I went into the National Battles tab to see how our guys stacked up, and what I saw scared me a little and showed me just what a daunting task I have: Our top guy is Champion, obviously, with a score of 996. Andrews (865) and Chord (811) are next. Who's fourth? Bryan Vessey, at 642. That's a lower score than Mayan Idol, who's SOTBPW's fifth-most popular guy. Our fifth is Human Arsenal at 538.

It doesn't help that I inherited TCW's crappy TV deal with The Pop Network that still has two years on it. I set our maximum size to Cult so we don't get trapped in that cycle again. But oh boy, do I ever hope the young guys above have good rolls.

Cancel the TV deal and get a new one. It will cost you some money, but it helps the growth.

  2. Well for me the B show / tour show doesn't carry any storylines. It's just angles promoting the tv show (come see the stars of Golden Combat!) along with straight wrestling matches. Guys heading up to the main roster get all the wins, guys staying longer trade wins and losses and guys staying for a while eat pins.

Maybe sometimes I give a banger of a match on top or something to really pick things up, maybe I run some casual comedy with the heels on the way out or a loser leaves town story, but it's basically autopilot for me after years of reverse-booking with puro feds. It's really the actual storylines and gimmicks with CGC that give me pause.

Don't you get penalties if the tour shows don't advance any storylines?

  3. Yeah, that's a lot of expanding from the get-go. My method with the B-Show is like this:

Sign 6 wrestlers for the B-show pushing and designate 6 wrestlers to get depushed out of the company via the B-show for 12 regular wrestlers.

2 wrestlers should be depushed out of the company every 2 months and 2 wrestlers should join the main roster every 2 months.

At the same time, 2 wrestlers should sign on the B show and 2 wrestlers should be depushed onto the B-Show.

At some point you shut it down in favor of a second tv show and developmental.

I don't know that I would be quite so systematic about it, but something along those lines.

Probably don't have much choice but to start over. I'll avoid a lot of the signings, limit to just a few. And some of them coming in that I don't need to lock down will just be on PPA. So if they miss a few shows, its not big deal and actually saves money.

I'm debating between adding a B show or going the tour show route. Might do both, but that makes each week a bit of a burden to get through.

  4.
So halfway through February.... Just had my first B+ show rating. Thank you to cheap angles! And my developmental company is running shows that are grading reasonably well - all 8 fans in Yorkton really enjoyed the last one.

    ...but...

    BUT

It seems that my standard approach just isn't sustainable with CGC. I've ran some test sims and the company turns a very small profit without adding anyone. But they churn out constant shows in the C range. I am currently losing 100K... per week.

So the things I've done in this save:

-switched PPV carriers to a Medium range one

-opened the developmental company - cost $100K

-signed key roster members and prospects to Written deals

-signed new talent, both for main roster and developmental

-signed some road agents, managers, and one developmental trainer

The money for the developmental company is a one-time cost, and it doesn't seem like the company will drain resources. But the worker costs... that's the drain. Individual contracts might only be 2K a month, but they add up in volume. Keeping Ricky meant giving him the max I could offer - 21K per month. Eric Tyler is on 15K and Ed Monton is getting 13.5K per month. Developmental trainer Bryan Holmes is getting 11K per month. Keeping some of the roster talent on PPAs could also make a difference - its fine for someone like Price who went from $1.9K per show to $11.8K per month but appears on every show. For someone who isn't on every show, that switch might not be necessary.

I really don't want to start over, but I'm not sure that losing 400K a month is workable. A lesser amount wouldn't be as concerning. I expect that as the company grows a bit, incomes will get better. But not fast enough to cover that kind of outflow.

If I do start over, think I will hold off on the developmental company for now and just be more limited in the main roster signings.

It would make doing things like themed tournaments (CC, Mae Young, Lions Gate) and tour shows just way more sensible. I feel cheap drawing a 50K crowd for my weekly saturday show (not for CGC but for another national-sized company Im on).

WWE has basically just validated all the cheap menace angles thanks to Braun Strowman doing random menace shit on WWE for the past year and becoming one of the most over guys in WWE.

What do you think is the most sensible way to run a Best of 7 so that the 7th match (if it goes that far) is the best graded? Do you cheese the early matches with intentional low grades (short shock win, sports entertainment finish, keep strongs, just creative story finishes that don't result in high grades)?

#RIP Mr. Lucha III lineage. Pentagon is a great character and would fit extremely well with CGC but I'd prefer Drago even more.

Greg Keith >

Hopefully you come up with something interesting for Newton/Youngman/Keith characters down the line.

If I have a commish like Alex I'd be using him all show long. I could 100% see him spamming himself in an Authority-esque fashion and IRL it would go over bad but in game it wont since fans dont really get tired of that.

Drawing big crowds to the tour shows definitely feels a bit cheap. But it also helps the finances quite a bit so.... I'm definitely not drawing 50K lol

Menace angles are fun. Gargantuan could probably hit A* popularity on those alone. But I'm trying to be patient with him.

Well, being a popularity based promotion, I'm basically banking on the pair continuing to rise in popularity throughout the feud and that will help each one grade better. Don't expect to have to resort to tanking. Especially as this will stretch out over a period of time. If I was doing them over a shorter period or couldn't count on getting their popularity up as it goes along, limiting the matches in certain ways would certainly be an option.

Nah, Mr. Lucha III character is still alive and well. I only signed him on a PPA this time, so he's still got that character in OLLIE and in PGHW.

All three have easy characters, to be honest. Greg Keith is the second generation guy, the "guaranteed star" who is endlessly arrogant for being the offspring of a legend. Davis Wayne Newton - I have shortened it to Ace Newton since forever - is basically a blend of a young Nature Boy and the "magnificent bastard" characterization I used for Rich Money in my SWF diary back in the day. He isn't at the fore of the group, but he's really the leader in the background. Youngman - I was tempted to rename him but didn't find one I dug - is a badass with a laid back vibe. Basically taking some elements of Matt Riddle - without the "bro"ness and legit fighter background. They will break off from the Tyler Team after awhile, whether I involve Sam keith or not - and stick together. Could stay together long term or could have a shock breakup at some point.

I've already been tempted to spam the HELL out of Alex, TBH. but I'm trying to book a bit like I'm doing a diary, so trying to be "sorta legit". He does a show opening promo. A ring-master type deal, a bit like Jim in Progress. It just feels like someone with an ego like Alex would do just because he wants the cheers still. With a big ego, it wouldn't be hard to justify having him all over the shows more, but....

  6. It's extremely frustrating that you can't label events to be a B-event or anything like that. Best you can do is create brands and have your smaller guys in that brand and restrict those events to that brand. In the end you still have to reach the appropriate grades even if it is a B-brand taking over.

What sort of storylines are you running with CGC, any interesting characters/gimmicks?

Pretty sure there was a "level" to events in TEW2013 where you could specify an event as less important. But that would also mean it drew less of a crowd, so.... trade-off. So far I have avoided anyone getting upset about being left out, so all good at this point.

A lot of stuff is default CGC at this point. The starting three storylines are all still going on. I've added Joey Poison trying to corrupt Donte Dunn. I have some fun with angles - try to include a cheesy vignette on every show. A bit of "No Holds Barred", a bit of "Southpaw Regional". Stuff like music video shots of Gargantuan roaring in front of a big mirror for several minutes, then just saying "I never stop evolving". Boom!

The Ricky versus Thrill Seeker is a fun one. Basically Ricky is still coming across like a kid with grade school insults and Thrill Seeker just keeps calling him a child. The Best of 7 has 5 more matches so it will play out slowly.

I'm trying to have a bit of fun with characters too. Folks like Air Attack Weasel and Mr. Lucha III got different masks and gimmicks. I actually used a Cverse pic of Pentagon for Mr. Lucha III, since that seemed more fun than the default pic / lineage.

The biggest additions have been grouped together. I have Eric Tyler as a manager, running "Team Tyler", which is mixed bag group to start out with. I have Groucho Black as the bitter "big league star" who is "slumming it". Sayed Ali is the hard-hitting badass who will be one of the main non-monster heels in CGC before long. Then the trio of Greg Keith, Davis Wayne Newton, and Ernest Youngman are the future. I'll probably run them together for a few months, then have Ali turn on Black, and the three younger guys can spin off on their own. Might have Sam keith do a spell as their manager. Will probably keep them together for awhile. Could have either DeColt turn and join them. Or even have Alex (who cuts useless promos every show cuz he's great on the mic) the Commish turn on his brothers at some point and align with the future trio.

  7. Are your normal grades not enough to cover the losses in pop caused by the live weekly show being a training ground?

Yes and no. If I'm getting B- pretty consistently with most TV and PPVs but only getting C- and D+ with the tour shows, its not necessarily going to mean no progress, but it will mean slower progress. I'm not overly rushed in the chase for national, but better popularity means better attendance, more income, etc.

I shouldn't may it out like a tour show is tough to book. I've already fallen into a bit of a routine. A reasonable main event - probably a tag or 3v3 - and a bunch of other top names in a multi-tag, so that most of the roster above midcard is wrestling. I got burned by this kind of show on another save when I treated it more like a B show, and some upper card guys got annoyed that they were left off. Then a couple of angles. I just avoid having too many throwaway matches and angles tho. I can put them on the pre-show.

Should be spamming the hell out of Prometheus & Gargantuan. I believe you may be doing it wrong.

I'm always doing it wrong, Jon. Story of my life.

Gargantuan is getting plenty of face-time. Main reason he's not getting an undefeated monster Brock push is that I don't want to make his personality worse. So he's been on the losing side in some tag matches where he doesn't eat the pin. Popularity has still gone up a grade in the first month.

Prometheus just ain't ready so he's in developmental. Blockbuster is a step below both guys in terms of potential as a monster but he's probably gonna join Prome in developmental once I take the Canadian title off of him.

Through the first month. Quite a few near the top of the card have gained popularity, which is nice. But lost over $500K. Of that, $100K was opening the developmental and a good chunk was signing the developmental talent plus all the PPA talent I put on written deals. The tour shows have really helped. But worried I'm still gonna be losing money month to month going forward. I guess long-term it should be fine as the good show grades will gradually grow us toward national, the talent I've locked down will be more than capable of carrying us, and the transition from current talent that's aging to the new generation should be fairly smooth if I can do it over the next year or so in-game. But I just don't like losing money lol

  8.
So started over with CGC. Not doing things massively differently, but decided against adding a B show right away. Been running a weekly "tour" event instead. That's helping the bottom line but having to book a show that will grade reasonably makes it a bit less appealing than the B show in terms of developing the younger talent. Might switch to a B show in a few months.

Made a couple less signings, and a couple of them on PPA instead of Written deals. USPW got Nelson Callum and Masked Cougar this time, but I once again managed to keep Ricky. A bit heel heavy right now because of those signings, but I can even that out with developmental callups. and lack of local options is still workable with borrow from development.

Getting C+ and B- shows pretty regular. Good growth. Spamming the hell out of the DeColt boys. Jon, you would hate it.

It helps though that I cut television time to an hour or an hour and a half, because then I can use that as a mini-highlight real with some main eventers versus some workhorse jobbers, ala an early WWF Raw style.

For CGC, maybe use that to push down some of the older veterans and push up your new guys, and pass over some performance skills and the like. You talked about Stampede house shows, so think of it like that where they'd send guys way up north into Alberta and Sasketchewan on a skeleton crew with a couple of top stars.

Not a bad idea at all. I could do that instead of a B show. I did something quite similar in my version of the WCW Lives mod. I run a weekly tour show in Canada - there isn't a Canadian broadcaster that will carry WCW for the first 4-5 months, so its a way to keep the company popularity up without being seen there otherwise.

One thing I don't love about the Cverse that I just realized - there aren't that many locals available in Canada. I love using them on B shows and these kind of "house" shows. I'll probably hold off on it until I hit National and start making some money.

I did manage to sign Working Agreements with TCW and NOTBPW...and Alex patched up things with Steve...only for Steve to sign with USPW. This has allowed me somewhat to limit my roster, although I did make a few signing.

I did manage to sign Edd Stone...and so badly plan on running a story where he may or may not be the illegitimate son of George DeColt...and challenge Alex and Jack for the Company...and for the time being I have him and Gargantuan paired up. Price is currently feuding with them.

The Team of Joey Poison and Davis Wayne Newton just won the tag titles from Benson and Black. I may have my UC and Triple I take the titles off of them...or I may tie Ian into the Edd Stone/DeColt story...or Both!

The Canadian Title..I've hit a rut...I did sign Ross Henry and he's been good and improving...I did have him take the title off of Blockbuster, I'm just not sure where to go for here though.

Some fat has been slowly cut from the roster..I brought in the McWades for a short run they're gone...so are the New Soldiers of Fortune...Parent gone.

And the big thing I want to try..and sink money into is to rehab Marc Dubois...was high twice so I sent him to rehab which he was happy about. So I'm hoping I can turn him around and him to a big piece of the Company.

If you can sign workers to written deals, a developmental company can be done. I usually open one at the smallest size, so its only $100k. And I put it on a touring schedule. Helps build tag experience. The CGC product is pretty low-impact, so not much risk in physically wrecking the youngsters. ACPW and 4C guys will improve more in that than leaving them with their current employers.

Bringing Steve back would be so fun. Hope he didn't sign with USPW too long-term.

Illegitimate Edd sounds like pure SE. Love it.

If you aren't doing anything useful with the Canadian title, do something fun with it. Bounce it around the midcard - even if it kills the prestige, you can build it back up. Or have someone do open challenges but keep losing in cheap ways - disquals, count outs, etc.

You'll probably have to resist the urge to sign everyone there (I know they're not great talkers but its hard not to pick up all the Stones, and McFly, Deeley, Cavanagh, Jared/Erik/Cameron, etc. That's if you get past a year of course.

Never out with the DeColts. No, sir. NEVER.

I legitimately hope that Jack never retires and I can still headline him at 53 years old, with his Athleticism and Resilience down to 0. That's my GOLDEN DREAM.

I think I've mentioned this before, but I grew up on 80s WWF and Stampede Wrestling. Not just watching Stampede on TV but lived in their touring territory so I got to attend a few house shows as a kid. Still have some memories of it. The very first TEW I tried was TEW 2007 and I instantly loved CGC because it reminded me of Stampede. I know a lot of people see the Stone's and North of the Border as similar to Stampede, but its really really not. Stampede had some work-rate at times, but it was silly gimmicks and goofiness more than anything else. So my CGC will always have DeColt's.

I am using both Christian Price and Triple I as associates of the DeColt's. De facto family members, in a sense. I've toyed with renaming Identity to Triple I or something else, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I am having fun renaming new signings, something I started doing in the one AWF save.

And you're right on the personalities. I pretty much avoid hiring any negative personalities - all neutral or positive. Some are extremely positive. So that combined with creating some new positive relationships as well. CGC has a better backstage than almost any other Cverse company I've tried out on 2016. Like 3 negative personalities to start.

Looking right at your no-selling self, Alan Parent. The Soldiers are pretty much guaranteed to be on time-decline, etc. So some turnover makes sense. The problem is that almost everyone I've brought in has very little to no popularity in Canada, so doing a hard transition will hurt in that regard.

Even without adding a B show, CGC have a 2 hour weekly TV show, so its not that hard to make pretty decent use of the full roster.

Those two are key players. Signed both to 10 year deals. My only hesitation with Gargantuan is his personality - he's not overtly negative but a heavy push could change that, so it will be a bit more gradual. Plus, it gives time to develop him. Development is the key with Prometheus. Stint in development to start with and then a nice gradual push up the card.

Imagine WrestleFest headlined by Gargantuan versus Prometheus. Yes please!

  14.
So back to the Cverse and was intending to the do an SWF save. Somehow I ended up in CGC. Only a couple of weeks in and debating whether I should start over. Having a "test save" is pretty common for me. Helps get a handle on who to sign, who to push, etc. And its the signings that I went overboard on and now I'm mulling who I should have signed.

Started out by giving Written deals to about half of the starting roster. Had to battle to keep Ricky as he got offers from NOTBPW, TCW, USPW, and the SWF - haven't seen them before. I added a B show and opened a developmental company. Had the idea of starting a cruiser division so a few signings were with that in mind. The roster isn't massively bloated but its bigger than I would like. I signed a lot of talent with decent to good in ring skills and Star Quality, but lacking in popularity. Pretty much of all of them to Written deals. Plus the developmental talent. Now I'm debating whether I should have just done the developmental company, gone a bit lighter on signings, and held off on the B show. Make it a bit easier to make money at first.

Problem is (as it always is for me) that I can find a "reason" to hire almost anyone. And since I haven't done much in the Cverse for awhile, I don't have the "oh, I've used him in a save recently" dynamic either. the signings:

Air Attack Weasel - always sign him and put him under a mask. His selling makes him gold as a jobber

Bob Casey - pretty much the same, but on a PPA due to his age

Bulldozer Brandon Smith - with Findlay as a powerhouse team. The new New Soldiers of Fortune, perhaps

Davis Wayne Newton - pretty obvious

Eric Tyler - expensive. Was intending to have him manager Greg Black, and maybe the Newton/Gauge/Yougman trio

Ernest Youngman - an always hire

    Findlay O'Farrady - see BBS

Frankie Perez - wouldn't have signed him but a good cruiserweight

Greg Black - intent is to have him come in as a bitter veteran big league star gimmick. has the popularity to be an immediate main eventer. Some easy storylines.

    Greg Gauge - obvious

Kirk Jameson - kinda figured USPW would grab him first but once I got him.... I totally didn't know what to do with him. Good work with great SQ.... but...

Larry Woods - PPA deal, entirely to tag in dark matches with Gargantuan, Prometheus and Blockbuster to help them develop. Game suggested the name Stomp Stormcrow so yeah....

Masked Cougar - another CW hire. White version of his mask and he's now Snow Cougar.

Mr. Lucha III - intended to be a CW hire, but he's a MW. Couldn't help myself.

Sayeed Ali - another monster heel but a good character too

The developmental guys concern me less. Stole some ACPW talent and added a few US based tag teams.

Gotta decide if I wanna start over and trim a few of those hires. Maybe hold off on the B show and cruiser division for a bit....

But having a bad gimmick is still having a bad gimmick. They don't need one, but they have one, and they one they have stinks.

  16.
Its not likely the product. I was thinking that if you had previously used an entertainment based product and were now using something performance based. But I doubt that would matter regardless.

You can't know for sure if they have the potential to improve. But being young and having good Star Quality are a good starting point. Showing up on the Creative Meeting lists as a future star is also a strong indicator.

Two things... One, make sure you are showing as numbers and not grades. If you are looking at grades, they could have improved but just not enough to change grades. And second, look in the In-Game Editor. Skills actually have a fractions. So you might see a skill is 60, but in the IGE, you could see that its 60.2. And if they have gotten a bit better, it might be 60.4 - an improvement, but not enough to actually show.

I am still rolling with the Jack DeColt and Gargantuan fued and it has been unbelievably successful. Jack is 91 pop across Canada and Gargantuan is right behind him at 89. Story I'm going with so far is Gargantuan has gotten smart. He's kind of turned into a blend of brute force with a knack for mind games and it got Jack out of his rhythm as he dropped a tag fall to Gargantuan(small assist to an international object;)) and then he was pushed over the end when Gargantuan spit in his face during a lead in promo to Wrestle Festival. Gargantuan then bailed before Jack could react and avoided him until day two of the Wrestle Festival when they faced each other in the second round of the Wrestle Festival Tournament I'm running. Jack lost by a rage DQ and Gargantuan went on to win beating Ricky in the finals after he taunted Jack at ringside who went to attack his enemy with a chair and hit Ricky instead. Gargantuan used the victory to get a cage match with escape rules only at the next ppv and taunted Jack that he already attacked him with all the rage he had and Gargantuan still walked away and was the better man. During this time Ricky DeColt won a #1 contenders match to make him the new #1 contender after Chaos In The Cage. But due to the ending of the Wrestle Festival tourney Ricky makes it clear to Jack that he wants him to win so he can take Jack's title. With all of this weighing on the champion he was not able to over come Gargantuan after Adrian Garcia who had previous to this point just been our PPV colour guy interfered and allowed Gargantuan to win. Garcia revealed himself to be the guy helping Gargantuan take down the DeColt's the whole time and proclaimed an end to the DeColt's success in CGC!

Down the card I've had Prometheus turn out a fairly successful feud with Donte Dunn. This has worked because they have excellent chemistry against each other and Prometheus menace promo's and attacks have kept the heat in the 60's to 70's range and has boosted Prometheus to UM. I've also signed Jared Johnson who was not resigned by NOTBW and stole Edd Stone from TCW when they fell to cult and only offered him a PPA deal. I've packaged them in a group with Blockbuster called Maple Leaf Misfits and they have been a fun group to book. I've also put Chucky Dorrance with them as a kind of comic relief/pin eater. Basically none of the group really seem to get along for more than a few seconds beside Stone and Dorrance and even that is because Stone laughs at what an idiot Dorrance is. This has actually helped get Chucky to midcard up from his starting ET push.

Champions are currently Gargantuan for the World, Blockbuster with the Canadian(held since the begining of the game), and Zeus & Stevie with the tag straps(they are just keeping them warm for the Dirty White Boys/American Demolition feud I'm building), and Gargantuan won The DeColt Wrestle Festival Tournament.

Nice update. Sounds fun. Curious if the heavy push on Gargantuan has made his personality worse? That's my one big concern with him. He's not massively negative to start with, but getting a popularity jump like that would worry me a bit.

  19.
So thanks to Jon, I spent time last night poking around the 1997 Cverse mod. Its always held its appeals. Man, the talent Supreme had at that point. The lure of booking Sean McFly, Sam Keith, Bruce the Giant, and Christian Faith in their prime. Building up Tommy Cornell. Vets like Sid Streets. Loads of fun. But just not as appealing right now for some reason. I will probably go with the 2016 version of Supreme and maybe tackle the earlier version down the road.

Won't promise that Double E gets a heavy push, Jon. But its a slim possibility. If he behaves and maybe even improves a little (looking your direction here, Mr. Roberts), then its possible. Joey Morgan is gonna be a short leash too.

Its interesting how a new render or alt can change up things for certain workers. A "Macho Madness" inspired Mainstream Hernandez got posted up recently, and like that... plans for him changed. He was already going to get a pretty good push, but this just alters how I might be using him.

In typical fashion, I will be looking to set up another development company (or two) and a B show / second minor brand to help bring through new talent. The tag team division needs a bit of work and adding a cruiserweight division could be fun.

  20. Said this on another site, but I'm really curious where this goes. Very possible its a one-time deal, or maybe a couple of events they run every so often. But would love if this somehow led Cody down the path of being a promoter and looking to start a new promotion.

I've already brought the roster down to the minimum of 32. Still feels a bit too big for me. But yeah, I've definitely fallen in love with sports entertainment products now. Not knowing present day SWF cannon too much might help too.

Also, man, Phillip Roberts is nearly as good as Sean McFly, possibly better, to start. Desperate to find something good for him to start moving up the roster next to Eric & Tommy.

Mainstream Hernandez became HUGE in my save. SWF has a lot of young talent that they pretty much don't do anything with. Scythe, Spade, Allen, Hawaiian, Wright all went free in mine. TCW haven't really turned anyone young into significant stars. They turned to Guide & Scout for a significant time, have relied on Dubois and Speed I guess. Anyone they build even remotely to around high 60s pop tends to get stolen by SWF/USPW when their contract goes out. Or TCW lets them go if they're way too deep into time decline. Maybe in 2025 TCW will have developped their youth in mine ;(

For me, its not just SWF canon. its all the Cverse stuff that happens with the growth of TCW, the East Coast Wars, etc. Its a rich history and altering it is part of the appeal, but its trying not to alter things too much. Or have things happen too early. I run into the same issue in real world historical mods, where I want to use workers with gimmicks that wouldn't really be valid for several years, etc.

Roberts is monstrously good. There is a reason he had such a long Supreme career. Just never developed those entertainment skills much. Could be a good pairing with a strong manager who can do the talking.

Those cuts tend to happen in most saves, too. Spencer Spade is at TCW and close to headlining in that test save.

BTW instead of starting up the new SWF save while watching Raw tonight, I'll probably be poking around the 97 mod. That is your fault, Jon.

Switch the product to the default Attitude Entertainment one with some minor alterations. Lower Hardcore to Low so I wouldn't have to deal with changing all the matches to having Average Risk, and lowered Comedy down to Medium so I wouldn't have to deal with having to force Comedy matches on the card. It also helped us with some sponsorship going from quite tough to favorable. The only other change I've done is taking off Face/Heel divide and removed the Strict Storylines, maybe eventually I'll enjoy micromanaging that stuff but I'm not a big fan of maintaining either. Plus its Attitude Era, everyones turning every other week B)

<snip>

Meant to reply to this yesterday. Nice work. Like I've said a few times, once you get a good handle on how to roll with Sports Entertainment, its awfully fun to book a good sized company with adequate talent and popularity. You can use those angles to carry things and that gives a lot more freedom in booking the actual matches.

I've never had an SWF (or Hollyweird) save last very long in the CV97 mod, which is an awful shame. But I get too caught up in trying to load up on all the guys who develop into stars in Cverse canon, rather than letting things evolve more naturally. Maybe I'll give SWF 97 a shot after a 2016 SWF save.

SOTBPW stealing SWF guys and USPW/SWF feeding on TCW guys is pretty typical. I think Remo is almost 100% guaranteed to end up in SOTBPW. Guys going from TCW to SWF/USPW tends to depend on whose cult at any given time.

Though maybe I'm using too much anecdotal evidence.

No, that's pretty much how it always plays out. SOTBPW poaches the stars heavily from everyone, USPW and the SWF poach a bit from each other, and both of them raid TCW. The nice thing about that sequence is that TCW and the SWF are forced to build new stars moreso than they have in the past. Garcia was a first in this save - and really cool to see - and Mainstream Hernandez is at B+ popularity for Supreme. TCW turned Davis Wayne Newton into a star. The fact that 8 of the most popular workers on the USPW roster are former TCW guys isn't unique - just more the sheer volume that is a bit surprising. The timing of things varies a bit save to save because when contracts come up will vary in each save.

  23. so ran a test soak watcher just for fun. Reached 2020. SWF are still behind USPW and ahead of TCW. Remo won the 2018 Wrestler of the year.... for SOTBPW. Jack Bruce is still amazing and won Veteran Wrestler of the Year in 2018 and 2019... for SOTBPW. The top star for the SWF is now... Frederique Antonio Garcia. And legit - he's up to like B+ or A popularity.

USPW's top of the card is 85% TCW guys. Note even exaggerating. It legit looks like the upper card from TCW for 2016 just had a couple USPW guys added.
