W4 June 2020 New Mei Sports Stadium @ Kansai, Japan Attendance: 7.316, Rating: 77, Views: 49.064 (0.06 on Shogun TV) The American Cobras vs The Diamond Dogs After consistently impressing with their performances (and only recently having lost the COTT World Tag Team titles to CZCW's Going Coastal) Marvel Malloy and Storm Spillane were given a chance to shine in a proper tag team match, without other teammates on their side. Their opponents in this opening contest were The Diamond Dogs, former stars -and champions- in both APW and SAISHO, now members of Okamoto-gun. Both teams have spent their entire careers together, so this was a showcase of teamwork and double tap spots to warm up the audience straight out the gates, with enough high flying to get reactions but also Spillane to ground things down for more traditionalists with his high impact striking and slams. A pretty open, competitive match too that packed a lot of excitement in the ten or so minutes it lasted, this one ended with the Cobras teaming up to hit the Cobra Strike on Kuroda for the pin. In a bout that had great wrestling but didn't have much heat, The American Cobras defeated The Diamond Dogs in 10:14 when Marvel Malloy pinned Motty Kuroda with a Cobra Strike. [65] Atto Savage & Ragnarok vs Funakoshi & Roku Sotomura Whether explicitly stated or implied, Funakoshi's group is the de facto faction of BCG loyalists and this match told the story of them fighting a battle against the invaders of Dread Army. Ragnarok's first big match in Black Canvas, this was an opportunity for the Icelander to showcase his power and brawling skill. In turn, this allowed his partner to tone down the "brutish foreigner" antics and display his own technical prowess, as well as the occasional basic aerial spot like a splash or senton to round out their offence. The two men used the classic tactic of cutting the ring in half as they avoided Funakoshi and sought to isolate the older Sotomura on their corner. Once the hot tag was made however, Funakoshi cleaned house with a barrage of chops, forearms, elbows, kicks and knee strikes although he was unable to lift someone up and deliver the Butterfly Backbreaker as well. This allowed the Dread Army team to exploit the opening and get back into the match, in turn letting the battle-hardened veteran Sotomura to showcase his fighting spirit against all odds, to the point where he was able to catch Savage in a Twisted Bow and Arrow. Funakoshi rushed in to dropkick Ragnarok off the apron and with nowhere to go, no one to save him, Savage was forced to submit. In a decent match, Funakoshi and Roku Sotomura defeated Atto Savage and Ragnarok in 14:50 when Roku Sotomura submitted Atto Savage with a Twisted Bow And Arrow. [50] BCG World Tag Team titles match 14th Champions The Horror vs Challengers Yokokawa & Sen First title match of the night and if anyone expected the veterans to take things easy, they were in for a surprise. Yokokawa and Sen rushed into the match, apparently looking to catch the champions off guard and gain an early advantage. This set the tone for the rest of the match, a frantic back and forth with no one pausing to catch their breath or opting to utilize anything that could be considered a rest hold. Action, action all the time, which made for a pretty exciting match, as well as an interesting story since the more this went on, the more exhausted the challengers looked, something the champions would realize and capitalize on to turn the tables and eventually flatten Yokokawa with an Apocalypse Blast to retain. In a bout that had superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, The Horror defeated Yokokawa & Sen in 16:13 when Monstrosity pinned Nobuharu Yokokawa with an Apocalypse Blast. The Horror make defence number two of the BCG World Tag Team titles. [71] Challengers Series Medallions match Rokuemon Matsushita vs Tanyu Toshusai As was to be expected, Toshusai focused his attacks on his opponent's bruised hip and it allowed him to immediately level the playing field against the much larger Matsushita. Big Roku's mobility was limited, as was his ability to lift, hold up and slam anyone, which did somewhat damage his performance but also helped him garner sympathy from the audience. This was particularly emphasized in the finishing stretch: Toshusai couldn't lift up his opponent for any of his finishing moves, while Matsushita struggled with his One-Arm Chokeslam, to the point where he chose to switch to the less impressive standard version utilizing both arms. Again, a spiking pain blocked him from executing it and Toshusai responded by popping his hips to wrap his legs around one arm, taking Matsushita down into a flying armbar very reminiscent of Furusawa's for the tap. In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Tanyu Toshusai defeated Rokuemon Matsushita in 9:39 by submission. Tanyu Toshusai wins the Medallion #2. Tanyu Toshusai makes defence number three of the Medallion #3. [63] Challengers Series Medallions match Lion Genji vs Tanyu Toshusai After the Matsushita match, facing an opponent of equal size and all-around skill in Genji allowed Toshusai to also showcase his own abilities better, making for some superb back and forth wrestling. This was an absolute clinic from start to finish and it almost stole the show, as it delivered everything BCG fans like: hard strikes, technical prowess, submissions, mat grappling, selling, intensity and fighting spirit from two men looking to beat the crap out of each other. Genji really pushed his opponent to bring out the best in him, while Toshusai's selling was all about the lingering damage from his prior match. This led to several moments of Genji allowing his opponent to recuperate (and Toshusai's selling to shine) as he wanted him at his best, honourably skipping the chances to jump a wounded opponent, which in turn earned him the respect of the fans by the time he hit his dreaded Fusion Reactor to win. In a bout that had superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Lion Genji defeated Tanyu Toshusai in 14:23 by pinfall with a Fusion Reactor. Lion Genji wins the Medallion #2. Lion Genji wins the Medallion #3. Lion Genji makes defence number three of the Medallion #1. [78] BCG Challengers Series title match FEAR vs Lion Genji Anyone going up against FEAR was guaranteed to be cheered, but Genji's antics in the previous match generated even more passionate support for him as he sought to unseat the champion. FEAR was his usual intimidating dominant self, an attitude that has led many to see him as the top candidate to eventually unseat Findlay in the spot of BCG's top gaijin. Not as exciting or evenly spread out as its predecessor, this match still delivered hard hits and big bombs, the final one being the Fear Drive that marked the champion's second title defence, bringing him one step closer to a shot at the BCG World title. In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, FEAR defeated Lion Genji in 16:23 by pinfall with a Fear Drive. FEAR makes defence number two of the BCG Challengers Series. [62] Okamoto-gun (Dynamite Narahashi, Yoshizawa & Miura) vs Pillars of Puroresu (Mabuchi Furusawa, SUKI and Masashi Urogataya) Albeit a decent match, there was no mistaking this as somewhat of a breather between the final two title bouts giving all six men a chance to be on the card. Having so many people involved allowed for several break ups of pinning predicaments and submission situations, which in turn kept the flow of it going for nearly fifteen minutes until the surprise and somewhat sudden finish of Narahashi getting a quick pin with a cradle on Urogataya. In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Okamoto-gun (Dynamite Narahashi, Inejiro Yoshizawa and Noritoshi Miura) defeated Pillars of Puroresu (Mabuchi Furusawa, SUKI and Masashi Urogataya) in 15:36 when Dynamite Narahashi pinned Masashi Urogataya with a quick cradle. [73] Sole Survivor Four Way Elimination match Big Bruiser Findlay vs Blast Ikoma vs Razan Okamoto vs Yoshinaka Taku BCG's only multi man singles match each year, Sole Survivor is always welcome as a fresh change of pace and featuring some of the top competitors on the roster only helps it be even more exciting. All four men took the time to put together a classic slow burner of a bout, with Taku's sense of urgency to prove himself and fill in for the injured Torii amping up the excitement. Unfortunately for him, this eagerness exposed him to several mistakes and he was the first elimination, courtesy of an Atomic Spinebuster from Findlay. From there, Ikoma and Okamoto would team up against the Big Bruiser, wearing him down with strikes to counter his massive strength advantage. Findlay bounced back with a huge double lariat and almost eliminated Okamoto before Ikoma broke up the pin to pick up Findlay for a ring shaking Northern Lights Bomb and the pin. Down to Ikoma and Okamoto from there on, the match played out much like a classic BCG main event, building towards a climax as the two competitors used their selling and fighting spirit for the escalation. Ikoma seemed hellbent on claiming back to back wins and hopefully moving on to bring the World title back to the Seven Samurai, but it was Okamoto who managed to score the pin in the end, earning himself the shot against Furusawa in a rematch of their Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix block finals from April. In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Razan Okamoto defeated Yoshinaka Taku, Blast Ikoma and Big Bruiser Findlay in 32:29. The order of elimination was Yoshinaka Taku first, then Big Bruiser Findlay and finally, Blast Ikoma. Razan Okamoto wins the BCG Sole Survivor. [79] After the match, Yoshifusa Maeda presented the trophy to the winner and Okamoto got to address the fans, thanking them for their support and wrapping up the show to send them home happy. [69]</div> <div style="padding: 15px; border: 3px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #2C2A2A; max-width:60%;box-shadow: 0 6px 12px ";">Post show interviews and comments Okamoto: "This is a huge moment and I'm delighted to hold this trophy again. It's been a long time since the first Sole Survivor match and you might remember I won that to eventually claim the World title from Torii then. I plan to do it again and unlike our Grand Prix match, I will not make the same mistakes. Mabuchi Furusawa, when we meet in the ring again, you're going down this time." Taku: "I did my best to live up to the expectations, despite being a last minute addition to this match, mind you. I can only wish Bunrakuken Torii a speedy recovery, in the meantime I'll do my best to lead Dawnguard in his absence" Furusawa: "Whoever won the main event would have made for one hell of a challenger. I'm ready for Okamoto, but I have to say I was also proud of the effort Tanyu Toshusai put in tonight." FEAR: "One more of these and I'm coming for the World title. Dread Army has come to dominate and once we hold all the gold in this place, you will learn to live in fear!"</div>

  3. Piledriver Wrestling presents March Into Battle 1998 Wednesday, Week 1, March 1998 Live from Atlanta, GA Announcers: Dennis Sims and Micky Starr The show began with Cherry Bomb making her entrance, but she didn't bother with her usual routine. Instead, she marched straight to the ring and motioned for her music (Cherry Bomb by The Runaways, obviously) to be cut so she could speak. Bomb: "Last month, a woman by the name of Miss Mexico wrestled in this ring. Ever since, I've been bombarded with that name everywhere I turn. Now, Miss Mexico, I won't deny you've got some moves, but let me make this perfectly clear: you're no title contender. You're not even the alpha redhead in this locker room. All you are is the flavor of the month and if you come out here to face me, I'll kick you all the way back to February where you belong because I am the future of women's wrestling in this company!" Cherry Bomb vs Miss Mexico Miss Mexico answered the challenge and surprised her opponent with her speed, giving her the early advantage until Bomb caught her with a clothesline to turn her inside out. From there, Cherry Bomb proceeded to beat down the newcomer with strikes, throwing in plenty of insults in between. Miss Mexico had a few hope spots where she got shut down, until she found herself in a powerbomb position and managed to reverse it using a huracanrana. From there, she began making her comeback and eventually hit the Red Head Press to win. Winner: Miss Mexico, by pinfall Archangel vs Black Eagle The facepainted man who rescued Blue Sky last month was introduced as Archangel and fans who'd bothered to look up wrestling newsletters in the meantime would know that he used to work for Trenton Everund's ill-fated Awesome Max Wrestling in the past. Both men showcased a solid grasp of the basics and a good technical foundation, but where Eagle went for big aerial moves as the match went on, Archangel remained grounded and opted to brawl with his opponent. There was certainly a sense of heat between the two, maybe even a hint of hatred from Eagle, and the match would soon spill outside the ring, with Archangel getting dirty to get the job done while Eagle launched himself off the apron, the barricade and anything else he could use. It was during one of those spots where Archangel managed to catch and slam him to the hard ground, damaging both himself and his target. The dramatic count saw them struggle to get up and although Archangel made it back inside the ropes by the count of nine, Black Eagle couldn't. Winner: Archangel, by count out PDW Tag Team titles match The Young Guns © vs The Peak Brothers Ever since losing the titles in November, the Peak Brothers have been on a quest to reclaim them and finally they got their rematch here against the team that beat them for the gold. As usual, Doug and Eddie brought some great teamwork and a good dose of hardcore ultraviolence to the bout, with Young Guns struggling to survive the initial onslaught before they could attempt to respond with their own offence. Some 15 minutes into the match, Guide and Scout jumped the guardrail and appeared from the audience with chairs in their hands. Their intentions were crystal clear, the question was how they'd get away with such blatant interference. In a brilliant (and somewhat comical) display of tactical genius, they surrounded the ring from opposite sides, with one distracting the official while the other delivered a chair shot to Harry Allen or Steve Gumble respectively, a play on the classic "if the ref doesn't see it, they can't call it" trope. Still, this was enough to halt the Guns' momentum and after pressing their advantage, Doug Peak hit Gumble with the House of Horrors and finally scored the pin, returning the titles to him and his brother Eddie. Winners AND NEW PDW Tag Team champions: The Peak Brothers, by pinfall PDW Men's title match <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wnTAt7yiCnU" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> After the match, Skeeter Colquhoun made an appearance to cut a promo about how he's been overlooked but now he's taking matters into his own hands and challenging for the title next. 4. <div style="padding: 15px; border: 3px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #6e1812; max-width:55%;box-shadow: 0 6px 12px ";"> The episode began with Fro Sure in Grimm's office, American title resting on his lap like a baby. The champion brought up the appearances of Frantic Ali and the Mexican Hardcore Killers, wanting to know if it was Grimm who signed them or if this is the start of an IPW invasion. The owner of GSW was dodgy in his response, saying of course they all want to come over since GSW is way hotter than IPW, but what he did say is he needs his champion to be on the frontlines and he expects Fro to hold the fort against all these new guys. (Rating: 67) Following Onslaught's reception last week, it should come as no surprise he got paired with Devyn Retribution against State of Destruction. What also shouldn't come as a surprise was the fact that this was an absolute squash of a match for about 8 devastating minutes before BB took out the former CZCW star with his Avalanche to end it. (Rating: 33) Motor City Made were arguing in a vignette that followed, a somewhat funny segment since they were communicating in sign language and it was all subtitled for the viewers. DT blamed LaRue for prioritizing BPLM over him and their partnership, but LaRue retorted saying this isn't the case and he's obsessing with this deal, almost as if he's jealous or something. (Rating: 53) In another short video, Hustle Muvva was shown getting in his car when he noticed a slip of paper on the windshield. Initially thought to be perhaps a parking ticket, Muvva's expression changed to a much more worried one when he actually picked it up. For a split second, the camera caught that it was a hand written note, but what it said, only Muvva could tell. (Rating: 57) E-Z and Villano made their in-ring return against Finest and Galindo, looking like they never missed a beat since they'd jumped ship from GSW to IPW. Every bit the hardcore match one would expect from these four, the blood and weapons-full action was elevated by Galindo and E-Z's death defying aerial stunts. It all came to a sudden halt though, as E-Z managed to surprise the big ex-con and hold him down for three with an inside cradle. (Rating: 38) Another pair having their (perpetual on and off) issues is the Long Beach Crew and losing their main event match to Brown Pride last week didn't help the situation. Aces and Slick argued back and forth about who was to blame, until they noticed the camera prying on their internal affairs and united to chase away the person shooting the scene. (Rating: 54) Ali was set to get tested by one of GSW's best straight technical wrestlers in the main event, but even so he managed to turn the match into a wild fistfight. Blake was not only able to keep up, he displayed surprising chemistry with his opponent's style, leading the fans to start a "fight forever" chant. Still, Ali is a much better brawler than Blake and eventually hit his opponent with the Death Valley Driver on the apron for a big spot, before rolling him in to make the pin. (Rating: 53) After the match, Ali got on the mic to cut a scathing promo on E-Soteric, calling him "a crying b*tch" and berating him about coming up with excuses for his loss. Ali asked if "this is the high energy brawler of GSW" and added he's called Frantic for a reason; soon enough, the two men's paths would cross again and when that happens, E will have no excuses so he'd better start preparing. Peter Belcher here and I'm joined as always by my broadcast partner, Philip Bescott.</p><p> <strong>Bescott:</strong> Good to be here Peter, we're right after Summer Rites and I'm excited to see what happens next tonight.</p><p> <strong>Belcher:</strong> Indeed, just days ago we saw the return of Dovydas Vidmar and a surprise appearance from NGW alumna Viper McKenna, as well as a new Women's champion when Florida Simard defeated The Colorado Crusher, Paula Edwards.</p><p> <strong>Bescott:</strong> Don't forget the New Breed running wild and making sure Ryushi Ryusaki retained the RotO Championship!</p><p> <strong>Belcher:</strong> New Breed are calling the shots and we'll surely hear from them but right now let's take it to the ring for our opening match as Ray Snow goes up against The Witch Doctor!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="YrMwg7C.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YrMwg7C.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="0VhPXbO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0VhPXbO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <strong>"Ice Cold" Ray Snow vs The Witch Doctor</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> The two men tried to get the crowd going as the show began, but they did so in different ways and it didn't quite work. The Witch Doctor relied on cheating and his zany character but he had little to work with given Snow's ice cold demeanor and apparent lack of charisma. Likewise, Snow tried to showcase some hard hitting wrestling, which would have worked better if he actually had a half decent in-ring wrestler to do that with. Pretty awkward overall and Snow won this with a Spinning Back Fist.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: "Ice Cold" Ray Snow</strong></p><p><strong> 30</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Belcher:</strong> It's not always pretty, but a win is a win and the Minnesotta native Ray Snow is going to need those in RotO.</p><p> <strong>Bescott:</strong> I'm hearing the New Breed are going to make an announcement next, I'm curious to hear from them.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="zrbNVcB.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zrbNVcB.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="QU7pAaz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QU7pAaz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="bj8Z4GI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bj8Z4GI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="tpx175Y.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tpx175Y.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong>Montero:</strong> Shut up and sit down, show some respect to the RotO Champion!</p><p> <strong>Bruno:</strong> And those who would be Tag Team champions, if this place was being run properly. First of all, I am the champion. I was in this match, not him. And I won that match to retain my title. Second, I'm tired of crybabies saying what he did wasn't right. You know what wasn't right? Booking me to defend the title while carrying a serious injury. But I'm a fighting champion. I went out there and defended my title. Petrov here only made sure it was a fair fight when he levelled the playing field...</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="AhotWa7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AhotWa7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Belcher:</strong> It's Petter Eriksson!</p><p> <strong>Bescott:</strong> Oh I want to hear him out, remember he also needed some outside help in the form of Viper McKenna to win his match at Summer Rites...</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Eriksson:</strong> I'm gonna keep this short and simple so you and your goons get it through your thick skulls. At Summer Rites, I took care of the Blood Axe once and for all. Now my hands are no longer tied. I don't need to worry about him anymore. Now it's time to take care of business and take out the trash. I'm not familiar with ACL tears but believe it's a significant -and lingering- injury, to the point where I'm debating using the editor to give the Troublesome Knee attribute to Torii after this. And it's not even in one of the big monthly shows! Grimm's response was that he wants to make weekly TV something people will want to watch and not just skip in favor of the big events, plus it comes with the territory; if you hold more than one title, expect to be in title matches more often defending them. (Rating: 52) LaRue's divided attention between her allegiance to Deaf Touch and wanting to replace Miss Jones at the helm of BPLM came to play in this match, with the two rookies looking to take out their frustrations on her for losing their title match last week. Deaf Touch was the unknown factor here, teasing whether he'd stand with Foxxy as a team or turn on her for shooting him down last week when he needed her. For all the storytelling though, there was little elegance in telling the tale and a lot more intensity in using all the passion involved to incite a crazy fistfight, in and out of the ring. What really caught the fans' attention however was a Belly to Belly Suplex from Diamond to DT onto the guardrail, which she clearly miscalculated, leading to "you ****ed up" chants and Touch looking like he was in legitimate pain. Still, he's called "The Unbreakable" for more than just his stamina and it's more than just a gimmick: DT continued the match and even pulled off a Crooked Moonsault while in obvious pain, getting the pin over Baker and a big ovation from the audience. (Rating: 37) In a pre-taped message, E-Soteric cut a promo about how the rug was pulled under his feet last week when he was forced to face a new arrival in Frantic Ali, an opponent he couldn't have possibly prepared for. E said he's wiser now, he knows what Ali's deal is and when they'll meet again, because they will, he'll "show him real frantic". (Rating: 47) Blake's surprise opponent turned out to be Onslaught, a former CZCW wrestler known for his fast, lucha-inspired style full of flips and dives. For all the spectacle, Onslaught caught a lot of static from the unimpressed fans and Blake was cheered for ending things with his Black Plex shortly before the ten minute mark. (Rating: 44) Raheem Stash was shown next, conversing with someone in the shadows that wasn't visible on camera. From the voice though, it was clear this was a woman. The mysterious figure claimed to know Hustle Muvva all too well and offered to help Stash defeat him, but the big Jamaican turned down the offer saying he's had his share of betrayals, before walking away. (Rating: 44) Main event time and Brown Pride defending their tag team titles against the LBC. Between the champions still recovering from last week's match and the mistrust among their opponents, this was a pretty compelling and competitive match with neither side holding back when it came to violent, hardcore action. A match straight out of the old dark days of GSW and its classic tag team division, this one revisited several of the classic spots in the two teams' history to excite the audience. And as if that wasn't enough... Mexican Hardcore Killers showed up to shock everyone at the Warehouse, from the fans to the wrestlers and announce team. The surprise appearance distracted the champions just enough for the challengers to mount a comeback and control the match, but poor communication when going for the High and Low caused LatiNoFear to escape the predicament and kick Slick out of the ring, before MexiCain joined him to deliver the Border Toss on Aces. (Rating: 50) After the match, MexiCain grabbed a mic and proceeded to cut a promo on the newcomers, saying they're welcome to join Los Guerilleros despite defecting to IPW in the past; to them, it's all about La Raza. Sanchez Villano turned down the offer, saying this is about business, not heritage: the Killers are here in GSW and they're gunning for those Tag Team titles! [48] 5. Seven Samurai (Funakoshi, 3K, Nobuharu Yokokawa and Roku Sotomura) defeated Dread Army (FEAR, The Horror, Atto Savage and Ragnarok) in 14:21 when Kadonomaro Kamisaka submitted Ragnarok with a Triangle Choke. [52] 6. Big Bruiser Findlay and Giant Brody defeated Torii & Taku, Okamoto & Narahashi and Ikoma & Sen in 18:10; the order of elimination was Blast Ikoma and Sojuro Sen first, then Bunrakuken Torii and Yoshinaka Taku, and finally Razan Okamoto and Dynamite Narahashi. [56] ~ BCG hit the Chugoku leg of this tour with an unusual four way tag team main event to hype up the upcoming Sole Survivor main event, but ironically enough, disaster struck when Bunrakuken Torii landed badly after delivering his signature Flying Forearm. The leader of Dawnguard finished the match while heavily favoring his knee and after the show, it was announced that he completely tore his ACL during that spot. BCG will be covering the expenses for Torii's knee surgery, but doctors say the incident will sideline him for roughly half a year. As such, he will not be participating in the Sole Survivor match as advertised and Yoshinaka Taku has been penciled in as his replacement. ~ Following Sotomura's defeat at the hands of Dread Army, Seven Samurai bounced back with a vengeance and managed to score a victory over the big man group as Kadonomaro Kamisaka nearly choked out Ragnarok before the latter admitted defeat and tapped out. ~ Second successful defence of his Challengers Series Medallion for Lion Genji over Sharaku Okimasa and it seems as though Genji is a favourite to collect all three, if not take the belt itself from FEAR. The Challengers Series matches are shaping up to be rather interesting in the final show of the Sole Survivor tour. </div>

  21. Fujio's great and since I had Kita already... Hope the injury doesn't cripple his performance long term. In MAW and refusing to take bookings in Japan. Edit: I just noticed, this was actually Narahashi's second BCG match. His debut was during the first night of this tour.
  22. Piledriver Wrestling presents No Love Lost 1998 Wednesday, Week 1, February 1998 Live from Atlanta, GA Announcers: Dennis Sims and Micky Starr Miss Mexico vs Susan Forabruisin Lauded in her home country but not really having the opportunities there, the fiery Miss Mexico often ends up crossing the border up North to get booked and this was one such occasion, where she wrestled the opening match against Susan Forabruisin. The red headed luchadora got the crowd hyped with her high flying against her brawl-focused opponent and even ended up winning the match using her Red Head Press for a decent reaction. Winner: Miss Mexico, by pinfall The Peak Brothers came out next to cut a promo inside the ring. Eddie: "Young Guns! You said you'd give us a rematch for the tag titles anytime, but then we had to fight another team for that opportunity. It's alright though, me and Doug here are happy to bash in a few skulls, yours or otherwise, doesn't matter. But the thing is, we won that match. So next month, you better put them belts on the line and give us our rematch!" Black Eagle vs Blue Sky The perpetual clash of Piledriver Wrestling's two luchadors resumed in this match, with Black Eagle showing the physical and mental scars of his match against Dark EAGLE a month prior. For fans keeping track, the two men went to a double countout on January of '97 and it would take until August of that year for the rematch; Eagle won that one, but Sky got his own win a few months later in October. This made for an even playing field in this one, although Blue Sky clearly had an advantage over his damaged opponent. Black Eagle's selling had some of the fans sympathise with him, to the point where one could reasonably expect a turn, maybe even a double one, but it did not happen and Blue Sky hit his impressive Phoenix Firebird Splash to get the win and one-up his rival. Winner: Blue Sky, by pinfall Eagle wasn't happy about his defeat of course, but he didn't take it graciously either and decided to attack Blue Sky from behind after the match as he was celebrating his victory. After the initial beatdown, Eagle began setting up for the New Jersey Turnpike... ...when out came a face-painted man with a steel chair in hand! Rushing down to the ring, the mysterious man never got to swing his weapon as Eagle abandoned the scene, but it all ended with the loser returning backstage as the newcomer helped Blue Sky back to his feet. [67] 6. Bunrakuken Torii and Yoshinaka Taku defeated Mabuchi Furusawa and SUKI in 23:44 when Yoshinaka Taku pinned SUKI with a Full Nelson Bomb. [80] ~ A rare tag team main event to wrap up BCG's Kansai leg of the tour, with the top two men of Pillars and Dawnguard and it delivered an exciting bout, as expected. Yoshi Taku stepped up his game bigtime and even managed to score the pin over SUKI, giving his faction their first big win after two consecutive losses to Furusawa's group. ~ Elsewhere in the card, Tanyu Toshusai defeated Naozane Goto to claim the third of the Challengers Series Medallions, giving him hope to perhaps reclaim the belt he won at the start of the year, ironically enough from Goto. Toshusai will now have to defend his Medallion throughout the rest of the tour, before he is allowed to face the other two holders for a shot at gold. ~ Fujio Narahashi reunited with Azumamaro Kita to reunite as the Black Iron Corps, but the joy wasn't meant to last as the former SAISHO star ended the night with a severe shoulder injury that is expected to keep him on the sidelines for several months. Despite not being a major presence in BCG yet, the incident certainly halted Narahashi's initial momentum and it will be interesting to see in what capacity he will be used upon his return. </div>
