Also, these insight pieces are a great read, might be stealing this idea for my NGW R2G diary so I can educate readers on the past and keep the diary alive without having to actually plan and book shows. Thanks, this was inspiring!</p>
  2. <p>That Suzuki-Naito gif is what WWE wish the Lesnar-Undertaker "laugh" exchange was... Also, not to turn this into a gif-fest, but Nagata's little dance and facial expression while on the receiving end of those Machine Gun Chops at the final night of World Tag Leage had me chuckling</p><p> <img alt="740full-yuji-nagata.jpg" data-src="https://ilarge.lisimg.com/image/8324295/740full-yuji-nagata.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  3. Guys, guys... He's known for his chops and forearms, to the point where they call him "Machine Gun" Torii. His real world equivalent clearly is Satoshi Kojima Kawashima & Koiso vs Total Eclipse (King & Glenn) Toshiharu Hyobanshi vs Yoshinaka Taku BAKUHATSU (Magnum Kobe, Emerand Angel & Eien Miyamoto) vs The Syndicate (Hiroaki Nakasawa, Heihachiro Sakai & Hirokumi Saito) Black Cobra vs Mabuchi Furusawa RAGE (Tsurayuki Kamachi, Nariaki Hitomi & Sam Keith) vs Kensai (Funakoshi, Mito Miwa & Eisaku Hoshino) Jay Chord vs Velocidad Fox Mask & Omezo Shikitei vs High Octane

The hype for the arrival of Los Monteros was when I was caught up with this diary and read the shows as they were posted. From the "Loser leaves NOTBPW" match to the appearance of El Fuego (might be King Bison's distinctive rendering style, but I could tell who was under the mask since day one) and the final showdown, this was exceptional.</p>
  6. October was never announced, I just gave it some time in case we had any announcements about people double-voting, or voting past the deadline and whatnot. If the next month's nominations are up, I think it's safe to say the previous one's are finalized. Go claim your September prize
  7. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="dalton0911" data-cite="dalton0911" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41210" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>So yeah, better to start a diary with a fresh and new game, or is it just fine to roll with an already-started game?</div></blockquote><p> As long as you're enjoying the save and have a story you want to tell, either is fine. I've made a diary of my Road to Glory save 16 years into the save, but I've also started saves specifically for a diary. Same with how people play/write stuff, some run a segment, write it on the spot and continue, others run a bunch of shows ahead of time, take notes and write each out at their leisure. There's no rule to it, try it out and see what works best for you.</p>
  8. Have you seen my NGW roster? I never broke a R2G rule and I got the likes of Marat Khoklov, Marihito Masuko, Edward Cornell and a ton of other major names as a European promotion. Well, maybe it was easier because I used the 97 CVerse mod and grabbed them almost as soon as they debuted, guess it's not the same in the 2010 mod. My equivalent would be grabbing Tommy Cornell and Angry Gilmore during my first years but failing to grow fast enough to keep them. Appreciate the shout-out, now that you've edited those posts (and I read a lot of stuff, such as Black Cobra's bio!) I just had to come back and drop an extra response.
  9. Yay, I finally made it to Legendary! With the Lloyd ending his NOTBPW diary and Historian distracted with our joint diaries, it somehow seems possible I could survive in that category Real World 1. Stephanie - The Princess Diaries, by alpha 2117 As a general rule, I don't bother with RW diaries, so nominating one is a rare move for me. Alpha won me over with the W_SX diary and while it's on hiatus, this is the best alternative. 2. AWA 1989: A Financial Savior Is (Badly) Needed, by piperrulz It reads a lot like a book or documentary and its subject is very interesting. The matches, promos and storylines aren't really it's strong point, but the historic and backstage segments are solid gold. CVerse 1. The Oddworld, by Bigelow Cartwheel Almost made this an honorary mention as it put out just one narrative and one show during November, but it's just too good to not nominate 2. NYCW The Ultimate Throwback, by Charasmatic Enigma Not a big fan of NYCW and haven't been keeping up with this as much as I'd like, but still a really solid diary that deserves the nomination. 3. White Canvas Grappling [C-Verse], by CGN91 This one was off to a hot start, but has since been flying a bit below the radar, perhaps because it's written out a lot like an MMA diary. Legendary 1. FCW A Playboy in Puerto Rico, by Historian Never been a fan of FCW, but Historian's booking, writing and storytelling just might sell this promotion to me. It's rough to follow The Climb, but kudos to the man for not resting on his laurels. 2. NOTBPW A Game of Stones...and DeColts, by The Lloyd A consistently awesome diary that managed to get me interested in the Canadian scene and set a standard all diaries should aspire to reach. Sad to see this go, so here's one last nomination for it. Rookie 1. The Heart of a Lion (BCG 2010 R2G), by Chisoku Had a great start trying to run SAISHO as a touring company before life caught up. Now back with my favourite Japanese CVerse company and an interesting setup. Showcase 1. Leopard King's farewell party, in the Oddworld by Bigelow Cartwheel What can I say, Silas Young has been a delightful scumbag promoter but coupled with the man that is Leopard King, we got some great stuff out of it. 2. Jason Jordan in W_SX Welcome to the Pleasuredome, by alpha2117 Smarky promos, 4th wall breaks, meta comments and a subverted-yet-happening Kurt Angle involvement. Too bad this diary had to take a break, but until it returns, we have his WWE one.
  10. Piledriver Wrestling has been on holiday hiatus since the big Lee Wright Classic show and since I'm playing along as I write the shows, I still don't know who's gonna take over after Lee Wright leaves the business, Still, the November DotM nominations are up, so I guess it's official: Piledriver Wrestling co-won CVerse diary of the month for October in a 4 way tie and it's mind blowing one of the other three diaries was my R2G one as NGW. Thank you all for your comments, predictions, nominations and votes!
  11. If Togg put up the November DotM nominations, I guess it's official this diary co-won CVerse diary of the month for October alongside three other diaries. Thank you all for reading, commenting, nominating and voting.
  12. Well, Togg put up the November DotM nominations, so I guess it's official: this one co-won match of the month for October thanks to that Barb Wire Cage match. Which is weird, because this is willr0ck's mod I'm using and the other match that won was his PSW Three Stages of Hell match. Which I won the prediction to pick the stipulation for. This is as shared as a prize can get, huh? Thank you all for nominating and voting, if you liked the rest make sure to nominate and vote again. I'll be back with that mysterious 10 woman battle royal soon!

  14. I'll echo Historian above, I've been a silent fan of this diary for a long while and was curious the other day if you ran any other ones, which is how I ran into your WWE one and read about this one's imminent stop. Never been much of the Canadian CVerse scene myself, but you sure made this captivating and it's worth every monthly award it won!

Bubba Lee West marches to the interview podium as Peter Michaels heads over there and holds a microphone up.</p><p> </p><p> West: “I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, Desert Storm and the Silencer are two tough soldiers. Great wrestlers. You saw what they did last week, when they beat that 400lb monster of a man, Land Mass. Cobra too, take nothing away from that up and comer. And it was the same in that ring as it was in the Army, they owe their success to me. I saw they needed my guidance, so I came out to lead them from the sidelines. But did they ever thank me for that? Not even close!”</p><p> </p><p> West grabs the mic out of a stunned Peter Michaels’ hands and continues to talk, addressing the studio crowd and camera.</p><p> </p><p> West: “Boo me all you want, the fact of the matter is I’ve led them to success again and again, but never got as much as a simple thank you in return, when they should be kissin’ my damn feet instead! Now I understand they want to get in the ring with me, but two on one is not the kind of unfair match SCCW wants to promote. Wrestling is serious business and this company treats it as such. So I did what I do best, I went out and got myself two new recruits I’m gonna whip into fighting shape. Silencer… Desert Storm… You better find yourselves a third man. I’ll see you at Tennessee Tussle!”</p><p> <img alt="gUMXSOo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gUMXSOo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p></p></div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><div></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <img alt="2MnrCLE.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2MnrCLE.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Sneer: “We got ourselves a three on three match for Tennessee Tussle! I wonder who the Sergeant’s two new recruits are and I sure am curious to see who the National Guard are gonna team up with!”</p><p> </p><p> Michaels: “It’s going to be an all out war, but war is the one thing these men are no strangers to. That’s happening at Tennessee Tussle, but right here, up next, we have our opening match between Rick Sanders and Riley McManus!”</p><p> </p><p> Sneer: “Both these men were knocked out of the race for the title in the first stage of the tournament, so now they’re gunning for a win that could turn things around for them. Sanders once again led the match and kept things at a pace his veteran body could handle, while telling another tale of him going toe to toe with a young prospect. Given the technical style of his opponent, this was much easier to do than when he faced the powerhouse Jolson in the tournament and the two men had a solid, grapple-heavy contest, with the athletic youngster from Georgia winning the fans over but not the match as well. McManus worked the fans a second too long when he had Sanders in a set up position for his Slingshot Suplex finisher, an opening the veteran was able to exploit in order to escape, take the young grasshopper to the mat and apply a Figure Four Leglock to squeeze a submission out of him.</p><p> </p><p> In a decent match, Rick Sanders defeated Riley McManus in 10:17 by submission with a Figure Four Leglock.</p><p> <img alt="gUMXSOo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gUMXSOo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="2MnrCLE.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2MnrCLE.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47132" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><img alt="Szghv3F.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Szghv3F.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="LkAVZkW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LkAVZkW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> The Flex Express come out for an interview, taking the time to strike all sorts of poses on their way as they display their ripped physiques.</p><p> </p><p> Riggins: "Take a look at this man... Jolson has been positioned as a big up-and-coming babyface with his painted face and his chiselled physique and this was an opportunity for him to step into the ring with the guy being positioned as the main heel in SCCW. “Hacksaw” Findlay O’Farraday was head-and-shoulders the best thing of the night. The big man just gets it and was really in a zone getting to work with another hoss tonight. The crowd was definitely excited for everything these men did. It was a slugfest, with each guy getting to showcase their power. Findlay sold several big slams from Jolson -- and Findlay doesn’t really go up for many guys, so the fact that he did here really made Jolson look like a force to be reckoned with. Findlay did unload with a barrage of heavy forearms that set up the huge Atomic Spinebuster that he has used for years. He got the win and a spot in the finals of the tournament.</p><p> </p><p> In a decent match, Findlay O'Farraday defeated Justice Jolson in 11:18 by pinfall with an Atomic Spinebuster.</p><p> <img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="2MnrCLE.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2MnrCLE.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Michaels, “A big win for Findlay O’Farraday tonight, but Justice Jolson was very impressive.”</p><p> </p><p> Sneer, “Impressive in a loss that is still a loss, Peter. And we have our first official member of the finals! At Tennessee Tussle we know that “Hacksaw” Findlay O’Farraday will be competing for the Southern Heavyweight Championship! And it’s going to be hard to bet against the big man.”</p><p> </p><p> Michaels, “I know I wouldn’t want to have my money on someone else, but then again I’m not a betting man for that reason. He is alone. </p><p> </p><p> Turner, “When the SCCW returned, I told y’all very clearly that the Tennessee Outlaws were going to pick up where they left off. They were going to pick up as the Southern Tag Team Champions and that’s what they did. Because I am an honest man and when I tell you it’s going to rain on Sunday you know it’s going to rain and if I tell you to bet on a horse you bet on that horse and if I tell you that the Tennessee Outlaws are going to win you know that they are going to win. But the Maryland Alliance couldn’t accept that. They want another go. They want the Outlaws one more time and I was inclined to deny their request because quite frankly, the Outlaws don’t have anything left to prove -- but then I thought better of it. Brady… Buck… You want the Tennessee Outlaws? You want one more shot at the Southern Tag Team Championship? Well I say we finish this thing once and for all. I say we end this rivalry for good. So here’s the deal. If you want a shot at the Southern Tag Team Titles- - you can have one. On one condition. Whoever gets pinned, whether that is one of my guys or one of you two -- whoever it is -- they have to leave SCCW for good! No excuses. No exceptions. If y’all want the opportunity, Whistler has the contracts. You can sign on the dotted line and we’ll see you at Tennessee Tussle.”</p><p> <img alt="EjdrcWN.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EjdrcWN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="2MnrCLE.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2MnrCLE.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Michaels, “What a major stipulation announced by Ernie Turner. I don’t know if the Maryland Alliance is going to accept, but if they do -- it will mean the end of one of the most legendary teams in SCCW history!”</p><p> </p><p> Sneer, “If they want to end this rivalry, they’re going to have to accept and the stakes should be high! Sixteen years these teams have gone back and forth. They’ve bled. They’ve beaten the holy hell out of one another. They don’t care that he’s not the athlete he was all those years ago when he was putting on incredibly performances for the crowds each and every time. Nostalgia can give you blinders, but despite Griffin’s body not being what it was his mind is still as good as ever. Douglas was a good opponent for him. They were able to work slow and tell a story. Douglas targeted the back of Griffith and really worked it over -- trying to prevent Jack from being able to hit the Jack in the Box. A missed clothesline allowed Jack to really fire up and make that big Southern-style comeback he’s known for and then hit the Jack in the Box and get the pin.</p><p> </p><p> In a decent match, Jack Griffith defeated Ricky Douglas in 10:24 by pinfall with a Jack in The Box.</p><p> <img alt="gUMXSOo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gUMXSOo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Michaels, “And there we have it! Jack Griffith is heading to Tennessee Tussle to go one on one with “Hacksaw” Findlay O’Farraday for the Southern Heavyweight Champion. Can Southern Justice prove that the wide-eyed Southern boy still exists deep in his soul, can he reach inside of himself and find the wrestler that set the world on fire and reclaim the championship he has held two times previously? Or will Findlay O’Farrday -- who for years has been one of the most dominant professional wrestlers anywhere in the world -- become the Southern Heavyweight Champion and add his name to that prestigious list of greats? We will find out at Tennessee Tussle. For Shane Sneer and everyone here at Southern Class Championship Wrestling, I’m Peter Michaels saying thank you, good night!”</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="2MnrCLE.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2MnrCLE.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Show Rating</strong></p><p> <img alt="EjdrcWN.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EjdrcWN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p>
  16. Did a new owner take over your promotion? Because when that happens, they do dump a lump sum upon taking command.
  17. If it's expenses, it might be due to a fine if Music in your Production Values is at minimum, or a financial scandal. If it's a 1 million bonus to your income, I have no idea why that might happen.
  18. Welcome back! Enjoyed your previous SAISHO diary and what a roster on this one! Will try to keep up, I hope you have fun booking and writing.

  20. EMLL Los Guerreros del Mundo 2017 EMLL Los Guerreros del Mundo 2017 Sat W2 March '17, Attendance: 3.016 Parque La Junta, Northern Mexico Shown live on Canal Tres, Ratings: 0.05 (38,180 viewers) The show kicks of with a super hot segment as the patriotic duo of Ángel De México and El Héroe Mexicano come out to address the crowd. Ángel puts Héroe over, saying he's happy to have both a valuable ally and someone to hold the fort when he's off wrestling in Japan to spread lucha libre outside the borders of Mexico. They then proceed to talk about the cancer that is Guerrero Muerto and Death's Head, with Héroe saying he's confident he can beat Muerto in the night's main event. Soda De La Uva Jr (1-1) vs Trickster (0-2) Despite not wrestling a strictly comedy match, Soda De La Uva Jr still peppers his offence (and some of his selling) with plenty of comedy spots to entertain the crowd. Trickster however is in no mood for silly games, especially with his EMLL career on the line after suffering two straight losses and he comes into the match with a head full of steam. His recklessness costs him the first fall, much to the delight of the fans, but the pressure seems to wake him up too and he re-focuses to turn the tide and win rounds two and three. Winner: Trickster Crazy Miguel (0-2) vs Flamenco Fabuloso (1-1) Speaking of comedy matches, that duty falls on the shoulders of Crazy Miguel and Flamenco Fabuloso for the night, who provide an entertaining match jam packed with all sorts of silliness. Miguel does seem to have a little more inner fire though, which he should since a loss here would cost him his future with EMLL, resulting in a spectacular Running Neckbreaker for the finish and win. Winner: Crazy Miguel Death's Head (0-2) vs Fray Valiente Jr (1-1) More careers on the line, as Death's Head steps into the ring with Fray Valiente Jr. Despite not having wrestled for quite some time, Valiente shows no signs of ring rust and gives the overconfident powerhouse a real run for his money, his flashy high flying style keeping Death's Head guessing. Valiente takes round one, which only infuriates his opponent further, allowing the charismatic tecnico to find more openings and also win round two, which means Death's Head is gone from EMLL! Winner: Fray Valiente Jr Delirium (1-1) vs El Mítico Jr (1-1) Mítico is quick to take control of the match and keep Delirium grounded, which is also a great way to hide the masked madman's problematic stamina as he works him over with holds. The few opportunities Delirium gets to hit any offensive moves, he blows more spots than he manages to hit and Mítico easily wins both rounds in the end. Winner: El Mítico Jr After the match, Mítico addresses the fans and camera, repeating his request of a match against Blue Phantom so he can reclaim the Campeónato de Histórico EMLL. Title match for the Campeónato de Mexico EMLL w w Boriken Love Machine Jr (2-0) © (with Delirante) vs Zebra Man (1-1) (with Lucia Valencia) A high octane match full of spectacular moves, this one is further enhanced by the reactions of Lucia Valencia at ringside and Delirante's oblivious dancing about. The match is prety even and Zebra Man wins round one with just a little bit of health left in his bar, the second round equally exciting as Boriken Love Machine Jr wins in similar fashion. This leads to a dramatic tie breaker round and every man pulling all the stops for a win, but it's the champion who's able to hit his Love Gun finisher and retain in the end. Winner: Boriken Love Machine Jr Boriken Love Machine Jr makes defence number 2 of his Campeónato del Mexico EMLL title DeCipher (1-1) vs Snake King (0-2) Both men coming off losses in their respective matches at EMLL Fatalidad 2017, they approach this match carefully as they don't want to be the first to make a mistake and suffer another loss, especially Snake King who's at 0-2. There's little high flying and more grappling here, a chance to let fans catch their breath after the previous match and get ready for the main event. DeCipher manages to win the first round, but somewhere halfway into the second, his performance starts dropping as the lingering effects of Demon King's attack last month come back to haunt him. Sensing his opportunity, Snake King doubles up and takes the second round, working over any weak spot he can locate throughout round three to get the win and secure his continued career with EMLL. Winner: Snake King El Héroe Mexicano (0-0) vs Guerrero Muerto (1-1) Héroe Mexicano's debut match with EMLL is anything but easy as he finds himself headlining a show against the suplexing skeleton that is Guerrero Muerto. Now showing a lot more intensity into his style, Muerto catches Héroe by surprise to dominate the first round, but that only sets up Héroe's big babyface comeback for a "come from behind" win as he draws the crowd in to sympathize with his uphill battle, leading all the way to his win in a dramatic third round. Winner: El Héroe Mexicano Show Rating:

Yuko Okui: What an exciting night it is shaping up to be, we have a double main event with Romi Yamato defending her WINNOW Rising Champion title against Thea Davis and before that, Hunter-Killers put their WWA Tag World Tag Team titles on the line against Houston Handley and Teresa Perez, the team known as Tex-Mex! Hiranuma Makoto: I'm very excited to see that match, not just because of the women in it but also because I'm curious to see how Hunter-Killers may have been affected by the loss of their WINNOW Duet titles to Torment & Sorrow last month. Yuko Okui: Indeed, are they extra motivated to retain these last titles or can Tex-Mex seize the moment to finish them off? But that's not all, because in the main event, there's more than the title on the line; WINNOW Grand Champion Joanne Rodriguez has promised that if Romi Yamato agreed to this match, she would be getting a shot at her championship next month. Here we are with this match headlining tonight's show and if things go well for Yamato, she might be gunning for a double championship! Ginko Kuroda, Eri Sato & BATTLE BEASTS vs Team Endorphine, Nami Genda & Asami Okubo The opening contest saw the hard hitting quartet of Kuroda, Sato and BATTLE BEASTS square off against their younger, faster and more high flying opponents. Veterans Kuroda and Endo led their respective teams throughout the match in an exciting contest that had fans properly warmed up by the finish, where BATTLE Takenouchi took down Asami Okubo for the pin. Winners: Ginko Kuroda, Eri Sato & BATTLE BEASTS Finish: Sit-Out Powerbomb Chitose Ariwara, Ochiyo Iijima & Rika Tsujimura vs Joanne Rodriguez, Mystery Pink & Faith McGee Another undercard multi-woman tag match, this one fatured current and former champions in Ariwara, Iijima and Rodriguez, which meant that not only it was bound to be solid, it also featured the opportunity to set up some title matches in future. That was the case indeed as after a good back and forth contest for about ten minutes, Mystery Pink got the big pin over reigning WINNOW Pure Heart champion, Ochiyo Iijima. Winners: Joanne Rodriguez, Mystery Pink & Faith McGee Finish: Flying Body Press Rei Chikanatsu and Torment & Sorrow vs Deborah Young, Laura Flame & Claire Winters Newly crowned WINNOW Duet champions Yu Hashimoto and Maki Yoshifumi joined former WINNOW Pure Heart champion Rei Chikanatsu for the final undercard match against the hard hitting gaijin trio of Young, Flame and Winters. Flame's realistic style and training by John "Hell Monkey" Reaver of WLW fame once again got a great reaction from the fans;between that and Young's undeniable power, their opponents had to fight hard but they perservered and managed to get the pin over young lioness Claire Winters to pull off a win. Winners: Rei Chikanatsu and Torment & Sorrow Finish: Duxk-Under Head Kick WWA World Tag Team titles match Hunter-Killers © vs Tex-Mex Having lost the WINNOW Duet titles to Torment & Sorrow a month earlier, Dragon Assassin and Huntress Makiko came into this match hellbent on bouncing back, delivering a hail of stiff strikes onto their opponents. Handley took a serious beating, selling it like she was getting murdered and getting some good sympathy from the fans who appreciated her fighting spirit as she kicked out again and again, before a desperate snap enzuguiri created the necessary space so she could tag in Perez. The fiery Mexican high flyer really picked up the pace of the match and although she couldn't quite hold the opposition down for the count, a double tag to Assassin and Handley saw them both rush towards each other, only for Handley to duck under a roundhouse kick and subsequently roll her opponent into a schoogirl pin. Winners AND NEW WWA World Tag Team champions: Tex-Mex Finish: Roll up WINNOW Rising Champion title match Romi Yamato © vs Thea Davis The big main event, Davis' first ever title shot in WINNOW and a marquee match, a huge opportunity to make her mark and get noticed. Yamato brought the big fight and the two women set off to outperform not just each other but the match that preceded them as well. Fans were treated to WINNOW's trademark fast paced, spectacular style of a junior style match as Yamato and Davis went back and forth, with the champion eventually hitting her finisher to retain. Fans cheered for both competitors and the show ended with Yamato helping up her challenger, Davis having lost the match but proven herself as a future main eventer in the company. Winner: Romi Yamato [Defences: 2] Finish: Yamatotal [Cross-arm German Suplex with a bridge] Show Rating: </div>
  23. Calvin: Alright, alright, alright, it's time to dive into my guilty pleasure of a wrestling promotion, the company Jerry loves to hate, Chi-Town Urban Combat! Jerry: Which still has to put up a show anywhere near the greater Chicago area. Or the entire state of Illinois, really. Calvin: First of all, we have word of our winner, alpha 2117, asking "Honestly … will we ever see Avarice or Mr Mosca in CTUC?" Jerry: Who the hell is Mr. Mosca?! Calvin: Hold on, let me pull up a picture... Jerry: Holy... Calvin: I know, right? So Mosca has that fly gimmick going on for him, thing is, he's mostly known in Mexico and the SoCal scene so I'm not sure if CTUC would be willing to invest in bringing him in and building him up. Jerry: Not sure they can afford it either, they got a pretty big roster already and took another major hit when they started the Women's Division... although I've head they fired The Shocker! so maybe Mosca could take his spot? Gosh, I can't believe I just said that... Calvin: You do have a point though, Jerry. CTUC already has a bunch of crazy characters so Mr. Mosca would fit right in. I was about to say they already have that monster spot covered by you-know-who... Jerry: EL CHUPACABRA! Calvin: Exactly, but then I figured hey, they tried to team him up with Vanity and it bombed, so maybe bring in Mr. Mosca to try and set up a monster team? Jerry: I don't think that's what "monster heel" is supposed to be... Calvin: Bottom line is, I don't think they can sign Mr. Mosca... not sure if they should... but if they want to, I could totally see it happening. As for Avarice though... Jerry: They already signed Avarice, right? Calvin: Yes, if the Sins' social media is anything to go by, she was one of the signings when CTUC launched their Women's Division, she just hasn't had a televised appearance yet. Jerry: Which is weird, because we still only got Six Deadly Sins on screen so far. Calvin: If CTUC was a person, weird would be their middle name, Jerry... Here's something for you to lose your mind over, did you know Avarice is dating Lust? Jerry: I think "dating" is exaggerating the situation a bit... Calvin: Far from us to criticize anyone's private life, but yeah, that is a thing. Anyway, Avarice may be making her TV debut at long last during CTUC's upcoming show, Absolute Power. Jerry: Am I legally obliged to quote Emperor Palpatine now? Calvin: Won't stop you if you do! So, as I was saying, CTUC has finally announced a Women's title, which they call the "Baddest Bitch" belt... Jerry: Yeah, sounds like CTUC alright. Calvin: Also, they finally got their heads straight and they're gonna have the women's match headline the show... Jerry: Now that's a first! Calvin: And not only that, it's going to be a 10 Woman Battle Royal. Thing is, the numbers don't match. Jerry: What do you mean? Calvin: There's three in the Devil's Playthings. Abominatrix and Annabelle the Canni-belle take us to five. Assuming Avarice is in that match, that's her, Pride, Envy and Lust of the Sins. Five and four is nine. So who is the tenth person? Jerry: EL CHUPACABRA! Calvin: Are you suggesting he's female? Jerry: Can you prove that's not the case? Calvin: CTUC being CTUC, I wouldn't be surprised. Jerry: Would give their fans the weirdest of boners. Calvin: Joking aside though, I think that would be fun, if this was a comedy match, but it isn't. It's a title match headlining a show, they can't be that suicidal. Jerry: That's what people thought too, then Santina Marella won the Women's Battle Royal to become Miss Wrestlemania. And that wasn't some small silly promotion like CTUC either. Calvin: Oh God, you're right... I mean, you do have a point there... I was thinking maybe they'd put one of the Exoticos there, but now that you mention it, I can see, like... Vanity in a blonde wig? Jerry: Or Simba the Tribal Warrior. He's got the skirt already... Calvin: You opened a real can o' worms there, Jerry. I got a ton of potential candidates and each idea is ever worse than the previous one. Jerry: Welcome... to the mind of whoever's booking CTUC! Calvin: I'm gonna crowdsource this one till we return to break down the show so fans, let us know, who do you think might be the tenth person in that Women's, I stress that part, Women's Battle Royal?
  24. SCCW Presents: The Last Rebels Episode Number Two Taped on Wed W2 Jan 2016 at The GBG Studios in Nashville, Tennessee in front of 534 people Ratings: 0.01 (11.740 viewers) Michaels: “Hello and welcome to another episode of The Last Rebels. Last week we made our debut on the Gibson Broadcasting Group family of television networks and tonight we return for another episode full of action, excitement and of course, great wrestling!” Sneer: “Great wrestling indeed, we had some great matches last week and it’s only going to get better tonight because we are kicking off our grand tournament to crown the first Southern Heavyweight champion of this new era!” Michaels: “Speaking of champions, what a main event we witnessed last week as the Maryland Alliance and the Tennessee Outlaws waged war once again for the SCCW Tag Team titles! A rivalry that goes several years back in time, but apparently it’s not the only one around here as last week, the National Guard were surprised by a man who seems to be haunting the past of Desert Storm and The Silencer.” Sneer: “That man was Sgt. Bubba Lee West, a former U.S. Army Ranger and we’ll be hearing from him right now! Watch out there, Peter, West is an unpredictable man from what I’ve heard!” Michaels: “Strong words from Bubba Lee West.” Sneer: “That’s SARGEANT Bubba Lee West to you, Peter. You don’t want to end up on his bad side, like The Silencer and Desert Storm.Clearly he’s out to put them through wrestling boot camp and I don’t want to be someone who stands against him.” Michaels: “Me neither, but the show must go on and up next, our first match of the evening. SCCW alumnus Rex Reeves returns and is looking for a full-time contract. His opponent? One of the most devastating men in all of pro wrestling, “Hacksaw” Findlay O’Farraday.” Opening Match Fifteen Minute Time Limit Rex Reeves versus “Hacksaw” Findlay O’Farraday The monster from Cobb County, Georgia, made his SCCW debut in impressive fashion, continuing his trail of destruction that began in Rip Chord’s MAW and continued with Black Canvas Grappling in Japan. His opponent was Rex Reeves, a man whose small size and high flying style never got him far during his original run with SCCW. It was no different this time around, with Reeves’ high time being when he came out of the curtain as another face fans may remember from the original incarnation of SCCW. From there on it was all Findlay O’Farraday, with Reeves never managing to even land a single offensive move for the five or so minutes his opponent toyed with him before he got bored and hit the Atomic Spinebuster to win. In an extremely short match, Findlay O'Farraday defeated Rex Reeves in 5:13 by pinfall with an Atomic Spinebuster. Michaels: “An impressive show of force by the big man from Cobb County, he sure will be one to watch and I bet he will be among those included in the tournament to determine the next SCCW Southern Heavyweight champion.” Sneer: “You just can’t overlook a beast like Findlay O’Farraday. He is built to destroy and that’s exactly what he did to Rex Reeves. He put the entire roster on notice with that match.” Michaels: “Findlay O’Farraday certainly makes heads turn but so did another man last week. Please welcome my next guest, El Mitico Jr!” Michaels: “I think we can expect big things from the fourth generation luchador here in SCCW. Coming up next, Seth Whitehead and Steel will be going one on one. A victory in this match could put one of them well on the way to getting in the conversation for challengers to the Southern Heavyweight Championship.” Sneer: “Every match matters. Every win matters. You can’t afford to lose, or lose frequently, here in the SCCW. These are competitors. Win matches, you get more money and bigger opportunities. Lose and you might end up without a contract.” Singles Match Fifteen Minute Time Limit “The Man With No Nickname” Seth Whitehead versus Steel Seth Whitehead, a great collegiate wrestler from Minnesota, and an arch-competitor who is just looking for the best competition the wrestling world has to offer had his hands full with the big man known as Steel -- probably for his physique that looks like his entire body is lined with steel. Whitehead looked for takedowns and was tossed off. He tried for some suplexes and was tossed off. It wasn’t a great match -- but it was a match with a clear point. Establish Steel as a powerhouse, a strongman, to be reckoned with. Every move Steel did was a showcase of his strength -- and after each move he hit some sort of pose -- living up to the Flex Express team that he is one half of. Steel hit a big bodyslam and then a neckbreaker to get the victory. In a bout that didn't have much heat and terrible wrestling, Steel defeated Seth Whitehead in 6:07 by pinfall with a Neckbreaker. Michaels: “Make sure to check out http://www.sccw.com for all of your Southern Class Championship Wrestling needs. That jacket sure is a thing of beauty.” Sneer: “And you’ll see Jack Griffith wearing it tonight in our main event. But that’s still to come. We’ve got our first tournament match coming up next and are you ready for this Peter? Justice Jolson, the powerhouse from Pittsburgh who loves America, apple pie and redheads will be going up against a former Southern Tag Team Champion in Rick Sanders.” Michaels: “What can we expect from this match, Shane? Justice Jolson is a new name to a lot of our fans and Rick Sanders has primarily been known as a tag team specialist in his career.” Sneer: “You’re right about both of those. Jolson is a powerhouse and a big one at that. Trained by Dread himself, he’s got the size and skills to really go far. He’s only been wrestling for about a year but he's strong as an ox and has shown himself to be a capable man so far. This is his first real opportunity here in SCCW and he’s looking to make the most of it. Rick Sanders, on the other hand, is a veteran. He’s been wrestling for almost thirty years. He’s wrestled all over America and had success everywhere he’s gone. He has made a name for himself in tag teams -- including being one half of the Dallas Wrecking Crew with partner Idaho Punisher. He’s back now and he’s looking to gain the singles accolades that have eluded him for almost thirty years. A win tonight would mean he is one step closer. I expect him to leave it all out there, Peter. Southern Heavyweight Title Tournament Opening Round Fifteen Minute Time Limit Justice Jolson versus “Old School” Rick Sanders The former “Mr. Pittsburgh” is an incredibly impressive physical specimen. While he is young and green, his physical attributes clearly mean he is going to be a star. Sanders is a wily veteran and was leading this match. It was also clear that at 46 years old, Sanders was not going to go all out on an episode of television but the match was structured to both protect his declining skills and also tell the story of the veteran against the greenhorn. Everything that Jolson did, Sanders was expecting and had an answer for, but Jolson’s power was just too much -- and it was Jolson’s power and his running Powerslam -- The Death Penalty -- that made all the difference to get Jolson the win and the advancement in the tournament. In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Justice Jolson defeated Rick Sanders in 8:11 by pinfall with The Death Penalty. Michaels: “Looks like things aren’t over between The Tennessee Outlaws and The Maryland Alliance. We will keep all of you updated on the developments. It could be that we are looking at a rematch for the titles at Tennessee Tussle by the end of the month.” Sneer: “I can’t wait to see what happens between those four men and I can’t wait for what is next, our main event! Jack Griffith is back inside a SCCW ring against Richie Riggins! Last week, The Body won a big match against El Mitico Jr and now he’s got a tough challenge in the former two-time champion who’s out to become three-time champion. Peter, this is the kind of match that the Last Rebels is going to present every week. Matches that matter. Winner continues in the tournament. Loser is on the outside looking in.” Michaels: “Well let’s not waste anymore time!” Main Event Southern Heavyweight Title Tournament Opening Round Fifteen Minute Time Limit “Southern Justice” Jack Griffith versus Richie “The Body” Riggins The crowd was very excited to see “Southern Justice” back in the ring. It has been several years since the former-two time champion has been at his peak. Alcohol and injuries have left him a shell of the wrestler he was thirteen years ago when he was tearing down the house for SCCW -- but he’s still charismatic and incredibly popular, while Riggins was a great foil for this match. This was an old school match. They didn’t work too fast and they told a good story. It was solid action with Griffith starting off hot, then Riggins using an eyerake to take control and then slow the match down. He was focusing on the back of Griffith. The Body hit several sidewalk back breakers -- dropping “Southern Justice” over his knee repeatedly. The fans were really behind the forty-year old Griffith as he ducked a clothesline and began a big come back. It was full of that classic Southern pro wrestling fire and when Jack hit the Jack in The Box to get the three count, the people roared their approval and Griffith punched his ticket to the next round of the tournament. In a decent match, Jack Griffith defeated Richie Riggins in 8:45 by pinfall with a Jack in The Box. Michaels: “And Jack Griffith is on to the next round. Tonight we saw Griffith and Justice Jolson punch their tickets to the semi finals. Who else will join them? Find out next week here on The Last Rebels. For Shane Sneer and everyone here at SCCW, I’m Peter Michaels. See you next time!” Show Rating
  25. The Lee Wright Classic XI The Lee Wright Classic XI Friday, Week 4 July, 2021 Live from Centerpiece Bridge, SC Shown live on The Carolinas Network w Masked Patriot, Ross Henry, Robbie Wright, Riley McManus & Nate DeMarcus vs Spencer Spade, Ernest Youngman, Charger Siaki, Xavi Ferrera & Carl Bernard The opening match was a 5 on 5 showcase, essentially giving all the big stars some time in the ring during an otherwise tag team heavy event. Every man had a chance to hit their signature moves and get a piece of the spotlight, with Henry finishing the bout when he dodged a charging Siaki and caught him on the rebound with the Earthquake Powerslam. Winners: Masked Patriot, Ross Henry, Robbie Wright, Riley McManus & Nate DeMarcus, by pinfall Spade was in a hurry to retrieve his NYCW Empire title belt and leave the ring as soon as the match was over, but he still grabbed a microphone to talk some trash at Ross Henry and Masked Patriot as he retreated to the backstage area, the two men staring daggers at him from inside the ring where their team stood victorious. Lee Wright Classic XI Quarterfinals match w Notorious vs The Heartbreak Express (with Cheerleader Kandii) No strangers to the annual tournament or each other, the two teams went at it with all their usual youthful enthusiasm and athleticism on display, only this time they also had some experience under their belts too. Less of a spotfest and more of a solid wrestling match, this one went on for about 7 minutes before "Jumpin" Johnny Needham miscalculated a dive and set himself up for the Drop Off. Winners: Notorious, by pinfall Lee Wright Classic XI Quarterfinals match Avalanche & Brutus Milano vs Slick Rampage A masterclass of "do"s and "don't"s of tag team wrestling, this one was all about the natural teamwork of Slick Rampage versus Avalanche doing most of the heavy lifting for his team. No stranger to fighting big men, from Boneyard and BB Colossus to Lil' Henry, Slick went toe to toe with the former RIPW prospect while Arnold chipped in with his own mix of strength and athleticism to wear the big man down. Eventually, Avalanche had to retreat and Milano fell dreafuly short of the occasion, with Arnold taking him down just five minutes into the match thanks to his ever impressive Cannonball Senton. Winners: Slick Rampage, by pinfall Lee Wright Classic XI Quarterfinals match The Death Squad vs The Southern Stars If this matchup felt unspectacular at first, it wasn't after the announce team broke it down: both teams have displayed unnatural chemistry together, they've both held the Piledriver Tag Team championships and they each had a big win the other lacked; the Death Squad have held the COTT World Tag Team titles, while the Southern Stars have won the tournament before. With plenty of brawling and the occasional hold or suplex, this match was better than expected and will certainly be remember as one of the best performances of the Finnish giant Annihilus in recent memory, despite the Squad ending up on the losing side after Harker pinned Wolfe with a spine crunching Stump Piledriver. Winners: The Southern Stars, by pinfall Lee Wright Classic XI Quarterfinals match w Mexican Hardcore Killers vs The Mid Atlantic Express (with Lisa Bowen) If the teams in the previous match were pretty similar, these two couldn't be more different. On one hand, the West Coast duo of E-Z and Sanchez Villano, who cut their teeth in the California hardcore scene swinging weapons and taking crazy dives. On the other, the so-oldschool-it's-painful pair of MAW alumni, the southern grapplers Syd Collier and the Architect. A clash of styles more than anything, this match played up the contrast to a great effect and ended with E-Z tapping out to the Architect's Blueprint. Winners: The Mid Atlantic Express, by submission With the quarterfinal stage of the tournament complete, "Playboy" Jake Sawyer was shown backstage with his clients as he once again attempted to talk Piledriver Women's champion Killer Kass into joining his group. Kass didn't seem interested but things took a turn when former title holder "American Woman" Lora Washington stepped into the scene and requested a rematch for the title. Seeing his chance, Sawyer jumped in to announce that Melanie Trigg had just been cleared to wrestle, so he had a proposal to make: his three clients, against Washington and two of her allies. Whoever scores the pin, gets to wrestle Kass for the gold! Lee Wright Classic XI Semifinals match Notorious vs Slick Rampage As hard hitting as they come, this match was physical from bell to bell. Despite their past as hardcore wrestlers, Notorious and Slick stuck to straightforward wrestling, a strike-heavy style that Arnold was all too happy to keep up with. Notorious had the experience on this one, but the uncanny timing of Slick Rampage was more than a match for it, on top of that team having a serious size and power advantage which eventually led to Slick chokeslamming Barrera with his Slick-Back finisher that sent his team to the finals. Winners: Slick Rampage, by pinfall Lee Wright Classic XI Semifinals match w The Southern Stars vs The Mid Atlantic Express (with Lisa Bowen) Two teams with an ongoing feud in Piledriver Wrestling over the tag team titles, these two were no strangers to each other and despite their several matches already, having another within the confines of a tournament was enough to make it feel fresh enough. Bowen did her best at ringside and remained a constant threat to interfere, yet the match itsellf was so exciting she smartly held back instead of trying to steal the spotlight from the wrestlers. The Stars really sold the lingering effects of their quarterfinals match against the Death Squad, telling a great story that ended with a desperate Harker in tears as he tapped out to Collier's Texas Cloverleaf. Winners: The Southern Stars, by submisson Piledriver United States title match Reaper © vs Logan Diaz Reaper has been nothing short of a dominant champion in the nine months since he won the title, taking on all comers and leaving nothing but a trail of bodies in his wake. Diaz, a former US and Piledriver champion himself, came into this match after losing a devastating Last Man Standing match against his cousin James, the culmination of a long and brutal rivalry between the two. Fans were hot to see two popular and long time members of the roster square off, with Diaz tapping into his arsenal of strikes instead of his usual grappling, well aware that he couldn't hope to move the 360pounder around much. This also played into the question of how he could hope to pull off his Belly to Belly Suplex and Logan indeed tried (and failed) several times before Reaper demolished him with a Death Bomb to retain. Winner: Reaper, by pinfall Reaper makes defence number 4 of his Piledriver United States title Lee Wright Classic XI Finals match w Slick Rampage vs The Mid Atlantic Express (with Lisa Bowen) It all boiled down to this. Slick Rampage, a surprise hit that saved both Slick's career after losing the Piledriver Championship and Arnold's career after he left SWF to return to Piledriver Wrestling, had made it to the finals. Their opponents, the MAW faithful and former champions, revitalized under the leadership of Lisa Bowen and coming of a big victory over the reigning Piledriver Tag Team champions in the semifinals. Both teams had already wrestled two matches earlier and they did indeed bear the scars of those battles, a factor they played up in this slow burner match that built on the drama as they pushed each other to the limits. As even as a match can get, this had both teams looking like they could have won and indeed just before the sixteenth minute, the Architect put Arnold in the Blueprint, only for Arnold to roll over and hold his opponent's shoulders on the mat for a three count instead of tapping out. Winners: Slick Rampage, by a flash pin The show ended with Lee Wright, Gorgon and El Masked Sheik coming out to award the trophies to Cali Slick and Deever Arnold, who celebrated their victory for the fans. Once that was over, Gorgon and Sheik announced the official induction of Lee Wright into the Piledriver Hall of Fame, alongside Sam Keith, Peter Michaels and Sheik Ali Al Avatar (who is totally a different person from El Masked Sheik). Lee Wright wrapped things up with an emotional speech about his retirement, highlighting the fact that he's already a PGHW Hall of Famer for his in-ring career, individually and as a team with Raymond Diaz, but this induction is for his work as trainer, head coach, business owner and promoter of Piledriver, his own brainchild of which he's extremely proud of.
