Why are all the upsets being suffered by me (Rosemary over Toni, Fenix over Christian...) :(

The Butcher beat Jay Lethal..... *crickets crickets crickets*

If that wasn't enough Mercedes Mone outperformed Tessa Blanchard 77 to 44.... *crickets crickets crickets*

Say what you want about Tessa being a terrible person but there are VERY few women in the United States that could outperform her, in real life.

Jamie Hayter & Kris Statlander to tame the Golden Lion

Adam Copeland vs MJF of The Peak of Perfection! Franchise Player vs Franchise Player! And I'll bet my @$$ that when “The Rated R Superstar” will have asphalted that spoiled brat, the mat will have a brand new Burberry texture!

PRE SHOW
Bullet Club Gold beat Dark Order in a trios match when Austin Gunn pinned Reynolds in 9:27 with a 3:10 to Yuma. 61

AEWDynamite.jpg.e69c4f15718c6031d6a27af3455590a7.jpg
DYNAMITE
Wednesday, week 1, April 2024
Walter's Pyramid, Long Beach, California (4,000 capacity)
Announcers: Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone

We start the show in the ring where Steve Austin is mega pissed off. He gets interrupted by The EVPs and Adam Page, who come down to the ring and stand across from Austin... before they start laughing at him. Austin gets even more pissed... the old him would have tried to stomp a mudhole in them before going down fighting... but this is an older Austin with a number of physical issues... so to get even he gets a mic and tells The Elite that they are going to have a trios match next week against a team picked by Steve Austin... and here they are...

The crowd go wild as not only does the very tough Eddie Kingston come to Steve Austin's side, so does the returning Kenny Omega and the shocking appearance of Drew Galloway. The Elite suddenly have their grins and laughter wiped from their faces and it's now Austin who has a broad smile... saying he can't wait until next week... and finishing by telling Adam Page it is one of these three men he will be facing at The Big Gamble... and that's the bottom line... because Steve Austin said so. 70
Galloway debuted with a Bad Ass gimmick, rated great.

ThunderRosa8.jpg.b9695d30ad520d9efaaeec241af5a26a.jpg v EmiSakura2.jpg.7c5527df3c99d5459e1a92be39eecc91.jpg
AEW LEAGUE
The Peak of Perfection (Thunder Rosa (with Konnan)) v The Spooky Club (Emi Sakura)

The women did a decent job of keeping an early excited crowd engaged in the action. Rosa was better in the match and duly chalked up another three points for the league leaders in 6:41 by pinfall with a Reverse DDT. 55
Rosa out performed Sakura 59-40
Rosa and Sakura have great chemistry.

Following a commercial for a Queen tribute action in Las Vegas, we go backstage... or rather two areas backstage as we see split screen. In one half, the male portion of Latin American Exchange are giving another beating to Don Callis Family, while in the other half the females in LAX are being led by Konnan and giving a beating to Hikaru Shida and Riho. Two brutal assaults and the new LAX certainly mean business and certainly aren't messing around. They have their crew, their crew is bigger and dishing out some serious beatings. 47 (average rating of two seperate segments in game)

AEW LEAGUE
Timeless Ensemble ('Freshly Squeezed' Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin (World Tag Team champion) & 'Absolute' Ricky Starks) v Team WooItsNathan (The Butcher, Kip Sabian (with Penelope Ford) & Bandido)

A straight forward win for Timeless Ensemble and their trio was impressive in the process. Team WooItsNathan never really got out of the gate in this and were outmatched. Starks got the win in 8:02, pinning Sabian with a Roshambo. 65
Cassidy benefitted from a hot new move.

Renee Paquette is in the backstage interview area with the debuting Jordynne Grace. Renee welcomes Grace to AEW... Grace thanks her and the former Impact Knockouts champion says she is in AEW because this is where the best wrestle and she wants to test herself against the best... she then gets interupted by Nyla Rose... the former Women's World champion tells Grace she's not even going to last this week and challenges her to a match on Collision... Grace tells the Native Beast to bring it on and squares up to her. 45
Jordynne Grace has debuted with a Thick Mama Pump gimmick, rated very good.

AdamCopeland.jpg.974497291936d75c34cc414dba54c8aa.jpg v BearBeefcake.jpg.6e88059aa19e23a9cdf77079b2089c6d.jpg
OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN'S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND
'Rated R Superstar' Adam Copeland v Boulder (with Jacked Jameson)

Copeland dominated his much bigger opponent and made short work of him, winning in 3:55 by pinfall with a Spear. 47
Copeland far out performed Boulder 69-40

Lexy Nair is backstage with The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society. Bryan Danielson says he's not happy with losing last week... Jon Moxley isn't happy that they only have one match again this week... Wheeler Yuta says they will put things right with a win on Collision. 64

RubySoho3.jpg.fa638f19c2bb254dba6d1c038ef6674a.jpgWillowNightingale7.jpg.c8545aeb982da9eb7683e3fb0e37c554.jpg v JamieHayter.jpg.d89ee1b41d680977aa31cb076471e263.jpgKrisStatlander20.jpg.eeeffd3f8d184f3e8856a80c8a5477f0.jpg
AEW LEAGUE
The Golden Lion Club (Ruby Soho (TBS champion) & Willow Nightingale) v Black Lotus (Jamie Hayter & Kris Statlander)

A decent match that went the way of the power pair as Black Lotus claimed the win when Hayter pinned Nightingale in 11:59 with a Curb Stomp. 56
Soho was really off her game.
Hayter and Statlander benefitted from public support.

Alex Marvez is backstage with Deonna Purrazzo, hoping for another scope. He gets one... as Purrazzo tells Marvez she is putting herself in The Big Gamble and she's willing to shave her hair to enter the match. Marvez looks shocked, Purrazzo looks part furious, part focused. 45

BrittBaker.jpg.604982f1e3508fccdf026e15f1f36a41.jpg v TayaValkyrie8.jpg.73586eb68ec4d9f1982e1ae6ef02c5bb.jpg
Dr Britt Baker D.M.D. (with Rebel & Jamie Hayter) v Taya Valkyrie (with Johnny TV)
Britt Baker is back in AEW after a long injury absence and she did show some signs of a long absence and this match was poor. Even so, she just about managed to get the job done against Valkyrie in 9:39 by submission with a Lock Jaw. 40
Baker and Valkyrie don't click at all.
Baker is in extremely poor form.

Backstage and the TNT champion Christian Cage is with Killswitch and Nick Wayne. He addresses his The Big Gamble challenger Adam Copeland and has some very derogatory comments about his children... finishing by saying he was a much better father as an uncle to Copeland's children than Copeland ever was. This was borderline disgraceful and very personal from Copeland. 74

Wardlow1.jpg.9f9dfb9e5ec4da8710872dcef95849dd.jpg v KonosukeTakeshita6.jpg.7fc107baa80a334724c2f7558e27ef4d.jpg
OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN'S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND
Wardlow v 'Alpha' Konosuke Takeshita (with Don Callis)

A battle of brawn v brawns, power v technique, a battle that stands the test of time. A decent match and this time brawn and power won as Wardlow advanced in 12:05 by pinfall with a Powerbomb Symphony. 58
Takeshita out performed Wardlow 62-50

Chris Jericho makes his way out to the ring. He sucks up to the Long Beach fans after they finish singing 'Judas'... but then expresses his annoyance that nobody has yet had the balls to step up to his open challenge for The Big Gamble... but then as he just starts to talk about he wasn't expecting the AEW locker room to be full of cowards, we get another huge surprise tonight...

Out walks former WWE Intercontinental and World Tag Team champion Sami Zayn! Jericho is as shocked as everyone else... though the crowd shock is soon overcome by loud cheers. Zayn is smiling as he climbs in the ring, gets a mic and says he's All Elite baby..! For once Jericho is speechless, as Zayn tells Jericho "You're on" and he leaves. Short, sweet and shocking... and Jericho has been shut up! 81
Zayn debuted with an Underground gimmick, rated very good.
Zayn benefitted from public support.

SamoaJoe9.jpg.78a8da6743c6ddac0feb0851c9638698.jpgSwerveStrickland(2).jpg.6187a15c5305ab7bc31a315081e7b5ce.jpg v BryanDanielson14.jpg.ef509d83a56d9e0bb3d294a1ec6b48d8.jpgMJF.jpg.fe3dd35ca04d6f311494e5fceec23e39.jpg
Samoa Joe (World champion) & Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) v 'American Dragon' Bryan Danielson & MJF
A superb match which promises much for fans eagerly awaiting The Big Gamble main event... as for tonight, surprisingly the two teams worked reasonably well together... then again they know what's at stake. All four men had their share of offence, all four men came close to getting a win, but ultimately time was the winner as the twenty minute time limit expired with no victory and had it gone to point, probably no victor there either. For once, fans were OK with a time limit draw, it seemed fair. 77 - match of the night

Wednesday, week 1, April 2024

Walter Pyramid, Long Beach, California (4,000 capacity)
Announce team: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Chris Jericho.

Backstage and Team Swerve are with Renee Paquette. She asks them about their League match against TV Network in tonight’s main event. Santana says this is their turf and they aren’t giving it up… Swerve Strickland says Swerve’s house is on Santana’s turf and they don’t welcome visitors… Samoa Joe says that anybody who shows up is going to get hurt. 72
Strickland benefitted from a hot catchphrase.

AR Fox v Gravity
A sub par match that had little interest from the crowd, Fox comfortably beat Gravity in 5:49 by pinfall with a 450 Splash. 37
Fox out performed Gravity 55-40
The crowd were turned off by a match between two workers they have no interest in.

Backstage and we see Willow Nightingale. She challenges Marina Shafir to a match on Rampage next week. 50

OWEN HART FOUNDATION WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND
Dr Britt Baker D.M.D. (with Rebel) v Red Velvet

A match that lacked in action though the crowd were into following Baker’s successful return on Dynamite. She advanced in the tournament in 8:27 by submission with the Lock Jaw. 40

Rebel did good work at ringside.~
Baker is in extremely poor form.

Renee Paquette is now with TV Network. She asks them for their response to Team Swerve’s comments earlier ahead of tonight’s main event… Matt Cardona says he’s ready for a fight and he’s not afraid of getting hurt… Jay Lethal says things will get lethal tonight… and Will Ospreay says he’s already beaten some of the best AEW has to offer, so facing the champion and one of The Big Gamble challengers holds no fear for him. 52

Big Bill (with Ricky Starks) v Keith Lee (with Dustin Rhodes)
A decent match where Lee got the win in 10:16 by pinfall with a Spirit Bomb. 59

AEW LEAGUE
Team Swerve (Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana), Samoa Joe (World champion) & Santana (with Konnan)) v TV Network (Matt Cardona, Will Ospreay & Jay Lethal (with Sonjay Dutt))

A decent match, one of the best on Rampage this year. TV Network were clinging on for quite a lot of the match, in fact they had Ospreay to thank for staying in it for so long. Ultimately they succumbed to Team Swerve in 13:47 when Strickland pinned Lethal with a Swerve Stomp. 65 – match of the night

Might be jumping the gun a bit, but am I able to swap in Drew for Adam Page?

Yes, though you only signed Page in this window. :D

I may have to introduce a rule for next season so a wrestler can't be signed in a window and then be released in the same window, unless they become unavailable.
