WWF Challenge, Week 2, March 1983 WWF Challenge Pittsburgh Civic Center located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Showing Live on TV Cable East 4,721 people are in attendance --------------------------------------- Pre-Show: Total Perfection (Rick Rude/Lex Luger) vs ABA Mark Calloway/Mick Foley (C- Rating) ~Solid dark match to help warm up the crowd. Total Perfection continues their work together as they attempt to make their names as young and upcoming tag team. ABA Mark Calloway hasn’t getting much of a push after his brief feud with Big John Studd but certainly looked good in the ring tonight. Mick Foley appears to have a solid future but is still a work in progress at this point. Calloway got the win after hitting Luger with a pile driver. Al Snow vs Tony Garea vs HBK Shawn Michaels (D Rating) ~Nothing more than a training match as Garea worked the two youngsters over in the ring. Michaels seems to be improving his performance skills but Al Snow just looks like a jobber. Garea got the win over Snow after hitting a bridging back suplex. The Glamour Girls (Judy Martin/Leilani Kai) vs Mae Young/The Fabulous Moolah (C+ Rating) ~Things continue to look bad for the women as they only get dark match time and are not involved in any running storylines. Most outsiders believe that the Women’s Division won’t last much longer and might not even make it to Wrestlemania. The Glamour Girls ended up getting the win in this well worked match. --------------------------------------- Main Show: Patty’s Playhouse featuring Captain Lou Albano (B Rating) ~Pat Patterson begins the evening with his talk show called Patty’s Playhouse. Patterson is dressed up in his “Mr. Rogers Outfit” with a kayfabe neck brace. Patterson was attacked during his first show by the Legion of Doom and appears to still be injured. The show opens by Patterson calling out Captain Lou Albano. Patterson: Captain Lou Albano welcome to the show. You certainly are one of the top managers in the WWF and tonight we want to talk with you and a couple of your top workers. Lets bring out the current WWF Tag Team Champions…Afa & Sika…The Wild Samoans! ~The crowd brings the heat as the heel tag team of Afa/Sika emerges from the back dressed in their usual “native” outfit. The team works the crowd and gets them into a frenzy before Patterson continues the segment. Patterson: You know Captain Lou your boys have had a nice run as Tag Team Champs and really looked to be on a roll until last week when they really struggled in their match against The Strongbows and then got their rear ends handed to them when the Road Warriors cleaned house after the match. Are the Wild Samoans just holding the belts until The Road Warriors feel like taking them away? ~The crowd laughs as Captain Lou is clearly unhappy with Patterson’s statements and the Wild Samoans appear to begin arguing amongst themselves regarding the match and why they lost. Captain Lou quickly jumps in and tries to save face. Albano: First of all Patterson if you think we are going to take anyone dressed like you seriously then you got another thing coming! Secondly, the Legion of Doom, the Strongbows, and heck any other Tag Team in the WWF doesn’t even come close to the Wild Samoans in terms of talent or greatness. As a matter of fact we issue an open challenge to ANY team that thinks they can defeat the WWF Tag Team Champs! ~With that Captain Lou ushers his tag team off the stage and into the back room area before returning to continue the segment with Patterson. Patterson: Well that was certainly a hard hitting answer Captain Lou. Perhaps if you are going to avoid the issue with your tag team then you will be a little more honest regarding Superfly Jimmy Snuka! ~The music kicks in and Jimmy Snuka runs out onto the stage working the crowd. Snuka is dressed in his usual island warrior gimmick and fires up the crowd drawing plenty of heat but also some applause as he is respected by many WWF fans. Patterson: Superfly I want to ask you a few questions? Don’t you think your manager, Captain Lou, cost you the IC Championship Belt AND your match against WWF Heavyweight Champion Bob Backlund? Don’t you think trying to work BOTH of those matches in one night was impossible and don’t you find it odd that Captain Lou actually was paid MORE money after you lost those matches than he would have been paid if you had won both of them? ~The crowd gasps and is clearly shocked by Patterson’s statements! Superfly looks very suspiciously at Captain Lou and appears unhappy about what he has just heard. Again Captain Lou jumps in as he tries to put a spin on Patterson’s questions! Albano: Patterson you have no idea what you are talking about and unless you have proof of this extra payment for Superfly losing then you need to shut your mouth before I shut it for you! And getting those matches for Superfly was nothing short of pure genius on my part. It got him a ton of exposure and now he is headlining Wrestlemania later this month. I think we have had enough of your questions… ~Albano and a reluctant Snuka get up and leave the stage. Clearly this is not what Vince McMahon had in mind when he stuck Patterson on this Talk Show segment. It looks like the wily old timer has found a way to still cause a little mayhem even if he isn’t in the squared circle! Mr. Fuji/Tiger Chung Lee vs The Road Warriors (C Rating) ~This match is almost an exact replay of The Road Warriors vs Garea/Gilbert match as the Warriors utterly destroy Fuji and Chung Lee. The match only lasts 5 minutes as the Warriors finish things off with The Doom’s Day Device being applied to Tiger Chung Lee and then a pin by Road Warrior Hawk. The Warriors continue to beat down their victims until security finally is able to get things under control. The announcers hype up the Road Warriors saying it doesn’t look like anyone in the WWF can stop them! We Want Revenge! (B+ Rating) ~The camera shifts to the backstage area to find Vince McMahon being confronted by Captain Lou Albano who is demanding a match between Jimmy Snuka and Pat Patterson so they can get back at the old timer for what he said on his talk show. Vince refuses to give them the match saying that Patterson is currently banned from working in the ring but instead Snuka will face off tonight against Patterson’s good friend, Bruno Sammartino. While this wasn’t exactly what Albano wants, he leaves somewhat happy that his worker will have the chance to beat down someone tonight. McMahon just smiles, clearly pleased that he has the chance to cause trouble for Sammartino and his crew of old timers. The Champ Calls out Snuka! (B+ Rating) ~A video promo is played of Bob Backlund calling out Jimmy Snuka. Backlund says why wait until Wrestlemania to fight? Backlund wants to face Snuka at the next show, Tuesday Night Titans, and settle this once and for all. The crowd reacts very well to this segment and Backlund is clearly one of the favorites…everyone loves Backlund…well almost everyone… Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs George “The Animal” Steele (B- Rating) ~In a battle of the nicknames, these two guys really give the crowd a show with Roberts taking most of the lead since he is the much more skilled of the two men. Steele doesn’t seem phased by any of Paul Ellering’s antics outside the ring or by the potential of the Legion of Doom running out from the back at any moment. Steele just keeps battling until Ellering grabs Steele’s ankle as Steele was coming off the ropes which causes The Animal to stumble and Roberts is able to catch him with the DDT and the win! In true LOD fashion, Roberts continues to beat down Steele after the match and then shaves the initials L O D into the hairy man’s back! Will this disrespect ever end or has the LOD truly become too powerful to control? Wrestlemania Hype (B+ Rating) ~Another video is played after the match, this time it is Macho Man Randy Savage calling out the team of Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas. Macho talks about how he is going to destroy them once and for all at Wrestlemania and how he is going to end their careers. The video gets a good pop from the audience and the people seem to be really buying into the Macho Man as an egomaniac and as Vince McMahon’s “golden boy” who always gets special treatment from the boss. Ray Stevens vs The Spoiler (A Rating) ~In the first confrontation of the night between a “Vince McMahon worker” and the Legion of Doom it is a pretty even contest. The action is back and forth with Vince McMahon at ringside calling the action. McMahon takes every chance available to slam The Spoiler and slam Georgia Championship Wrestling. The in ring action is just as good as the trash talking. The Spoiler and Ray Stevens are both very large men but The Spoiler has a level of agility rarely seen in a man of his size. The Spoiler displays this agility late in the match as he walks the top rope before delivering a crushing blow to Ray Stevens and giving the sign for his finishing move. As The Spoiler begins to apply The Claw to the downed Ray Stevens, Vince McMahon jumps up calling for the bell! The bell sounds and McMahon gives the win to Stevens via DQ. He says that The Claw is an illegal move and bans The Spoiler from ever using it again! The Spoiler charges McMahon in a fit of rage but sucker punched from behind by Stevens and goes flying out of the ring. McMahon joins Stevens in the middle of the ring and begins to speak to the crowd: McMahon: You know I have to admit that I did underestimate the LOD a little bit and I have to say that I was not prepared to face them last show down in Georgia. But that was then and this is now! From here on out Vince McMahon will NEVER back down from the Legion of Doom or will Vince McMahon stop until the LOD is completely erased from the face of the earth! And on Tuesday Night Titans I strongly suggest that every member of LOD be watching on TV because I am going to make a MAJOR announcement that will impact every single worker in the WWF, especially the Legion of Doom. Oh and by the way…every member of the Legion of Doom is BANNED from Tuesday Night Titans this week and if any of you try to show up I will have armed police officers ready and willing to arrest every stinking one of you ~The segment closes with McMahon slamming down the microphone and taunting The Spoiler! The Spoiler heads to the back yelling at McMahon that he is going to pay for this and you won’t get rid of The LOD that easy! McMahon just laughs as his “No Chance” music plays loudly in the arena with a mixture of cheering and booing from the fans. Main Event Hype (B+ Rating) ~Gorilla Monsoon comes on the air and begins to hype the upcoming main event match between Superfly Jimmy Snuka and Bruno Sammartino. The crowd is still pretty fired up from the last segment and gives the announcement a good response. Gorillla also announces to the TV audience that Vince McMahon is leaving the building and “little Vince” Eric Bischoff will be taking his place in the announce booth. Biscoff greats Gorilla with several insults before the segment ends. LOD Attacks! (B Rating) ~As Vince McMahon and Macho Man Randy Savage are about to get into their limo to exit the arena, the Legion of Doom comes running out and attacks! Jake Roberts, The Spoiler, The Road Warriors, Ax, and Paul Ellering quickly overwhelm the pair of McMahon and Savage beating them to the ground. They then take a couple of baseball bats and smash up the limo. Roberts tells McMahon that you can’t “kill a beast that doesn’t bleed” and that if McMahon shows up at Wrestlemania …he won’t leave the event alive! Jimmy Snuka vs Bruno Sammartino (A Rating) ~The crowd is red hot after the last segment and this match benefits greatly as both workers have their A game tonight! Action is heated and both guys are looking to prove themselves as the countdown to Wrestlemania begins. Snuka also seems pretty fired up after Backlund’s earlier comments although there seems to be a little tension between him and his manager Captain Lou. Snuka goes up to the top rope to finish off Sammartino with a way risk move but Sammartino rolls out of the way at the last minute leaving Snuka with a face full of mat! Captain Lou jumps up to distract the referee hoping to buy his worker some time. Captain Lou swings his cane at Bruno who ducks and Captain Lou knocks out the referee instead! Bruno then chock slams Albano off the ring apron to the floor, leaving the fat man rolling around in pain. Bruno quickly spins around to finish off Snuka but Snuka has regained his feet and catches Bruno with a flying elbow off the middle rope and knocks the big man out. Snuka goes to cover him for the win but the referee is still out cold. Snuka shakes the referee trying to wake him up but when he comes around he quickly calls for the bell giving Bruno Sammartino the win by DQ! Snuka is furious and leaves the ring without helping his manages to the back. Clearly there is “trouble in paradise” as it looks like Captain Lou cost Snuka the match tonight and might have The Superfly thinking more and more about what Patterson said during the opening of the show! --------------------------------------- WWF Tuesday Night Titans Preview: * Major Announcement from Vince McMahon and more news on LOD being banned from Tuesday Night Titans this week * Atlas/Johnson vs The Steiner Brothers * Randy Savage vs The Iron Shiek * Don Muraco vs Tito Santana for the IC Title * The Wild Samoans vs The Strongbows for the WWF Tag Team Titles * Bob Backlund vs Jimmy Snuka for the WWF Heavyweight Title * That’s right, all 3 major WWF titles defended on the same night, don’t miss this one! * Also breaking news that The Road Warrior Animal & Jake "The Snake" Roberts have left the GCW and is now working solely for the WWF! --------------------------------------- Show Final Rating: B+

Tuesday Night Titans, March 1983 Tuesday Night Titans Hofstra Arena located in Hempstead, New York Showing Live on TV Local – Tri State 4,460 people are in attendance --------------------------------------- Pre-Show: Total Perfection (Rick Rude/Lex Luger) vs Al Snow/Mick Foley (D Rating) ~This all “rookie” match was pretty raw from the beginning all the way to the end but did feature a few high risk moves by Mick Foley who seems willing to throw himself off of anything and pretty much will run into anything. Things finally ended when “The Total Package” Lex Luger gets Al Snow to submit via the Torture Rack! The crowd was not overly impressed by any of the action. Tony Garea/Mark Calloway/Eddie Gilbert vs DDP/Tiger Chung Lee/Kevin Nash (C- Rating) ~A solid 6 man tag match with the action being carried by the veterans. Kevin Nash made his first appearance in awhile but still didn’t seem to have a clue how to work a match but he was strong on the ring apron taunting the crowd when he wasn’t wrestling. The match finished with Mark Calloway pile driving DDP and getting the cover for the 3 count and the win. --------------------------------------- Main Show: Backstage Bullying (B Rating) ~Show starts off with Pat Patterson walking backstage and suddenly being confronted by a very angry Captain Lou Albano. Albano threatens Patterson and tells him that what he did on his talk show was a disgrace and that this isn’t settled. Patterson doesn’t seem to intimidated by the overweight Albano and the segment ends with a brief stare down. Rocky Johnson/Tony Atlas vs The Steiner Brothers (C+ Rating) ~Both teams are on a bit of a cold streak as The Steiner Brothers were recently destroyed by The Road Warriors and the team of Johnson/Atlas has had their hands full dealing with Vince McMahon’s golden boy, Randy “Macho Man” Savage. Both teams are on their game tonight and put on a good brawl for the fans. Right when you think the match might end legitimately, Randy Savage comes out of the back and of course Vince McMahon immediately begins praising him on the TV broadcast. Savage begins to taunt Atlas/Johnson and finally jumps up onto the ring apron. Savage takes a swing at Johnson but MISSES and clocks Scott Steiner instead! Rocky Johnson quickly takes advantage of the situation and before anyone can react, Johnson pins Steiner for the win! The match then erupts into a brawl with Johnson/Atlas finally being driven from the ring although The Steiner Brothers do not appear very pleased with Randy Savage’s attempted interference. McMahon keeps the hype machine going the whole time on the TV broadcast and says that Savage is a big part of his announcement later tonight. The Title is Ours! (C Rating) ~Next a video promo plays with the Strongbows calling out the Wild Samoans regarding their WWF Tag Team Title match tonight. The Strongbows don’t have a lot of charisma but the people seem to love them anyway and the video gets a good pop. Golden Boy Speaks (B+ Rating) ~Back in the ring the Macho Man has picked up the microphone and begins to lay down an open challenge to any wrestler in the back to come out and face him. He talks about how he is the greatest wrestler in the history of the business and that NO man can defeat him! Macho throws down the microphone and looks to quickly exit the ring BUT the music speakers suddenly kick on and The Iron Sheik appears! Sheik: Savage you want to make challenge, then Sheik accept challenge! How do you Americans say it...Show Me The Money! ~Macho Man appears shocked by The Sheik’s appearance but the bell sounds and the announcer tells the crowd that Randy Savage is to face The Iron Sheik right now! The crowd cheers in approval as these two heels are about to face off. Randy Savage vs The Iron Sheik (B Rating) ~Despite the lack of a baby face, the crowd really seems to get behind this match as the high flying Randy Savage squares off against the stone cold Iron Sheik. Both men have their moments and it appears The Sheik might actually be setting Savage up for the Camel Clutch when Vince McMahon signals for the referee to come over to speak with him, meanwhile Savage’s manager, Jimmy Hart, tosses a chair up to Savage who catches The Iron Sheik in the back of the head and knocks him out cold. Savage tosses the chair out and goes for the cover just as the referee turns back around. The pin is made…the count is on…and a win for Savage but give a big assist to Jimmy Hart and Vince McMahon on that one. After the match, the other commentators lay into McMahon about his cheating activities but McMahon deflects their claims by saying that he was only trying to make sure the match was “fair” and that the referee understood all of the rules. Vince then gets up and heads to the backstage area saying that he will be back shortly to make his big announcement. More Video Hype (B- Rating) ~Before the start of the next match, a brief video is shown to hype the event. It is a replay of the last match between The Wild Samoans and The Strongbows which includes the interference attack by The Road Warriors. The video gets a solid reaction. The Wild Samoans vs The Strongbows for the WWF Tag Team Title (B Rating) ~Eric Bischoff comes out to work this match in the announce booth and lets the crew know that he will be finishing off the rest of the matches tonight. Neither Gorilla Monsoon nor Lord Alfred Hayes seems overly excited about that thought. Both teams come out to the ring and get a big reaction from the crowd. The Strongbows are dressed in their usual Native American gimmick and the Samoans have the island savages thing going on. The crowd knows that this match should be settled in the ring because the LOD has been banned from the show so for once it should be a clean finish. Unlike their last match, the Wild Samoans take charge from the beginning and really put a hurting on the Strongbows. But the Strongbows show good intestinal fortitude and fight back late to put themselves in a winning position. However, Captain Lou Albano gets into a pushing match with Miss Elizabeth (the Strongbow’s manager) and finally slaps her to the ground! The crowd boos and both of the Strongbows jump out of the ring to attack Albano! From here, the match descends into complete chaos with all four men battling outside of the ring before the referee finally finishes the 10 count and rules the match a couple count out! The Samoans retain the title but when the brawl if over, it looks like The Strongbows got the better of it and the Samoans are left to drag a bleeding Lou Albano to the backstage area. The crowd cheers as the Strongbows celebrate their beat down of the Samoans but there is still plenty of unfinished business as they failed to capture the tag team titles. The Corporation is born (B Rating) ~The arena big screen comes to life and shows Vince McMahon walking down the backstage corridor leading out to the ring. He is followed by 6 men all dressed in business suits and looking very serious about what is to come. The group now appears out before the live attendance and they enter the ring. The group following McMahon includes: Randy “Macho Man” Savage, Ray “The Crippler” Stevens, Superstar Billy Graham, Big John Studd, The Grand Wizard, and Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart. After briefly insulting the crowd, Vince McMahon gets more to the point of the segment. McMahon: The time has come for my big announcement of the evening and as you can see by looking at the men behind me it involves the greatest athletes and business men in the game today. I am announcing the formation of The Corporation! Like any good business man, it is important to diversify and have numerous assets available to handle any number of problems. The Legion Of Doom has shown me that you need a little muscle to lay down the lay once in awhile and my father has shown me that you need a little cunning to out fox the fox from time to time! ~The crowd boos as the new stable stares motionless into the crowd like a machine. This new group appears very formidable and should prove to be a major pain for anyone that gets on the wrong side of Vince McMahon. McMahon: Now as far as the Legion of Doom goes, they have been banned from tonight’s event and that is only because I wanted the chance to make a peaceful announcement regarding The Corporation. After tonight, The Legion of Doom will be back in action although I can assure you that after The Corporation is finished with them, they won’t be that impressive anymore! Also don’t think that I have forgotten Pat Patterson and his old timers. There are still some scores to be settled with those individuals which is why I am announcing tonight that Pedro Morales has been scheduled to face Jake “The Snake” Roberts at Wrestlemania in a Steel Cage Match! If either man fails to show up for ANY reason then they will be fired. Morales thinks it is funny to file a Worker’s Compensation lawsuit against me, well then lets see how funny it is when he is facing Roberts in that Steel Cage! And of course I have no love lost for Roberts, he can’t just threaten my life and get away with it. I honestly don’t expect Roberts to make it to Wrestlemania after The Corporation is finished with him but if he does then he will have a very desperate Morales to deal with! ~The segment ends with McMahon and his goons laughing in the ring and McMahon’s “You Got No Chance” music playing over the loudspeakers. The balance of power appears to be shifting in the WWF or at least it looks like The LOD and The Corporation are on a collision course for control of the WWF. Don Muraco vs Tito Santana for the IC Title (B+ Rating) ~Great match between two strong technical wrestlers. In the end Muraco’s experience and Captain Lou Albano’s cheating ways are just too much for Santana to overcome and Muraco gets the win. After the match Muraco and Albano get into a little bit of an argument over something but Albano settles things down and they exit backstage. It looks like Albano is having trouble on quite a few different fronts and needs to get his house in order before his wrestlers turn on him. The Superstar is Special (B+ Rating) ~Vince McMahon appears on the big screen and hypes up the WWF Heavyweight Title match that is about to take place between Jimmy Snuka and Bob Backlund. He gets the crowd really fired up when he announces that Superstar Billy Graham will be the special guest referee because Vince feels that only Corporation member will be able to control a match of this importance. The crowd boos as McMahon’s image fades from the screen and he wishes both men the best of luck! Bob Backlund vs Jimmy Snuka for the WWF Heavyweight Title (A* Rating) ~Backlund comes out to the ring in a bad mood and immediately gets in the face of the special referee, Superstar Billy Graham. Graham just laughs and tells Backlund that his days as champ are numbered now that The Corporation is running things. Snuka comes out next and he doesn’t seem to think much of Graham either. Manager Lou Albano is yelling at Graham to call it fair and not get involved. The match is a great one as it usually is when these two are involved. Both workers play well off the other and it is an excellent show in the ring. Graham calls things straight and for the most part it is anyone’s match to win or lose. After a brief exchange, Snuka goes for a quick cover on Backlund, he has a handful of tights but Backlund is clearly not hurt and goes to make the kick out…1…2…and Backlund kicks out BUT the bell has sounded! Graham is signaling to the outside official that it was a 3 Count, not a 2 count and Backlund has LOST! The music kicks in for the Superfly and he appears stunned. Backlund is on his knees in pure disbelief as Superstar hands the title to Snuka and raises his hand in victory. Albano jumps into the ring and gives a smile to Graham before congratulating Snuka while the crowd boos. Snuka still seems in shock and knows that Backlund kicked out before the 3 count and that this was NOT the scripted outcome. As Albano and Graham laugh at the disgusted Backlund, Snuka takes the WWF Heavyweight Championship belt and throws it to the ground! Snuka then gets up and exits the ring area…the crowd becomes silent at first and then begins to cheer as they realize that Snuka doesn’t want any part of The Corporation or Lou Albano’s corruption! The broadcast ends with the announcers in a frenzy wondering what will happen with the title belt and how will McMahon respond! --------------------------------------- WWF In Your House: * The Road Warriors have signed an exclusive PPA contract with the WWF * The Iron Sheik has been suspended 1 week for arriving late to the last show (his 2nd offense) * Jake Roberts vs Bruno Sammartino * The Road Warriors vs Randy Savage/Big John Studd * Ax/The Spoiler vs Superstar Billy Graham/Ray Stevens * An exclusive interview with Superfly Jimmy Snuka * Debut of Vince McMahon’s latest signing! --------------------------------------- Show Final Rating: A

WWF In Your House, 2nd Week of March: 1983 WWF In Your House Sumter County Fairgrounds located in Bushnell, Florida Live House Show 350 people are in attendance --------------------------------------- Pre-Show: Tony Garea/Eddie Gilbert/ABA Mark Calloway vs Total Perfection (Rick Rude & Lex Luger)/Mr. Fuji (C- Rating) ~A decent warm up match as all six workers get a turn in the ring to show their stuff. Mr. Fuji is actually pulling double duty tonight as he is scheduled to work later in the main show so he is less active than normal. The match ends with Mr. Fuji getting the pin on Eddie Gilbert after some interference by Rick Rude who then mocks the crowd during the 3 count. George “The Animal” Steele vs HBK Shawn Michaels/Mick Foley (D Rating) ~A rare appearance by George Steele in a dark match although the big brute probably has no idea where this match is positioned in the show. It is pretty much a one sided massacre as Steele destroys the Heartbreak Kid and Mick Foley even though they attempt to double team him most of the match. Steele ends up pinning both men at the same time for the 3 count and then starts tearing apart the turnbuckle covers and throwing the stuffing in the air for no apparent reason. --------------------------------------- Main Show: Snuka wants to earrrrrnnnnn it! (C Rating) ~The show opens up with Jimmy Snuka and his manager, Captain Lou Albano, appearing on the big screen being interviewed off site by Gorilla Monsoon in what is a clearly pre-taped segment. Snuka says that he refuses to acknowledge the match against Backlund at Tuesday Night Titans and will NOT accept the WWF Heavyweight Championship like that! He goes on to say that he wants the originally scheduled match at Wrestlemania with Backlund and that The Corporation better not get involved! Captain Lou interrupts saying that while Snuka isn’t happy about how the Titans match ended, Snuka is still the WWF Champ and will go into the Wrestlemania Match as such and will be paid accordingly! Snuka and Albano then begin to argue and the camera zooms in on Gorilla Monsoon who makes it clear that there is still a lot to be settled before Wrestlemania but it looks like the Snuka/Backlund match is on! LOD In The House Tonight! (C+ Rating) ~The crowd begins to cheer as the entire Legion of Doom stable appears from the back and walks toward the ring. The Road Warriors are scheduled to appear in the first match of the evening and it looks like Jake Roberts, Ax, The Spoiler, and Paul Ellering plan on making sure that everything goes LOD’s way in this match! Randy Savage/Big John Studd vs The Road Warriors (C+ Rating) ~Next out is the Corporation Team of Savage and Studd. They are accompanied by Superstar Billy Graham, Ray Stevens, and manager Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart. There is a big stare down and then the match finally begins with plenty of taunting by sides outside of the ring. On a side note Vince McMahon is NOT at the show tonight and his place in the announce booth (all house shows are at taped to then be sold later on VHS) has been taken by “Little Vince”, Eric Bischoff. The crowd cheers for the The Road Warriors to take apart The Corporation and the match is pretty rough both ways. There doesn’t seem to be any love lost amongst the workers in the ring and the match suffers a bit because of it. As expected things quickly get out of control as Superstar Billy Graham trips Hawk from the outside while Ray Stevens tosses a chair up to Savage who then jumps off the top rope and nails the prone Hawk! The crowd boos and the referee calls for the bell and gives the Road Warriors the win via DQ. It would seem that The Corporation never had any intention of putting up a fair fight as all of their members use steel chairs to clear the ring and taunt the LOD! Both sides exchange insults as the LOD heads to the backstage area. It is unlikely that this is the last time tonight we will see these two stables go at it! New Signings Make An Appearance (B- Rating) ~Next out are Ronnie Garvin and Jerry Stubbs who have just been signed by the WWF. They come out together dressed in an armed forces gimmick with Stubbs waving an American Flag and Garvin waving the state flag of Florida (changes depending on where the show is held). Each man is a seasoned worker and has the ability to put on a great match with almost anyone plus they are both very over in the Southeast which probably has a lot to do with the WWF signing them. They get a great reaction from the crowd who really seem to be buying into their gimmick. Ronnie Garvin/Jerry Stubbs vs Mr. Fuji/Tiger Chung Lee (B Rating) ~The momentum from the early introduction carries over to the match as the team of Garvin & Stubbs is absolutely unstoppable in the ring and put a good show on for the crowd especially when the masterful Mr. Fuji is in the ring. In the end, Garvin uses his “Hands of Stone” punch to stop Tiger Chung Lee dead in his tracks and gets the big win! Garvin/Stubbs celebrate in the ring waving their flags and getting as many cheap pops as they can while the crowd eats it all up. Rude welcome for the new boys! (B- Rating) ~As Garvin/Stubbs finish up their celebration in the ring, their luck suddenly heads South as the entire Legion of Doom stable calmly strolls out to the ring. Roberts briefly insults the pair and questions loyalty to the South saying that they are nothing but Vince McMahon puppets! Garvin tries to deny Roberts’ claims but before he can speak, the LOD jumps the pair and gives them a nasty beat down! There is a mixture of cheers and boos as the crowd is torn between both groups. It looks like if you are not with the LOD then you are against them…there is NO middle ground! Roberts on the microphone (C+ Rating) ~As the bodies of Ronnie Garvin and Jerry Stubbs are hauled from the ring, the Legion of Doom take up position just outside the ring while Jake Roberts gets on the microphone and calls out Bruno Sammartino who he is supposed to face tonight. He tells Sammartino that he is going to put him in the hospital just like he put Bruno’s boyfriend Pedro Morales in the hospital! With that, Bruno Sammartino appears from the backstage area with Pat Patterson at his side. Both men are carrying 2x4s as they walk down to the ring and Bruno joins Roberts inside the squared circle. The bell rings… Jake Roberts vs Bruno Sammartino (C+ Rating) ~Sammartino tosses his 2x4 to Patterson on the outside of the ring and locks up with Roberts. Both men are well schooled in the psychology of the ring and put on the best display of the night by far. There is a real flow to the match with both sides looking good but never at the expense of other worker, this is truly what professional wrestling is all about. Of course all good things eventually come to an end and thanks to a little outside distraction by his LOD stable mates, Roberts is able to catch Sammartino with the DDT and get the victory. The LOD then jumps into the ring and begins to attack the downed Sammartino. Patterson quickly follows them into the ring but is being overwhelmed by the raw number of LOD members when the fans suddenly begin screaming and Pedro Morales comes running out of the back! This is Morales’s first appearance since being hospitalized by the LOD and he is on fire! Morales single handedly clears the ring and makes the save! Roberts screams at Morales that his days are numbered and that he will never make it to Wrestlemania alive! The crowd is going nuts at the unexpected arrival of Morales and the great brawl that just took place. Ax/The Spoiler vs Superstar Billy Graham/Ray Stevens (B+ Rating) ~After a brief break for the audience to catch their breath and for the road crew to get the ring cleaned up, the main event of the evening is ready to begin. First out is the Corporation tag team of Graham and Stevens. Both men are strong on the microphone and promise the crowd that the Corporation will get the win tonight. Next out is Ax and The Spoiler accompanied by manager Paul Ellering. Ellering gets on the microphone and tells the Corporation that tonight they are going to be “downsized”! This match is the exact opposite of the previous match in that rare power is emphasized over technical grace. However, the match is no less enjoyable and perhaps is even more entertaining as both sides continually taunt each other throughout the match. At about the 7 minute mark things finally break down into chaos as workers from both sides run out from the back and resume their earlier brawl that started during The Road Warriors vs Savage/Studd match. The referee is forced to call for the bell and rule that the match is a double disqualification. The show ends with both sides brawling all the way to the backstage area and it would appear that nothing has been settled tonight between The Corporation and LOD…things may actually been even worse between the groups than before the show! --------------------------------------- WWF Challenge Preview: --------------------------------------- Show Final Rating: B

good show, I like you building up the world title belt, instead of just announcing what is going to happen...It should make the payoff even more special I also like how you're giving characters new gimmicks "Garvin & Oates"...It seems weird how they are more over than Sammartino or Snuka. Anyways this is the diary i look most forward to reading, everytime I check in here
...It seems weird how they are more over than Sammartino or Snuka.
It's the regional popularity of the day. Garvin, alas, would have been more well known than Bruno was to the everyday fan in the South East - which was where the show in question was booked. Granted, Bruno is no slouch in the area (he starts there with a C+ popularity, I believe), but his days were waning to the whipper snappers. :) Jerry Stubbs... holy cow! That is a fantastic signing, Doc. I always - and I mean always target him. :) He, too, is a borderline legend in the South East - so he'll help a ton.

Glad you guys are enjoying it. Both Garvin and Stubbs are all about the WWF's push into the Southeast market. Neither guy is worth much in the home base area of the Tri-States but expect to see them everytime the WWF heads to the Southeast! Bruno and Snuka are much more over in general terms and in my "big picture view" but Garvin/Stubbs will surely be huge if I plan on knocking Georgia Championship Wrestling off the block! Also I can't wait to announce that I have become the parent company of GCW...although I don't see that happening for quite awhile. ;)

WWF Challenge, March 1983 WWF Challenge Pizzitola Sports Center located in Providence, Rhode Island Showing Live on TV Cable East 2000 people are in attendance --------------------------------------- Pre-Show: ”Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff vs Total Perfection (Rick Rude & Lex Luger) (D Rating) ~This is Paul’s debut match in the WWF but he is far from a rookie. Orndorff is known as one of the toughest guys in the business and not the kind of person you want to get into an argument with unless you are looking for a rough night in the ring. Orndorff will get his official introduction later tonight during the main show but for now he just settles for beating up the young team of Total Perfection before finally getting the pin on Lex Luger after catching him with a pile driver. Steiner Brothers vs Tony Garea/Eddie Gilbert (D Rating) ~This is a solid training match that has been run numerous times before but it is all new to the live audience at the Pizzitola Sports Center! The Steiner Brothers pull out the win thanks to a little managerial interference by Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart that allows Scott Steiner to force a submission out of Eddie Gilbert using the Steiner Recliner! The match ends with a little brawl between the two teams and the fans seem to be enjoying the action. --------------------------------------- Main Show: Corporate Expansion (C+ Rating) ~Vince McMahon strolls out to the ring and opens up the show by insulting the crowd and talking about how they all work for the man and that HE is the man! Vince then goes on to be a little more specific regarding his appearance tonight: McMahon: In the corporate world it is sometimes necessary to bring in a little help especially if you are planning a hostile takeover or need to break a union! Well in some ways I am dealing with both of those things so tonight let me introduce you to a man that can break any union, can handle any takeover, and can defend any company against employee theft…let me introduce the new head of security for The Corporation…"Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff! ~Paul Orndorff walks out from the back to a mixed reaction. Orndorff is very well known in the Southeast but he is not as well known in the Tri-State area or New England. However, it doesn’t take the crowd long to figure out that Orndorff means business! Orndorff: First of all you worms need to shut your holes and listen to greatness when it speaks. “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff is nothing short of a living legend and his role in the WWF is to eliminate anyone or anything that stands in the way of The Corporation. Right now that means The Legion of Doom and Pat Patterson’s Old Timers have a major target on their backs. And one thing you need to know about Mr. Wonderful is that his aim is dead on every time he pulls the trigger! ~Now the crowd begins to boo as they realize Orndorff is an egomaniac who appears completely under the control of Vince McMahon. How this new “head of security” will impact the war between LOD and The Corporation remains to be seen but clearly there is a new “sheriff” in town! Tag Team Chaos! (B- Rating) ~Next up is a backstage interview of The Strongbows by “Little Vince” Eric Bischoff. The Strongbows have been locked in a feud with the Wild Samoans for the last couple months with the Tag Team Titles changing hands several times. The Strongbows again call out the Wild Samoans demanding a match against them on Tuesday Night Titans. Just as the interview is finishing, the Wild Samoans crash onto the set and attack The Strongbows. You can hear Captain Lou Albano wildly yelling in the background and he tells The Strongbows that if they want a match then they got one! The two teams brawl back and forth as Bischoff says it looks like the Tag Titles will be on the line Tuesday and then he runs off screen in an attempt to save himself from being caught up in the backstage brawl! Tony Atlas/Rocky Johnson vs The Road Warriors (C Rating) ~This match looks to be one of the toughest yet for the red hot tag team of The Road Warriors. However, Atlas/Johnson have been locked in a battle with Macho Man Randy Savage so it is hard to know if they will be fully focused for tonight’s match when they know that Savage could appear at any moment! The fight goes much longer than most Road Warrior matches go and The Road Warriors even look human at times as the old pros are able to work them over just a little bit. Of course that doesn’t last long as Road Warrior manager, Paul Ellering, is able to distract the referee allowing his team to knock out Tony Atlas and then finish off Rocky Johnson with the Doom’s Day Device! By the time the official turns around, Johnson is out cold in the ring with Animal covering him for the win! The Road Warriors finish things off with a quick beat down of Atlas/Johnson who flee the ring immediately and appear a bit distracted. Perhaps the Road Warriors took advantage of a distracted team or perhaps the Road Warriors are just that darn good. There has also been some discussion that Rocky Johnson won't be returning to the WWF once his contract expires at the end of the month but nothing has been confirmed. Savage vs The Spoiler Video Hype (C+ Rating) ~A brief video plays hyping up the next match. Randy Savage and The Spoiler had several run ins at the most recent house show down in Florida and their match should be a good one. Savage brings plenty of high flying, high risk moves while The Spoiler has plenty of size but still is very quick and agile for a big man. It should be anyone’s match to win assuming there is no outside interference! Randy Savage vs The Spoiler (B Rating) ~This is a very good match with plenty of action from the start. Savage’s manager Jimmy Hart gets into it with The Spoiler’s manager Paul Ellering…the outcome is not a good one for Jimmy Hart who ends up in the front row! After tossing Hart into the front row, Paul Ellering gets banned from ringside from the referee although it doesn’t seem to matter since The Spoiler has taken control of the match. However, while the referee is yelling at Ellering to leave, Jimmy Hart pulls himself out of the front row and hands a chair up to Randy Savage who uses it to knockout The Spoiler in the middle of the ring! The official turns back around and Savage quickly makes the cover and gets the win before Paul Ellering can run back to help. After the bell sounds, both Savage and Hart high tail it out of there before any LOD members show up. Looks like The Corporation has pulled off another cheap victory but the final battle has yet to be fought. Got some snake juice for you! (B- Rating) ~Next up is another backstage interview by Eric Bischoff who seems to be getting plenty of airtime tonight. Jake Roberts steps forward to talk about his match against IC Champ Don Muraco later tonight. It is Roberts’ first title shot since joining the WWF and he seems ready for action tonight… Roberts: You know tonight Don Muraco, you are in a very bad spot…you are standing in the way of destiny and destiny is something that no man can deny. I was told by a medicine man that a little “snake juice” can cure anything that woes you but tonight Muraco you are going to face something that no juice can cure…you are facing Jake Roberts…you are facing the night when your dreams are crushed and your title becomes MY title! ~Roberts begins to laugh and then stare dead on into the camera as is becoming his trademark when he is suddenly attacked from behind by Don Muraco! This doesn’t happen very often to the Snake, as the intimidator is back on his heels trying to hold off a mad man! The two men continue to brawl as Muraco is clearly getting the better of it. Roberts finally is run off and Muraco yells into the camera that he is going to break The Snake in half and that there is NO WAY he will be leaving tonight without the title belt around his waist! Pedro Morales Video Hype (A Rating) ~As the ring is being setup for the next match, a video promo is shown of the unexpected return last week by Pedro Morales. The crowd cheers as the old timer is shown cleaning house of the LOD and putting a beating on Jake Roberts. This promo is shown to keep the hype going as the match between Pedro Morales and Jake Roberts at Wrestlemania continues to draw near. Ax vs Bruno Sammartino (B+ Rating) ~This is an interesting match as the two WWF veterans battle it out. Of course Ax has turned his back on the WWF by joining the Legion of Doom but the fans still give me a big response. Bruno is one of the main stays of the Old Timers stable and has been in some very brutal matches over the last couple of months since the invasion of LOD and McMahon’s power trip. Ax finally is able to get the win over Bruno with some help from manager Paul Ellering who trips up Bruno at just the right moment for Ax to catch him with a big power slam and then the three count for the win! Don Muraco vs Jake “The Snake” Roberts for the IC Title (A Rating) ~The most anticipated match of the evening finally begins with a very animated Don Muraco really driving the match as Roberts uses his incredible ring psychology to help tell the story. These two guys are a couple of the best in the business and the match reflects it as the crowd are on the edge of their seats the whole time. Roberts goes for the DDT but Muraco blocks it and is about to catch Roberts with an inverted pile driver when LOD comes running out of the back! The LOD stable swarms the ring and begin to beat down Muraco. The referee calls for the bell and gives the match to Muraco by DQ. Roberts then picks up the referee and tosses him out of the ring before attacking Muraco. Roberts gets on the microphone and tells Muraco that you don’t mess with the LOD unless you want to end up in the hospital as a cripple! The crowd’s booing turns to cheering as the Old Timers stable (Bruno Sammartino, Pat Patterson, Pedro Morales) come running out from the back and begin to brawl with LOD. To make things even crazier, The Corporation (Randy Savage, Big John Studd, Paul Orndorff, Superstar Billy Graham, Ray Stevens) have followed out the Old Timers and now all three stables are in the ring! The show closes with what looks like a battle royal in the ring and the crowd going wild. What a finish! --------------------------------------- Tuesday Night Titans Preview: *Another episode of Patty’s Playhouse hosted by Pat Patterson *The Road Warriors vs Ray Stevens/Big John Studd *Andre the Giant vs Jake “The Snake” Roberts *The Samoans vs The Strongbows for the WWF Tag Team Title *Bob Backlund will also be in action! --------------------------------------- Show Final Rating: B+

Tuesday Night Titans, Week 3, March 1983 Alumni Hall located in New York City, New York Showing Live on TV Local – Tri State 4,648 people are in attendance --------------------------------------- Pre-Show: 10 Man Battle Royal featuring: Al Snow, DDP, Eddie Gilbert, George Steele, Lex Luger, Paul Orndorff, Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner, Mark Calloway, and Tony Garea (C Rating) ~A very solid match that seemed to get the still arriving crowd somewhat excited. Paul Orndorff had a couple good spots especially at the end as he battled against George “The Animal” Steele. George Steele finally got the win by flipping Orndorff over the top rope as Orndorff went for a big running clothesline. Steele celebrated by tearing apart the turnbuckle covers and growling like a wild beast! Sin Bin! (A* Rating) ~Vince McMahon begins his journey into female exploitation with a short video of Miss Elizabeth (manager of the Strongbows). The video shows Miss Elizabeth getting ready for the big match later tonight when The Strongbows suddenly walk into her dressing room! The Strongbows both turn bright red with embarrassment as they cover their eyes although Jules Strongbow is shown peaking through his fingers! The skit is very PG rated but it is still a beginning for a type of entertainment that Vince McMahon will eventually master. --------------------------------------- Main Show: McMahon makes a couple of announcements (B Rating) ~The show opens with Vince McMahon in the announcers’ booth making a couple of announcements that are broadcast over the TV and on the arena’s big screen: McMahon: Since Pedro Morales seems to be so active lately and his injuries have all healed, I think it is time for him to get a warm up match before Wrestlemania so tonight I am scheduling him to face Ax in a steel cage match! That should give Pedro a chance to practice for his match against Jake Roberts at Wrestlemania…just hope something “bad” doesn’t happen to him tonight against Ax! ~The crowd boos as the increasingly power hunger Vince McMahon is clearly attempting to injure one of his enemies by using his power as WWF owner! Gorllia Monsoon begins to question McMahon about whether or not that is a fair match to put Morales in…but McMahon quickly interrupts Monsoon with another announcement: McMahon: And while I am making matches, I don’t want to leave Jake Roberts out so tonight Jake Roberts will face Andre The Giant in the main event of the evening! ~McMahon begins to laugh as he has just put two of his most hated enemies in very difficult situations! McMahon also tells Monsoon and Lord Alfred Hayes that he will be working the announce booth ALL night so just sit back and watch the master at work! Treachery Revealed! (A Rating) ~The opening segment of the evening is Patty’s Playhouse hosted by Pat Patterson. For those unfamiliar with the show it is basically a take off on Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood in which Pat Patterson plays Mr. Rogers and has a guest or two each show. This show was not Pat’s idea and is basically Vince McMahon’s attempt to make Patterson look like a fool but Patterson has done a good job making the show a decently entertaining segment. We join the segment in progress as Patterson is interviewing Jimmy Snuka and manager Lou Albano. Patterson had these two on a couple weeks earlier and it didn’t go well… Patterson: Lets talk about the match between Jimmy Snuka and Bob Backlund. What I want to know is how did it feel Snuka when you realized that your manager, Captain Lou Albano, had paid off Vince McMahon & The Corporation so you could win the WWF Title off Backlund? ~Both Snuka and Albano jump out of their seats! Snuka appears livid and Albano quickly responds: Albano: I warned you once already about this Patterson, if you keep making wild claims without proof then I am gonna have Snuka put a beating on you that you will never forget! Patterson: Well here is the problem Albano, I DO have proof! Not to mention the fact that I have common sense. A member of The Corporation, Superstar Billy Graham, was the guest referee. Every one in the back knows that Graham hates Backlund and has been trying to screw him since he came back to the company. Now combine that with McMahon’s dislike of Backlund and the fact that Graham counted to 3 in the time that it takes most officials to count to 1 and I think it starts to become pretty obvious what happened. ~Snuka begins to look at Albano and doesn’t appear very happy. It is no secret that Snuka and Albano haven’t exactly been seeing eye to eye lately and that Snuka wasn’t exactly pleased with the outcome of his match against Bob Backlund. Snuka: Patterson…you gotta know that The Superfly is a man of honor and The Superfly doesn’t have to buy any title! Superfly will beat Bob Backlund at Wrestlemania and then there will be no more questions. Until then you better just keep your mouth closed unless you want to feel the fury of the Superfly! ~Snuka shoves aside Albano and begins to attack Patterson! Patterson struggles with Snuka but then the crowd begins to cheer as Patterson’s allies, The Old Timers, rush the stage. Pedro Morales, Bruno Sammartino, and The Fabulous Moolah attack Snuka! The segment ends with a wild brawl on the set and Vince McMahon begins laughing in the background as he watches the struggle on stage. Ray Stevens/Big John Studd vs The Road Warriors (C+ Rating) ~The red hot Road Warriors have been on fire since joining the WWF and have won match after match after match! Their hot streak continues versus The Corporation tag team. Despite Vince McMahon’s attempts on the microphone to discredit The Road Warriors, they are nothing short of incredible in the ring and absolutely destroy the team of Stevens/Studd. The Road Warriors finish things off after hitting Ray Stevens with the Doom’s Day Device! After the match The Road Warriors taunt Vince McMahon from the ring and tell him that they are going to tear apart The Corporation and bring the WWF to its knees! Backlund wants revenge (B+ Rating) ~As the ring is being prepared for the next match, Bob Backlund suddenly appears from the back and makes his way to the ringside announcer’s table. He immediately gets in the face of Vince McMahon and begins to scream at him for screwing him out of the WWF Title. The crowd is going wild as both men are now face to face and then Backlund swings a big roundhouse punch catching McMahon right in the face. The two fall to the ground wrestling and all chaos has broken lose! Security finally clears out Bob Backlund and Vince McMahon is back on air promising that Backlund will pay for his attack and that he won’t make it to Wrestlemania in one piece. Randy Savage vs Tito Santana (B+ Rating) ~Just like the previous match, this one is very one sided as Randy Savage runs wild on Tito Santana. Tito really puts Savage over with a great selling job and Macho Man finishes things off with a big splash off the top rope. Savage begins to taunt the tag team of Tony Atlas/Rocky Johnson who he will face at Wrestlemania. Shortly after Savage’s taunting, Atlas/Johnson come running out of the back! Savage seems shocked at the arrival of the tag team and quickly gets out of the ring to avoid a confrontation. Both sides sell the traditional stare down and insult exchange to hype up their future match. The crowd seems to buy it and the segment goes fairly well. Snake Trap (A Rating) ~Next up is a backstage interview of Jake Roberts by Eric Bischoff. Jake Roberts steps forward to talk about his match against Andre the Giant later tonight. Roberts begins to laugh and taunt Andre the Giant about their match. Roberts claims he is going to cut the Giant down to size and how that tonight he will end the oversized Michelin Man’s career! With that Andre the Giant appears from off screen calling for Roberts and rushes the interview area. However, instead of running in fear as you might expect, Roberts just smiles as though this is exactly what he wanted. As Andre nears Roberts, the rest of the Legion of Doom suddenly appears from behind a curtain and attacks Andre! The Giant fights back but is overwhelmed by their numbers and finally falls! The Legion of Doom put a beating on the big man before Jake Roberts spits on Andre and the LOD leaves him in a pool of his own blood. Samoans vs Strongbows Video Hype (B- Rating) ~Now a video promo is playing to hype the next match which is for the WWF Tag Team Championship, however the crowd appears stunned from the attack on Andre and don’t give the video a very big reaction. The Strongbows vs The Wild Samoans (B Rating) ~Yet another strong match in what has become an epic series between these arch rivals. The crowd starts to really get behind the action as both teams seem to be on their game tonight. Chief Jay Strongbow has Sika down and out in the middle of the ring for what appears to be a victory when Captain Lou Albano tosses a steel chair to Afa. Afa then uses the chair to lay out Chief Jay and he does it right in front of the referee. The referee is forced to call for the bell and give the win to the Strongbows via DQ but yet again the Samoans retain their titles! It looks like The Strongbows will never win the titles because Afa/Sika just get themselves DQ’d anytime it looks like they might lose! Angry Giant (B Rating) ~After the match, Andre the Giant appears on the big screen. He is still bleeding and begins to scream almost incoherently that he is going to destroy Jake Roberts tonight in their match. The crowd cheers as this legend of wrestling appears fired up and ready for revenge. The main even should be a good one tonight. Pedro Morales vs Ax in a steel cage match (A* Rating) ~This steel cage match should be a good one as you have two real ring veterans facing off tonight. Ax is the first to enter the ring and is dressed in his usual “power & paint” Road Warrior style gimmick. Morales is out next just in a pair of wrestling tights as he prefers to let his actions do his talking. The match begins and is brutal from the start as both men rough each other up pretty good and do a great job selling the match to the crowd. The end is a very exciting finish as each man is climbing up the side of the catch attempting to jump over the side first. They both reach the top at the same time and begin to scale down the side before letting go and falling to the floor…and the bell sounds…and the winner is…wait the referee is waving his hands in the air. He says that they both hit the floor at the SAME moment and that the match is a draw! The crowd boos as they think that Pedro made it out first and Vince McMahon begins to yell as he thinks Ax clearly hit the floor first! Before both sides can put up much of an argument, the referee heads to the back and the crowd is left wanting more! Andre the Giant vs Jake Roberts (A* Rating) ~The main event of the evening is everything that the crowd was hoping for and then some. It takes a very talented worker to handle the Giant and the Giant displays incredible skill of his own as it is near impossible to sell the fact that someone could last more than 2 seconds in the ring with a monster like him but he pulls it off. The two workers play off each other incredibly well and surprisingly there is no outside interference in this match. It just ends when Andre catches Roberts coming off the ropes and puts a bear hug on him. Andre just continues to squeeze the life out of Roberts before Roberts goes unconscious and Andre gets the win! Andre points at McMahon after the match and begins threatening him, saying that he wants his match against Superstar Billy Graham NOW and that McMahon better stop trying to protect Graham or Andre is going to come after McMahon. The show ends with McMahon telling Andre that he is the boss and Andre will do what McMahon says! The crowd cheers as the big man appears ready to jump out of the ring and attack McMahon…and then the broadcast fades to black. --------------------------------------- WWF Challenge Preview: *Pedro Morales/Bruno Sammartino vs Ax/The Spoiler *Afa/Sika va Superstar Billy Graham/Ray Stevens (Non-Title Match) *Andre The Giant vs Jimmy Snuka (Non-Title Match) *Bob Backlund vs Don Muraco (Non-Title Match) --------------------------------------- Show Final Rating: A
Nice shows. I like how Andrew totally destoryed The Snake. Any news on the war. I also agree 100% About that statement. This Thread is actually in my bookmarks.
Actually several more GCW workers have left that company AND one WWF has betrayed us and signed with GCW (thereby leaving WWF)!!! I will put up a Wrestlemania preview in the next day or two so everyone can get caught up on all of the storylines and I will post who left GCW and who betrayed the WWF!! Thanks for reading and I am glad everyone is enjoying this diary because it is alot of fun to write.

Wrestlemania Preview Wrestlemania Preview I have included a brief update of the background story for each match in case anyone has lost track and then a prediction by WWF Announcers Gorilla Monsoon, Lord Alfred Hayes, and "Little Vince" Eric Bischoff. --------------------------------------- Match: Fatal Fourway Participants: Leliani Kai (Current Champ) vs Mae Young vs The Fabulous Moolah vs Judy Martin Title: WWF Ladies Championship Overview: There hasn’t been much action on the ladies side of things over the past month and many people speculate that this could be the last Ladies Title Match anyone will see in awhile. Not only is the Ladies Title on the line but future employment in the WWF could also be on the line especially if the match doesn’t go over big with the fans. Monsoon: I predict that The Fabulous Moolah will pull this one off. She has all of the experience and knows just when to turn it on. Hayes: I have to agree with you Monsoon! Moolah has been a champion many times over and Wrestlemania will be her time to shine! Bischoff: You two old fools have no idea what you are talking about! Leliani Kai is going to retain her title simply because Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah will probably expire on the way to the show from their nursing homes and Judy Martin just doesn’t have what it takes to be a champion. I guarantee that Leliani will walk away as the champion! --------------------------------------- Match: Steel Cage Match Participants: Pedro Morales vs Jake “The Snake” Roberts Title: None Overview: Both men are looking for some serious payback as Pedro Morales has been one of the few men who has been able to stand up to Jake Roberts and turn the tables on him since Jake Roberts & The Legion of Doom invaded the WWF. Look for some serious bloodshed in this match as neither man’s ego will although nothing short of victory. Monsoon: This match could go either way but I have to stick with Pedro Morales. Pedro is what the WWF stands for even if SOME people think that we need to move in a new direction. I think the old guard will pull it off and teach the Legion of Doom what old school WWF is all about. Hayes: You are so right Gorilla and I love how you think. Pedro is going to teach that upstart Roberts a thing or two about respect, class, and honor at Wrestlemania! Bischoff: Well if you two lovers would shut up for two seconds then you would see that Jake Roberts IS the future of the WWF and I don’t think there is any possible chance of him losing against a low ender like Morales. I am predicting Jake Roberts will win easily! --------------------------------------- Match: No Holds Barred Match Participants: Andre the Giant vs Superstar Billy Graham Title: None Overview: This match goes back to one of the earliest storylines in the diary between Graham and Andre. In short, Graham hired a couple of goons to take out Andre but Andre eventually overcame them and discovered that Graham was behind the whole thing. Andre has been seeking revenge ever since and this feud will finally be decided once and for all at Wrestlemania. Monsoon: I think this match has the potential to be one of the best of the evening. You have the 8th Wonder of the World, Andre the Giant going up against one of the premier Main Eventers in all of the WWF, Superstar Billy Graham. At the end of the day I have to go with Andre because I just don’t see how Graham can possibly pin those monstrous shoulders and get the win. Hayes: Andre is a man amongst boys and I see him finalizing his revenge on Graham at Wrestlemania! I give Graham credit for being a great entertainer but it will take more than a good interview to put away a monster like Andre. Bischoff: Looks like you are both WRONG again! I am starting to wonder if you do goofballs are sharing the same brain or something. Andre has no chance against a living legend like Superstar Billy Graham! Graham is the personification of greatness and at Wrestlemania you will get to see Andre’s career end forever because I don’t think Graham will let him out alive! --------------------------------------- Match: Handicap 2 on 1 Match Participants: Rocky Johnson/Tony Atlas vs Macho Man Randy Savage Title: None Overview: This is one of the longer running feuds in the WWF. Savage joined the WWF several months ago and has been tearing through ever since. He attacked and defeated both Atlas & Johnson in the singles arena, so the two men decided to join together in an attempt to defeat Savage. The feud has gone back and forth over the last month with both sides having their high and low points. This should be a very interesting match to say the least especially since Rocky Johnson is expected to leave the WWF at the end of the month and this might be his last chance to defeat Savage and his last chance to wrestle with his long time tag team partner Tony Atlas. Monsoon: I am really torn on this one. At first you have to think that Atlas/Johnson have every edge imaginable considering it is a 2 on 1 situation and they are one of the top tag teams in the WWF. However, Savage is McMahon’s golden boy and I have a feeling that there could be a little outside influence in this match! Hayes: Well I just have to believe that good will overcome evil in this one and that the Macho Man is finally going to get what he deserves which is a beating at the hands of Atlas and Johnson. Bischoff: Savage will get what he deserves alright…which is a victory! These two bumbling fools in Johnson and Atlas are a disgrace to the WWF and shouldn’t even be allowed to wrestle a match at Wrestlemania! --------------------------------------- Match: 2 on 1 Handicap Match Participants: Pat Patterson vs Ray “The Crippler” Stevens and Vince McMahon, Jr Title: Put up or Shut up on the line! Overview: McMahon and Patterson have been going at it for months now and one man will take a huge lead over the other depending on how this match goes. If Patterson can pull off the win, then he will gain total control of the Patty’s Playhouse talk show and be able to run it anyway he wants, he can even change the name of the show! But if McMahon wins, then Patterson will have to serve as McMahon’s personal butler (24hours a day/7days a week) for the next 30 days and will not be allowed to work a match during that entire time period. Monsoon: WOW! It is really all on the line here and I have to root for Pat Patterson. McMahon is an out of control ego maniac and I can only hope that Patterson finds a way to pull this off but the odds are really stacked against him. Hayes: This match just disgusts me Gorilla. Why can’t McMahon just have the courage to face Pat like a man, one on one and settle things in the ring? Like you said I can only hope Pat overcomes this ridiculous match and puts McMahon in his place once and for all. Bischoff: Patterson has no chance. McMahon is the boss and you NEVER mess with the boss. I think this will be a good lesson for Patty and I hope both of you old timers will learn something too. --------------------------------------- Match: Triple Threat Match Participants: Don Muraco (current champ) vs Ax vs Bruno Sammartino Title: WWF Intercontinental Championship Overview: There is no specific storyline behind this match although all three men have had run ins at one time or another. You do have a member of The Legion of Doom in Ax, a member of The Old Timers in Bruno Sammartino, and a suspected member of The Corporation in Don Muraco although Muraco has never officially stated he was one of McMahon’s boys. This could be one of the most unpredictable matches of the night as all three men truly have a legitimate chance of winning. Monsoon: What a great match this is going to be. I got go with my old buddy Bruno Sammartino although Don Muraco is truly one of the greatest IC Champions in the history of the WWF and could be tough to beat. Ax is also a big powerful man and could end up being the real wildcard in the match! Hayes: While it pains me to say it, I have to pick the champ, Don Muraco to win this match. Muraco is such a strong wrestler and there is a good chance Bruno and Ax could let their personal issues cloud their judgment and that will allow Muraco to pull off the win. Bischoff: Well you know Ax won’t win because he is part of the Legion of Doom and they are the biggest group of losers I have ever seen. Then you have Bruno Sammartino and I believe there is an age limit of 65 to be the champ so he is automatically eliminated. And that leaves only The Magnificent One, Don Muraco who will get the win and continue his run of greatness. --------------------------------------- Match: 1 on 1 Regular Match Participants: Bob Backlund vs Superstar Jimmy Snuka (current champ) Title: WWF Heavyweight Championship Overview: One of the most interesting storylines has involved these two men. Snuka defeated Backlund the last time they faced each other and won the WWF Title. However, that victory was a tainted win at best thanks to the involvement of Vince McMahon and The Corporation. Snuka and Backlund look to settle things for good at Wrestlemania with a clean match and a decisive winner. Also keep in mind that there has been some trouble between Snuka and his manager Lou Albano plus Backlund had a recent confrontation with WWF Owner Vince McMahon so anything is possible in the headline match of Wrestlemania! Monsoon: I just know that Backlund is going to win back the title that was stolen from him and show that tradition and class still means something in the WWF! Hayes: You real hit the nail on the head Monsoon. This is a truly classic match up and I have to admit that I have a lot of respect for how Snuka didn’t just take the title and hide…he knew that his victory was bought & paid for with blood money and now he wants to settle things in the ring. There really can’t be any losers in this match of wrestling icons. Bischoff: Enough of your babbling and your old school thinking. I predict that no matter who wins, they are going to have a short run as champion because The Corporation is an unstoppable force that will bury all old timers with a wave of next generation superstars! --------------------------------------- Final Thoughts: More matches are still to be announced including a match for the WWF Tag Team Championship and even expect a surprise match or two as Wrestlemania looks to be the biggest Sports Entertainment Event in the history of wrestling with over 3 hours of non-stop action! --------------------------------------- Industry News: Georgia Championship Wrestling has had several more workers leave their company including Ronnie Garvin, Mr. Olympia, and Paul Orndorff. Ronnie Garvin was their active National TV Champion at the time of his departature and they have lost the entire Legion of Doom Stable. GCW has made no real headway into replacing their lost workers expect for one signing. They have signed road agent, Sam Muchnick from the WWF! Muchnick has betrayed Vince McMahon, Jr and industry insiders expect that betrayal will not be forgotten. The future looks bleak for the GCW as they are only putting on one live show a month and that event is not getting the same level of ratings as the WWF’s In Your House live show which is being held in the Southeast once a week. GCW is still drawing slightly more people to their shows and has a higher overall popularity in the Southeast but the WWF is gaining fast and the GCW could be on its last legs unless something happens soon. ---------------------------------------
