RW: WWF 1997: In Your House

A few shows in I've really enjoyed it. A big thing for me is that it feels like it could be a real show (how the show is put together, he's not brought in a huge amount of new guys straight away etc.) - I liked that he's kept matches fairly short with a focus on some good storylines, it looks like it's going great places towards Wrestlemania. It looks excellent and at no point is it a chore to read.

Not decided on others yet.

CV - Everybody Knows by Phantom Stranger.

For me it's unique. It takes no time to read and you feel like it's a real review, with the shoots and what not, of 1997 in HGC/DaVE. While it's primarily an HGC writeup right now, the DaVE stuff that has been featured is a clear distinction from the HGC giving both companies a distinctive personality.

NOMINATIONS:

CornellVerse

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=524775

GSW: War in the West by Voeltzwagon

Even though GSW is my sworn enemy (a title soon to be taken by CZCW), he somehow has made the company an interesting read. Even though the entire promotion is filled with jobbers, hacks, and clowns. The previews are hilarious and he's brought in good people who fit well with the company.

Real World

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=524636

Total Nonstop Action: Feel the Impact by Anderz

I judge real world diaries based on how much they "feel" like the actual company while taking things in an entirely different direction. Anderz has accomplished that with a much younger version of TNA. Writing is solid, characterization has been spot on. He gets my vote.

Spotlight

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=523965

Randy Savage/Shawn Michaels/Marty Janetty drama in The Final Countdown's Golden Age WWF diary

TFC has been teasing the Michaels-Janetty breakup for a month now and has only amped up the drama after inserting (a now suspended) Randy Savage into the mix. That fact alone makes it something to follow as the diary progresses.

Two mod noms from me.

First, angeldelayette's own WCW 1994: The Bischoff Era. I love seeing anytime you update it, partially selfishly because I like seeing the alternative to my own 1994 booking.

Secondly, tg01's WCW91-Birth of a Company, with a Texas Twist. It's a fun read, I'd daresay quite underrated for as much as he puts into the shows. Love his format.

Can't think of anything for Spotlight off the top of my head right now, but maybe I'll be able to come back to that.

I'm actually outraged that no one even tried to nominate my next pick.

My first nomination goes to Shawn Michaels 82's "WCW 2001: The end is the beginning...is the end?"

It is a unique dinasty, one of the best i've seen in here, so far. And it's format, which is part of what makes it one of a kind is what in my opinion also makes it qualified to be voted.

You see, the dinasty hasn't held a wrestling show so far, but it has already held a show. The dinasty in question doesn't make Nitro the main focus of the whole thing, and it will not be posted as a show, but as part of a show. A tv show. And since one episode of that tv show was already posted, i think the minimum "one show requirement" was already met. I would feel ripped off if it didn't get at least nominated.

The reason to nomitate it: By far the best dinasty I've seen in here for a long time. It's one of the few that is actually telling a story. And a good one. Here is the link:

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=525009

And my monthly spotlight nomination goes to that dynasty's episode 0. Great writing. Here is the link:

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=525009&page=3

I will get back with a second nomination.

I am allowing the monthly spotlight since it doesn't have a show requirement. However, if he places a show up between now and August 1 then I will add it.

First C-Verse Nomination:

Mid Atlantic Wrestling - How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Territories by Briskout

I always prefer diaries with great backstage segments to go with the great shows, and this rather new diary delivers on both counts.

Will get back with a second C-Verse nomination and/or the Monthly Spotlight in a bit...

By the way, my monthly spotlight nomination is the whole episode 0 of that diary. I think the link I posted was to part 2, but there is also a part 1, I'm nominating the whole episode. As for the DOTM nomination, I will keep it. It all seems like a thechnicallity to me, so I will keep it. So let's hope you change your mind or his first show comes up in time.

I'm nominating: "RW: WWE THREE Brands...." by The Lloyd

Which is a dynasty I liked for it's presentation and content.

Wow...i got nominated, did not see that coming. Thank you akujy. I will most likely be posting a show within the deadline, so no confusion about my nomination being valid or not is necessary. I'll have to think about my remaining nominations.

Second CV nominee (My mod nominee was nominated) - IPW: A Friend in Need by smwilliams

Raw, well written and it feels like a small time promotion run by a bunch of washed up stars. Like if Tommy Dreamer and Sandman or something decided to start a company, or something - IPW would be that company. It feels like we're back in 2005 and someone's doing a DaVE dynasty all over again. Great read.

EDIT: Also - whoa. Nominated?! That's crazy. Thanks 3rdStringPG for the nomination - totally undeserved in my opinion.

RW Mod- Golden Age- The most accurate and in-depth diary I can remember ever seeing from this era, which happpens to be right BEFORE i started watching a as a kid.

Monthly Spotlight- Nitro Episode 0- As much as I enjoy what TFC is doing, the whole WCW Lives with a new spin thing is interesting. Especially with Sting at the helm and the backstate reality tv twist
