  1. <p>Nice recap Showtime. I'm gonna have to check which of those Stable names are canon and which aren't, cuz a couple might need to be stolen. </p><p> </p><p>

I should have read this sooner, because I'm running Burning Hammer and just signed Kunomasu. The news story said PGHW weren't resigning him, so I presumed pretty good Time Decline. Only gave him a 2 year deal. When he finally arrived.... he's my most Time Decline-y worker, over some 50 year olds. 10 years Terminal. My plan is to use him as the multi-tag grumpy oldhead. He will probably join a "respect" stable that will include a bunch of workers trying to prove themselves in BH, including Angry Gilmore, Eisaku Hoshino (til he leaves), Eien Miyamoto, Shingen Miyazaki, William Hayes.... Kunomasu will just slot into the multi-man tags. I wasn't really intending him to do much singles work, but having read this, I will proactively avoid it lol</p>

Thanks for all the help!<p> </p><p> Also, if it's any consolation, reading this topic for Puro advice has made me want to start a BHOTWG game, and I have very little play time with the CV, so perhaps that will be my next endeavor and you'll see me again in this thread. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I highly doubt any has concerns if you have further questions. New Japan and Burning Hammer have a lot of similarities, and it makes more sense in here than necro-posting in a more general puroresu booking thread. </p><p> </p><p> ****</p><p> </p><p> So finished off the first tour last night. And made it through May, which doesn't take long with no shows to book. </p><p> </p><p> In most saves, I tend to avoid signing too many vets. But given the nature of puro, it makes sense to have them, even if its just in multi-man tags. And I apparently REALLY like signing Time Decline workers on this save. Saw a news story that PGHW weren't resigning a 45-year old Eisaku Kunomasu. I'll have me some of that! Of course, the fact that he isn't being resigned is a pretty big hint. A long career in a company with a heavy product is a pretty big hint by itself. So I hedged my bets and only gave him 2 years, and the wages weren't too bad. 20K a month. So when he finally joins.... he's my most on-decline worker. 10 years, Terminal Decline. Enjoy the oldhead role in nothing but multi-man tags, Eiasaku #2. </p><p> </p><p> So for the second tour of 2016, I will be bringing back most of the workers who were on touring deals. I decided to hurt Warrior Engine a little and sign away both Taheiji Konoe and Zeshin Makioka. They did reasonably well on the first tour and I've started to build some tag experience. A big, tough, violent tag team seems awful fun in Burning Hammer. Especially with Sanda and Hamacho being near the end. I brought back Munemitsu Senmatsu on a touring deal and the trio works a lot as a.... trio. </p><p> </p><p> Doing some checking for other Super Junior / cruiserweight options to bring in for the BOSJ. Going to do 2 blocks of 10, just like the Grand Prix. Will probably just end up bringing in a couple of the prospects who are in development, like Razan. </p><p> </p><p> Sanda's deal came up, and I hedged my bets there by just signing him to a PPA deal. He tends to get tired pretty quick so he won't be all that useful. Hamacho is a locker room leader, though, so figure I'll keep em a bit longer. </p><p> </p><p> The Tsunami narrative turned Japan into a swamp. The economy and wrestling industry are both at 4. So quite curious how bad its going to affect attendances. </p><p> </p><p> After chatting with Jon, I finally pulled the trigger and spent about $18 million on a subscription broadcaster, HammerCast. H-Cast had Tiny coverage everywhere but Japan and the US (thanks a lot, TV deal). Will be showing everything on it, trying to grow the company abroad. I also put my child companies events and tour highlights on there, which might lead to some odd worker popularity formatting for developmental workers. But so be it. </p><p> </p><p> If I still turn a profit, I will probably look to open up a second developmental company before long. Having too many workers in Fire Kingdom means a lot of them don't get on the shows. Having new worker generation on high is giving me a few randomly generated workers that I'm hoping develop into something.</p>

It can't happen "naturally" in-game. But you can set it up that way in the Editor.</p>
  4. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="soxfan93" data-cite="soxfan93" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41359" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Thank you both very much! I've been contemplating this for a couple of weeks now, because with global expansion being all the rage these days, my roster is a bit bloated on the gaijin side of things. Omega, my UC, my biggest signing to date, and a couple prospects, and I'm up against my limit. Perhaps the world isn't ready for Axel Dieter, Jr., yet despite what his ratings seem to indicate.<p> </p><p> Regarding time decline, would you stay away from anyone beyond the "it'll still be a few years" note when booking the tournament? It would be a shame to have to keep Minoru and Ishii out.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I wouldn't worry much about earlier time decline. The ones who tended to get exhausted and impact match grades were further in already. Terminal Decline and such. And having one guy in there who might wear down badly throughout isn't the worst thing. I just included too many. Like 5. Poor choice.</p>
  5. Didn't quite manage to finish out the tour, but close. Made it to the April PPV. So one more week worth of shows to go.

Angry Gilmore is indeed on Time Decline. Good thing its only a 5 year contract at $40K per month. But its early and he's been money so far in just a couple of matches. Had him go over William Hayes at the PPV and they will join forces, starting up a Respect sekigun of outsiders. His popularity is already shooting up - he's mid-70s in just a few shows. Came in at 66 across Japan.

I now have 5 workers who have average Japanese popularity at 90 or above. I have about the same number who are between 85 to 89. Kikkawa is 100 across the board. But the downside of popularity gains has already started - wage increase requests. Kikkawa asked for a big bump. I usually just give them 75% of the requested amount, as its just evening out what they should be earning and I imagine they will ask repeatedly if you turn them down. Gotta keep the star man happy.

Had 2 teams finish on 16 points in the Global Junior Tag Grand Prix - Elemental III & Masao and Sensational Dragon & Helikaon. It was a single block and Dragon & Helikaon won the match so I could have just gone with that as a tie-breaker, but decided to do a PPV match for it instead. Dragon & Helikaon won anyway. Intent is to serve as something of a "coming out" party for Helikaon getting a push as a major SJ. Also debuted Zero Optimus, who tagged with Mystic Dragon and they did pretty well too. I've been searching for other quality Super Juniors to use as legacies but will probably end up relying on the game spitting out generated workers who have the quality to get considered for a legacy.

Started making plans for the Best of the Super Juniors. That should be fun to book, especially with the top guys gaining some popularity.

My big debate is still when to pull the trigger on the broadcaster to kick off some growth outside of Japan.

  6. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Yokai" data-cite="Yokai" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41194" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>If you have more than 5 workers on time decline is there an easy way to see the full list?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Change the push of the ones you can see to non-wrestling roles so they don't show up, and it will show you the rest.</p>
  7. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="soxfan93" data-cite="soxfan93" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41359" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>As I've devoted most of my TEW time over the last few months to an NJPW game, and BHOTWG is the CV-equivalent, I have a question that I feel fits into this thread. Do you guys have a "limit" to the number of Gaijins participating in your G1-esque tournament?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I did not, but I've only run one and the starting roster of Burning Hammer didn't provide me with THAT many options. I think I had two gaijin involved, both in Block A. Block B was entirely native. </p><p> </p><p> But if I had a bigger roster with more talent diverse talent, I think I probably would cap it. Maybe a max of 4 per block, so it doesn't end up being 50% non-native talent? </p><p> </p><p> This might be obvious, but be careful with how many oldheads you put into it. I had a few guys who are past 40 and several of them are on Time Decline. As you might expect, they get worn out. They start to drag down match ratings even more. I ended up having to drag out both my G1-like Grand Prix and my Junior Tag Grand Prix to give some of the older guys some rest.</p>
  8. <p>Fun thought. Depends on how much you want to stick to "canon", at least in terms of who has Business skills and can therefore be a possible owner. If you are willing to edit, it opens it up even more. </p><p> </p><p>

Some options that jump to mind, and apologies for duplicating what others have suggested....</p><p> </p><p>

    Christian Faith - a legend</p><p>

Phil Vibert - never got his way as booker....</p><p>

Steve DeColt, Ricky DeColt, Jack DeColt - don't think any start with Business skill but tons of interesting possibilities</p><p>

    Edd Stone - why not? </p><p> </p><p>

Almost anyone with a background in SE or with a bigger company could be given some motivation, similar to Sam Strong taking over USPW when it was small and struggling. If he was closer to retirement, Jack Bruce would be fascinating.</p>

  9. I'm a bit torn on how much I want the Tsunami narrative to wreck up PGHW and GCG.

Had a long-long weekend and got some TEW in. Was hoping to finish out April to pull down the curtain on the first tour, but didn't quite make it. Close to done the J-Tag GP and as I hoped, there will be two teams tied on points so they will face off to pick the winner at the PPV.

So it looks like the Entertainment-based promos are what is driving up the popularity of certain workers. Possibly combined with high momentum. I'm going to have to be careful not to overuse it to the point of abuse. But I have added the B show now, so the lower card guys should get more time. Will also use it to highlight some of the developmental folks.

  10. <p>I think a big part of the Burning Hammer appeal is what the promotion could look like in a couple of years. Some transition to get there, but I can definitely see how constant awesome matches are the norm. </p><p> </p><p>

I downloaded the save as well and had the same bit of relief looking at the early shows. Don't want a roster of that size as I get burned out when I bloat up a roster (my most common activity on TEW, I think). </p><p> </p><p>

And if Gilmore is on the downside already, so be it. He will still be an awesome gatekeeper gaijin to help skill up other workers. I can put him in a few tag teams, etc. One option would be to have him leading a stable, which would work with an idea I've been toying with. Not a Bullet Club-esque gaijin stable, but a mixed stable of "outsiders" - talent who are best known for their work outside of Burning Hammer. Rather than a "takeover" approach like NEO have (in my mind, at least), they are taking a more "proving ourselves" approach. They all repsect Burning Hammer and its history, but recognize their backgrounds sets them apart. I was toying with Hoshino leading it, at least at first, but he won't be around that long and I'm not convinced it fits him. But besides him and Gilmore, there is Eien Miyamoto, Shigen Miyazaki, William Hayes, the GCG guys, the Warrior Engine guys.... Loads of options. Might have Hoshino and Gilmore form it, with leadership transferring pretty quickly to Gilmore....</p>

  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Derek B" data-cite="Derek B" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41359" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>When it comes to the weight classes I usually try to keep the side equal... but even NJPW isn't too strict about that when it comes to multi man tag matches. The G1 tag matches in particular had Sho, Yoh, BUSHIShota Umino, El Desperado and Ren Narita (from memory) that would team with various heavyweights as required.<p> </p><p> When it comes to Young Lions, they tend to just be there to get experience and it doesn't matter too much about the weight class as long as they are learning. For senior members of the roster the divides don't seem to matter too much as long as it's not a major tournament match... at that point it's fairly rare to have anyone step up from Junior to heavyweight but there are examples.</p><p> </p><p> As for Toju Munkata... I had originally planned to keep him at Junior but at some point I must have changed my mind and he went up to Middleweight. Kazunori Yamura has the potential to move down to Junior too... he'd be a bit of an oddball there given his style but he might be able to make it work and give you another Junior team, which there are never enough of.</p><p> </p><p> And angles... I also changed my match ratio to 90%. You get a 15% leeway anyway so even at 100% you could run a decent number of angles. I usually have 10 matches on a card, with between 2 and 4 angles on there. I always have an angle to close the show, usually the winner of the main event talking to the fans, putting themselves over, hyping the tournament they are in.... or sometimes someone coming out to make a challenge to someone else. The rest of the angles are usually something similar or a video recap of action so far in the opposing block of a tournament or a training montage or something like that. Basically a way to get more people on the card and give some of them a chance to work on their entertainment skills a little. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I'm halfway through booking my Summit Challenge just now.. the highest average I've ever seen in a tournament is 99 from Yasuhiko Taira last year and Hyosuke Kokan (somehow). We currently have 5 people on track to equal or break that score. What a time to be a BHOTWG fan. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Good lord, those grades. Golden era for Burning Hammer. I'm just trying to make sure my main events are 80 or above lol</p><p> </p><p> I've tried to get Toju to move up. Yamura is willing to move down, but I haven't pulled the trigger. I think that makes the most sense. I would rather have a slightly out-of-place junior team than a mixed one, TBH. </p><p> </p><p> I may have to go a bit heavier with the angles. Especially on TV. Will probably look at add the B show before long. </p><p> </p><p> Didn't book anything last night but did take a closer look at Angry Gimore. He's had a handful of skills drop exactly 1 point between the 1st month and 2nd month. That worries me that he's starting to decline lol. Way overthinking this.</p>
  12. I'm pretty strict. I know many big companies IRL don't mind mixing lightweights & heavyweights but I'll probably keep a strict line. If they don't want to move up they can stay competing for the Junior which I'm happy to allow to main event anyways.

As for them mixing - as long as there's a perfect balance between both teams then I don't mind them. As in, if its 3 heavys & 2 juniors on one-side, has to be the exact same on the other side. At least, that's how it'll be for when I book BHOTWG. I wouldn't uphold that with other companies.

I've generally avoided too much mixing so far. Mentioned before that in past Burning Hammer saves, I would end up mixing them too much and the Super Juniors just didn't get highlighted near enough. But I do like the thought of the mixing being balanced, for the most part. Given some stable wars going on, some mixed tags makes quite a bit of sense as it ensures the SJs are involved.

  13. Gosh your pace is so fast. I guess that's the upside of not doing it in dynasty format xD

Heihachiro Sakai, from my quick glimpses is up there with the best of the roster from day one, and considering he's probably got tons of room for growth and is behind pop wise, I'm not shocked if he ends up exceeding all of them pretty quickly.

Whats your stables set up like?

I had a game where I was testing where Eiji Hamacho died on the second day and I kinda wish it had been my main game ;( It wouldve been a very interesting detour.

Are you not gonna try and bring Toju Munkata up to the heavyweight division?

Angry Gilmore makes a ton of sense to join BHOTWG, but I think between seeing Derek do it and now you, I might pass if the opportunity comes up, just for the sake of novelty. It makes 100% sense to have him in though.

I believe I lowered the ratio to 80 or 90% as well. No strict angle placement, just depends on what's necessary. I also run post-show angles to simulate interviews.

I don't find my pace that fast lol. I sit down and can get thru 2 to 3 shows in a hour while I'm watching TakeOver or SummerSlam on the TV, with New Japan World streaming beside TEW on the laptop. Booking another company with more angles takes a tiny bit longer, but not an awful lot longer. I keep hoping for a big 4 or 5 hour stretch of nothingness, where I can get thru like 20 shows.... but that's unlikely until winter arrives and kills everything.

Its realistic that the old heads just can't do constant show. I should have expected that more.

Undecided on Munkata. I kinda wanna keep him as a SJ, as his Psychology will help there, with some of the oldhead SJs being on Time Decline and starting to wind down. I like the idea of the Punk Nasty team, but they create a bit of a conundrum.

Lucked out with Gilmore. He's honestly one of the few stars of SWF or USPW that really fully fits with Burning Hammer. TCW has a couple of options in that regard.

The angles were intended to emulate the "backstage post-show" stuff that New Japan does, or even the MMA-style post-match in-ring bit. Another super simple but really effective angle I use on PPVs is "Entrances". Exactly what it sounds like - rated on Overness, and just providing the kind of big, showy entrances for big matches that companies tend to do. Usually have them for the main event of a PPV, and often the Semi Main.

My idea for stables is that some will be a loose alliance of goals, rather than all being tight units with defined hierarchy.

    Stables:

Kikkawa Army - default, but Venom will be getting bounced. Probably Saito before too long

Burning Path - Nakasawa, Horri, Atsumori Takemura and Elemental III but they will be adding a few more Burning Hammer loyalists. Will probably avoid gaijin additions, for the most part.

    NEO - also default

Rebel Hearts - name is stolen from TigerKinnney's awesome diaries. The Rebellion will be adding Toshitala and the Keith's, as a generational change-over. Will probably get re-branded once the youngsters take the torch

I might have one more that isn't jumping to mind. The trio I have on touring deals from Warrior Engine is a loose stable, as are the three Black Canvas heavyweights. They are basically thrown together because of their background, but they make for decent teams, so.... it works.

A few other ideas.... an all-junior stable, led by one of the Four Pillars. A native-talent stable of non-BH wrestlers, led by Shingen Miyazaki, who came through other companies but are looking to show they "belong". Might have Hoshino lead it until he leaves. Was toying with a transitional stable (similar to Rebel Hearts) with Hamacho and Sanda, along with a HW tag team (probably Taro and Enomoto, who are both in developmental for a sting) to pas the torch, but probably not workable due to Time Decline.

  14. So update time. Managed to get some shows booked this weekend. Made it to the Fire Dream of the Immortals event. 27 shows in the bag. It feels like I've done a TON.... but still not out of March yet.

The Kitozon Summit Grand Prix final was at Fire Dream of the Immortals. It was actually Hiroaki Nakasawa against Heichiro Sakai. I didn't realize Sakai had won Block B until I double-checked the math the spreadsheet spit out. Was sure Horri was taking it, but nope. Nakasawa won in a pretty good match. He's in the low-90s in popularity, but still a bit behind Kikkawa, who is at like 97 across Japan. Sakai has been a revelation. I don't feel like I've pushed him heavy, but he's into the low 90s in some regions. One of the fastest rises I've seen on TEW 2016 and I haven't been putting him over more popular talent. Not that I'm complaining - he has the talent to match the push and he's even a positive personality to boot. I've been using him as one of the cornerstones - using positive meddle to create friendships with workers who are loyal to other companies.

Sakai has been the biggest popularity jump, by a wide margin. Elemental III has gone up more than any other Super Junior. Koshiro Ino refused to budge until recently but he's finally pushing toward 80. Toshusai still hasn't recovered the couple of points he dropped, though.

The Grand Prix fallout will be fun. Nakasawa was already the leader of the Burning Path stable, along with near-equal Kinnoji Hori, Elemental III and a couple others. Sakai didn't win, but he stepped up as legit threat to Kikkawa, which the Big Daddy won't like at all. That will take a long time to play out, but the fact that both Iseda and Okazaki are on Time Decline pushes them into the background to a degree. Hamacho and Sanda remain basically useless post-GP. Kinda killing any thoughts I had to giving them "one last run".

The Rebellion are only slightly better. My plan was to give them the belts, have them mentor a younger team (Toshita & the Keiths), then eventually lose the belts to the team they mentored. Still gonna be the plan, I think, but I will have to use Shimedzu and Niyamae a bit more sparingly. On the upside, Shimedzu has been passing Psychology tips to his protégé, Toju Munkata, quite frequently. Like 4 times now. So Munkata's Psychology jumped from 69 to 86. Its his single great attribute, which is weird. He suddenly became much more useful.... but the mixed tag team he's in is a bit of an issue.

The J-Tag Grand Prix is rolling as well. I debuted Zero Optimus, though I still want to find a better mask for him. He's tagging with Mystic Dragon in the GP. Its Yanagimoto under the mask.

William Hayes has done well so far. Debuted him in a non-title main event loss to Kikkawa. He's going to be an upper-card gate-keeper type. Don't really see a need to build him up as a major gaijin. Especially as....

Angry Gilmore is signed up. Paid through the nose - 40K a month, which isn't far off from the likes of Kikkawa get. I was bidding against the SWF, SOTBPW, and USPW, so quite surprised I was able to outbid them. If Angry is on Time Decline when he arrives, I may weep. But if he's not.... I should be able to get his popularity up in short order and have a major gaijin star capable of leading a stable of his own. So that's pretty cool.

I had to overpay to keep Mystic Dragon. He's not loyal to Burning Hammer, so WLW kept bidding and I had to drive up the wage. I do hope to get his popularity up to the point where he can main event tour shows so that won't be so bad once that happens. Just annoying in the meantime.

One factor that might be impacting Sakai's popularity rise.... promos. I mentioned before that I dropped the Match-Angle ratio to 90% and I run promos. An Authority Announcement (featuring Elemental II) on some of the TV shows, talking about the Grand Prix, and then two stable promos. One is with Kikkawa and Sakai and the other is Nakasawa, Horri, and Elemental III. Super simple angles - on-screen rated on Entertainment, talking about the other group, off-screen and rated on Overness. The grades are strong - mid 80s to high 90s. But all of those 5 are seeing their popularity go up so maybe the angles are playing a role. Strong booking, regular wins, high momentum.... all of those things would be too. But I might need to expand this and experiment a bit.

  18. <p>Double-posty goodness. Didn't actually end up with time to play last night. Just poked around a bit and did some planning. Decided a bit of extra sleep was better than getting one tour show in the books - awful logic, I know. </p><p> </p><p>

Totally stealing Derek's idea of the Junior Tag Burning World League Grand Prix (JTBWLGP). Came up with a bit of a backstory (unnecessary), but the Four Pillars decide to take on random partners. The four they will pick from will be Helikaon, Kill Switch, Relampago and Yanagimoto. Still debating the pairings, and will likely test for negative chemistry in some dark matches first. </p><p> </p><p>

Yanagimoto will debut as a legacy. But I'm still deciding on which. Kiyaru or Optimus, I think. Fearsome Kiyaru or Zero Optimus. Just gotta settle on the mask. Got close to 500 random Cverse renders with masks, and probably 400 of those COULD work. Just gotta settle on something that its relatively close.</p>

Nice shout. He was amongst the second round of hires I did fro the child company - Fire Kingdom Pro Wrestling. He's a bit older already so I don't have high hopes but he could turn into a solid hand for the Super J's. The Stunner backstory is a nice little one and I will likely keep him working under than name because of that. </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Derek B" data-cite="Derek B" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41359" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Just LOL'ed to myself... the finals of my Summit Challenge in the first year was Horri over Nakasawa and you have the same participants. I guess great minds think alike... and also they are pretty much the top guys that aren't Kikkawa so they are the obvious choices. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> In case you want to borrow another idea if mine, when I booked my Jr Tag League I had Elemental/SenDrag/Masuko/MYSTIC create new teams and challenge each other to win with their new partners. Each one picked partners who would reflect an aspect of their own personalities....</p><p> </p><p> Sensational Dragon picked Helikaon, believing him to be the best wrestler outside of the Four Pillars and therefore giving himself the very best chance of winning. Playing up his competitive nature as much as possible, and planting some seeds for his true feelings about MYSTIC Dragon's place in the group.</p><p> </p><p> MYSTIC Dragon brought in Tsuneyo Yanagimoto, an outsider to the company who he believed had been overlooked by BHOTWG so far. This reflected his own personal frustrations with BHOTWG in overlooking talent and helped to sow the seeds for his own lengthy journey too.</p><p> </p><p> Elemental III picked Jin Miyamoto... an unlikely long shot, but someone he feels could become a star (he hasn't) if given the kinds of opportunities that E3 had been given, like the Elemental mask. This reflects his own story of coming from nowhere to achieve big things.</p><p> </p><p> Marihito Masuko decided to team up with Hijo Del Relampago. Considering himself to be a world traveller who has always been unafraid to take chances, picking Relampago matched him up with a kindred spirit in a man who left his home to travel the world chasing a dream.</p><p> </p><p> With Hyosuke Kokan and Kansuke Konda as champions going in, this tournament set up quite a few matches down the line... but in the end MYSTIC & Tsuneyo won the tournament defeating American Panther in the final. I believe I actually gave Tsuneyo the fall in this match to help set up that MYSTIC wasn't even the won who was winning the matches for his team to help his personal rivalry with Sensational Dragon... and to push the talented youngster as a man to keep an eye on in future too, especially with the Best OF Super Juniors coming up next. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> So yeah... that was a fun tournament to book. My next one is coming up soon and I don't have nearly as much planned going into it, with KC Glenn (formerly Helikaon) and Roderick Remus having won the last two. They are also the reigning champions so the main story will be whether anyone can stop them... and the answer to that is "probably", because I want the Jr tag belts off of KC so he can focus on the main Junior title. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Well, with Kikkawa not involved and about a third of the upper card / main event guys on Time Decline for me, there were only so many legit options. I thought Ino might be closer to Horri but by the time they met, there was almost a 10 point gap in popularity between them and I just didn't want to job Horri out. Hoshino is an even bigger step behind Nakasawa in Block A, and I didn't feel the need to give a big bump to someone who isn't going to stay with the company long-term. If Sakai's popularity at the start of the KSGP was where it is now, he would have been a legit option to find a way past Nakasawa. But that's fine - I actually rather like the narrative arc of this GP establishing him as fully arrived, and the next one can be his playground. </p><p> </p><p> That J-Tag idea is gold. Gives a way to involve the Four Pillars without necessarily just having them one of the pair of them win because their pop says they need to. I rather dig that approach. It will help with the match grades as well. I just need to call up Yanagimoto and decide which legacy match that he gets, then who to partner him with.</p>
  20. <p>So made it into March. Guess my concern about remaining Grand Prix matches was a non-starter - we will finish up easily. Have 4 more shows before the PPV and the most matches left for any one participant is 2. Eiji Hamacho will be worn down to a useless, Time Declining nub of a wrestler but we will finish them up. And then I can have my Nakasawa versus Horri final on the Night of the Burning Hammers. </p><p> </p><p> Sakai is now my fourth most over heavyweight. That is.... quite the jump. He had a couple of the better matches in the Grand Prix, in terms of grade. Possible future ace right there. And the storyline of him having to overcome Kikkawa could carry Burning Hammer for YEARS. </p><p> </p><p> The nice thing is that the popularity bumps of a few guys is making the show grades a tiny bit better, which is enough to make a difference. Not skirting the line of the show grade damaging company popularity in a given region quite as much. </p><p> </p><p> The lead announcer for PGHW came up and I went after him, but apparently not hard enough. Which is no biggie - the game spat out a rather phenomenal young Japanese announcer right at the start and he's not only excellent, but getting more excellent. Started out in the high 80s and is already in the low 90s - probably the fastest I've seen an announcer improve. </p><p> </p><p> Toju Munkata got Psychology tips form his mentor a couple shows in a row so he got a nice bump in that regard. Sweet unexpected boost. </p><p> </p><p> I will be kicking off the Junior Tag League shortly. Haven't settled on a name just yet - guess that should probably happen. Gonna go with a round-robin of 10 teams in a single block, I think. A straight elimination tournament of 8 teams would be easy. Too easy? I'm also debating whether the Four Pillars should be involved or not. Both are in tags - Double Dragon for the obvious two, and Elemental III and Masuko in the other. Both combos lack a lot of experience at this point but grade quite well. If one of the rewards is a junior tag title shot.... neither team really wants or needs that. Gotta sort some things out with the J-League before I go forward much more. </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Lo-Drew" data-cite="Lo-Drew" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41359" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>A few that come to mind. I've always loved <strong>Frankie Perez</strong>. He's a SJ, but his style is Puro. I think one of his best qualities is his versatility. You can keep him as a SJ. Starts off with B- brawling, good technical, decent flyer(C in Aerial and B- in flashiness). Has a B in SQ and you can ask him to move up. Unless he ends up flabby, he'll move up a letter grade in that. His selling is hs only downside since it's at a D. If that's a deal breaker to some, that makes sense. Other than that, you can use him in a tag setting, singles, in the Junior division, you can move him up. You can put him under a mask and with his SQ, it wouldn't be the worse move.<p> </p><p> For more gaijin options, <strong>Konrad Makinen</strong> is worth taking a chance on. Definitely wold have to let him develop in one of your child feds, but he has a B in SQ and is one of the best at selling in the entire game. He could develop into an intriguing SJ prospects.</p><p> </p><p> I agree with yo that generally, the heavyweight scene is pretty solid. Funding some SJs can be tricky. Luckily, Mexico provide some really interesting options. <strong>Chess Maniac</strong>(in his bio it mentions he's been dong tors in BHOTWG anyways) s a great glue guy. Change of pace as he's a technician(B- in that along with C+ in Aerial) but hs character can be used as a great backbone of a heel unit(like he is for me). <strong>Silver Tiger</strong> too. I'll throw one more since I realized he's available in Japan; <strong>Ant-Man</strong>. Would be a junior, but he has an A in power, which you can use that however. Has a B- in SQ, B- in Charisma. He needs some polish but if he can improve his front row stats a bit, he can definitely be a solid addition.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Some great shouts. </p><p> </p><p> Love Perez as well, and he is more a puro worker than when I bring him into other promotions. I have him on the roster on a Written, working as Kill Switch. Teaming with Helikon, and they will be in the J-Tag Grand Prix I will be starting soon. </p><p> </p><p> Makinen is someone I first noticed when there was a re-render for him, but I typically book American promotions so never been able to grab him. He's in developmental for me right now. Same with Ant-Man, an old favorite. I always pick a mask for him and just haven't settled on one yet. </p><p> </p><p> Chess Maniac is on a touring deal, but he's honestly not getting THAT much use. Once the Grand Prix is over, I will be getting the Super Juniors a bit more time and that should help. Might emulate Derek and redub him something like "Chess King" or even "The Grand Master". He can do a bad Jeff Goldblum impersonation. </p><p> </p><p> Your post did get me to spend a bit of time scrolling thru Mexico. So many workers that would be fun to add. Loads of potential. Most can't work in Japan at this point, and SOTPW have so many locked up on Writtens. But still.... something I will be watching for going forward.</p>

I've also bought out GCG and killed them outright. The PGHW workers that were loyal to them continue to be loyal, the GCG guys no longer have loyalty to GCG.</p><p> </p><p> When trying to negotiate with PGHW's loyal workers I haven't been able to get them, just as you usually can't get loyal workers. You do however have the option to release workers from your child company's roster... I've never tried this to see if you can sign a worker right after that, but in theory you should be able to as you are only ending a PGHW contract (for example) and not a BHOTWG contract. I might make a copy of a game to test this out later when I get the chance. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That's pretty much how I was thinking it would play out. Thank you, sir.</p>
  22. Oh, Super J's moving up is definitely a possibility. Just not set on it. I don't think there will be a lack of quality young heavyweights, either. So it might just be down to who develops and who will move up in weight class.

Curious for any other under-the-radar suggestions you might have, Lo-Drew. Always looking to check out talent I may have overlooked!
