  1. Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix B Block Night 1 Tuesday W1 April 2018 Gunma Hall, Kanto Attendance: 300 (sold out) MUSCLE Serizawa & Double K vs Rokuemon Matsushita, Kyuichi Matsumoto & Eikichi Itou First night of the B Block began with a six man tag built around the upcoming GP matchup of Serizawa and Matsushita. Despite Serizawa's rough start, his team got the win thanks to Double K, who smartly avoided big man Matsushita to wear down and defeat his two young teammates. In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, MUSCLE Serizawa, Kiyotaka and Gidayu Katou defeated Rokuemon Matsushita, Kyuichi Matsumoto and Eikichi Itou in 8:10 when Kiyotaka defeated Eikichi Itou by submission with a Kimura. Yoshinaka Taku & Motoyuki Miyake vs Conner Threepwood & Shuzo Utagawa In the second match of the night, BCG World champion Yoshinaka Taku teamed with the BCG Challengers Series title holder Motoyuki Miyake against Threepwood and Utagawa. Taku and Threepwood had some interesting exchanges in light of their highly anticipated singles clash, but Miyake's presence tipped the scales in favour of his team in a solid contest that ended with Utagawa taking the pin. In a bout that had good wrestling but didn't have much heat, Yoshinaka Taku and Motoyuki Miyake defeated Conner Threepwood and Shuzo Utagawa in 9:25 when Motoyuki Miyake defeated Shuzo Utagawa by pinfall with a Knock Out Kick. American Demolition Mk.II vs Pavel Vanzycha & Logan Diaz In the last of the preliminary matchups, Vanzycha put in a solid performance alongside the hot new prospect that is Logan Diaz against the ever-dangerous pairing of Smith and Harker. All four men had some great moments, but in the end a Stump Piledriver finished the match with authority. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, American Demolition Mk.II defeated Pavel Vanzycha and Logan Diaz in 7:39 when Animal Harker defeated Logan Diaz by pinfall with a Stump Piledriver. Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix B Block match Bunrakuken Torii vs Giant Brody Unlike his Partnership of Pain teammate the day prior, Giant Brody was unable to start his GP with a win as well but given the quality of opposition he was up against, there was no shame in his performance and ultimate loss to one of BCG's greatest competitors in Bunrakuken Torii. In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Bunrakuken Torii defeated Giant Brody in 9:06 by pinfall with a Spinning Forearm Smash. Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix B Block match Funakoshi vs Naozane Goto The first real shock in this year's Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix, a time limit draw between BCG's standard bearer Funakoshi and the massive former sumo competitor Goto gave each man a point to start with, but given how Funakoshi is among the favourites to win the block, if not the entire tournament, he was the one to suffer more from the match outcome. Although he was able to withstand the onslaught of powerhouse Goto, Funakoshi was also unable to finish off the big man, especially when it came to lifting him up for his finisher. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Funakoshi drew with Naozane Goto in 15:00 when the time limit expired. Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix B Block match Blast Ikoma vs Ray Snow An extremely physical match in the main event that really could have gone either way, this one saw TagMania 5 winner Blast Ikoma take on Ray Snow. Between Ikoma's explosive suplexes and Snow's stiff striking offense, fans were treated to a textbook strong style contest that saw Snow score his first two points in this year's Grand Prix, putting Ikoma in a spot where he has to play catch up for the rest of the tournament. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Ray Snow defeated Blast Ikoma in 12:49 by pinfall with a Spinning Back Fist. Show Rating: StandingsRay Snow (2 points) Bunrakuken Torii (2 points) Funakoshi (1 point) Naozane Goto (1 point) Giant Brody (0 points) Blast Ikoma (0 points)
  2. FCW Puerto Rican Championship King Kong Kennedy presented by Carl Batch versus Puerto Rican Power © Kennedy is no future champ, first title defense for the boss "The Tap Out Artist" Billy Russell versus "The Triple Threat" Davis Wayne Newton Seems like Russell is a pretty big deal and getting a decent push Kip Keenan & Nate DeMarcus versus Samoan Demolition presented by "Playboy" Jake Sawyer Samoan Demolition need to look strong and Nate is probably taking the pin here as he adjusts and builds his local pop. Interested to see how he develops in FCW "The Maniac" Carlos Gonzalez versus Tex Tegan I understand Gonzalez was a let down last time, then there's Historian's bias when it comes to cowboys... FCW People's Championship Molokai Milk versus Ox Mastadon © presented by Carl Batch Milk is great, but I'm guessing he needs some Puerto Rican popularity first Plus Ox is too good to lose just yet Dem Boys versus The Wasteland Warriors Warriors lack chemistry. Plus hillbillies, rednecks and Historian's bias  Curtis Shaw versus Xavi Ferrera presented by "Playboy" Jake Sawyer Xavi was a champion hurdler. It is said his vertical leap is enough to propel him to the moon, but just in case, strap a rocket to his boots anyway Max Mayhem versus Prometheous presented by Maryam Vega Squash match
  3. Thank you all for your predictions and your support. It goes a long way towards motivating me to carry on. Same goes for all the diaries you enjoy, drop a line to cheer the writers on, it's free and it ensures your favourite diary will continue!
  4. Team Clash Series was a proper tag team showcase! Don't care about chemistry, experience or performance, those teams really look like they belong together. Great work Bison, keep it up!
  5. <p>There you have it folks, Historian won the prediction contest for Devil's Playground and requested a Taipei Deathmatch. Now, do we have an understanding?”</span></p><p> </p><p> Tombstone and the Comedian nod with a nasty grin on their faces. The smaller team tries to take the champions by surprise and kick off the match with a stereo suicide dive onto the Truckers as they approach the ring. This sets the tone for the match, a chaotic mess of weapon spots and daredevil stunts with the Truckers getting most of the offense in what turns out to be a glorified squash. The ever-dangerous Animal Harker returns to singles action after a long period of tagging with Hammer Hadley and after that, Bulldozer Brandon Smith for TagMania 5. Though not exactly a favourite to win the block, Harker is a dangerous competitor who could nevertheless deprive others of valuable points and cause damage that may come to haunt his opponents along the gruelling tournament. Conner Threepwod is a similar case, having spent much time teaming with Naozane Goto and currently holding the BCG World Tag Team titles with him. His technical acumen is bound to give his opponents problem and his contest against one half of the former tag champions big man Matsushita is a highly anticipated match. MUSCLE Serizawa is entering the tournament hot off winning TagMania 5 alongside Blast Ikoma, so he will be out to prove his value as a singles competitor too. Next up is Pavel Vanzycha, arguably one of BCG's top foreign wrestlers and a hot favourite to win the whole block, his rematch against Yoshinaka Taku will be decisive in how the tournament evolves for both men. Rokuemon Matsushita is the man with the size and power advantage in this block, a heavy favourite to win but also a man returning from injury, a fact that puts his ability to perform in question. Last but not least, the BCG World champion himself, Yoshinaka Taku, will have all the pressure in the world to succeed and win the entire GP. Taku can barely afford any losses, not just for the points but also because anyone pinning him in a singles match here will have the right to request another match against him in the near future with the title on the line.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="jDRVOCy.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/jDRVOCy.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="PBv4Hhr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PBv4Hhr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="8jfbhLn.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8jfbhLn.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong><img alt="HHP9byq.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/HHP9byq.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Ffwz2MA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Ffwz2MA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="YrMwg7C.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YrMwg7C.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Block B</span></strong></p><p><strong> Blast Ikoma, Bunrakiken Torii, Funakoshi,</strong></p><p><strong> Giant Brody, Naozane Goto, Ray Snow</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Block B has already been nicknamed the Bruiser Block and with so many strong style and powerful competitors in it, it's easy to see why. Former BCG World champion Blast Ikoma is making a strong comeback in light of his TagMania 5 tournament victory, but he's not the only one in his block who has held that title in the past. Both Bunrakuken Torii and Funakoshi will be gunning to win the block and the entire Grand Prix, which in turn should make for many exciting matchups. Giant Brody and Naozane Goto, much like Ikoma, are mostly known as tag team specialists and will have to prove their worth as singles competitors too. With their respective teammates in the opposite block, many fans have already started to speculate that we may be heading towards a partner versus partner final to the tournament. Last but not least is Ray Snow, a man who has been called the American counterpart to Europe's Pavel Vanzycha, since both men are non-Japanese, tough, resilient, hard hitting and both have repeatedly toured with Pride Glory Honor Wrestling to prove alll of the above again and again.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="POBEZKK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/POBEZKK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="7Mb9acF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7Mb9acF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="3gGaTGc.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/3gGaTGc.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="SetJXLQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SetJXLQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> Notable tournament absences this year include Bulldozer Brandon Smith, Motoyuki Miyake and the team of Double K. However, all those four men are already scheduled to face each other at Test of Champions and have thus been excluded from this year's Grand Prix, the winner of which will headline Test of Champions in a match for the BCG World title (with the outcome still unknown in case the reigning champion Yoshinaka Taku also wins the Grand Prix). Smith will be defending his BCG National title against Kiyotaka, following the outcome of American Demolition Mk. II versus Double K at TagMania 5, in which Kiyotaka was able to tap out the champion and knock that team out of the race. Likewise, Gidayu Katou was able to pin the reigning BCG Challengers Series champion in a tag match at the latest installment of BCG RISE and will therefore be wrestling him one on one for the title at Test of Champions.</p>
  13. Well, my predictions for NLNO were all way off, but I enjoyed the show nevertheless. Plus that new portrait really works for Gabriel Shaw. That's an old King Bison one, right?
  14. TagMania 5 BCG TagMania 5 Friday W4 February 2018 Hakodate Athletic Field, Hokkaido Attendance: 1.952 Kyuichi Matsumoto, Eikichi Itou & Shuzo Utagawa vs T-Bone Bright, Hammer Hadley & Ryobe Uno A solid six man tag match to start off the show, with local talent Ryobe Uno joining the mix of young lions. Every man had a chance to show what they can do, with Matsumoto and Bright leading their respective teams until Itou flattened Uno with his patented Itou Bomb for the finish. Decent action, if somewhat sub-par for current BCG standards, but still good enough to warm up the live crowd. In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Kyuichi Matsumoto, Eikichi Itou and Shuzo Utagawa defeated T-Bone Bright, Ryobe Uno and Hammer Hadley in 10:06 when Eikichi Itou defeated Ryobe Uno by pinfall with an Itou Bomb. Tournament Quarter Final 1 Muscle Blasters vs The Ring Generals The tournament kicked off next, featuring the returning Ring Generals and a brand new, sharper look from Shuzo Utagawa to go with his new status after having outgrown being a young lion by the end of last year. This was also evident in the in-ring action, with Muscle Blasters making the best of their chemistry and experience against the former COTT World Tag Team champions to start the tournament strong with a big win over two high profile competitors. In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, Muscle Blasters defeated The Ring Generals in 10:25 when Blast Ikoma defeated Dean Waldorf by pinfall with a Northern Lights Bomb. Tournament Quarter Final 2 Threepwood & Goto vs Diazawa Utagawa wasn't the only one to debut a new look in this show, as Conner Threepwood also sported some new ring gear to go along with his boosted confidence now that he's obviously adapted to Japan and puroresu. The match itself though was nothing like the previous one, as the reigning BCG World Tag Team champions threw their opponents from pillar to post in a very one-sided bout. Diaz had some bright moments, but Takizawa quickly ran out of steam and the champions steamrolled their way to the next stage of the tournament with characteristic ease In a bout that had good wrestling but didn't have much heat, Threepwood & Goto defeated Diazawa in 5:54 when Naozane Goto defeated Masao Takizawa by pinfall with a Goto Slam. Tournament Quarter Final 3 Funakoshi & Tanaka vs Matsuzawa & Shikitei Matsuzawa and Shikitei got a loud, if mixed reaction from the crowd and wrestling against BCG icon Funakoshi in this match was highly symbolic. Their tactic was simple, but effective: avoid the former BCG World champion and focus on his young, inexperienced partner. It worked too, because Matsuzawa did indeed manage to score the pin and send his team to the next phase, with fans booing the outcome of the match but unable to change anything about it. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Matsuzawa & Shikitei defeated Funakoshi & Tanaka in 9:48 when Yoshisada Matsuzawa defeated Jotaro Tanaka by pinfall with a Double Arm DDT. Tournament Quarter Final 4 American Demolition Mk. II vs Double K Perhaps the most high profile match of the first round, this one saw the return of Bulldozer Brandon Smith and reunion of American Demolition Mk. II against the rapidly rising duo of Kiyotaka and Gidayu Katou. This one was intense, with the powerful Katou clashing against the two rough gaijin and holding his own before tagging in Kiyotaka, who tried to slow down the pace of the match and wear down AmDem Mk. II with ground-based submission holds and textbook mat wrestling. It was a dramatic and highly competitive clash, with an equally dramatic finish of Smith trying to protect his injured back only to let his guard down and allow Kiyotaka to slap on the Kimura. Smith fought it, but couldn't hold on forever and eventually tapped out, ending his team's hopes of a tournament win early but also giving Kiyotaka reasonable grounds to request a shot at his BCG National title. In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Double K defeated American Demolition Mk.II in 10:29 when Kiyotaka defeated Bulldozer Brandon Smith by submission with a Kimura. Tournament Semi Final 1 Muscle Blasters vs Double K Double K had little time to celebrate, as they immediately had to wrestle their next stage match against Blast Ikoma and MUSCLE Serizawa. This proved to be a deciding factor in this match, with Muscle Blasters having a slight advantage due to whatever rest they were able to get during the rest of the quarterfinal matches. In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Muscle Blasters defeated Double K in 10:27 when MUSCLE Serizawa defeated Gidayu Katou by pinfall with a MUSCLE Lariat. Tournament Semi Final 2 Threepwood & Goto vs Matsuzawa & Shikitei If Matsuzawa & Shikitei's previous match was somewhat symbolic, this was blatantly so as they went up against the reigning BCG World Tag Team champions. Though neither a regular nor an experienced team, Matsuzawa and Shikitei brought enough individual talent to not only stand their ground, but eventually turn the tide as Shikitei managed to force the technical grappler Threepwood to submit. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Matsuzawa & Shikitei defeated Threepwood & Goto in 10:19 when Omezo Shikitei defeated Conner Threepwood by submission with a Cross Armbreaker. Six Man Tag Showcase match Yoshinaka Taku, Bunrakuken Torii & Motoyuki Miyake vs Pavel Vanzycha, Ray Snow & Giant Brody Providing fans and wrestlers alike a much needed break before the big tournament final, this one was a great bout all around as three of BCG's mainstays took on three of the roster's top gaijin. This was a textbook strong style match and extremely well received too, with fans erupting in cheers by the time Yoshinaka Taku scored the pin over Ray Snow. In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Bunrakuken Torii, Motoyuki Miyake and Yoshinaka Taku defeated Giant Brody, Pavel Vanzycha and Ray Snow in 11:52 when Yoshinaka Taku defeated Ray Snow by pinfall with a Full Nelson Bomb. Tournament Finals match Muscle Blasters vs Matsuzawa & Shikitei It all came down to this. The homegrown team of loyalists versus the duo of men who left to join the opposition. The atmosphere was buzzing and the wrestling was good, but between the four men's exhaustion and having to out-perform the previous match, this wasn't as spectacular as it could or should have been. However, the finale did come with a sense of relief and celebration, as Ikoma hit the Northern Light Bomb on Shikitei for the pin, defeating the unloyal challengers and winning the tournament. In a decent match, Muscle Blasters defeated Matsuzawa & Shikitei in 14:30 when Blast Ikoma defeated Omezo Shikitei by pinfall with a Northern Lights Bomb. Blast Ikoma and MUSCLE Serizawa win the BCG TagMania titles. BCG TagMania 5 winners Muscle Blasters Blast Ikoma & MUSCLE Serizawa Show Rating:

It is also announced that this new group around the Guru of Gore is called “House of Horrors” which won’t win any prizes for being original, but it gets the point across.</p><p> </p><p> The Guru himself seems busy trying to distract or recruit Australian Devil, but a quick suicide dive in the first minute of the match settles it and off to the races we go in a truly chaotic mess of a hardcore match. Meanwhile, Satan’s Spawn literally takes a bite out of the Void’s calf muscle; it’s a gruesome, bloody scene made even worse by the fact that the Void barely seems to react. He does seem to be legitimately injured for the rest of the match though, which makes his expressionless face come across as all the more creepy. He even tries to put Hell’s Jester through a table when his leg caves in, causing both men to clumsily crash through the table. This takes them both out of the match, leaving Satan’s Spawn to pummel Australian Devil senseless before he delivers a Choke Bomb for the pin.</p><p> <strong>Winners: House of Horrors (Hell’s Jester & Satan’s Spawn)</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="ozLd3Bm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ozLd3Bm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="V9qxqnh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/V9qxqnh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> DIW Hardcore Championship Tournament Quarterfinal match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="tDixh5l.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tDixh5l.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="XWcOrNC.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XWcOrNC.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><strong>w</strong><img alt="mKcXBbb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mKcXBbb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> King Malietoa vs Blaze Maximum (with Miss Cerizabeth)</strong></p><p> Malietoa is a sight to behold, the tribal designs on his face meshing with the scars from last week’s bloody match against the wrestler formerly known as Gyula Lakatos. Rokuemon Matsushita was reported to have hurt his wrist delivering his finisher during his RISE opening match and according to doctors, will not be fully recovered until after the tournament show. This means that neither him, nor Giant Brody will be participating in this year's tournament, a heavy blow for the former BCG World Tag Team champions. Former participants Dean Waldorf and Marv Statler have been confirmed to be making a return for the tournament, as has the unlikely duo of Yoshisada Matsuzawa and Omezo Shikitei. Both former members of the BCG roster and partners in the tournament exactly two years ago, Matsuzawa and Shikitei left shortly after to join Golden Canvas Grappling. When the promotion recently released several of its workers citing financial limitations, Matsuzawa and Shikitei were among those who were cut and it will be interesting to see how the BCG fans will receive them, as well as whether their tournament return could evolve into a more permanent connection with the company.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="POBEZKK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/POBEZKK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Demolished no more</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> TagMania will also see the return from injury of reigning BCG National champion, Bulldozer Brandon Smith. 20. See, I normally never give diaries who can't be arsed to at least use worker portraits for their shows a chance, but after reading 11 pages of this craptastic promotion, it is totally in line with its overall vibe. Thank you DotM poll for directing me this way and thank you BC for this. Keep it up!
  21. Just discovered your WMMA dynasty, it explains so much for your booking and presentation/format with WCG!
  22. <p>I'm enjoying this story of Matty Faith being this "almost" guy. Makes him sympathetic and it makes the chase more interesting. I'll admit I've had enough of him and Ranger as the Mission, so if/once he wins a singles title it'll be an interesting payoff.</p><p> </p><p> Puder's promo reminded me of TLCJR's comment about Yoder and how he missed his chance by signing elsewhere. I like how you're going with that story and it's also some solid ground if you ever want to turn him heel: embrace the greed and go for corporate Yoder. Not that I'm asking for it, I don't know what his heel performance is like, whether it suits your plans or if you even want to do that to a prized product of your dojo/company, but judging from the Riley McManus heel turn, I trust you to make it exciting should you ever choose to go down that way.</p>
  23. YES! YES! YES! Loved this idea since I read about it on the draft thread, so glad it's also getting a diary thread!
  24. "Son? What are you thinking about?" His father's words snapped Yoshinaka Taku out of whatever funk he had drifted into. He glanced at the faces gathered around their dinner table. Other than his mother, the only non-family members were his father's two proteges. Nobuhiko Serizawa was every bit as serious as he usually was in the ring or around the locker room. It wasn't just the gravitas of the occasion, it was his everyday character, whether performing in front of the audience or living his life away from the business. On the plate in front of him were carefully selected and placed pieces of sashimi. His glass contained only water. He took his diet as seriously as he took his workout routine and his body was a testament to that devotion, earning him the nickname of MUSCLE Serizawa. Kimi Kawano was as much of an odd sight in this table as he was in the ring. His face had that permanent scowl on it; his body was covered in scars and tattoos to the point where you could assume he was a foot soldier for the yakuza. An outcast and a misfit through and through, it was no wonder he'd found a home in Ryu Kajahara's garbage promotion of Warrior Engine XXV. Somehow his father took a shine to him and took him under his wing a couple of years ago, when Kawano and Battle Sakata toured with Black Canvas for the TagMania tournament. Maybe ol' Toshi thought he could straighten this man out. Make him a proper wrestler. "You're probably wondering why I've gathered you all here tonight over dinner..." Toshinobu Taku began, glass in hand. "First of all, because I always wanted to say that line..." The group giggled. His mother less so than everyone else, Yoshinaka noticed. "I spoke to my fellow old timer, Masayuki Shiga, on the phone before calling you" Toshi Taku continued. ""It seems we've both made up our minds at the same time, we're hanging up the boots and I wanted you let you know first before we go public." Serizawa looked shocked. Yoshinaka more or less knew it was coming since his dad stopped working for Black Canvas. Kawano's expression hadn't changed one bit from that permanent scowl on his face. You could probably tell him his mom died in the tsunami and he wouldn't move a muscle still. "Taku-sama" Serizawa spoke, but only after he was sure his mentor was done talking. "Surely you can delay this a little more? TagMania is coming up and I'm sure everyone would love to see Team Taku reunited for one last time. Think of it as your farewell tour." "That's not your decision to make" Toshinobu replied, badly faking wisdom in the tone of his voice. "They haven't called me and they probably won't. I said my goodbyes at the Lion's Roar. I'm not taking it back and there's no way TagMania is going to be bigger. Besides, I'd only be stinking up that ring anyhow. I'm old, I'm rusty and the bar is insanely high thanks to youngsters like you. My contacts at Golden Canvas tell me Kudo's got the company in debt and it doesn't look like they can turn it around. Maeda would love nothing more than to buy back the rights to the Golden Lion and win his war. When that happens, you'll have the GCG roster in your locker room as well. No room for old lions like me." "The bigger they are, the harder they fall" Kawano interrupted. "Burning Hammer have been doing so bad, they fired Kaneko and re-hired Komine in hopes he can restore them to glory. How ironic is that?" Yoshinaka almost had the mental image of Kawano throwing up a middle finger in his mind. He would never be good enough for the likes of PGHW, Burning Hammer or Golden Canvas even, so he enjoyed their downfall. Probably another reason why he was a perfect fit for Kajahara's counter culture circus. "It is a time of change, for sure" Toshinobu replied. "And as I look back, I am proud of what I see. I've had a good career. I've had the honour of seeing my son enter the business. I wrestled next to him, winning gold more than once. But I'm even prouder as I look forward. Black Canvas is about to prove its point and win the war, with my son leading the charge as its world champion. It is the best retirement gift I could hope for. So tonight, it is really a passing of the torch. I want us to celebrate my past achievements as much as we celebrate my son and his future achievements." They raised their glasses and drank to the toast. Yoshinaka couldn't help but question how glad his father's guests really were though...
  25. Friday W4 January 2018 Osaka Athletic Stadium, Kinki Attendance: 5.000 (sold out) Double K vs Diazawa Tag team action to start the show and a predictable loss for the young lion pairing of Diazawa, though it did come with another spectacular performance from Logan Diaz, to the point where fans and media have begun regarding him as Motoyuki Miyake's successor for the title of BCG's hottest young lion prospect. In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Double K defeated Diazawa in 9:37 when Gidayu Katou defeated YL Masao Takizawa by pinfall with a Lariat. Muscle Blasters & Shuzo Utagawa vs Partnership of Pain & Eikichi Itou The presence of twin towers Brody and Matsushita made their team heavy favourite, but it was Itou that proved to be the weak link and ended up costing them the match, falling to Blast Ikoma and his devastating finisher after a strong showing from all six workers involved in this match. In a decent match, Shuzo Utagawa and Muscle Blasters defeated Eikichi Itou and Partnership Of Pain in 9:39 when Blast Ikoma defeated Eikichi Itou by pinfall with a Northern Lights Bomb. Funakoshi & Tanaka vs Harker & Hadley Revisiting their match earlier this month at RISE, the two teams clashed once more in an equally solid bout that also had the same result, although this time it was Harker who scored the pin over Tanaka. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Harker & Hadley defeated Funakoshi & Tanaka in 14:16 when Animal Harker defeated Jotaro Tanaka by pinfall with a Stump Piledriver. Bunrakuken Torii, Motoyuki Miyake & Kyuichi Matsumoto vs Pavel Vanzycha, Threepwood & Goto With both the tag team champions and the holder of the BCG Challengers Series in this match, there was a good chance of earning a title shot for anyone who could pin them in this match and that fact added an extra layer of urgency to the bout. However, it was Matsumoto who tapped out to Vanzycha's Cross Armlock, perhaps a lackluster finish to an otherwise great match all around. In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Pavel Vanzycha and Threepwood & Goto defeated Bunrakuken Torii, Motoyuki Miyake and Kyuichi Matsumoto in 15:50 when Pavel Vanzycha defeated Kyuichi Matsumoto by submission with a Cross Armlock. BCG World title match Yoshinaka Taku © vs Ray Snow After defeating Torii and Funakoshi in a three way match last month at Generations, Ray Snow found himself in the main event for a shot at Yoshi Taku's BCG World title. His sharpened skills after touring with PGHW were on display, but Taku isn't champion by accident and he fought back, pushing this dramatic contest past the twenty minute mark. Tension and drama built up slowly and in the final sequence, Taku hit the second Full Nelson Bomb of the match, after the first one had only gotten him a two count, to retain. In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Yoshinaka Taku defeated Ray Snow in 21:07 by pinfall with a Full Nelson Bomb. Yoshinaka Taku makes defence number 2 of his BCG World title.
