  1. So the first save came to an end mid-way through February. Going to start over and slightly alter the approach I take. Not massively and significantly, but a few tweaks. I typically run what amounts to a test save to really get a handle on the company. I was enjoying booking the tours, though. The spreadsheet I put together - based on Derek's - is pretty slick and I like the structure that booking 4 or 5 Grand Prix matches gives, as its pretty easy to fill in the rest after that. I did open a subscription broadcaster wit medium coverage in Japan and Tiny coverage in three other regions. Cost a mere 23.5m and left the company just barely above zero in the bank, which is definitely not ideal. That would allow the company to show tour events on the network, along with the child company content, so it would grow the company abroad. Maybe even faster than just showing the big events. Still undecided on the best approach with the broadcaster, but I think I will wait longer on the new save. Maybe build up the bank account for a bit longer before I focus on the international growth.

Going to open just one child company, with a size split, instead of two separate ones. Saves a bit of money and I can sign fewer developmental talent.

Creating new characters is something I've really come to enjoy. I spent way too much time picking out the new American Optimus. Black Cobra II and others would be fun to pick out a swell. Who do you have as DEII and SSII?

  2. <p>So a rather odd, specific question that I will be able to check myself before too long. But since I can't check yet, I thought I would ask. Started a save with Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods and switched it back to a touring schedule. First tour is in February. Tour shows are not broadcast, but I wonder if there is the option to pick a broadcaster? If you set up a weekly event for a non-touring promotion (roughly simulating a house show), the game treats it as a PPV-like event and you get the choice of broadcasters. But I have a feeling a touring promotion makes those events a bit different....?</p><p> </p><p>

I was toying with opening up a broadcaster for Burning Hammer, giving them coverage in some regions outside of Japan. If its possible to broadcast tour events on that, it would help growth in regions like the US but have a feeling its not an option. Anyone?</p>

  3. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Derek B" data-cite="Derek B" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41359" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>For my child companies I've got them mostly set up with titles to emulate the weight split but I don't think I've got them all set to have an actual weight split. At some point in the future, probably once I've expanded my own network to cover Japan and give my child companies more exposure there, I plan to invite the various champions of the various companies to be part of the appropriate tournaments. I've also got lots of women in development too with divisions in several companies so that my alliance can promote women's wrestling and if anyone looks to become a particularly massive star I've got an avenue to get them on to my shows. I'm also tempted to repeat something I did in a CV97 with my own created company where I integrated the women as long as they could meet the size requirements. This was mostly for 5SSW's top 4 of Sensational Ogiwara, Thunder Hike, Crusher Ichihara and Kit Hatoyama. Kit, Thunder and Ogiwara came in as a masked Junior trio that tore the division a new one with their talents... and Crusher came in planning to unmask them and destroy the myth that women can't be as good as men. It was a fun story, though I never got to finish it as I lost momentum on that game somewhere in low cult... <p> </p><p> It does vary significantly on which companies can survive. If PGHW had stayed National in my save I'm sure they would have survived the tsunami, but when they fell to cult I swooped in, released some workers they didn't need and soon they were making money again. I can rely on them to add at least a million to me every month they tour now, which is nice. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> GCG probably would have survived in my game too if they hadn't lost their TV deal... they had a bunch of written contracts and were only putting on one show a month essentially multiplying their workers costs by a factor of 4 or 5 for no reason. Silly Kudo... it's almost like he was secretly working with BHOTWG all along... which is something I have Mabuchi Furusawa thinking Kudo was doing as a way to run his father's promotion out of business once and for all. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> As for the touring talents... I've actively and deliberately gotten some of the loyal talents from other companies to be more over. It gives them better shows, helps other talents to get better and helps them to make a little more from attendance as those companies grow. I've not actually seen any of those workers leave their favoured companies as a result either, leading to some very over indy stars. Funakoshi and Musashi have been the biggest successes as a result of this, which has really helped my child BCG who they both also work for. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I think I ran 2 shows a week most of the time early on, but now I tend to run 3 a week for most of the year. It depends what I need really, though I think the schedule is fairly well worked out now for my tournaments and whatnot. The final 3 month tour is the Kitozon Cup, so I can have fewer shows there just by adding more tournament matches to the shows. Though the last couple of weeks there are basically all headlined by PPV level main events as the tournament gets down to the big guns. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Got a couple of weeks in, but not far enough yet to run the first show. Figuring out the participants in the Grand Prix, deciding on stables, etc. And signing talent, both for the developmental and for the main card. I think the toughest decision so far was when I signed up California Love Machine and assigned him to Fire Kingdom Pro Wrestling, I gave him the American Optimus II character but I debated between giving him the same mask pic as American Optimus or the Winter Solider-esque one. Went with the latter but still not sure it was the right call lol</p><p> </p><p> Main thing I'm not sure about at this point is how many workers I should sign for each of the developmental territories. I usually set them as child companies, so they can hire who they need. But they ALWAYS hire more, no matter how many workers are already there. And they tend to hire crap workers who get pushed, so figured I would go this direction. </p><p> </p><p> The temptation is to open up a broadcaster pretty quick. I always want to open one domestically so I can give the child companies some coverage. That helps with the prospects gaining popularity. But I think growing Burning Hammer itself outside of Japan is going to be important too. So opening one up with coverage in the US and Mexico and Canada and putting events on there might be best the approach, as Derek's mentioned. I did wonder if I could put regular tour shows on the "network" or whether they were excluded from broadcast.... At the same time, hoarding money for the economy crash isn't a bad idea, either.</p>
  4. So I opened up two developmental promotions at the smallest possible size, based on a touring schedule. I typically open the up as child companies, so they are "independent" to hire additional staff. But I get annoyed when they hire fair poor workers with a bit overness, who then auto-push to be their top talent. Not a huge issue, but I was looking to avoid it by setting them as Developmental Territories. So they can't hire anyone additional. But I'm not sure how big the roster should be. I can go into the editor and set a company to be about the same size and see what it suggests, but is I'm not if there is an easier way to know if the developmental territory has an undersized roster...?
  5. I cancelled the Pop Network! TV deal with TCW on day one and started a deal with USA Sports 1. I wasn't able to start Saturday Night Showcase because I imagine Total Wrestling counts as a "debuting TV show". Nevertheless, that was literally day 1 of the game so January, Monday Week 1, 2016. It's now April, Tuesday Week 2, 2016. Shouldn't the 3 whole months be done by now, because I'm still getting the block from starting it? Am I missing something obvious?

Maybe the full three months starts from the first full month afterward? So because the change over took place in January - no matter when in January - the first of the three full months is February. Which means beginning of May is when you can get a new one? Only way it makes sense to me....?

I feel like WLW are the only ones with a chance. If you make their guys popular they'll have to pay them more and it'll just sink them faster. Not sure you have to worry about them. And if you did, I'm not sure there's any harm. I don't think you have to worry about competition from anyone in Japan except, again, WLW.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Their survival of the financial crisis varies save to save. I've run test soaks where several Japanese companies are wiped out within 18 months and others where almost everyone lasts past 2020. </p><p> </p><p> I'm not worried about competition, so much. Rather, I'm thinking that if the collapse doesn't wipe out their finances, and I don't make the worker I'm hoping to steal to make a Burning Hammer star too popular for them to resign, I'm basically blocking myself from being able to get that worker exclusively. </p><p> </p><p> But yeah, I'm overthinking it. The ones that can be useful, I'll bring in on tour deals and see how it plays out.</p>
  7. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Derek B" data-cite="Derek B" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41359" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I also use OpenOffice, so I guess the formatting issue was probably between myself and google drive at some point. There are some funky bit of formatting in some sections though anyway just so that I can fit everything on my laptop screen, it's not the largest but it is the most convenient most of the time. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> For most of my tournaments I generally haven't picked a winner beforehand as injuries are very good at keeping me on my toes. The first winner was Kinnojo Horri for me, but that was only halfway deliberate once I was a good chunk of the way through the tournament and I saw he was performing quite well. By then I also had his history with Kikkawa to consider and his loyalty to me, so I knew I was on to a winner there. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> As a general rule, when I'm setting up the tournament I make a rough list of people by stable affiliations and then try to spread them across the blocks to get pretty few matches between them. Unless I'm going for a particular story.... I think the first year I had all three members of NEO in the same block and had them get one win each to present them as being on an equal level with each other. I've also had Heihachiro Sakai go up against all the rest of the heavyweights from the Kikkawa Army (except Kikkawa) as a way to hype that he is the new star of the group (that was over 3 years of tournament). With my super juniors I had my 4 Pillars (Elemental, Sensational Dragon, MYSTIC Dragon and Marihito Masuke) spread evenly the first year with 2 in each block, then the following year they were all in the same block to help build Velocidad in the other block. He then beat his Marihito in the final, beat Elemental for the title and defended against Sensational Dragon while MYSTIC went away to reinvent himself... he'll beat all four of them eventually (as will KC Glenn too) but it's not going to come easily for either of them to get the rest of the wins they need. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> If I were you, I'd go with the touring schedule. You can always up the Mainstream in your product a little and add some more angles if you want to feel more Western, but even in canon BHOTWG only made the switch at the end of December. At least, going by some Employment Histories anyway, as some people were touring until then. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Plus, it's great to have people to job that you can bring back right away if you want. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Though I did find that having people on the main show too often led to them getting very popular for jobbers, which made it hard to introduce new talent. That's why I'm running dark matches now for my young lions, to keep them down while they are young.</p><p> </p><p> I opened my Mexican child company because there are actually quite a few talents out there who I eventually wanted to bring to Japan, plus I wanted a company that I could have with a focus on smaller workers in general to help build my junior division. It helped that I know NJPW send a lot of workers there to learn too, and the whole Dragon Gate stuff was something I know a little about but nowhere near enough. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> There aren't any particular benefits to opening an company outside your area as the region restrictions are still in place and you can't borrow the PPA/written workers from a child company... I just like doing it. Though now that I am International size I have got past those pesky restrictions... just a shame I had to pillage 21CW to do it.</p><p> </p><p> Hope that helps. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Very much helps. Thanks. </p><p> </p><p> Have moved forward in the save yet, but getting everything set up. Opened those two developmental companies - Dragon Pro in Kanto and Fire Kingdom in Hokkaido. I decided to basically go with Middleweight and above at Dragon Pro and lightweight and under (so, likely Super Juniors) at Fire Kingdom. The products are both adjusted a bit from the base Burning Path product. I was going to have both heavyweights and Super Juniors at Dragon but concerned that having a weight split activated will make for a massive roster. I figure this works, and I won't end up with heavy-SJ mix tag teams as much. </p><p> </p><p> Right now, just deciding who to hire for development and who to bring onto the main roster. Biggest signings, in terms of cost, are going to be some quality road agents. Want some good ones for the two developmentals as well. I remember what you said about announcers & color commentators, but it doesn't look like there are better options available off the start. Might send the youngest & worst of the broadcasters on the starting roster down to developmental for a spell. </p><p> </p><p> Makes sense on the Mexican child promotion. Might open one up at some point, but spending $200K on the first two is enough right now. Gotta watch the finances a bit, to prepare for any kind of emergency. Never know when a natural disaster could hit. Tornado, earthquake, tsunami....</p><p> </p><p> My two big decisions....</p><p> </p><p> Think I mentioned this dilemma before, but debating whether I should bring in workers who are loyal to other promotions but would do a touring contract. Might just end up making the worker more popular and helping BCG, Exodus, etc. </p><p> </p><p> And.... I've always used Kenta Kobashi as a base for how I view Nakasawa. But I also did that for Koshiro Ino. Now they are in the same company. Who gets to be my Kobashi?</p><p> </p><p> Edit - and third question... meant to check the save you posted, Derek, but keep forgetting. Were you running 2 weekly tour shows at first, or 3?</p>

  10. <p>Slightly weird question, but its something I've never experimented with. Starting up a Burning Hammer save. My standard approach with a company with size and money is to open up one or two developmental/child companies at the smallest possible size. Touring schedule and same product as the main company. Stock with 18-20 prospects. Watch the talent develop and the company grow. Good fun. </p><p> </p><p>

But with Burning Hammer.... I'm a bit leery because of how "heavy" the default product is. Puro, as a rule, means a lot of physical wear. Realistic. I could avoid a touring schedule for these companies, but I find that helps with skill development, company growth, and tag team development. So altering the product to be a bit less demanding is something I'm considering. I could even go toward a more western product. But a concern I have is whether the product will alter how the workers develop. Obviously with a puro product, I would like to see the Puroresu skill and Technical skills improve. Would a non-Puro product impact that? Anyone experimented with it?</p>

  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Derek B" data-cite="Derek B" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41359" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>There is definitely a lot of fun to be had with BHOTWG. Koshiro Ino in particular always stands out to me... he came up through the ranks in BHOTWG and is the protege of Burning legend Haruki "Hooded" Kudo, who saw so much potential in him. He then made a move to TCW for a very long term excursion, somewhere Kudo had wrestled before too, and tried to emulate his mentor's successes internationally but somehow never quite made it to the too... during this same tie Kudo moved on to GCG, who had always been BHOTWG's rivals due largely to the internal company politics and this left Koshiro with an agonising choice.... stay in the US, where he would be considered something of a failure due to his inability to crack the top of the company in the only place where it would really matter... or return home to Japan where he was faced with the choice of staying loyal to his mentor or to the company that trained him and invested so much in his development.... the choice would have been agonising for him, though we know he chose BHOTWG in the end where he teamed with two other men of a similar age who had failed to accomplish as much as had been expected of them in Yasuhiko Taira and Yasunobu Masuno. Together they formed NEO... who were far from new, being in their mid 30s and having such limited success between them in the top of any company. IF it weren't for Koshiro's time decline in my game I had some big plans for him but that changed and Taira kinda took over his role at the top.... but I could see all of that being explored a lot and being used to fuel them as a group that hates the status quo... obvious rivalries with the Kiikkawa Army and the guy who surpassed them (Kinnojo Horri) could easily be the focus from there. At least that's one of my takes on that side of things.<p> </p><p> The monthly summary side of things works well for BHOTWG... if you are doing a touring company then a lot of the matches should be fairly boring and predictable in terms of results and what they are building to, meaning that the big shows are the only ones that need much attention. It's why I mostly plan for those and the tournaments can fill in the rest fairly logically. As for development companies, I opened my Mexican one to mostly focus on smaller workers and was lucky to get PGHW to help me develop local popularity and more of my heavyweight side of things. It can also be a good way to help your tag teams develop with a bit more focus too, which is good for helping to get some decent results. BHOTWG has surprisingly few good teams at the start, so rebuilding that division and using stables was one of my goals to help with that.</p><p> </p><p> There should be some hastily assembled notes on the first sheet of the tournament sheet. But basically, I run all the matches listed for each number in one night for that block. So Block A will have 5 matches set with a 1, and from there I just turn it blue for a win (based in the names in Column A) and red for a loss. Winner gets 2 points, draw gets 1, 0 for a loss. I'm no wizard with sheets so it's a bit of book keeping but you can also add match grades next to each result to see how well people are performing. I like to give the best performers a title shot even if they don't win as a reward for being tournament MVP, though I have sometimes forgotten to do that... most recently forgetting to extend Hyosuke Kokan's contract and only noticing with 7 days to go.... by time he made a decision he had left the company. Oh well. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> The sheets opened for me in Google docs in a weird way, then when I saved them and opened them it was with Open Office, so I think some formatting went bye-bye. That's kinda what I thought the coding was, so makes perfect sense. Thanks! I'm no spreadsheet whiz either, but how you have it formatted is pretty much what I was considering, so glad to know it works. </p><p> </p><p> Ino is a favorite from his time with TCW. I always intended to turn him into a star with Total but never took a save deep enough to really do it. The connection to Kudo, the tag team he had with Toshusai, the NEO stable.... so many interesting and easy narratives you can turn into storylines for him. Ino might be the first Grand Prix winner. Thinking I will tease Toshusai being inducted into NEO, then either being rejected to create a long-term feud with Ino, or possibly him rejecting them. </p><p> </p><p> Going to run the Kitozon Summit Grand Prix right off the start. Likely 2 blocks of 10. Haven't picked a winner yet, and may just book it and see who comes out of each block with the most points. Might go footie-style - 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for the loss. Should make it easier for the top guys to stand out, and if someone popular needs to not win, a couple of time-limit draws knocks them back quickly. </p><p> </p><p> Time Decline can be pretty crushing. Much like real puro companies, plenty of top talent are aging, and the schedule and style don't help. Even if guys don't start on Time Decline, someone in their late 30s can hit that point at... any point. Trying to look that as an opportunity to create new stars rather than a game-killing surprise. </p><p> </p><p> Started up a couple of test saves. Started one last night that will probably be the save I go forward with. No one too major on Time Decline to start. Ieseda and Okazaki are the biggest two names. I don't think either would be getting a major push regardless, so hiding them mostly in multi-man tags doesn't seem too hurtful. </p><p> </p><p> Still debating the switch to a touring schedule, for some reason. Toyed with the thought of keeping a "western" schedule and the weekly TV, then adding a couple of "tour events" per week. But that feels a bit cheat-y. Plus no breaks seems a bit harsh with the puro product. And I like touring contracts. So the switch just seems like the best bet. </p><p> </p><p> Settled on using Dragon Pro Wrestling and Fire Kingdom Pro Wrestling, both from the ThunderVerse, as the child companies I will open. Each will get around 18-20 wrestlers. Fire Kingdom will probably be Super Junior only, and both will be tag team heavy. As you say, Derek, being able to bring in experienced teams helps. Was trying to decide last night WHERE in Japan to open them. I would prefer to avoid regional battles for them so best to put them where isn't already a lot of companies. Kanto only has BH so adding one of them there makes sense. As I mentioned before, I am still deciding on whether the products should be a bit "lighter", so I don't wear out youngsters while still in development. Maybe even a more western product, something like TCW, that would be product equals popularity. </p><p> </p><p> Already think its gonna be awful fun coming up with new characters for talent, especially the Super Juniors. And stables. </p><p> </p><p> One thing I hadn't really considered that much was opening up a child company outside of Japan. I know there is the Burning Hammer USA logo. But very much intrigued by one in Mexico. Dig the Dragon Gate parallels there. So does having the child company abroad change anything notable? I assume I can still only hire talent who are set to work in Japan, even if the child company is based elsewhere? Or does that change who you can hire and function as a workaround to regional availability?</p>

Someone with greater skills, like yourself, would likely be very much up to the task. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Lol. I've toyed with the idea of a Burning Hammer project of some type in the past. I think it could have some really interesting narratives on the tradition of the company versus trying to maintain the traditions, appease diverse groups of fans, looking to expand internationally, etc. </p><p> </p><p> Whenever I'm looking at a fictional company, I enjoy spending time looking at the "look and feel" of the company. Their presentation. What makes them unique. Always felt like Burning Hammer provides more room to play with this than any other Cverse company, TBH. USPW could be interesting now too. How to present it would really depend on the type of project. I tend toward "monthly summary" rather than show by show, so you can explain elements that are relevant to your narrative in some way, without having to be overly detailed or explain everything. One reason I tend to look at real world stuff as inspiration is that its easier, but it also keeps you from having to feel in ALL the blanks using imagination. </p><p> </p><p> I've been checking out the tournament tracking sheets you posted. Mind explaining your coding system a bit? I will probably end up doing something similar and have my own codes / shorthand, but figured I would see how you are doing it and whether I can steal any ideas lol</p><p> </p><p> Adding several more tournaments, heavy use of stables, and switching back to a touring schedule are all in the plans. Will probably open two developmental companies at the smallest size. Will probably give them a touring product but maybe a bit less strenuous than the default Burning Hammer approach, just to reduce wear and tear. Might make one Super Junior only. Spent way too much time already eyeballing possible prospects and signings. Like figuring out which American to hire as American Optimus II - settled on California Love Machine as the most likely candidate. Debating whether to bring in the young Japanese talent who are loyal to other companies like BCG and Exodus or not, since I can't sign them to exclusive deals yet. Hiring them for a tour or two could bring up their popularity which might make them too popular for their current companies, so I can steal them. Or it might just help those companies by building them new stars. Decisions decisions....</p>

Attitude era style entrances with pyro and stuff for those it would suit, the best music possible so that everyone sounds like a megastar, super HD quality everything, outfits that 70s glam rock stars would be envious of... it's Japan too, so you know that if something is being done it's going to be done to the most extreme level of awesomeness imaginable. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This. So very much this. I've spent way too much time imagining the spectacle that a company like Burning Hammer presents in its shows. Or big shows, at least. I use a lot of the same ideas for other fictional companies with size and money, but it somehow just fits a bit better with Burning Hammer, because of the Japanese traditions and the epic imagery than BHOTWG uses throughout. </p><p> </p><p> I look at the production values that Pride Fighting Championship and K1 had, or even some really big boxing matches. I look at the traditional ceremonies surrounding sumo wrestling. Mix in some what current companies like New Japan and WWE do, as well as some arena rock show flavor. Not just a big set, but a big set with meaning. The big stage area with a wide ramp that isn't just a ramp - its got LED screens and pyro along the side. It represents the "Burning Path" that the wrestlers must walk to compete in the Burning Hammer ring. </p><p> </p><p> I imagine a big show opening with some elaborate ceremony. Some torch lighting thing to symbolize the lighting of the Burning Path. Giant drums. Ceremonial dress, maybe even traditional armor to symbolize the coming battles. Maybe a fighter introduction ceremony, like before sumo and some Pride shows. Pryo. Then a good old fashioned laser hologram show of dragons fighting above the ring, before we get some unique match introductions - something like Pride's Crazy Voice Lady. I think spending time thinking on these aspects is part of why I've mulled Burning Hammer diary projects lol</p>
  15. Derek's epic post has me mulling a Burning Hammer save again. I love having fun with the epic imagery they use. And while a '97 ECW game is fun, counting pennies is most definitely not.

One small trick that someone mentioned a long while ago that I don't think I've seen in the thread.... When starting the save and picking your Avatar's User Skills, you don't need Creative. So push those points into Motivating as that helps with the in-ring. Unless you plan on using a bunch of gimmicks. This won't make a massive impact on your grades, but a small bit helps if you are getting hit with penalties like Time Decline.

The nice thing about modding something like this, if you did decide to, is that its fantasy so skills are all relative. Easy way to do it would be find the roughly equivalent "real GLOW" wrestler from the Mod Squad and give the "GLOW show" wrestler similar skills. If you were gonna do that but wanted to release it, would want get any okay from the Mod Squad as it would be pretty much the same as importing workers.</p>

It would be in any earlier mods as a future company. And I think it was done by 1991.</p>
  19. I'm just curious as to if the T-verse U.S. is a bit closer to the C-verse Mexico or Japan. It makes little sense to me how a Regional company will need to grind for 2 years or more, while a Small company can get a deal in 6 months or less.

I haven't messed around with it, to be honest. I just looked at the available broadcasters. At least one regional company has a TV deal (which covers three areas). There are also a handful of single-region free-to-air broadcasters. You won't make any money but you will get growth. Pretty much what I meant by it won't make you rich. I'm not certain if they would carry a Small company, or just a regional one.

  20. So, I've become intrigued by the Thunderverse, and I have some questions before I make a decision to dive in or not.

    1) Women's wrestling- What are some of the notable companies that have women wrestlers, and who are some of the more interesting talents?

    2) Broadcasting- Specifically, do U.S. companies that are Cult or smaller have the brown end of the stick the way that they do in the Cornellverse?

    1. There are two women's only companies in the US - American Women's Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Amazon. All Japan Josh in Japan. There are also a number of companies with women's divisions. Jess Hart is probably the best of the ladies - she #29 on the Power 500. Jamilia Rose, Chelsea Lane, Mai-Li Kato and Yuri Yamanoue are a few other. Pretty sure the Tverse has one of the deepest and most developed women's wrestling scenes of any mod.

    2. There are options. They are not options that are going to make you rich in a hurry or give you national level coverage, but there are options to get you on TVs. Being at small might limit your options a bit more.

  21. I really start diggin the ThunderVerse and enjoy playin AWF. Only the backstage morale is in the dumps and is bothering me. Bonuses are killing my financial situation and it's like I'm losing 5% per week.

Who are easy to meddle to friends? I only managed to create a strong friendship between Immortal Warrior and Casey Skym.

Its not that individuals are "easier" to get to become friends. Meddling is fairly random. It does seem to work better if they are at a similar popularity level - always seem to have better success with two lower card workers or two upper card talent than a lower card and a main eventer. And obviously, it makes more sense to target more positive personality types.

I might end up opening a second dev as well but I'm holding back for now. <p> </p><p> I couldn't help but to push Shockwave to 2hrs and it still isn't really enough to do everything I want to do. </p><p> </p><p> I need to give Theo an actual program at some point but for now Aftershock is very much a B-show in terms of content with few week to week stories until I start to get really comfortable with the roster. </p><p> </p><p> I enjoy the Dolla Club too much to disband it. I don't think they've got meh members aside from Mo & Tyrannus being extremely negative at the start. Tyrannus can easily grow thanks to being a menace work and Avalanche/Mo Fury perform like upper mids and better than someone like Patriot at the start. Plus the menace <3 </p><p> </p><p> Giroux is early TD so hes still amazing, arguably the best guy on my roster even with the TD penalty. I think he will get some names to his side at the PPV to help him go over Patriot & Warrior, I'm not 100% sure who yet. </p><p> </p><p> Adrienne's a goddess. Her, Mariana, Alexis, Rosa and Jess Hart will be amazing. </p><p> </p><p> I'd rather get them all clean than drop it to a lower level. Almost tempted to bring it to extreme level. The only one I turn off is soft drugs because I have no problems with that. El Angel, the newly crowned TV Champion just got suspended for it (he was mad I suspended him and has seen his personality get worse), Angelo Justice joined him on the suspension line. He had a mini feud with George O'Neil going to decide El Angel's new challenger haha. So I guess it's time for a TV title tournament <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Beautiful Bryce's new partner is Joe Havanna. Joe is super charismatic and I had nothing for him. </p><p> </p><p> My PPV is looking mostly the same as yours. Stone/Fire, Giroux&Partner/Warrior&Patriot, Specialist vs. Bryce/Havanna, Adrienne vs. Alexis vs. Marianna vs. Rosa. Possible a Trillion Dollar Belt defense since TV title will be out of commision and either a Twin Towers or Dolla Club tag match.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> FAW does already have a pretty big roster. That was part of why I figured it would be good to switch it to a touring schedule. More shows. </p><p> </p><p> Eye-candy matches honestly go against my preferences in a big way. But they are awful potent, and I figure I can convert them to be more serious wrestling as time goes on.</p>
  23. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Hazemore" data-cite="Hazemore" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41194" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>i want money and pop. rn i hv 79 pop american, 66 pop canada and low everywhere else and for what I am it seems like sub and comm are the most popular. also, I read somewhere that you can make accidental stars, how does this happen?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> So you just want everything lol. The in-game descriptions of them lay out the advantages and disadvantages of each type if you look. And again, what you trying to do in a certain area has to be considered. Subscription might be great for you for the US because of your popularity there, but less effective elsewhere. Quite simply, how many fans are going to pay for a subscription for a company they aren't already a fan of? So a subscription based broadcaster isn't going to make you more popular in other regions as fast as other types. </p><p> </p><p> As for your current PPV deals, those generally bring in a LOT of money so unless the broadcaster can replace that, I would hesitate to drop the existing deals. </p><p> </p><p> And as far as I'm aware ,"accidental" stars isn't an actual intended feature of the game or intentional mechanism. I'm guessing someone was talking about a worker getting over when not actually being pushed with that as the intent.</p>
  24. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Hazemore" data-cite="Hazemore" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41194" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>what is the best broadcaster? because some have said commercial, some subscription. also should i keep ppv deals for ppv's, or use my broadcaster?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> There is no "best". It depends on what your goal is. Are you wanting to build popularity? Make money? Balance those two things? You have to decide what you want to prioritize. If one of the options was simply "better" than all the others, there would be no point to having the other types in the game, really.</p>
