2. Where was Jon Pertwee on this list? I think he's underrated because he had the least to work with compared to the other actors. He always a powerful presence and without him, I think a lot of those more script-based serials would have fallen apart.

Tom Baker is absolutely the best though, Genesis of the Daleks is one of my all-time favourite Doctor Who serials. There's real magic throughout it because the Dalek's are firmly established at that point as the Doctor's big evils and when he meets Davros, the Doctor has already seen the demise of the Dalek's in the future and here he is at their inception. It's a fantastic "I shouldn't be here and I could alter the course of history one way or another, oh my god what do I do" conundrum and it makes for wonderful television.

Are ROH contracts P.P.A. or are they written?

I always assumed they were P.P.A. and if that is the case I wonder if they are leery about pushing workers because they never know who is going to up and leave them for a better offer. I mean Kenny King made them look like a bush league promotion when he left them for TNA. Now if the workers are under written agreements then you are absolutely right, they are doing a terrible job of elevating talent.

Well, the day that Kenny King won the tag titles with Rhett Titus, his contract expired. ROH didn't do a good enough job of convincing him to stay so he signed with TNA and violated his verbal agreement with ROH.

Now I don't know whether the talent is paid guaranteed money or paid based on dates worked but I do know that talent signed to ROH cannot field offers from TNA or WWE. I'm not sure if that applies to your lower card guys like Lio Rush but it definitely applies to the likes of Jay Lethal, The Young Bucks and reDRagon.

  4. I just got through season 2 of Narco's. If you want to watch a cocaine-fuelled action thriller that may or may not be historically accurate, you can do far worse. Wagner Moura is tremendous as Pablo Escobar but the show has flaws and like Game of Thrones it's simply good and not truly great.
  5.

The fact that the company continues to force Reigns down people throats while willingly making their World Champion look weak in the process if stupid. Im sick of Reigns. Im sick of him on my TV. He needs to go back to being jobbed. He isnt on a level like Owens so whats the point of pushing him. Im sick of it

I've always defended Reigns as a worker and as a promo but it is especially perplexing because all the signs point to him being a bust as a draw. They obviously don't like money and good ratings.

But you know, nothing ever changes in WWE. The New Era is a slogan. The Diva's Revolution was a marketing campaign. The show is still ran by a McMahon, the heel champ has been hand-picked and the women still argue like children. And they continue to make hair-brained choices like putting the Cruiserweights on in the third hour.

  6. Meltz has said that WWE isn't interested and Sinclair only showed interest months back. Corgan will get TNA and continue the up swing it has been on this last year, and get it back to touring by the end of next year. TNA is really good these days and WWE would ruin 90% of the roster, just let them have the old guys who are past their prime for NXT like they have been doing the last year.

I agree with all of that apart from the part where you say that WWE would ruin 90% of the roster. They've used Ciampa, Cedric and TJ Perkins way, way better than the indie promotions they signed them from. There's no reason to believe they would do the likes of Zema Ion and Eddie Edwards a disservice.

  7. ROH are the worst wrestling promotion in the world in terms of elevating talent. Look at how many of their guys have gone to bigger and better things once leaving, both to bigger ponds (WWE), smaller ponds (EVOLVE) and similar-sized ponds (TNA).

It's impossible to believe that this promotion failed to do anything significant with Tommaso Ciampa and Cedric Alexander. Michael Elgin has done his career best work since leaving too (well, he's still part-time ROH) and Moose and Michael Bennett have both been given better opportunities in TNA instead of working the same six man tag on every major show.

  13.
I wanted a look that corresponds with most of the other renders I have in the mod so here's a Sid Streets that I frankensteined together using MJStark's free picture pack and Asaemon's prop pack. Hopefully somebody can find some kind of use from it.

    End Of Second Year

PGHW won Company Of The Year... but somehow went bankrupt in the final month of the year! Must have owed money to the Yakuza. That means that despite being named Wrestler Of The Year with 10 A* rated matches and a neat average of A, Nobuatsu Tatsuko is now unemployed.

In the US, SWF continue to amass an insane roster that now boasts James Justice, Sean McFly, Chris Caulfield, Brent Hill (also booker), Wolf Hawkins, Tyson Baine, Ricky Dale Johnson, Eddie Peak, Eddie Chandler, Rick Law, Troy Tornado and Tim Westybrook. Yeah, TCW have Tommy Cornell and Peter Valentine on their books and that's about it.

Project X Wrestling In The Power 500!

Marc Speed didn't make the grade after only working eight matches in the year. He averaged C, but he's paid $600+ per appearance so sometimes I leave him off shows to try and make a profit. I'm frustrated because he's the kind of guy that needs to be signed by a major promotion right now. He's too good which means he's too expensive for me but nobody else is hiring the guy so of course it makes sense to keep him on my books. Once I grow a bit more I'm sure he'll be a god send because he pulls in consistent B-level match grades. The only issue is that he has bad chemistry with my top guy Raphael which means the two can't have the kind of rivalry that I wish they could have.

    454 - Jeremy Jazz

I was close to letting Jazz go but he's made steady improvements and is now giving me E+ match performances. He's decent enough for the under card but too inconsistent for a sustained push even in a local promotion.

    451 - TJ Bailey

Like Jazz, Bailey is always steadily improving. He's mainly cannon fodder at this point, he puts over Heels that are going for title matches. Bailey did impress in a title match against champion Raphael, a performance that probably saved his job because I don't have to pay his downside when I don't use him and I know I can safely go back to that match in the new year.

    448 - DeCipher

Found himself losing to Idol three times as well as a defeat to Raphael. That's about all he did to be honest... I've been moderately impressed by his work but his attitude stinks. Once he improves his attitude I can justify giving him a bit of a push.

    390 - Jordan Joyce

I worked Raphael as a face then turned heel on him. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I've improved to be a top guy in PXW and I'm looking forward to working Brendan Idol and new signing Lightning Lomas in the new year. I'm bad at running this cocky gimmick but hopefully I'll get better at that and playing a heel so I will be of better use to a bigger promotion in a few years time.

    366 - Brendan Idol

Signing to USPW may have actually hurt his chances of placing higher. Their pop > performance product means he's mainly worked E grade matches there as opposed to C grade matches he's worked for me. With a face champion, Idol has to had to settle into the role as the secondary face star and he's been lost in the shuffle for most of the year.

    316 - Raphael

Clocked higher than the Indie Wrestler Of The Year who didn't even make the Power 500, explain that one. Raphael is my top guy, he can carry literally anybody and now averages B to B+ match performances. He held the Project X Prodigy title for the entirety of 2007, retaining against Marc Speed at Chapter 25. I'm stunned that nobody has come in for him but I guess the fog of war scouting levels is keeping him off SWF and TCW's radar. A great talent, he's in no danger of being usurped as the king of the mountain any time soon.

    End Of Year Roll

    18. "Fists of Fury" You have devoted your holiday season to training in the ring +5 to your Brawling skill

Considering the stat was at 43 beforehand, that's quite nifty. I'm progressing just fine, perhaps better than Derek above me. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

  15. I don't know why, but Ambrose reminds me of Roddy Piper....maybe it's the "crazy" gimmick but whenever I see him, Piper is the first guy to pop in my head. I think Ambrose is great in the ring and has good mic skills, but there is something about him that I just don't like and I just can't figure it out.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that just can't bring themselves to like him. I think any kind of edge he had during The Shield has been totally softened out by the WWE machine, he was at least somewhat authentic back then but the incessant need for buzz words to sell merchandise has killed any kind of counter-culture appeal he may have had. He's gone from being a wild brawler with an unconventional demeanor to wacky Dean Ambrose with the wacky line in the Ambrose Asylum!!!

...just typing that made me feel a little antsy, imagine coming up with that in a creative team meeting and being able to sleep at night.

  16.

End Of First Year

PGHW took home nearly half of the awards with 16 A* rated matches and 30 A* rated events. They've closed right in on Burning Hammer and should usurp them as the top promotion in Japan soon. Meanwhile, every Australian promotion has gone bankrupt with MWF closing at the end of December. SWF are still the world's top promotion but Skull DeBones as Champ isn't working out. He was actually bumped from the main event of Christmas Clash facing Eric Eisen so Rich Money & Remo vs. Christian Faith & James Justice could headline.

So that's saved me from bankruptcy at least! But on the other hand, that doesn't help me as a worker very much...

    http://i.imgur.com/YCCzrbG.jpg

I think I'm progressing pretty nicely, I'm especially liking that 52 Psychology stat for obvious reasons. My best match was a C- against Marc Speed with an average rating of E+ for the year. It probably doesn't help that I only worked Marc Speed twice and didn't work Idol or Raphael. I was stuck with Huey Cannonball, Frankie Dee and Puma Boy for most of the year. This year I will turn heel to bump that performance stat up and have a few matches with Idol and Raphael, the top two faces in the promotion.
