  1. TNA 2nd Anniversary Show PREVIEW!

For one that is missing, there's no spoiling an Anniversary show ;) Looking forward to the biggest event yet.

    #JusticeForSabin

Happy to have you along for the ride man. :)

And that goes for all of you reading. I appreciate all the comments, all the predictions and even those of you that read without commenting. This show marks 6 months in game for the diary and that feels like a landmark of sorts so I just wanted to let you all know that you're awesome.

    & on with the show!

    TNA 2nd Anniversary Show PREVIEW

    CARD SUBJECT TO CHANGE

    Saturday, Week 3, June 2004

    5Dd93kW.jpgE7LsnNA.jpg

With every ticket already sold, a crowd of over 14,000 will be on hand to celebrate our second anniversary and in the main event,
    ‘The Icon’ Sting
defends his TNA World Heavyweight Championship against
    ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles.
Both undefeated in singles competition so far this year, something will have to give in what is sure to be one of the biggest and best matches of the year.

    1krnXN5.jpgbe9VPZ7.jpgCKoNNP7.jpg

In our semi main event, the
    Commissioner Roddy Piper
will officiate the much anticipated rematch between
    Jeff Hardy
    and
    Jeff Jarrett.
Last time out, Jarrett emerged victorious thanks to Glenn Gilbertti, Don Callis and an NWA title belt shot to the face but this time, Piper has sworn harsh consequences for anybody that gets involved in the match. What will happen when all these combustible elements grace the squared circle?

    CpmZ5u4.jpgTxLgoZN.jpgQqgR1MK.jpg

    The issues between
    Raven
    and
    James Mitchell
started last year and show no sign of easing up any time soon. The Father of The Gathering thought he had closed this chapter when
    ‘The Monster’ Abyss
delivered Black Hole Slam onto a steel chair at Genesis but Raven returned and renewed the rivalry with The Gathering’s newest child. Inside Monsters Ball, it isn’t just about victory but survival.

    eGmVQ90.jpgHYSY58E.jpgQb3jWaG.jpg

    Veronica
has arrived in TNA Wrestling and immediately set her sights on establishing herself as the Queen of the Knockouts Division. Standing in her way is the formidable
    Cheerleader Melissa
, who has formed an alliance of some description with
    Daffney
. Who will claim the early bragging rights in this tempered clash?

    om5Q5zl.jpgSNw4cyy.jpgIauEHVQ.jpgffkCB49.jpg

Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton of the legendary Rock N Roll Express will be at the AutoZone Park to present the winners of the TNA World Tag Team Championship Tournament with their title belts. Standing in
    AMW
’s way is the new but strong duo of
    Kanyon & Mike Awesome.
The Big League may be a relatively fresh faction but having already earned the opportunity to claim championship gold, can they put down a marker on TNA Wrestling? Or will America’s Most Wanted put a challenging six months behind them?

    OTZENbd.jpgokVz2XW.jpg

After wrestling to a time limit draw and cancelling each other out in the #1 Contendership Four Way Shootout,
    CM Punk
    and
    Ron Killings
look to settle personal and professional issues alike when they meet in singles competition.

    k3s1yj3.jpgXvsec6G.jpgdDAo8Ei.jpgf2NC8Es.jpg

A late addition to the night’s proceedings but a wish granted nonetheless. Scott D’Amore wanted a match for Team Canada and he was given one when
    Legend & Kenny Omega
    were booked to face
    Jose & Joel Maximo
. With the first tag team champions being crowned tonight, one of these two teams could put themselves in strong contention to be the first challengers.

    S8Oxurp.jpgUqFoPNN.jpg

    D’Lo Brown
    wanted this match and
    Samoa Joe
was more than happy to accept his challenge. Thus far, nobody has posed much of a challenge to the ‘Samoan Submission Machine’ but if he underestimates his opponent tonight, he could well say goodbye to his early winning streak.

    VAA9JhW.jpg8fZamDv.jpgefPAsqO.jpgI1BEKdN.jpg

In the opening match of the evening,
    Christopher Daniels
defends his TNA X-Division Championship inside Ultimate-X 3. With two wires hanging overhead, the winner will have to fight off three rivals in order to claim their prize. As the self-proclaimed God of the Division, tonight could be make or break for the ‘Fallen Angel’.

  2. MLW Azteca #2 Card

    1. Matt Cross vs. Bestia 666

I think he wins pretty convincingly too.

    2. Trios Match: Gringo Loco, Laredo Kid, Zenshi vs. Los Parks (L.A. Park, El Hijo de L.A. Park, L.A. Park Jr.)

I don't know on this one but I figure Los Parks owe the trio for last week and they'll get some this week.

    3. Texano vs. ???

    Strong win to start off.

Bonus Question: Who will face Texano in his official Azteca debut? I don't have much idea but if Texano is winning strongly as I expect, Aramis can eat the loss.

    MLW Fusion #137 Card

    1. TJ Perkins and Lee Moriarty vs Davey Richards and Bu Ku Dao

Bu Ku Dao is eating the fall here.

    2. Tag Team Tournament: Von Erichs vs. Contra Unit (Mads Krugger, Ikuro Kwon)

They have to be strong contenders to go all the way in this.

    3. Jacob Fatu vs. Richard Holliday

You're not having the champion lose a non title match, surely? :p

  3. TNA Xplosion!

    D’Lo Brown vs. Sonny Siaki

Comments: I imagine Sonny will beat D'Lo eventually, but I'm not convinced that it will be here. Maybe in a rematch a few weeks down the road?

I may potentially do Siaki vs. D'Lo again, we'll see. Siaki is getting better all the time, I was very happy with his match performance of 51 against D'Lo, a far cry from the 43 he pulled versus Sting.

Last Chance Saloon - Winner Advances To Ultimate-X 3

Chris Sabin vs. Jason Cross vs. Jerrelle Clark vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Silas Young vs. Sonjay Dutt

Comments: I'm just gonna keep picking Chris Sabin until he wins a big match and I'll say I told you so.

Funnily enough, Chris Sabin was a last minute addition to the first qualifier because Low-Ki got really angry at losing to Dragon Kid even though he wasn't eating the fall. I went with Jerrelle because he's been really impressive in all his outings so far and he deserved the spotlight.

In a video package, we hear from a select group of analysts their opinion on the upcoming 2nd Anniversary Show main event.
    Mike Tenay
has followed Sting’s career for a number of years and he thinks ‘The Icon’ is delivering his career best work right now. He’s not sure anybody can defeat him provided he stays in his current form.
    Terry Taylor
works behind the scenes here in TNA Wrestling and says that nobody has worked harder to perfect their craft than AJ Styles. He’s the complete package of strength, agility, athleticism and it’s a matter of when, not if, he’s the TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

    Don West
says that AJ is the most spectacular wrestler he has ever seen but Sting is a legend of this industry. Whoever emerges victorious, he cannot wait to be ringside to witness it. Last but not least, we hear from
    Dusty Rhodes.
He knows what it takes to be the champion, you have to be the absolute best there iiiiis and so far that’s been the Stinger daddeh. But all good things must come to an end, this career renaissance for Sting won’t last forever and he expects AJ to push him to the limit. He can’t pick a winner but he hopes it’s clean and may the best man win.

These two have had their issues with one another for some time but they finally settled it here with Diamond proving he was right all along about G.G. being the weak link in Team Jarrett. After Gilbertti attempted the Chart Buster, Diamond countered it into the Gem Cutter and took home the W. There was no post-match assault nor any continuation of hostilities and Diamond stood tall as JB on commentary gave one last plug for tomorrow’s 2nd Anniversary Show.

Last Chance Saloon - Winner Advances To Ultimate-X 3

Chris Sabin vs. Jason Cross vs. Jerrelle Clark vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Silas Young vs. Sonjay Dutt

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

With Dragon Kid now ruled out of Ultimate-X 3 after last week’s post-match assault by the mysterious masked man, we kick off iMPACT with the six competitors who have so far lost their qualifying matches, each now blessed with the opportunity to punch their ticket to the 2nd Anniversary Show on Saturday. With the match to be decided by a single fall, it’s practically impossible to score a pinfall here and it’s not until 10 minutes have passed before the contest begins to take shape.

Sabin thinks he has this one wrapped up with the Iconoclast to Sonjay Dutt but Jason Cross breaks up the pinfall with a Shooting Star Press. This brings in the X-Division’s Real Man, hitting the Finlay Roll into the Handstand Arabian Press on young Jason but unfortunately for him, Jerry Lynn is on hand to break up the fall. He spikes Silas with the Cradle Piledriver and makes the pin but a sprawling Jerrelle Clark makes the save just half a count away from the 3. ‘Mr. 630’ is sent to the ropes but he handsprings back to center and spikes Lynn with a Cutter! Seizing his moment, Clark heads up top and for the first time on iMPACT, he nails the 630 Senton on to Jerry Lynn and pulls off the major upset!

A great moment for 28 year old

    Roddy Piper
watched the action and he instructed his assistant

    Scott D’Amore’s

After he had finished complaining about how people just seem to walk in without knocking these days, Piper offered Legend & Omega a match against Joel & Jose Maximo, The S.A.T.! Challenge accepted but Piper warned him that next he barges in, all he’ll get is a knuckle sandwich and D’Amore scurried away before he raised Piper’s ire any further.

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

Dragon Kid’s mystery attacker is a stoic but deadly figure and he makes routine work of the young Kenny King. He takes his time, assaulting him with a barrage of blows to the back and neck area, softening him up further after a Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker. With King writhing in pain to his lower back, the masked rudo hooks him, deadlifts him off the canvas and plants him with a Release Powerbomb to pick up the W.

In a pre-taped promo, we get a sit down interview from
    AJ Styles
about this TNA World Heavyweight Championship opportunity this upcoming Saturday. Spliced between footage of the ‘Phenomenal One’ in action, Styles starts by talking about his respect for
    Sting.
He flies the flag for TNA Wrestling, he’s a great champion and there’s nobody else AJ would rather wrestle on the 2nd Anniversary Show than ‘The Icon’. He’s a man’s man and he commands the total respect of the locker room.

But he’s not Mr. TNA, AJ Styles is Mr. TNA. He admits that at Genesis, he was frustrated to see that Sting and Jeff Jarrett were hand picked to be the first two contenders for the title, he thinks that everybody on the roster should have been given an opportunity but he’s going to use that anger to drive him when he steps between the ropes to face off against the Stinger. He’s undefeated so far this year and there’s no better stage to prove how phenomenal he is than in the main event for the richest prize in all of TNA Wrestling.

Ever the observant man, Don West notices Daffney is ringside for Cheerleader Melissa and tells us that the two of them have formed an alliance of some sort. The ‘Scream Queen’ gives instructions and encourages Melissa throughout, coming close to actually screaming when Allison kicks out of a Fisherman’s Suplex.

    After this move,
    Veronica

To her credit, Melissa doesn’t get distracted and although Danger kicks out of a Forward Russian Legsweep, she’s hooked, decked and put away with the Kudo Driver shortly after.

All she’s doing is reminding the Cheerleader that she has a match on Saturday against the one who brings victory and she achieves that with a short staredown, sizing her up before nodding and leaving the two of them alone in the ring. Still, it’s noticeable that she’s spoiled the moment somewhat and both Daff and Melissa stare at Veronica as she walks back up the entrance ramp.

Raven, Ron Killings & BG James vs. The Gathering (Brother Julio, Bateman & Northcutt)

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

He doesn’t play well with other people does Raven and in this match particularly, it’s simply the case of the enemy of his enemy being his friend. Julio, Bateman and Northcutt make this competitive but once Raven begins to reluctantly co-operate with The Kru, this match is all one way traffic. Brother Julio troubles them after hitting the Vertebreaker on BG James but Raven takes care of him with the Raven Effect DDT and ‘The Truth’ pins Bateman after the Truth Conviction.

Raven doesn’t back down and waits patiently for the showdown against his Anniversary Show opponent but it’s not forthcoming because

re-enter the ring and jump him from behind. The trio take Raven down and leave him weak for Abyss, ‘The Monster’ delivering the Black Hole Slam to leave Father Mitchell positively delighted.

TNA Tag Team Championship Tournament Semi-Final

America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Storm) vs. The New Franchise (Shane Douglas & Michael Shane w/ Madison)

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

This is a rematch from iMPACT #9 but with Monty Brown conspicuous in his absence, it’s a much different match. It’s certainly more even, AMW were relatively dominant the first time around but Douglas & Shane are a better drilled team now and they’re able to stop Harris & Storm from gaining too much momentum in the early going. They figure that the ‘Cowboy’ is the weak link, isolating him and working quick tags.

    IauEHVQ.jpgffkCB49.jpg

    As they do their business,
    Kanyon
    and
    Mike Awesome
come down the entrance ramp to see who they’ll meet in Saturday’s final. Despite The New Franchise having the advantage, neither Douglas’s Belly to Belly or Shane’s Picture Perfect Elbow Drop can put James Storm away and they come to rue their lack of killer instinct when he makes the hot tag to the ‘Wildcat’. Although Harris comes in like a house on fire, he’s stopped dead in his tracks courtesy of the Sweet Shane Music.

Shane has another one for Storm (now the legal man) but he catches Shane’s foot and counters the move into a Lungblower. After sighting that Douglas and Harris have occupied one another on the outside, Storm brings a weary Michael Shane back to a vertical base and busts out the Eye of the Storm to take America’s Most Wanted to Saturday’s final.

We heard from AJ Styles earlier tonight and now we hear from
    Sting.
Naturally, the room for his sit down interview is darker and more broody. He brings up his pride at being the TNA World Heavyweight Champion. It’s a locker room of hard workers and serious competitors, all of whom want to be the man and he believes the competition has brought out the best in him. He was happy when AJ Styles won the #1 Contendership Four Way Shootout, he believes him to be one of the best wrestlers in the world and exactly the kind of challenger he wants to defend his title against on the big stage of PPV.

But this is AJ’s first rodeo. The Stinger has been here and done this before, he’s been wrestling in main events like this one for the better part of 15 years. He won’t be in awe of the occasion like his opponent because he was born for these moments and when the going gets tough, the tough get going and AJ Styles better believe that Sting is as tough as they come! He’s seen what his opponent can do, he is truly phenomenal like he says he is and Sting has no doubt that one day he will be the World Heavyweight Champion. Just not yet. At the 2nd Anniversary Show, Sting is going to bring showtime and AJ Styles is going to learn the level he will need to reach if he wants the King of the Mountain like the Stinger.

    Standard Singles Match

    Jeff Hardy vs. Elix Skipper

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

Given that both of these wrestlers are impressive high-flyers, this match resembles more a highlight reel than a wrestling match. Skipper is out to prove he belongs on this stage and he’s hungry to pick up what would be a massive victory for him. He jumps to the top rope from a standing position, leaping off with a moonsault press for a close near fall. Telling his opponent that anything he can do he can do better, Hardy charges the corner and leaps off with the Whisper in the Wind for a close near fall of his own.

‘Primetime’ elevates Hardy for the Kryptonite Krunch but Hardy escapes into a Sunset Flip Roll-up and follows it up with his signature Leg Drop to the groin. Skipper shoves Hardy away from executing the Twist of Fate and after a kick to the midsection, he hits the Play of the Day! He covers quickly but Hardy still manages to get his shoulder up before the three. Running out of ideas, Skipper sends Hardy to the ropes and ducks his head, perhaps for his signature Spinebuster but for the ‘Enigma’, this is the perfect opportunity to apply the brakes and dump Skipper on his head with the Twist of Fate! Shortly thereafter, Hardy picks up the victory courtesy of the Swanton Bomb.

    Jeff Hardy
may well have been victorious but any kind of celebration he can have is short lived because
Jeff Jarrett, Kanyon and Mike Awesome
charge down the entrance ramp to the ring and immediately launch their assault on Double J’s opponent for Saturday. Hardy manages to stand toe to toe with Kanyon but Awesome ploughs through him and before long, all three members of the Big League are sticking their boots to the ‘Enigma’.

    z2HTYUY.jpgEv0x6WT.jpg9nnDEBd.jpg

    However, here comes the cavalry,
Savio Vega, Apolo and Ray Gonzalez
come darting down the ramp! Vega exchanges right hands with Jarrett, Apolo and Awesome have a hoss fight and Gonzalez double legs Kanyon. All hell breaks loose in the ring as these two factions go to war and referee Rudy Charles calls out for more assistance trying to restore peace. Awesome attempts to execute an Awesome Bomb but Gonzalez attacks him from behind and together, they Double Clothesline the big man to the outside. But he lands on his feet and grabs Apolo’s foot, pulling him to the outside as Gonzalez walks straight into a Flatliner from Kanyon. Awesome gets sent into the steel security railing and this brawl shows no sign of abating any time soon...

After watching his match against D’Lo Brown, AJ Styles told the agent Terry Taylor that he likes Sonny Siaki and thinks TNA should strap a rocket to him.

Similarly, Sting told Dutch Mantell that he likes what Cheerleader Melissa is doing in the ring and believes that kid is only gonna get better with time.

    Wednesday, Week 3, June 2004

The road to the 2nd Anniversary Show ends in Tennessee as the 19th edition of iMPACT airs live from the Skyhawk Arena. In the main event, ‘Primetime’ Elix Skipper looks to knock off ‘Enigma’ Jeff Hardy just days before he faces off against Jeff Jarrett. Could a place in the Big League be opened up should Skipper capture the victory? Or will Hardy take the momentum into the AutoZone Park?

Elsewhere tonight, we’ll find out who will join Kanyon & Mike Awesome in the final of the TNA World Tag Team Championship Tournament when America’s Most Wanted and The New Franchise renew their rivalry and we’ll hear from both Sting & AJ Styles ahead of their much awaited TNA World Heavyweight Championship clash on Saturday.

Speaking of Saturday, after an attack by a mysterious masked man, Dragon Kid has been ruled out of Ultimate-X 3. Tonight, the six unsuccessful qualifiers will meet inside Last Chance Saloon, a one fall to a finish match to find out who will join Amazing Red and Kid Kash in contesting for Christopher Daniels’s TNA X-Division Championship.

    Standard Singles Match

Apolo vs. Jeff Jarrett (w/ Don Callis)

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

This is the match that Commissioner Piper is making Jarrett wrestle in order to earn his match with Jeff Hardy and perhaps surprisingly Double J keeps it clean here. Underneath the insecurity he is of course a damn fine technical wrestler and Tenay wonders if Jarrett is being careful not to jeopardize the match he wants against the ‘Enigma’. He focuses his assault firmly on the left leg of his burly opponent and whilst Apolo may possess impressive power, he’s handicapped throughout by that bad wheel and Jarrett secures the submission with a Figure Four Leglock.

, albeit through gritted teeth and makes his match versus Jeff Hardy official for the 2nd Anniversary Show. Standard Tag Team Match

Bloodweiser (Shark Boy & The Sandman) vs. Glenn Gilbertti & David Young

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

After the excitement of the opening segment, this match cools the crowd down and gives the commentators a chance to postulate over Piper’s announcement. Will he call it down the middle? Will he get physical if Jarrett or Hardy cross the line? Will anybody dare interfere and raise the ire of ‘Hot Rod’? They do, however, focus on this match long enough to clear up that Johnny Swinger is not participating due to an injury and David Young has taken his place. The former Team Jarrett trio are still on a mission to find out who assaulted them backstage and they spot somebody at ringside…

    Shad Gaspard
is standing up to encourage Shark Boy and at the sight of the big man, Gilbertti begins to get flashbacks. He’s just as big as the man that attacked them! It could be him! This distraction enables Shark Boy to hit a Stunner to Young and The Sandman follows up with the White Russian Legsweep to capture the W.

Outnumbered now four to one, The Gathering beat Raven down and give Mitchell the opportunity to get up close and personal to his rival. Standing in the corner, he watches as Abyss leaves the exclamation mark on the attack with the Black Hole Slam.

    Standard Tag Team Match

Sara Del Rey & Daizee Haze vs. Daffney & Cheerleader Melissa

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

Del Rey & Daizee may be perfectly solid singles competitors in their own right but as a team, they’re found wanting here. It turns out that Daffney & Melissa are a great team and working together they manage to negate much of the technical skill, strength and athleticism of their two opponents. More than the sum of their parts, the Daff Knees leave Haze in prime position for Melissa’s Kudo Driver and she duly delivers the parting blow.

In the interview room, we hear from the winner of Gold Rush,
    Sonny Siaki.
Dressed in a loose Hawaiian printed shirt, he says that defeating the iconic Tatanka last week was just the start for this muscle bound stud. D’Lo Brown made a big mistake when he called out Samoa Joe and at the 2nd Anniversary Show, Siaki firmly backs his samoan cohort to have his hand raised when the dust has settled.

”But D’Lo made an even bigger mistake when he signed a match contract to face me!”

With some momentum and confidence behind him, D’Lo could well be competition for the ‘Samoan Submission Machine’ but after Siaki scores the dub against the dog who’s had his day, he’ll realise that he’s going to be lucky just to walk away from the AutoZone Park in 10 days time.

    Ultimate-X 3 Qualifier

Chris Sabin vs. Dragon Kid vs. Jerrelle Clark

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

The TNA X-Division Champion Christopher Daniels joins us on commentary to find out who the third and final qualifier will be for the match he’s confident he’s going to triumph in. He’s the God of the division and he’s amused by all these wrestlers pretending they have a chance of vanquishing him.

The match itself a fast-paced affair as you would expect, if a little underwhelming considering the relative popularity of the competitors involved. Sabin comes close to the W with the Iconoclasm on Clark and Jerrelle answers back with a Handspring Standing Moonsault but courtesy of the Dragonrana on ‘Mr. 630’, it’s the Kid that punches his ticket to the 2nd Anniversary Show.

    b0ZyVQM.jpg

    It’s…
    ?

Whoever this man is, he’s noticeably larger than Dragon Kid and takes him down with a Clothesline. But the punishment hasn’t finished there because he deadlifts him straight up from the canvas in the Powerbomb position and powers him straight back down to the mat with a disgusting thud. One isn’t enough, this masked man hoists the Kid up a second time and plants him again! Ultimo Dragon’s last student has been taken out and Mike Tenay wonders, will he even make it to Ultimate-X 3 now?

Back from a commercial break and
    Veronica
is making her way to the ring. Clad in tight jeans and a leather jacket, she takes a microphone from JB. She’s the lady to defeat, the one who brings victory and she’s come here to be the Queen of the Knockout’s. She wants every lady in that dressing room to step out, step up and give her their best, starting at the 2nd Anniversary Show. Who wants to answer her open challenge and face her on PPV?

She comes out with a microphone of her own and tells Veronica that she’ll face her in 10 days time. She hopes that the former Women’s Champion was watching earlier when she planted Daizee Haze with the Kudo Driver. At the 2nd Anniversary Show, Veronica has everything to lose and Melissa has everything to gain. Can she really bring victory when the pressure is on?

TNA World Tag Team Championship Tournament Semi-Final

The Kru (BG James & Ron Killings) vs. The Big League (Kanyon & Mike Awesome) (w/ Don Callis)

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

A rock solid match here with Kanyon dictating the pace, Killings fighting in bursts, Awesome asserting his power and BG putting his fists to good use. Four distinctive wrestlers with different styles but a match that favours the established tag team, as evidenced when Kanyon and Awesome clash heads and the ‘Innovator of Offence’ is nearly put away with a Pumphandle Slam from BG, his bacon saved only when referee Slick Johnson spots that his left foot is under the bottom rope.

BG contests the count as Killings is trying to recover on the outside having been on the receiving end of an Awesome Splash but as he staggers back to his feet, a man in a tracksuit darts down the entrance ramp…

    wCybwcW.jpg

    It’s
    CM Punk!

He drives his knee into Killings’s midsection, puts his right arm behind his back and drives ‘The Truth’ into the floor with the Devil Lock DDT! Slick Johnson didn’t see it but BG did and as he drops outside to check on his partner, Awesome is perfectly placed to drop him with a sickening Lariat!

Punk backs up the entrance ramp, shiteating grin written across his face as Awesome rolls James into the ring and watches on as Kanyon drives BG face first into the canvas with the Flatliner and advances his team to the final.

On the compound, we hear from a face painted
    Jeff Hardy.
He was right when he said that Jarrett needed an army, just as Team Jarrett ends now he’s got the Big League. It’s all the same to him. Double J knows he can’t get the job done on his own. He lost at Genesis to Sting and that memory haunts his every dream and his worst nightmares. But what is he going to do at the 2nd Anniversary Show when Commissioner Piper is there to make sure it’s mano a mano? Two weeks ago, when Jarrett was all alone at the announce table, the ‘Enigma’ struck and won the day. In ten days time, at the 2nd Anniversary Show, when Jarrett is isolated again, history will repeat itself and Jeff Hardy will start his climb towards the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

    Handicap Tag Team Match

AJ Styles & Sting vs. Kenny Omega, Bobby Roode & Eric Young (w/ Scott D’Amore)

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

After a tense moment in which the Stinger and AJ have to decide between them who starts, the Champion acquiseces, allowing his opponent at the Anniversary show to kick this one off. Thankfully for the Stinger & AJ, this match is enforced under standard tag team rules so the only numbers advantage they have to mitigate is the opportunity for their opponents to work quick tags and keep the fresher man in the ring. This is the strategy that D’Amore keeps pushing on his three students, constantly encouraging them to bring their opponent into their corner where they can use their advantage to its fullest.

They do this first to AJ and then to Sting but ‘The Icon’ rallies with a One-Handed Bulldog to legal man Omega. Then he whips Roode to one corner, E-Y to the other, giving them both Stinger Splashes for their trouble! When he gets over to the corner and tags in AJ, it’s the final tag of the match. Both Roode & E-Y tee off with Sting on the outside, leaving the ‘Prodigy’ to do the business for their team.

Omega hooks Styles for the Dragon Suplex but the ‘Phenomenal One’ elbows his way out, ducks an errant clothesline before spoiling Kenny’s equilibrium with the Pele Kick. Sting hops back up on the apron as AJ hits the ropes but Omega catches him coming back with a Hurricanrana. Only he doesn’t because Styles puts the brakes on, blocks the move and manouvers his own legs to capture Omega’s arms before putting him down with the Styles Clash! He looks around and makes sure he eyeballs the TNA World Heavyweight Champion as referee Rudy Charles does the elementary task of counting the 1-2-3.

Scott D’Amore reaches into the ring post-match, grabbing Omega’s arm to help him from the ring as the Canadian contingent take their walk of shame back up the entrance ramp and away from the ring.
    AJ Styles’s
marvellous theme song doesn’t play for long before he asks for JB’s microphone and tells our production crew to cut his music. It’s here that he tells
    Sting
it was an honour to be his partner tonight and to help him deal with their mutual enemies. It was also good to get up close and personal to scout ‘The Icon’ and see what he could do first hand inside the squared circle.

But this is where the niceties end. He hopes that Sting watched real carefully in there because in 10 days time, it’s going to be him that is on the receiving end of the Styles Clash and TNA Wrestling will have a World Heavyweight Champion that is truly Phenomenal. With the mic drop, his music starts anew and Sting jaw jacks in return, raising his title above his head. Words continue to be exchanged between the two as we cut to black.

TNA World Tag Team Championship Tournament Semi-Final

BG James & Ron Killings vs. Kanyon & Mike Awesome

Comments: This should be a very good tag team match and could easily have been the tournament final with this amount of talent. It's pretty much a toss-up but I'm going with Kanyon and Awesome.

I did have The Kru going to the final in my first draft of the tournament but I changed my mind to Kanyon & Awesome because I already had a face vs. face world title match.

  10. The Shark vs. 'The Total Package' Lex Luger

Comments: Good debut showcase for Luger but I do feel sorry for John Tenta, The Shark is such an awful gimmick for an otherwise talented big dude.

    Tatanka vs. Sonny Siaki

Comments: I like Tatanka (and actually hired him as well in my now-dead game). I gave him a decent push but it wasn't that long ago that Siaki challenged for the World Title so I'm going with him here.

I only had him for one night as part of a trade I've done with IWA, but it got Sonny Siaki from unimportant to recognisable so it was a good bit of business :)

    We kick off iMPACT! with
    Jeff Jarrett & Don Callis
on their way to the ring. Addressing Jeff Hardy’s assault at the announce table last week, Double J thought he had swatted that little fly two weeks ago but it seems that the ‘Enigma’ hasn’t learned what’s best for him yet. Jarrett demands that Commissioner Piper come out right now to make it official, he wants a match against Jeff Hardy and he wants it tonight!

    3CBfPsK.jpg

Right on queue, Jarrett gets half his wish and
    Roddy Piper
emerges from the entrance tunnel. Just like Jarrett, Hardy wants this match too but it’s not the inmates that run the asylum around here. He’ll make the match official for the 2nd Anniversary Show but Jarrett has to do him a favour first.

After he was wiped out of the tag team match on the post Caribbean Combat iMPACT!,
    Apolo
has been patiently waiting for his chance for revenge. If Double J wants his match with Hardy, he has to face off with Apolo in singles action next week! Jarrett is none too pleased at this and Don doesn’t like his client having to make such a concession but both of them realise their hands are tied and they accept the conditions.

    Ultimate-X 3 Qualifier

Amazing Red vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Silas Young

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

    8fZamDv.jpg

”After I take down that X, people will finally give me the respect I deserve!”

Having qualified for Ultimate-X 3 himself last week, Kid Kash joins us at the commentary desk to see first hand who will be joining him. As for the match, it’s the perfect start to the show. Three very fine wrestlers vying for a ticket to the 2nd Anniversary Show, all with diverse styles, the kind of wrestling that has made the X-Division so special over the last two years. Silas makes an enemy of both men and eventually they double team him, a Spike Cradle Piledriver that puts the X-Division’s Real Man out of commission.

Lynn attempts the La Magistral cradle, the move he used to pin Amazing Red in the past, but this time the youngster counters into a crucifix pin of his own for a close near fall. Lynn is thrown off by this sudden movement and walks into an Enzuigiri before Red locks down his spot in Ultimate-X 3 courtesy of the Code Red.

    Returning from a commercial break,
    CM Punk
is standing by in the ring with a microphone in his hand. He’s all alone, no James Mitchell and no members of The Gathering. Two weeks ago on Xplosion,
    Ron Killings
called him out and asked for a match. But The Kru is fighting in the TNA World Tag Team Championship Tournament and they could make it all the way to the final at the 2nd Anniversary Show.

Punk finds it ironic, why did Killings call him out when he knew he might not be able to fight him on PPV? Is it because he’s running scared after their time limit draw? Is it because he needed BG James to bail him out during the #1 Contendership Four Way Shootout? Punk believes he would have won that match if not Killings’s idiot friend BG James, a man who’s 35 but acts like he’s 15. That’s the kind of company that he keeps and it’s the reason that sooner or later, CM Punk and The Gathering are going to bring Ron Killings to heel.
    ”Quote The Gathering, nevermore!”

    Standard Singles Match

    Tatanka vs. Sonny Siaki

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

The Gold Rush Ring winner may well be giving up a bit of size to the experienced Tatanka but he’s a blue chip competitor and his superior physical condition stands him in better stead here. There’s some welcome nostalgia spots for the Native American but in the end he gets planted with the Siakalypse and that Whiplash Neckbreaker from the ropes is enough to put him down for the 1-2-3.

    In the locker room,
Don Callis, Kanyon & Mike Awesome
are standing by to address next week’s semi-final in the TNA World Tag Team Championship Tournament. They face off against Ron Killings & BG James, two men that Jeff Jarrett has had his problems with in the not too distant past. According to Kanyon, it’s another score for them to settle for Double J and who betta than Kanyon to handle business?

Speaking for the imposing, intimidating Mike Awesome, Callis tells The Kru to watch back what Mike Awesome did last week to The S.A.T., he damn near Awesome Bombed poor Jose Maximo into an early retirement! There’s a reason they used to call this man the ‘Career Killer’ and The Kru are going to find out exactly why next week.

TNA World Tag Team Championship Tournament

Danny Doring & Roadkill [#8] vs. The New Franchise [#1] (Shane Douglas & Michael Shane) (w/Madison)

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

Just as they predicted themselves, this was a standard day at the office for the former NWA champs. Roadkill troubled them with his size and the presence of the beautiful Madison was an unintentional distraction to Michael Shane more than once but Douglas got his team’s game back on the right track and Madison was delighted to see her man pick up the W with the Sweet Shane Music to Danny Doring.

    Standard Singles Match

    Lacey vs. Veronica

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

Of course Lacey was little more than cannon fodder now. Unable to lay much of a glove on her opponent, Veronica floored her with a Clothesline and hit an impressive Standing Moonsault. Lacey kicked out of that but it simply prolonged her punishment further and ensured she was on the receiving end of the always brutal Widow’s Peak. At that point, the pinfall was academic.

    Johnny Swinger
sweep past and knock over several of his pieces!

In mid-conversation, the two of them were too preoccupied with their Whodunnit to even notice what they had done but Shark Boy is upset the game has been ruined. Refusing to apologise, Gilbertti & Swinger get themselves in more trouble because The Sandman forces them to accept a match next week to save themselves from a singapore cane ass whipping right here right now!

    Dragon Kid vs. Romeo

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

One of the impressive cruiserweights of late era WCW, Romeo is looking to make a statement within the X-Division here tonight. Unfortunately, his opponent is the superb last graduate of the Ultimo Dragon Gym and the Kid bamboozles him with his array of high-flying moves before putting him away with his signature Dragonrana.

TNA World Tag Team Championship Tournament

America’s Most Wanted [#2] (Chris Harris & James Storm) vs. The Gathering [#7] (Abyss & Brother Julio) (w/ Father Mitchell, Bateman & Northcutt)

    TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES

Playing on the minds of the ‘Wildcat’ and the ‘Cowboy’ are the numbers at ringside as well as their opponents. Despite being the vastly more experienced team, they find it difficult to keep their focus on what’s actually important as The Gathering consistently circle the ring and try to influence proceedings. Eventually, it’s time to get involved proper. Northcutt hops up on one side, attracting Slick Johnson’s attention as Bateman hops up on the opposite and uses Mitchell’s cane to floor James Storm!

But before the referee can count, the arena lights dim slightly and a guitar riff reminiscent of Nirvana’s ‘Come As You Are’ can mean only one thing…

    txRrIV0.jpg

    Raven
    is back!

He immediately occupies the attention of Mitchell’s recruits, taking down both Bateman and Northcutt before drilling Abyss in the midsection and dropping him face first on the entrance ramp with the Raven Effect DDT!

Inside the ring, AMW take full advantage. Storm yanks Harris out of the Vertebreaker situation and hits the Last Call on Julio. Together, they hit the Death Sentence and advance to the competition semi-finals.

    Microphone in hand,
    Father Mitchell
tells Raven that he thought they had gotten rid of him for good at Genesis. They beat him, they sent him to oblivion with the Black Hole Slam! He’s decided to come back and poke his nose in The Gathering’s business again… Mitchell won’t be held responsible for what happens next because Raven will face Abyss at the 2nd Anniversary Show in Monster’s Ball!

    TNA World Heavyweight Championship

    Sting © vs. Legend (w/ Scott D’Amore)

    TIME LIMIT: 20 MINUTES

This is likely to be the most one-sided title match we will ever see for the most prestigious prize in TNA but the Canadian manages to make it a little interesting by going after the Stinger’s left leg. He is a grizzled, technically proficient competitor and with D’Amore’s ringside tutelage, he does at least try to make a match out of this. However, Sting is on a different level and turns the tide with his One-Handed Bulldog. Legend cannot afford to absorb many shots and after the Stinger Splash, ‘The Icon’ hooks him up for the Scorpion Deathlock. At ringside, Scott D’Amore decides now is the time to play his hand and motions to the back...

    KqqG3cj.jpg3nkt7Bf.jpgaK9byMV.jpg

    And
Kenny Omega, Bobby Roode & Eric Young
come charging out the entrance tunnel, ambushing Sting from behind in the ring as referee Rudy Charles has to call for the bell.

    Three on one,
    D’Amore’s Canadian contingent
put the boots in to the TNA World Heavyweight Champion
    Sting
    and once
    Legend
has recovered, he joins in too. It appears as though the plan all along was to put the match at the 2nd Anniversary Show in jeopardy and considering none of D’Amore’s team are yet on the card, perhaps his chagrin is understandable.

    ROjQVjr.jpg

But the cavalry arrives in the form of
    AJ Styles!

He hits the ring and immediately gets the better of Roode and E-Y, flooring them with a salvo of right hands. But Omega ties him up in the corner and AJ begins to flag as the numbers game becomes overwhelming. However, in the opposite corner, Sting has recovered and he begins to rally back. Overhand right hands send D’Amore’s team to the bricks and as Sting and Styles back away from their respective corners, they come back to back...

They both immediately turn around, both on edge, fists clenched with tension filling the air. But cooler heads prevail once they realise what has happened and we fade to black with the two opponents for the 2nd Anniversary Show locked in a staredown.

Of course Wrath got pinned, he's just holding Mortis back at this point. Somebody needs to give that guy a Flatliner already.</p><p> </p><p>

It just occurred to me that Edge is a much better fit for The Flock here than he was when WWF introduced him as this mysteriously aloof bystander watching on from the crowd. I like the addition of Abyss too. What a parallel between your universe and mine where they are bitter rivals haha.</p><p> </p><p>

I thought that Davey Boy was there to lose too, how did you manage to twist Hogan and Savage's arms into losing that one? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Sting retaining was probably the obvious call but you did enough there to suggest that maybe Scott Hall was going to take it home.</p>
