I'm doing O.K. just doing the typical "buy low-sell high" strategy. I don't check it every hour on the hour but I check in a few times a day. If I can make a few dollars I sell, if I see something low I buy.</p>

Not sure if that is always the case though?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> The complete opposite, he's probably talking about Lester's mission, where he informs you which stocks you should buy, but they're stocks of the opposing company (for example, if you killed Mark Zuckerberg in real life, you'd buy stock in Twitter).</p>

Had a couple more hours in during the weekend. The missions are quite cool, and I kinda like the story and the characters. It wasn't boring so far, but I'm not crazy about the game like with Skyrim when it got released. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

That might be more to do with the setting than anything though.

 

To me, GTA is a fun distraction, and 5 is a massive leap above anything they've done before. I have a lot of fun when I'm playing it. But it still doesn't grab me like Skyrim simply because fantasy worlds engage me a lot more than "real" worlds do. Swords, magic and dragons are just cooler than baseball bats, guns and cars. True story. ¬_¬ If I was going to play a game to waste some time, I'd play GTA5. If I was going to play a game because I wanted to play a game, it'd be Skyrim or EUIV (or even the Cyanide Game of Thrones game, which despite being a terrible game from almost all points of view, has a great story that I want to get to the end of. ).

 

Same thing with music. I can appreciate the artistry of a band like Pink Floyd or The Beatles or even 'good' rap music. I don't dislike listening to their music and can appreciate why people label them 'genius'; but given a choice, Blind Guardian or Amon Amarth win every time. Not because Floyd aren't a good band, but because swords, magic and dragons are cooler. ¬_¬

The run down district of Hawick in the game is a place in Scotland, there's also the BAWSAQ parody of NASDAQ which in Scotland is a slang word for scrotum. I passed a Scottish flag hanging outside one of the buildings too but can't remember which one. Those are the only ones I've come across.

So I just flew a helicopter for the first time... not sure what all the fuss was about?

 

Sure, it's not as simple as the VTOLs in Saint's Row, but it's not rocket science. Seemed perfectly functional to me.

 

L1 and R1 to turn without banking.

 

The helicopter naturally moves forward unless you pull the stick back a bit, but to go forward faster hold down R2 and push the left stick forward. Left stick forward by itself will cause you to dive, so you need to cancel it out with R2.

 

It wasn't the most fun I've had playing the game, but it wasn't too frustrating for me.

 

If you want frustration.. the mission where you've got to kill the dudes using a thermal scope. Took me forever (and almost shot Franklin 8094544543 times before noticing it was him because his dog was with him). It was a fun concept for a mission, but the second guy took me FOREVER to find.

Flying place to place is fine, there's no trouble there. But as soon as I have to try and set something down on a flatbed everything goes to hell.</p>

<p>I'm less than 40% through single player and enjoying it, although trying to extend my playing experience for as long as I can, despite being tempted to plough through most of the game ahead of GTA Online being launched later this week... I'll likely hit GTAO pretty hard when I can though.</p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of which, we're a pretty sociable bunch on GDS by general internet forum standards. I don't know whether anyone fancies making a GDS-based crew or just having a bit of a network going here so at least we can be matched up in-game in some form, but it seems like it's a mode where you'll need to work with a few people to get the most out of it.</p><p> </p><p>

I haven't been on XBL long so my friend list is pretty sparse, but feel free to add me. I'm an easy going, UK-based guy. I play a fair bit of Fifa too if anyone's into the Pro Club scene.</p><p> </p><p>
