Taking the LOL out of LOLTNA. Coming soon.

Love it! Be sure to do something with Spud eh? :p

Also I'm seriously considering doing a new, more serious diary while I regroup from the blow of losing my last diary. Maybe WCW or WWE 1997. I dunno, still trying to figure it out...

Send in the clown...

Man, when we discussed DOA a while back I NEVER expected Mainstream to turn out like this. Can't wait for the launch EV! :D

So I'm trying to plan ahead for my SWF diary and although I have a solid plan for the next two big events, I don't know what path I'm going to follow when it comes to the 1980 King of the Squared Circle.

Essentially, I have a few wrestlers that I want to choose as the next King of the Squared Circle, which will catapult them into a World Title feud with whoever is the champion by 1980 Wrestling Classic.

I'm debating between Ray Williams (who is currently locked into a feud with the Pangrazzios), Vladimir Grinkov (who is fairly new to the promotion, but has good in-ring skills and menace which would make him a credible threat), or do I flop back to the easy way out with either Marcus McKing (who hasn't really had a major feud and is over enough to warrant a run at the title) or Micky Starr / Sam Strong winning it and jumping into the title picture.

Although at the end of the day, things change when you're playing this game and you need to kind of roll with the punches, but any opinions would be welcomed :)

Soooooooooo I found out something rather interesting while booking DOA. I love the company (and the product) but I've come to realize that I'm growing really tired of the cornellverse. It's amazing (and my first love) but I'm coming to find that I've booked these same characters way too many times. So, I've thought about venturing into a 'new world'... Well, the real world... ha.

I've ALWAYS wanted to book TNA; try to save them (in a way) and book a real world company in my vision. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but I think it could be a lot of fun (and, more importantly, new for me).

I will be the first to admit that I'm not an avid watcher these days (as I don't have cable). Also, I'm not a die hard over the last decade; so, I don't know the vast history of the company going back to the beginning. That said, I know what I like out of wrestling and I'd love to put that on TNA.

Two quick questions...

What is the best real world pic pack to use?

What font does TNA use for "Impact Wrestling" (Seen above)?

Thank you!

If you're done with DOA (which is the sentiment I'm getting from this post) any chance you can send me the save file and any alts you had in place for it? I'd love to give it a go myself, if that's not overstepping any marks.

After a short discussion I came out with this idea. Unluckily I can't play TEW but I'll hope someone uses this.

He was among the smallest.

"Every know why he was hired. He was cheap." An unknown female, part of a wrestling promotion management.

Fired after years of irrelevance.

"He was a jobber. He is a jobber. He will be a jobber." A rabid wrestling fan.

Drifting around independent small show.

"He's worthless." An unknown indy promoter.

Looking for a stable job.

"Get back to pack paper bags in a grocery store, loser." Another wrestling fan.

He should quit wrestling.

"Or I should go back to my roots." A young man drinking scotch and beer, eating Haggis, neeps and tatties in an undisclosed Scottish pub.

The lost younger step brother of another universe is getting a second chance in his ancestors land.

"Monsters..."

A man in a business suit walks down a corridor, a flickering light casting his silhouette along the floor.

"As far as we frail humans have walked this earth we have been afraid of the things that walk in the dark, the creatures that remind us that for all our progress, for all our advancement, we are not the apex predator on this planet..."

The man steps past a collection of posters, advertising 'ONE NIGHT ONLY! GRUDGE MATCH!'

"For years, I have sought them, collected them, bid them to come to a place of sanctuary where instead of menacing us, they could ply their strength, their skills against one another..."

The man stands on a platform, nodding to someone offscreen. With a great whirring and grinding of gears, the platform begins to rise.

"They come from the annals of history and folklore..."

"...They come from the fringes of society, unable to contain their anger..."

"They come from the next..."

"But no matter where they come from..."

The platform reaches its destination, a stage that overlooks a wrestling ring where two...unique combatants are standing.

"They all arrive at the same place."

And the man finally reveals himself, smiling at the camera.

After my Thunderverse, DIASPORA diary became too much to maintain, I do plan to return to TEW diary writing sometime next year, and have begun to put in place the seeds for a new project.....

You must have had too much sake right?

http://www.edmontonjournal.com/travel/cms/binary/9664955.jpg

It was December 22nd of 2013, and Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods were holding their annual Christmas party for staff and workers. This years outing was the Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku. Which was an 'experience', though most of the Burning Hammer 'family' seemed to enjoy the outing, except for the rookie wrestler Ieyoshi Shimakage who ended up getting knocked out by a man dressed up as a hulked up robot and then ejected from the Robot Restaurant for attempting to cop a feel of one of the show's female performers.

Whilst the Robot Restaurant's bizarre entertainment may have been at the very least interesting, the food was terrible- which defeated the object of the place being called a restaurant. So everyone ended up heading for a nearby izakaya to get something proper to eat. As is always the case whenever we visit these kind of places, everyone ended up having far too much to drink.....

Tasuku Iesada the man who runs the book for Burning Hammer, blurted out that he had now tired of doing the role and that he wanted to just concentrate on his wrestling. Iesada's friend and the man who insisted Iesada-san take on the role of head booker Tadiyuki Kikkawa commented that this was the first he heard of this and that Iesada-san is only say this because he had a little too much to drink and that he will forget about this the next morning.

admitted he was a little drunk, but that his current intoxicated state had given him the courage, to speak up about how he really feels. He told Kikkawa-san that he is not ungrateful for the role he had been given and that he enjoyed his time spent as head booker but it was time for him put his wrestling career first and it was time he handed over the reigns to someone else. Iesada-san mentioned that he had been unselfish as a head booker, something many around the table agreed with.

Kikkawa-san now accepting the fact that his friend Iesada-san was serious, disappeared for a while before returning from where had been, to ask Iesada-san's suggestion about who he feels could replace him. Iesada-san felt it would be a good decision to give it to someone who had been involved with Burning Hammer for a while, but wasn't one of the 'boys'.

I thought they had to be joking right, I thought they would forget about talking me up as taking over the position of head booker the next morning and that once the effects of the copious amounts of beer and sake everyone consumed had worn off that they would surely consider a more qualified candidate to fill Iesada-san's shoes.

As it turns out though, they were being utterly serious, as I got a call the next morning to attend a meeting with Kikkawa-san, Iesada-san and the promotions owner Tetsuzan Kaneko, to discuss what they called an 'opportunity for promotion'.

So as you can see from that I'm going to be returning to an 'old friend'- Burning Hammer. This time round though, I won't be writing up every show in full, as I found that I ended up getting burnt out doing things that way, especially with also maintaining my anime reviews thread I have going on in the Dog Pound.

The plan is very much to book in a realistic Puro manner, with only the kind of shows NJPW (Burning Hammer's real life equivalent of sorts) would run as an iPPV event getting the full write up treatment- which would be the PPV supershows and the 'Road To' shows from Korakuen Hall.

One more preview gem before I properly launch the project (most likely in February) next year........

Here's one of the bio's from the roster dossier that I have created.......

The Incredible Koyama (High Fly Wonder)

Affiliation: P.I.N.K

Hometown: Neyagawa, Osaka, Kansai

Age: 32/ Height: 5ft9/Weight: 178 Ibs

Finishers: Incredible Death Spike (Front Flip Piledriver), Koyama Grip (Kip Up Hurracanrana rolled into a Triangle Choke), Air Koyama (Shooting Star Press)

Signature Moves: Standing Shooting Star Press, Moonsault, Corkscrew Moonsault, Feint Moonsault into a standing Moonsault, Standing Corkscew Moonsault, Frankensteiner, Reverse Frankensteiner, Slingshot Hurracanrana, Bridging Evasion followed by a Roundhouse Kick, Missile Drop Kick, Springboard Dropkick, Dragon Suplex, German Suplex, Brainbuster, Ankle Lock.

BHOTWG Honours: None

Personal Fact: It appears that from as early as kindergarten The Incredible Koyama was destined for either the wrestling ring or a career as a gymnast, because from the Age of 5 he started doing Shooting Star Presses off the top of a jungle gym and into the sandbox.

In Their Words: I come here in a blaze of publicity, THEY even hyped me up as being one of the greatest high flyers of my generation- and then what do they do with me, what do they ****ing do with me, jack ****ing shit that's what.

You know what they ****ing got me doing right now, kissing that ****ing freak Masuko's pink painted arse , going round being his ****ing lackey. I shouldn't be in that face painted freaks ****ing shadow, he should be in my ****ing shadow, because I have a million more times the ****ing talent than that loser or anyone else on this roster does!

Part of me wants to ****ing quit this travesty, but I'm not gonna ****ing do that, because that will show that the ****tards in charge have beaten me the **** down, and I'm sure as hell ain't gonna quit and go begging on my ****ing knees to join that small time ****fest called WLW.

Optimus;Notes: There is no question over the fact that Koyama-san has the talent to succeed, he's an inventive high flyer who also carries himself like a star, but I think he came here after a good run with WLW and expect it to be handed to him on a plate, and that he wouldn't have to put the work in to earn his way to the top of the Junior Division. I'm afraid to say that Koyama-san has had a rude awakening in that regard and he's not taken to it well, often sulking over the fact that he's not been getting his way and it has come out in some of his performances, which have at times been uninspired. There was already one incredibly talented but egotistical prick on this roster in the form of Sensational Dragon, and Koyama-san has found that we don't have the time and patience for another.

That's when he looked over at me, and said:

' In all honesty I think Muro-san could be a good candidate, he's been with us a while now and he from his position at the announce table he see's things from a fans perspective'

_____________________________________________________________

So as you can see from that I'm going to be returning to an 'old friend'- Burning Hammer. This time round though, I won't be writing up every show in full, as I found that I ended up getting burnt out doing things that way, especially with also maintaining my anime reviews thread I have going on in the Dog Pound.

The plan is very much to book in a realistic Puro manner, with only the kind of shows NJPW (Burning Hammer's real life equivalent of sorts) would run as an iPPV event getting the full write up treatment- which would be the PPV supershows and the 'Road To' shows from Korakuen Hall.

_____________________________________________________________

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Cool. I've always been curious about the "proper way" to run a puro company, outside of the generic touring system that TEW runs with.

Well TEW doesn't really allow the Japanese touring system to be replicated 100% accurately. Japanese promotions do tour, but it tends to be on average 2-3 week tours, before then taking another 2-3 weeks off (Though it varies, there is no set time on how long a promotion decides to be touring for, and then has a rest period).

TEW allows for promotions to tour a maximum of 10 months , but a promotion can't tour more than 5 months in a row. I've changed things up to a 10 month calendar- as I will be adding specific shows for the Best of the Super Juniors finals and a G-1 Climax like tournament I've called the Super Grade Cup.

Also much of the minor tour shows (which I'll probably just ended up doing little more than just presenting the results) will consist almost entirely of tag matches, which are the staple of many puro promotions.

PSW ANNOUNCES EXTREME WRESTLING ON THE POP NETWORK!

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/PSW_14/PSW.jpg

With the new year coming upon us, many networks are looking into just what television programs they will be bringing forward. The Pop Network! has announced that it will be moving into the professional wrestling business as it is going to air what has been called Extreme Wrestling. Extreme Wrestling is a television show that is being put on by the Tri State promotion Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling. This show will be put on Wednesday nights going right up against USPW's American Wrestling. Two very different styles of television shows.

Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling is a promotion run by owner Mitch Naess. It has been in existence since July 2007. It was created following the closing of cult favorite DAVE. Mitch Naess, the long-time voice of DAVE, created PSW with a simple concept: repeat the formula but don't fall into the traps that DAVE fell into. The question is, will this be any more successful than DAVE was? Or will PSW fall into the problems of lack of money, talent and other issues that plagued DAVE during it's run.

The Pop Network is a small, cult television network that can be seen throughout the USA and Canada.

...December 2013...

"You don't deserve to win our World title."

For some people, those would be some strong motivating words, especially coming from the man who personally oversaw you signing with his promotion years earlier. In Sam Strong's version of USPW, I had only won the USPW Television title twice. My last reign ended in August 2011. Other than that, I've been thrown in some throw-away feuds and never treated like Sam told me that I would be. When I signed with him, I was told that I would be an immediate World title contender. What I ended up with is a career full of regrets and horrible matches with Peter Valentine. I don't want any regrets to keep me from doing what I know must be done. What must be done is that I need to move on. I need to take a step backward to take a step forward. The past will now become my future.

My name is 'The Hardcore American' Chris Caulfield...

And this is the story of how Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling became my new home...

Another little preview of my upcoming PSW diary. The first segment of the first PSW Extreme Wrestling television show. This is the first rough draft.

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/PSW_14/JohnnyMartin.jpg

[PSW Extreme Wrestling is coming to you live from the Pennsylvania Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The building is packed with fans ready to see the first ever live showing of Extreme Wrestling. A 'PSW' chant fills the arena and inside the ring stand the two announcers for this evening: Mitch Naess and Alex Braun! The camera pans around the crowd for a moment, catching sight of different fans in the arena before it zooms in on the two commentators in the ring.]

[Mitch Naess:] "Good evening everyone and welcome to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Welcome to the Steel City! Welcome to PSW Extreme Wrestling! I'm Mitch Naess alongside Alex Braun and tonight is going to be a night that no one will ever forget as we bring you live wrestling action like we will be doing every single week. Alex, tonight, we are going to have a very interesting main event."

[Alex Braun lifts the microphone to speak but he is immediately cut off by the house music of the Supreme Dream Team. The crowd immediately moves into a chorus of boos as PSW Champion Greg Black and Grandmaster Phunk swagger their way down to the ring. They step inside and Black raises the PSW Championship title belt up in the air. The crowd begins a 'You Suck' chant. Black looks toward the two announcers and then steals the microphone from Braun. Braun eyes him for a moment but lets him have the microphone.]

[Greg Black:] "You two need to shut your mouths. This time is for the PSW Champion and for the Grand Master himself, the Supreme Dream Team. But especially for me because I am the PSW Champion. That means that I am the best wrestler in this [CENSORED]. Since I am the PSW Champion, I cannot believe that I am being forced into a match with a mystery opponent tonight. So, Mitch, I know that you know who I will be facing and you better tell me. Or I am going to mess you up right here and right now."

[black grabs Naess by his jacket and yanks him in closer. He gets right up in the face of the PSW Owner. Alex Braun tries to step in but Grandmaster Phunk moves in and shoves Braun to the mat. Black looks like he is ready to throw a punch. Instead, he releases Naess when the house music for Johnny Martin begins to play. The former DaVE Icon Johnny Martin comes out from the back with a Singapore cane in his right hand. He looks toward the ring for a moment and then waves his hand toward the back. All of the attention turns to the entranceway to find out just who is going to be Johnny Martin's partner this evening.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/PSW_14/ChrisCaulfield_jt.jpg

[it's The Hardcore American Chris Caulfield! Caulfield has not been seen since he was in United States Pro Wrestling! Caulfield has a chair in hand and he nods to Johnny Martin. They charge the ring! The two men slide inside underneath the bottom rope and Caulfield ducks a belt shot from Black and then cracks Black with the chair across the head! Black goes down hard! Grandmaster Phunk takes a couple of cane shots from Johnny Martin before he escapes the ring. Black joins him outside the ring, staring up into the ring where Chris Caulfield raises his chair in victory. Johnny Martin raises the cane as the two men stand tall. Mitch Naess and Alex Braun head to the commentary area.]

Bad news - Looks like Nicky Champion's adventures in the SWF may be coming to an end. :( Try as I may to get myself invested in the project again, it sadly became too much to handle.

Good news - Thinking of starting from scratch for the new year, but probably not in SWF. My idea is to write a backstage story with multiple POVs (not unlike how George R.R. Martin writes his Song of Ice and Fire books), while telling simpler, shorter, yet meaningful in-ring stories that won't take up much of my time.

Will fill you all in on the details once I've got everything sorted. :)

EDIT - Scratch that! The Nicky/SWF diary is pushing forward after all. But I may be saving this plan for the next version of TEW.

I wanted to come in here and get everyone's opinion on an idea I've had for a dynasty. I've started writing it briefly in the past and stopped to just play the game, but my urge to write has become to great to ignore.

The idea I have, in general, is that of Aaron Andrews getting himself into trouble with TCW, not being re-newed and left to the unemployment line. He cannot find regular work with anyone else due to his attitude problems and reaches out to three best friends; Cameron Vessey, Casey Valentine and Davis Ditterich for support. Cam and Casey have been having their own issues with their current employers and the four of them decide that wrestling needs a youth movement, and band together to open their own company.

Would editing the database to the lengths needed to band these four together be too unbelievable? Would it be too much of a stretch to deter any of you from reading? I'd appreciate any feedback you guys could provide so I can begin looking in a different direction or moving forward with this.

Thanks.

Crazier things have happened in real life. ;)

I don't think it's out of the realm of what's possible because, in reality, anything is possible in life. Do I see these guys banding together for a youth movement of sorts? Possibly. Do I see them banding together because they are sick and tired of being held down/told what to do/pushed around in a difficult industry? Yea. I could see any wrestler banding with other friends and, after a long conversation that boils into a fevered pitch, eventually come up with a crazy idea to 'take on the world'.

I would think the company would need to be really small though; think PWG. You probably wouldn't have a TV deal in place (unless you had someone with a bigger name heading the place up).

I say, if the story seems fun for you to write then go for it! :) I'll swing in and give it a read when I can.

Nope not at all. The way I see it is that it will be based on a fictional universe so why can't something like this happen. I say go for it.
