I really liked the booking of the Jack DeColt vs. Donte Dunn match simple but effective.

QUESTION: Total Championship Wrestling are sending 4 of their stars up for the WrestleFestival. Who do you think it’ll be?

I had no idea where to start since I wasn't familiar with the TEW13 data and who's in which company.......then I remembered there's another 8RoW diary featuring TCW that started using the exact same data that I can use for reference. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I'm assuming American Buffalo/I. AM. Buff doesn't count?

1) Rick Law - mostly because of the character background. It should fit in great and the possibilities are endless. The cop who pursued the DWB into CGC in order to bring them back to jail? An angle with the Bold Gendarmes in a classic encounter between good and bad cops? Or maybe some interaction with CGC's new Batman? I can't wait.

2) Edd Stone - We know you love this guy, and of course, a Stone in a DeColt company always presents all sorts possibilities.

3) Chance Fortune - seems to fit the kind of guys you favour, still relatively young and talented but not a bona fide star or an overpowered stat machine that's guaranteed to make it the big stage.

4) Hmmmm.....don't really have a reason why you'd bring them in....hell, I don't even have a real reason why *I'D* bring them in, but I'd just put my vote on a team that I somehow would like to see make an appearance here: the Party Rockin' (Danny Fonazrelli & Giant Tana) team. Yes, I know that's 5 picks instead of 4.

Quick off the blocks, Price unleashes thunderous European Uppercuts. Simple. Effective. Unstoppable. He struggles to lift the masculine behemoth for Price Check (TKO) allowing Buff to fight back and hit a massive shoulder tackle! Buff beats him down, showing the women in the crowd what a 'real man' looks like. Price slips free of the Running Powerslam, and hits a Euro to the back of the head! Buff staggers into the referee, knocking him down! Price Check!

Ouch. That was a poor main event. A combination of poor chemistry, poor stamina, and... I don’t know. I’m more likely to put the blame on Buff than Price, who has otherwise been killing it recently. The match with Fraser certainly exceeded expectations. Lucky for the CGC fans in Bearberry Field, they won’t have to wait long for some more wrestling. Night One of WrestleFestival begins right now! Or, like, tomorrow evening, when I post the show.

Well, there goes my prediction of 2 men passing the labours and each getting a shot on one night of the event.

On hindsight, Zeus vs Poison would have been bogged down by the fact that its going to be heel vs heel, so I guess it's not such a good idea. :/

Jack vs Poison is the only match I'm fairly confident of in my predictions. The rest feel like a toss-up for me.

I'm probably missing someone obvious, but I can't figure out who "Hometown Hero" is. I'm guessing that he'll be more popular in Canada than Troy Tornado (assuming Rock Star is him), so there's my vote. Likewise Edd Stone (if he's the Black Sheep) will likely have the edge here over Ricky Dale Johnson in his home country.

Davis Ditterich “Stevie Grayson was doing great in the Labors until Soothsayer interfered on behalf of the CGC World Champion. This is for revenge.”

Uncharacteristically, Stevie attacks wildly with punches, kicks, elbows... but Soothsayer's seen it before and shuts him down with an overhead kick. The masked mystery picks him apart, stopping any and all comebacks with a supernatural ability to predict Stevie's movements, until Stevie switches gears with a Twisting Spinebuster! He confuses Soothsayer with lefts and headbutts, before showcasing (almost) God-like strength with a rolling samoan. Hogg crawls to his corner after a desperation Grease Spot (HIgh Knee). Mann tries to pull his partner off the apron to prevent the tag, but Lead Belly spits beer in his eyes. There's the tag! Darkness has descended on the 2014 WrestleFestival. A bright spotlight suddenly sparks into life, projecting the word “Trent” into the sky. It’s the TRENT-SIGNAL, signaling the arrival of TRENT SHAFFER sitting on the turnbuckle.

It’s ducked, and Tornado starts rocking out, using Benson’s body as his drum kit and locking in an abdominal stretch, playing air guitar with his ribs.

Jack goes berserk, but right hands don’t faze the monster, shoulder tackles are shrugged off, and an attempt to Punch! Him! In! The! Face! is stopped with POISON MIST! Jack is blind! Unfazed, unfeeling, unblinking, Poison takes him apart with deadly right hands, but Jack ducks the Ripcord Lariat and controls the monster on the mat until he can regain his sight.

Poison powers free and launches Jack from corner to corner with unnatural ease. Jack’s rage builds and builds until he explodes, throwing wild haymakers in the vague area of Poison’s weak spot. Some hit the mark, but not enough, so he clamps on a NERVE HOLD! Poison feels pain! Every time the monster fights free, Jack gets the nerve hold back on, jumping on his back and locking his legs.

It has. He’s Joey again, and he’s in trouble. Strange chimes alert him to the presence of another vial of potion. Joey desperately rakes the eyes and crawls towards it and- Jack steps on the vial, crushing it. Joey is devastated. Jack goes berserk with right hands and shoulder tackles before hoisting him up for Wild Ride (Whiplash Slam)! He locks in End of Days (Bow & Arrow Dragon Sleeper)! Joey screams for “Soothsayer!” to come help him, but no one comes. Joey Poison taps.

Davis Ditterich “For the first time ever, the CGC Tag Team Titles headline the WrestleFestival, and with good reason. These four men have a long history of hatred and violence towards one another, reigniting by Ricky and Chandler in recent months.”

The action quickly spills outside. Ricky trades furious punches with Chandler up the ramp. Alex counters DaLay's heavy hands with precision punches through the crowd. After an intense back and forth, Chandler dodges an epic dropkick and Ricky crashes and burns into some electrical equipment. Eddie Chandler returns to the ring with a ladder, but Alex cuts him off before he can climb. Powerslam! Snap Driving Elbow! Tower Collapse Superplex! Alex starts to climb, but DaLay returns and throws a ladder at him! The Giant bullies his old foe around the ring, while unsuccessfully trying to rouse his partner to do the climbing.

Here comes Ricky! Epic Dropkick! Running Bulldog! High Fly Elbow! Chandler blindsides him with a Backcracker and locks in Abdominally Fabulous. Ricky struggles and fades and freezes. Eyes fixed in an icy stare, Ricky rises, deadlifting a terrified Eddie Chandler with him. Press Slam! Spear! DaLay tries a BACKFI- but Ricky ducks and Spear tackles him out of his boots!

Ricky desperately climbs, he's inches away from the tag team titles and... The lights go out.

Strange Chimes sound and when the lights come back on SOOTHSAYER is with Ricky on top of the ladder. On Soothsayer's command, he slowly descends the ladder and lays Alex out with a Ripcord Lariat!

As Ricky stares down at his brother with cold, dead eyes, Eddie Chandler climbs the ladder and claims the title belts.

Posted later than intended. Heavily rewrote some stuff.

I knew going in that Jack/Poison was probably going to get a better rating than the Tag Title Match, but narratively, I had to end the show on that moment. Other than the main event, I’m thrilled by the ratings. The opener was ace, DWB match delivered despite the Gendarmes’ low popularity, and the TCW exhibition almost stole the show. Almost. Jack & Poison still got match of the night. Really good job from Price & Trent on the promo segment too. That surely helped boost the show’s rating up a bit.

Thoroughly enjoyed the TCW predictions. It was really, really hard to pick just 4 wrestlers, given the sheer number of options available. So much history to exploit. So many relationships to play with. A lot of you figured Edd Stone was coming. He didn’t wrestle tonight, but is he really known for his matches? Likewise, a lot of predictions for FCK-alumni Troy Tornado, but only once ‘Rock Star’ was teased. I kinda felt bad blatantly teasing RDJ, seeing as he’s a much bigger star than Texas Pete. Bit of a letdown, I suppose. As for Benny, with no one guessing him for hometown hero I got a last second panic that he wasn't Canadian. He is though.
