I'm like that. I love watching Rey Mysterio, but not when he's picking up wins against guys like Batista, Kane, Big Show, etc consistently. He's a great cruiserweight, and he should fight similar people. Wrestling is fake, sure, but I still prefer when they try to make it just a bit believeable.

The "undersized" superstars should be kept to a minimum. That said, they shouldn't totally be ruled out either. There ARE real life examples of athletes who would typically be considered "too small" that, thanks to outstanding talent, have overcome the size obstacle. Off the top of my head, Muggsy Bogues was a very successful player in the NBA at a very lowly 5'3", Doug Flutie as a QB in the NFL at 5'10", and more recently with Wes Welker, who I'd argue is one of the top 3 WRs in the NFL today, at just 5'9".

THAT said, it should be a rarety in wrestling as well (much to the disdain of smart marks everywhere). Rey Mysterio's talent SHOULD carry him close to the top, but victories over the guys a foot taller than him should be rare and, well, major events.

And THAT said, never forget that people LIKE to cheer for the underdog and want to believe the old saying "it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the fight in the dog". Heck, during my football days that was basically my motto (I stand roughly 5'7", and even when I pack on a solid amount of muscle I've never breached 160lbs!).

So to summarize... typically, yes, cruiserweights should feud with other cruiserweights/people only sorta larger than them, but there NEEDS to be times for the little guy to have a legitimate, competitive feud/matches with bigger workers and there NEEDS to be times the little guy comes out on top. It is realistic, so long as it isn't overly common.

The exception being Chris Jericho: I don't care if he's well under six feet tall (especially without his "moon boots"), he's far, far, far too awesome, and rightfully deserves a spot in the Main Event so long as he wants it.

Wrestling is fake???Really???You mean...Ric Flair didn't really pick up those 20ish women when he was in Evolution? Lilian Garcia didn't actually wanted that the big pile of **** aka Viscera married her? Rey Mysterio only wins big guys because the matches are set up? Worst...the matches are set up!? You mean...that the boogeyman didn't really eat worms all the time? Hulk Hogan is not the best of all time??? I'm shocked!!! My world will never be the same again!!! :D:D:D

Actually, those were real worms Boogeyman had in his mouth and he did eat a couple.

Wow, I don't know where to begin with that comment. I don't want to deal with it too much so I'll only address one thing.

I'm not impressed by someone just because their genes made them <fill in blank> Shelton Benjamin is a great wrestler, and I will not debate you on that. Brock Lesnar was decent, just looked odd in the ring at times. I like people who entertain me. This is what you don't get. John Cena does not entertain me.. which is sad, I love poop jokes, he just ain't funny.

I would rather watch the likes of Bryan Danielson, Christopher Daniels, Davey Richards, and the such.

Look I think you're the one not getting something. I get what you like: I absolutely do. Like who you want. Nothing I'm saying is about personal taste, it's about the ability to make money for the promoter, whoever they may be.

If you think Brock Lesnar wouldn't have been pushed absolutely ANYWHERE above Shelton Benjamin, then you're not getting what I've been saying over and over. I'll say it again: it's not about personal taste: it's about drawing power. If we're going to talk about personal taste, my favorite worker was Eddie Guerrero. But despite his ridiculous talent, his run as a main event talent was exceedingly brief, and didn't happen at all until he got to that company that loves bodybuilders. Why do you think that is?

Say I'ma casual viewer. I like buying merchandise and giving the WWE lot's of ratings and money. But firstly to get hooked, I need to like that show.

What? Some 5ft 7inch people are being pushed as the best in the world? This is too unbelievable for a sport, even one I know is fake.

Don't say that's fictional because I know at least eight people who act that way.

Yes, this is my point. I knew casual fans that act as though the worst thing WCW ever did was put Rey Mysterio over Kevin Nash. And again, the "Vince loves bodybuilders" is a chicken/egg thing because Vince loves bodybuilders because they can make him more money. WCW at its peak had Ric Flair, Roddy Piper and Randy Savage, three guys under six feet tall who were undeniably stars, but it's not a coincidence that they also had Sting, Luger, Nash, the Giant, Hogan, etc. in the rest of their main event scene. It's not because Bischoff loves bodybuilders, too. Or Ted Turner. Or Jane Fonda. Well, maybe. ;)

This is where watching with marks is so helpful. They'll say things like "whoah that guy's ripped" when they see Bobby Lashley or "whoah, that guy is old" when they see Finlay. And since believe it or not the overwhelming majority of wrestling fans think this way, Bobby Lashley main evented pay per views despite being an absolutely terrible wrestler compared to a guy like Finlay.

I think it's a shame WWE doesn't do more to find something for guys that are under-sized that actually could draw: right now they have Rey Mysterio pretty much exclusively, but considering the size of WWE's Latino audience in the southwest, they could probably stand to have another Hispanic babyface, especially on Smackdown. Raw has Bourne, and the usually intelligent smarks on EWB whine when he is used to put over Sheamus or Swagger or whoever, but surprisingly enough no one is moon pushing a "little guy" that can't cut a promo.

It's true though fans like to cheer for the underdog: everybody loves the Rocky story, where he comes in and fights a good fight. But I think we can all agree Rocky stopped having the same impact the minute Sly shows up as World Champion. By definition, he's not really an underdog any more. As soon as James J. Braddock beats Max Baer, he's not "Cinderella Man" any more, he's just one of the worst world champs ever who got the crap beaten out of him his first major title defense (although to be fair it was against Joe Louis).

Mark Henry should be released

Mark Henry was arrested and issued an "adult caution" following an incident that occurred last weekend at The Hilton in Belfast, Ireland.

"I was trying to get as many signatures as possible on the card and my collectors book," WWE fan James McClay told the Derry Journal. "Mark Henry was abusive and ignorant but I got his signature and walked away. Suddenly he threw a drink around me from behind."

"I turned around to see him stand and square up to me, suddenly John Cena and Randy Orton grabbed his arms and held him back. I honestly thought I was in one of the plot lines back stage. I felt like I was watching this happen to someone else. Suddenly Chavo Guerrero piped up egging Mark Henry on, that really annoyed me as I am a fan of his. I thought this is going to get really bad as all these wrestlers were on their feet."

According to McClay, Henry was offering to fight: "He kept saying 'Where I'm from you do something when someone throws a drink around you.' "He kept calling me a 'little punk bitch.'"

Here is the full report below:

It was a case of wrong place - wrong time for one Inishowen man last weekend as he suddenly found himself in a confrontation with WWE behemoth Mark Henry, who, he claims, threw a drink over him before verbally assaulting him.

The Journal has had it confirmed that the World Wrestling Extreme star was arrested and given an adult caution following the fracas. Fahan's James McClay found himself staring down Henry, nicknamed The World's Strongest Man, and his WWE buddies.

James, a life long wrestling devotee, attended the event at The Odyssey on Sunday with his fiancee, Tanya.

They even booked the same hotel as the stars of the ring. Finding himself sat at The Hilton Hotel bar among the stars of the WWE rota he asked several of them to sign a birthday card for his ten year old son Jack.

Suddenly WWE security appeared and escorted youth worker, James out of the bar.

"The wrestlers were all genuinely nice people Jamie Noble, Randy Orton, John Cena, Ted DiBiase, Hornswoggle, William Regal, Seamus and even Mark Henry signed the card but then it all kicked off and I was left in shock. It ruined the weekend to be honest, I was left humiliated afterward. He did this soaking me and my fiancee and our friend. The birthday card is all covered in drink also."

James who travelled to see Wrestlemania in Texas last year plans to get married in March at Wrestlemania 27 in Atlanta, Georgia next year.

"I don't mind going there but I don't think I'll go back to Belfast - what if he comes into the hotel bar again?"

The PSNI confirmed that one male was given an adult caution following an incident in the Hotel Bar.

That story seems very one-sided. Also what does an "adult caution" mean?

I'm not exactly sure about this whole situation with Mark Henry. I've heard that he is one of the nicest guys in the locker room, so if he really did do that, then why would he do something like that for no reason? It just doesn't add up to me.

It looks that way. He wouldn't get an adult caution if he didn't admitted the facts.

The reaction probably happened with the beer and all but what set him off is not mentioned and for Henry to go off something must have been said or done. Also one beer soaking himself his friend and girlfriend and the card. That must have been more then a half a liter beer.

Does he have any formal fighting experiance at all? Brock was a NCCA wrestling champion two times was it? World Champion once? Which if I"m right is the world cup of NCCA wrestling IE the tournament they have when its an off year for the olympics I might be completely wrong.

Anyway Lashley as well was a top notch wrestler.

There have been alot of rumours surrounding the guy in the spoilers and his future in the company. Potential spoiler: Batista apparently was removed from the lead role in a WWE films movie in favour of Triple H, rumour has it that WWE made the decision because they were unsure of his future in the company. Batista has also been missing from the list of superstars on the cards for future PPV promotions and is nearing the end of his contract.

Spoiler response above:

Not that I'm doubting a Sheamus victory(banking on him to win if anything) but I don't really see why Triple H doing that would be ruled out either. While H is in a upper-tier level so to speak, he could just as well have the world of time devoted to do things like this, as trivial as it may get. /shrug I dunno, I don't really see that factor into a foregone conclusion.

As for the Henry situation, "hearing that he's one of the nicest guys in the locker-room" shouldn't be indicative of anything, maybe he does have a temper. Even the guy with a smile can be a real beyotch when he wants to be, as well as the guy with a cold stare can be proven a closet gentleman or something. And either way, none of us know the guy personally to begin with.

(remembers that Family Guy episode where the jerk employee working alongside Peter is revealed donating to charity or some stuff)

Not that I know of. He's certainly never competed in any professional combat sport, which is the main thing.

Brock and Lashley were both high level wrestlers, Lesnar moreso than Lashley.

Henry has obviously admitted a wrong, but this still doesn't mean the whole story has come out. He could have reacted badly to anything, lost his rag, and then accepted that he went too far. However, I know there are certain things that I would lose my rag with to the extent that I deserved a caution, and I'd probably stand by my actions.

Not exactly cause to shout for Mark Henry's sacking.
