Non-Title Match

The Hurricane and Rosey vs. World's Greatest Tag Team

Comment: Love Shelton

Rey Mysterio vs. Christian w/Trish Stratus

Comment: Christian's just turned heel, time for a push up the card. Mysterio is fodder in this match

Hardcore Holly vs. Batista w/Ric Flair

Comment: You know I'm a Holly fan, but Batista is Batista!

WWE Championship

Eddie Guerrero © vs. ??? (SmackDown's 1st draft pick)

Comment: Top of the Power 25, only a few people would have a chance to beat the Champion straight after Wrestlemania... as long as it's not Shawn Michaels, I see Eddie winning

World Heavyweight Championship

??? (RAW's final draft pick) vs. Triple H ©

Love this idea. Put both Champions against unknown opponents! Instantly welcoming their new draftees to their show. But unlike Eddie, I think Trip can take a loss here :) and it could be against either Angle or Benoit

I really enjoyed the Power 25. But DRAFTTTTTTT :D

Lita vs. Sable

Comment: I love Sable, but I love Lita more. xD

Non-Title Match

The Hurricane and Rosey vs. World's Greatest Tag Team

Comment: Newly crowned champs should win this one.

Rey Mysterio vs. Christian w/Trish Stratus

Comment: Christian for the win, though I also like Rey!

Hardcore Holly vs. Batista w/Ric Flair

Comment: Holly for a world title now! Not that i like him that much, but that 91 is something you should explore a bit more. Maybe with a bit more of overness he can do it again. Still, I doubt he will win this one.

WWE Championship

Eddie Guerrero © vs. ??? (SmackDown's 1st draft pick)

Comment: Eddie Retains. But will he sill be a SD man at this point in the show? We will see!

World Heavyweight Championship

??? (RAW's final draft pick) vs. Triple H ©

Comment: I'm guessing Trips retains, maybe even against Angle or Benoit.

So, Ive' been reading this in the last few days and it's pretty much awesome! Love this dynasty. I only have a few things to say:

Why the hell isn't HBK winning world titles? :D He deserves them!

I don't think you should not push Benoit just because of what happened. (He wasn't even himself when he did it, but let's not go there, I don't want a discussion about that. :D ) I just think that this is an alternate reality and wheather people like him or not (I do) he should not be overlooked because of something that will not happen in this alternate reality.

Also...how can you not have plans for The Rock? xD With his overness you could bolster any ppv's grades. The same with Shawn. Not using him at WM was something that hurt your final grade. Besides...Wrestlemania without a Shawm Michaels Match is like....The Vatican without a Pope....Not Cool!!!

To finish I would just like to ask....why isn't Shawn Michaels winning lots and lots of world titles? :D :D :D :D :D

Anyway, great job and keep it coming! I'm loving it.

Hey guys, crayon got back to my PM and re-upped FictionPlus so it looks like I'll be able to use it for WM after all. Figured I'd let Smasher and Frootloop know as well.

I leave New Orleans for New Jersey today and I arrive tomorrow so I'm gonna be starting the writeup as soon as possible :D

Dude, that's awesome. But i'll only be able to post my PPV when i return home...well, when i do, i'll post the things on my topic.

WrestleMania was a awesome read too. But when i return home i'll make a bigger post about it.

WWE Monday Night RAW: Monday, Week 1, April 2004

http://i.imgur.com/4KX2mQs.jpg

WWE RAWMonday, Week 1, April 2004

The opening video plays featuring the Superstars that will be on the show tonight as Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler welcome the television audience to tonight's special Draft Lottery presentation of Monday Night RAW!

The music of Eric Bischoff cuts off the announce team as he comes to the stage and settles behind one of the two podiums with a gold lottery roller next to them. SmackDown General Manager Paul Heyman comes out next, and stands next to the opposite one. Bischoff has a microphone.

Eric Bischoff: Hello everyone, and welcome to the best show on television, Monday Night RAW! Tonight is the first night of its kind in the history of the WWE, a Draft Lottery. What this means is that as RAW's GM, I am going to choose five members of the SmackDown roster to bring over to RAW, and Mr. Paul Heyman over here is going to have the same opportunity with my wrestlers. Every single person on the rosters are eligible; wrestlers, managers, commentators, you name it -- they can move to the other brand.

The crowd buzzes as Bischoff continues to elaborate.

Eric Bischoff: Now, while moving brands may be bittersweet as you may lose some friends, Paul and I have decided to make a stipulation. The first wrestler to be drafted by SmackDown will receive a WWE Championship shot right here tonight! In addition, the final RAW draftee will receive a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship tonight as well!

The crowd goes crazy, because this is going to be an epic night!

Eric Bischoff: Without further ado, RAW has received the first opportunity to pick, and here goes.

Bischoff spins the golden lottery and opens the door. He opens up the folded piece of paper and reads it aloud.

Eric Bischoff: And the first man to be drafted in the 2004 WWE Draft Lottery is .... Billy Gunn!

The camera goes backstage to the SmackDown locker room, where all of the wrestlers don blue SmackDown shirts, and Gunn stands up. He looks around, gives his friends on the brand, including Hardcore Holly, a handshake and a hug and he walks out of the locker room, where Todd Grisham waits. Grisham asks him how it feels to be drafted to RAW!

h4vJCPCs.jpg

"You know, part of it's gonna be tough because I'm gonna miss some of the guys I've been traveling with and just gotten to know since I came back from injury a couple of months ago, but with that being said I'm gonna have to bring myself over to RAW and kick some ass!"

The Draft Lottery is underway!

Lita vs. Sable

In our first interpromotional battle of the night, Lita picked up the win over Sable following a Moonsault.

RATING: 56 (C-)

Notes: 5:01.

____________________________________________

After a commercial break, we're back at the stage area with Heyman and Bischoff. It's time for SmackDown's first pick!

Paul Heyman: As Mr. Bischoff stated earlier, the first lottery pick for the SmackDown brand will have the distinction and honor to face off against Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Championship here tonight on RAW! With its first pick in the WWE Draft Lottery, SmackDown hereby welcomes...

Heyman draws his pick.

Paul Heyman: Rene Dupree!

The camera switches over to the RAW locker room where Rene Dupree looks shocked, along with his La Resistance mates Robert Conway and Sylvain Grenier. The three of them can't believe that Dupree's gone! Rene says his farewell, still shocked, and goes to talk to Josh Matthews, who asks him what he's feeling right now.

xYQ5dlPs.jpg

"It seems that I have been drafted to de SmackDown roster. And not only have I been drafted to de SmackDown roster...I have a chance to become the youngest WWE Champion in history when I destroy de champion Eddie Guerrero right here on RAW tonight!"

Michael Cole: This was a big win for SmackDown here, as the youngest superstar in the WWE moves on over to the blue brand!

Tazz: You got that right Cole, this Rene Dupree's got a bright future in the WWE, and he's gonna be part of the future of SmackDown!

RATING: 71 (B-)

Notes: None.

Backstage, Todd Grisham is with Christian and Trish Stratus. The crowd boos as they come onscreen, and Grisham asks them why they did what they did at WrestleMania.

Trish Stratus: This was never about anything that I did, Todd. I was not the one who made a bet to sleep with me. I wasn't the one who tried to use me. And I certainly was not the one who got 'screwed.' It's pretty pathetic, Chris, that you were the one spending all your time trying to screw me, but you're the one who got screwed in the end!

Christian: The bottom line here is, Chris, since this whole thing with you and Trish started, you've turned into a shell of what you once were. You were my best friend, and I think you took that for granted. The thing you didn't realize is that Trish doesn't want a love-sick puppy following her around, she wants a real man... someone like Christian. And even though we lost the tag titles, I've got an even bigger prize next to me right now!

Christian and Trish smirk and walk off.

RATING: 72 (B-)

Notes: None.

The Hurricane and Rosey vs. World's Greatest Tag Team

The Hurricane and Rosey took on the new WWE Tag Team Champions from SmackDown, who came out with their belts and all. Haas and Benjamin looked focused like we've never seen them before, as they flawlessly worked with one another to break down the RAW squad. Benjamin hit a T-Bone suplex on the Hurricane for the non-title victory.

RATING: 76 (B-)

Notes: 7:51.

____________________________________________

With Haas and Benjamin still in the ring, Eric Bischoff spins the lottery machine. The World's Greatest Tag Team starts to walk up the ramp as Bischoff pulls the name out.

Eric Bischoff: As the second selection in the Draft Lottery, I'd like to welcome to RAW its newest member... Shelton Benjamin!

Both Haas and Benjamin's eyes widen as the WWE Tag Champs are in shock! Benjamin and Haas, as well as Heyman, voice their protests as SmackDown's top team has been split up! Bischoff politely reminds them, with a victorious smirk on his face, that every single person, top to bottom in the WWE, is eligible to be drafted. He welcomes Shelton to RAW with a proud handshake, which Shelton reluctantly accepts as he looks with uncertainty toward his partner. Bischoff hands him a RAW t-shirt.

Tazz: This is a load'a crap, they can't just take our Tag Team Champion from us!

Jim Ross: Everyone's eligible, Tazz, and RAW's got Shelton Benjamin, my god!

RATING: 68 (C+)

Notes: None.

Rey Mysterio vs. Christian w/Trish Stratus

Two men who lost championship gold at WrestleMania faced off here, with Mysterio and Christian taking it to one another. Christian was able to counter Mysterio's speed throughout the match with crafty techniques of his own. As he mounted some offense, he would look at Trish on the outside and smile before hitting some of his moves. He was unable to put Mysterio away, however. Late in the match, Christian found himself disoriented, and Mysterio nailed him with a 6-1-9! With the smarts that Christian possesses, however, he was able to roll out of the ring to recover. As he got up, Trish was able to convince him to just walk to the back and live to fight another day. The crowd booed and Mysterio was disappointed as Christian walked to the back along with his new girlfriend Trish.

RATING: 79 (B)

Notes: 9:22.

____________________________________________

Both RAW and SmackDown received picks in the next segment. Eric Bischoff pulled out his third pick.

Eric Bischoff: With RAW's third selection of the draft, Eric Bischoff and RAW would like to welcome...Ernest “The Cat” Miller!

The announcers hype that Ernest Miller is a former three-time karate champion and is going to be a welcome addition to the RAW roster! Miller comes to the stage and receives his RAW t-shirt, posing for the crowd before he walks back.

Paul Heyman: Alright, alright Eric, now that you've had three picks already, I think it's time we get to the second SmackDown selection in this draft.

Heyman picks out a selection and smiles.

Paul Heyman: SmackDown's next selection is a man who has been a force in this company for almost a decade. He is a man who has been held back and misrepresented here on RAW, and a man who is going to thrive on SmackDown because Paul Heyman knows exactly how to utilize his talent. SmackDown's second selection in this draft...is “The World's Strongest Man” Mark Henry!

The camera goes back to the RAW locker room, where Mark Henry removes his RAW t-shirt, and is separated from his manager, Theodore Long. Henry walks out of the room and to the stage, where he receives a SmackDown shirt. He shakes the hand of Paul Heyman and flexes in it, staring Bischoff down as he walks to the back.

RATING: 66 (C+).

Notes: None.

After a commercial break, “Sexy Boy” hits and Shawn Michaels makes his way to the ring. The crowd boos him heavily as he walks down without his usual theatrics. He grabs a microphone and talks about WrestleMania.

LEKpexqs.jpg

“Before I come out here and talk about what happened last night at WrestleMania, I just want to apologize. Rob Van Dam, I respect you as a competitor, but I haven't been feeling myself lately. I didn't pursue any other matches at WrestleMania because there is only one thing on my mind right now. I need to prove to the world that “The Heartbreak Kid” is better than Triple H.”

The crowd gives a mixed reaction, with some buying his apology.

LEKpexqs.jpg

“The reason why I interfered in the match this Sunday for the World Heavyweight Championship is because there is only one man in this business who deserves to take what Triple H loves most. And I'm sorry, Rob, but it's not you. The only man who has the right to knock Triple H from the top by taking that title from him is “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels.”

Michaels drops the microphone, his message loud and clear. He walks out with the crowd not sure whether to cheer or boo him, instead giving him a mixed reaction.

RATING: 88 (B+)

Notes: None.

____________________________________________

As Michaels exits, Heyman and Bischoff come back out. It's time for two more SmackDown picks, as Heyman selects.

Paul Heyman: The next RAW superstar that will be stolen away by Paul Heyman's SmackDown is a man who I have extensive history with. He's a man who was an integral part in the very first ECW pay-per-view. Paul Heyman's SmackDown's next pick...is Stevie Richards!

Tazz: Great pick for SmackDown, Cole! Stevie's the kinda guy who's gonna give 110% every Thursday night!

The crowd cheers as Richards is shown in the back bidding farewell to his RAW brandmates. He comes out and Heyman hands him a shirt as the two embrace. But Heyman has another pick here. Once Richards heads back to the locker room, he removes another choice from the lottery. He grins, apparently enjoying his acquisition.

Paul Heyman: The fourth pick for Paul Heyman's SmackDown is a decorated superstar in both the WWE and WCW. He is a former...five-time...WCW Champion...Booker T!

Bischoff looks exasperated and disappointed as one of his biggest stars is headed over to SmackDown! The crowd cheers as Booker T makes his way out to shake hands with Heyman and receive his new shirt.

Michael Cole: Booker T is coming to SmackDown, Tazz! We've got a multi-time World Champion coming to Thursday nights!

Tazz: You got that right, Cole! Bookuh's one of the toughest S.O.B.s I know in this business, and it's gonna be a pleasure to watch him over on the blue brand!

RATING: 70 (C+)

Notes: None.

____________________________________________

KDs3T1j.jpg vs. icDcXGF.jpg

Hardcore Holly vs. Batista w/Ric Flair

These two hit one another hard for the entire match, and Holly was relatively successful in going blow for blow with the monster Batista. In the end, however, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair was the difference. Holly had Batista reeling, but when Flair jumped up on the apron to interfere, Holly reacted by knocking him off. He turned around into a vicious Spinebuster, followed by a Batista Bomb for the victory.

RATING: 68 (C+)

Notes: 7:20. These guys had little to no psychology in this match whatsoever.

____________________________________________

After a commercial break, the General Managers hit the stage for just one pick – RAW's fourth of five. Bischoff grabs a pick and walks back to the podium.

Eric Bischoff: Mr. Heyman, RAW has just gotten a big, powerful superstar that's gonna leave a void on Thursday nights. He's a former Intercontinental Champion, but more importantly he's a powerhouse who can beat anyone on any given night. The newest member of RAW is... A-Train!

Backstage, the brute A-Train is shown walking out to the stage and receives a RAW shirt. He removes his SmackDown one and flicks it over toward Heyman, who looks disgusted.

Jim Ross: That's a big man, that A-Train, and he's scary. He can beat up anybody in this company, and now he's on RAW!

RATING: 72 (B-)

Notes: None.

____________________________________________

In the back, Randy Orton is interviewed by Todd Grisham. He asks him what his thoughts are about possibly being drafted here tonight.

OLkjkujs.jpg

Drafted? I just had the biggest win of my career last night and you're asking how I feel about potentially getting drafted? Ask me about how it felt to defeat The Rock at the 20th anniversary of WrestleMania. Ask me how it felt to knock Mick Foley out and pin him in the middle of the ring. It doesn't matter if I get drafted or not. There's always more to learn from being with all-time greats like Triple H and Ric Flair, but if I were to get drafted to SmackDown as we speak, I would be just fine because I am a third generation superstar. Greatness is in my blood. And if I were to get drafted--”

Out of nowhere, Orton is blindsided by Mick Foley! His bitter rival attacks the brash 24-year-old (happy birthday, Randy), and Foley shows an intense side of himself we haven't seen in a while. Foley tosses Orton into everything he can find as Orton tries to retreat. Eventually, officials separate the two as Foley's eyes bulge out of his head toward his younger counterpart! Orton scurries away.

RATING: 87 (B+)

Notes: None.

After a commercial break, Heyman and Bischoff come back out for SmackDown's final pick. Heyman mixes up the selections and chooses one.

Paul Heyman: And here it is...the final RAW superstar whose career has just took a turn for the better by being drafted to Paul Heyman's SmackDown. He is one of the most unpredictable superstars in the company, and one who is feared by all. The newest member of SmackDown, please welcome...”Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner!

Steiner makes his way out and tears off his RAW shirt, accepting a handshake from Heyman. He goes over to Bischoff and talks trash to him before Heyman leads him backstage. The SmackDown main event is next!

RATING: 73 (B-)

Notes: None.

Eddie Guerrero © vs. Rene Dupree

This match was Rene Dupree's biggest opportunity of his career. Eddie Guerrero, one night off of a grueling Triple Threat match in the main event at WrestleMania, was ripe for the picking by the fresh 21-year old. Despite giving the champion a run, Dupree found himself on the short end after a Frog Splash by Guerrero, who made his first title defense in his young WWE Championship reign!

RATING: 80 (B)

Notes: 11:14.

After the final commercial break of the night, Triple H hits the ring for his title defense. The Game removes his championship belt and hands it to the referee, as the General Managers come out for the final draft selection of the Lottery. Heyman and Triple H wait impatiently as Bischoff draws a number. His eyebrows raise as he prepares to announce.

Eric Bischoff: The final pick in the 2004 WWE Draft Lottery, and the man who will face Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship right here tonight...is a former world champion in his own right, and a man who might be the hungriest to prove himself right here and right now. RAW's final draft pick...is “The Rabid Wolverine” CHRIS BENOIT!

The crowd goes ballistic as the former WWE Champion makes his way to the ring, removing his SmackDown shirt! Triple H looks somewhat worried as his challenger enters the ring and the bell sounds!

RATING: 88 (B+)

Notes: None.

Chris Benoit vs. Triple H ©

This episode's main event featured the two men who went into WrestleMania as world champions. Benoit looked extremely agitated at the fact that he lost his title, and nearly attached the Crippler Crossface twice early on on a reeling Triple H. Benoit pushed Triple H to his absolute limit in a fast fury of technical wrestling, and even when The Game was able to gain the advantage, it was not for long. Just when it looked like Benoit was going to be able to finish Triple H off, Batista hit the ring and bashed Benoit in the back for a disqualification!

With Benoit having been relatively worn down from the match, Batista picks him apart piece by piece. Evolution's enforcer puts an impressive beating on The Rabid Wolverine, as Triple H looks on. The Animal picks Benoit up for a powerful Batista Bomb! Batista and the World Heavyweight Champion stand over RAW's final draft pick as the 2004 Draft Lottery comes to a close!

WWE, take notes. This is how you book a company.

Dont make me blush now :D. Glad you're enjoying it.

What Real Mod do you use ?

The mod I'm using is Idolized's Ruthless Aggression: Jan 2004 mod. It's still only in the beta stages and there's not much going on outside the United States, but I've made a few tweaks of my own because I really wanted to work with this time period. I do hope it gets completed someday.

One of my favorite time periods is late 2004.

Stay tuned, I'm getting there :)

Hardcore Holly vs. Batista w/Ric Flair

Comment: Holly for a world title now! Not that i like him that much, but that 91 is something you should explore a bit more. Maybe with a bit more of overness he can do it again. Still, I doubt he will win this one.

Judging from his more recent ratings, it seems he's coming into Time Decline, I think that might just be a testament to Brock's talents, or maybe I just organized the show the right way or something. I was actually hoping that ended up being match of the year just for laughs :p

I wanted to have a Michaels match! Obviously, since he's Mr. WrestleMania and all. But I think he fits better into the storyline this way, since he pretty much did steal the show despite not being on it. I wanted to move away from his Christian goody-two-shoes character and turn him into a hybrid between that and his arrogant character in the past. Some middle ground I think would be best for his character.

As for Benoit, he's definitely going to be pushed (as you can tell by his title reign), I just don't know how far yet.

And don't worry, I'll figure something out for The Rock eventually. Just nothing logical at the moment. :)

Glad this diary is getting the numbers it deserves :) I'm really enjoying it so far... It's one of my favourites. I must admit, the draft seemed to be a little weak in terms of who was drafted. I was hoping for someone like Orton, Eddie, Angle, Batista... Some of those top guys switching along with Benoit and Booker would have been good. However, I feel that the draft lottery could be a big singles push for Shelton Benjamin. Someone I think could have been awesome!! Push him to the moon, and also push Renee Dupree and Billy Gunn a little :)

Thursday, Week 1, April 2004

After the Draft Lottery this past Monday on RAW, how will the dynamic of SmackDown change moving forward? And who will be the next challenger for Eddie Guerrero's WWE Championship?

Find out at 8 pm Eastern/5 pm Pacific this Thursday night on UPN!

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Shannon Moore vs. Chavo Guerrero ©

Comment: Thought this was Shannon Moore vs EDDIE Guerrero at first!! I lol'd. especially after your 'who will be the next challenger for Eddie Guerrero's WWE Championship? rhetorical question... I would NOT have guessed Shannon Moore...

Rikishi vs. The Big Show

Comment: Always liked Rikishi. but I think he's good for jobbing to bigger names at the moment

#1 Contender's Match

The APA vs. The Basham Brothers

Comment: Please! Although I'm still waiting for the arrival of JBL... maybe this will be it??

Non-Title Match

John Cena vs. Scott Steiner

Comment: Stiener bleurgh!

#1 Contender's Match

Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar

Comment: Jesus!! Angle's amazing, and so is Brock... Almost went for draw, but I'm going for Lesnar as someone Guerrero can beat and make a name for himself... OORRR... Someone who can end Guerrero's Title reign early... "/ So close to call...

As with others, I felt the draft didn't have many big changes; they were mostly shifts in the midcard, and even someone like Booker who hadn't had anything really going on as of late. That said, however, I look forward to seeing what you do with the changes you've made.

Hardcore Holly vs. Super Crazy

Comment: Holly getting his victory back after Raw.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Shannon Moore vs. Chavo Guerrero ©

Comment: No mention yet of both Guerreros holding gold?

Rikishi vs. The Big Show

Comment: Feh.

#1 Contender's Match

The APA vs. The Basham Brothers

Comment: I don't even know what to call The Bashams. I remember hearing about Doug and Damaja in OVW having such an amazing, heated feud... and then they got to the big stage and pretty much flopped. Wasted potential?

Non-Title Match

John Cena vs. Scott Steiner

Comment: Just can't see Scott stopping the train.

#1 Contender's Match

Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar

Comment: I think Angle will get his one-on-one match at the title, now that Benoit isn't there to get in his way. Save Brock vs Eddie for Summerslam or something.

<p>I was also expecting a bit more from the draft. :T Gotta say, though, I'm most curious about Benjamin going to RAW. How's that going to effect the WWE tag titles? O.o</p><p> </p><p>

Former World Champions in WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA... BUT... it's important to remember that at that time, some of them weren't big names... So your draft may look weak to some (including me) but it could be that Shelton, Renee, Gunn, Hardy, could be your future stars and future World Champions!! We're looking at it from hindsight, knowing Stamboli sucked, and Ernst Miller (whooo?) sucked, and Henry, and Stiener, and A-Train, and Richards... all pretty much sucked. but in your version of WWE in 2006, they could be pushed higher than they were... </p><p> </p><p> I'm intrigued about Shelton though. Was always a big fan of his work. If you haven't seen it, I urge everyone to try and watch Shelton vs Shawn Michaels from RAW around this time. It was a 'Gold Rush Tournament' match, and Shelton was Intercontinental Champion. I'll try find a link...</p><p> </p><p> Here's the link...</p><p> </p><p> <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O5JkOqWdnc" rel="external nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O5JkOqWdnc</a></p><p> </p><p> It was 2005 it turns out... I usually use him as that tweener, that in theory is a baby face but will go either way when needed. Something Shawn could pull off amazingly in real life. So kudos for that. Sad to see Holly might already be suffering in his matches due to time decline. Too bad.
