Takes into account my discount on actors/directors, and the fact that my marketing costs less.

Studio - Ascending Numbers Production

Pre-Filming Bank Balance - $16.65 Million

Title - Forza Italia

Lead Actor - Gerard Butler (25,000)

Lead Actress - Jessica Biel (50,000)

Supporting Actor - Robert DeNiro (100,000) & Leonardo DiCaprio (37500)

Supporting Actress - N/A

Director - Michale Bay (87,500)

Genre - Action

Plot - Michael Rizzi (Gerard Butler) is an undercover agent, in a large Italian mafia (based in Milan, Italy), headed up by a man only known as "The Don" (Robert DeNiro). The movie starts showing the Michael within a room, meeting with the Don and discussing the "families" future. It is shown that he is very close with the Don.

Once the meeting is over, Michael phones up his bosses and reveals that he has enough evidence against the Don, and that he believes he should be pulled out as soon as possible as he fears the Don is growing suspicious that someone inside the organisation is working undercover. The agency agree, and tell him to prepare to leave tomorrow, and that he will be travelling to an airfield far away to get taken back to America, but he also has to bring with him The Don's daughter, Maria (Jessica Biel), who has apparantly agreed to testify against him. (I.E A long car journey to the airfield, with lots of opportunity's for car chases. ;))

The pair sneak off in the middle of the night, to avoid being seen by The Don or his henchmen, but in the morning when he finds out the pair are missing, he commisions a country-wide search for them, sending out many henchmen, but also his right-hand man Salvatore (played by Leonardo DiCaprio).

The next scenes focus on Maria & Michael getting to know each other (and a relationship forming), while making their way to the airfield. However this is broken up when the Don's hitmen spot the car, beginning a car chase. The car chase takes part in a small Italian town, with lots of small, narrow roads alongside houses. The car chase ends when the hitmen crash into each other (after being lead into each other by Michael) leaving Michael & Maria to drive off.

That night they stop off at a safe-house that had been prepared for them, and despite instructions to not get involved personally with Maria by his bosses, Michael & Maria spend the night together (;)).

They are woken up in the morning by the sounds of footsteps outside the house, which is revealed to be Salvatore. A fist fight breaks out between the two, leading to much of the furniture and glass in the house being destroyed. The scene ends with Michael knocking Salvatore unconscious, and promptly driving away from the house with Maria.

Again they nearly make it to the air-field when they are met by more henchmen, and we have the second car chase of the film, which again our heroes escape.

When they make it to the airfield they are met by Salvatore, and again a fight commences which Michael wins. With Salvatore on the floor, the Don emerges and shoots Salvatore, killing him, declaring that he is nothing but a dissapointment. The Don then points his gun at Michael, and after some declaring that Michael was the last person he expected to be a 'snitch' & a 'coward' prepares to pull the trigger...when Maria emerges with a gun of her own, pointing it at her father. The Don does not believe his own daughter would shoot him (and says so), he prepares to pull the trigger again, only to be shot in the leg by Maria, who instantly drops the gun in shock.

Michael comforts Maria telling her she did the right thing. Right then the American plane touches down. Michael puts the injured Don on the plane, before telling his bosses (who flew over on the plane), that he is willing to testify against the Don, but has decided to stay in Italy with Maria.

The final shot see's the couple driving off into the sunset.

Location - Milan, Italy

Budget - $5'000'000 ($300'000 Cast & Crew + $3'000'000 Production + $1'700'000 Promotion)

Duration - 1 hour 51 Minutes (111 Mins.)

Ascending Numbers Productions can put out almost any movie, and I swear I'll enjoy the living heck out of it.

Case in point: Forza Italia.

It's got it all: bone-crushing action, pulse-pounding chase scenes, intense character-revealing moments, and a little romance. (One thing...Gerard Butler...you lucky dog. You lucky dog.)

It's a sweet-looking movie...what else would you expect from Michael Bay? The thing about this movie, unlike every single Transformers film, it is thought-out. It is reasonable. It is well-acted.

Simply an all-star cast, including a superb performance from Leonardo DiCaprio, who was just a minor character in this film. While it looked like Gerard Butler slugged his way through some parts of the film, looking slightly out of it, it worked out just fine.

Bottom Line: There's a reason why these guys are on top of the world. Good luck catching them. Forza is one you should definitely go out and see.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Revenue: $9.62 Million

Effects:

- Gerard, Gerard, Gerard. Not only am I mad about you getting cozy with Jessica Biel, you also failed a big drug test during filming. No more films for you for the rest of the week. Go into rehab and try to clean up your act, will ya?

- Leonardo DiCaprio's performance demands a starring role sometime soon. You'll get a slight price cut for putting him in one...now $60,000.

Ascending Numbers Productions now has a colossal $21.27 Million in the bank.

SO while we finish up the last few films, for those who are awake how do we feel about this.... What if we split the companies in half. For instance tomorrow only X companies can post movies then they sit out Wed and the other half posts. That should: 1) makes things a bit easier for me and the other mods

2) help you guys out a little on the casting of stars.

I want to put out a sort of wavier wire in terms of calling "dibs" but there's no real practical way to do it. If I say hey Astil gets first pick of cast but he doesn't log in until 8pm it kind of screws everyone else.... can anyone think of another way?

You could have peeps who wish to reserve send in a list of their top 3 wanted lead actors, and one for their top 3 actresses they want for their next movie day. Randomize Orders from both sides of the list and determine that way. If their list runs out well, they work with whos available.

You could set something up where someone can post a movie with a used actor, but have the release pushed back a day.

For example, lets say 1234 used Dustin Hoffman on Monday. He posted his movie and everything is fine, Hoffman is off the books for that day.

Then I come along and want Hoffman too. I can post my movie today (with Hoffman in the cast) but have in large bold letters that the movie won't be released until Tuesday. Come Tuesday, my movie can be reviewed as if it were posted that day.

Some guidelines would be needed, such as only allowing this to happen one day in advance and that the studio who has the actor booked can't be the one booking them for the next day.

I'm all for that idea. I mean, to be honest, even as a reader and not reviewer, the amount of films being released is kind of exhausting. Plus it'll give me a chance to cast who I need ;)

That isn't to say I am opposed to your idea mad, in fact I quite like it. Just tossing around ideas.

Revenant Productions ($6,260,000)

Title – Andromeda

Lead Actor – Michael Caine ($??)

Lead Actress – Evan Rachel Wood ($40,000)

Supporting Actress – Marcia Gay Harden ($??)

Director – Alfonso Cuarón ($??)

Genre – Sci-Fi

Plot –

At this moment the Galaxy Andromeda is headed on a collision course with our own Milky Way. Significantly larger than the Milky Way, when Andromeda and our galaxy collide they will merge and form a giant elliptical galaxy, however, in this chaos earth and our Solar System will likely be destroyed. Scientists expect this collision to occur in 4.5 billion years, but as is often the case with all things involving space things change, and change rapidly.

It is now the year 4358 and Andromeda is on our doorstep. The entire globe has been thrust into a 24/7 Aurora Borealis. Although beautiful the Aurora is like a fire alarm, giving warning to the human race that time is running out. Our solar system is a ticking time bomb, at any moment the world could end; it could be incinerated by a supernova, fried by a gamma ray burst, or even struck by a meteorite. It could happen in the next 5 minutes or it could take a billion years, there is no way to tell for sure.

Back on earth chaos has ensued. Intragalactic flight is possible and humans have just begun to explore the Milky Way as well as set up starter colonies on the planet Mars. In theory countries such as the US, the UK, Japan, and China have announced that travel to separate galaxies is possible. It is untested but it is the only source of hope for the human race. Over the past few years the worlds leaders and those that could afford it have borded ships and put there hope in this theoretical possibility.

With the wealthy and powerful already off planet, the US has opened the remaining space aboard their ships open to the public. The young and able bodied have preferential treatment. Pregnant women and a single parent with a child can virtually write their own ticket aboard. It is here that we meet Jessica (Evan Rachel Wood), a woman in her late-twenties, she is 8-months pregnant but has no means to get from Colorado to Florida where the last remaining ships are located. Desperate she turns to her estranged father John (Michael Cain) for help.

They have not spoken in almost 10 years, shortly after John divorced her mother. The movie follows them through their week long journey from CO to FL, where the fractured remnants of a broken society and the strained Father and Daughter are at each others throats. The focus is on John’s and Jessica’s last chance to fix their relationship with brief intermissions of action as the duo face the dangers of a society with no rules and attempt by a crazed and desperate woman (Marcia Gay Harden) to kidnap and steal Jessica’s unborn child.

The movie closes with Jessica boarding one of the last ships off planet and John quietly sitting down on a park bench to watch the magnificent light show.

Location – US, (CO and FL)

Budget – Actors ($40,000 + whatever Cain, Gay Harden and Cuaron cost) + Production ($1,000,000) + Promotion ($250,000) = $1,290,000 + (cost of Cain, Gay Harden and Cuaron)

Duration – 125 mins

Revenant Productions made me a believer last week with their amazing Sci-Fi movie Host. This week they try to do it again with the futuristic thriller Andromeda. One thing this film had going for it was the scenery. Future Earth looked magnificent and the scenes were well shot. The story, while not as gripping as Host was still enough to keep your attention. My biggest complaint was their lack of any real star power on the film. Michael Cain, best known for his support in Batman, played the lead actor, and sadly that was as big name as it got. Overall, I give this film an average review, that could have been much better due to the production put into it. However, the storyline just wasn’t up to the same standard of the film, nor was the acting.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5

Revenue: 950,000

The Effect:

Michael Cain now wants 30,000 per movie

Marcia Gay Harden wants 20,000 per movie

Alfonso Cuaron wants 150,000 per movie

Revenant Productions has a balance of 5,720,000

Pssst...

The Green Sheet from Frisky T-Rex Productions is missing from the list.

Also, despite my absolute LOVE of the C-Verse, I vote against using any of its people as actors/actresses. I do have a C-Verse movie planned, actually, but it will star real folks.

But, I think it'd just be too weird to suddenly go "oh, people from this fictional world are now mingling with the real world folks!". Yeah, not a fan of that idea.

The problem with this is it will just make things more confusing and harder to read for both readers and especially modders who are trying to keep up.

Yeah, I saw the review :-)

BUT, my point is, it's missing from the list of the film's from today. Unless it was technically, like, the last film of the previous day, in which case I apologize. :o

But that doesn't stop Pres and Danny, who, thanks to a watch's bright reflection getting in the eyes of Thompson's star outfielder/base-stealer and causing him to crash into the wall (cameo by Dexter Fowler), knock the rich kid's team down in the standings.

As Happy J. Wilson goes insane, starting a personal manhunt for whoever is responsible for these injuries, Thompson himself hires tighter security on his biggest star, a power hitter by the name of Smash Hernandez (cameo by David Ortiz).

None of Pres and Danny's plans seem to work, and Smash seemingly gets better and better as the attempts are foiled. This surge causes Thompson to get to the top of the league towards the end of the season. Thompson suspects Pres and Danny, and call them during their hunt to thank them for causing his team to succeed again.

This infuriates them, so they decide to go for their biggest plan yet, which involves a fake ESPN studio, tainted shrimp c0cktail, three rolls of duct tape, some plastic explosives, and former major league star Randy Johnson (yet another cameo)!

While the plan is slowly beginning to take shape, the two find out that Thompson has been personally handing out steroids to his "Big Three", causing their play to skyrocket. Before they can report this, Happy J. Wilson storms into the fake studio and has Pres and Danny arrested.

A night in jail and a huge argument separate Pres and Danny, jeopardizing their friendship. In a tear-jerking scene towards the end of the movie, Pres calls out to the baseball gods to help them get out of this mess and restore his friendship with Danny.

The gods answer Pres quickly, as they are bailed out of jail by...Happy J. Wilson! As the audience is shocked over the huge swerve, Wilson informs them that they had found the steroids that had been distributed, Smash was suspended, Thompson was headed to jail, and the two were now going to get jobs as league officials, making sure security is tight and everything's going by the rules.

The film ends with the two starting another ridiculous scheme on a last-place team, riding off into the sunset on golf carts marked SECURITY, talking about their tie for the fantasy league title the year before.

Location- Atlanta, San Francisco, New York City

 Budget- Casting, including cameos ($400,000) + Production ($600,000) + Promotion ($1,000,000) = $2,000,000

 Duration- 1 Hour, 43 Minutes

Extra Info:

- * Means I got a discount.

- ** Means I didn't know how much these guys were worth (unlisted).

- Way Out In Left Field is gambling with this film, investing almost their entire capital in this movie, despite the trends that may or may not be there when it premieres (fingers crossed).

- The massive promotion budget, hoping to draw a big box office return, covered all MLB broadcasts leading up to the premiere, including FOX and ESPN telecasts...with a huge presence on Opening Day festivities.

Way Out In Left Field Productions hit theaters with another sports-film, this time shifting away from drama and toward a baseball comedy. And while it isn't quite a home run, Three Up, Three Down is a hit (a triple, as it were).

Just about everything in Three Up, Three Down feels right, from the ultra appropriate title, to the pervasive advertising campaign, to the numerous cameo appearances. The film did quite well in the box office, despite the tendency for sports comedies to draw from a niche market (it can be hard for guys to convince girlfriends/wives to see sports comedies, especially when none of the main actors provide eye candy for the ladies (at least that's what my wife says)). The advertising for the film, word of mouth about the hilarity of the injury attempts and scenes, and Jack Black's star power likely helped to draw in money.

Jack Black (as "Pres" Davis") is outlandish as ever and seems like a natural fit for the role. David Spade (as Danny Bruce) does nearly as well in his role, which is no small feat, given the quality of Black's performance. Neil Patrick Harris and Dennis Quaid do adequate jobs in support roles, but make no mistake about folks: this film is about Jack Black and David Spade.

The hijinks and physical comedy in this film are second to none, a tribute to both the actors skill and Rob Reiner's direction. The film falls slightly short of being great towards the end, as the fallout between Pres and Danny feels a bit jarring given the film's setup and the big swerve at the end feels almost too clean to audiences.

Reviewer Note: I quite enjoyed the production notes (regarding how WOILF was approaching the film and the discussion of how the advertising was spent. It helped with the subjective elements of how to evaluate the marketing and production.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 (just a hair away from 4~)

Revenue: $4,200,000 (giving Way Out in Left Field productions a balance of $4,400,000.

Effects:

Jack Black now wants $60,000 per film.

Clint Eastwood and Diane Lane are both more than up for the emotional demands of the roles, though surprisingly, neither excel in their roles. Something about the movie feels unexpectedly flat. Rumor has it that Eastwood was unsatisfied in working for Favreau, as he felt as though the director (famous for movies like Elf and Iron Man) didn't really have a sense on how to handle an intense emotional drama. More cynical reviewers have suggested that Eastwood phoned in his performance, after being passed over for Harrison Ford in Favreau's upcoming movie Cowboys and Aliens.

In terms of the film, early focus group data suggests that it was hard for audiences to identify with Eastwood as a failed actor, given his storied career. Simulatenously, Lane was overshadowed by Eastwood in the film and it was difficult for audiences to reconcile the 35 year age difference between Lane and Eastwood.

The film ends as Eastwood foregoes his last chance and stays with his wife, thanks to intervention by his daughter (played by Christy Carlson Romano, who does an adequate but largely unmemorable job). Despite the hickups, the film still works on some level (thanks, undoutbely, to the talents and star power of Eastwood and Lane), although this reviewer can't help but shake the feeling that with a bit more luck and a couple of changes, this could have been a groundbreaking, award winning film.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5

Revenue: $1,380,000 (giving JTandSilentBob a balance of $1,380,000).

Effects:

Clint Eastwood requires that his next contract allow him to be the lead actor and director of his next film (this will require his director and actor fees).

I think that's everything but Early Dawn. I think MrCanada resolved the issues with that movie in a resubmission later in the day, but I'd feel more comfortable letting madd or more one of the more experienced reviewers make the call on that.

THE LIST:
