Once Cornell is satisfied, he calls his teammates off and the Nigerian Hit Squad are left in the ring, totally destroyed.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <img alt="KRd8pBF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KRd8pBF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="SbYOV10.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SbYOV10.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Nelson Frye vs Konrad Mäkinen</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> After the viciousness on display prior, fans welcome the sight of Frye and Mäkinen shaking hands after the opening bell in a show of mutual respect, sportsmanship and friendly competition. Despite Frye's obvious advantage on nearly every front, except maybe youth, he sticks with technical wrestling and aims for the Royal Armbar instead of his usual tactics. This does allow the technically-oriented Mäkinen to shine as they go back and forth while announcers wonder if Frye is testing the youngster, perhaps in order to offer him a spot in the League down the line, because it looks like he's taking it a little easy but not exactly underestimating Mäkinen either. Whatever Frye's motives may be, his superior skill at this point just cannot be denied and after a surprisingly solid match, he manages to slap on the Royal Armbar and get the tap out from Mäkinen, which he once again congratulates after the match with a handshake.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><strong>Winner: Nelson Frye</strong></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="VqnREXC.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VqnREXC.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GbpUsBI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GbpUsBI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> John Silver vs "Super Duper" Phillip Cooper</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Silver comes out carrying the all white mask of Captain Hero, which he holds up as he points to his waist, a signal of how he's holding the mask hostage and using the League's wish to reclaim it in order to secure himself a shot at the NGW Cruiserweight championship. The match plays into that story, with Cooper pulling off all his big moves while the dastardly Silver uses every dirty trick in the playbook to shut him down. He isn't above slapping the rookie around either and talking trash in his face, which does fire up Cooper for the occasional short comeback but also lures him in for a high risk move that Silver was ready for and uses it to set up his own finisher for the win.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: John Silver</strong></p><p> <img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="h8WdOUv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h8WdOUv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Silver's win (and antics with the mask of Captain Hero) are quick to bring out the NGW Cruiserweight champion after the match.</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46461" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Lister: <strong>"John Silver... Garner and Knight started the match with the latter slowly taking control as he grounded the Canadian blue chipper. Garner was able to power out and fight back, eventually tagging in the veteran McManus to turn things around. Knight found himself on the receiving end of the veteran's offense and barely escaped a Slingshot Suplex by raking Riley's eyes to tag in the big man Bernard. The Killer came in with a head full of steam but spent too much time showboating, in turn allowing McManus to tag in his partner for a burst of double team moves to regain control of the match. It wasn’t like he had any brotherly friends, but work for DIW long enough and the overall “us against them” atmosphere would get under your skin sooner or later.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>“Same goes for Bryan there”</strong> the Comedian added. <strong>“I’ll give you a call once you’re needed again, mate”</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="2J6zMjU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2J6zMjU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> Bryan Land, the man known as God of War, grimaced. He knew this was coming. He knew it since Hell’s Jester stole the show against him to qualify for the tournament. <strong>“That better be pretty f**king soon, before I hit 40 and retire!”</strong> he jokingly said. The gang burst into awkward laughter. The Comedian was exactly forty years of age and probably (over)due to retire. There were also signs that DIW wasn’t going to draw in the money needed to bring God of War back into the fold any time soon. Hell, there were signs it wasn’t going to be around at all any time soon.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>“I might have a spot open up soon if this kid here kills himself before that!”</strong> the Comedian responded in similarly ‘humorous’ fashion, pointing to the man he was talking about.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="nG8UqhA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/nG8UqhA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> The youngster known as Australian Devil looked at him with a puzzled expression on his -still painted- face. At 24 years of age with just four of them making odd appearances in the indy circuit, he was still somewhat oblivious to these kind of locker room interactions. <strong>“Seriously kid, you got something about you, but you gotta learn how to work without looking so sloppy”</strong> the Comedian told the rookie. AusDev nodded like an eager child looking to make their coach proud.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>“Which brings me to my last point. I’m bringing in a new face to build a group around. Gyula, I’m gonna need you to come up with a name that’s easier to f**king pronounce, because you’re joining that group on your own.”</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="1PMzfIv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/1PMzfIv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> A smile slashed Gyula Lakatos’ face in two as he realized he was getting a better push. Somehow, the combination of that smile and his goatee made him look even more… satanic than usual. His Ares Death Cult partner though was anything but happy.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="iPA8aQ2.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/iPA8aQ2.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>“The **** d’we do?”</strong> Cesar Sionis roared in anger. <strong>“First you take the titles from us, now you wanna break up the Cult?”</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Comedian sighed. Yeah, this was going all too well to last for long. <strong>“Nothing”</strong> he finally said. <strong>“You did nothing. Which is kind of the point. You’ve been a pain in the ass to deal with, but I sucked it up because of your work. Now there’s new guys coming in and they’re getting more over than you.”</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> “Oh yeah? Like that pot-head Samoan?”</strong> Sionis snapped, clearly unhappy with the answer he got. <strong>“Because he clearly can’t f**king wrestle and last week he showed up too f**king high to go out there, but you kept him around and now he got a win to enter your f**king tournament! Oh, I forgot, he’s related to some f**ktard who’s wrestling for Rhode Island across the f**king ocean, as if anyone f**king cares! Guess that’s what really matters for you, huh?”</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Comedian was taking it all with a stern face. This wasn’t the first time he was getting crap from people in the business. Far from it, actually. King Malietoa was fuming though.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="tDixh5l.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tDixh5l.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> The air smelled of gunpowder, but unlike Sionis, the burly Samoan realized that aggression would only make matters worse for his case right now.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>“See, that’s why you’re a pain in the ass, Cesar”</strong> the Comedian said with a calm voice once Sionis was done yelling. <strong>“Get the f**k out of my locker room. You’re fired.”</strong></p><p> </p><p> Sionis snorted in defiance. <strong>“The f**k I am! I quit!”</strong> he said, then spun on his heel to storm out the door.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>“Yeah, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out!”</strong> shouted the Comedian. For all his apparent calm, he just had to take a jab. As the adrenaline died down, he looked around him and saw his workers, stunned.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>“Right, let’s wrap this up and have a goddamn drink, aye?”</strong></p><p> </p><p> The locker room erupted in cheers once more.</p></div><p></p><p></p>

  12. Honestly? I'm ready and hyped for this. As nice as it is to see familiar canon-CVerse people, this diary has been going on for long enough that I'm starting to prefer its unique people like Homegrown, the Devil's Rejects etc (Bison's awesome renders help with that too). Makes it feel more of a self-made company in the long run than a place where other promotions' rejects can shine a-la TNA. Only bad part is we're never getting that Keith family feud
  13. Not sure who's playing Dante, but that render gives me serious Darby Allin vibes and I like it!
  14. I'll never tire of pulling your leg when it comes to your tropes, though you did score a big equalizer with the idea of a star spangled cowboy *shudder* Wait, I remember BHOTWG closing after a financial scandal, but where on earth is SOTBPW on that list? What happened?
  15. <p>So, first big DIW show is in the books and I hope you people like it. Big thanks to King Bison for the (fresh) Pinn and Sturt re-renders.</p><p> </p><p> Prediction Results:</p><p> King Bison: 1/3</p><p> HiPlus: 1/3</p><p> Historian: 2/3</p><p> Willr0ck: 1/3</p><p> </p><p> Historian wins this round, plus he kinda got one of the two surprise competitors right, since King Malietoa is one half of Samoan Demolition. Ergo, he gets to pick the stipulation for the DIW Hardcore tournament final!</p>

The tone is set from the start as Lakatos and Cionis enter the ring but instead of handing the title belts to the (Death) Ref, they use them to smash their opponents in the face and the match is off to an early start! Focusing on the smaller member of their -still massive- opponents, the ADC whip him to the corner and follow up with charging hits that have Diesel Dan collapse on the mat as they slide out in search of items to swing as weapons. Never a man to shun away from ultraviolence, Guyla Lakatos produces a bunch of light tubes and rolls back into the ring, triumphantly holding them up like they’re a f**king sword or something… Meanwhile, Cionis pulls out a table...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="font-size:14px;">*CRASH*</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hawkins:</strong> Big Rig just charged onto the table as Cionis was pulling it out! 17. <p>Matty Faith winning the tournament came completely out of left field for me, but I guess it is a step towards re-establishing the man after his initial success and subsequent "jobber to the stars" spot on his own or as part of the Mission. Having a second generation stars final was a pretty CWL thing to do too <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> The suspension of James Diaz also came out of left field. I know he starts as a negative influence but I figured he'd have gotten better by now. Hope the suspension does the trick, plus it could be used to spin a storyline too since James is heel.</p><p> </p><p> I'm happy for Funakoshi breaking into PGHW, even if I had higer hopes for him in the tournament. As good as he is, he'll do better in Japan and a straightforward puroresu promotion than being another face in a foreign promotion.</p><p> </p><p> <em>The following workers have been granted their release from CWL (some were in TGL under developmental contracts):</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ranger:</strong> Much like Matty Faith, his initial success came to a halt and since he wasn't doing something like winning a title or tournament to bounce back, it makes sense for him to go. Probably letting Faith go full-on singles star now.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>The Fighting Irish:</strong> Not the best, not the worst either. Think they didn't have enough time to shine. Maybe they'd have a chance once the European Stretching Crew left, but alas.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Skip Beau:</strong> Never cared for Skip, in CWL or otherwise.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hellcat Hernandez:</strong> Hellcat is a favourite style of female worker, though she struggles to cut it in QAW and looks like she had the same issue here. I'm guessing some kind of hardcore promotion would be the best fit for her.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Masked Stranger:</strong> As generic as the Masked Mauler, but can actually wrestle. Apparently though not good enough to stay.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Toni Parisi:</strong> I like to think the New York Badass quit after seeing one too many cowgirls, rednecks, country strong and salt of the earth ladies getting a better push than her <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ray Badell:</strong> Ray was the Blue Collar Brawler, right? But if I can't remember him, I guessing he wasn't that featured, right?</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Harvey Robbinfield:</strong> Harvey's kinda decent for a sub-Cult promotion but not good enough for TCW or CWL.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rocky Weatherfield:</strong> Rocky was a thing, I guess. Never has been a thing for me, so not sad to see him go.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Teresa Perez, Houston Handley:</strong> Wasn't one of these ladies married to Torment or something? Did some other promotion sign them away?</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Tiffany Jade:</strong> Tif's good all around and pretty over, strange to see her go.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Foxxy LaRue:</strong> Baddest chick in wrestling. Hope she goes on to be the figurehead of some all-female promotion and climbs to the top of the wrestling world.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hammer Hadley:</strong> Going to Japan at last?</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Kip Keenan:</strong> Keenan was signed? Ugh, star-spangled outfits won't get you far in CWL kid, better put on a stetson <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Blaisdell Michaud, Brian Stones, Cody Franklin, Eric Hackney, Danny Beneteau, Jurobei Takano, Tim London, Tommy Huey, Walter Lewis:</strong> Guessing these were TGL folks.</p>
  18. NGW Back to the Future (Weekly TV show) Held on Monday, Week 1 of August 2013 Venue: L'Aquila Universita, L'Aquila, Italy, Europe Attendance: 3.667, Ratings: 0.75 (569.070 viewers), Shown on Continental Sports X1 The show kicks off with a video showing highlights from the main event of last week's Terror Rising, in which "The Gothic Grappler" Fusae Etsuko successfully defended the NGW Women's title against Geena the Warrior Princess. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5r1zvLUuBcM" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> As the footage plays, both Etsuko and Geena make their entrances and enter the ring. Once the crowd settles down, Geena is the first to speak. Fans cheer for both women and a "fight forever" chant builds up, before Etsuko takes the mic. The Ivanoff Brothers vs Champagne Lover and Giovanni Bruno The loss of the NGW Heavyweight title really seemed to affect Lover's focus and as the match turned against his team, he was less and less interested in helping out Giovanni Bruno. In a decent match, The Ivanoff Brothers defeated Champagne Lover and Giovanni Bruno in 10:02 when Ivan Ivanoff defeated Giovanni Bruno by pinfall with a Russian Roulette. Winners: The Ivanoff Brothers Backstage, the Real Deal are gathered around their leader and brand new NGW Heavyweight champion, Edward Cornell. The Lawal twins look surprised by the announcement and seem to object. Edison gets in the way to protect Cornell and Hossam to break it all up. From behind his defenders, Cornell continues on the mic. Elsewhere backstage, another group is gathered together. The League of Heroe's leader, Nelson Frye, addresses the men and women around him. Laid back as usual, Matravers is the first to break the uneasy silence that follows Frye's words. Lister looks down at the NGW Cruiserweight title around his waist, then up again at the rest of the group. John Silver & Leon Harrison vs Team Fly NGW's founding duo wrestled the former NGW Cruiserweight Tag Team champions in this match, a set up for the implied singles matches that Silver might be getting against Lister and Matravers. As if confirming Lister's words earlier, Silver got a dirty win for his team and wasn't shy about yelling insults to both his opponents throughout the match. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, John Silver and Leon Harrison defeated Team Fly in 9:46 when John Silver defeated Adam Matravers by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage. Winners: John Silver & Leon Harrison The camera cuts to the familiar dinghy basement that's been serving as the Czars' meeting, drinking and training room. The view is momentarily obstructed as the massive frame of Marat Khoklov walks in front, headed for an old punching bag that's hanging from a chain on the roof. Marat turns the bag around, revealing a photo of Champagne Lover taped on it. Without a word, Khoklov rips off the photo and pulls out a photo of Edward Cornell from his gym bag, which he proceeds to slap on the bag instead. w Nigerian Hit Squad vs Wael Hossam & Roy Edison (with Edward Cornell) A match booked earlier during the group's segment, this one emphasized the storytelling aspect of the group's dissent and how they punched it out between the ropes. Cornell was observing from the sidelines, but when needed, provided a crucial distraction that allowed Edison to slap on the Arm Bar and get the win for his team. In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Wael Hossam and Roy Edison defeated Nigerian Hit Squad in 10:26 when Roy Edison defeated Rahabad Lawal by submission with an Arm Bar after interference from Edward Cornell. Winners: Wael Hossam & Roy Edison With the menacing frames of the NGW Heavyweight Tag Team champions looming behind her, Signe Lytjohan cut a promo to hype up her clients. w Joanne Rodriguez vs Viper McKenna (with Sebastian Koller) Rodriguez had a huge night at Terror Rising, first with a stellar performance and victory over Jeri "Air" Behr and then with a challenge for Fusae Etsuko's NGW Women's title. She kept up her streak in this episode's main event and picked up some more steam in light of her upcoming title match against a skilled wrestler and NGW mainstay in Viper McKenna. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Joanne Rodriguez defeated Viper McKenna in 13:45 by pinfall with a J-Rocker. Deadly Game 2020 Friday, Week 4 September, 2020 Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC Shown live on The Carolinas Network Main Event Double Diaz vs Cali Slick & Reaper Cali Slick cheated his way to a win over Logan Diaz for the Piledriver Championship and the two have been butting heads since, potentially leading to a rematch. Meanwhile, Slick seems to have found an effective ally in the monstrous Reaper, but the monster has his own agenda and openly challenged Jebediah for the U.S. title. Logan has his cousin James, but they too seem to be struggling to get on the same page. Which team will end up overcoming their mistrust to win this last big match before next month's Where It All Begins Again? Semi-main Event Julius Moore vs "The Monster" Annihilus Julis Moore has been tearing through the biggest men on the roster, his latest victim being "Killer" Carl Bernard. Now he's challenged a bigger and more seasoned graduate of the Piledriver School in Annihilus. Can he top the Monster or is this where his winning streak ends? Intergender Six Person match Patiot Power (Masked Patriot, Lora Washington & Miss Atlantic Wrestling) vs Buck Winchester, Brooke Tyler & Selina Svelte Piledriver Wrestling's uber-patriotic trio goes to war against their respective enemies. Masked Patriot is looking at a big match against Buck Winchester down the road, Washington is set to put her title against Tyler's career while Miss Atlantic Wrestling seeks to punish Selina Svelte for purposely injuring her. Will America prevail or will their dastardly rivals find a way to steal the win? Tag Team Grudge match The Southern Stars vs The Boys from the Yukon Howlin' Mad Mort and Whitehorse Whittaker interfered in the Stars' match against the Good Ol' Boys, causing critics to say that Harker and William only won because the former tournament winners were knocked out at that point. The Stars are looking to prove themselves here and pick up some momentum in light of their upcoming rematch against the Good Ol' Boys, but the Boys from the Yukon are not to be taken lightly and will be looking to score a major win over this year's Sam Keith Classic winners to put themselves back in the picture! Opening non-title Tag Team match Riley McManus & Quentrel Garner vs Carl Bernard & Jules Knight The Piledriver Tag Team champions are looking to pick up steam before defending their titles against the Mid Atlantic Express at Where It All Begins Again. Their opponents, two dangerous graduates of the Piledriver School. Collier and the Architect will be watching this one and are more than likely to interfere. Will they do so and if yes, will it swing thins in favor of Bernard and Knight or can McManus & Garner get away with a victory before their big match next month?
  20. War for Territory #33 War for Territory #33 Saturday, Week 2 September, 2020 Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC The show kicked off with an angry Masked Patriot calling out Buck Winchester and demanding an explanation for his actions which cost him the title match against Cali Slick at last month's Headstrong show. Winchester came out and cut a short but sweet promo, saying he realized why he's repeatedly failed to re-capture the US title and that's because... he's better than that and should be fighting for the Piledriver Championship instead! Of course, that means he'll have to go through the likes of Masked Patriot and they almost went at it on the spot, before security flooded the ring to separate them, however a one on one match seems almost certain down the road as we head to next month's Where It All Begins Again. w Claire Winters & Miss Atlantic Wrestling vs Brooke Tyler & Selina Svelte (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer) After their big win and apparent chemistry on display at last month's Headstrong show, Tyler and Svelte teamed up once again for the opening match here, with "Ice Cold" Claire Winters filling in as Miss Atlantic Wrestling's partner. As the more experienced of all four, Tyler led her technically-oriented team to victory over their opponents, focusing mainly on the inexperienced and injured Miss Atlantic Wrestling. This onslaught ended up taking the masked technician out of the equation and Winters had to essentially fight a handicap match, an uphill battle she just couldn't hope to win and eventually had to tap out to the excruciating Brooke Breaker. Winners: Brooke Tyler & Selina Svelte, by submission After the match, the winners continued to beat down their opponents and Tyler even got on the mic to brag about tapping out a former Piledriver Women's champion, which according to her is proof she should be champion. Tyler's words brought out the reigning Piledriver Women's champion, "American Woman" Lora Washington, who put things in perspective: yes, Tyler did just tap out a former champion and yes, she's one hell of a competitor, but she came up short again and again when faced with the current champion, so why keep beating on a dead horse? Tyler had to agree, but said that's only made it a life-or-death situation: all she asks for is one last chance. If she can't beat Washington for the title, she'll leave Piledriver Wrestling! Backstage, Julius Moore was interviewed about his winning streak and big performance against "Killer" Carl Bernard at Headstrong. Moore put himself and Bernard over as a tough opponent, but said he now wants to test himself against bigger and badder opponents, calling out none other than "The Monster" Annihilus and requesting a match against him! Robbie Wright & Double Diaz vs Cali Slick, Reaper & Xavi Ferrera This six man tag match was all about storyline crossover and giving fans a preview of what they can expect down the line from all six men in their upcoming matches. James Diaz started the match against the Piledriver champion, catching Slick by surprise with his sheer aggression and intensity. James took a moment too much to roar in rage while Slick was down though and that created an opening for Reaper to get the tag and take the fight to the young blue chipper as the ring shook with the weight of these two massive men beating on each other. The opportunistic Ferrera came in to hit a couple of moves and get a two count, but his arrogance soon took over and he shoved James Diaz to his team's corner, challenging either man to tag themselves in. Logan was the one who did, the moment rekindling memories of his long rivalry with Ferrera. Xavi wasn't into re-living it though and made a cowardly retreat as he tagged Slick back in. Current and former champion squared off in a big sequence of moves until Ferrera decided to steal the spotlight: blind-tagging himself in, he hopped on the top rope and flew across the ring to hit Wright with a big coast to coast dropkick that sent him flying to the floor. That's where the match fell apart and turned into a free-for-all brawl with everyone fighting everyone and referee Alvin Lavin unable to restore order. The fight quickly spilled out of the ring and all six men got so caught up in it, the match had to be thrown due to a double countout. Result: Draw, due to a double countout As the ring was getting cleared and prepared for the main event, a short video aired to hype up the scheduled Piledriver Tag Team titles match between challengers The Mid Atlantic Express and defending champions, Riley McManus and Quentrel Garner. COTT World Tag Team titles match w Frantic Ali & Mobstar vs The Good Ol' Boys (with Vinny Cruz) The main event was a match set up during this year's Sam Keith Classic, when CZCW representatives Ali and Mobstar defeated last year's winners The Good Ol' Boys to knock them out of the tournament. Eager to score the equalizer, Cruz's team put their COTT titles on the line for a rematch and that's how this came to be. Now in a featured spot and without the time constraints of a tournament, the two teams were able to better showcase what they're all about as they pushed each other to the limit back and forth for over fifteen minutes in an action-packed and supremely hard-hitting contest. Ali and especially Mobstar were constantly flirting with disqualification as the match went on and they tapped into their hardcore ways to secure victory, bending the rules but never breaking them, at least not in full view of the ref. This slow but building lack of focus to the actual wrestling ended up costing them the match altogether and the Good Ol' Boys finally got revenge when they hit Frantic Ali with the Iowa Harvest for the big pin. Winners: The Good Ol' Boys, by pinfall The Good Ol' Boys make defence number 1 of their COTT World Tag Team titles Vinny Cruz was quick to get in the ring and celebrate his team's victory, even taking the time to get on the mic and cut a promo, warning The Southern Stars that they'd be the next to fall. Yuko Okui: We're just one month away from the Joshi Royalty Summit and tonight will indeed be a proving ground for competitors looking to make it to WINNOW's biggest show of the year! Hiranuma Makoto: Some big matches scheduled for tonight, including Joanne Rodriguez making her first defense of the WINNOW Rising Champion title against "Strong Style" Sato and our huge main event, the Hunter-Killers against the Missouri Bruisers for the WINNOW Duet titles! Team Endorphine vs Chitose Ariwara & Thea Davis Big match for the young lioness Emiko Miyoshi as she got to wrestle two high caliber opponents, including the WINNOW Grand Champion Chitose Ariwara. Miyoshi showed plenty of fire in the ring and her amazing chemistry with veteran Jaguar Endo made this match way more competitive than it may have seemed on paper, but ultimately the odd but dangerous pairing of Ariwara and Davis came out on top as the arrogant gaijin scored the pin over the rookie. Winners: Chitose Ariwara & Thea Davis Finish: Flying Elbow Drop WINNOW Rising Champion title match Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez © vs Eri "Strong Style" Sato Early candidate for match of the night, this show stealing title clash encapsulated the very spirit of WINNOW as the two competitors wrestled each other in an exciting and fast paced match. This was a case of the hard hitting up and comer Sato trying to prove herself against the seasoned all-rounder veteran that is Rodriguez and indeed it was a match that felt like it could end either way. Sato's intensity had her in control for a good part of the match as she blended stiff strikes with hard hitting suplexes that showcased her technical skill, but Rodriguez eventually made her big comeback and used her athleticism to hit some big aerial moves before connecting with her J-Rocker finisher to win this hard fought contest and make her first title defense. Winner: Joanne Rodriguez (Defenses: 1) Finish: J-Rocker [Face Crusher] off the top rope After match was over, Joanne Rodriguez walked over and offered her hand as a sign of respect and recognition to Sato for putting up a great fight. Hesitant at first, Sato eventually shook J-Ro's hand and the two competitors stood in the ring as fans cheered them both for their efforts. Romi Yamato & Ginko Kuroda vs Rei Chikanatsu & Sakura Sada Romi Yamato continued her string of excellent in-ring performances, this time alongside former WINNOW Rising Champion Ginko Kuroda. Their opponents were the reigning WINNOW Pure Heart champion Rei Chikanatsu and one third of the former GDR Trios champions in Sakura Sada. Though Yamato was by far the best wrestler out of these four, her timing with Kuroda was all over the place and this hindered them both more than once, allowing the high flying pairing of Chikanatsu and Sada to take control of the match. The big finish saw Sada climb up to the top for her finisher, only for Kuroda to come alive and hop on the second rope to catch her and deliver a devastating Dragon Suplex off the top for the pin. Winners: Romi Yamato & Ginko Kuroda Finish: Dragon Suplex WINNOW Duet titles match Hunter-Killers © vs The Missouri Bruisers A highly anticipated bout between two established tag teams with very different styles, the main event was a real slow burner of a match that allowed all four wrestlers to shine as it built up to the big finish. Connie Morris looked a lot more comfortable teaming up with her long time partner in Gorgon as opposed to her former partner (and WINNOW Duet co-champion) Deborah Young, their classic big bruiser team bringing the big slams and hard hits that made life difficult for the defending champions. Dragon Assassin's precise martial arts kicks were well placed, but lacked the power in comparison to do as much damage as the gaijin challengers were able to do with a single hit. Assassin really took a beating for more than six minutes, but despite the Missouri Bruisers' best effors, she still kicked out of pin attempts and eventually managed to hit a big legsweep/moonsault combo on Morris that had them both reeling on the mat. The dramatic stalemate was eventually broken up by double tags and Huntress Makiko came in to dodge a couple of wild lariats from Gorgon before taking her on a ride with a series of suplexes. Though smaller, Makiko had the technical prowess to use leverage in her favor and throw the larger Gorgon around but she lacked the power to keep her down in the subsequent pin attempt. Dazed, Gorgon tagged in her partner and Morris entered the ring with a headfull of steam until Makiko shut her down with a Makiko Clutch. Though she didn't tap, Morris was reeling and after Makiko spiked her with a DDT, the cover was made and Dragon Assassin walked the rope to cross the ring and catch Gorgon with a spectacular flying head kick that prevented her from breaking up the cover. Winners: Hunter-Killers (Defenses: 1) Finish: Spike DDT After their victory, Hunter-Killers got on the mic for the show wrap-up promo, in which they bragged about themselves and the big bad bruiser challenger duo they defeated, calling themselves the undisputed top of the WINNOW Tag Team division. They then riled up the fans to give a big cheer for everyone who gave their everything in the ring, ending the night on a high note. Show Rating: </div>
