  1. I dont mind end zone dances but Deshaun Jackson has proven time and time again that he is a fool. It was funny when he was showboating and gave up the ball prior to getting to the end zone and having the other team recover. He did something similiar in a high school all american game where he did a flip before getting to the end zone and lost the ball. Great talent with much to learn.
  2. You know it's a conspiracy, right?

The NFL, so worried that Favre's shoulder might make him miss the game, conjured up a weather machine, trapping the New York Giants in Kansas City, and collapsing the roof of the Metrodome, to give Brett more time to heal! It's madness!

On the upside, someone leaked pictures of the Commish in his super-villain outfit, for when he uses said weather machine, and it's a little thunder cloud in a helmet. Adorable!

I'm miffed, to be honest, since I was gonna get a shot to see that game, and being a Giants fan in Florida, it's not an option afforded to me often. Stupid weather ruining my prime viewing habits. Darn you! *shakes fist!*

Search channel surf on your web browser. You just might be able to find the game on that site;) or any other Giant game you may want to watch in the future.

  3. The Patriots are just so well coached.

Early in the season it looked like it might be a rebuilding season for the Pats with that defense that looked real bad right away and trading of Moss. Now 10 weeks later Moss looks done and the Pats defense is putting in dominant efforts most weeks.

  4. That being said if you're looking to see a title booked as "real sports championship" then why would you be looking at the WWE or TNA? Thats like saying I want ROH to be more like the WWE. If thats what I want then watch the WWE, if I want the WWE to be more like ROH then I should watch ROH. Just like in the C Verse there are options for everyone.

Id probably like ROH better but I have the slightest idea on how or where Id watch it. Its been talked about repeatedly but I cant even comment on it because Ive never seen it on TV.

  5. I think people are too used to the Sheamus, Randy Orton, Triple H heel world champions where they are dominant in the ring and out.

You guys that are complaining about Miz looking bad against Lawler aren't thinking from the right point of view.

You guys are saying Lawler is a sixty year old man The Miz shouldn't have nearly lost to a sixty year old man.

From a FANS perspective its classic story telling. Hell didn't they do this with Bret last year in Minnesota? The Old Gun Slinger coming back for a shot at one last championship before he leaves. Did it make the other QB's look silly when 40 year old Bret was out playing them? Of course not because its sports and sometimes in sports we rise up above what we're capable of in order to win a championship.

The WWE hyped up Lawler's legendary career, they had the backstage stuff with him, the fans already like him on commentary, he's been around forever and I bet he's been on more RAW's than anybody else.

They didn't see it as Miz getting kicked around by an old man, they saw it as Miz screwing a fan favorite out of his life long dream.

What about Ric Flair? Did anybody complain that he nearly beat Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania? Ric was nearly in his sixities at that time.

Anyway I like The Miz because its a different champion. How long has it been since we had a by hook or by crook champion? I'm sick of the dominant, champions.

On a side note Alex Riley is getting really good on the mic pretty quick. He's clearly comfortable in his role.

Well Brett Favre or Ric Flair hadnt been retired for almost 20 years when they came back. I dont feel the comparison is close. Ive seen the King wrestle in a random pay per view here and there over the past 10 years and he usually looked just terrible NOW they are booking that same person to look like he can beat the current WWE champion. Makes no sense to me.

I will never understand why people like weak champions. The last thing I want if Im buying a PPV is a show headlined by someone that needs 4 run-ins to keep his title every match.

IMO it makes the belt a complete joke. I realize its not suppose to be a "real" sport but Id like it much more if they'd tried to keep it in the general ballpark of a "real" sport.

Its an idea Ive been tossing around for a TEW dynasty. Booking a fed as a real sport instead of a soap opera with multiple run ins and over the top storylines.

  6. The fact they had you believing The King could win is justice to the match and to the performers in there. On paper if you could bet on wrestling im sure the odds and betting would be very in favour in The Miz winning so the fact they had you doubting it is testiment to the match. And although King did not do much he did enough to make it entertaining.

I thought the way the match was being hyped it was going to end up in favor of Jerry.

Miz talking about how he was going to have the longest title reign in history. Michael Cole repeatedly saying the King had no chance. The fact that is was the Kings birthday.

  8. You really narrowed it down there.

And they were right, over the last two years the NFC East was the/one of the best divisions. Its not like thats not allowed to change year to year. :p

The last couple of years, it WAS a strong division. It isn't now.

But I don't think I'd say the NFC North is any better. And - in general - the AFC is just stacked.

The NFC East was terrible last year actually. The top teams in the NFC East were beaten badly by the top teams in the other divisions. If that doesnt say enough on its own the Vikings 34-3 thrashing of Dallas in the playoffs should send that message.

They've been overrated for a few years now. That division as a whole plays the worst defense in the NFL. Eagles, Giants, and Redskins are like going through paper mache.

  9. Okay BHK we talked earlier about why pitchers don't want to go to Texas to pitch

    Here are Lee's numbers now

    Before Trade

    13 games started, 8-3, 2.34 ERA, 89 SO, 6 BB, 5 HR's, .231 BAA, .95 WHIP, 5 CG, 1 Shutout, 91 hits, 31R, 27 ER, 103.2 innings. with 109.2 pitches avg per game.

    After Trade

    13 games started ERA 3.19, 12-8, 174 SO, 16 BB, 16 HR's, .240 BAA, 1.00 WHIP, 7 CG, 1 Shutout, 185 Hits, 71 ER, 79 R, 200 innings 107.2 pitches per game.

I think what you meant to say is since the trade he is 4-5 4.10 ERA. 4-6 after tonight it is looking.

  13. Packers scored 45 points in a first round playoff game and still lost. I havent heard much Green Bay super bowl talk but if there really is that going on its far too early.

They were swept in their division by the Vikings.

They lost their first round playoff game with a defense that was torched for 51 points.

I actually cant say any of the strong teams are looking that great at this point. The Vikings have major injury problems, the Cowboys offense looks competely out of it, I think the Saints year was last year, Colts have the Super Bowl hangover, Chargers lost a lot in the offseason but do play in a very weak division.

If I had to take a stab at it. I would go Saints vs Ravens with the Ravens winning.

  14. I have no problems with a team doing what it needs to win. I find the Spurs more boring than either the last 80's Pistons or the late 90's Knicks probably because Duncan has no personality on the court. I wish the NBA would move the rims up to 11 feet so we can watch real basketball again. The athletes in the NBA today are too athletic and tall for 10 foot rims.

I tend to enjoy college hoops much more as it is a team game where the NBA is too much individual play for my liking.

  15. people are talking about the lineup looking like this

    PG: James

    SG: Wade

    SF: Miller

    PF: Haslem

    C: Bosh

I would feel bad for any PG who had to cover Lebron lol or get covered by Lebron.

Why would Lebron play point? Wouldn't Wade or Chalmers play point on this team?

  16. Wow this has gotten crazy. ESPN poll question today.

Who has done more to damage their reputation in the past year?

    A Tiger Woods

    B Lebron James

That is just insane. I dont agree with the decision he made and dont respect how he did it but I am not sure how these are even comparable.

  17. Correct

The biggest reason I am bitter about this signing is Wade is my favoritie player in the NBA. As much as I wanted to see him get help I didnt want Lebron on his team because it will overshadow how great of a player DWade is. I wanted them on seperate teams so in 5-10 years they could be judged individually. Sorry if Ive come accross the wrong way in this thread.

  18. Don't be shocked to have LeBron run point in the 4th quarter of close games.

You accuse me of not watching LeBron play and tell me that he and Wade are pretty much the same player.

    I LOL at you!

Tell me the difference then big shot? They both gamble and make a lot of steals on defense, they both can cover up for mistakes by blocking shots. IN fact Wade is probably the best I have ever seen at blocking shots for his size.

On offense they both use ball screens to look for penetration lanes to get to the hoop. Wade has a slightly better mid range shot while James has more range but isnt consistent. They use penetration to open up passing lanes to get other players open and are both capable rebounders. They are probably the 2 best finishers in the game. They are both average FT shooters.

James is better at exploiting matchups because of his size but Wade has always seemed like a player you can depend on late in the game. In other words the size of James and the heart of Wade are the two biggest differences I see in the two.

Please tell me what I have missed that you have seen?

And of course James will have the ball in his hands in 4th quarters of close games. That isnt some new development. Im sure Wade and James will both see a lot of ball late in close games depending on who is making more shots. Its a nice situation they have.

  19. LeBron isn't MJ, he isn't that great of a scorer. He's a freak and a great finisher. But he isn't very good at creating a shot (or making a shot) which is the most important aspect of being a scorer. I think he's closer to Magic since he's is an amazing playmaker. I think that LeBron runs point in Miami. Wade is a great scorer, LeBron is a great playmaker. Put them both together and you can't defend them. Not to mention Bosh.

    LeBron

    Wade

    Miller

    Bosh

    Really big white guy

    Recipe for success.

James wont run the point. Wade will play the 2 and James will play the 3. I expect Miller to come off the bench while Chalmers plays the point. If Miller starts Wade will play the point.

I have a hard time believing you have seem much of James play if you dont think he can create his own shot. He can get a shot whenever he wants. Im not sure what a great scorer is anymore it seems. James is 1st among active players in points per game. Wade and James are pretty much the same player except James is a half foot taller.

  20. Im not talking about pure statistics. Lebron can put up triple double numbers without hardly breaking a sweat. Lebron puts up numbers better than Magic Johnson playing in a slow paced offense.

My point is put Lebrons body with Jordans mindset and his team wouldnt lose no matter how bad his other players were. Lebron is capable of so much more than he has shown to date.

And I agree Hakeem was the most physically gifted center we have seen.

  21.

I still think it's too early to call, in 2 or 3 years yes but not yet. He could very easily end up with more rings then most of those guys.

I agree that it is too early to say Lebron cant find a way to will his teams to win. He pretty much did it in the Detroit series a couple of years ago. It is just that he doesnt seem to be able to up his level and will on a consistent basis.

This may just be me being extremely rough on a 25 year old but IMO he is the most talented player to ever step on the court. It just bothers me that he was unable to win a championship with Cleveland and is now heading a different direction. Lebron is a once in a lifetime talent and I just wish he would show it in a different way. Players should be coming to play with him not the other way around.

I'm disappointed because he could have been an icon. I think that has now passed him by with this decision.
