Season One, Week Eleven

August 13, 2010

He walked into the arena, just like he had the last ten weeks. And as usual, he wasn't seen by anyone; he wasn't a big name, why would people pay attention to him?

Forcing the depression out, he walked into what was labeled as his locker room, and had to stop at the sight that greeted him. This wasn't a locker room, it was a damn broom closet that he couldn't even fit into! How the hell was he supposed to do anything in that?

A moment later, he was shoved up against the too-small doorjamb as another of the wrestlers passed by. "You have a locker room, get your obese @$$ in there!" The derisive laughter of Johnny Triumph echoed back down the hallway as he proceeded to his own locker room.

Sighing, the big man slammed the door shut. And unbidden, a crimson haze clouded his vision, driving his anger ever higher.

If he couldn't earn respect, he would beat it out of someone. He was already out of the playoff hunt. It didn't matter if he won or not.

Sometimes, pride was just a little more important.

The night sky is the perfect backdrop as the requisite pyro goes off to start the eleventh show of the season. A standing-room-only crowd of 12,111 erupt in cheers as the camera cuts to ringside.

Bob Sinclair: Glasgow's Firhill Stadium is jam-packed tonight, and the atmosphere is electric as we edge ever closer to the playoffs! Good evening, everyone, and welcome to The League! As always, Bob Sinclair and Frankie Garnett at ringside, and we're starting tonight's show off with one of the matches that has serious playoff implications.

Frankie Garnett: People are thinking this may be Match of the Night; I'd be inclined to agree with them. Both of these men have a "do not back down" mentality to their ring approach, and I cannot wait to get it started!

Bob Sinclair: Then wait no more, Frankie. Let's go to Amelia Williams, and get the show underway!

Billy Idol's "Shock to the System" hits as the crowd erupts in cheers.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing 278 pounds...Nuclear Templeton!

Bob Sinclair: Coming in to tonight, Templeton is the wild card entrant to the playoffs. He can ill afford a loss here.

Frankie Garnett: What a match to start us off tonight, Bob!

Bob Sinclair: You're not kidding, Frankie. The next match will be hard-pressed to follow this one, but it's got a different kind of drama. It falls to Diamond to single-handedly keep the entire Gamma Division alive in the hunt; a loss here and she's out of the divisional title hunt, as well as the loser of the Triumph-Arrows match later on. A win and she's still in it.

Frankie Garnett: The only help Diamond has is that she's on her home turf, where Sean isn't as big of a name. If there was ever a time where she needed the help, this would be it.

Bob Sinclair: Let's find out what happens. Amelia, take it away!

Bob Sinclair: A win from Sean here gives him the tie-breaker over Breaker for the number one spot in the rankings thanks to what would be a 4-1 divisional record.

Frankie Garnett: Right now, I think he's more interested in making sure no one can take his division from him, Bob.

"Oh, it's time to rock and roll..."

The opening lyric is enough to send the crowd into a cheering frenzy, as the lone woman in The League walks out with a confident smirk on her face.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Aberdeen, Scotland, weighing 132 pounds...Diamond!

Bob Sinclair: This crowd is solidly behind Diamond tonight, Frankie!

Frankie Garnett: I'm sorry, but the guy has no chance. Not against tonight's opponent.

"Rule, Britannia!" hits the airwaves next, as the crowd gets to their feet and cheers quite loudly...though not without a smattering of jeers from the more patriotic Scots in attendance.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from the United Kingdom, weighing 243 pounds...The British Warrior!

Bob Sinclair: Warrior takes a one-match lead in the Alpha Division with that win, while Raaize is now mathematically eliminated from the Beta Division race. He still has a chance with the wild card—

Frankie Garnett: Not much of one. He needs some serious help to make it; he's all but eliminated as it is, Bob.

GAMMA DIVISION: Johnny Triumph (4-6) vs. Shawn Arrows (4-6)

Bob Sinclair: Speaking of, the loser of the next match will be in the same boat, despite Diamond's win earlier tonight. The winner moves to two matches out of the Gamma Division lead, the loser drops to three behind with three to go—a scenario that they are not likely going to be able to overcome.

Amelia Williams: Our next bout is scheduled for one fall! Approaching the ring, from Des Moines, Iowa, weighing 228 pounds...Johnny Triumph!

Bob Sinclair: Johnny needs to really entertain the crowd here; a win with a lower entertainment value keeps him behind Diamond for the second-place tie-breaker.

Frankie Garnett: Wait, "entertainment value?"

Bob Sinclair: Fan approval rating.

Frankie Garnett: Ah, that makes sense.

The opening strains of Linkin Park's "Numb" break the silence to announce the entrance of the opponent.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Raleigh, North Carolina, weighing 212 pounds...Shawn Arrows!

Frankie Garnett: I just thought of something, Bob. What the hell is Arrows' finisher, anyway?

Bob Sinclair: The Arrow-Shot DDT, a flapjack/DDT combination. Why?

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, in six minutes and forty seconds...Johnny Triumph!

Bob Sinclair: Triumph moves to one match under .500, and joins Diamond at 5-6 on the year.

FIRST BLOOD: Robbie Maynard (6-4) vs. The Phoenix (2-8)

Bob Sinclair: Another person not likely to take something well would be Nuclear Templeton, especially if Maynard pulls out a win tonight. A Maynard win gives him outright possession of the wild card position with three weeks to go.

Frankie Garnett: He's got Phoenix this week, right?

Bob Sinclair: Yes.

Frankie Garnett: Good. I've been looking forward all week to watching Phoenix get destroyed. New wild card holder coming up! Amelia, let's get it started!

There is a brief pause before the opening chord of "The Instinct" hits, to complete and utter silence from the crowd.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from The End of Nowhere, weighing 367 pounds...The Phoenix!

Frankie Garnett: Explain to me again why we have to deal with this guy?

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of thirty-one minutes and forty seconds...Robbie Maynard!

Bob Sinclair: With that win, Maynard takes over the wild card position, and has a one-match lead over Templeton and the winner of our main event! As for Phoenix, the loss officially eliminates him from both the Alpha Division and the wild card chases.

Frankie Garnett: Bah, who cares about him? He's a loser, let him go. No one really cares.

Bob Sinclair: A win for Nolan keeps him one match behind Maynard for the wild card, and two behind Breaker for the Beta Division lead.

Season One, Week Twelve

August 20, 2010

http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae344/ShadowedFlames/GDS%20League%20Stuff/BeyondRingsideBanner.jpg

Hello once again, League fans! Tori Montgomery here, and now that everyone has had a week away from the rigors of The League, we're back to finish the inaugural season! Three weeks remain until the playoffs, and things are getting all the more exciting as the days count down!

We've got some catching up to do, so let's get started, shall we?

SEASON STANDINGS AFTER WEEK ELEVEN

ALPHA DIVISION

1. The British Warrior (7-4, 2.45 / D match rating)

2. Nuclear Templeton (6-5, 4.27 / C match rating)

3. Maxx Skabb (5-6, 5.18 / C+ match rating)

4. The Phoenix (2-9, 5.09 / C+ match rating)

BETA DIVISION

1. Breaker (8-3, 4.73 / C+ match rating)

2. Robbie Maynard (7-4, 4.64 / C+ match rating)

3. Tarik Nolan (6-5, 3.18 / C- match raing)

4. SGRaaize (4-7, 3.55 / C match rating)

GAMMA DIVISION

1. Sean (7-4, 4.00 / C match rating)

2. Diamond (5-6, 5.82 / B- match rating)

3. Johnny Triumph (5-6, 5.73 / B- match rating)

4. Shawn Arrows (4-7, 4.82 / C+ match rating)

* First tie-breaker is a 1-1 head to head split. Second tie-breaker is also a wash, as both are at a 2-3 divisional record. Match rating breaks the tie, but just barely.

* CLINCH SCENARIO: Sean win + Diamond loss AND Triumph loss would eliminate Diamond and Triumph, and Sean would win the Gamma Division.

THE HUNT FOR SEPTEMBER: THE PLAYOFF CHASE

THE LEADERS...

#1 Seed: Breaker (8-3, 3-1 Beta Division, 4.73 Match Rating)

* A win and Sean's loss catapults Breaker to the lone 8-3 record and the top seed in the playoffs if the season ended today.

* Remaining opponents: Sean (7-4), Hardcore vs. SGRaaize (4-7), Tarik Nolan (6-5)

#2 Seed: Sean (7-4, 3-2 Gamma Division, 4.00 Match Rating)

* Drops a spot, but has a chance this week to be the first to clinch his division.

* Has tie-breaker over #3 Seed due to a head-to-head win in week eight.

* Remaining opponents: Breaker (8-3), The Phoenix (2-9), Diamond (5-6)

#3 Seed: The British Warrior (7-4, 4-0 Alpha Division, 2.45 Match Rating)

* No change for the Warrior, who still finds himself in a tight race with three weeks remaining.

* Remaining opponents: Maxx Skabb (5-6), Shawn Arrows (4-7), Maxx Skabb (5-6)

THE WILD CARD...

Wild Card (#4 Seed): Robbie Maynard (7-4, 3-1 Beta Division, 4.64 Match Rating)

* Maynard jumps back in the top 4 with a win last week, moving up one spot.

* Remaining opponents: Shawn Arrows (4-7), Tarik Nolan (6-5), SGRaaize (4-7)

AND THE FOLLOWERS...

On The Brink: Nuclear Templeton (6-5, 2-2 Alpha Division, 4.27 Match Rating)

* Templeton falls one spot, out of the playoffs, but has the tie-breaker over fellow 6-5 record holder Tarik Nolan due to their week six match in St. Louis. Given his schedule, he could quite easily sneak back into the top four.

* Next opponents: The Phoenix (2-9), Diamond (5-6), The Phoenix (2-9)

On the Brink: Tarik Nolan (6-5, 1-3 Beta Division, 3.18 Match Rating)

* Nolan goes up a spot to #6, but with his abysmal divisional record he could be looking at a tough road ahead.

* Remaining opponents: Diamond (5-6), Robbie Maynard (7-4), Breaker (8-3)

Needs Help: Maxx Skabb (5-6, 2-2 Alpha Division, 5.18 Match Rating)

* Skabb drops one to #7, his divisional record still the tie-breaker. Two matches out of both the Alpha Division lead and the Wild Card, Skabb needs help to have a shot at the playoffs as long as he helps himself in at least two of his last matches.

* Remaining opponents: British Warrior (7-4), Hardcore vs. Johnny Triumph (5-6), British Warrior (7-4)

Needs Help: Diamond (4-6, 2-3 Gamma Division, 5.82 Match Rating)

* Up another spot to #8, she holds the tie-breaker over the #9 position. She's also two out of both races, but her win against Sean this past week has given her new life.

* Remaining opponents: Tarik Nolan (6-5), Nuclear Templeton (6-5), Sean (7-4)

Needs Help: Johnny Triumph (5-6, 2-3 Gamma Division, 5.73 Match Rating)

* Up a spot to #9, Triumph needs a lot of help to make up the deficits he finds himself in.

* Remaining opponents: SGRaaize (4-7), Hardcore vs. Maxx Skabb (5-6), Shawn Arrows (4-7)

Basically Eliminated: SGRaaize (4-7, 1-3 Beta Division, 3.55 Match Rating)

* Out of Beta Division contention, and all but mathematically eliminated from the Wild Card, Raaize needs a miracle to make it from the #10 spot.

* Remaining opponents: Johnny Triumph (4-6), Hardcore vs. Breaker (8-3), Robbie Maynard (7-4)

Basically Eliminated: Shawn Arrows (4-7, 3-2 Gamma Division, 4.82 Match Rating)

* Dropping three spots to #11, Arrows is three matches out of both races with three matches to go. He's all but done for the season.

* Remaining opponents: Robbie Maynard (7-4), British Warrior (7-4), Johnny Triumph (5-6)

Eliminated: The Phoenix (2-9, 0-4 Alpha Division, 5.09 Match Rating)

* The loss last week officially eliminates him mathematically from any sort of playoff hunt.

* Remaining opponents: Nuclear Templeton (6-5), Sean (7-4), Cage vs. Nuclear Templeton (6-5)

BREAKING NEWS

During the bye week, apparently three of the League members approached Commissioner Colt Marshall and requested exhibition matches, whether from pride or just to work out frustration. Instead of granting three matches, Marshall elected to make it a six-man tag match.

Thus, it gives me pleasure to announce that the exhibition match next week in London will be the challenging team of SGRaaize, Shawn Arrows, and The Phoenix facing the team of Johnny Triumph, The British Warrior, and Robbie Maynard. Here's to hoping that the challengers fare better as a team than they do by themselves!

PREDICTION CENTRAL

No change atop the prediction leaderboards, as Miss moon_lit_tears maintains the slimmest of leads possible. Three weeks remain in the regular season, plus the playoffs, so the race is still wide open here.

Here are the season standings after Week Eleven:

1. moon_lit_tears: 40 points

2. SeanMcG: 39 points

3. derek_b: 36 points

(tie) 4. Prophet, Tori Montgomery: 33 points

6. I effin rule: 24 points

7. masterded: 22 points

8. Wrestling Century: 7 points

9. MichiganHero: 6 points

10. Zeel1: 4 points

The O2 Center in London is our home this week, and after a week off, I expect everyone to come out ready for war. Let's see what's on tap this week...

WEEK TWELVE: LONDON, ENGLAND (SOUTH UK)

(Regular match, can be stopped for blood loss, no ref bumps allowed)

ALPHA DIVISION: Nuclear Templeton (6-5, 15%) vs. The Phoenix (2-9, 9%)

Pfft. We all know who's winning this one.

Tori's Prediction: Nuclear Templeton, via pinfall (Armageddon Lariat), 4:00, F

Tarik Nolan (6-5, 15%) vs. Diamond (5-6, 15%)

This should be a good match, though I think Tarik's size is what will lead him to victory.

Tori's Prediction: Tarik Nolan, via pinfall (Regulator), 6:10, D

SGRaaize (4-7, 15%) vs. Johnny Triumph (5-6, 15%)

Triumph should take advantage of a weaker opponent to remain in the hunt.

Tori's Prediction: Johnny Triumph, via submission (Horns of Victory), 12:10, C

Robbie Maynard (7-4, 18%) vs. Shawn Arrows (4-7, 15%)

Maynard continues his hunt to reclaim his Beta Division lead and should destroy Arrows.

Tori's Prediction: Robbie Maynard, via submission (Merseyside Maul), 9:10, C+

ALPHA DIVISION: Maxx Skabb (5-6, 15%) vs. The British Warrior (7-4, 15%)

It's do or die for Maxx here; a loss eliminates him from the divisional race and most likely the wild card as well. I think that'll be inspiration enough.

Tori's Prediction: Maxx Skabb, via pinfall (Lethal Injection), 14:40, B

Breaker (8-3, 15%) vs. Sean (7-4, 15%)

Match of the Night. Think Sean might have an upset in him this week.

Tori's Prediction: Sean, via submission (Modified Figure Four), 22:00, A

Until next time from Lisbon, this is Tori Montgomery...so long from ringside!

WEEK TWELVE: LONDON, ENGLAND (SOUTH UK)

ALPHA DIVISION: Nuclear Templeton (6-5, 15%) vs. The Phoenix (2-9, 9%)

Robbie Maynard (7-4, 18%) vs. Shawn Arrows (4-7, 15%)

ALPHA DIVISION: Maxx Skabb (5-6, 15%) vs. The British Warrior (7-4, 15%)

Breaker (8-3, 15%) vs. Sean (7-4, 15%)

I just wanted to chime in and say that I am enjoying reading along and finding out what's going on in the "League".

Join us! One of us! One of us! :)

And some predictions... I always pick for Nuclear and he's still got a shot at making it to the finals but he really needs to win all his matches and it'll probably still be via a wildcard if he does it. And to think that a few matches ago he was leading on his own!

The bye week had come and gone. The twelve had rested up, with all but one still in the hunt for the postseason. By the end of the night, three more people would be eliminated from the playoffs. But as the show prepared to go on air, no one knew that.

Tonight, the field of eleven gets chopped down to eight. Let's find out who stays alive, shall we?

A deafening cheer erupts from inside the O2 center as the requisite pyro goes off to begin the show. The atmosphere is electric as the anticipation builds to a fever pitch. Only a few seconds pass before we go to the announcers at ringside.

Bob Sinclair: Good evening, everybody, and welcome back to The League! Bob Sinclair here, sitting at ringside as always with Frankie Garnett. Frankie, every match from here on out counts!

Frankie Garnett: No it doesn't, Bob. The six-man tag at the end of the show doesn't count for anything!

Bob Sinclair: ...You know what I meant. We're three weeks away from the end of the season, and after tonight the playoff picture could become a lot clearer!

Frankie Garnett: Bob, how about you just shut up and let's get the show on the road?

ALPHA DIVISION: Nuclear Templeton (6-5) vs. The Phoenix (2-9)

Bob Sinclair: I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I agree with you. Amelia, get us underway!

Billy Idol's "Shock to the System" hits as the crowd erupts in cheers.

Amelia Williams: Ladies and gentlemen, our opening contest is an Alpha Division match scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing 278 pounds...Nuclear Templeton!

Bob Sinclair: Templeton's one match out of the wild card spot held by Robbie Maynard. A win puts the pressure on Maynard to win later on tonight.

Frankie Garnett: Templeton's got this in the bag, Bob. Look at his opponent tonight. It's about as close to a "sure thing" as you're going to get in The League!

There is a brief pause before the opening chord of "The Instinct" hits, to complete and utter silence from the crowd.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from The End of Nowhere, weighing 367 pounds...The Phoenix!

Frankie Garnett: Bow down to the King of Choke, Bob!

Frankie Garnett: Told ya.

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of ten minutes and forty seconds...The British Warrior!

Bob Sinclair: And that officially eliminates Maxx Skabb from the playoffs.

Frankie Garnett: So far, it's been Arrows, Raaize and now Skabb who have joined Phoenix in the hall of shame. Can anyone else be eliminated this week, Bob?

Bob Sinclair: Technically, no. Realistically, Sean can lock up the Gamma Division with a win, but mathematically speaking both Diamond and Triumph would still be in the running.

Frankie Garnett: Well, there's always next week!

Breaker (8-3) vs. Sean (7-4)

Bob Sinclair: I suppose so, Frankie. It's time for our last "official" match of the evening, let's go to Amelia to get the proceedings started!

Amelia Williams: Ladies and gentlemen, this is our featured contest, scheduled for one fall! Coming down the aisle, weighing 251 pounds...Breaker!

Bob Sinclair: Once again, it's simple. A win keeps Breaker in the Beta Division lead; a loss could send him into the wild card depending on how the tie-breakers look.

Frankie Garnett: Without a doubt, this is one of the biggest matches he's faced this season!

<object width="28" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzXzcyZmL_c?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="28" height="25"></object> Black Sabbath's classic "Iron Man" hits the speakers to announce the entrance of the Gamma Division leader.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Charlotte, North Carolina, weighing 230 pounds...Sean!

Bob Sinclair: Sean, quite simply, needs this win in order to maintain his grip on the Gamma Division lead. A loss will put him within striking distance of both Diamond and Triumph.

Frankie Garnett: Given the obstacle in front of him that's named Breaker, he could have a tall task in front of him, Bob!

Frankie Garnett: But...how the heck did it end so fast...?

Bob Sinclair: To recap, folks, while Frankie tries to wrap his head around what just happened: Breaker's lead is still one over Maynard with two to go. Sean's lead has been cut to one over Diamond and Triumph with two to go, and Diamond has tie-breaker over Triumph. The next two weeks are going to be interesting!

Frankie Garnett: But...that fast...how...?

Bob Sinclair: We're going to take a quick timeout here to prepare for our main event, everyone. Stay tuned!

Season One, Week Thirteen

August 27, 2010

http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae344/ShadowedFlames/GDS%20League%20Stuff/BeyondRingsideBanner.jpg

Hello once again, League fans! Tori Montgomery here, and welcome to the homestretch! Two weeks remain in the regular season, and this is what I in particular have been waiting for all season! Nothing quite tops a mad rush for the playoffs, no matter what sport you're looking at, and it looks like we may have a doozy of one here!

No time to kill this week, we have analysis to do!

SEASON STANDINGS AFTER WEEK TWELVE

ALPHA DIVISION

1. The British Warrior (8-4, 2.58 / C- match rating)

2. Nuclear Templeton (6-6, 4.50 / C+ match rating)

3. Maxx Skabb (5-7, 5.08 / C+ match rating)

4. The Phoenix (3-9, 5.25 / C+ match rating)

BETA DIVISION

x-1. Breaker (9-3, 4.33 / C match rating)

2. Robbie Maynard (8-4, 4.75 / C+ match rating)

3. Tarik Nolan (6-6, 3.75 / C match raing)

4. SGRaaize (4-8, 3.25 / C- match rating)

x-Denotes a clinched playoff berth.

GAMMA DIVISION

1. Sean (7-5, 3.67 / C match rating)

2. Diamond (6-6, 6.17 / B- match rating)

3. Johnny Triumph (6-6, 5.25 / C+ match rating)

4. Shawn Arrows (4-8, 4.92 / C+ match rating)

* First tie-breaker is a 1-1 head to head split. Second tie-breaker is also a wash, as both are at a 2-3 divisional record. Match rating breaks the tie.

THE HUNT FOR SEPTEMBER: THE PLAYOFF CHASE

THE LEADERS...

#1 Seed: Breaker (9-3, 3-1 Beta Division, 4.33 Match Rating)

* No change at the top, plus Breaker is guaranteed a playoff berth—a worst-case 9-5 record would still qualify for the wild card. Breaker is the first to lock in his reservations for September action.

* CLINCH SCENARIO: Breaker win AND Robbie Maynard loss. This would seal the Beta Division race. A Breaker loss just minimizes his chances of taking one of the top two seeds.

* Remaining opponents: Hardcore vs. SGRaaize (4-8), Tarik Nolan (6-6)

#2 Seed: The British Warrior (8-4, 5-0 Alpha Division, 2.58 Match Rating)

* Warrior gains a spot, and has a death grip on the Alpha Division lead.

* CLINCH SCENARIO: British Warrior win OR Nuclear Templeton loss would lock up the Alpha Division race.

* Remaining opponents: Shawn Arrows (4-8), Maxx Skabb (5-7)

#3 Seed: Sean (7-5, 3-2 Gamma Division, 3.67 Match Rating)

* Drops another spot, and after the loss last week to Diamond finds his hold on the division tenuous at best.

* CLINCH SCENARIO: Sean win AND Diamond loss AND Johnny Triumph loss. Sean needs a lot to go right to finish the division off next week; I see a week fourteen finale to determine the Gamma Division champion.

* Remaining opponents: The Phoenix (3-9), Diamond (6-6)

THE WILD CARD...

Wild Card (#4 Seed): Robbie Maynard (8-4, 3-1 Beta Division, 4.75 Match Rating)

* Maynard is two matches up on four different wrestlers.

* CLINCH SCENARIO: Robbie Maynard win. With two of the wrestlers chasing him facing each other next week, a Maynard win is the only sure-fire way to clinch a playoff spot next week.

* Remaining opponents: Tarik Nolan (6-6), SGRaaize (4-8)

AND THE FOLLOWERS...

On the Brink: Diamond (6-6, 2-3 Gamma Division, 6.17 Match Rating)

* Her win against Tarik Nolan catapults her up three spots to #5 and to the top of a logjam in the overall League standings. One match out of the Gamma Division lead, this late push is making things interesting.

* Remaining opponents: Nuclear Templeton (6-6), Sean (7-5)

On the Brink: Johnny Triumph (6-6, 2-3 Gamma Division, 5.25 Match Rating)

* Up 3 spots to #6, Triumph has been getting the help he needs, but needs a little more to have a chance at taking the #3 seed from Sean.

* Remaining opponents: Hardcore vs. Maxx Skabb (5-7), Shawn Arrows (4-8)

On Life Support: Nuclear Templeton (6-6, 2-3 Alpha Division, 4.50 Match Rating)

* Templeton falls two spots, to #7. Last week was his best hope to get back in the race; his upset loss all but ruins his chances.

* Next opponents: Diamond (6-6), The Phoenix (3-9)

On Life Support: Tarik Nolan (6-6, 1-3 Beta Division, 3.75 Match Rating)

* Down to #8, Nolan's chances are all but gone. He can help himself if he wins out, but odds are that it is not likely.

* Remaining opponents: Robbie Maynard (8-4), Breaker (9-3)

Eliminated: Maxx Skabb (5-7, 2-3 Alpha Division, 5.08 Match Rating)

* Losing to The British Warrior sealed his fate in the Alpha Division, Maynard winning his match sealed his fate in the wild card. Skabb is three out with two to go...no way he can make the deficits up.

* Remaining opponents: Hardcore vs. Johnny Triumph (6-6), British Warrior (8-4)

Eliminated: SGRaaize (4-8, 1-3 Beta Division, 3.25 Match Rating)

* His loss plus Maynard's win spelled the end of Raaize's postseason dreams.

* Remaining opponents: Hardcore vs. Breaker (9-3), Robbie Maynard (8-4)

Eliminated: Shawn Arrows (4-8, 3-2 Gamma Division, 4.92 Match Rating)

* Much like Raaize, his loss plus Maynard's win sealed it.

* Remaining opponents: British Warrior (8-4), Johnny Triumph (6-6)

Eliminated: The Phoenix (3-9, 1-4 Alpha Division, 5.25 Match Rating)

* Phoenix gets to play spoiler last week and upsets Templeton; that could cost Nuclear a postseason berth.

* Remaining opponents: Sean (7-5), Cage vs. Nuclear Templeton (6-6)

Lisbon, Portugal hosts the League in the penultimate regular season week, and I fully expect a partisan crowd out in support of SGRaaize, the lone Portugal native of The League. Of course, there will be other attractions, so let's take a look at the card.

WEEK THIRTEEN: LISBON, PORTUGAL (WESTERN EUROPE)

(Old School match, strict rules enforcement, no ref bumps allowed)

Nuclear Templeton (6-6, 12%) vs. Diamond (6-6, 15%)

The 6-6 logjam will start getting busted up early this card, it seems. Templeton has more to lose, and he's going to be fired up after losing to Phoenix; I expect him to put Diamond away early in this one.

Tori's Prediction: Nuclear Templeton, via pinfall (Armageddon Lariat), 9:30, D

HARDCORE MATCH: Johnny Triumph (6-6, 15%) vs. Maxx Skabb (5-7, 12%)

Triumph wants to win the Gamma Division; with Diamond losing in the match before I think he'll take full advantage.

Tori's Prediction: Johnny Triumph, via submission (Horns of victory), 12:10, C

Sean (7-5, 15%) vs. The Phoenix (3-9, 15%)

Can Phoenix play spoiler twice in a row? My magic 8-Ball tells me "no."

Tori's Prediction: Sean, via submission (Modified Figure Four Leglock), 6:40, E

BETA DIVISION: Robbie Maynard (8-4, 15%) vs. Tarik Nolan (6-6, 15%)

Say good night, Tarik. Maynard clinches a playoff berth here.

Tori's Prediction: Robbie Maynard, via submission (Merseyside Maul), 9:30, C

Shawn Arrows (4-8, 15%) vs. The British Warrior (8-4, 15%)

Templeton may win earlier, but Warrior's going to seal it away here and clinch the Alpha Division.

Tori's Prediction: British Warrior, via submission (Figure Four Leglock), 11:40, C

BETA DIVISION, HARDCORE MATCH: Breaker (9-3, 15%) vs. SGRaaize (4-8, 24%)

Raaize is wrestling in front of his countrymen, and is wrestling solely for pride. Calling an upset.

Tori's Prediction: SGRaaize, via pinfall (Portugal Lariat), 17:10, B

The season winds up in Monterrey,Mexico, so until then this is Tori Montgomery...so long from ringside!

WEEK THIRTEEN: LISBON, PORTUGAL (WESTERN EUROPE)

Nuclear Templeton (6-6, 12%) vs. Diamond (6-6, 15%)

HARDCORE MATCH: Johnny Triumph (6-6, 15%) vs. Maxx Skabb (5-7, 12%)

Sean (7-5, 15%) vs. The Phoenix (3-9, 15%)

BETA DIVISION: Robbie Maynard (8-4, 15%) vs. Tarik Nolan (6-6, 15%)

Shawn Arrows (4-8, 15%) vs. The British Warrior (8-4, 15%)

BETA DIVISION, HARDCORE MATCH: Breaker (9-3, 15%) vs. SGRaaize (4-8, 24%)
