  1. I think it might depend on size and/or perception level. I get road agent or spider sense ("You sense that....") popups for people with 64 psychology so there has to be more to it.
  2. That depends on the rest of your 'major stars'. 80 may be fine if everyone else is say 77-84 or so. I had an incident where I poached Raven Nightfall and got her to 71 popularity and 'major star' when everyone else was 68-78 in that tier. But when Alicia Strong (who I had poached previously and who started at 74 popularity when she joined us) hit 83, Raven dropped down to 'star'. It's just like previous TEWs with people bouncing from upper midcarder to main eventer (with autopush). I think it has to do with the average of the other people at that perception level. Raven's partner (Devil's Daughter) stayed at 'major star' at 74 but Raven dropped to 'star' with her 72. I think if Spencer is beating other major stars, he'll keep the average down so he's still a major star. Plus, it's also possible for him to bounce above 80 temporarily before coming back down to his cap (or so the handbook says).
  3. Bull is right. This year's contract system in fubar with regards to numbers. Workers take inferior offers simply because they overvalue the event bonus. Here's my example (from the other thread Bull mentioned - click to expand): http://i.imgur.com/aKvZnJhm.jpg The worker took CWA's offer even though it's vastly inferior. The signing bonus alone is more than 10 times the total value of the other offer. As a manager pushing 40 years old, my offer gave straight up financial security all the way to probable retirement age. Prorate it and it's essentially $460,000 a year as a guaranteed minimum. Merch is icing. In sports terms, she gave CWA a massive hometown discount. I don't generally give out per event bonuses in contracts because I always give the entire roster a bonus after each event, depending on how well the show did. So she turned down a $10,000-$50,000 per event bonus.....for a $4242 per month (CWA doesn't run more than one event per month - I do). Besides, it also is open to exploitation. If you can offer a worker a lower per month salary and just give them a big event bonus, how much do they earn if you don't use them on events? But Bull is correct, that's exactly how it works. Match the event bonus and you're likely to win the bid.
  4. Yeah and what makes it even better is that you can tweak it as patches come out and change things. You do know that if you're not happy with the challenge of the game, you can adjust it, yes? I think what would have even more value and would make for a more "realistic" challenge is a meddlesome owner that changes your entire card on the day of the show. Maybe just scrambles the card so what used to be your world title main event match now becomes your opening match and your nostalgia match in the middle of the card is now the main event. Tailor made for real world mods!
  5. Is this something that the game should do, given the fact that the user is given the option to do it themselves? I mean, it seems simple to turn the feature off until such time as you're comfortable with your personnel and then turn it back on.

It would be impossible to do that weekly unless you have several super high heat guys and ONLY feature those guys, as the original poster has had to do. If the game mechanics for a time slot that's available basically force you to abandon lower-end main eventers and upper midcarders and midcarders, I think it seems like there's a potential balance issue, or something wrong with the system.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I was going to respond to this part but PGHJuice hit the nail on the head.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="PGHJuice" data-cite="PGHJuice" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="50505" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>It’s almost TOO easy to get consistently good ratings this year using main event spotlight and tight focus settings.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I thought maybe I was the only one who noticed this.</p>

Not sure if that affects the popularity growth.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It doesn't. All the size cap means is that once you get to the top of Medium, you won't be able to earn any more popularity. You will have maxed out. But that's fine because MAW at Medium would be an absolute powerhouse in their strongest regions. Think about the gate receipts from packed 8,000 seat arenas. That <em>would</em> be old school since that's about 2,000 more seats than the Louisville Gardens in Kentucky and Cornette goes on and on about how much various promotions made from the gate in that place.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="robberbaronn" data-cite="robberbaronn" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47577" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I got MAW to small in November 2021. Give I'm still pretty new to TEW overall, I feel pretty good about that.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You have every right to. Better than me when I first started, bankrupting companies six straight saves.</p><p> </p><p> While MAW is 'new player friendly', it may not be quite as forgiving as some other promotions (USPW, CZCW). The TCW linkup makes it a lot easier but I haven't seen that relationship last past 2022 in my watcher saves. Those hiring rules are tough now that the likes of DWN, Philippe LaGrenier, etc are over 30.</p>
  8. So I love your QAW event logos and they're default for me now. But I have a private request I'll PM to you.
  9. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Bull" data-cite="Bull" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="48167" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Not sure if it was introduced in a patch, but something that I've noticed in more recent patches is that those per event bonuses seem to have a pretty high value to people. You might wanna try adding, even just a 10% per event bonus, and see if she comes around. . I've offered people tens of thousands of dollars in excess of the next best offer and the opposition is still the preferred option, but then just matching that bonus will swing them my way.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That seems pretty daft tbh. Then again, I'm definitely looking at it from a sports perspective. That event bonus is NLTBE (not likely to be earned) in real terms since she'd have to work an event to earn that bonus (and as a manager, that's not guaranteed). It's like giving someone a Ballon D'Or bonus when they play for Middlesbrough.</p><p> </p><p> But you're probably right. Workers don't look at total value or guaranteed money, they look at little bonuses that pale in comparison. Heh, I can use that to my advantage in future. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Use a worker every week on TV but just bench them for PPVs. I refrained from offering bonuses because I tend to give the entire roster a bonus after every PPV (or during, if I'm using alliance champions on loan for the event).</p>
  10. Apparently, Little Miss Perfect has a ridiculously high destiny value in this save because vets at the top of the card keep asking to put her over. http://i.imgur.com/U3iXpsfm.jpg First she had a short program with Suzanne Brazzle and went over clean. Now Missy (who is literally at the very top of the card, alongside Alicia Strong, Danielle, Alina, and Emma May) is offering to 'do the honors' twice! Brazzle took LMP from 'recognizable' to high 'well known'. Two wins over Missy will catapult her into 'Major Star' territory.
  11. How many 60 minute Broadways were they having in that period though? Long matches were more the exception than the norm and with world class workers (who should be the only people participating in those matches), even the penalty wouldn't ruin things, no?
  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Thane of Fife" data-cite="Thane of Fife" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47811" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>So, I found where it tells you if a product is on-trend. If you go to a company's profile (not the office page) and click on their Product, then the bottom right of the screen will tell you if their product is currently on trend.<p> </p><p> Doing some very basic checking, it looks like products are not mutually exclusive. So, USPW's Family Friendly Pro Wrestling product is trending both with Age of Innocence and Age of Nostalgia. Classic Sports Entertainment looks similar. QAW trends with Age of Memes. ZEN trends with Age of Innocence. Age of Personality only seems to help RAW of the companies I've looked at. Fast and Furious trends with Age of Realism.</p><p> </p><p> It looks like Age of Innocence would help ZEN and APW but not RAW.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Ah, thank you! Looking at it now, it seems to make sense. Though I did notice that Guerrilla Warfare doesn't trend with anything but Grindhouse Lucha Libre (EMLL) trends with Meme when I would've thought it would trend with Extreme.</p>
  13. Era setting - product trends Was going over my mod and ran into a spot of bother. For product trends, I'm pretty sure 'Age of Personality' refers to SE type products (and/or anything with 'episodic' in its name). Age of Nostalgia would seem to apply to anything with 'classic' in its name. But what would 'Age of Memes' refer to? I'm trying to set up the British Isles area as the traditional catch wrestling bastion, which I would think would be 'Age of Realism', but I wanted to also make Oceania a viable area. Age of Personality would make RAW a powerhouse, I'm guessing, while maybe Age of Innocence would work better for APW and ZEN. But I'm wondering if maybe Age of Memes would work better for ZEN?
  14. Look at the list. I'm positive a generic TV title is in the cards:
  15. Just a simple suggestion to add business and booking skill/reputation to the search box. There is currently no way, outside of the in-game editor, to search for workers who could possibly be used for owner and/or booker roles. This is problematic if you're starting a developmental company or simply want to replace the staff of an acquired promotion. Doesn't have to be a new field in the search screen. I wouldn't imagine it would be used enough to justify that. Maybe just add it as an attribute (Potential Owner, Potential Booker).
  16. Exactly! It's a very different culture. Their companies aren't solely predicated on profit. The NIKKEI isn't going to frown on them for holding cash in reserve instead of chasing some rainbow. Investing in making their existing content more accessible (via dubbing in multiple languages) was an excellent use of time and resources over the last several months.
  17. Using those workers in the preshow will hasten their development, allow you to control who gets pushed, and just overall give you more control. I hold a complete show in my preshows (complete with preshow/tertiary titles) and have since the preshow time was expanded. It's a great way to develop talent and gather information on prospects. In my current save, I'm at Medium with more than enough money to start and fully staff a developmental company but I haven't because my method works a bit better. (Plus, I want Lauren Easter to run it and her contract doesn't expire for another year) Think about it. You have time available to book your prospects in angles and matches that have zero bearing on your main show. You can check for chemistry and develop popularity to the point where when you actually have use for someone, they come premade with the level of popularity that makes them useful immediately. This is assuming you're running your shows primarily from your home region (which I do, even at medium). I believe 'recent fortunes' are still a thing so if a person has a reputation for counting the lights, you may need to reverse those fortunes before they're easily pushable. Without the 'enhancement talent' and 'opener' pushes (which previously were used to make workers immune to those types of losses with regard to recent fortunes), I would guess that unimportant would be the equivalent. I know you don't get penalized for recognizable vs unimportant matches, which seems a parallel to lower midcarder vs opener/enhancement talent in TEW16. EDIT: Speaking of, is it a safe assumption to correlate old push levels with perception like this: Unimportant = Enhancement talent & Opener Recognizable = Lower Midcarder Well Known = Midcarder Star = Upper Midcarder Major Star = Main Eventer Or is that an oversimplification?
  18. Yikes! I didn't even notice that. My apologies! I set my era at the database level but never even thought to check it later.
  19. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="El Gordo" data-cite="El Gordo" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="50477" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Where can I find out what product types are trending in which regions? It used to be in the game world menu but I don't see it anymore.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That's because it doesn't exist.</p>
  20. <p>Episodic Lucha Libre.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> It allows me to use all the worker styles I want (even psychopaths). I allows me to use all the match types I want. It has an angle ratio I can live with. There are no outright hindrances to stunt my growth. It's a powder puff product so I don't have to worry about killing my workers.</p>
  21. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="ArtofAlmost" data-cite="ArtofAlmost" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="50476" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Owner. All the way.<p> </p><p> Whenever I've had owner goals they've always been so vague so as to preclude me from hiring almost anyone.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This. </p><p> </p><p> I've always hated owner goals because I always get the weirdest ones or ones that fly in the face of what I want to focus on. Like, I'm a talent developer so when I get an owner goal that says I can't hire people with less than X in Y trait, it pisses me off. Getting highly rated shows is easy. But getting someone, even someone as obviously talented as Black Diamond or Katya, to Alicia Strong levels of virtuosity, is not.</p>
  22. I already have my own. I don't take over an existing worker because I honestly don't like most of the non-wrestling men in the C-Verse and my UC is always a non-wrestler. Playing an in-ring worker is something I only do with my 'homeless business owner challenge' kinds of things (i.e. local to global with pocket lint for money).
  23. <p><a href="https://imgur.com/utoNXar" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i.imgur.com/utoNXarm.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p> Not that big a deal, right? Oh but it seems like some work has been done on the AI with regard to worker contracts and such. She turned down a far superior offer to re-sign with the Titanic of the C-Verse:</p><p> </p><p> <a href="https://imgur.com/aKvZnJh" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i.imgur.com/aKvZnJht.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p> She's dating Lee Rivera so even though I offered more money and better future prospects and possibly a better backstage environment, maybe the relationship overruled all that.</p>
