WCW Saturday Night promises to be the biggest edition of this long running show's history. With World War 3 just a day away the United States Championship tournament will have it's finals decided on Saturday Night. In one match Steve Austin will face Meng, and in the other Eddy Guerrero will face Arn Anderson. Both matches promise to feature some hard hitting action as these four men will do anything to make it to the finals of the tournament at World War 3 this Sunday.

The two other matches on Saturday Night also feature men who will be participating in World War 3. In one match Alex Wright will battle Tully Blanchard. Both men are competing in the big battle royal, but WCW recently announced that Blanchard will face Sting in a one-on-one match at the pay-per-view, expect more on that announcement during Blanchard's match against Wright. In the night's other battle each team from the Tag Team Title match at the pay-per-view will be represented as the World Tag Team Champions Harlem Heat will have Stevie Ray face Road Warrior Hawk in a one-on-one match. There will be some heavy scouting done in this match, and there will be a lot of momentum up for grabs.

Quick Picks

US Tournament Semifinal: Steve Austin vs. Meng

US Tournament Semifinal: Eddy Guerrero vs. Arn Anderson

Road Warrior Hawk vs. Stevie Ray

Alex Wright vs. Tully Blanchard

US Tournament Semifinal: Steve Austin vs. Meng

For some reason I really don´t see Meng getting any further on the tournament.

US Tournament Semifinal: Eddy Guerrero vs. Arn Anderson

Could go either way but since I expect Austin to get into finals, Arn has to take the win here in order to make face vs. heel match-up in the finals.

Road Warrior Hawk vs. Stevie Ray

another one that could go either way but since I expect Harlem Heat to retain their tag titles, I will give this one to Hawk in order to make his team look more dangerous before the big match.

Alex Wright vs. Tully Blanchard

Wright is a jobber so Tully picks up the win here.

US Tournament Semifinal: Steve Austin vs. Meng

US Tournament Semifinal: Eddy Guerrero vs. Arn Anderson

I'm saddened really, I wanted to see Eddy win the whole thing. He put DDP over, now he's losing out here. Austin vs Horsemen is a hot feud though, and having the US title involved with it doesn't hurt I guess.

Road Warrior Hawk vs. Stevie Ray

I go this way just because I think it'll be fun for Benoit to see that Hawk isn't unstoppable.

Alex Wright vs. Tully Blanchard

US Tournament Semifinal: Steve Austin vs. Meng

Nice run Meng, but its Steve Austin you're about to face

US Tournament Semifinal: Eddy Guerrero vs. Arn Anderson

Think its time for some Eddy and win over Arn, makes him a star

Road Warrior Hawk vs. Stevie Ray

zergon's reasoning is my reasoning

Alex Wright vs. Tully Blanchard

I know Tull is past his prime, but its not like he can make Alex a star, like Arn can do for Eddy..

As Blanchard made his entrance to the ring the announcers made the announcement that Tully Blanchard will have a singles match in addition to competing in World War 3. The man that he would be facing would be a man that he has worked hard to anger, Sting. Blanchard clearly had this match on his mind as he seemed to be off elsewhere, and Alex Wright almost got a pinfall early in the match. This woke Blanchard up and he started laying the boots to the young German, who just didn’t have the experience to do anything to combat Tully’s seasoned offense. The finish came as Tully kicked Wright in the gut, then spiked him with a </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong>piledriver</strong></span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> to get the three count.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

These two men will also be working double duty on Sunday as they will not only compete in the battle royal, they will also be in a World Tag Team Title match as Harlem Heat will take on Road Warrior Hawk and Chris Benoit. This match featured two very powerful performers. Stevie Ray worked Hawk over, trying to get the momentum in the corner of he and his brother for the big tag team match, and the crowd was looking shocked that Stevie was controlling Hawk, but that didn’t last for long as Hawk showed that he is just as talented in singles matches as he is in tag team action. The finish came with Stevie Ray trying to rush Hawk, who caught him with a huge </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong>Powerslam</strong></span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> and got the three count.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

A video plays showing the most high profile feud in WCW for quite some time. </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong>Hulk Hogan and Lex Luger</strong></span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> have been at each other’s throats for months, and it all comes to a head inside the steel cage at World War 3.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

The announcers then go over </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong>Eddy Guerrero and Arn Anderson’s</strong></span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> trips to this point in the United States Championship tournament. They put over the fact that Guerrero was attacked by the Four Horsemen on Monday Night, which could give Anderson a huge advantage in this semifinal match.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

Eddy Guerrero vs. Arn Anderson</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

Guerrero tried to act like he had no ill effects left over from the beatdown that he took on Monday Night, but Anderson knew better and went right to work on the legs of Guerrero, taking his high flying antics out of the match very early on. Without his base Guerrero’s speed game was in very serious trouble, and it seemed as if Arn Anderson was content in keeping him on the mat the whole match and just pound away on him. The crowd was very upset at how Anderson was going about things, but it was painfully obvious that it was working as Guerrero couldn’t get much offense going at all. This gave Anderson the opportunity to talk trash to the fans, which might not have been the smartest thing to do against a competitor like Guerrero.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

Eddy’s Latin blood was set off as Anderson wasn’t taking him seriously, and Guerrero got a surge of adrenaline from it and took Anderson over the top rope with a dropkick. As Anderson struggled to his feet on the outside Guerrero headed up top, then leaped to the floor onto Double A with a cross body. The crowd was going crazy as Guerrero forced Anderson back into the ring, but could only get a two count. Eddy stayed on the attack after that, and it looked like Arn’s overconfidence could do him in. Guerrero positioned himself behind Anderson for a back suplex, but Anderson wasn’t having it and lifted his leg backwards, striking Guerrero below the belt. Eddy looked like he was going to pass out from the pain, and Anderson caught him with a </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong>DDT</strong></span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> and got the three count, much to the anger of the WCW fans.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: Arn Anderson</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

Much like the first semifinal match, the announcers talked about the paths to the semifinals for both </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong>Steve Austin and Meng</strong></span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">. Austin’s road was through the Four Horsemen, including a victory over Tully Blanchard in the first round. Meng has been dominant in the tournament so far though, and the announcers wonder if there is anybody in this tournament that can put a stop to his reign of terror.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

Steve Austin vs. Meng</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

Austin brought in a strategy that many would not consider to be the smartest one they have ever seen. He got right up in Meng’s face and started talking trash. The fans absolutely loved it, but Meng didn’t. Austin started punching at Meng, who seemed to have some cobwebs building. He shook them loose though and exploded on Austin with a Superkick, and almost finished the match as soon as it had started. Meng was in firm control now though, as the announcers talked about how reckless Austin’s strategy was. Meng even locked in the Tongan Death Grip several times, but Austin was able to flail towards the ropes on every occasion.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

Meng started to get frustrated, and he eventually wielded the Golden Spike. Even though the referee threatened to disqualify him, he didn’t seem to care and he was intent on using the spike on the neck of Austin. He got him up to his feet, sized him up and swung, but Austin was able to avoid the debilitating strike and then went crazy. He started pounding and stomping away on Meng, seemingly not pausing at all as he punished Meng like very few men ever have. In the fury though somehow the referee got smashed between the two men and was down and out on the mat. Austin stayed on top, but the crowd went into an uproar when Brian Pillman appeared in the ring, holding a steel chair. Austin picked Meng up and turned around, and he saw Pillman at the last second and moved, as </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong>Pillman blasted Meng with a headshot</strong></span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">. Austin then threw Pillman out of the ring and he woke up the referee, then pinned Meng and got the three count, cashing his ticket to meet Arn Anderson tomorrow night for the United States Championship.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;">

World War 3 is an event like none before it. 60 men will enter 3 rings and attempt to throw each other over the top rope until there is only 10 men left in each ring, and the remaining wrestlers will then merge into the center ring and do battle until only one man is left standing. The winner of this battle royal will get a title shot at the newly revamped Clash of the Champions pay-per-view in January. Every wrestler except Hulk Hogan and Lex Luger will be stepping into the ring for this battle royal, who will be coming out the winner?

The reason Hogan and Luger won't be competing is because they are in the main event of the evening, a steel cage match for the World Heavyweight Championship. These two have fought tooth and nail to prove that they are the best wrestler in the world today, and it will finally be decided at World War 3. There will be no outside interference, no disqualifications, just two hungry men locked inside a steel cage together, and only one will emerge the World Heavyweight Champion.

The United States Championship tournament has been raging for weeks, and it finally draws to a close at World War 3 as Steve Austin and Arn Anderson will battle for the title vacated by Ric Flair the night after he won it. Anderson and the Four Horsemen have made life a living hell for Austin since they reformed, but Austin is looking to not only get his hands back on the United States Championship here, he's looking for some payback.

The remaining two matches on the card have also been building. In one, the World Tag Team Championships will be on the line as Sister Sherri leads Harlem Heat into battle against Road Warrior Hawk and his new protoge, Chris Benoit. Hawk has been dominating Booker T and Stevie Ray in singles competition, and he has been teaching Benoit what it takes to be sucessful in tag team action. Will the new team capture gold tonight?

Sting and Tully Blanchard will round out the card as Sting looks to start picking off the Four Horsemen one-by-one. Much like Steve Austin, Sting has been on the receiving end of some punishment from the newly reformed Horsemen, and he's not going to take it lying down. He's already got his hands on the group a few times, and he looks to put Blanchard out of commission in this match. You know the Horsemen will be lurking though, what could this mean for the Stinger?

I could see this one going either way but in the end I think that Austin would gain more from the win.

World Tag Team Title Match

Hawk had his wins already so I go with Heat retaining and Hawk possibly turning heel after he feels that Benoit cost him the tag titles.

Sting vs. Tully Blanchard

Tully is the least important guy from Four Horseman while Sting is one of your top faces.

WCW World War 3

Sunday, November Week 3, 1995

Live from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia

Attendance: 15,000 (Sellout!)

The opening video plays for World War 3, showing many of the major competitors that will compete in the biggest battle royal in the history of professional wrestling, World War 3. Sixty men will enter the three rings set up in the middle of the Richmond Coliseum, and only one will leave the winner of the first ever World War 3 Battle Royal and will go on to face the World Heavyweight Champion at Clash of the Champions in January.

Sting vs. Tully Blanchard

Sting has been having some serious problems with the Four Horsemen. It started when they stole the United States Championship away from him last month, but now Sting has vowed to hunt down all the Horsemen. Blanchard was out by himself in this match, likely because the Horsemen were getting ready for the Battle Royal, plus Arn Anderson has a United States Title match coming up. This played against Blanchard as he was seriously outmatched by Sting at this point in his career. He tried to go on the attack against Sting, but didn’t have the power or speed he used to, and Sting was all over him. Sting slammed him around the ring, much to the crowd’s delight, then hit him with consecutive Stinger Splashes. Blanchard came out of the corner from it swinging, but never connected with Sting, who just turned up the offense even more. Blanchard tried to turn the tide by poking Sting in the eyes, but it just made him madder. Blanchard charged at him, but Sting took him down with a double leg takedown, then locked in the Scorpion Death Lock, forcing Blanchard to tap out.

Winner: Sting

Time: 9:20

Rating: B+

World Tag Team Championship Match

Harlem Heat © w/ Sister Sherri vs. Road Warrior Hawk and Chris Benoit

Hawk and Benoit have been working closely lately, and it showed in the early goings of the match as they unleashed some great double team moves that nobody had seen from them before, and the fans were excited that they may finally be on the same page long enough to wrestle the gold away from Harlem Heat. As good as Hawk and Benoit’s teamwork is getting, it can’t be better than Harlem Heat’s, who grew up fighting side by side on the streets, and it showed when they used any method they felt was necessary at the same time to get back on top of things. Sister Sherri was yelling instructions at the duo at ringside, and it was helping out a lot as they knew what was coming from Hawk and Benoit.

The champions started to run into trouble eventually though as Hawk came out and started dominating the action. He took out Stevie Ray, then followed it up by knocking Booker T down a spot or two as well. The champions decided they needed to work on Hawk together and came in, but Hawk delivered a double clothesline to them to send them to the outside. He followed this up by tagging in Benoit, who bounced off the ropes to hit a plancha through the ropes on the champions as the crowd went wild. The action slowly moved back in the ring, where Hawk got back in, then planted Stevie with a Powerslam. Benoit begged to get in the ring, and he got the tag then went up top to finish things off. He leaped off the top rope for the Flying Heabutt, but Sister Sherri yelled to Stevie, who moved out of the way in time. He got over to Booker T, who forced a groggy Benoit up, then nailed an Axe Kick. He covered Benoit as Sister Sherri held the feet of Road Warrior Hawk to the mat and the referee counted to three, giving Harlem Heat a successful title defense.

A video plays showing the paths of Steve Austin and Arn Anderson through the United States Championship tournament leading up to this point, a one-on-one match between the two men for the very prestigious United States Championship. Anderson and the other Horsemen have been a thorn in the side of Steve Austin since he returned to WCW, and like Sting earlier in the night, he looks to knock off one of the Horsemen.

United States Championship Tournament

Final Round

Steve Austin vs. Arn Anderson

The crowd and announcers were surprised when Anderson came out for the match on his own, but they reiterated the importance of the upcoming battle royal. Austin wanted to come out of the gate flying, but Anderson was able to stay away from him and size up the former Untied States Champion Steve Austin. Austin was getting visibly upset as Anderson step between the ropes several times to keep Austin from getting the action going. This gameplan was brilliant as Anderson caught Austin as the referee was holding him back, and The Enforcer of the Horsemen started laying the boots to Austin, and almost got the three count on a number of occasions early in the match. The announcers were talking about how smart of a competitor Anderson is, and how Austin’s emotions might get the best of him tonight.

Austin had far too much hate for Anderson to not get a second wind though, and when he did he came out smoking. Anderson tried putting his hands up to block the onslaught, but it didn’t do any good as Austin was throwing punches like they were going out of business. He forced Anderson into a corner, then stomped away on his gut until he was down on the mat, and he kept on stomping. Anderson had to use the ropes to get back up to his feet, but when he did Austin charged with a Lou Thesz Press and threw even more punches as Double A. Austin was unaware of what was occurring outside the ring though as Brian Pillman was making his way down to the ring very quickly. As Anderson got up he pulled the referee in the way of a wayward Austin strike, and it caught the ref in the right ear. This allowed Pillman to get into the ring, but Austin sensed him and met him with a flurry of punches as well. The crowd was going crazy as Austin was fighting Pillman off. He backed him into the ropes, then clotheslined him over. He turned around and started stomping towards Anderson as the referee started to come around, but Anderson was ready and met Austin with a thunderous Spinebuster. He then forced Austin up, only to spike him back down with a DDT, then cover him for the three count.

The camera cuts away to the announcers Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan. The duo talks about the upcoming World War 3 Battle Royal, and talks about how the winner will be getting a World Title match in a few months time, which is an opportunity of a lifetime. They talk about how some non-household names in WCW have a chance to turn their careers around and get a chance to shine in the main event of a pay-per-view. They talk about how wrestlers will be coming out of the woodwork for this opportunity, an example is how Colonel Robert Parker is getting back in the ring for this chance. The competitors start filing out of the back, but one of them peels off to the side with a microphone, and it is revealed to be Ric Flair.

Ric Flair

I know that I already have earned a title match that I get to cash in before the year runs out, but I figured I’d make my way out for this match and go ahead and win it, earning myself another World Title match. The winner gets a title shot at Clash of the Champions in January, but come January I’ll already be World Champion, so I’ll have the night off! Everybody knows that I’m going to either beat Hogan or Luger for the World Title anyways. So who better for Ric Flair to face than the greatest wrestler in the world, Ric Flair! Wooooo!

World War 3

Sixty Man, Three Ring Battle Royal

Winner Faces the World Heavyweight Champion at Clash of the Champions

The action at the beginning was frantic, as the cameras switched between the three rings at a breakneck pace as several eliminations came close to happening. The first one eventually came as Lanny Poffo was hoisted straight into the air by The Giant to the outside. Somehow The Taskmaster ended up in the same ring as The Giant as well, so everytime somebody tried to mess with him, they were tossed out onto the floor for their troubles. People eventually figured out not to touch him, and a force field developed around him. In the middle ring the fans the wooo’s were flying as Flair chopped away at everybody who stood in his way, but he was mostly fighting a defensive match. Around ten wrestlers had been eliminated at this point, the majority of them from the ring that contained The Giant. The third ring was highlighted at the time by Randy Savage, who was fighting off the duo of Shark and Meng, but things weren’t looking good for him as the pair had him hanging on to the top rope.

Things were starting to thin down about twenty minutes into the battle royal, and The Giant and The Taskmaster were looking dominant, and it was their ring that was widdled down to ten first, and they were put on hold until the rings would merge at 30 men. The center ring had 12 men left, including Ric Flair and Sting. Sting was in serious trouble though, and the team of Maxx Muscle and Cobra charged at him, but Sting ducked them, then clotheslined them both over the top rope, getting his ring down to ten men, leaving only the third ring with people in it. It was at 11 as Eddy Guerrero was thrown over the top rope by Zodiac, but Guerrero held on, then swung his legs up and got Zodiac around the head with a head scissors and threw him over the top rope with the power in his legs, and it was time for the three rings to merge into one big 30 man battle royal with a World Title match on the line.

A group of men decided it was time to focus in on The Giant, and they went after him, but they found out how strong he is as he threw a handful of them across the ring. This gave them a chance to work on The Taskmaster though, and as The Giant was fighting off a group Sting threw The Taskmaster over the top rope to a huge pop from the crowd. Eliminations kept on coming at a frantic pace including the new United States Champion Arn Anderson, who was eliminated fittingly by Steve Austin, who he had defeated less than an hour earlier for that title. Austin was looking gassed at this point, but he kept on fighting as the battle royal reached 15 men. The middle of the ring cleared, and Meng and Jim Duggan faced off in the middle of it. They charged at each other several times with them just bouncing off of each other, but the last time Meng met Duggan with a Superkick that sent him tumbling over the top rope. After a few more eliminations the final ten had emerged as: The Giant, Ric Flair, Steve Austin, Sting, Meng, Road Warrior Hawk, Randy Savage, Eddy Guerrero, Big Bubba Rogers and Lord Steven Regal.

The first elimination of the final ten came as Eddy Guerrero got the idea to leap off the top rope at The Giant, who caught him then threw him out of the ring right on top of Jim Duggan. Lord Regal was the next to go at the hands of Steve Austin, who was somehow still standing after his long night of action. Big Bubba Rogers and Meng teamed up to throw Road Warrior Hawk out of the ring, but Randy Savage used their momentum to throw both of them out of the ring as well, leaving The Giant, Flair, Austin, Sting and Savage. The four men looked at each other and even though they aren’t the best of friends they decided it was time to get rid of The Giant. They made a move at him, but Steve Austin broke plan and surprised Ric Flair and threw him over the top rope, getting some payback for the hell the Horsemen have put him through the past month.

The final four them stared each other down as The Giant knew that Randy Savage, Steve Austin and Sting would do everything that they could to get rid of him. He fought them all off bravely, sending them flying all over the place, and in the mayhem somehow Sting got dumped to the outside of the ring. After this flurry all that was left in the ring was The Giant towering over Savage and Austin. They started teaming up on him and he was brought down to one knee, as it looked like they were going to be able to slay The Giant. They were surprised though as he got a demented look in his eyes and grabbed them both by the throats, then got back up and pushed them both over the top rope. The crowd was very unhappy as the Giant raised his arms triumphantly as he was the only man left standing after over an hour of battle. He wasn’t aware that Sting had been pushed through the middle of the ropes earlier though, and Sting checked with an official behind The Giant’s back, then stormed back in, grabbed his tights and threw him over the top rope as the crowd went crazy. Sting had survived and earned a title shot in two months time.

World Heavyweight Championship

Cage Match

Hulk Hogan © vs. Lex Luger w/ Jimmy Hart

The crowd was electric for this match as the Steel Cage was put in place in the center ring, and jeers were fired at Lex Luger and Jimmy Hart, but Luger looked more focused than ever, ready to claim the World Heavyweight Championship in one of the most anticipated matches of the year. The World Champion came out to thunderous applause as always, and he got right in the face of Luger during introductions, ready to get some revenge for the backstabbing Luger has done to him in the past. Things started out hot and heavy as Hogan wasn’t going to waste any time and he started pounding away on the head of Luger, then marched him over to the cage wall and slammed his head squarely into it several times, sending Luger down onto the mat. Hogan went for the Leg Drop right away, but Luger wasn’t softened up enough and rolled out of the way, then capitalized on the foolish move from the World Champion. Jimmy Hart yelled instructions as Luger started to pay Hogan back for the early punishment, and the crowd was calmed down as Luger slowly started wearing down Hogan, apparently conceding to the fact that this match was not going to have a quick result.

The announcers were impressed with the smarts of Luger, who had taken Hogan right out of his game. Hogan was starting to look like he didn’t have much left, and Luger just kept on wearing him down, not caring that the fans were growing restless with his tactics. He then decided it was time to finish things and hit a powerslam on Hogan, but Hulk grabbed onto his leg as he tried to escape through the cage door. Luger laughed as Hogan was clutching his leg, then stomped on him, which seemed to only enrage Hogan. He got straight up to his feet and laid out Luger with a Big Boot. Hogan then went to climb out of the cage, but Luger wasn’t out of it yet and got up and charged at the wall where Hogan had straddled the top of the cage. Luger started pounding away on Hogan, which forced him to drop down, and the pair were now holding on the cage and standing on the top rope slugging away at each other.

Hogan was able to get the best of this slugfest and headed back up the cage, but Luger climbed back up and straddled the cage just like Hogan. The crowd was on the edge of their seat as Hogan and Luger pounded away on each other at the top and teetered dangerously close to falling to a certain life-threatening injury. Each man became woozy from taking this constant barrage and dropped back down to the top rope and continued brawling. Hogan was able to duck on of Luger’s punches though, and he nailed the cage with his hand. As he stared down in pain Hogan took advantage and scooped Luger and slammed him down to the mat with a Powerslam from the top rope. Hogan then looked around at the crowd and bounced off the ropes, then delivered a huge Leg Drop across the throat of the challenger. Hogan demanded that the cage door be opened, and as he stepped out he was met by Jimmy Hart, who tried to hit him with his megaphone. Hogan just shrugged the attack off though and gave Hart what he had deserved for quite some time, a hard right hand to the side of the head. Hogan got a huge cheer as he took the final step out of the cage and touched the floor, successfully defending his World Title once again.

After the match Hogan celebrated with his title as Luger helped Hart to his feet and the two headed towards the back, looking very much defeated. Just as the announcers were thanking the fans for joining them and congratulating the World Champion they were cut off by the music of Ric Flair. The Nature Boy appeared on the ramp with a microphone.

Ric Flair

Hogan! I might not have won World War 3, but I’m still coming for the World Championship. I’ve got my World Title match that I earned earlier this month, and I know when I’m going to be cashing it in. Hulk, I’LL SEE YOU AT STARRCADE!

Last night at World War 3 Hulk Hogan was able to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Lex Luger for the second straight month, but after his hard fought steel cage match he was surprised by Ric Flair, who announced that he would be facing Hogan for the title in the main event of Starrcade next month. We will make that main event official on Nitro tonight as the final segment of the show will feature the contract signing between the two biggest names in the history of professional wrestling. Flair rarely goes anywhere on his own anymore, so you have to wonder if there will be a Four Horsemen appearance during this important contract signing.

Speaking of the Four Horsemen, the remaining three Horsemen will all be in action. The main event of the evening will be a rematch from last night's event as the winner of the battle royal and the title shot that comes with it in two months time, Sting will take on Tully Blanchard. The two had a very good match last night, and Tully Blanchard will be looking to even things up with the Stinger. The other two Horsemen, Brian Pillman and the new United States Champion, Arn Anderson will team up to take on the team of Steve Austin and Eddy Guerrero. Austin had one pulled over on him by the Horsemen for the second straight pay-per-view last night, so if he was already mad, he's going to be furious heading into Nitro.

Other action will see Randy Savage take on one-half of the Tag Team Champions, Booker T. Savage looked very strong in the battle royal last night, but couldn't pull out the victory. The most dominant wrestler in the battle royal was The Giant, and it even appeared that he won the battle royal before being eliminated last by Sting. The Giant can't be pleased with the ending of that match, and he looks to take out some frustration on Dean Malenko. Chris Benoit and Hawk will look to get things back on track as they face the team of Paul Orndorff and One Man Gang, but Mr. Wonderful and the Gang have a victory in the pair's only tag match together. Television Champion Diamond Dallas Page will also be in non-title action as he faces Brian Knobbs.

Quick Picks

Sting vs. Tully Blanchard

Steve Austin and Eddy Guerrero vs. Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman

Randy Savage vs. Booker T

Dean Malenko vs. The Giant

Road Warrior Hawk and Chris Benoit vs. Paul Orndorff and One Man Gang

Brian Knobbs vs. Diamond Dallas Page

Sting vs. Tully Blanchard

Tully might have got a second change to beat Sting but considering that Sting won the World War 3 battle royal I doubt that he will lose here.

Steve Austin and Eddy Guerrero vs. Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman

Pillman could use a win over Austin but since Anderson won the title I tsee this one going to Austin in order to set up another match between him and Arn.

Randy Savage vs. Booker T

Booker is tag guy while Saveg is singles wretler and main eventer so Savage takes this.

Dean Malenko vs. The Giant

Giant is higher on the ladders.

Road Warrior Hawk and Chris Benoit vs. Paul Orndorff and One Man Gang

I could see this one going either way but with Heat still as champs Hawk & Benoit make more sense as winning here unless you plan to break them up.

Brian Knobbs vs. Diamond Dallas Page

Again, singles guy over tag guy.
