Battle lines have been drawn. What if the NWA struck first....

Recommended Posts

Okay, I'm going to post this and maybe it will force me to hold to it. lol

As I have a couple of days off from work, finally. My intentions are to post the NWA In Your Town! show later today. I'll pop a preview of NWA Championship Wrestling up and hopefully Fred will knock out the AWA Allstars Show sometime over the weekend. Then I can post Championship Wrestling soon.

I apologize for the delay. Everything has hit at once. Last night was the first night I have had off in like 40 days(not counting Thanksgiving-but I got paid for it too.) Now I have 10 days to burn between now and the first of the year. So hehe.

Also, the mafia game is an absolute beast! If you haven't take a look. That thing is a monster. Over 6000+ posts and 55000 views and growing! And there are still 21 players left so it is far from over. Anyway monitering that is time consuming.

But enough of the excuses. Let me go clean out the basement and I'll be back to start putting up In Your Town!

Gordon "Welcome ladies and gentlemen. And welcome to another edition of NWA In Your Town! Coming to you live from the McGaw Arena. And boy have we got a show for you tonight!"

Gene "That's right folks. Boy oh boy. This is going to be a great one. "

"But wait there's more! We have Sgt. Slaughter defending the United States Hwt Title against Rocky Johnson; and Ivan Koloff takes on Pedro Morales!"

"But in the Main Event, Harley Race will defend the NWA World Hwt Title against Bob Backlund! It should be a great one; you don't want to miss it!"

Interview with Paul Ellering and the Road Warriors.

Paul Anderson, Hansen you can run but you can't hide. Sooner or later your time will come. We want you at the Clash! "

Animal "That's right you old timers! Gives us our shot at the Clash or we will continue to make your life miserable. Just like we are going to do in a couple of minutes!"

Hawk "Us, you, titles, at the Clash! WHATTTTTTAAAAA RUSHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/RoadWarriorAnimal-1.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/RoadWarriorHawk-1.jpg w/http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/PaulEllering3.jpg

The Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering v The Minnesota Wrecking Crew

Just what you'd expect. The veterans using every trick that they knew, the youngsters relying on their youth and atleticism. The Warriors went about their business with a purpose. Trying to send a message. Animal and Hawk did their best to isolate Gene. Ellering distracting Ole. Animal catches Gene in a shoulder mounted suplex. And finishes him off. Pinning him at the 5:09 mark.

Road Agent Notes> Match was hurt because of not enough selling shown. Gene just wasn't going to make the Warriors look good. Ole looked good out there. Hawk looked to have improved in technical skills.

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/TerryFunk2.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/DoryFunkJr2.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/JackBrisco-1.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/JerryBrisco-1.jpg

The Funks v The Briscos

What a great match between these two great teams. Back and forth very even action. At times a technical showcase, others a bar fight. In fact that's how it ended as Dory was DQed while fighting with Jack. He had Jack pinned in the corner, delivering upper cut after upper cut. When Tommy Young tried to break it up he sholved him off, drawing the bell and the awarding of the match to the Briscos at the 6:50 mark.

Road Agent Notes> Excellent match. Dory looked good out there. The technical exchanges between these four were terrific. Jerry looks to be getting even more technically sound.

Interview with Dusty Rhodes.

"Well lookie here! We get to go all the way to the Northeast to git ourselves a good old Texas fight. Hansen, buckle on up this one is going to be a humdinger!"

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/DustyRhodes.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/StanHansen.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/GCW_Tag.jpg

Dusty Rhodes v Stan Hansen

An excellent match. A Texas brawl ordered up nice and special! Very open and even. Rhodes gets the advantage. Catches the big man from Boger in a Weaver lock and gains the submission at the 7:09 mark.

Road Agent Notes> These two have pretty good chemisty and it lifted the match. In fact it gives me ideas for down the road. ;) The crowd was really lifted by the match.

_________________________________________________________________

Interview with Sgt. Slaughter.

"Shut up you pukes! Shut up! You all need to stand and show your gratitude for a great American! Shut up! And tonight they give me some reject? Rocky or whatever your name is, you drew the wrong straw on the wrong night!"

For the United States Hwt Title

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/SgtSlaughter.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/UnitedStatesHvy-1.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/RockyJohnson.jpg

Sgt. Slaughter United States Hwt Champ v Rocky Johnson

Good match. Johnson made a good showing in his debut match. In the end it was Slaughter with the Cobra clutch at the 6:47 mark with the submission and retain.

Road Agent Notes> Unfortunately these two don't click. It made for some awkward moments in the match. Slaughter keeps rolling towards the Clash. I'll have to figure out some other way to use Johnson.

_________________________________________________________________

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/pedromorales10.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/IvanKoloff-1.jpg

Pedro Morales v Ivan Koloff

Good match. Very open. The pro-Morales crowd really got behind him here. He gets the win with a cannonball drop and pin at the 7:39 mark.

Road Agent Notes > Too bad these don't click. May have to change what I had planned. Maybe not. We'll see.

_________________________________________________________________

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/RicFlair2-1.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/AWA/BaronVonRaschke2.jpg

Ric Flair v Baron Von Raschke

Great match between workers from the NWA and AWA. Flair controlled the match and slapped the figure four on Baron to get the submission at the 9:46 mark.

Road Agent Notes> This match lifted the crowd. Ric looked good out there. Baron is increasing in performance skills.

_________________________________________________________________

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/RickySteamboat-1.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/LarryZybszko.jpg

Ricky Steamboat v Larry Zybszko

Excellent match. Very open, back and forth. These two put on a excellent show. Zybszko gets the win after hitting a shoulder breaker and the pin at the 12:06 mark.

Road Agent Notes > This match was Main Event worthy. Had a feeling it would be a good one, but this was a mild surprise(A*.) This match lifted the crowd!

_________________________________________________________________

Interview with Roddy Piper.

"Well, well it looks like I get the big suntanned guy from the AWA tonight. Hehe. Guess I'll have to show him how we do things around here!"

Interview with Hulk Hogan.

"Well brother, I don't know how you do 'things' where you're from but I'll tell you what brother; you just bring your A game and we'll see what you do when I get ahold of you!"

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/HulkHogan2-1.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/RoddyPiper3.jpg

Hulk Hogan v Roddy Piper

Good match. Very open, but in the end the big man gained the upper hand. Dropped the big leg drop and picked up the pin at the 7:50 mark.

Road Agent Notes> Not quite as good as match as I had hoped but good none the less. The match lifted the crowd.

_________________________________________________________________

Interview with Harley Race.

"Bob Backlund huh? Well Howdy, I guess you are the next in line to get you tail kicked by the fighting champ."

For the NWA World Hwt Title

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/HarleyRace2-1.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/NWAWorldHvy.jpg v http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/theoutlaw321/BobBacklund-1.jpg

Harley Race NWA World Champ v Bob Backlund

What a great match to top off our visit to the TriState. These two battled for 20 minutes. At one point the Funks came down to interfer only to be thwarted by Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair. That left Race and Backlund to battle to a time limit draw.

Road Agent Notes> This match lifted the crowd! Race's segment did as well.
