1. How dare I stick up for the mod/modder, I'll keep my mouth shut in future

Tone, good sir. Just about the tone. Not that the sentiment is wrong, but all about how you say it. When part of the concern identified is HOW people say something seems incorrect, needs to be updated, or they have a suggestion they would like to see implemented... responding in kind is not really ideal.

They can't leave until the contract is up, but they also are able to work for other companies?

Is this correct?

That's what the feature explanation explicitly says. It would be block them from signing exclusively somewhere else, but still allow them to work for other companies.

I've hired a couple of people who appear to be quite good, and the game recommends them be openers or enhancement talent.
If I'm trying to sign people to walk in higher up the card, what should I be looking out for in a worker?

Popularity for the most part and roster size. I believe Style still plays a part, though someone can correct if me if this is no longer the case. Workers who have a style that fits the promotion product will be preferred to workers who do not. So a Technician may have the popularity to be a midcarder, but in a Sports Entertainment promotion, that style doesn't work as well sot hey might auto-push to Lower Midcarder.

Having a team of two main eventers is probably going to have a different use than a team of two lower midcarders. A lot of companies will throw main eventers together as a team for a time, whether its because they don't have anything else for them, or maybe they want to build toward an eventual feud, but almost no companies build their tag division around that exclusively.

Why are you chasing positive tag chemistry? Tag chemistry is pretty rare, and that severely limits your booking if you are only putting together tag teams with chemistry.

Not to mention that after awhile of tagging together, the tag experience will override the positive chemistry boost anyway.

Playing as BCG. Have new worker generation on its highest setting and have the imported name mod from Real World Chronicles. The Tsunami narrative happened and then this guy is generated.....

    Random.... but so cold.

Weirdly, his Star Quality is literally 0.

  9. My approach is to hit all the areas so that we build up popularity in all of them. Targeting those broadcast deals. No use racing to Cult if you don't really have the financial stability to survive at Cult. And unless the financials have changed, you generally need about $1 million in the bank to ensure Cult doesn't sink you. As much as I'd love to hit Cult so I can offer Written deals and stave off the CONSTANT talent thefts.... it would come at a big cost.
  10. I had those three in a Burning Hammer save and they did really well for me. I would LOVE to bring them into my current BCG save, but its a matter of cost. I don't mind that they are WEXXV true blood and that has connotations. But they are solid workers who do well, and unless you want to be super-strict in your interpretation of Black Canvas puro purity.... they would add something for fans.
  11. So just ran into something that felt like a bug but not sure. So figured I would ask. Started a save with BCG, playing as Maeda as owner. GCG comes in for a number of workers right away. I have in previous saves been able to keep Okamoto, baby Taku, and Tanyu Toshusai by counter-offering GCG and offering more. I've managed to keep all three in most previous attempts, with Okamoto and Taku becoming loyal, but Toshusai doesn't (age). But this time, I offered all three new deals on Monday, Week 1, January. GCG offers Okamoto and Taku on Tuesday so I counter. On Wednesday, I get notifications that GCG offered a deal to Tanyu and another notification saying he accepted. Same day. No chance to counter-offer. I've never seen that and it struck me as strange.
  12.
So the in-game help might answer this but don't have the game in front of me to verify.

Running a regional company without a HUGE amount of money in Japan. It doesn't have a dojo. I typically have new worker generation on the highest level, at least for a time, as I like random workers and there are a lot of free pics available. In previous saves, there is at least one new worker generated as a free agent or thru a non-affiliated dojo once every 2 or 3 months that looks like signing up. But as a traditional Japanese puro company, its really nice to have "true born" workers who come thru the dojo system. Especially with the tsunami, it will be awhile before I have a reasonable sum to throw around to open the dojo at a decent level. But is there any point to opening a dojo at the 5% or 10% caliber? The quality of the dojo impacts the chances of generating better quality workers, but would one of that low caliber ever bring thru reasonable prospects?

Gonna assume lol

I ended up starting over and made it a few months once again. Got a bit frustrated with having to be so careful with who gets any sort of push (basically gotta be loyal) and waiting to lose every midcarder or higher worker who is at all talented. Funakoshi is a true MVP and can pull a strong grade with a with almost anyone, but his popularity didn't move at all. I know its just a matter of time til it does, but it was still a bit frustrating. One thing I did notice is who CGC targets first does vary save to save. so you can't even really plan on "I expect to lose these three" because you might lose three others. Or those three but just not where you expect.

I ended up wanting to try something other than puroresu, so I save jumped to the SWF (two different periods) and am right back looking at a puro save again. I started up with Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods, because the financial freedom is appealing and I quite enjoy the super juniors. Especially creating new ones. But.... the smaller roster and simplicity of BCG also appeals. Not sure which direction I'll go for sure.

  14.
Been in a total save bounce mode for a bit. TCW. SWF. SWF 2005. TCW 2005. Burning Hammer. BCG. But PGHW is one company I've never really spent any time with. Perhaps its time to change that and give them a bit of a run out. 90s All Japan and 00s Noah are my puro jam, so the connection alone does intrigue me some.

The possible financial concerns after the tsunami worries me a bit. I've seen the AI crash and burn PGHW within a year or so of it. And I'm not the most careful with finances at the best of times, so....

Would probably do similar to Jon and want to add a junior heavyweight division. Not super juniors but hard-hitting juniors with just a bit of flying. Can add a second tournament, more titles, etc.

  15.

You do realize we would be able to skip the matches? And it wouldn't be WMMA's engine per se, but a version reworked for wrestling. It would be awesome.

My concern with this idea is similar to my concern with adding some other requested features in the past. Notably Auto-Booker, which was added and while imperfect, works better than I expected. But basically, the amount of time and effort it would take to make it really worthwhile.

Adding it in a basic way is kinda useless. If there are only a few different match layouts/descriptions, it would really just be like what EWR provided and no one will pay much attention. To be of real interest and value, it would have to be able to present logical match flow, but also be situational and contextually accurate. The layout of a match for the WWE is not the same as ROH, which is different from New Japan, which is different from New Japan 15 years ago, which is different from a faux-puro indy match, which is different from an indy spot-fest, etc. As cool as it would be to see the matches laid out, as soon as it didn't fit what we expect based on the product types, we would be complaining. Not just a matter of having all the different moves and sequences, but the layout presenting them in a sequence we expect / accept. "Hard to code / get right" is a bit of a lame reason, but that's kind what it comes down to. Not that I don't think Adam could do it, but just the hour it would probably take.... I'd rather see other features get that time and effort.

Considering the fact that the Titanic is mostly known for being a catastrophic disaster? I understand that it was a big ship but it's mostly known for sinking into the ocean nowadays.

It's like calling your new airline the Hindenburg express.

Not really the same at all. Titanic is a commonly-used word, which also happened to be given as a name to a ship once upon a time, 105 years ago or so. If Titanic wasn't used as an English word outside of reference to the ship or the disaster, then maybe.....

Maybe others had the same immediate connection when they saw the word Titanic used as a sizing label, but I honestly didn't.

I usually would name the WCW something like WCW Maple Leaf Tour buts really just another event. I would have to be careful where it takes place, though.

But yes, its an A show. The upside to that is that it will grow you company popularity in that region, not just the worker popularity. The downside is that you have ensure the show is good enough to so. But if your popularity isn't that high there, its not typically problematic. I could headline the WCW one with a main eventer against a midcarder, or two upper midcarders facing off. Can just put three tag matches on there to build tag experience. It was quick and easy booking.

As a smaller company every show you make will impact your finances, so you need to keep a track on that.

Good point. I was doing it as a Cult-sized company that made money pretty easily. Everyone was under Written contracts so working another show was minimal added costs.

  19.

I was thinking of using it to get worker popularity in the new region and when I get enough, do some A shows and see if I can get high enough for a TV contract.

Another thing you can try - weekly "tour" shows in those regions. I do this often in the 2K1 WCW Lives mod to gain popularity in Canada, because the starting popularity levels aren't enough to get Nitro on there. They aren't broadcast anywhere so even if its pulling a C grade or something, its enough to grow the popularity of the company there as well as the workers involved, and you can a 1 hour show with just a couple of matches.

  20.

I know B shows don't increase Company popularity, but if I do B shows in a new territory will it increase the popularity of the wrestlers that perform in the show in that territory?

SM is correct. The popularity gains are still popularity gains.

One of my favorite "tricks" with TEW2016 is the low popularity mechanic and development talent. For workers who have very low or no popularity, just being on events for the main roster will see their popularity shoot up quickly. So borrowing developmental talent for B shows is an easy way to do it. Even if they are losing to main roster talent, or appearing in angles. It helps out the child promotion because having more over talent is a good thing for them, and it makes the worker more ready to debut on the main roster. I've done this a lot with WCW talent on the WCW Lives mod, where young talent like Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson start with very very low popularity.
