You literally just have to specify that you want the image “isolated against a solid white/black/magenta background” as part of the prompt. Better yet, weight that part of the prompt “::5”. save them all like that into a folder and create a batch process in photoshop that simply removes the background and saves them as PNG or GIF into a new folder. Or feed that initial folder into something like remove.bg. No reason others can’t follow the same process.

Heinzreich
I posted this on the 2020 AI thread but I may as well post it here too. Alright y'all I need some opinions on how to proceed with how I make portraits for the TEW IX. So for example, here is the portrait I made for Remmy Skye for TEW 2020 and next to it is GDS' Aaron Andrews JPG and GIF portraits in TEW IX. Not only is there a difference in style with TEW IX's more realistic aesthetic compared to the digital 3D render style I use, but the placement is different too. So here's the question: should I just refit all of my portraits to the new format? A small few wouldn't exactly line up with the others as some of the older portraits I made such as Remmy here, I don't have the original PNGs for anymore. Or do I gen up new ones matching the new realistic style with matching-ish placement, OR the new realistic style with the placement I normally use? I think the new GIF portraits are good but a little too zoomed out and it's especially noteworthy on the GIFs, which is why I bring up the latter option. Bing and ChatGPT are a little problematic with more realistic character generations so it's not going to look like a picture of someone like they do in the game, but I wouldn't mind it honestly. New style, matching-ish placement New style, my own placement I don't know if anyone else is as crazy about this as I am but oh well lol. If anyone has tips to more closely match the new portraits too, I'd love to hear 'em.

If the eyes of each character line up, they’ll look more uniform.

I would say do what you want to do, place it where you want, but post the original image too so we can all place where we prefer? Also, I'll be using the new style because I'm awful at making my own, so I'd personally prefer new style. Based on what you decide, if you going to stick with your original portraits, then switching them to the new background gets my vote. (I might be in the minority here, but I think the CV Blue is what is in need of a change.) If its new style, then I prefer your placement. Yeah, I use other portraits as the guideline and just make 'em transparent so I can line up the chin, ears, eyes, etc. With some generations though, the head cuts off like the case with that new one. Where the head cuts off at the top of the portrait I made up is where the head cut off in the original image Bing generated. 2 hours ago, The Lloyd said: I LOVE that Remmy Skye New Style... Quote That portrait is pretty much the full image, but here's the whole thing. I didn't cut anything off. I like this more realistic style too, but it's a bit too.. glossy? The GDS portraits are more candid and don't have as much of a shine, which is what I'm trying to mimic but Bing seems incapable of that, at least from the prompts I'm trying. But I've also tried my hand at Aldous Blackfriar because his portrait frankly is one of the really bad ones with the new style. One thing I have noticed though, is that I think I need to stop giving people tattoos lol. I'm tatted up myself and they can add so much character. Quote Like here's the baseline I used for these as well as that Remmy: "realistic real, well-lit face & facing camera, white lighting & black background." 33 minutes ago, Peria said: I haven't even started out of indecisiveness so I get it. Yeah, I'm probably gonna wait a bit and see what others do, but atm I'm probably leaning more towards the blue CV background, that way I won't really need to convert my already made images. That, and WalterSobchak is using the blue CV and I'm inevitably gonna be using his stuff too and I wanna make sure my stuff fits lol @EdJamesWhat program are you using to achieve that look? I don't think Bing's capable of it. I've seen others say Midjourney, but I'm not sure. I'm not averse to spending money. What sort of generative AI does Photoshop have? I'm not familiar with it. Does it generate characters, or is it more for putting glasses on a character, or changing the outfit or whatever? As I told @Stennick earlier today… CV Blue… Then, Now, Forever. 😎 That said, I will continue to post my PNGs temporarily while I’m working through a promotion and then will include them in the finished pack/database so folks can put them on any color they see fit. @Heinzreich as you pointed out, I’d like to use the vast majority of my 2020 renders and they are on blue. I have all my PNGs too though, so anyone could easily be moved to a new background if someone was interested in doing so.
moafnsteel
I have not messed around with putting images to backgrounds since TEW 2016. I actually prefer the black background, but am loving the new renders (both realistic and more cartoony ones). How do I make the images on the black background that are gif? Thanks
Stennick
@WalterSobchakAnd I couldn't agree more. That CV blue makes renders pop in a way I haven't seen other backgrounds do. I love you posting the PNG's just in case I want to slightly vary how they sit on the background. To think the previous thread was just about 18 months old. So we've only been doing these the last 18 months. I can't wait to see what we come up with in the next year or two.
SanX
I just want to know what version of renders community is adopting overall (read majority), are we going with the newer realistic route or the 3d fantasy route? Stennick
Me personally I'm sticking with the previous route. I prefer that route. But I can see how others might enjoy the new art style as well. I suspect you'll see picture packs with both art styles which I think is awesome.

I liked the two I did to test the new realistic style so who knows, maybe I'll go back and forth. I like the stuff that EdJames is doing though, and that's the main reason that I'm conflicted between the two lol

Thanks Sorry for the double post but I just saw this. I believe the gifs use the same dimensions as the SAMMP picture packs for the real world mods. So a 103x103 box in the middle of a 150×150 box. The 103 is the actual portrait, the rest should be left transparent and then save as a gif. I'd demonstrate visually but I'm away from my computer rn.

Midjourney and a LOT of Photoshop in the original Gen 1 renders which were honestly excruciating to create. You could get a perfect face, but the hair would be slightly wrong and you couldn’t target any one thing. It was crap at facial hair and it’s still a bit sketchy on masks, which you tend to have to hand draw in Photoshop (see Magnifico).
