Round 1

And here we go! LeVesseur feints rushing in, but withdraws. A jab misses, allowing LeVesseur to counter-strike with a kick to the ribs. Both fighters exchange strikes, but neither hits anything significant. Both fighters come toe-to-toe and strike, but none of the strikes result in significant damage being done. LeVesseur lets a jab sail wide and counter-strikes with some big rights, putting Sajewski down! Without hesitation, LeVesseur mounts his stunned opponent! LeVesseur tries to pound on Sajewski, but all the blows are comfortably dealt with. Sajewski tries to shrimp his way out of mount, but LeVesseur shuts the opportunity down. LeVesseur fires away with big punches, but Sajewski covers up and doesn't take any undue damage. Sajewski tries to get to half guard but can't. LeVesseur tries to lock Sajewski in an armbar. Sajewski rolls with it, using the armbar attempt as a way of getting on top in side control. Sajewski looks to roll LeVesseur slightly and slip behind. He shows excellent control to move LeVesseur over and take his back. Sajewski increases his control by getting both hooks in. Sajewski, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. LeVesseur fights off the rear naked choke attempt. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out. I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of LeVesseur.

Round 2

There's the bell and round number two begins! It sounded like his corner told LeVesseur to stand and try to use counter striking against Sajewski in this round. Both fighters advance and strike, but neither hits anything. From the missed strikes they clinch. Sajewski is trying to push LeVesseur so that his back is up against the cage. Sajewski manages it, and controls LeVesseur up against the cage. LeVesseur wrestles back against Sajewski, not letting him maintain control for any length of time. LeVesseur steps in and unloads with a series of lefts. LeVesseur moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a flurry of quick punches to sting Sajewski. LeVesseur slips past a left jab and counters with a sharp kick just above the hip. Time expires and we come to the end of round two. I think LeVesseur took that round, 10-9 on my score card.

I think Siver took that round, 10-9 on my score card.

Round 3

And here we go, round three! A flurry of punches miss Siver and allow him to counter-strike with a couple of hard rights! The takedown is successful, it's a single leg that leaves Siver pulling guard. Dias attempts to pass guard. Dias passes to side control with ease. Dias tries to lock Siver into an armbar. A straight armbar is applied, Siver is in danger of having his arm hyper-extended! No! He pops his arm free. That was really close. Dias blocks an attempt to pull guard. Dias starts trying to work to use side control as a way to get behind Siver. He does it, getting behind Siver. The fight comes to an end as the time limit expires. That round goes to Dias, 10-9 on my card.

We reach the time limit and this fight is over. I think Nogueira took that round, 10-9 on my score card.

The official scores are being reported now. The judges give scores of 48-46, 48-47 and 48-47.

Making the winner by unanimous decision the new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion of the world Antonio Rogerio 'Minotoro' Nogueira !

UFC on FOX: Kampmann vs. Hendricks 2 - Play by Play

Light Heavyweight Bout: Vinny Magalhaes vs. Muhammed Lawal

Round 1

And here we go! Lawal counters a left jab by hitting a nice combination. A straight left fails to land and Lawal is able to fire back with a series of big punches, putting Magalhaes down on the ground! Magalhaes recovers his wits quickly, and waits for Lawal to make a move. Magalhaes is allowed to stand back up, Lawal simply stepped away. Magalhaes chooses to shoot in on Lawal. Lawal sees the takedown coming and tries to move. The takedown doesn't work, Lawal saw it coming and got out of range. A wayward low right kick allows Lawal to hit a nice three-punch combination. Lawal is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Lawal is now standing in the pocket. Magalhaes uses head movement to avoid a left jab. Magalhaes covers up, absorbing a flurry of punches. Both fighters fire off strikes, but neither does any significant damage. Both fighters advance and strike, but neither hits anything. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up clinched. Using his wrestling skills, Magalhaes is trying to push Lawal up against the cage. Magalhaes manages it, and controls Lawal up against the cage. Magalhaes looks for a trip takedown. Magalhaes tries hard but cannot get Lawal off of his feet. Lawal uses a whizzer to half turn Magalhaes, creating enough space for him to break away from the grapple and return to the center. Magalhaes uses a flurry of lefts and rights to get Lawal to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. Lawal tries to step away from the takedown. Lawal avoids the takedown attempt. Time expires and we come to the end of round one. I have to give that round to Lawal, but only a 10-9.

Round 2

There's the bell for the start of the round! Magalhaes counters a wayward left jab with a scything low kick to the legs. Lawal is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Magalhaes. Magalhaes moves in too, and they start to grapple. Lawal is looking to muscle Magalhaes back against the cage. He does so, and now has Magalhaes pinned to the cage. Lawal smothers Magalhaes against the cage and stomps down on his foot. Magalhaes waits for Lawal to try some dirty boxing, then quickly uses wrestling to turn him around so that he now has his back to the cage. Magalhaes attempts to wrestle Lawal to the ground. Lawal digs in and manages to defend the takedown. Lawal uses a whizzer to half turn Magalhaes, creating enough space for him to break away from the grapple and return to the center. Lawal comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Magalhaes. Lawal grabs Magalhaes and pulls him into a grapple. Lawal is trying to muscle Magalhaes up against the cage. Lawal achieves it, pinning Magalhaes to the cage. Magalhaes gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh. Lawal attempts to establish some dominance with his wrestling, but Magalhaes is too hard to keep controlled against the cage. Magalhaes finds room to apply a standing guillotine! Magalhaes gets the guillotine fully applied and Lawal has to tap out!

Vinny Magalhaes takes the victory by way of submission!

Heavyweight Bout: Frank Mir vs. Travis Browne

Round 1

There's the opening bell! Both fighters fire off strikes, neither produces any significant damage. Covering up, Mir absorbs a combination of rights and lefts. A right jab misses, giving Browne the chance to hit back with a kick to the inside of the right leg. Mir covers up to absorb a barrage of big left hands. Mir comes in, looking for a quick double leg takedown from close range. Browne tries to strike first with a solid right hook, but isn't quick enough Mir gets a single leg takedown! Browne pulls guard off it. In guard, Mir begins working to pass to side control. Mir isn't able to pass guard on this attempt. Mir blocks an attempted sweep. Perhaps looking to create space for a leglock, Mir tries to break the guard apart. Browne blocks it by keeping his guard secure. Browne tries to catch Mir with a punch, but it is not on target. Mir tries to pass the guard. Browne keeps his guard secure. Mir gets pushed away, and ends up standing over Browne, who is on his back. Mir tries to come in and secure a ground position. Browne moves quickly, scrambling for position before Mir can get a hold. The scramble results in Browne being on his back pulling half guard. Mir tries to ensnare Browne in an arm triangle. Mir gets the arm triangle fully applied! Out of the blue, Browne breaks free! Mir must not have had it locked up as tight as it looked. Mir blocks an attempted move from half guard to full guard. Mir attempts a kimura. Browne stops Mir from applying it. The time runs out on round one. There was very little to separate them in that round, but I'll give that one 10-9 to Mir.

Round 2

There's the bell and round number two begins! Browne keeps his cool as Mir throws a feint to the left. Mir chooses to shoot in on Browne. A counter right cross is too slow to catch Mir. The takedown is completed, Mir came in hard and fast and was too much for Browne. The takedown leaves Browne seated with his back pressed against the cage. Mir tries to put Browne into a guillotine choke. Mir gets the guillotine, applies pressure, and Browne has to tap!

The winner, by submission; Frank Mir!

Heavyweight Bout: Randy Couture vs. Junior Dos Santos

Round 1

There's the opening bell! dos Santos has to cover up to absorb a nice one-two combination, having been off balance after falling for a feint. dos Santos feints going high, but Couture doesn't buy it. Couture slips past a left jab and counters with a quick right hand that lands right on the button, sending dos Santos crumpling to the ground out cold!

Randy Couture takes the victory by way of Knock Out!

Main Event

Welterweight Championship Bout: Martin Kampmann vs. Johny Hendricks

Round 1

And here we go! Hendricks steps in, fakes dropping down for a shot, then darts back out. Hendricks fakes dropping down for a double leg, but Kampmann was aware of the danger and backs off. Hendricks looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Kampmann. Kampmann is pulled into a grapple. Hendricks is trying to muscle Kampmann up against the cage. Kampmann ends up backed against the cage. Kampmann eats a short left uppercut that rocks him. Hendricks pins Kampmann up against the cage and stomps down hard on his foot. Hendricks catches Kampmann with a hard left hand to the ribs. Hendricks exerts total control, keeping Kampmann smothered against the cage for sixty seconds or so. Unable to get free, Kampmann is smothered up against the cage for about sixty seconds. The referee decides that the grappling against the cage has been going on too long, and he brings them back to the center. Hendricks is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Kampmann. He pulls Kampmann into a grapple. Hendricks is trying to muscle Kampmann up against the cage. Hendricks achieves it, pinning Kampmann to the cage. Kampmann eats a short left uppercut that rocks him. Showing his ability to exert control, Hendricks smothers Kampmann up against the cage for the remainder of the round, wearing him down with occasional sharp punches to the ribs. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out. That round goes to Hendricks, 10-9 on my card.

Round 2

There's the bell for the start of the round! Both fighters come in and exchange strikes, but neither does any damage. Hendricks looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Hendricks cannot get close enough to the elusive Kampmann to grapple. Kampmann narrowly misses Hendricks with a right uppercut. Not letting Kampmann settle at all, Hendricks comes in closer. Hendricks is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Kampmann. Hendricks cannot get close enough to the elusive Kampmann to grapple. Hendricks looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Kampmann finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Hendricks hits Kampmann with some short strikes to the side of the head while grappling. Hendricks uses dirty boxing and gets in a few crisp punches on Kampmann as they grapple. Using his wrestling skills, Hendricks is trying to push Kampmann up against the cage. Hendricks manages it, and controls Kampmann up against the cage. Hendricks smothers Kampmann up against the cage while using the occasional short sharp punch to the body, keeping him stuck there for a full minute. Showing his ability to exert control, Hendricks smothers Kampmann up against the cage for thirty seconds or so. Breathing very hard, Johny Hendricks is looking ragged. Showing his ability to control opponents, Hendricks simply smothers Kampmann against the cage for the remainder of the round. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out. I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Hendricks.

Round 3

We are back underway! An exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Kampmann tries for a right body kick but Hendricks moves out of range. Hendricks counters an attempted body kick by scoring with a solid right jab. Martin Kampmann is looking really tired. Despite being tired, Kampmann looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Hendricks. Standing his ground, Hendricks looks happy to engage Kampmann in the pocket. Hendricks backs away to create some more space. Hendricks fakes a lunge. Kampmann quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. Kampmann slips past a right jab and counters with a picture-perfect right roundhouse kick to the side of the ribs. Moving in closer, a tired-looking Kampmann apparently wants to strike from the pocket. Standing his ground, Hendricks looks happy to engage Kampmann in the pocket. A right cross misses, giving Hendricks the perfect angle to counter-strike with a crisp right. Kampmann slips past a straight punch and then hits a great hook to the body, knocking Hendricks down! Moving quickly, Kampmann tries to ensnare the stunned Hendricks in an armbar. Kampmann gets the armbar fully applied and Hendricks has to tap out!

By submission, the winner is Martin Kampmann!

It's a bad choice though, as Melendez seizes the opportunity to leap forward and secure side control. Time expires and we come to the end of round one. I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Nijem.

The takedown leaves Nijem seated with his back pressed against the cage. Melendez looks to get a more dominant position by pushing Nijem from a seated position onto his back. Nijem keeps Melendez close in, not letting the mount happen. Nijem hits some weak punches to the upper back, but they're more out of frustration than anything. Not liking his options, Melendez looks to get a better position over Nijem. Nijem doesn't let Melendez get the mount. Gilbert Melendez is looking really tired. Nijem tries to sweep Melendez, but can't do it. Melendez begins trying to get himself into a more dominant position. He can't quite manage to get to mount on this attempt. Nijem, trapped against the cage, pummels Melendez on the back with several small shots, although they're more out of frustration than anything. Melendez attempts a guillotine. Nijem doesn't allow the guillotine to be applied. The time expires on round three, and that is the end of the fight. That round goes to Melendez, 10-9 on my card.

The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. With the cage trapping Volkmann, Diaz looks to try and take him down. Volkmann shows stubborn resistance and Diaz cannot complete the takedown. Round one ends as time expires. I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Diaz.

Diaz tries to single leg Volkmann as he moves forward, but he is too quick to step away. Volkmann steps back to avoid a tight combination of punches after falling for a clever feint. A left jab misses and Diaz strikes back with a nice left hand. Diaz shoots in for a takedown. Volkmann won't go down from the takedown attempt, but can't do anything about being pushed up against the cage. Nate Diaz doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Diaz leaves his head exposed though, and Volkmann is able to push down on the back of it for leverage. Using the position well, Volkmann pulls Diaz down onto all fours, then rolls him to side control! Volkmann relinquishes side control and stands up, letting Diaz stand too. The time expires on round three, and that is the end of the fight. That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Volkmann.
