<p>Ricky wrestled his sister-in-law to train his submission techniques? I hope Jack isn't the possessive or jealous type.</p><p> </p><p>

Will Stevie Pay? Bobby Thomas (7) <strong>vs</strong> Stevie Grayson (4) <em>Will Stevie pay? Not the money, I think. The question is whether he'll pay for not paying. (?) I think not, for this time. Not paying will pay off for him.</em></p><p>

Former Allies Fight! <strong>Nate Johnson (5)</strong> vs Sean Deeley (9) <em>A loss here will put Nate too far behind his rival, I think. They should be relatively close in points in the end.</em></p><p>

Another Match! <strong>Pow Wow The Clown (5)</strong> vs Ricky DeColt (9) <em>A submission win here will put Pow Wow in good position to chase Ricky and Deeley for 1st runner-up! Go Pow Wow!</em></p><p>

Top of the Table Clash! Trent Shaffer (10) <strong>vs</strong> Zeus Maxmillion (10) <em>I think keeping tied leaders on top when we're this close to the end makes for good suspense.</em></p><p>

Good Clean Fun! <strong>John McClean (8)</strong> vs Whippy The Clown (4) <strong>Good clean fun and a good clean win.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> “Years ago they went their separate ways, but tonight Thrill Seeker and Shane Nelson reunite as ‘Prime Energy’. Will they rediscover the old magic against the Dirty White Boys tonight?”</em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>Catherine Quine</strong></em><em> “And we have two more all important Ultimate Showdown Series matches, with the pressure on the former tag team champions. Can Stevie make it out of the firing zone? Can an injured Zeus hold on to his lead? Let’s ask Ricky DeColt!”</em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>Ricky DeColt </strong></em><em>“Short answer: No clue. Longer answer: They’re up against two of the biggest cheaters in the Ultimate Showdown Series. It’ll be tough.”</em></p><p> </p><p>

I can’t sleep. She whispers to me in my dreams. Whenever I close</p><p>

my eyes, I can hear my one true love calling to me. The CGC World</p><p>

Title wants to be with me- She belongs with me. With every win in </p><p>

the Ultimate Showdown Series I draw closer and closer to my three</p><p>

wishes. Closer and closer to using those wishes to finally be with </p><p>

my one true love. </p><p> </p><p>

Zeus Maxmillion. You’re not immortal any more. Your achilles</p><p>

ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN SERIES</p><p> </p><p>

7pts - <strong>BOBBY THOMAS VS STEVIE GRAYSON</strong> - 4pts</p><p>

<span>http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/BobbyThomas_zpsf9452892.jpg</span><span>http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/VS2_zpsf88031f9.jpg</span><span>http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/StevieGrayson_zps673dbffd.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

<em><strong>Ricky DeColt</strong></em><em> “Bobby Thomas has offered to let Stevie get a draw here, for a price. He made the same offer to me, but I think Stevie can get at least two points if he just goes into ass-kicking mode.”</em></p><p> </p><p>

Thomas holds out his hand expectedly, but Stevie turns out his empty pockets, looking sad. The bell rings!</p><p> </p><p>

Stevie peppers him with hit and run tactics until he gets wiped out with a High Knee strike. Thomas works over his arm in a methodical, business-like fashion, looking for the submission victory, until Stevie dodges, ducks, dips, dives, dodges- Tornado DDT!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/PowWowTheClownS_zps5b87d7eb.jpg</span><span>http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/NateJohnson_S_zpsb3248f4f.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

POW WOW THE CLOWN suddenly climbs onto the apron, distracting referee Francis Long and allowing NATE JOHNSON to slide into the ring and wipe Stevie out with Natural Order (Leg Lariat). Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, Bobby Thomas makes the pin. </p><p> </p><p>

JENNY PLAYMATE interviews NATE JOHNSON and POW WOW THE CLOWN.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>JENNY PLAYMATE</p><p>

Nate. Pow Wow. You just attacked Stevie Grayson and helped Bobby</p><p>

Thomas pick up two points, so I guess I only have one question...</p><p>

What the hell?</p><p> </p><p>

NATE JOHNSON</p><p>

Survival, Jenny. That’s “the hell”. This has nothing to do with Bobby</p><p>

Thomas. This is about the looming threat in the Ultimate Showdown </p><p>

Series. Whoever comes last, gets fired. The rules have conspired</p><p>

against us in this series, time limits, clown pants, but we’re making</p><p>

damn sure we’re not going to lose our spots here in CGC.</p><p> </p><p>

POW WOW THE CLOWN</p><p>

We could turn on each other, or we could unite. Common enemies. </p><p>

Stevie Grayson and Whippy The Clown both have less points than</p><p>

us, and as long as things stay that way, we have nothing to worry </p><p>

aboat.</p><p> </p><p>

PRIME ENERGY</strong></p><p>

Shane Nelson & Thrill Seeker</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> “Who can stop the terrifying team of Soothsayer and Poison? Perhaps it’ll be the reunited Youth... sorry... “Prime” Energy.”</em></p><p> </p><p>

Nelson and Seeker outmaneuver their larger opponents and rock them with dropkicks, until a miscommunication leaves Nelson open to a Lead-Belly-Butt. The Dirty White Boys isolate him with drunken thuggery, until Hogg misses Grease Spot (Knee Strike) and Nelson makes the tag! Thrill Seeker runs wild with innovative kicks and quickly tags Nelson back in for some classic Youth Energy moves. Energy Rush (Kick Combo) Thrillzone(Wheelbarrow/Fame Asser Combo)! Double Daredevils (Leg Drop/Splash Combo). 1... 2... 3!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>YOUR WINNERS... PRIME ENERGY (10:23)</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Shane Nelson and Thrill Seeker celebrate. Strange Chimes alert them to the presence of SOOTHSAYER and POISON on the ramp, watching them.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>SOOTHSAYER </p><p>

You think you can stop the future by returning to the past? You’ll fail.</p><p>

By our hands you’ll be washed away in the sands of time. Next week</p><p>

<em>His opponent. Standing 6’4. Weighing 272lbs. Hailing from Mount</em></p><p><em>

<strong>ZEUS MAXMILLION</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>Ricky DeColt</strong></em><em> “Zeus Maxmillion was unstoppable for the first half of the series, but since Sean Deeley injured his arm he's suffered two submission losses in a row. You can probably guess what Trent Shaffer's going to target.”</em></p><p> </p><p>

Trent indeed goes directly for the arm. Zeus fends him off with strikes, but without his trademark left he doesn't do much damage. Plus Trent is fast. Scary fast. Dropkicking Zeus right in the elbow and targeting it with stomps and elbow strikes. He goes for Heart Burn (Double Stomp) on the arm, but Zeus moves! Summoning goldike strength, Zeus hurls the Sparkling Vampire around with hiptosses and right-handed throws. He goes for Thunder Bolt, but Trent counters with a Fujiwara Armbar. Roaring in pain, Zeus refuses to tap.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>“One Minute Remaining”</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Frustrated, removes a turnbuckle pad, forcing Referee Jonathan Taylor to turn his back on the action to fix it. Zeus ducks the handful of glitter and hits a Twisting Spinebuster, but there’s no one to count the pin. Zeus goes to fetch the referee, but Trent hits a low blow. Roll up! 1... 2... 3!</p><p> </p><p>

Usually I have these episodes wrapped up and formatted at least the day before, so I can quickly post them, head off on my usual Monday/Thursday escapades, then return to a nice batch of predictions to laugh/get angry at. For some reason, this episode was left ridiculously unfinished. Confused plotlines. Old ideas not removed. I rewrote a lot of the second half of the Series quite recently, for reasons I no longer remember. I’m now late for the gym. I’ll never get that DeColt physique at this rate.</p><p> </p><p>

Trent Shaffer did not have a very good night. Perhaps folks are tiring of Twilight references, right as I remember I enjoy writing his promos. TV rating’s are up though. I’ve never really paid attention to those. I almost feel like there’s no real relevance to them in TEW. Perhaps correctly. Perhaps WWE pay them too much attention. </p><p> </p><p>

Prediction tables are... I’ll get to it before it’s all over.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>I'm wondering why Nate didn't just cause a DQ in the Whippy/McClean match. He wants to stop Whippy winning points, but DQ winners don't get points so he can achieve that and stick it to his rival at the same time if he gets McClean DQed. Or he can get Whippy DQed and make sure he stays at the bottom.</p><p> </p><p>

Althoughof course, I guess whomever he screws can do the same back to him. Maybe that's why...</p><p> </p><p>

Actually, what happens if there are tied winners (or losers)? Do they both get the reward/punishment?</p><p> </p><p>

This being the penultimate week, I'm guessing there won't be too much changes in the positions. The winners keep winning and the losers keep losing to keep the current trend going into the final round. Zeus needs to maintain his position close to the top to look like he still has a shot (so that his failure will be all the more heart-breaking). Ricky likewise remains close to the top so that a possible submission win (or lack thereof) in the final round will either make or break him. Nate Johnson remains near the bottom so that his plots against the other bottom-tier guys will continue, and so on.</p>

<p>In the Ultimate Showdown Series, the referees decision is final, and while the referees in CGC can make regrettable mistakes (Jonathon Taylor must be kicking himself watching replays of Trent Shaffer matches) they're fairly intelligent guys, and I'm sure they'd be able to judge the <em>intention</em> of what they're seeing. Nate Johnson running in during another Ultimate Showdown Series match… it would be fairly clear his intention, even with animosity towards McClean, and I think Nate Johnson would be the one to suffer, while McClean/Whippy would be treated as a tie, or perhaps a No Contest (in which case, a rematch would occur) depending on the referee's decision at the time. Which, again, is final.</p><p> </p><p>

In case of tied points, tiebreaker matches will occur at the Ultimate Showdown PPV. Only one man gets three wishes. Only one man gets fired.</p>

A lot of you getting tripped up on the 'In The Company Of Legends' PPV and the following television, which turned out to be an hour-long upset-a-thon. Several of you have kept faith in Zeus too, after his injury. Expecting him to pull back even after several tap outs. I don't think any ties have been accurately predicted either. The Ultimate Showdown Series has so far been predicted with 50.72% accuracy.</p>

Saskatoon Bowl, The Prairies

Sunday Week 2 July 2013

4,400 in attendance

Davis Ditterich “They beat the Dirty White Boys, but can the reunited Prime Energy defeat the increasingly dangerous Soothsayer and Poison. We’ll find out tonight.”

Catherine Quine “Plus, there are just a handful of Ultimate Showdown Series matches remaining. Zeus Maxmillion once had a mighty lead, but a loss tonight against Bobby Thomas would spell the end of his Ultimate Showdown Series hopes.”

Nate Johnson “I hope he gets tapped out. Again. Hi. I’m Nate Johnson. No additives. No preservatives. 100% all natural. Available for any and all sponsorships and endorsement deals.”

ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN SERIES

5pts - POW WOW THE CLOWN VS JOHN McCLEAN - 11pts

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/PowWowTheClown_zps9ac1baf0.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/VS2_zpsf88031f9.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SqueekyMcClean_zps2c914017.jpg

Nate Johnson “Pow Wow and I have teamed up to make sure neither of us come in last in the Series, and I have half a mind to help him take on this jerk John McClean”

McClean calmly controls the sad clown on the ground, twisting him, turning him, even riding him like a horsey. Pow Wow goes for the hair and eyes, but is no match for smooth technical wizardry. Neckbreaker! Face Wash! McClean McMount (Neck Wrench Camel Clutch).

EARNING THREE POINTS VIA SUBMISSION

JOHN McCLEAN (6:18)

Nate Johnson “I would have helped, but... you know... If Pow Wow got points, then... Who else got points this week, Davis?”

STEVIE GRAYSON ducks, dips, dives and dodges but gets caught with an epic dropkick. RICKY DECOLT momentarily considers a submission, but seeing only seconds remaining, pins him with DeColt 45 (Roll Inverted DDT) instead (Ricky DeColt earns 2 points)

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/NateJohnson_S_zpsb3248f4f.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/VS2S_zps2960baea.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/TrentShaffer_S_zps6a64c2b4.jpg

Both men stomp each other in the toes. Both men poke each other in the eyes. Both men go for the hair, but only NATE JOHNSON is successful. Nate smiles for the cameras, but TRENT SHAFFER grabs the ref, and covertly mule kicks Johnson in the nuts. 1... 2... 3! (Trent Shaffer earns 2 points)

WHIPPY THE CLOWN climbs up for a Clownsault, but Adrian Garcia shakes the ropes. Avalanche German! SEAN DEELEY locks in the Seated Arm Stretch! Whippy taps! (Sean Deeley earns 3 points)

JOHN McCLEAN neatly folds away his wrestling gear. TRENT SHAFFER spies on him.

TRENT SHAFFER

She's close now. I can almost feel her. The Ultimate Showdown Series

is within my grasp, and with those three wishes I'll finally be able to be

with my one true love; the CGC Title. Alex DeColt shouldn't be hiding

from Poison. He should be hiding from me. Only one man stands in

my way. John McClean. The whitest of white knights. His time is done.

The world wants monsters now. At 'Ultimate Showdown' The World's

Most Dangerous Predator will make Squeaky Clean his prey, and-

JOHN McCLEAN

Oh will you now? What would you know about prey? Besides what

you've seen on television, I mean? You want to know the difference

between you and me, Trent? Life experience. Whereas you've spent

your life basing your persona around what's "cool" and stealing lines

from movies, I've been out there. I've hunted lions in Africa. I've

grappled bears. I'm a grown man, and you're just a punk kid.

TRENT SHAFFER

I'm an old soul.

JOHN McCLEAN

You’re a child playing pretend in the world of men, and at ‘Ultimate

Showdown’ I’m going to show you up for the little boy that you are.

THE FUTURE

PRIME ENERGY

Shane Nelson & Thrill Seeker

Davis Ditterich “Soothsayer and Poison are one of the most dominant duos I’ve ever seen. Who can stop them? Perhaps it’ll be the reunited “Prime” Energy.”

Prime Energy effortlessly initiate smooth double team attacks, but nothing seems to work against Poison. Unfazed, unfeeling, he takes them apart with right hands. Soothsayer directs traffic, stopping any and all comebacks with an almost supernatural ability to know what Seeker & Nelson are going to do. Poison Mist! Seeker is blind! Overhead kick to Nelson. Ripcord Lariat! Harbinger (Flying Flip Neckbreaker)! 1... 2... 3!

YOUR WINNERS... SOOTHSAYER & POISON (10:13)

Following Soothsayer’s orders, Poison advances on the destroyed Nelson & Seeker.

WHO RULE?

DECOLT RULE!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/AlexDeColt_S_zps33bed42d.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/JackDeColt_S_zps1871a9cd.jpg

ALEX and JACK DECOLT sprint down to the ring. Poison stands his ground, staring at the brothers with cold, dead eyes, but Soothsayer bails and commands he follow.

ALEX DECOLT

This is the future, Soothsayer? You and your drugged up friend taking

people out? If this is what you’ve got in store for CGC, I'm afraid these

'relics of the past' are going to have to step back into the present. This

isn't some post-apocalyptic wasteland where the bad guys run the

show. This is DECOLT COUNTRY! And the DeColts are back!

JACK DECOLT

Doctors say Alex still has a concussion! They say my hand needs

more time to heal! You know what??? We're going to listen. We're

going to give ourselves.... five days to recover. Which gives you

five days to kiss your asses goodbye, because at ‘Ultimate

Showdown’ we’re coming for you. Soothsayer and Poison against

Alex and Jack DeColt. What do you say???

SOOTHSAYER

Your words do not shock me, DeColts. I saw this future long ago. I

knew you would return, and I knew you would foolishly think you can

fight the future. We accept. At ‘Ultimate Showdown’, prepare

to be washed away by the sands of time.

His opponent. Standing 6’4. Weighing 272lbs. Hailing from Mount

Olympus. Currently on 10 points. “The Bronzed God”

ZEUS MAXMILLION

Davis Ditterich "Now that Sean Deeley has 15 points, this is a make or break match. The winner stays in contention to win the Ultimate Showdown Series. The loser has no chance."

Nate Johnson "Zeus had a good start, can’t argue there, but he’s lost three times in a row thanks to an elbow injury, and Bobby Thomas knows how to attack an arm like nobody's business."

Bobby Thomas jumps him from behind, immediately working over the arm in a methodical, business-like fashion. Zeus repeatedly battles back with rights, but they lack the power of his lefts, allowing Bobby to cut him off with knee strikes and go right back to the arm. He starts to apply a Scissored Keylock, but Zeus powers out of it, and hurls his opponent across the ring with hiptosses and right-handed throws. He goes for a spear, but eats a knee lift and gets caught in the Scissored Keylock.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SStevie_zpsb153cafb.jpg

Zeus roars in pain, and is on the verge of tapping when he sees STEVIE GRAYSON cheerleading on the outside. Zeus makes one more fight for freedom, raining down punches until Bobby lets go. Twisting Spinebuster! Thunder Bolt (Sit Out Bomb)! Olympian Clutch (Camel Clutch)! Bobby struggles and struggles and taps!

EARNING 3 POINTS VIA SUBMISSION

ZEUS MAXMILLION (8:52)

Davis Ditterich “Zeus Maxmillion has overcome the odds. Despite the injury he still has a chance to win the Ultimate Showdown Series.”

Catherine Quine “So do a lot of people. Sean Deeley. John McClean. Trent Shaffer. Ricky DeColt. Who will win the wishes? We find out this Friday! Live of PPV!”

ADRIAN GARCIA

Bobby, Bobby, Bobby. Loving your attitude towards this silly Ultimate

Showdown Series thing. It’s like music to my ears. Tell you what. You’re

God damn it, Pow Wow. Be a professional.

Some unexpectedly low ratings in recent weeks, and I’m putting the blame on gimmicks. Running two shows a week seems to be making fans grow tired of certain characters very quickly (can’t argue with that) so I think after the Ultimate Showdown Series is over I’ll be putting a stop to the extra show. Frankly, finding main events for them is a chore, no matter how much I’m enjoying giving Donte Dunn and The Predators stuff to do. The highlights segments are also fun (more matches, less writing?) so they may continue where appropriate. Pre-show dark matches are still a thing, after all.

Which, again, is final.

Referees with brains? That's, like, blasphemy! Being half-blind, half-deaf, half-witted and having the fragility of a glass statue is, like, the minimum basic professional qualification for all pro-wrestling referees! >.>

An offer he can’t refuse? Bobby Thomas (9) vs Sean Deeley (15) This is a tough one. Bobby has no chance of winning the series now so I don't see why he'd refuse the offer. On the other hand, if Deeley gets his 3 points here, the babyfaces would have no chance of catching up with him. The only way to maintain the suspense would be for this match to be the last match......but I doubt the series will end with a heel vs heel match. I think the very last match would be Ricky vs Zeus (which I guess destroys my original prediction that a heel will win the series), so Deeley would have to lose or draw this for the series to not be a foregone conclusion.

Bottom of the Barrel Brawl! Nate Johnson (5) vs Stevie Grayson (4) I.....don't fore-see a tiebreaker match for the ultimate loser. And since I want Pow Wow to not get fired, the most straight-forward way to having a single loser would be for Grayson to advance here and leave Whippy as the guy with the lowest points.

Firing Zone Fight! Pow Wow The Clown (5) vs Whippy The Clown (4) Please don't let Pow Wow be fired!

Age versus Beauty! Trent Shaffer (14) vs John McClean (14) A win for either guy means he'll be in the lead (since I predict Deeley to not get the points. A heel being in the lead makes for bigger drama when Ricky and Zeus go for their last-ditch effort to gain a submission win in order to catch up, so I vote for Shaffer. Although I will not be surprise if they draw and Deeley remains in the lead (which eliminates the need for a tiebreaker match after Ricky or Zeus wins)

A Fifth Match! Ricky DeColt (13) vs Zeus Maxmillion (13) Going by my previous predictions, this can't end in a tie. One of the top faces will either win the series or go into tiebreaker. Since my predictions hinge on both of these guys needing a submission to stay in the series......well, for me, Ricky's story itself is based on whether he can win via submission. Once he succeeds, the story is over, and the tiebreaker match after that becomes an anti-climatic epiloque. So my vote goes to Zeus.

Actually, I see 2 possible paths: Traffer winning and taking the lead, and Zeus catching up and going into tiebreaker.....OR, Shaffer draws with McClean, Deeley remains in the lead, and Ricky wins via submission to win the series. But the ones I bolded above will be my official pick. Because I'm a Zeus mark. And also because I originally picked Shaffer to win.

Plus...

Soothsayer & Poison vs Alex & Jack DeColt A win over the champ to build up another future title match.

Have to say, this has to be the first diary I've read in which ALL the champions of the company are off TV for this long. Make no mistake, I've enjoyed the series a lot, but I'm also starting to miss the champions. Especially Christian Price. This is not a complaint, but more of an expression of my anticipation for the future now that you can finally afford some screen-time for them. :)
