The main event underperformed. Perhaps the wrestlers aren't as talented as their pushes suggest. Perhaps lack of tag experience played a part. Perhaps the fact that three of them are undersized (you know, compared to DeColts) played a part. Still, it was a perfectly fine match, and their opening promo pulled the show up to my typical B- rating. May be worth noting that for the second week in a row, DeColt vs Prospect got match of the night. In other news, someone got suspended at this show.

I'd answer some comments, but they're mostly about Trent and I'm frankly sick of him. If I had a Royal Rumble coming up I'd have half a mind to job him out in a 20-minute barnstormer of an opening.

The card for next week's show. The last one before Chamber of Horrors.

Almighty Zeus vs Christian Price

El Eet vs Alex DeColt

Ozzie Golden & Warren Technique vs Jack DeColt & Donte Dunn

A very happy RICKY DECOLT makes his way to the ring, carrying the vial of magic potion.

RICKY DECOLT

At ‘Apocalypse’, Soothsayer took something from me. Now I’ve taken

something from him. For eight months, he has used this potion to

change the face of Canadian Golden Combat. It gave Joey Poison the

power to become Champion. It gave Zeus the power to lock the DeColt

Family out of the title picture. Now the power is in my hands, and I intend

to use it. At ‘Chamber of Horrors’ I’m going to give Soothsayer a taste

of his own medicine. I’m going to drink this potion and finally put and end

to him. I...

ALEX and JACK DECOLT come down to ringside and approach their brother, cautiously.

ALEX DECOLT

Hold on a second, Ricky. Think about what you’re saying. That potion

has given people great power, yes, but it’s turned them into monsters.

Joey Poison has gone from an honorable man to a snake that hides in

the shadows, paranoid and cowardly and dependent on that potion.

What if the same happens to you? It’s not worth it. It would change you.

RICKY DECOLT

Maybe I need to change! This year I’ve been beaten down time and time

again. I’ve fallen at every obstacle. Stumbled at every finish line. Besides,

maybe the potion won’t do to me what it did to Joey. I’m stronger than he

was. Maybe it’ll be like Zeus. Maybe it’ll just unleash my true potential.

JACK DECOLT

As a monster??? Under Soothsayer’s thumb??? If you drink that you

won’t beat him! He’ll control you! He’ll win! Ricky, I’m begging you, put

an end to this! Give us the potion!

Ricky considers handing over the potion and...

RICKY DECOLT

No. This potion can give me the power to end Soothsayer. Who

knows what plans he has? Who knows who he’s going to harm

next? I can stop him at ‘Chamber of Horrors’... but I need the potion

to do so.

A confident, determined RICKY DECOLT heads to his motorcycle, and notices an ATTRACTIVE FAN beckoning him over with a sexy wink. He quickly hides the vial of potion in his bike, and follows her into the shadows.

There’s a BANG! There’s a CRASH! Then silence. The attractive fan leaves the shadows, but Ricky does not.

DONTE DUNN & JACK DECOLT

Davis Ditterich “Donte has his mentor by his side tonight, but on Friday he’ll be alone, locked in the Chamber with the biggest opportunity of his young career.”

Jack takes out his frustrations until Warren chop-blocks him from behind and systematically dismantles the leg. Ozzie helps ironically. Jack goes berserk when he catches Warren staring blankly at Marie’s chest and makes the tag! Donte lets loose! Forearms! Airplane Spin! 11 rotations. Big Lariat! Sunny Daze (Twisting Face Crusher)! 1... 2... 3!

DONTE DUNN & JACK DECOLT WIN (8:06)

A very happy DONTE DUNN is throwing some forearms at an imaginary Poison’s weak spot, when he notices a stagehand struggling to move a giant box. He rushes over to help, when a mysterious pair of hands shove him in the box, and the stagehand locks it.

Davis Ditterich “These four men will compete in the Chamber of Horrors match on Friday, but will their alliances hold true?”

Price unloads with european uppercuts while Zeus erratically alternates between flashy submissions and cruel strikes. Joey and Trent constantly interfere to give their men the upper hand, neither of whom are asking for help. Trent chases the CGC World Champion, causing a panicked Joey to flee and fumble for a vial of potion, but the scene only serves to distract Christian Price. Thunder Bolt (Sit Out Bomb)! 1... 2... 3!

JACK DECOLT

Come on, Ricky. Pick up. We need to talk about this-

Suddenly, he hears a SCREAM from Marie and bursts out of the room, sprinting down the corridor… only to get swept up in a GIANT NET.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/BrettFraserS_zps3a0cbe5e.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/ElEetS_zps30d9bbf3.jpg

BRETT FRASER turns off a tape recording of Marie screaming, while EL EET beams.

EL EET

People used to tell me… I mean, they told me recently, that Brett

Fraser was a great hunter out in the wilds, and I didn’t believe them.

Yet look what he’s just caught. The wildest animal in Canadian

Golden Combat.

BRETT FRASER

It’s all about the bait.

Jack tries to swing for him, but he’s tangled up in the net.

EL EET

Relax, Jack. Your wife is fine. We just locked her in a cupboard with

Ricky and Donte. We’ll let her out after I’m done with Alex. There are

can’t have you interfering. Just hang out here for a while, Jack.

There’s nothing you can do for Alex now.

The two prospects walk away as a furious Jack struggles.

EL EET makes an elaborate entrance, stuffed with rolls and poses, playing to the kids and anyone with a camera. The other Prospects surround the ring. WARREN TECHNIQUE stares into space. OZZIE GOLDEN texts. BRETT FRASER has a net at the ready.

Davis Ditterich “The Prospects are out in force, and thanks to Brett Fraser hunting and trapping his brothers, Alex DeColt stands alone.“

Alex unleashes precision counterpunches, targeting pressure points for maximum stopping power, but Brett Fraser distracts him. Patadas Voladores! Smiling an insincere smile and showing off for the cameras, “El Eet” delivers a beating until Alex powers free. Powerslam! Snap Driving Elbow! This time Warren causes the distraction. Estacas! El Eet tosses Alex outside and takes the referee, allowing the other Prospects to attack.

Davis Ditterich “Come on! This isn’t fair!”

A familiar-looking Double Underhook Powerbomb gets a 2-count. Alex is thrown outside again, but this time outwits the prospects, stunning them with throat thrusts and ducking El Eet’s plancha. The luchador crashes into his team mates, and is dragged back into the ring. Tower Collapse Superplex! He sets up for the DeColt Driver (Straightjacket Drop) but Fraser and Technique attack!

ALEX DECOLT WINS VIA DISQUALIFICATION (14:38)

El Eet grabs a chair, while the other three Prospects hold Alex down and remove his kneepad. El Eet poses for the cameras, and drives the metal edge of the chair into Alex’s exposed knee.

Cooking on gas. I'm also very happy with the decision to put Alex/El Eet on last, instead of the Price/Zeus match that had to do with the World Title program. El Eet doesn’t have the best popularity (in his defense, he debuted quite recently) but he and Alex work very, very well together. While Zeus and Price have been pushed strongly, they don't have the main event experience of the Thinking Man's DeColt.

Don't make me chant "We want Trent" at every event, you know I will and you know it'll end with him being champion dammit.

Not to open the conversation up for too much WWE chat (there's a nice thread in the dog pound for that) but there’s a weird spiteful part of me that, if I were Vince, would keep the title off of Daniel Bryan. Maybe it's the size thing. Maybe I'm just being a contrarian. When people go nuts for something, I tend to pick out the flaws. Dolph Ziggler's a prime example. This is part of why I prefered the old efed version of Edd I wrote, because he had something he wanted (unrequinted love interest) and readers could relate too.

But my heart cried when Edd was betrayed by Steve.

Oi. Chamber of Horrors Match for the CGC World Title: Almighty Zeus vs Christian Price vs Donte Dunn vs Trent Shaffer vs Poison © - The future screws over Poison and Poison becomes a much more rabid and feral man.

Soothsayer vs Ricky DeColt - I'm going for shenanigans here. Will Ricky still have the potion by the time of the match? Does Soothsayer have an ace up his sleeve? Too much for this to be just a match.

Brett Fraser vs Jack DeColt

Bobby Thomas vs Sean Deeley

El Eet vs Whippy The Clown

Technique & Golden vs Prime Energy

Y'know, the D-Bry comparison had occurred to me. In fact, pretty much that exact response had occurred to me - "I wonder if this is how annoyed the WWE booking team feels, when the fans insist on cheering for a guy that they don't want to push yet?"

The question becomes, how much are you writing this for yourself, and how much for the audience? Neither is wrong, I hasten to add. If you have a story that you want to tell, and you put it here so that we can see it, then that's legit, do what you like. If you want to roll with your wacky internet fans and use our feedback as inspiration, than that's fine too. It's just a thing to consider.

Do I write for me or you guys? The answer is neither, and the answer is both. Yes, there's a clear written-in-stone story being told. Yes, your reactions change everything. Which came first? The chicken... and the egg... and neither.

Don't take the Trent/Bryan comments too seriously. I'm screwing around. Being topical. Trent is one of my favourite characters. Although I also think Bryan is one of Vince's favourite characters, so maybe there is more of a correlation between the two besides "they're small".

They are small though. Really small. So shut up about them.

As much as I am looking forward to a color scheme change (it really is a nice touch and sets the different championship reigns apart and makes them feel special) I don't feel that Poison's reign is over. Heck it feels as if it hasn't really started because to me it's just gaining steam with the story you are telling.

El Eet is my favorite character in this entire dynasty I love what you have done with him so I can't predict a loss for him.

Technique & Golden vs Prime Energy

Normally I would vote against a team that isn't really a team in favor of a team that is an actual team. But it would make sense for Technique and Golden to get the win in order to prove their worth to the Elite.
