouts: James Prudence wins the third edition of the King of the Rodeo tournament! [63]

The initial shock turns into a broadside of booing from the Dallas crowd. James Prudence grabs a mic and stops the planned celebration, saying to staff members that he will take pictures with the Rodeo trophy and the $10,000 maxi-check after this. "Platinum just wants to say something to Kip Keenan now, as he considers the champ nothing more than a protected and lucky brat, constantly helped by the referees, by the ownership, and undeservedly carried in triumph by all LSW fans! James Prudence does a masterful job of improvising interactions with the crowd, saying he got tired of being the good guy who got screwed by a less talented, less successful, less iconic bubbly babyface. "Platinum" should have been LSW Texas Heavyweight champ for months, and he won't wait any longer. "The King of the Rodeo" wants his crown, he wants Kip Keenan, he wants the big belt, he wants a Cage match at LSW No Way Out of the Cage 2022, in just two weeks! [72]

Congratulations on the rating of Thunderstrike and that fantastic Main Event! Kip and Al Coleman make a perfect matchup.

Thx man! Yeah we'll definitely has to run it again between Kip and Coleman!

I think Shooter Sean Deeley has the skills to be a big player in LSW, and a match between Deeley/Keenan should score really well! Giving Deeley the win in the King Of The Rodeo means you can then run it back for the title.

He definitely was one of the candidates, but in the end I went for Prudence to finally turn him heel over Keenan.

"The Shooter" is going to be a big big player tho, just wait a little bit more ;)

LSW Opened New Training Facility!

Some great news for Lone Star Wrestling, as owner Ricky Dale Johnson just announced the opening of a new training facility in San Antonio. The Rattlesnake Wrestling Academy would serve as the breeding ground for the next generation of Southern wrestlers, embodying the proud tradition of Texan wrestling excellence. It is estimated that LSW has spent about $280,000 to set up the dojo, and that the monthly cost will be around $25,000 per month. The training level is at 60% and the facilities at 40%. Graduation of the first class should be around November 2023, little more than a year from now.

Preview for LSW No Way Out of the Cage 2022

The Most Wanted (Revell, Walls, Martin), Jack Pryde vs Stone, Blake Jr, Fforde, Ferrera
The ownership has made official a four-on-four match that will see The Most Wanted faction teaming up with Prime Time Jack Pryde, as these two sides continue a partnership. Their opponents are four babyfaces who have all been screwed during the King of the Rodeo, the Canadian next gen stars David Stone, Tavon Blake Jr, Miller Fforde and Xavi Ferrera. So keen is the desire to teach Maverick Chip Martin, Bandit Waylon Walls, Outlaw Wes Revell and, most of all, Prime Time Jack Pryde a lesson. Will the babyfaces be able to triumph? Or will the Jack Pryde-The Most Wanted connection prevail?

The Empire (Del Veccio, Milano) The Oklahomans (Patterson, Night)
Jules Night is back from his broken arm injury and he's teaming up with fellow Oklahoman Jason Patterson to collide against Antonio Del Veccio and Brutus Milano, the latter the one who caused the injury during an 8-Tag Battle Royal a couple of months ago. The Empire from New York go against The Oklahomans in tag team action, which duo will come out on top?

Al Coleman vs Frankie Perez
The South West sensation, "Buzzsaw" Frankie Perez will stop in the Mid South for a while longer, as Ricky Dale Johnson has struck a deal for one more appearance in LSW. One of the best competitors on the indie scene, Frankie Perez will be going up against "Mr. Submission" Al Coleman, another competitor from the South West who has been stepping up even further in Lone Star Wrestling lately. What would appear to be a potential technical masterclass will be staged at LSW No Way Out of the Cage 2022 and it would be foolish to miss such an interesting match-up.

The Dynamite Express (Jones, Collier) vs The Wild Cats (El Jaguar, Tigre Salvaje Jr)
Cam Jones and Syd Collier are on a roll since their arrival in the Mid South, rapidly becoming a serious threat in a booming tag team division. The Wild Cats will want to obstruct The Dynamite Express, however, and slow down its run, as the babyface luchadores are set to square up against the heelish duo in an attempt to snatch a very important victory for the tag team rankings inside Lone Star Wrestling.

Cali Slick vs Jared Johnson
Once again, the rivalry between Cali Slick and Jared Johnson brings the two competitors to clash one versus one, this time for the decisive showdown. "Double J" undoubtedly has the advantage, but Cali Slick's recent victory, albeit a tainted one, has brought things almost even. "The Draw" is looking for a decisive win to prove his worth to everyone, even at his agent Vinny Cruz who lately seems to have lost confidence in his client. Jared Johnson is motivated, however, to lock the Californian in his Carolina Crossface and not let him go until his rival has tap out.

Heartbreak Express (Needham, Liotta) (c) vs American Cobras (Malloy, Spillane) for the LSW Tag Team titles
In a championship match initially set for last month, The Heartbreak Express will finally defend their title belts against former champs The American Cobras, in a babyface vs. babyface tag team match that promises to be very balanced. Johnny Needham and Ralph Liotta reached the top of the division in 2022, winning first the Mid South Tag Series and then the LSW Tag Team championships, while Storm Spillane and Marvel Malloy remain among the best tag team competitors in the world. You can't miss this!

Kip Keenan (c) vs James Prudence in a Cage match for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title
And in the main event, the most anticipated match will see the champ Kip Keenan defend his title belt against “The King of the Rodeo” James Prudence, inside a Steel Cage! The memory of Platinum’s heel turn in the final Rodeo tournament is still fresh, sick of seeing a less talented, less successful, less iconic brat in his place as the major star of Lone Star Wrestling. The King of the South is seeking the crown, but to get it he will have to defeat the best Texas Heavyweight champ in history, “The American Eagle” Kip Keenan. There's No Way Out of the Cage, there's no way out of this showdown; who will walk out as the champ?

Key for Predictions:
The Most Wanted, Jack Pryde vs Stone, Blake Jr, Fforde, Ferrera [1 Pts]
The Heartbreak Express (c) vs The American Cobras for the LSW Tag Team titles [1 Pts]
The Dynamite Express vs The Wild Cats [1 Pts]

There's probably more talent on the Face side, but I can see the Heel's cheating to steal this one and give The Most Wanted a lift

Will probably go the other way, but I still want Express vs Express for the title!

The Dynamite Express vs The Wild Cats [1 Pts]
See above

The Empire vs The Oklahomans [1 Pts]
I like the Oklahomans, but they seem to have stalled whereas The Empire are on the rise

Cali Slick vs Jared Johnson [1 Pts]
JJ could well be next in line to challenge the big belt

Al Coleman vs Frankie Perez [1 Pts]
Al Coleman just took part in LSW's best match to date, whereas I feel we haven't seen Frankie in a while

Kip Keenan (c) vs James Prudence in a Cage match for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title [1 Pts]
Kip has been knocking it out of the park as champ, and, while Prudence has just turned Heel, his matches haven't been at the same level

The Most Wanted (Revell, Walls, Martin), Jack Pryde vs Stone, Blake Jr, Fforde, Ferrera

The opening is a multi-man bout with The Most Wanted Faction and Prime Time Jack Pryde versus babyfaces David Stone, Tavon Blake Jr, Miller Fforde and Xavi Ferrera, in a decent match aiming to work the crowd. After around ten minutes, Prime Time Jack Pryde kinda steals the tag from Maverick Chip Martin before pinning Tavon Blake Jr with a PrydeFall for the 1-2-3! Despite the loss, David Stone has been kept strong on the babyface team. [46]

After the bell, The Most Wanted members encircle Prime Time Jack Pryde, as Maverick Chip Martin gets closer and closer and asks about that “stolen” tag, while Venus Angeletti at ringside begins to worry for his assisted. Suddenly, and unexpectedly, “The Maverick” lets out a laugh, hugging “Prime Time” and letting him know he was just playing a joke on him. Jack Pryde breathes a sigh of relief and celebrates with Chip Martin, with whom he shared his first steps here in Lone Star Wrestling amid trials and tribulations, and later Bandit Waylon Walls and Outlaw Wes Revell also get a nod with “Prime Time”. Could that spoiled brat of Jack Pryde finally have found his “Inner Circle”? [40]

antoniodelveccio.png brutusmilano.png   jasonpatterson.png julesnight.png
The Empire (Del Veccio, Milano) The Oklahomans (Patterson, Night)

In a bout that has a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, The Empire score the win in seven minutes after the ripped heavyweight Brutus Milano submits “Sandman” Jules Night with an Italian Backbreaker. In terms of in-ring work, Antonio Del Veccio has been head and shoulders above everyone else, while Jason patterson has been the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else’s in-ring performance. The announcing quality lifts the match. [42]

The crew takes us backstage where Quentin Queen basically demanded the line, holding a cameraman and saying he is furious for not having a match tonight! “Q-Man” says he’s one of the most aggressive wrestlers here in the Mid South and every one of his matches should be in the main event here in LSW. The blackheart issues a challenge for LSW Spurs and Stripes, saying he is confident he can beat anyon... OH! OH! Behind Quentin Queen stands Texas Hangman, the big heavyweight babyface who famously is one of the most feared competitors here in LSW. “The Hangman” interrupts Quentin Queen, asking him if he really believes he can beat anyone, even him. “Q-Man” stutters slightly, but then realizes that he would be seen as weak if he backtracked, confirming with conviction what he said! He can beat anyone, even Texas Hangman! And he himself will talk to the boss Ricky Dale Johnson to propose this one-on-one. [44]

alcoleman.png   frankieperez.png
Al Coleman vs Frankie Perez
In a technical masterclass that has great wrestling and good heat, “Mr. Submission” Al Coleman and “Buzzsaw” Frankie Perez go at each other for fifteen minutes, trying to technically outmaneuver their opponent and proving that they are the best wrestler out of the two. Eventually, heel Al Coleman manages to close his submission maneuver and trap Frankie Perez in the center of the ring. The Ankle Brace is in, and “Buzzsaw” has no other chance but to tap out, huge W for Al Coleman. [61]

camjones.png sydcollier.png   eljaguar.png tigresalvajejr.png
The Dynamite Express (Jones, Collier) vs The Wild Cats (El Jaguar, Tigre Salvaje Jr)
In a decent tag team match, Mexican luchadores The Wild Cats showcase their technical and flashiness abilities, while The Dynamite Express counter them with some brawling and headlocks to slow them down. After eight minutes, Cam Jones and Syd Collier dispose of El Jaguar who is thrown violently against the ring post, then focusing on Tigre Salvaje Jr who gets pinned by Cam Jones after a Chop And Change. Another victory for The Dynamite Express whose momentum continues to get hotter and hotter. [52]

Beloved Southern Stinger is in the ring and does a promo on his next title defenses as Brass Knuckles champ, again with his nutty attitude, being interrupted, however, by Dreadnought, Laura Catherine Huggins, and Davis Wayne Newton! It seems that DWN has convinced the behemoth and his agent to team up, and the two heel wrestlers slowly reach the ring, then hurling themselves at “The Stinger” in a two-on-one that sees them get the better of it. Here comes the cavalry though, as “The Motor City Menace” Rob Reynolds, first Brass Knuckles champ who lost the title to Davis Wayne Newton of all people, makes a save and helps Southern Stinger by bringing back numerical parity in this wild brawl. The heelish group beats a retreat, but some sort of match is in the near future. [41]

calislick.png   jaredjohnson.png
Cali Slick vs Jared Johnson

The showdown between Cali Slick and Jared Johnson turns out to be a great match with decent heat from the Texan crowd also. The agent Vinny Cruz and his security guard Big Smash Clay watch the match from ringside, but this time they do not interfere in any way in the bout. After twelve minutes, the Slick Back is avoided by Jared Johnson who hangs on the rope, and within seconds “Double J” locks his rival into a Carolina Crossface. Cali Slick with determination crawls toward the ropes, but at the last moment Jared Johnson rolls him into the middle of the squared circle with mastery, forcing him to tap out! “Double J” wins it by submission. [65]

Duke Hazzard walks out alongside his assisted, “The Animal” Taheiji Konoe, a savage competitor from Japan who shown is brutality in his first appearances in Lone Star Wrestling. Enjoying having the freedome to go ogg-script, “The Sheriff” Duke Hazzard performs well and hypes Taheiji Konoe, who will have a match against an unlucky local worker, right here, right now. [39]

taheijikonoe.png   rafesashay.png
Taheiji Konoe vs Rafe Sashay

In a bout that has sub-par wrestling and non-existent crowd heat, Taheiji Konoe defeats Rafe Sashay with easy in four minutes, pinning him after a Savage Cradle DDT. The local worker is off his game and doesn’t help the ratings, but this match goal was to just give “The Animal” another dominating victory. [26]

The cameras pinch an interesting situation backstage, as once again the weasel sports agent Vinny Cruz, accompanied by his security guard Big Smash Clay, is caught courting Shooter Sean Deeley to convince him to become his new client. “The Shooter” does not seem convinced, however, despite several promises made by the sports agent, and also asks if his current client Cali Slick is pleased by his flattery. “Oh, don't worry about Cali Sl..,” Vinny Cruz stops noticing the cameraman and starts yelling at him, with Big Smash Clay promptly pouncing on the camera, and just then the crew takes us back inside the ring. [42]

johnnyneedham.png ralphliotta.png   marvelmalloy.png stormspillane.png
Heartbreak Express (Needham, Liotta) (c) vs American Cobras (Malloy, Spillane) for the LSW Tag Team titles
In a bout that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, two babyface duos collide in probably the best tag team match in Lone Star Wrestling history at date. After eleven minutes of great action, The Heartbreak Express find victory as Johnny Needham pins Storm Spillane after a combined The Score on him. At the end of an honest and competitive match, the two bubbly babyfaces walk out still as LSW Tag Team champs to their delight, and that of their valet Sweet Tabitha at ringside. [63]

A train wreck occurs right after the bell! The Dynamite Express storm in out of nowhere and blindside The Heartbreak Express who were about to celebrate alongside their valet Sweet Tabitha. Cam Jones and Syd Collier meanly assault the LSW Tag Team champs, leaving both Johnny Needham and Ralph Liotta down and out and sending a clear message: The Dynamite Express are aiming straight for the tag team title belts. [31]

And it’s now time for the main event! As the steel cage structure gets closed by a huge padlock, Kip Keenan and recently turned heel James Prudence have an intense staredown that lits the crowd. The Texas Heavyweight championship is up for grabs, two major stars are ready to collide, and there’s No Way Out of The Cage! [70]

Kip Keenan (c) vs James Prudence in a Cage match for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title

In a bout that has superb wrestling and great heat, babyface champ Kip Keenan and heel challenger James Prudence collide inside the cage after recent heel turn by James Prudence during the Final match of the King of the Rodeo. Starting slowly and building a spectacle, exploiting the steel structure as a weapon and highlighting the fact that it is not a Way Out - pun intended - of this match, the two major stars fight for eighteen minutes. “Platinum” gets once again super close to win clean against “The American Eagle,” who kicks out from a Surf's Up and is able to escape the lethal Prudential Pain Plan submission hold, while James Prudence avoids Kip Keenan's signature a couple of times during the bout. In the final exchange, “Platinum” goes for the Surf's Up once again, but the champ ducks it and reverses it, bringing the challenger on his shoulders: ONE-WINGED EAGLE! 1 .. 2 .. 3!! Kip Keenan makes defence number seven of the LSW Texas Heavyweight title. [68]

After the bell, the referee gives “The American Eagle” is championship belt and the babyface celebrates, before turning to an exhausted James Prudence who looks at him dark in the face, seated in a corner. As if to scold him, Kip Keenan asks if it was worth it to become the bad guy for this, if it was worth it to betray the trust of this beautiful crowd, if it was worth it to lose everyone's respect. WAS IT WORTH IT, JAMES?!? An emotional promo from Kip Keenan who enjoys having the freedome to go off-script, while James Prudence suffers these heavy words by staying quiet with his head down. [72]

Wow, Kip is becoming one of your strongest champions. I liked that last segment asking if it was worth turning heel to Platinum, it was very creative. Express vs Express is happening, just like @Charasmatic Enigma wanted. Double J is looking good, Al Coleman got a victory he deserved and The Most Wanted are in a rebuilding process. Solid event with a grand finale.

Although this The Most Wanted has little to do with the originals I think they'll still win

You right, they are! Hard to replace Bradley Blaze, huh? But I guess they can be a useful midcard act atm

Kip has been knocking it out of the park as champ, and, while Prudence has just turned Heel, his matches haven't been at the same level

Total Wrestling News: Tag Champs Signed Exclusively!

The status of The Heartbreak Express has been clarified last night, as current COTT Tag Team champs and LSW Tag Team champs agreed to extend their stay with Mid Atlantic Wrestling with an exclusive handshake deal, keeping them with the promotion long-term. The news was greeted with surprise by many industry insiders, including the ownership of Lone Star Wrestling, which was sure to have secured the exclusive services of The Heartbreak Express for the next few years. This was also quite evident by the fact that they defended their LSW Tag Team title straps recently, but apparently Ricky Dale Johnson blew it on this one.

Preview for LSW Spurs and Stripes 2022

The American Cobras (Malloy, Spillane) vs The Empire (Del Veccio, Milano)
After losing their title match against The Heartbreak Express, The American Cobras classily acknowledged the defeat and congratulated the champs, and now their focus is already on their next match, as Marvel Malloy and Storm Spillane want to regain a title shot as soon as possible. Their opponents will be Antonio Del Veccio and Brutus Milano, two tough-as-nails heel competitors from NY who in turn are looking for a win against a renowned duo that will propel them to the top of the tag team rankings.

Taheiji Konoe vs Tavon Blake Jr
“The Animal” Taheiji Konoe continues to convince with his ferocity inside the ring, led by his manager Duke Hazzard who is over the moon after showing the Mid South the dangerousness of his Japanese beast. Lacking a bit in technical abilities though, “The Grappler” Tavon Blake Jr looks like an interesting challenger to Taheiji Konoe and one who could trap the beast with his grappling and ground and pound.

Davis Wayne Newton, Dreadnought vs Southern Stinger, Rob Reynolds
The new alliance of Davis Wayne Newton and Dreadnought was convinced to impose itself on Southern Stinger due to their numerical superiority, but Rob Reynolds' valiant rescue brought the scores back into balance. The LSW Brass Knuckles champ “The Stinger” has found a valuable and trustful ally in Rob Reynolds, and the two babyfaces will now collide in tag team action against DWN and Dreadnought, who will collaborate for the first time as a duo.

“Was it worthy, James?!” We’ll hear it from “The King of the Rodeo” James Prudence!

Quentin Queen vs Texas Hangman
Annoying as it may be, credit must be given to Quentin Queen for keeping his word by actually asking for a one-on-one match against Texas Hangman. The owner Ricky Dale Johnson welcomed the challenge with surprise, as it is rather unusual to find a volunteer to face “The Hangman.” The weasel blackheart is looking for a win to prove the value he believes he has, but will he be able to score a W against babyface Texas Hangman who is famously one of the toughest competitors in Lone Star Wrestling?

The Heartbreak Express (c) vs The Dynamite Express for the LSW Tag Team titles
It's an announced train wreck at Spurs and Stripes! Babyface champs Johnny Needham and Ralph Liotta are called upon for a new title defence against heelish Cam Jones and Syd Collier, as The Heartbreak Express will go full speed against The Dynamite Express. With the LSW Tag Team titles up for grabs, who will walk out with golds around their waists?

Cali Slick vs Shooter Sean Deeley
Tensions continue between Cali Slick and Vinny Cruz, as the weasel agent is continuing to tease Shooter Sean Deeley into becoming his client, while confidence in Cali Slick seems to be diminishing. Ricky Dale Johnson, as the cynical owner of Lone Star Wrestling, saw an opportunity to give the fans a very interesting bout, officializing Cali Slick vs Shooter Sean Deeley in a one-on-one match that could prove who really is the better one.

Kip Keenan (c) vs Al Coleman for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title
Dubbed by most “the best match in Lone Star Wrestling history,” Kip Keenan and Al Coleman clashed just a couple of months ago, and babyface champ came out with the LSW Texas Heavyweight title still around his waist. “Mr. Submission” came close, however, and immediately got back on track by defeating “Buzzsaw” Frankie Perez last month, overcoming one of the best talents on the indie scene, forcefully winning back a new title shot at LSW main championship. It will surely be a must-see match, but will Al Coleman be able to overturn the odds and truly end the historic reign of “The American Eagle” Kip Keenan?

marvelmalloy.png stormspillane.png   antoniodelveccio.png brutusmilano.png
The American Cobras (Malloy, Spillane) vs The Empire (Del Veccio, Milano)

In a bout that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, The American Cobras and The Empire collide in a opener that lasts around eleven minutes. Antonio Del Veccio and Brutus Milano take some heat by cooperate and isolate their opponents, but eventually The American Cobras strike fast and hard, and Marvel Malloy is able to pin Antonio Del Veccio to win the match. The American Cobras deliver The Empire their first loss in tag team action and candidate themselves to a new title shot soon. This bout gets the show off to a strong start. [67]

taheijikonoe.png   tavonblakejr.png
Taheiji Konoe vs Tavon Blake Jr

In a bout that has decent wrestling but doesn’t have much heat, “The Animal” Taheiji Konoe is able to unleash his ferocity despite his opponent’s attempt to outwrestle him technically, and in around seven minutes Tavon Blake Jr gets planted by a Savage Cradle DDT and the Japanese beast wins the match. [48] Adding insult to injury, after the bell Taheiji Konoe keeps assaulting Tavon Blake Jr, while his manager Duke Hazzard highlights the ferocity of “The Animal”. [42]

Prime Time Jack Pryde, accompanied by his valet Venus Angeletti, calls out The Most Wanted to talk about their partnership. Outlaw Wes Revell and Bandit Waylon Walls seem more reluctant to the idea of partnering again with Jack Pryde, whom they don't trust much, but today young Maverick Chip Martin takes over the reins of the faction - still without a specific leader - embracing Jack Pryde with whom he has had several tensions in the past and inviting him to join The Most Wanted! “The Maverick” also proposes a theme name to his “dear friend”; Cactus Jack Pryde! “Prime Time” smiles at Chip Martin and the two let loose in a big hug; CACTUS JACK PRYDE JUST JOINED THE MOST WANTED! Wes Revell and Waylon Walls don't seem thrilled, but they also don't object to his joining the group, with the focus shifting to David Stone! The Next gen babyface star walks out and goes back-and-forth with Jack Pryde and Chip Martin on the mic, then receiving a challenge; a tag team match for tonight, Cactus Jack Pryde and Maverick Chip Martin versus David Stone and a partner of his choice. [45]

daviswaynenewton.png dreadnought.png   southernstinger.png robreynolds.png
Davis Wayne Newton, Dreadnought vs Southern Stinger, Rob Reynolds

In a decent match, Davis Wayne Newton and Dreadnought wrestle as a tag team, with Laura Catherine Huggins cheering them up at ringside, against Brass Knuckles champ Southern Stinger and Rob Reynolds, who have a bad chemistry as a duo. “The Stinger” is kept strong despite the loss, as Davis Wayne Newton scores the W after eight minutes with a Fisherman’s Suplex on Rob Reynolds. [45]

quentinqueen.png   texashangman.png
Quentin Queen vs Texas Hangman

In a decent match, Quentin Queen and Texas Hangman go one-on-one and the storytelling of the bout is “Q-Man” trying to avoid Hangman’s physical superiority by relying on his brain and dirty tactics. After ten minutes, however, Texas Hangman gets some momentum going and pins Quentin Queen following a devastating Choke Slam. [55]

Cactus Jack Pryde and Maverick Chip Martin call out David Stone, as the boss Ricky Dale Johnson has given the okay for a two-on-two right here, right now! Will David Stone have found a partner in such a short time? The Next gen star walks out and, to his delight and that of the over 4,000 Kansas fans here in attendance, his partner is “Double J” Jared Johnson. [47]

primetimejackpryde.png maverickchipmartin.png   davidstone.png jaredjohnson.png
The Most Wanted (Pryde, Martin) vs David Stone, Jared Johnson

In a decent match, the babyfaces seem to be in control inside the squared circle, but after eight minutes interference from Bandit Waylon Walls and Outlaw Wes Revell leads to a tainted win by The Most Wanted, as Cactus Jack Pryde hits his PrydeFall on David Stone following a distraction and pins him after eight minutes. The debut of Cactus Jack Pryde as a member of The Most Wanted is successful, despite being a dirty one. [53]

In an in-ring promo, recently turned heel James Prudence reflects on what Kip Keenan asked following their Cage match; “Was it worthy”??? “The King of the Rodeo” improvises well throughout the segment, seeming at first almost regretful of his recent actions, but ending by confirming his heel turn by saying it was worthy! James Prudence makes plenty of excuses for his failures, shoots at Kip Keenan, the LSW fans, the referees, the management, all guilty except him, of course. “Platinum” will go it alone from now on, without the useless and apparent support of the fans who stabbed him in the back according to him. And he'll make it to the top of the division! [66]

calislick.png   shooterseandeeley.png
Cali Slick vs Shooter Sean Deeley

In a heel-versus-heel bout that has great wrestling and a decent reaction from the Kansas crowd, Cali Slick gives his all to proof he’s better than Shooter Sean Deeley, especially to send a message to his agent Vinny Cruz who recently tried to convince Shooter Sean Deeley into becoming his new client. After thirteen minutes, “The Shooter” traps “The Draw” in the Death’s Triangle, forcing him to tap out. Vinny Cruz and his security guard Big Smash Clay witness the entire bout at ringside. [56]

After the bell, Shooter Sean Deeley keeps applying pressure on Cali Slick's throat as he's about to blackout. Vinny Cruz gets in the ring alongside his security guard, but instead of trying to convince “The Shooter” to leave the hold, the weasel agent lets loose a wicked grin, before inviting Sean Deeley to continue! WHAT!!! That MF Vinny Cruz finally dumps Cali Slick, yelling at him about how he was his biggest failure and the worst client he ever had, a good-for-nothing fluke! Cali Slick blacks out and receives the attention of the medical staff, while Shooter Sean Deeley gets up and shakes Vinny Cruz's hand! “The Shooter” accepted the offer and agreed on having Vinny Cruz as his new agent! [47]

The Heartbreak Express (c) vs The Dynamite Express for the LSW Tag Team titles

The Heartbreak Express have been on a roll in 2022 here in Mid South and they have been the tag team of the year so far in Lone Star Wrestling, but despite this their opponents The Dynamite Express prove to be at their level and, generally speaking, prove to be an elite duo in this business. In a decent match, Cam Jones and Syd Collier indeed are able to overcome the champs, hitting Johnny Needham with their combined maneuver Chop and Change and scoring the W! In around ten minutes, The Dynamite Express send The Heartbreak Express off the rails to win the LSW Tag Team titles. [55]

In a short backstage angle, Carlos Gonzalez and Marco Gonzalez deliver an arrogant heelish promo admitting that the LSW tag team division is proving to be quite competitive, but that no one will be able to surpass the two Puerto Ricans in terms of aggressiveness and hunger for victory. [41]

lsw-texasheavyweight.png

kipkeenan.png   alcoleman.png
Kip Keenan (c) vs Al Coleman for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title

Aiming at building a spectacle, Al Coleman's night off compromises the overall performance and falls short of the level of their previous one-on-one. Despite this, “The American Eagle” and “Mr. Submission” have great chemistry and work a superb match. Reviewing their previous match, Al Coleman works mostly the champion's shoulders and right arm to weaken him and compromise his signature move. “Mr. Submission” also manages to lock his opponent in several submission holds, but the champ shows his resilience and continues to hold on. After nineteen minutes of solid action, “The American Eagle” manages to really fight with only one wing, but almost poetically Kip Keenan still manages to close the games by loading Al Coleman on his shoulders after a not inconsiderable physical effort: ONE-WINGED EAGLE! 1 .. 2 .. 3!! Kip Keenan defeats Al Coleman for the second time, making defense number eight of the LSW Texas Heavyweight title. [61]

The Ref hands Kip Keenan his LSW Texas Heavyweight title, “The American Eagle” seems ready to celebrate with fans in attendance, but suddenly a figure grabs him from behind: Tornado German Suplex! IT'S SEAN DEELEY! “The Shooter” blindsides the champ, hurriedly accompanied by his new agent Vinny Cruz, who urges him to send a clear message to the champ. Shooter Sean Deeley then traps Kip Keenan in his Death's Triangle until he passes out after an attempt to break free by the champion. A clear, very clear signal given by “The Shooter” and his agent Vinny Cruz, the goal is to conquer the top of Lone Star Wrestling and become the new Texas Heavyweight champion! [56]

2022 is almost in the books! Next event is gonna be LSW Desperados 2022 and it'll be the last show of the year ;) after that I'll have few days off to make some kind of recap.

KyTeran still has the lead on the Predictions Standings and could become the 2022 Champ! Still, probably four of you will reach 60+ points, thx for following this diary throughout these months!

What a great opening match. I wasn't expecting something like that from The Empire. They kind of blindsided the Main Event, though it was pretty solid. Kip vs Al Coleman always delivers something good. The Dynamite Express have climbed to the top very easily, we'll see if they can keep the titles for a long time or not. I think this version of The Most Wanted are miles away from the originals in terms of... everything? but on the other hand I like that you try to maintain a very successful act like The Most Wanted in LSW despite the original members leaving the company. I hope they just don't finish like last versions of NWO or similar cases.
