<p>[thread=524617]MSL: Simply Awesome Wrestling! - Atomics Quest/single story line[/thread]</p><p> </p><p>

The unique way of following one storyline ala pokemon, is really drawing me in. it is a freindly read, and easy to follow. each show goes exactly one step, and so far every step has been in the right direction by Christmas Ape!</p>

<p>For Monthly Spotlight I'd like to nominate Bruce the Giant's debut segment in Eisen-Verse's SWF dynasty. </p><p> </p><p>

Not only was is well-written and totally captured Bruce's beyond legendary status, but it showed that not even the most powerful group in SWF (The Establishment) can touch Bruce. Just when you think The Establishment is gaining the upper hand, Rich Money tries to pick a fight with the largest man in the world. Bruce the Giant is untouchable, and this segment helped showed that.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

EDIT: The segment is the last one in this post: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1898252&postcount=766" rel="external nofollow">http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1898252&postcount=766</a></p>

Mod DOTM Nominee's:

WCW'94: War of the Thrones by Beejus

He does a great job writing the shows and very interesting read that makes you want to see what happens next. There is a lot diaries doing fantastic jobs out there right now.

Cornellverse DOTM Nominee's:

Simply Awesome Wrestling by Christmas Ape. I like the style he is using.

Monthly Spotlight Nominee's:

The Final Countdown's WWF The Golden Age and Beyond... Summerslam.

He just posted it today and it was a amazing show one of the best I have seen on the boards. The ending is hell of surprise.

Please edit this post to fit in with the rules of nomination. Thank you.

Otherwise, we should be up-to-date.

<p>Bumping this up and nominating my C-Verse favorites for the month...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Cornellverse DOTM Nominees: </p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=524520" rel="external nofollow">USPW: Last Days of Strong (July - November 2013)</a> by 20LEgend - Most diaries start in January, but this one starts in the middle of the year, which is a twist I like. Not big on the backstage scene, but the format and storylines are easy to follow. Also, this is probably the first diary I've seen where Sam Strong doesn't say "brother"...brother. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Still like it when Strong acts and talks like the C-Verse's Terry Bollea, but kudos to 20LEgend for the different portrayal of Mr. Stragavelli.</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=524465" rel="external nofollow">Steve DeColt: Dynasties Destroyed and Legends Reborn</a> by Huntman - Love the back story and the idea of having three SWF Superstars and Steve DeColt act as the "outsiders" of 4C.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Monthly Spotlight Nominee:</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1892816&postcount=3" rel="external nofollow">The SWF Backstage Fight</a> on Huntman's 4C diary. His diary had me at that post. Excellent interpretation of what goes down when a few main event (or upper midcard, in Rogue's case) workers have enough of Richard Eisen's nepotism...</p>

<p>I really should get round to reading and commenting on other diaries again- I used to be quite prolific in that sense. Nothing to do with the quality of people's writing on here- just that I think personally I've kind of hit a wall on diary reading. So please no one take offense, that I'm not reading/commenting on diaries right now like I used to. </p><p> </p><p>

Might also have something to do with the fact that my interest in anime, has taken over from my interest in wrestling. I still watch some wrestling (mostly NJPW/Dragon Gate) but nowhere near as much as I did when I first joined these boards. </p><p> </p><p>

Perhaps I'll find that spark again both with wrestling and with TEW. That does not mean my own diary is dead in the water, but it does go someway to explaining why mine moves so slowly, for it not to even be eligible for nomination. </p><p> </p><p>

Anyway my naval gazing- has at least managed to result in a bump for this thread, and folks can get back to nominating.</p>

<p>I'd like to vote for The_Lloyd's diary for mod diary of the month found <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=523899" rel="external nofollow">here</a>.</p><p> </p><p>

I wasn't certain whether to do it again but his last show (Over the Limit) clinched it for me. He is doing well of creating an alternative WWE.</p><p> </p><p>

Also I think you've got mine (Simply Awesome Wrestling) in the wrong category as it's in mod instead of C-Verse. I suppose you could call it a mod because I edited SAW from yet to debut to an existing promotion before starting, but personally I'd definitely still call it C-Verse.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd also like to nominate 20LEgend's first show <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1894713&postcount=8" rel="external nofollow">Independence Day Slam</a> in his USPW diary for monthly spotlight. The ending announcement gave the diary a great premise and in general got it off to a good start.</p>

Ok, here are my nominations:

C-verse

Booking FCW... Caribbean style by flaviooooo

He shines a spotlight on one of the lesser promotions and makes it a worthwhile read.

Thanks for the nomination kanegan ;)

I'd like to nominate:

WWF 1994: Growing Pains by RKOwnage

I liked the WWF during that period (contrary to many others :D) and the way he described the action seems spot on!

Cornellverse

Zergon - ESE Eternal Suffering

Simple, but always interesting. I enjoy the cast of characters too - Zergon has told good stories with them (Honeyman's heel turn, DWN's title reign)

Thanks for the nomination Occasional_Z. :)

Since I´m posting here I guess I might as well post my own nominations.

I would like to nominate Eisen-verse´s SWF: Where Men Become LEGENDS http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=522476&page=55 and James Casey´s SWF: Generation Supreme http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=515858&page=21.

Both are great SWF diaries with plenty of great characters and storylines. Special mention should go to Eisen-verse´s version of Rick Money as he has actually managed to make me hate him (in a good way) which is tough task considering how much I normally like Money.

Thank you for this, Zergon! :)

Rich Money is, easily, my favorite character I've ever written for! It's awesome to know that I've managed to generate heat around him. It's been my focus to make him unrelateable and overtly frustrating as a character.

Mod Nomination #1

kanegan's Carving Out Guerrilla Glory is consistently entertaining and fully deserves a shot at DOTM. Interesting characters, several strong storylines and the spotlights on the rest of the game world make this a must read for me.

Mod Nomiation #2

Rare Kuma's Awesome Wrestling Federation - Takeover has only one show so far, but it was a very good one. Interesting booking in terms of the Takeover stable itself, and starting from August gives the diary something different too.

Monthly Spotlight

The main event of Gureisu Pro's last show, October Is For Wrestling, in this post of MichiganHero's Gureisu Pro, Wrestling Is Fun!. Without reading the rest of the diary, the match might seem like an odd nomination, but with the background it's just another culmination in the feud between Cody & Bourel and DISCO Fox & WMD. I could have also nominated Chloe Bourel on her own, so defining is Michigan's portrayal. It's not often you worry for a character in a diary, but Bourel's certainly one of them after that ending!

I've got a couple of TNA diaries to nominate for the Mod section.

Up first is Total Nonstop Action: Feel the Impact! by|Anderz|. This is set right as Impact debuted on Fox Sports Net, during the weekly PPV days, which I think was a very interesting time in TNA's history. He's been going at a pretty quick pace, the shows are enjoyable, and he really seems to 'get' this particular time period of TNA. Plus, I'm a sucker for the Organic pic pack. :D

I'm also nominating TNA: At A Crossroads by Texasrangers13. I've always been a fan of his work, so it's nice to see one of his diaries seems to be catching on. It's told entirely from the perspective of the user character, which helps it stand out.

For Monthly Spotlight, I'm going with Fall Brawl in Beejus' WCW '94: War of the Thrones. Another strong PPV from Beejus, with more interesting development from Brian Pillman. He's really becoming the breakout character of this diary, at least IMO.

CORNELLVERSE NOMINATION

Operation Lullaby by Charismatic Enigma

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=523571

Even though it's dead, I think it deserves some recognition for the excellent idea and execution of a concept, that while set-up in game, still requires a clever writer to pull off.

MOD NOMINATION

WCW/nWO: At The Apex by NWOvsWWF

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=523465

So authentic to what that year actually felt like when WCW had all the momentum and the biggest stars on the planet. Hope he continues with it despite his prodigious modding.

SPOTLIGHT NOMINATION

HGC: The Rise & Fall of Hollywood by arwink

Spotlight: The Backstage Segments

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=524068

These posts really give the feeling you're watching a documentary, maybe on Netflix while drunk and your wife is on vacation so you can watching wrestling documentaries for once. I'm rambling. Segments are awesome.

I'm in a rush right now so I can't really nominate anyone, but it seems most of my favorites have already been nominated anyway. Awesome group this month.
