D.O.T.T. - World Wrestling Federation

Recommended Posts

I will be running a diary using the D.O.T.T. mod pack as the WWF. I will be playing straight edge and begin as head book for the WWF with Vince McMahon as owner. This diary is starting from a game that is already in progress but I will provide plenty of back story to get everyone up to speed. For those who have not seen my diaries before (back in TEW 04 days) you can except 1980s rosters with a 1990s style of promotion. I will push both the "real" stars of the early 1980s along with plenty of "early" pushes for big names from the 1990s. I like to have both Show Reports as well as some backstory segments to let readers see what is happening between the shows. As always feel free to comment, predict, make requests, or whatever you want to do! This should be fun and I hope everyone enjoys the ride! :)

Good luck! As others have said, I'll be following this one. I'm currently playing my first extended game as WWF and am constantly wrestling with the oddballs on the roster. It'll be interesting to see how you deal with the free spirited Snuka, Muraco, etc. At least you have the anchor of Backlund. ;) He may not give spectacular matches, but he's as solid as they come on that roster*. Feb 1, 1983 We join a meeting already in progress at WWF Headquarters featuring several WWF higher ups including Vince McMahon Sr & Jr, Bruno Sammartino, Gorilla Monsoon, Pat Patterson, Arnold Skaalund, and several other nameless suits. Junior: Before we go any further I want to bring in a couple of gentlemen that have just recently joined us here at the WWF and who will become key decision makers as we move into the this new age of wrestling. With that, the doors open and in walks Killer Kowalski & Sam Muchnick. Junior: Clearly neither of these men need any introduction but I will give them one anyway. Mr. Kowalski is probably the greatest trainer in the history of the business and has the ability to mold new talent in ways that most people would never even consider. Mr. Muchnick comes to use from the Midwest and his history with the St. Louis Wrestling Club is nothing short of legendary. I would even dare to say that Sam could be the greatest booker in the history of the sport. As all of the men exchange greetings, Vinnie Mac Jr continues his address of the group. Junior: Wrestling as all of you have known it is changing. These regional federations and limitations that we have placed on ourselves are outdated. The WWF is going to introduce a new way of doing business. We are no longer limited by state lines...we are no longer limited by tradition...we are no longer limited by a "gentlemen's agreement"! From today forward the WWF is going to offer a new brand of wrestling...it will be called Sports Entertainment and it will usher in a new golden age for professional wrestling! Bruno: Hold on a minute. What are you talking about? Sports Entertainment? A new age of wrestling? You can't just change the way business has been done for fifty years. You can't just go back on agreements. Junior: Not only can I do these things...I WILL do these things! And the change begins right here...right now. We are no longer going to be pushing the same old tired workers who the fans have been watching for the past 20 years. It is time for new blood, new ways of working a match. I know this is confusing for many of you but you will learn soon enough that my way is the best way for the company and for wrestling. Pat: What about the Von Erichs, Crockett, Geigel, and all of the rest of those guys with the NWA? They are never going to let this stand and they will work together to put the WWF out of business. Junior: Actually that is what I am counting on. The more those old fools try to work against us, the stronger it will make our product. Gentlemen it is no longer just about putting on a good match in the ring...it is about story telling both in and out of the ring. Think of it like a great movie that never ends or a good book that just keeps going. Our fans are going to be shown a world they have never seen before in a way they could never imagine. The action in the ring is only the beginning and when the NWA comes knocking...well that will just be a really good storyline! The group continues to talk and argue amoungst themselves until Vince McMahon, Sr rises to his feet. While Senior is no longer the controlling influence in the company, he is as respected as anyone in the business. Senior: I know alot of you might not understand what my son is suggesting for this company and honestly I am not sure I understand myself BUT the WWF has always looked out for its own and this is no different. We will sink or swim with this new idea. If this Sports Entertainment thing works then we will dominate the business like it has never dominated before. If it fails...well then things won't be looking to good for any of us. So if you are not on board you need to leave now. Otherwise, give this everything you got and together we will make it happen. Junior: Tomorrow is the dawn of a new day. All of you will be given additional assignments and you will see a change in the shows. So get a good night's sleep because tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your lives! Will McMahon's new idea of Sports Entertainment work or will this new plan of rapid expansion destroy the WWF? Stay tuned and find out!

I like the idea of stalwarts like Bruno and Patterson objecting to the new ideas - after all they are still working the occasional match and are the very same old stars people have been watching for 20 years that Vinnie wants to get rid of! Oh, and I second DBoon, keep Backlund. History looks back and says he was bland, but I knew lots of kids who were devasted and crushed when he lost the belt to the Iron Sheik. One friend of mine had his parents finally take him to see an event at MSG to see his hero Backland, and it happened to be the show where Skaaland threw the towel. He was really incosolable. So Backland WAS able to connect with fans, and wasn't as completely bland as he is sometimes regarded.

For those that have not played the DOTT mod pack, here is a quick layout of the general state of the wrestling world in 1983. This description is taken directly from the DOTT readme file so credit goes to DBoon. General State of the Business 1983: • The territorial system is gasping its last breath, but the honor system of sticking to one’s own region, as well as not raiding talent, is still in place amongst the old guard. • In lieu of this, the ‘Big Three’ (AWA, WWF, and Mid-Atlantic) are beginning to see the logic in long term written contracts for their workers, but the practice is still a new one to many old-school promoters in the South. • Many big name wrestlers continue the age-old tradition of pay-per-appearance deals, often times appearing in several promotions at one given time – in particular in the southern promotions where roster ‘trades’ were the norm. • The NWA Board of Directors is currently beginning to show signs of cracking; Greedy eyes look toward the toddler cable industry and speculate on fortunes made. Jim Crockett Jr. – owner of the Mid-Atlantic promotion, Bob Geigel of the Central States, Eddie Graham of Florida, Fritz Von Erich in Texas, and Vince McMahon in the New England/Tri-State regions are beginning to sense changes in the wind. • After having recently gained control of the WWF promotion from his father, McMahon is soon to officially leave the NWA organization, informally declaring war on the agreed upon territorial system that has been in place since the late 40s. While the WW(W)F promotion has always been seen as independent of the NWA Board, both Vincent McMahon Sr. and his son Vince McMahon have voted upon key issues at meetings; in particular, the voting in of Ric Flair as NWA World Champion.

Sunday, Week 3, February 1983 WWF Challenge Pittsburgh Civic Arena located in Pittsburgh, PA Showing Live on TV Cable East 5,000 people are in attendance --------------------------------------- Pre-Show: *Pat Patterson vs Steve Austin (C Rating) ~Pat Patterson defeated Steve Austin in 4:23 when Steve Austin was put through a table. After the match Patterson exchanged words with Vince McMahon, clearly unhappy about the fact he was put in such a dangerous match with an inexperienced worker like Austin. On the positive side young Austin continues to improve but still has a long way to go and is still searching for a gimmick. *Lex Luger vs Tiger Chung Lee vs Diamond Dallas Page (C- Rating) ~Tiger Chung Lee defeated Lex Luger and Diamond Dallas Page in 5:33 when Tiger Chung Lee defeated Diamond Dallas Page by submission after interference from Freddie Blassie. Solid match with Tiger teaching the young talent how to work a match. *Tony Garea/Eddie Gilbert vs Kevin Nash/Triple H (D Rating) ~Kevin Nash and Triple H defeated Garea and Gilbert in 3:55 when Eddie Gilbert was disqualified while fighting Kevin Nash. Despite getting the win, Nash/Triple H both continue to struggle in the ring as they learn the ropes from veterans like Garea. --------------------------------------- Main Show: So Big! So Nasty! (C+ Rating) ~The show opens with Big John Studd and his manager "the fashion plate" Classie Freddie Blassie walking down to the ring and taunting the American Bad Ass (Mark Calloway) about their upcoming match tonight. The crowd jeers the pair as they talk about how they are going to destory ABA and how he is a piece of garbage just like the peope of Philadelphia! The Glamour Girls vs Mae Young/The Fabulous Moolah (B- Rating) ~Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah defeated The Glamour Girls in 5:40 when The Fabulous Moolah defeated Judy Martin by pinfall with a Crossbody Block. As the only women (besides Miss Elizabeth) on the WWF roster, the ladies put on a great match and continue to work well as an opening match. The Fabulous Moolah is the WWF Ladies Champ but none of the ladies are getting a push/storyline at the moment. Backstage Plotting (B+ Rating) ~The cameras head backstage where they find Freddie Blassie and Big John Studd engaged in an animated conversation. As soon as the two notice the camera, they hurry offscreen. This certainly means nothing but trouble for the American Bad Ass later tonight. Big John Studd vs The American Bad Ass (C Rating) ~Big John Studd defeated The American Bad Ass in 5:52 by pinfall after Freddie Blassie distracted the official and Big John Studd knocked out ABA with a pair of brass knuckles to the jaw. Big John Studd continued to beat on ABA after the match until uniformed police flooded the ring to break up the attack. This feud between two of the biggest men in the WWF seems like it is far from over. Studd has yet to get over the fact that ABA bodyslammed him in the middle of the ring a few weeks back and ABA clearly owes Studd some payback after this attack! Not so Macho Men (B Rating) ~The tag team of Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson have an interview backstage with newly signed announcer Eric Bischoff in which they taunt the Macho Man Randy Savage. Savage recently destroyed both men in separate matches and now they appear to get smart and work together to get the best of Macho who seemingly is hated by everyone on the WWF roster not named Vince McMahon. Tony Atlas/Rocky Johnson vs The Steiner Brothers (C+ Rating) ~Atlas and Johnson defeated Steiner Brothers in 6:26 when Scott Steiner was disqualified when he attacked Tony Atlas with the ring bell. Right after the DQ, Randy Savage came charging out of the back with a 2x4 and cleaned house. Both tag teams jumped out of the ring and it wasn't entirely clear who Savage was after although the smart money says he was looking for Atlas/Johnson. The Steiner Brothers continue to improve as a team although they have yet to settle on a catchy gimmick. Savage continues his reign of terror through the WWF as he interfers time and again but is never punished by the powers that be in the WWF. But my daddy is Bruno! (C Rating) ~After the ring is cleared out, Vince McMahon comes down to the ring. After a few minutes addressing the fans, he calls out the son of Bruno Sammartino. Once David Sammartino gets to the ring, Vince says that he is booking David to face the WWF Tag Team Champions,The Wild Samoans, in a handicap match up next and if he doesn't win the match, he is fired! The crowd goes wild with anger and David is beside himself. Moments later Bruno comes running out from the back and gets in McMahon's face. Heated words are exchanged before ringside security final breaks it up. The announcers push the fact that Vinnie Mac must be testing loyalities and that perhaps Bruno failed that test! The Wild Samoans vs David Sammartino (B- Rating) ~The Wild Samoans easily defeated David Sammartino in 4:27 when Afa defeated David Sammartino by pinfall with a Samoan Drop. After the match, Vince appeared on the big screen saying that David was fired and must leave the building immediately. The screen faded to black and 10 armed policemen came down to the ring and escorted David out of the arena...he wasn't even allowed to get his personal possessions! Main Event Hype (B+ Rating) ~Gorilla Monsoon killled some time by hyping tonight's main event between Bob Backlund and George Steele from the comfort of his announcers table. Backlund is the current WWF Heavyweight Champion and George "The Animal" Steele is a psycho path. Bob Backlund vs George Steele (B+ Rating) ~Bob Backlund defeated George Steele in 9:33 by pinfall with an Atomic Spinecrusher. Bob Backlund makes defence number 8 of his WWF World Heavyweight title. After the match was over, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka came out to the ring and attacked Backlund from behind off the top ropes with a flying elbow drop! Backlund never saw it coming because he was being distracted by Captain Lou Albano and was dropped like a sack of potatoes! The show ended with Snuka beating Backlund into the ground with Captain Lou Albano looking on with an evil grin! George "The Animal" Steele also gave Backlund a couple cheap shots while his manager, Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart watched the madness. Backlund's manager Arnold Skaalund ran to the back to get help although the move was called "yellow" by the announcers who suggested Arnold should have jumped into the ring to help his worker. --------------------------------------- Tuesday Night Titans Preview: *Vince McMahon will reveal his latest signing! *Pat Patterson vs Don "Magnificent" Muraco *Tony Atlas/Rocky Johnson vs Randy Savage/Mystery Partner *Bruno Sammartino vs George "The Animal" Steele *Appearance by Andre the Giant *Backlund responds to Snuka's attack --------------------------------------- Show Final Rating: B
Great show, my only complaint is... Taker? Already? But, Yay Bob!
He is still very much a youngster and this is a test push to see how the people will accept him. I am pushing him with a biker gimmick with the is he a good guy, is he a bad guy "grey area" angle that Vince McMahon will eventually make famous. Not going with the Undertaker gimmick because that would not have worked in 1983 in my opinion. Glad you liked the rest of the show and a roster will be out soon to get everyone up to date. Also my use of Mark Calloway is kind of a trademark for me in that I love to bring in the 90s names early and see how they fly but you won't see them used in an unrealistic way (Jerhico winning heavyweight gold, etc), however you gotta have an open mind! :)

ROSTER REVIEW: FEB 1983 Main Eventers: Bob Backlund (Clean Cut) ~Current WWF Heavyweight Champ and main stay of the roster. Sticks to the old school traditional style of wrestling where the story is told in the ring, not outside of it. Faces some interesting challenges as McMahon pushes a brand of wrestling in the WWF. Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka (Superfly) ~Snuka is the current WWF Intercontinental champion. Snuka has a high flying style that is all about big risk and big reward. Snuka could have a very bright future assuming he can avoid injury or betrayal! Andre The Giant (Gentle Giant) ~Andre is the man in pro wrestling. Nobody can touch this monster and everyone knows that Andre jobs to no man. Remember the old saying...never wake a sleeping giant! Superstar Billy Graham (Fabulous Heel) ~Billy Graham IS sports entertainment. The company's new style should be a perfect fit for Billy. Of course you can't work if you are out with an injury and Graham is about as injury prone as they get. Could be boom or bust with the Superstar! Bruno Sammartino (Ethinic Hero) ~Bruno is about as old school as you can get. He is all about honor and glory and doing things the right way. And at 47 years old he doesn't exactly fit Vince McMahon's mold for the future. Except plenty of conflict between Bruno and the boss. Don Muraco (Bad Ass) ~Don is just a flat out great worker that can carry almost anyone in a match. He is also ruthless and can really put on a great feud if given the chance. Masked Superstar (Brute Masked Man) ~Bill Eadie is a great heel who can really draw some heat from the crowd. He is currently under the mask but don't be shocked if you see one of his more famous gimmicks in the near future. Pedro Morales (Ethnic Hero) ~Pedro was the holder of the IC title before losing it to Jimmy Snuka. Is a very good in ring worker but could struggle in Vinnie Mac's "new world".
I loved mid atlantic, but didn't get to see much of it as a kid. I grew up with WWF so I'll reading along, look forward to debuts of British Bulldogs, Windham & Rotundo, Adrian Adonis, Tito Santana ( I'm guessing their still afew years away)
I would love to bring in the bulldogs "early" but they are being VERY loyal to Stu Hart up in Stampede Wrestling so they are not an option. Tito Santana could see some action in the diary because he has put on some good matches for me so far. Finally Windham, Rotundo, and Adonis won't be brought in for awhile. Glad you will be reading and thanks for the feedback!

As you are keeping both as Semi-Actives, I'd love to see the reformation of the Stevens & Patterson tag team. I personally believe that Stevens & Bockwinkel were better, but from the little I have seen of the former, they were darned impressive. Still.... the modern push that is being made to this WWF may be contrary to the two old-timers. One of the better things about your eclectic roster is that you can use those mid-carders and under to basically man your push into uncharted regions. Tiger Chung Lee and Tony Garea are perfect workers to break in those youngsters. The only bad thing about the roster, imho, is that your lower midcard and openers are all rookies. If you had a veteran or three mixed in with all of those guys, you'd have more variety than the above mentioned Chung Lee & Garea in training them. Have you broken any of your promotion pacts, yet?
Have you broken any of your promotion pacts, yet?
Not yet...muhahahahahaha! I am hoping to break the pacts and work that into the storyline. Perhaps a few small betrayals at first until the final smack in the face of the entire NWA. I did make one new promotion pact and that is with GLOW. You gotta have the ladies on your side! ;)

Rude comes out to make his first appearance as the newest signing and begins insulting the crowd as he claims to be the sexist man alive and that he can have any women he desires. The crowd appears to slightly confused by Rude and he is not drawing much heat. McMahon takes the microphone back and then calls out Lex "Total Package" Luger from the backstage area. He then announces that these two men (Luger & Rude) will be forming a new tag team named Total Perfection! The crowd roars its disapproval and the Luger/Rude begin flexing their muscles like it is a bodybuilding show. It would seem that McMahon knows his new "golden boys" are not ready for prime time as evidenced by the fact he introduced them in the pre show and not on the main broadcast. There looks to be some potential here but it might be awhile before it is ready for action. Mick Foley/Tito Santana vs Kevin Nash/Mr. Fuji (C Rating) ~Mick Foley and Tito Santana defeated Mr. Fuji and Kevin Nash in 5:54 when Mick Foley defeated Kevin Nash by pinfall. Even with the great Mr. Fuji by his side, the young Nash continues to look out of place in the ring and his days in the WWF could be numbered. Foley was solid although slightly unimpressive and Santana continues to put in good work. Lex Luger/Rick Rude vs Eddie Gilbert/Tony Garea (D Rating) ~Total Perfection defeated Garea and Gilbert in 6:31 when Lex Luger defeated Eddie Gilbert by pinfall. Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart came out to the ring with the newly created tag team of Total Perfection. Hart takes the annoying meter up a couple notches and seems to be the perfect manager for this young team. However, Hart's work was the best of anyone and overall the match was poor despite Garea/Gilbert's best efforts to lift the action. Luger/Rude should be a good team in the future but they have alot of dark matches ahead of them before they are ready. --------------------------------------- Main Show: The Steiner Bros vs The Strongbows (C- Rating) ~The show opened with the Steiner Brothers first macth against The Strongbows. The brothers put on a solid effort although the match was carried by the Strongbows who eventually won by pinfall. The post match action turned into a massive brawl as the Steiner's new manager, Jimmy Hart, slapped Miss Elizabeth (Strongbows' Manager) across the face and all hell broke loose. The Steiners are clearly now getting a heel push and this match was a good start for them. Watch what you wish for! (B Rating) ~The cameras go backstage to find Vince McMahon walking toward the ring area when he is suddenly stopped by Pat Patterson. Patterson is angry about the dark match he was forced to work on WWF Challenge and wants a match against a top contender. McMahon agrees to his demands and says he will fight Don Muraco next! Patterson seems pleased and runs off to get ready while the camera just zooms in on Vince who is smiling from ear to ear... A Giant Attack(A Rating) ~As the crowd prepares for the next match the camera again goes backstage to find Andre the Giant in the locker room area. The crowd cheers for the Giant when suddenly Ray "The Crippler" Stevens attacks Andre from behind with a baseball bat. The Giant roars in anger but after several swings of the bat, Stevens is able to chop down the mighty giant. As the crowd boos, Stevens says "Now it is time to get paid. Nothing personal Andy, this was just business." Stevens spits on the Giant as he leaves the room with Andre laid out in a pool of his own blood. Pat Patterson vs Don Muraco(B+ Rating) ~As Patterson heads to the ring for his big match against Muraco his smile quickly turns to a frown as he seems that McMahon has booked him in a steel catch match! McMahon is down ringside holding the door open for Patterson with the waiting Muraco already inside! Patterson and McMahon exchange words briefly and then the action begins. At the end of the match Patterson is almost out the open cage door when McMahon jumps up from his ringside announcing position and slams the doors on Patterson's head! The crowd boos as Don Muraco then steps over the prone body of Pat Patterson to escape and get the victory! Old School has had enough! (B+ Rating) ~The previous segment continues with Vince McMahon congratulating Muraco on his "great" victory when Bruno Sammartino comes down to the ring. He gets right in McMahon's face and finally pushes McMahon to the ground! The crowd cheers as McMahon clearly didn't expect the attack. Vince regains his footing and tell Bruno that he is going to have the same fate as his son because tonight Bruno is facing George "The Animal" Steele and if Bruno loses then he is fired! Bruno lunges at McMahon but Don Muraco sucker punches him from behind and then both McMahon & Muraco put a beating on the old timer Sammartino. Getting Paid (A Rating) ~As the ringside mess is getting cleaned up, the camera goes backstage to find Ray Stevens talking with someone in the back room of the arena. You can't tell who Stevens is talking with but Ray says "I want my money. You wanted someone to take out that Giant and I got it done...now pay me!" After a quick handshake, Stevens takes a briefcase full of cash and exits the area. The segment ends with the mystery man laughing in the background. Bruno Sammartino vs George Steele (B+ Rating) ~This is a tough match for Bruno as George Steele comes down to the ring before Bruno has really even had a chance to recover from his earlier beating. Bruno is actually forced to fight in street clothes and is covered in his own blood. As the match moves forward it appears that Bruno is about to get the pinfall when Vince McMahon comes running down to the ring and distracts the official. However, McMahon's attempt to help Steele fails as the big brute is equally distracted by McMahon's presence and Bruno is able to use a handful of tights to get the pinfall and the victory! Vince is clearly beside himself as Bruno wins and begins taunting him with the crowd cheering wildy in the background! Answering the Challenge (A Rating) ~After a short break, Bob Backlund comes down to the ring while a video replay is shown of him being attacked last show by Jimmy Snuka. Backlund plays up his clean cut/do gooder image to the delight of the crowd before finally demanding a match against Snuka and he says he will put his WWF Heavyweight title on the line to get the match! The crowds' cheers quickly turn to booing as Snuka races out from the back and attacks Backlund in the ring. The fight goes back and forth as both workers take the action from the ring to the backstage area. The crowd is eating it up and clearly wants more! Macho rolls solo (B Rating) ~Backstage Gorilla Moonson is standing with Macho Man Randy Savage who is set to announce his mystery partner for his match tonight against Tony Atlas & Rocky Johnson. Macho Man is decked out in his usual bright colored outfit, bandana, and wild sunglasses. Macho Man: OOOOHHHHHH YEEEEEEAAAAHHH! Macho Man Randy Savage...greatest wrestler in the history of the WWF. Greatest athlete in the history of Sports Entertainment! Atlas...Johnson...you are merely mortals. The Macho Man has defeated you both separately and NOW the Macho Man will defeat you both together! Macho Man Randy Savage will face you both alone tonight because you are only mortals and Macho Man Randy Savage is a god! No ones flys as high...no one soars as far...no one can match the intensity of the greatest living athlete the world has ever seen! Tony Atlas/Rocky Johnson vs Randy Savage (B+ Rating) ~The match is a great one as Macho Man holds his own against the one time WWF Tag Team Champs! There is plenty of heat as things go back and forth until Atlas/Johnson get the win by DQ when the Macho Man decides to jump off the top rope with the ringbell and takes out Rocky Johnson. Complete madness breaks loose after the match and it takes numerous backstage staff members to clear the ring. Vince McMahon plays up the commentary from the announce table as he clearly is giving the Macho Man a huge push. Don't wake a sleeping Giant (B+ Rating) ~As McMahon is leaving the announce table, Andre the Giant suddenly appears from the back and heads toward Vince. Vince appears very uncomfortable as the angry Giant begins demanding a match with Ray Stevens. McMahon quicky makes the match telling Andre that he is up next and that he will send Stevens right out. The segment closes with Andre smiling into the camera as he is clearly out for revenge! Andre the Giant vs Ray Stevens (A* Rating) ~The match was a complete slaughter as Andre tossed Stevens around like a rag doll. You almost had to wonder how Stevens was still alive after a couple of the slams he took from Andre. The whole match Andre is screaming "Who paid you?" before he finally pins the almost lifeless Stevens for the victory. The bell rings but Andre continues to beat on Stevens when a person appears just outside the backstage area. The camera is slightly out of focus so you can not see who it is but clearly Andre realizes that someone is watching him. The house speakers come on and you can hear laughter before everything goes dark and the mystery man disappears as Andre lumbers toward the backstage area! --------------------------------------- WWF In Your Neighborhood Preview: *Tony Atlas/Rocky Johnson vs Steiner Brothers *Big John Studd vs American Bad Ass Mark Calloway *The Fabulous Moolah vs Judy Martin for the WWF Ladies Title *Pedro Morales vs The Iron Shiek *Appearance by Randy "Macho Man" Savage *Announcement by Vince McMahon regarding some of the matches that have been booked for the February PPV: No Way Out ~WWF In Your Neighborhood is a non-televised house show so only results/highlights will be made available~ --------------------------------------- Show Final Rating: A

I like this diary, like mine, well because of WWF. But anyways, bringing talent in early, here's a strategy I use for what I would use for Undertaker and Jericho and the others. Use them mostly for WWF In Your Neighboorhood, and expand your popularity by using them like house shows by going to places with low popularity, i.e. D's E's or F's. That's just my strategy, but it's your dynasty so do whatever you want! That's what a diary is for!

I am currently working to build up my home base popularity so to speak before McMahon decides to conquer the world although I use the In Your Neighborhood much like you suggest. As far as the youngsters go, Taker should be fine but alot of the other young talent like Nash, Triple H, Steve Austin, etc I am finding are just too young and untalented to be pushed right now. Some of those guys are all time favorites of mine but it is tough for me to work them into this diary, however who knows what the future holds. For now I am sure Rick Rude, Lex Luger, Macho Man, Steiner Brothers, and some of the other youngsters will give those old timers like Pat Patterson a run for their money with a little help from Vinnie Mac of course!

Wednesday, Week 4, February 1983 BREAKING NEWS: The WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION (WWF) HAS BROKEN ITS NON-AGGRESSION PACT WITH GEORGIA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING (GCW)! ------------------------- Lets hear from both sides about this major news! ------------------------- Ole Anderson, Gordon Solie, and Jim Barnett are broadcasting live from Georgia with the following message for Vince McMahon: Barnett: This act by Vince McMahon, Jr and the WWF goes against EVERYTHING that the wrestling industry stands for! GCW is not going to stand by while this madman tries to ruin what all of us have worked decades to create. Solie: These actions today show that McMahon and the WWF are attempting to turn an industry that we all love into a circus. This is unacceptable and today Georgia Championship Wrestling declares WAR on the World Wrestling Ferderation! Ole: Not only will we work to drive the WWF out of business, but I will personally be looking for that punk McMahon and when I find him, I will take him out back and give him a beating like his daddy should have given him years ago. The way McMahon treats legends like Pat Patterson, Bruno Sammartino, and really the entire wrestling community is a disgrace. Anyone currently with a WWF contract is welcome to leave the WWF and come to the GCW where they will be treated with respect. Barnett: Finally if McMahon thinks his actions will go unanswered by other NWA members then he is sadly mistaken. Today McMahon is at war with the GCW...but very soon McMahon will be at war with the entire wrestling community and that is a war he can NOT win. Click here to learn more about Georgia Championship Wrestling ------------------------- Vince McMahon, Doc Stevens (me!), Sam Muchnick, and Killer Kowlaski respond to the GCW's statements via tape delay: McMahon: Today there has been a grave misunderstanding between Georgia Championship Wrestling and the World Wrestling Federation. My or should I say, the WWF's only desire was to be able to speak with a couple of GCW employees about opporunities that may exist for them in the WWF. We would have been excited to have those workers appear in both this company and the GCW. However, the GCW and its back woods ownership have wildly overacted by breaking their promotional agreement with the WWF and declaring war on this company. Muchnick: The WWF's response is simple. Our lawyers have begun the process to take legal action against the GCW. We also will pursue their employees and take whoever we want from their roster. It is sad that the GCW has decided to go down this road but the course has been chosen and the WWF will see to its own interests. Kowlaski: Ole Anderson has made some bold statements, statements that he is unable to back up. I suggest that Mr. Anderson remains as far away from Mr. McMahon as possible or I will be forced to get involved. Mr. Anderson does not want me to get involved. McMahon: Again I am sorry to see this situation become what it has but there is nothing I can do at this point. Also as far as involvement from other NWA members is concerned, I assure you that this action between the GCW and the WWF will have no impact on the WWF's standing with the NWA and you can consider us a loyal member who will honor the current regional arrangements forever. As proof of how much the WWF desires to work with other promotions, I am excited to announce that the WWF has signed a working agreement with Stu Hart's Calgary Stampede Wrestling (CSW). Both companies have agreed to share talent and I hope to bring some of the great young talent in CSW to the WWF in the very near future. Segment closes with Vince McMahon smiling and extending his hands in friendship toward the camera. His final words are..."please remember that the WWF only wants the best for the entire wrestling industry and I...ah....I mean we would never do anything selfish or in any other way damaging to this business we all love!"
