If Styles is gone, the promotion might see some hard days. Sure, he wasn't all that, but he was one of the early mainstays. That has a lot of value in an entertainment promotion.

Could've changed his name, though. AJ Styles looks like it was made up by a 10 year old. And it probably was.

For a guy that hasn't been in the "big time" (if TNA is the big time) thats a big deal. I'm not impressed with Magnus but atleast he's something new. The X division is a bit sad that we have Chris Sabin back in the X Division. He's been in that division for 12 years now off and on and Austin Aries who is a former long reigning world champion. I'm baffled on why they would bring a 40+ MVP who hasn't worked in the United States on going on a half a decade. So yeah some good some bad but come on after 12 years we are still doing "omgz who's in charge of TNA and faction warz" atleast give us something new to complain about <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Tend to agree with a lot of this. Peeking in the thread here from time to time I've seen how prevalent the stable wars are and some of the why and wherefores around those past battles did annoy me and make me glad I wasn't watching first hand at those times. I'll be honest. If I weren't just peeking back in after a long layoff, I probably wouldn't have much interest in this latest storyline either. But since I'm just getting my feet wet again and getting regrounded in the current TNA landscape I'm willing to roll with it because it will help me get there quicker. They've just wrapped stuff up or at least appeared to and are starting new material. So I feel like I'm getting in at a good time.</p><p> </p><p> Ethan Carter I'm definitely with you on. The guy may have the power of nepotism on his side. But like Jeff Jarrett or the Von Erichs before him, it looks like he has enough legit talent that it's reasonable that he has the role he does. If one were a mark and only followed TNA, one could easily suggest they wouldn't hire him purely for nepotism and avoid sounding stupid for believing that. I look forward to seeing more EC3 and seeing if that first impression holds.</p><p> </p><p> I also think I'm with you on Magnus. When I've watched TNA consistently in the past, he was always an also-ran. He was good and all but he never struck me as a guy who should have the top belt. Of course, I've also never really believed in James Storm as a single and had to remind myself "seniority" when he was vying for number 1 contender. So maybe I'm overly critical of their talent at times.</p><p> </p><p> Sabin and Aries in the X division felt comfortable so I had no complaints there. But I have heard about both men's title reigns and peeked in briefly during Aries' run. So I can also certainly see the point in being disappointed that they are "slumming." But Shelley always felt like the personality of the team. Seeing Sabin get the love and until last week Velvet as he has feels wrong to me. Although I will say my gut reaction to him being X division champ was "Hey, could be worse. Could be Kazarian." So glad they have Kazarian somewhat hidden in a tag team with the superior Christopher Daniels. </p><p> </p><p> And MVP? I've always liked the guy when I've seen him. So if TNA picks him up, I'll be happy to see him on my TV again. It does feel like he could be a bit wedged in based on the mental image the last couple weeks have created of the TNA landscape. But that sense could change depending on how the investor storyline shakes out.</p>

It's lost all meaning and once you start pushing guys like Chris Sabin and Austin Aries into World Championship contention and then dropping them back into the X Division, it just doesn't work. I think they're heading in the right direction now but it's just a question of whether they can get to where they're going quick enough to save themselves as far as I'm concerned.</p>

I've never seen a single episode of NXT. It's just too forgettable. And when I have nibbled at WWE in recent times, they haven't been able to get me to sit still for a full episode. Even though I'd really like to. So I had no reason to not take the gimmick at its word.</p>

<p>TNA Investor was revealed in Glascow. Spoiler below.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FFFFFF;">It was MVP, he came out in a suit with the Wolves or whatever they were called. No Jarrett, no Jarrett, Styles, Sting leading some sort of revultion. Just some regular wrestler while TNA does another clashing authorities angle. Never change TNA, never chang. </span></p>

Its not that at all because if they would have brought in those guys then that means they didn't really leave so they aren't bringing them back.

You're interested to see how it goes? So then you're interested to see how they run their clashing authority angle? You know since they haven't ran one since oh wait Aces and 8's? Or are you interested in seeing faction vs. faction for control of TNA that we haven't seen since.....Aces and 8's? So yeah its been a month and 3/4's since they ran this angle. You're right shame on me for saying TNA can't win when they're running fresh angles like this. I apologize for being overly harsh to TNA.

Why does TNA keep giving out their money to pay guys who don't draw? MVP was a glorified midcarder who's best period in his career was feuding with Chris Benoit nearly 7 years ago. You can't tell me that any American fan's perception of him is going to change because he had success in NJPW.

I'll take a new take on an old angle that involves new talent, like EC3, Magnus, Wolves, Spud and the other talent on the way. (Shanna, Noar, Santana Garrett etc).

Rather that than old storylines involving OLD talent like WWE is offering. Orton vs Batista...didn't care 6 years ago...don't care now.

I'm not crazy about the "mystery investor" but I mean, what was to be expected? I was thinking it would be something lame like Tito or Rampage or something.

I do like that TNA is aiming in a direction with younger talent and using their own guys as the established talent. They would do well to get AJ back though ASAP. Pay him what he's worth and bring him in. He means nothing to WWE but for TNA he's their ace-in-the-hole. Guy always produced solid matches, solid promos, and the right crowd reactions. He got heel heat when needed and babyface love when asked. I thought the build with him against Aces n Eights was pretty damn awesome. If TNA needs anything to grow moving forward, a little consistency would be at the top of the list in my opinion and to me AJ isn't the most dynamic and charismatic guy in the business but he IS very consistent.

You say "pay AJ what he's worth" but I hear that's the problem. The revenue AJ brings in, the actual monetary figure gained for having him on the roster, isnt all that much. Though little fault of his own, he doesn't sell a massive amount of tickets and merchandise and his name means nothing to advertisers. Dont get me wrong, TNA would make more money with him on the roster, but it would cost them more than that to pay AJ the good living he deserves.

I'm back home from the tapings too. I realy enjoyed it, but we were in a section on the floor that was pretty vocal. Won't post spoilers until at least the weekend, but it was good fun. I'm enjoying TNA creatively just now... they've got a lot of new blood going on, lots of new personalities and they've ditched most of the old veteran talent that wasn't doing very much. For the first time in a while there are people I want to see more of like EC3, Spud (his mannerisms are awesome), Magnus, Gunner, the Wolves, the new investor and the BroMans. There are parts of the show I don't like, there are parts I love... and in general, I'm looking forward to seeing more TNA in future. Certainly a lot more than I am the WWE, which hasn't been a regular part of my viewing since they seemed to want to commit career genocide on any character I liked NOT called Daniel Bryan.

So yeah, TNA is fun. A few nasty technical difficulties with the video screen that will probably go un-noticed on TV but held up the show a bit but that's always a problem with live shows. The second show taping was cut a bit short because of that I think, so we didn't get much in the way of vignettes for that. Which is fine, cos I was happy to see the wrestling anyways. :)

Our President has excellent foreign policy and after 5 years in office he's rehabbed our image around the globe? <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>Great show btw and I love that MVP is the investor, it plays with the "Highest paid smackdown wrestler" gimmick he had in WWE, so he saved his money well I guess haha. </p><p> </p><p>

I never watch indy wrestling so this is the first time I have seen The Wolves and I have always heard "Oh they can wrestle but they're boring." But from what I have seen the last three weeks they have a great gimmick/charisma to them.</p><p> </p><p>

I also love Samuel Shaw, he's gimmick is just chilling, Overall TNA has been great lately best wrestling for either company in a while imo.</p>
