I'm also going to nominate Blodyxe's Lucha Underground: Fate Worse Than Death diary for Rookie DOTM. I am wayyyy behind on my reading of it but it's obviously excellent and deserves to be on the poll.

    TNA iMPACT! #8 Preview

    CARD SUBJECT TO CHANGE

    Wednesday, Week 4, March 2004

Just days out from Genesis, we’re back in the TNA homeland of Tennessee. As announced on Xplosion, Commissioner Piper has called both Sting and Jeff Jarrett out to exchange their final words with one another and go over the rules for their TNA World Heavyweight Championship encounter. As per Jarrett’s demand, there is to be no physical contact with one another and security will be on hand to ensure the Commissioner retains order.

Elsewhere tonight, momentum is the name of the game. In our main event, AJ Styles gets his hands on The New Franchise when he faces off against Shane Douglas. As much as the ‘Phenomenal One’ will savour the opportunity to extend his winning streak, Douglas may be the most experienced opponent he has faced all year and will surely provide a tough test for the first ever TNA Triple Crown Champion.

Both Ron Killings and Raven will be in singles action, can Silas Young and Slash derail them before their respective clashes with BG James and CM Punk at Genesis? And, in X-Division trios action, the bragging rights are on the line when Daniels, Low-Ki and Skipper collide!

Chris Hero vs. Michael Shane (w/ Monty Brown)

This is the first time we’ve seen either of these two in a wrestling capacity for some weeks and though Hero manages to have some success in the early chain wrestling exchanges, this is really an extended showcase for one half of the NWA World Tag Team Champions. He cuts his opponent off at the pass with a vicious clothesline because a Brainbuster is followed by a Diving Elbow Drop to capture the W.

After the Maximo brothers hit Double Dropkicks taking both the onrushing Legend and then the advancing Roode retreating to the outside,

comes down to ringside and begins to coach both Canadians back into the match. He helps them gain control, "accidentally" catching Jose Maximo's foot at he runs to the ropes. But D'Amore's assistance is all for naught. The S.A.T. are too explosive and it's all she wrote after the Maximo Explosion flattens Bobby Roode.

Jeremy Borash enlightens us that Dragon Kid has recently relocated to the United States whilst this is only Caprice Coleman’s second appearance in TNA, last appearing in November last year. Though the match is decent, both competitors are yet to establish themselves with the TNA Asylum and there’s only a small smattering of applause when Dragon Kid makes Coleman submit to his Fujiwara Armbar out of a Headscissors Takedown.

In the dressing room after Wednesday’s DQ victory…

    We hear from
    Chris Harris
    and
    James Storm
, who call out The New Franchise for their assault. Harris finds it funny that they ran off when the numbers were evened up but there will be nowhere for them to go when they meet one another at Genesis.

Storm tells Ekmo & Siaki that they have unfinished business whilst reminding them that the current champions cost them their opportunity at tag team gold. Once America’s Most Wanted settle their score with The New Franchise, they’ll meet those two Samoans
    “any time, any place, anywhere.”

In the Team Jarrett locker room…

    Jeff Jarrett
    and
    Don Callis
inform us that Commissioner Piper has invited them to meet Sting on Wednesday to exchange their final words before they meet at Genesis. They’ve accepted but only on the condition that Sting keeps that baseball bat of his in his coat pocket.
"No physical contact or else the match is off."

Callis says that Piper needs to control that man, he’s wild and out of control. Did he see what he did to David Young on Wednesday? He should be suspended for that assault! Jeff Hardy too, he’s lucky that Kid Kash is one tough customer or that Twist of Fate on the floor could have been a lawsuit. Jarrett agrees with his consultant and reminds Piper and Sting that Team Jarrett run this joint and sooner rather than later, they’ll have both of them put out to pasture.

Low-Ki & Sonjay Dutt vs. Elix Skipper & Scoot Andrews

Very much a match of two singles engagements with Low-Ki wanting to get his hands on Skipper and Dutt being left to fight against the reigning NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion. As this match develops it becomes more like a handicap, with Skipper having to do the bulk of the heavy lifting. It’s a situation he tires of and once Low-Ki spikes Scoot Andrews with the Ki-Krusher, ‘Primetime’ doesn’t even attempt to re-enter the ring to break up the pin.

  4. ...do I get an extra point for picking the DQ in the AMW match :D

But seriously, at this point I think it's pretty realistic for Impact to be having your easier picks in order to build properly toward the harder PPV matchups. You don't want to ruin weeks of building Siaki and Ekmo with a random loss to AMW on Impact!

Honestly, I did think about giving you one but I guess it's a big enough prize that you can bask in your rightness :p

You're right about the realism aspect. I think people are also getting to grips with who is being pushed and showcased and who is not. That said, I am curious which direction people go when I put the PPV predictions up, hopefully none of you manage to clean sweep that show. ;)

Just found out that Don West has brain lymphoma :(

He's awesome, and I always liked his work with Mike Tenay. You're doing a good job of carrying over his tone, hope he sticks around for you

Yes, it is very sad news and my thoughts are with him. Hopefully he beats it!

I have absolutely no desire of replacing him in this diary. I always thought his enthusiasm for what he was watching was infectious and I've been trying to harnass that as best I can. Lots of the early truly great TNA matches were made by Don West's excitement on comms and I think they lost something when they replaced him with Taz. Not a mistake I intend to repeat here.

    Standard Tag Team Match

Ron Killings & BG James vs. Tyler Bateman & Kevin Northcutt

Thanks to the early tension and pensive attitude of The Kru, Bateman and Northcutt are able to take control early on here. Tyler directs traffic, telling Kevin exactly what to do, dictating the situation as he bullies BG into his team’s corner. It’s a solid strategy but James & Killings have been to this rodeo before and manage to put aside their issues temporarily to handle their common enemy. The Nizzie Legdrop leaves Northcutt clutching at his little Kevin’s and all that’s left is the parting blow, a Shake, Rattle & Roll dropping Bateman so Killings can come down with the 450 Splash to capture the W.

    and
    Joe E. Legend

”I’m gonna put 10 of ya in the ring at Genesis and the last man standing that hasn’t been thrown over the top will get a shot at any title they choose, whenever they choose. We’ll call it GOLD RUSH! - and you three are the first confirmed entrants. Does that sound good to ya’s?”

Sabin shrugs nonchalantly, ever as cool as a cucumber. Danielson nods repeatedly in determination and Legend cuts half-smirk and half-grimace, cracking his knuckles at the prospect of inflicting punishment on nine others. For their reaction Piper smiles, he’s enjoying this business of making men fight one another!

    Standard Tag Team Match

America’s Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Storm) vs. Sonny Siaki & Ekmo

This is an opportunity for vengeance for James Storm after Siaki defeated him two weeks ago and unlike the tag team match earlier in the night, this one sees the heroes of the piece commanding the middle of the ring early on. For the Samoan duo it’s just the case of letting AMW get that energy out of their system and once they do, Ekmo is able to bring his size and power to the dance.

Only for a short while though. He charges Storm in the corner and eats the turnbuckles before the Last Call drops the big man and shakes the ring to its core. If Siaki thought he had to fight on alone, he had another thing coming...

    Shane Douglas

    Sonny Siaki
    and
    Ekmo
look on uneasily and Don West wonders if this was the plan all along or are they disappointed this match was taken away from them by the NWA World Tag Team Champions?

They head off away from the scene but that’s not immediately important because there’s somebody in the TNA locker room that will not stand for this...

    ROjQVjr.jpg

    AJ Styles
charges down the entrance ramp, steel chair in his clutches. The New Franchise want nothing to do with the ‘Phenomenal One’ and depart out the sides of the ring, still relatively pleased with their handiwork as they wheel away and leave AJ checking on America’s Most Wanted. Styles tries to goad Douglas, Shane & Brown into returning to the ring to face him but to no avail. They just share a collective smirk as they wheel away, ensuring that Styles will have to wait to get what he wants.

    Standard Singles Match

    Jeff Hardy vs. Johnny Swinger

After last week’s match with Sting and subsequent post-match assault, Tenay explains that Hardy wanted this match to continue his quest of bringing down Team Jarrett. Surprisingly, there’s no ringside assistance for Swinger and it plays a part here as aside from a Swinger Stinger, Hardy is untroubled and can play all his greatest hits. The Reverse Enzuigiri, the Leg Drop to the groin and the Whisper in the Wind all find their mark before the Twist of Fate and the Swanton Bomb seal the deal.

    It is, of course,
    Raven.

He laid the gauntlet down two weeks ago to see CM Punk at Genesis and when he wins, he’s going to savour the moment James Mitchell steps between the ropes to face him. No more students, no more subservience - just the two of them.

”I fought in this building behind me hundreds of times. I’m here to return my roots and at Genesis, I will drag CM Punk down to them too. On Saturday, it will be Extreme Rules! To say, there will be no rules. This will not be a wrestling match, not a test of each man’s proclivity for the sport of professional wrestling - this will be a fight like James Mitchell wanted.”

He wanted Raven to face his destiny, to get in the ring and face his students, to be present for what was forthcoming. At Genesis, it will be The Gathering meeting their ruin at the hands of their creator.
    ”Quote the Raven, nevermore.”

    Standard Singles Match

Simon Diamond vs. Jeff Jarrett (w/ Don Callis)

With Diamond now out of Team Jarrett after attacking Young and Gilbertti on Xplosion a couple of weeks ago, Tenay explains that this is Jarrett’s opportunity to assert his authority over one of his former members and maybe gain back some lost respect with the current members. Simon is game for that challenge though and what follows is a surprisingly physical match given the technical skills of both competitors.

Diamond goes for the Gem Cutter early with Double J trying to counter into The Stroke only for Diamond to sit down into a Stunner. Or rather, the Chart Buster! A detail that was not lost on Don West. The Simon Series follows for a near fall before Jarrett spots Diamond ducking his head too early for a Back Body Drop and hits him with a Neckbreaker that leaves both men down. This is when Don Callis calls for reinforcements...

    RosTA5U.jpg

    And
    Glenn Gilbertti
makes his way down to ringside. Back on his feet, Simon Diamond ensures that the referee Rudy Charles keeps his eyes on Gilbertti and that he does, ensuring that G.G.’s possible threat is muted entirely. But Callis hops on the apron, only to meet Simon Diamond’s right hand, falling to the floor below!

As Diamond savours the Consultant’s fall from grace, he unfortunately turns around straight into a knee to the gut from Jarrett and is put down suddenly and decisively with The Stroke.

    As if victory for
    Jeff Jarrett
    wasn’t enough,
    Glenn Gilbertti
jumps in the ring and starts beating down
    Simon Diamond
    . Double J checks on
    Don Callis
, still down on the outside of the ring. It was a hard tumble but we think he’ll be okay. Like he’s the leader of Team Jarrett himself, Gilbertti makes a call towards the tunnel for the rest of the group to join them in the ring. But instead, all he sees is a video on the big screen...

    TI8mDOF.jpgHgUXKHY.jpg

    Somewhere backstage,
    Jeff Hardy
    is assaulting
    Kid Kash!

Backed against the wall, the ‘Enigma’ is hammering away with right hands. Disheveled himself in appearance, it looks like the two have been fighting for some time. Tenay wonders if Hardy intercepted Kash trying to get involved in the match and things turned physical. Hardy dumps his adversary into a portable storage cart and then hits the Twist of Fate on the concrete floor, laying him out. Attention returns back to the ring, but a spotlight hits the left side of the arena...

    yZsAsCo.jpg3EDDwiU.jpg

    Because
    Sting
    and
    David Young
have emerged through a side door trading blows! With the energy from the crowd behind him, the Stinger overwhelms Young with overhand rights and then slams him face first into the door behind him. Leaving Team Jarrett’s enforcer trailing in his wake, Sting unsheathes his signature bat from his trench coat and begins to walk down the stairs to the arena floor, pointing at the trio standing in the ring.

    7vDTmWQ.jpg

”Jeff Jarrett and Don Callis have never moved so quick, they are getting the hell out of there!”

Unfortunately for him, Gilbertti was not so hasty, he was left in a gripping panic as Sting descended on the ring much quicker than he expected. Soon enough,
    Simon Diamond
makes his mind up for him, hitting him with a Gem Cutter and leaving him staring at the lights.

When ‘The Icon’ does arrive in the ring, he keeps his attention fixated on the retreating Jarrett and Callis before Diamond feeds Gilbertti to him, making sure that the leader of Team Jarrett watches him deliver the Scorpion Death Drop to their favourite stooge. From here, Sting’s music hits and a staredown between the two parties sees us out as we fade to black.

  6. I'm curious whether AEW do the brave thing and have Jungle Boy win the title. I know it's too early for him to be top dog but it's also not beyond me that wrestling is often about moments and it would be fitting to cap off the tenure at Daily's Place with something. A bit like how WCW marked a special anniversary edition of Nitro with Luger dethroning Hogan.
  7. Britt is pretty much already a face, she got a much bigger pop at Double or Nothing than Hikaru Shida. It's one of those situations where New Japan put Naito against somebody like Jay White and then you just choose which horse you decide to back. Britt is Britt, Nyla is Nyla, I don't think it's so black and white that both are viewed as heel.

  11. I mean i feel like this is a tired take. Anytime any of the Elite or Jericho sniffs the main event title scene it's "of course, they have a stake in the company so they book themselves to bury everyone"

Omega, Cody, and the Bucks spent the entire first year an a half putting everyone on the roster over. Half the reason a ton of these guys who were seen as Indy only guys or WWE failures are way over and in the UMC/ME of Dynamite now is that they did so. What, were they supposed to just be Midcard jobbers for the life of the promotion? They literally put this company together with there star power from NJPW and connections on the indies.

So what, now they can just never be champions or people will complain?

Also, it's pretty obvious that Omega is going to lose to Hangman in front of live crowds, they've been setting that angle to pay off since the split. I suppose if you don't feel Hangman is "worthy" of his spot either that's more nepotism but to me he's a star in the making, and then you can have him go against other fresh matchups and young stars like himself. If he beats Kenny in an epic match in front of a hot crowd, he's a made man.

I expect the Bucks will drop the titles to the Lucha Bros once Rey is healthy (they just set this up too on BTE) in front of crowds, as basically all of them are on record as saying they are just holding off on the Lucha Bros mega push for crowds, which are coming back now. Live crowds are going to be super hot for them and by then will be super hot for the bucks to lose.

Cody is out here literally tanking his career in ways to try to get QT marshall of all people over, but he gets the same crap.

That's not fully my point, I just think the division would be better served if The Bucks had some opponents lined up that they hadn't already beaten. They did the Private Party return match before they won the belts with no build and then did the Santana & Ortiz return match after they won the belts with no build. They're wrestling a lot of matches against two singles guys put together instead of doing programs with well established fixtures of the tag team division. How this company have FTR under contract and haven't put them on Dynamite in a tag team match since mid-February is baffling to me but I think there's a lot of talent on this roster not being used whilst The Young Bucks are always on and are always winning. They could put others on the show more often and give them more air time for sure.

    Kenny King vs. Kid Kash

James Mitchell joins us on commentary this week with Diamond taking his leave after his defection from Team Jarrett. He asks Hudson about Kid Kash, why he doesn’t wrestle more often for such an accomplished talent? Is Team Jarrett serving his interests or is he serving theirs? He could do a lot better...

For a journalist Hudson has surprisingly little to say on the matter, maybe he doesn’t want to attract any undue attention. Nonetheless, Kash finds young Kenny King to be easy pickings here and puts him away with the Dead Level.

    Glenn Gilbertti
boasts about being right all along. Simon Diamond never was loyal to Team Jarrett and only ever interested in himself. He showed his true colours when he attacked G.G. and as far as he’s concerned, Team Jarrett will win more and more matches without a traitor like Diamond pretending to be one of them.

    Simon Diamond
accuses Gilbertti of having played him against the team, all along it’s been obvious to him that Gilbertti wants to be Double J’s favourite, his personal lapdog. He tells Swinger to make the right decision and join him outside Team Jarrett, reminding him that they were once tag team champions before they were doing Double J’s dirty work.

    Chris Sabin vs. Kenny Omega

Hudson explains that Omega comes to us from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and is heavily influenced by video games such as Final Fantasy and Street Fighter. A reductive introduction perhaps but there’s clearly something there to suggest he has a future, impressing even James Mitchell with his physical strike-based offence. But Sabin one-ups him with a picture perfect Enzuigiri and the Cradle Shock lands the W for the former TNA X-Division Champion.

Chris Harris (w/ James Storm) vs. Adam Jacobs

Jacobs comes to us from the South East independent scene and has been seen most prominently working for Bill Behrens’s NWA Wildside. Hudson brings up that he’s wrestled AJ Styles several times before and once competed for the TNA X-Division Championship on the independent scene. He gives a decent account here but Harris is pretty dominant, catching his smaller opponent with an authoritative Powerslam before putting this one to bed with the Catatonic.

    <div style="padding: 20px; border: 2px solid #000000; margin:15px;background: #dddddd; max-width:100%;";">

    Jerry Lynn vs. Alex Shelley

Before James Mitchell can get any ideas of bringing Shelley into his unit,
    Scott D’Amore
joins us on commentary and mentions that Shelley is a BCW wrestler, an American that has made his career in Canada because the United States doesn’t know a talent when they see one! Be that as it may, Shelley’s game is not quite as refined as his opponent’s here and though this is a decent technical wrestling match, Jerry Lynn gets the better of the Motor City native and puts him down with the Cradle Piledriver.

Jeremy Borash catches up with Sonny Siaki…

But starts out by saying that Siaki has joined The New Franchise only to be corrected. He and Ekmo have not joined the group, they are merely helping them with their little AMW problem. Once they sort out the ‘Wildcat’ and the ‘Cowboy’ they’ll be first in line for a title shot, that’s the agreement and he sees no reason to doubt the integrity of a man like Shane Douglas. On Wednesday, Siaki and Ekmo will show America’s Most Wanted the Siakalypse and they will never be a threat to the NWA World Tag Team Championships ever again.

    Ron Killings vs. Kevin Northcutt

Hudson announces that the opening match of iMPACT! on Wednesday will feature Ron Killings teaming up with BG James to take on Tyler Bateman and Kevin Northcutt. Hence it being no surprise that
    Tyler Bateman
comes down to observe his tag team partner to be, seeing how he fares against his opponent from last week’s Xplosion.

Northcutt has been out in the cold ever since he was fired from Team Jarrett and it’s obvious he lacks the confidence and the momentum to make a dent here. He does have moments of dominance thanks to his size and power and Mitchell ponders about some untapped potential there but ‘The Truth’ hits the Flying Japapeno and Bateman observes the 450 Splash that picks up the 1-2-3.

    Standard Singles Match

    Ron Killings vs. David Young

We head straight to the ring this week with Killings back at the Impact Zone after his week away in his home state of North Carolina to clear his head. He looks as focused as ever on the job ahead of him, rallying early to put Young down for a near fall after his signature Leg Lariat. Young is able to assert himself - much the stalwart of Team Jarrett, what he lacks in technique and class he tries to make up for with determination and he grinds Killings down with a combination of well-placed strikes and tight holds.

But ‘The Truth’ is different class to this opponent, getting his second wind with the help of our Alabama faithful in attendance before locking up a comprehensive victory with the Truth and Consequences.

He hopes that Killings enjoyed his little getaway last week, he hears that North Carolina is nice this time of the year but business is business. He heard everything that ‘The Truth’ had to say, it’s a shame he didn’t care about the 3Live Kru when he had the opportunity to help save it. As for the meeting with Commissioner Piper, that sounds like hogwash because he knows that Killings only cares about himself at the moment.

”How ‘bout I give ya a little bit of notice? If you’re not busy at Genesis, why don’t we settle this grudge in there?”
, James challenges, pointing to the ring.

Killings asks for a microphone from JB and responds that he doesn’t see any other way of sorting this out provided BG James has beef with him. But after he gets GOT, they better be able to put all of this bull-shizzle behind them for good!

    Non Title Standard Singles Match

    Jerrelle Clark vs. Christopher Daniels

Having impressed in a handful of appearances on Xplosion, ‘Mr. 630’ is given a valuable opportunity here tonight to knock off the TNA X-Division Champion. There’s a sense that Daniels has underestimated his opponent, Clark showing off a good lucha thing by hopping onto the ropes out of an arm wringer to take down C.D. with a Hurricanrana. Daniels seeks refuge in the ropes but that just leaves him in prime position for a move we saw on Xplosion on Saturday, Clark’s signature Tiger Feint Crucifix Armbar!

Daniels has to survive early on and just manages to kick his shoulder out after a Rope Hung Cutter leaves him flat on his stomach. But around the five minute mark, he does turn the tide with his signature STO, not that Clark is done showing out mind you, he counters the Angels Wings into a Dragonrana for an even closer near fall.

    jDWA57W.jpg

”That was two and seven eighths Mike! Jerrelle Clark was so close to the three!”

Jerrelle rushes in, caught with a picture perfect Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker, the impact of which seems to knock the stuffing out of him altogether. It’s a fighting effort but both the Last Rites and the Best Moonsault Ever are left unanswered with Daniels surviving a scare against the iMPACT debutant.

We suddenly jump to the Lair, joining
    CM Punk
    and
    Julio Dinero
mid-argument. Julio is not happy that he was forgotten about several weeks ago, ambushed by Raven in the parking lot with none of The Gathering nearby. He thought it was a one off but then last week on iMPACT! he was again left to fight alone. What happened to their unity?

Punk responds that last week was an opportunity to get some payback on their former mentor. He and Mitchell wanted to give him as long as possible to take out his frustrations on Raven, that’s why they didn’t intervene. Dinero is not convinced by this explanation but in to frame arrives Father Mitchell himself.

    otYsMGO.jpg

He tells his two students to stop fighting, for they are not enemies of one another but friends with the same ambition to avenge Raven’s mistreatment of them. He asserts that every week has been part of the plan, he doesn’t expect them to understand...

”Unlike me, you cannot see the bigger picture. You are too young and too naive but you will learn. Have I ever put you wrong? Everything is going exactly as I have intended it to.”

With Mitchell having asserted his authority, both Punk and Dinero apologise. They have put their futures in the hands of Father Mitchell and they promise to follow without question in the future.

    Standard Singles Match

Don Harris vs. Monty Brown (w/ Michael Shane)

A great man once said that wrestling is not ballet. What he meant to say with that maxim is that this sport is not pretty nor glamorous, it’s rough around the edges and downright rugged at times. Here we have exhibit A of that, an ugly match that resembles a fight and not a particularly engaging one. These two power-packed brawlers pelt one another with their hardest strikes before Monty Brown captures an uninspiring debut victory with The Pounce.

We jump to a local bar, a relatively dim and run down little joint, where broadcast journalist
    Scott Hudson
    finds
    Chris Harris
    and
    James Storm
in their element. He tells them of Monty Brown’s victory just now before asking about last week’s match and the aftermath. Chris Harris pipes up that if Sonny Siaki wants to join up with those stupid boys and start wearing patterned shirts and French loafers then that’s just fine by him.
”Line ‘em up, we’ll keep them knocking ‘em down.”

Hudson asks next about the motives of The New Franchise, why would they interfere in their match? The ‘Cowboy’ thinks it’s obvious why - them boys are running scared! They know that when AMW come for their shot, there’s nothing that Douglas & Shane can do.
“You can buy all the time you want, eventually you’ll have to face us and you’ll be sorry ‘bout your damn luck!”

    Standard Singles Match

Sting vs. Johnny Swinger (w/ Glenn Gilbertti)

In the wake of last week’s match announcement for Genesis, Tenay explains that Swinger was given this match by Commissioner Piper but questions his loyalty to Team Jarrett after his friend Simon Diamond attacked Gilbertti on Xplosion. Any question of whether Swinger is ready to win this match is extinguished almost immediately and he does manage to take the fight to Sting early on, albeit with a little help from G.G. at ringside. The Swinger Stinger gets a near fall and he plants his opponent with The Shaft after Sting finds only turnbuckle on the Stinger Splash.

However, it’s only a matter of time until showtime arrives and the Stinger finds his lane, peppering Swinger with overhand rights before the one-handed bulldog. Despite Gilbertti’s outrage at ringside, all he can do is watch the Stinger Splash connect this time and spot Swinger’s hand slamming the canvas in submission once he’s trapped in the Scorpion Deathlock.

    yZsAsCo.jpg

With Gilbertti helping Swinger from the ring,
    Sting
has his hand raised in victory by Rudy Charles. He brings out his signature howl and climbs the second turnbuckle on each side of the arena, letting the fans get a good look at ‘The Icon’.

”We could be looking at the first ever TNA World Heavyweight Champion right here Don!”

    JgUevKW.jpgZJvIthU.jpgyq8yeeK.jpg8fZamDv.jpg

But our views are diverted away from the Stinger and towards the entrance tunnel where the rest of Team Jarrett emerge.
Jeff Jarrett, Don Callis, David Young
    and
    Kid Kash
stroll down to ringside, stopping just short at the end of the entrance tunnel.

    SSrDjpB.jpgiyKJPg5.jpg

    Because
    Glenn Gilbertti
    and
    Johnny Swinger
have entered on the opposite end of the ring and have jumped Sting from behind! Rather than falling down, Sting backs into the corner and fights as well as he can, even repelling the assault as he drops Gilbertti with an uppercut. He hammer throws Swinger to the opposite corner before hitting him with a Stinger Splash - again!

However, he turns around right into the rest of Team Jarrett entering the ring to launch their ambush. Soon, the numbers game is too much. Jarrett, Kash, Young and Gilbertti start stomping a mudhole into him and even Callis gets in a few cheap shots for good measure. After a short celebration to bask in their handiwork, Double J orders the group to bring a weary Sting back to his feet. This is so he can put an exclamation mark on their assault, hitting The Stroke.

    jDWA57W.jpg

“Maybe you were wrong Mike, perhaps now we’re looking at the first ever TNA World Heavyweight Champion!”

Don West’s simple prophetic remark sees us out, Team Jarrett standing tall over the Stinger as we fade to black.

  15. Good build to this one my dude, enjoying it. :)

    Jay Lethal vs. Kenny Omega

I get the impression he's being lined up for Davey.

PAC & Jack Evans vs. The House of Truth

    Colt Cabana vs. Kevin Steen

Steel Cage Match for the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship

The Briscoes vs. The All Night Express

This one could go either way.

Ring of Honor World Championship #1 Contender's Match

    Roderick Strong vs. Jerry Lynn

No Tyler Black? I'm assuming he got written off by The Temple, so I'll roll with Strong in this one.

  16. Whilst I will admit that Cody is a bit too much of a white meat babyface for my personal liking, he serves AEW's external interests with his charity work, the co-operations from business to business, stuff like that. They have a T-Shirt of his up right now for Pride Month with all the proceeds going to the National Center for Transgender Equality. Even the Ogogo match was only really done so they could have a patriotic babyface on the show for Memorial Day weekend when they were selling tickets for $5 to military personnel.

On a different topic, AEW have announced Omega vs. Jungle Boy for a Saturday night Dynamite on June 26th. I could have sworn they announced on PPV that it was set for the June 9th Dynamite, I swear they had a graphic that said it was in two week's time haha.
