December 2006: “The Boston Bomber” forms new promotion Charles Davison, better known as “The Boston Bomber” has formed a new wrestling promotion called Boston Championship Wrestling. Some of you might have heard about him as he is a 3-time Boston Champion. After the promotion, Championship Wrestling from Boston closed its doors, The Bomber took his life in the wrong direction and started taking drugs. He had to retire by the age of 33 in 1985. 20 years later he finally got his life back on track and started thinking again about some kind of career in the wrestling industry. He wanted to work as a road agent or as a color commentator, but his reputation of being a former drugs user worked against him. Now, seeing that Rip Chord has a bit of success bringing the territories back alive he decided to give it a try himself and founded Boston Championship Wrestling. Due to legal issues he couldn’t use the name Championship Wrestling from Boston. He wants to take the Boston wrestling scene back to its former glory. It’s going to be long and bumpy ride though as he doesn’t have lots of money. His head booker is a guy he met in rehab. His name is Marty Chuana and according to The Bomber he knows more about booking wrestling shows than anyone else on the planet himself. The Bomber let know that his shows will be loved by every type of fan, whether you’re a hardcore fan, lucha libre fan or like old school brawling, you’ll find what you're looking for in BCW. It’s a mix of many styles in a traditional environment. He announced that the first show, BCW: Boston Wrestling Revolution, will take place on Wednesday, the third week of January. Feel free to hop in. You can also watch it on the internet, www.bostonwrestling.com.
Interesting mix of styles... I think you may have problems with traditional as key AND modern as medium. (Not that I actually have a clue, to be fair.)
Hmm... you could be right. This is what's in the help files about the styles:
Traditional is the old-school style where wrestling is quite slow paced and finishers tend to finish a match instantly.Modern is the latter day style of mixing fast-paced athletic moves with gymnastic jaw-dropping aerial spots.
What I hope to achieve is shows with slow-paced old school brawls on the card and with some fast paced (X-division like) matches. I hope it's possible. I can still alter it in-game of course if it isn't working...

(Yes, I completely screwed up my created fed's product yesterday and ended up having to give up on a game after spending an hour doing gimmick changes and stuff!)

Wednesday, week 3, January vs Lucha Libre showcase: Ángel De México vs. Tempest Appleby A pretty decent, but short, opener to give the crowd a feel of what they’re going to see tonight. Angel De Mexico showed some nice luchadore moves, but still left room open for Tempest to show some of his skills. All-in-all an easy victory for the masked Mexican. Winner: Ángel De México Rating: D The masked luchador poses a bit for the crowd and leaves the ring. Rating: F+
Dazzling Dave Diamond: “Hello Boston! Or at least a very small part of it. In the next match we get to fight for a spot in the title match next event. It’s actually the first time in my short career that I’m in such an important match. I definitely won’t let this chance slip away. Are you with me?!” Rating: D- vs[IMG]http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i232/tRyPi0/BCW/DazzlingDaveDiamond.gif[/IMG]vs Winner gets to fight for BCW Championship: Cal Sanders vs. Dazzling Dave Diamond vs. K-Squared Dazzling Dave had to fight two quicker and more technical wrestlers. They sure as hell didn’t make it easy for him. Winner: Dazzling Dave Diamond Rating: D Dazzling Dave Diamond thanks the fans for their support. Rating: F+
vsvs Winner gets to fight for BCW Championship: Kashmir Singh vs. Primal Rage vs. Roderick Remus A pretty good match. The two lighter wrestlers teamed up in the beginning of the match to wear Primal Rage down. Remus took the opportunity to grab the victory with a roll-up from Singh while Primal Rage was down and out. Winner: Roderick Remus Rating: D
vs Puroreso Main Event Match: Burning EXILE vs. Dog Fyte There are only a handful of Americans that can wrestle the Puroreso style, and Dog Fyte is one of them. He even proved to be better than the man from Japan. EXILE obviously wasn’t happy with that. Winner: Dog Fyte Rating: C-
Burning EXILE: “NEXT EVENT! You! Me! Hardcore match!” Rating: F Attendance: 15 Final Rating: D-

Personal thoughts: Pretty decent opening show in my opinion. It's strang though that no match was under D rating and the final rating is only D-. Happy that I chose the right match in the main event as I was first considering to let the tournament main event the show.

Very nice first show and I agree with Ship on the angle thing. Dog Fyte for Champion and I see a series of one up matches getting more and more dangerous. First Hardcore, then last man standing, then first blood, then Burning Exile takes it back to a Japanese Style Barbed Wire Match and then finally they get locked in to a steel cage and the whoile crowd chants "Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves."
Yay for C-Verse diaries!
Indeed! I don't think BCW's promotion product is the least bit contradictory, personally. Look at several of the promotions in the Cornellverse. 5SSW has both Traditional and Modern as key features and they play fine. I think what may pose more problems is trying to be all things to all people. But having a varied product that everyone can get into may mitigate that. Great start and I'm guessing BCW's popularity is at F now, after one show? Not a bad haul, if that's the case. :)

Definitely a solid first show. Burning EXILE always gets snatched up and becomes the PGHW booker on about Day 3 in my games, so I'm impressed you got him to come in and work for you. Looking forward to more, especially since I'm from Rhode Island (lil' Boston). Any chance we're gonna see some "Southie Street Fights" in the future?

In fact on the last day of the month for my demo I sent a request to him.
