Many thanks to the best in the business. And man ole man have we got a great show lined up for you this evening." Gene "That's right Gordon, tonight you will see the very best that the NWA has to offer. The Road Warriors, Anderson and Hansen, Steamboat and Youngblood, Slaughter, Rhodes, Flair, Slater, and many more!" Gordon "Tonight we have some guest appearances from The Masked Superstar, The Junkyard Dog, and Bruiser Brody. In fact Bruiser Brody will get a terrific opportunity as he receives a coveted shot at the NWA World Hwt Title as he will face Harley Race in the main event tonight. Should be a good one, you don't want to miss it!" _________________________________________________________________ http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/MikeRotundo-1.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/ButchReed.jpg Mike Rotundo v Butch Reed Good match to start the show. Reed on loan from HCW taking on one of our young stars. Pretty even match throughout. In the end the veteran Reed gains the advantage and hits a flying shoulder block and covers for the pin at the 3:46 mark. Road Agent Notes> Interesting challenge for Rotundo. Unfortunately the two of them didn't click which made for an awkward bout. Thought they did a good job in pulling off a good opening match nonetheless. _________________________________________________________________ Interview with Steve Williams. "I'm here to make a name for myself in the NWA, and it continues tonight with Condrey. I hope you came ready to fight, cause I know I did." _________________________________________________________________ http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/SteveWilliams.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/DennisCondrey.jpg Steve Williams v Dennis Condrey Good match. These two went at it pretty good. With the larger and tougher Williams finally getting the upper hand. Wham, Oklahoma Stampede, cover, pin at the 2:56 mark. Road Agent Notes> Williams has a way to go on the mic, but his in ring work is worth the effort that it will take to get him there. He looked to be improving in the rumble segments with the veteran Condrey. Whom I'd love to have in the fold, but I still need to clear some room off the roster before I bring anymore on. _________________________________________________________________ Interview with Paul Ellering and the Road Warriors. Paul "What do you have to do to get somebody's attention around here? How many more teams do we have to beat before we get a chance at the National Titles?" Animal "They're just ducking us Paul, those old geezers know that they can't handle us!" Paul "Haha, I think you're right." Hawk "WHATTAAAAA RUSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" _________________________________________________________________ http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/RoadWarriorAnimal-1.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/RoadWarriorHawk-1.jpg w/http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/PaulEllering3.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/IvanKoloff-1.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/NikitaKoloff-1.jpg The Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering v The Koloffs Ouch, this match wasn't as good as I would have liked. But onward. Animal defeated Nikita with a flying shoulder tackle at the 3:48 mark. Road Agent Notes> The interview was one thing, but the match wasn't very good. I honestly expected better pitting the Warriors against the Koloffs. Oh well. Ivan came out looking good in the match. _________________________________________________________________ http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/MaskedSuperstar.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/ArnAnderson2.jpg The Masked Superstar v Marty Lunde Good match pitting two of HCW's stars against each other. These two put on a good show which saw Masked Superstar getting the pin after a Superstar neck breaker at the 4:08 mark. Road Agent Notes> Surprisingly these two didn't click. Hehe, who's side is Paul on anyway? lol Despite the chemistry issues and the awkward bout that ensued, I was pleased with it as it was received well by the crowd. Lunde's performance is improving. I may have to see about signing him. _________________________________________________________________ Interview with Ole Anderson and Stan Hansen. Ole "Hmm? Seems we have a couple of kids that want to come into the yard and kick things around a little, huh Stan?" Stan "Dadnabit, damn youngins these days, no damn respect what so ever. Hehe. Better be careful boys, don't venture to close to the porch, ya hear?" Ole "Or else you may just get exactly what you think you want." _________________________________________________________________ For the National Tag Team Titles http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/GCW_Tag.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/OleAnderson2-1.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/StanHansen.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/GCW_Tag.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/USTagTeam.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/AssassinMask2.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/AssassinMask3.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/USTagTeam.jpg w/http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/PaulJones2-1.jpg Ole Anderson and Stan Hansen National Tag Team Champs v The Assassins w/ Paul Jones Good match pitting two teams of tag champs. Open match, decided by the most inexperienced one in the ring as the National Champs retain when Hansen almost unmasked Assassin #2 with a vicious lariat and the pin at the 3:51 mark. Road Agent Notes> The Tag Champs looked good in the interview. Crowd was really into it. Jones did a great job at ringside. Stan looked excellent out there. These teams played off each other very well. There was one exchange between Hansen and The Assassin that showed Stan's improvement in technical skills. Overall the Assassin delivered an improved performance. _________________________________________________________________ Interview with Sgt. Slaughter. He comes out to a chorus of boos. "Shut up maggots. Show the proper respect. Shut up! I see they have booked us here in another dump. Houston, Texas huh? You there ain't but two things that come from Texas? Yeah, that's right. And I don't see any horns on most of you. Ah shut up!" ________________________________________________________________ For the United States Hwt Title http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/SgtSlaughter.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/UnitedStatesHvy-1.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/MrOlympia2.jpg Sgt. Slaughter United States Hwt Champion v Mr. Olympia Decent match. Sarge controlled most of the action. Almost toying with the masked man, until finally clothesline. Cobra clutch, submission at the 5:50 mark to retain the Title. Road Agent Notes> Slaughter looked good out there. The crowd really hates him. I continue to be impressed by Jerry. He does whatever is asked of him and never complains. _________________________________________________________________ Interview with Junkyard Dog and Mr. Wrestling 2. MW2 "Well Dog, we get a great opportunity here tonight. We get a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Titles. I have the utmost respect for Ricky and Jay, but that gold would look good right here around our waists." Dog "That it would 2, that it would. I expect a great match here. Friends or not, I'm giving it my all. RUFF, RUFF!"_________________________________________________________________ Interview with Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood. Jay "Wow, Ricky, the challenges just keep getting more difficult for us. Looks like a great match for the fans to enjoy." Ricky "You have to expect that when you sit on top of the mountain like we do Jay. I'm up for it. Let's go get them." _________________________________________________________________ For the NWA World Tag Team Titles http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/NWAWorldTagTeam.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/RickySteamboat-1.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/JayYoungblood-1.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/NWAWorldTagTeam.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/JunkyardDog2.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/MrWrestlingII.jpg Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood NWA World Tag Champs v Junkyard Dog and Mr. Wrestling 2 Good match, just not as good as I was expecting. Great display of wrestling. Nice and clean. Steamboat with a flying body press at the 6:35 mark for the pin to retain the Titles. Road Agent Notes> Both interview segments went over well. The star of the match was JYD. His great performance really stood out. The performance of MW2 also stood out as being good. Both Jay and MW2 showed improved performance skills. JYD is improving in technical aspects. _________________________________________________________________ Interview with Dusty Rhodes. "Adrian Adonis, I see where we are against each other tonight. That's cool. I'm back in my home state of Texas and I'm looking to put an old fashion butt whooping on you." _________________________________________________________________ http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/DustyRhodes.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/AWA/AdrianAdonis.jpg Dusty Rhodes v Adrain Adonis An excellent match. Verne let us use Adonis and he and Dusty hit gold. Back and forth, very even. Crowd was really into this one. Adonis with the pin following a DDT at the 13:59 mark. Road Agent Notes> Dusty was great on the mic as usual. This match lifted the crowd. These two put on a great show. Dusty wasn't happy giving the rub to Adrian, but he'll get over it. _________________________________________________________________ Interview with Ric Flair. "Gordon, we're here in Houston, Texas. WOOOOOOOOOOOO!! And tonight I get that scum bag Dick Slater. Slater, I don't know how many times I have to whoop your a**, before I get a shot at winning my World title back, but I whip it as many times as it takes Pal. Because I am the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair. The limousine riding, jet plane flying son of a gun. I kiss all the girls and made em cry. I am Space Mountain, may not be the newest ride in the park, but I'm the one with longest line. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Race, I'm talking to you now you no good son of a bitch. I don't care who you stick up in front of me, I'll mow them all down. I want you at Clash of the Champions at the end of the month. You and me and my title. WOOOOOOOOOOO!! All night long. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" _________________________________________________________________ http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/RicFlair2-1.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/DickSlater.jpg Ric Flair v Dick Slater Excellent. These two put on an excellent exhibition of wrestling. Back and forth. Slater using every underhanded trick in the book, Flair countering it with move after move. Finally Flair gained the advantage. Couple of elbows to the inside of the leg. Vertical suplex. Figure four. Submission at the 19:33 mark. Road Agent Notes> Flair came across well in his promo. The match was great. Best match on the card. It lifted the crowd. They love Flair and hate Slater. _________________________________________________________________ Interview with Harley Race. "Flair, I think you must be hard of hearing. I told you I called the shots. So as far as your challenge for me at the Clash. No deal. That is where you will either pass, or more likely fail your first challenge. You will face Slater in a Bunkhouse match. If you win then you will advance to the next challenge. If you lose then you are done. No more title shot. And I can move on to more important business. Like tonight, Brody, I'm going to teach you a lesson on what it takes to be the champ." _________________________________________________________________ For the NWA World Hwt Title http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/HarleyRace2-1.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/NWAWorldHvy.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/AWA/BruiserBrody-1.jpg Harley Race NWA World Hwt Champ v Bruiser Brody Another excellent match. Race was overconfident, but that was soon realized as Brody gave him all he could handle. It took everything the champ could muster to escape this one with the title intact. But he managed to do just that. Pile driver, pin at the 20:56 mark to retain the World title. Road Agent Notes> Race cut an brilliant promo. The performance of the champion stood out as being good. The match lifted the crowd. Brody is improving in his performance skills. _________________________________________________________________ Show Grade B- Attn 5000 Sellout Buyrate 0.13 Money 5,230,945(+60,869) ... djthefunkchris
I can't wait for the Flair vs. Harley match that is going to come out of all of this (IT IS COMING... RIGHT!!). Great show! Most of the match's being kind of having mismatched opponants... I hate that note (A and B do not click very well together). Especially during a show, lol. I like that a HUGE upset almost happened, with Brody giving Race a run for that belt. Hopefully he don't succeed before Flair's able to get in on it.
