One of the better WWE PPVs of recent memory. That crowd was awesome too. The "Si Si Si" chant when Del Rio was hitting people with the ladder was just hilarious. </p><p> </p><p> My only real disappointment was that Styles didn't get a clean win (which i figured he wouldn't anyways), and that Rollins didn't retain when Ambrose cashed in. I bet we get the Shield Triple threat match at Battleground instead of Summerslam. My thoughts anyways.</p>

Just finished watching the show and it was awesome.

Cole was able to call the Falcon Arrow in the main event, but completely missed Apollo's finish with that "Crews-ifix"

<strong>Fatal Fourway Tag</strong> - Fun but super botchy match. I hope Balor debuts to help Gun & Gallows beat The New Day.</p><p>

<strong>Corbin vs Ziggler</strong> - Didn't watch it. Should have been on the Kickoff Show.</p><p>

<strong>Charlotte & Dana vs Becky & Natalya</strong> - OK match but they're just stalling until Sasha or Paige go after the title. Natalya's heel turn could be interesting.</p><p>

<strong>Sheamus vs Crews</strong> - Solid match. Sheamus is the right guy to put over Crews.</p><p>

<strong>Styles vs Cena</strong> - Great match. Didn't mind the ending. Styles won but Cena has cause for a rematch.</p><p>

<strong>MITB Ladder</strong> - Great match.</p><p>

<strong>Rusev vs Titus</strong> - OK match.</p><p>

<strong>Rollins vs Reigns</strong> - Great match except when they repeated the ref bump. I like the way they booked Reigns as the dominant monster and Rollins as the underdog even though it doesn't match their alignments. And just when I thought it would be a predictable ending Rollins wins and Ambrose cashes in! My only concern is that the triple threat will at Battleground not SummerSlam because of the brand split.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Verdict:</span></strong> Solid PPV. The big 3 matches delivered but the rest were TV quality.</p>

<p>I think last night highlighted exactly why they are going with the brand split.</p><p> </p><p>

When they first announced it I thought it was a bad idea because of the lack of stars and roster depth. But last night has turned me. The split will force them to develop more stars and have engaging storylines further down the card. Eventually the 8 matches on PPV will all be of acceptable quality because of the interest created on TV leading up. Half of the matches last night were booked as throwaway (TV quality) because there was absolutely no story to accompany it.</p><p> </p><p>

It's not the indies. You can't just throw two randomers in the ring and expect the crowd to get involved. WWE know that. That's why they put all their eggs in three baskets last night and realise the brand split is needed to get us interested again in the likes of Ziggler and Rusev.</p><p> </p><p>

Some short term pain coming definitely. But long term gain hopefully.</p>

<p>Couple of weird finishes last night.</p><p> </p><p>

In the fourway tag match, Gallows stood in the ring, not breaking up the Big E/Kingston finish, as if he wasn't supposed to be there and didn't know what to do. Big E just stared back at him while delivering the move, which was really odd.</p><p> </p><p>

And Rollins/Reigns - awesome turning the spear into a pedigree, but then when Reigns kicked out, they just waited 15 seconds, did another Pedigree and finish. Bit odd again.</p><p> </p><p>

Good show though, if predictable (the main event was the only match where the most likely outcome didn't happen). Clear setup for the Shield threeway, but I'd be surprised if Ambrose didn't retain - they often put a title on the 'least likely' of a multiman match and have the others stop each other winning, leading to a retention. See Miz recently, retaining in a bunch of similar matches.</p><p> </p><p>

Not sure why some say Ambrose doesn't deserve this. He's been good in-ring and on mic all year and gets tremendous reactions. His only low point this year was the Lesnar match but that was more of a booking issue. His ovation last night told a story.</p><p> </p><p>

On Reigns, if they don't use this story to turn him heel then they won't for a long time - it is the perfect chance. I doubt it'll happen quickly, initlally you'll have Ambrose as the face, Rollins the heel and Reigns in between, but if Ambrose retains I could see Reigns 'getting frustrated' and turning on him, perhaps while Rollins heads back in the Lesnar direction. Story wise it makes a lot of sense, with Reigns getting jealous that his sidekick has surpassed him.</p>

Enjoyed MITB, the MITB match was pretty cool(Next year Kevin), the potential Shield threeway will be cool and hopefully WWE uses Styles wisely after this and he doesn't fizzle out. One gripe I have is with the women, I hate to see how poorly represented this division is now, Ntayla Vs. Becky, I'm okay with that, but are the WWE gonna implement Sasha or Paige anywhere near Charlotte because her reign as champ hasn't been the most spectacular.

Because Ambrose is a good wrestler (On par with Rollins, better than Reigns), and on the microphone.... lets not get started on that. But let me be clear, he has been screwed over more than Trojan. I mean let face it, most fueds that he has been in the last 2 year, more time than not, he has been on the LOSING side. Dont believe me? Lets see Rollins(3 times), Wyatt, Lesnar, and of course... Reigns. </p><p> </p><p>

Did he complain? Nope, he just did the job and you know what... he deserved the title... finally.</p>

The Club vs Enzo & Cass vs New Day vs Vaudevillains- Enjoyable trainwreck opener. Big Cass being late at the end made Gallows look like a doofus, but still enjoyable.

 

Corbin vs Ziggler- The entire match was me yelling that it's Biker Bo Dallas vs Shawn Michaels. Not bad though, entertaining enough for an undercard match.

 

Charlotte and Dana Brooke vs Nattie and Becky- Dana Brooke is literally the worst. She's my least favorite person in the entire company. She tries far too hard and screams phony. This match was botch city and just awkward all around. The best part of it was Nattie turning on Becky.

 

Apollo Crews vs Sheamus- Sheamus is boring, Apollo winning was the right call.

 

AJ Styles vs Cena- Favorite match of the night. AJ is the best performer in the world easily. Everything he does looks smooth.

 

MITB match- Fun trainwreck of a match. I thought Zayn legit killed Owens with the Michinoku Driver onto the ladder. Ambrose winning was ruined for me by the Network messing up. I started the show late and even though we clicked "Watch from Beginning" it jumped to Ambrose winning live. Still, I'm happy with the result.

 

Rusev vs Titus- What on earth did these two guys do to make each other so mad? They beat the tar out of each other. So many stiff shots. It was fun though. Rusev rules.

 

Rollins vs Reigns- Great main event. The people I was with popped big for Rollins winning and then even louder Ambrose. With the Cavs winning and Ambrose winning, it was a good night for Ohio.

Also, as someone who has never seen New Japan, can someone explain the appeal of Gallows and Anderson because I don't get it</p><p> </p><p>

Dolph Ziggler vs Baron Corbin - Is it over yet? Dolph needs a heel turn and Corbin needs to get off my screen</p><p> </p><p>

Divas tag match - As soon as i saw Dana Brookes baps were covered, i wasn't interested</p><p> </p><p>

Apollo Crews vs Sheamus - Ehh...the right guy won though</p><p> </p><p>

Aj Styles vs Cena - Awesome match except for Cena blatantly calling spots...he should probably work on that. Would've been nice to see a clean finish but im ok with the intereference</p><p> </p><p>

MITB - Great match. A highlight was Cesaro jumping from the ladder to the ropes for his springboard Euro Uppercut. That was amazing</p><p> </p><p>

Rusev vs Titus - Ehh. While I'm glad they didn't I am surprised they didn't go with the feel good Titus win on fathers day</p><p> </p><p>

Rollins vs Reigns - This match should prove the people who think Reigns can't wrestle wrong. This was an excellent match and I was really surprised they let Rollins win clean but wasn't as surprised that Ambrose cashed in. Was a really cool moment though</p>

<p>Raw was solid. I like all 3 former Shield members but Ambrose is already the most interesting WWE Champ in a long time.</p><p> </p><p>
