If that's how it's gonna work, I want to swap my least popular male (except if that's Orange because he's cooking) for Sami!

Yes, we're in the transfer/signing window so signings can happen at any time, for any reason, on a first come first served basis (based on the forum time of posts or private messages).
When the window closes, we revert back to changes only able to be made if a wrestler becomes unavailable.

I've taken the average popularity across USA.

Starks 54
Cage 59

So Sami Zayn has replaced Ricky Starks.

Yes, though you only signed Page in this window. :D

I may have to introduce a rule for next season so a wrestler can't be signed in a window and then be released in the same window, unless they become unavailable.

That's fair. It definitely seems a bit harsh I can do that, so a rule against it is fair

VERY IMPORTANT

Because of writing the shows in the game, I have paused in game on the morning of Collision, which will allow me to still make changes to that show to allow for new signings and selection changes.

The deadline to make any selection changes for Collision is 20:30 UK time 15:30 US East coast time on Monday 27 May. If that is missed, your teams stand as they are, even if the wrestler selected has left your team. This would then be their last appearance for your team prior to leaving.

Hope that makes sense.

Beautiful. Please keep Sami as Starks' replacement, and replace Christian with my original pick for the team in Omega! Sorry for the bother. Does the trios match from last time still stand with the original picks or must I switch them now?

PRE SHOW
Tessa Blanchard beat Anna Jay in 7:58 by submission with a Figure Four Leglock. 46

AEWSaturdayNight.jpg.54f801cb091c3ac485d78bc1cbd5d45d.jpg
COLLISION
Saturday, week 1, April 2024
Sam's Town, Las Vegas, Nevada (6,000 capacity)
Announcers: Kevin Kelly, Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone

Collision starts with the AEW World champion Samoa Joe in the ring with his The Big Gamble opponents Swerve Strickland, Bryan Danielson and MJF. Joe says that The Big Gamble tag team match on Dynamite only proved to everybody that nobody is good enough to beat your World champion... Swerve Strickland disagrees, saying he has come so close to winning the World Championship before, it will be his night at The Big Gamble... Bryan Danielson takes his turn, saying he knows he is good enough to beat everybody... before MJF gets his turn saying he is the longest reigning AEW World champion in history and "I'm better than you... and you know it" which sparks a frantic yet brief four way brawl as security and half the locker room rush to the ring to break it up. 83
Strickland benefitted from a hot catchphrase.

AEW LEAGUE
Team WooItsNathan (Kip Sabian (with Penelope Ford) & The Butcher) v Team Swerve (Samoa Joe (World champion) & Santana)

Samoa Joe stays in the ring for the opening action of the night, while Konnan is again working in Mexico so isn't at Santana's side. The match was decent but one sided, with Team Swerve converting dominance into victory in 6:41 when Santana submitted Sabian. 59

Tony Khan is seen with the four ladies in The Big Gamble match, Women's World champion Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter, Athena and Deonna Purrazzo. Khan says the women have agreed to no physicality while he announces that the men put on a great The Big Gamble tag team match on Dynamite this week, so next week the women have their turn to have their The Big Gamble tag team match on Dynamite. None of them look happy... Toni Storm even says that she won't be in the match if she has to team with Purrazzo... Purrazzo looks like she's ready to hit Storm before Khan announces that any women refusing to compete in the The Big Gamble tag team match forfeits their place in The Big Gamble match and also forfeits their wager... so if that's you Toni Storm you will forfeit the Women's World Championship... Storm storms off. In black and white. 51
Khan and Hayter benefitted from public support.

AEW LEAGUE
The Spooky Club ('Very Nice, Very Evil' Danhausen & 'The Icon' Sting (World Tag Team champion)) v The Golden Lion Club (Lucha Brothers, with Alex Abrahantes)

A good match, again one sided. The Lucha Brothers were outstanding. While The Big Gamble challengers faced one half of the World Tag Team champions here, come the pay per view when they face them both in the title match, the World Tag Team Championship will be under serious threat. Lucha Brothers took the win for The Golden Lion Club in 8:06 when Fénix pinned Danhausen with an Assisted Fear Factor. 74 - match of the night
Danhausen seemed off his game.
Danhausen benefitted from public support.

In the arena services area, Blackpool Combat Club's Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta are giving a brutal looking beatdown to the World Trios champions The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass. The fans inside the arena don't take kindly to it and voice their approval... and when the Blackpool Combat Club are satisfied with their work, Moxley stands over the fallen foes and tells them now they should take things seriously and now they know how tough The Big Gamble is going to be. 56

JordynneGrace5.jpg.07fbefacd9613c62f4ebc7e5f0a4cd50.jpg v NylaRose7.jpg.3afdfaba2b5d1461df96da8dedf41747.jpg
Jordynne Grace v 'Native Beast' Nyla Rose (with Marina Shafir)
This was a hard hitting contest between two power house women. Grace was making her in ring AEW debut and the match between her and the former Women's World champion was decent. Through the match, Grace was attempting body slams on Rose and after three earlier failed attempts, on the fourth try she did it and Rose hit the mat with a thud. This led to the finish in 9:52 when Grace won by pinfall with a Fall From Grace. Has Timeless Ensemble taken a risk and pulled off a master stroke in signing Grace for their AEW League team? Time(less) will tell... 58
Grace out performed Rose 58-48
Grace is improving at her gimmick.

We now have Lexy Nair with her bi weekly AEW League report and tonight she is with TV Network. Johnny TV doesn't really focus on the league, he's more bothered that they all look like stars, especially he and his wife Taya Valkyrie... Will Ospreay takes exception to this, saying their league performance (7th place) is woeful and when some of the team don't seem to be taking it seriously, it's no surprise bruv. 48

Latin American X-Change (with Santana, Sammy Guevara, Dralistico, Mercedes Martinez, Thunder Rosa & Diamanté) v Best Friends & Colt Cabana (with Orange Cassidy & Danhausen)
This was chaotic at ringside as there were more people at ringside than in it, even if you include referee Paul Turner. Colt Cabana became an honourary Best Friend for the night with Orange Cassidy and Danhausen both in other matches and Rocky Romero working in Mexico. With everybody outside there were a lot of distractions and sometimes it was hard to concentrate on what was actually happening inside though amongst it all there was a decent match. Numbers sure helped here and LAX got the duke in 9:15 when Vikingo pinned Taylor with a 630 Senton. 59

Jim Ross conducts a pre recorded sit down interview between the World Tag Team champions Darby Allin and Sting and their The Big Gamble challengers The Lucha Brothers, accompanied by Alex Abrahantes. With it being pre recorded it was taped before the AEW League match earlier in the night... Both champions and challengers talk about their respect for each other... before Abrahantes finishes proceedings by saying there is nobody hotter in AEW right now than the Lucha Brothers and in a couple of weeks they will become the AEW World Tag Team champions for the second time. 70

BuddyMatthews.jpg.fb1d1889ceedc4426d2b2b5389a09b4a.jpg v RickyStarks3.jpg.4eaf6ab9410dd67f6b235f5590357276.jpg
Buddy Matthews (with Malakai Black, Brody King & Julia Hart) v 'Absolute' Ricky Starks (with Big Bill)
A decent match and one that Starks had gained control off. He was setting up to finish Matthews off with a Roshambo, only for Brody King to climb in the ring, which promted Big Bill to get in as well. This of course led to the two tag teams fighting each other, which meant that referee PauL Turner had to throw the match out for a double disqualification in 10:47. "Let them fight" chants rang up as security and AEW official came down to seperate the teams. 62
Starks out performed Matthews 66-52

Adam Copeland is in the basement of the arena. He looks part psychotic and he has a long case in front of him... He has a glare at the camera as he speaks... he says that Christian Cage has gone way too far with what he said on Dynamite and the only way to get retribution is by getting violent... extremely violent... he opens the case and pulls out a black painted 2x4 with nails protruding out of it... "Meet Spike" says Copeland... before telling Cage that as he got personal about his kids on Dynamite, he will now get personal with Spike. 69

AEW LEAGUE
Timeless Ensemble ('Freshly Squeezed' Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin (World Tag Team champion) & 'Best Bout Machine' Kenny Omega) v The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society ('American Dragon' Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta)

A great trios match on paper and it didn't disappoint with some great action. It's a much changed Timeless Ensemble from the start of the season yet they were effective against the slick, hard hitting yet also technical BDAS. It was also notable for the in ring return of Kenny Omega following his absence due to diverticulitis. Yet another notable thing was for some reason, Steve Austin was on commentary for this match. The match could have gone either way, but Cassidy pulled out a win in 11:52 when he pinned Yuta with a Beach Break. 68
Yuta performed worse than everyone else (61, next worst Allin 74)
Cassidy benefitted from a hot new move.

Jake 'The Snake' Roberts and Jack 'Anaconda' Perry are seeing standing outside a locker room marked Undisputed Kingdom. Jake has a very evil smirk on his face and both hold bulging sacks... a familiar looking sack that Roberts almost always used to carry round... Jake says that snakes have only been banned from The Big Gamble, they haven't been banned yet... so Perry opens the door without knocking and both men tip open the bags... and around a dozen, possibly more, snakes all slither their way into the locker room. Perry shuts the door as soon as they are all in and screams of terror are heard from inside... Wardlow bursts out of the look room, a look of pure anger on his face but Jake and Jack have already gone... then he starts to literally throw snakes out of the locker room. 54
No snakes were harmed in the filming of this segment.

MJF14.jpg.e88e780b6d42c9a4e351bdb7d7f17957.jpg v AdamCopeland.jpg.e28f170dd4322300e8f64dc615f88874.jpg
AEW LEAGUE
The Peak of Perfection (MJF) v Black Lotus ('Rated R Superstar' Adam Copeland)

A good match but one where the crowd probably inflated the match rather than the other way round. Both men refused to give an inch as the match tooed and froed and while both men came close, neither could close out the match. Edge then hit the Spear, only for the bell to ring to signal a twenty minute time limit draw. 69

AEW LEAGUE
Team Swerve ('CEO' Mercedes Moné & Rosemary) v Team WooItsNathan (Anna Jay & Diamanté (with Konnan))

A decent opener to a stacked card and one where Moné was a class above. Her superiority led her team to three points in 5:46 though it was Rosemary who scorred the pin on Jay with a Red Wedding. 58
Moné far out performed everybody else (70, next best Rosemary 47)
Diamanté seemed off her game.
Rosemary is getting better at her gimmick.

Earlier today is seen in the bottom corner of the screen as we see a Smoking Skull black pick up arrive at the arena. No surprise that Steve Austin gets out and he is met by his trio tonight of the returned Kenny Omega, the fiery Eddie Kingston and new acquisition Drew Galloway. They exchange fist bumps but they are then met by over a dozen arena security staff and behind them stand Adam Page and the EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jackson... The EVPs disinengiously welcome their foes to the Buffalo RiverWorks where they say they have arranged a private locker room for them to prepare for such a big night tonight... and security will escort them there. None of the group are stupid, they know it's bull shit and Steve Austin says so... but the EVPs insist... or else they will be banned from the arena tonight... and just then two police squad cars arrive on the scene to provide further back up... Outnumbered about twenty to four, Austin, Omega, Kingston and Galloway have no choice but to go to their 'special' locker room... cameras follow and sure enough it's in the basement with only a table and four steel chairs to give them any comfort and a curtain on a rail to give them 'privacy'. The group immediately trash the place once security and police have left. 68

ElHijodelVikingo(3).jpg.39aa7be027f69fd5bdf79731d85ba89f.jpg v NickWayne.jpg.4adde55c53e6fc2f232f031af65b67e2.jpg
OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN'S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND
El Hijo del Vikingo (with Konnan) v Nick Wayne

A really good match between two quick athletes. Vikingo advanced in 6:45 by pinfall with a 630 Senton. 64
Vikingo out performed Wayne 65-55

As soon as the match finishes, cameras cut backstage to Christian Cage sneaking into Adam Copeland's locker room, followed by Killswitch. He sees the box labelled Spike on the floor and goes to it... He pauses, perhaps thinking about opening it... then instead goes to pick it up when Adam Copeland appears and Cage looks like he has seen a ghost... and Copeland is not alone as Daniel Garcia and Matt Menard are with him so numbers aren't a factor... Cage quickly makes his exit, as if he is afraid of what Copeland might do... Killswitch glares at Copeland, Garcia and Menard as he follows Cage out. 69

AEW LEAGUE
The Spooky Club ('The Icon' Sting (World Tag Team champion) & 'One in a Billion' Satnam Singh (with Sonjay Dutt)) v TV Network ('Aerial Assassin' Will Ospreay & Matt Cardona)

Not the best match, and The Spooky Club's cause was not helped by Sting and Singh having zero chemistry and ending up working poorly tonight. This led to an easy win for TV Network in 6:49 when Cardona pinned the giant Singh. 52
Ospreay performed better than everybody else (65, next best Cardona 55)
Singh performed far worse than everybody else (21, next worst Sting 41)
Cardona is improving at his gimmick.

Alex Marvez is backstage with Lucha Brothers and Alex Abrahantes. They talk about The Big Gamble, where Lucha Brothers will challenge Darby Allin and Sting for the World Tag Team Championship... Alex talks about the respect they have for Sting and everything he has done in his career... and the respect they have for Darby Allin and everything he has done in AEW... but when the bell rings at The Big Gamble it will be all business and on that Sunday night there will be new AEW World Tag Team champions. 46

YukaSakazaki.jpg.cbe4325eb42d4b81a022515fc8d568e2.jpg v KrisStatlander20.jpg.ecafbfa25918021157066837f2538df6.jpg
OWEN HART FOUNDATION WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND
Yuka Sakazaki v Kris Statlander

A really good match and one where Sakazaki performed above most people's expectations. Despite her impressive showing, she came up short though as Statlander prevailed in 7:16 by pinfall with a Big Bang Theory. 60
Sakazaki out performed Statlander 63-53
Statlander benefitted from public support.

Lexy Nair is backstage with Black Lotus, minus Kris Statlander who is in the ring celebrating her win. To nobody's surprise she asks them their thoughts on the AEW League season so far. Adam Copeland says it's going OK... 4th place and more wins than losses is OK in a very competitive league... Jamie Hayter says she is happy with how she has performed since her return from injury... Dustin Rhodes says they have a great mix of styles, youth and experience... Konosuke Takeshita stares somewhat blankly at the camera... Skye Blue flutters her lashes and pushes out her chest... and Miro stands there looking like he wants to hurt anyone who crosses him. 60

Latin American X-Change (with Konnan, Sammy Guervara, El Hijo del Vikingo & Dralistico) v FTR & Mark Briscoe
A good, hard hitting match, LAX have been riding a wave of momentum since Konnan both reformed the group and expanded them in one fell swoop back at Revolution. They continued this when they just about got the better of their opponents in 9:50 when Rush pinned Briscoe with a Rush Driver. 64
Briscoe benefitted from public support.
Rush has completed his face turn, a complete success.

Renee Paquette is seen with the World Tag Team champions, Darby Allin and Sting. Darby says he heard what Alex Abrahantes said earlier and he's glad he has their respect, but it's not going to change the Darby Allin that shows up at The Big Gamble... it will be the same Darby Allin that gives everything and puts everything on the line... Sting says he is glad he has their respect, he has a lot of respect for Lucha Brothers, they are a great tag team... but come The Big Gamble it's show time... and when it's show time that when Sting is at his best... and his most dangerous. 67

THE BIG GAMBLE TAG TEAM MATCH
'Timeless' Toni Storm (Women's World champion, with Luther & Mariah May) & Athena (Ring of Honor Women's World champion) v 'The Virtuosa' Deonna Purrazzo & Jamie Hayter

A decent match and one where all four women showcased their skills really well and one where all four women seemed evenly matched, which bodes for a very intriguing four way title match at The Big Gamble. Tonight though, Storm just about edged the victory in 10:39 when she pinned Hayter with a Storm Zero, though the match up until then could easily have gone either way. 65
Athena benefitted from being in amazing form.
Hayter benefitted from public support.

Renee Paquette is backstage, now with Jordynne Grace. Renee says Grace picked up an impressive debut win last week against former Women's World champion Nyla Rose... Grace says she is delighted with her debut and to beat a former champion is the best start she could have... and then Saraya and Harley Cameron appear... Saraya says she too is a former Women's World champion and she will have no trouble beating Jordynne Grace and challenges her to a match next week... Grace accepts and gets in Saraya's face... who tells her to back off, she only wanted a match... Saraya leaves and Grace asks Renee if you always get interrupted in AEW... Renee says it does happen quite a lot. 56

The EVPs & 'Hangman' Adam Page v 'Best Bout Machine' Kenny Omega, 'The Mad King' Eddie Kingston & Drew Galloway (with Steve Austin)
A good, intense match and new signing Galloway made an impressive in ring debut. Steve Austin's trio got cheated out of the win though in 10:58 when Page pinned Kingston by illegally using the ropes for leverage. A fuming Kingston got straight up and started to swing wildly at Page, who was already retreating and as Steve Austin grabbed a chair, The EVPs and Page made a hasty exit back up the ramp as Austin was cursing and giving them the middle finger in the ring as Omega, Kingston and Galloway also look pissed off beside him. 71
Page turned heel, a complete success.

Following a commercial break for Burberry, MJF is in the ring with Swerve Strickland. The two start verbal sparring about The Big Gamble... Swerve saying the World Championship is coming to Swerve's House... MJF saying he is the longest reigning AEW World champion and he's getting his title back... as he is better than you and you know it... Samoa Joe meanwhile has made his way out and is watching proceedings from the stage, with a smile on his face... Once MJF and Strickland have stopped their verbal duel, they spot Joe... Joe holds up the World Championship belt, saying it's his and noone will take it from him. 73
Strickland benefitted from a hot catchphrase.

AEW LEAGUE
The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society ('American Dragon' Bryan Danielson) v The Golden Lion Club (Rey Fénix (with Alex Abrahantes))

A match between arguably the best technical wrestler in AEW and arguably the best high flyer in AEW. It was hotly anticipated and promised much...
It delivered. The action was superb with Danielson's technical wrestling and Fénix's high flying proving a great and very good contest and one where both performers delivered a top notch performance. It was a shame there was a loser, with Danielson getting the win in 13:31 by pinfall with a Busaiko Knee. Rey's big day will surely come. It's a matter of when and not if. 80 - match of the night
Danielson's performance 82, Fénix 81
