Jack Griffith vs <strong>Steve Flash</strong></p><p>

<em>This is a tough call. I think that Griffith is actually the better (or at least safer) choice as this point because Flash is surely on time decline but I just don´t like putting your main title to new guy right away as I always feel that it kind of tells viewers that the new guy is better than anyone from the current roster.... Guess I go with Flash getting one last title run partly because I feel that Griffith is "too new" to get the title just yet and partly because it looks to me like there are more possible heel challengers than faces.</em></p><p> </p><p>

NYCW Tri-State Region Championship</p><p>

<strong>Masked Mauler ©</strong> vs Rayne Man</p><p>

<em>I could see title change here but like Griffith, Rayne Man just have the "too new" feel for me and while it isn´t as important on midcard titles, I still rather see Mauler retaining than Rayne getting the belt so soon.</em></p><p> </p><p>

NYCW Tag Team Championship</p><p>

<strong>Power Players ©</strong> vs Blue Collar Boys</p><p>

<em>Remmy is teh type of wrestler that I myself value highly but no way Blue Collar Boys get the belts at this point espesially since Power Players just won the titles themselves.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Also On the Card</p><p>

Honest Frank vs <strong>Ford Gumble</strong></p><p>

<em>I think this one depends on few things. First, is either guy on time decline list and for second, who is going to get the title. Ideally, I would go with Frank since I had Flash getting the belt, but I´m guessing that Frank is on time decline and since Gumble is more over a loss to Frank would hurt him with little gains on Frank so I go with Gumble instead. Not the ideal situation but for my experience, it´s tough to gain overness once you are on time decline so protecting whatever overness you have becomes a priority (for me) and with most of your main guys being quite old I presume that there is fairly few guys on your time decline already. </em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Ring Generals</strong> vs Money and Muscle</p><p>

<em>Overness difference is pretty big here, plus heels hold the tag belts at the moment and Ring Generals would be better challengers.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs <strong>Black Hat Bailey</strong></p><p>

<em>Yes, I likely made the wrong pick here but to me this is similar case than Gumble vs. Frank and I believe that with right opponent, Smith can get good enough rating to gain overness without hurting other guys in the progress, while Bailey certainly cannot anymore. And of course, if Flash wins the main belt then Bailey is one of the most likely challengers, while Bulldozer isn´t unless your willing to make a face vs. face match up. That said, I fully expect this to go the other way around as I might just be a bit too paranoid about this whole popularity thing. </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The New York Doll vs <strong>Sammy the Shark</strong></p><p>

<em>Again, there is an overness difference here, plus like I said, Sammy is my favorite in NYCW so I won´t go against him in a match were he actually is the more popular guy.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Whistler</strong> vs Rick Sanders</p><p>

<em>Again, more popular, both on time decline, I doubt I really need to say anything else at this point, right? </em><img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Rock Downpour: It is time to kick it old school as we welcome you to Standing Room Only!</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: You already heard Rock Downpour, but don't worry, babies. Sweet and Southern Ernie Turner is here too.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: Looks like we are going to have a new Empire champion tonight no matter what, Ernie. Roger Cage has moved on and we will see if Steve Flash can capture gold once more or if it will be Jack Griffith that will be first time Empire champion in only his second match here!</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: Southern Justice has come to New York City Wrestling and I know him well. Flash is good, but he has yet to face Jack Griffith. And while I think about it....how do you think some of those left out of the match feel?</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: I am sure there are a few unhappy individuals and I see one of them heading toward the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/o7hJ4dF.jpg</span><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/VJiMHTW.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

For someone that came out of last month's main event as a loser Honest Frank walks to the ring with a cocky swagger to his step and a grin on his face. He takes a microphone and climbs into the ring to a roar of boos. He seems cool, calm and collected as he waits for the booing to die down.</p><p> </p><p>

Honest Frank: Many of you think I would be angry right now about what happened. Angry about how I lost to Roger Cage, but you would be wrong. What I am angry about is the fact tonight it isn't the man that almost beat Roger Cage going for the title. Instead we have the man that LOST the Empire title to Roger and failed to ever recapture it the two times they had a rematch. What I am mad about is how this company doesn't appreciate me. I know there are others like me. Those who the brass don't want to see succeed. Those that they want to take a back seat to the likes of Steve Flash and Brandon Smith.</p><p> </p><p>

He pauses a moment as he just glances around the crowd. A devilish grin spreads across his face as he fights back a chuckle.</p><p> </p><p>

Honest Frank: Well it is time for a change. I refuse to sit back and be a good boy anymore. I will find those who are like me and together we will band together and remove those that you consider your heroes. Don't consider this a threat or the like. *Pause* It's just me being honest.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Honest Frank vs Ford Gumble</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Frank doesn't look like he is in the ring to mess around. He is focused and takes early control against Gumble early on. The cowboy does fight back, but Frank seems to have an answer for every time Gumble starts to get momentum. The only flaws in his execution is the need to show off a bit to the fans who boo loudly each time. The crowd gets behind Gumble who does start to fight back. He starts to get a good series of moves off in a row that has Frank reeling and falling back into a corner. It seems to in part of a trick and Frank is a bit less dazed than he lets on. He dodges a splash and Gumble staggers off the corner to be caught by Honest Frank who puts the cowboy away with a Honesty Policy.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Winner: Honest Frank</strong></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong> </strong></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>

Ernie Turner: I don't think he quite likes the fact he was left out of the main event, Rock.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: Several names were left out including Ford Gumble. You didn't hear him complaining.</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: I think all he knows how to mumble and go 'eyup'.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: Will you stop that? What I am trying to say is he will get his chance.</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: Oh he will get his chance. I don't think many will like how he gets it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sammy the Shark vs The New York Doll with Roxy Kitten</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The Doll is doing his best to impress Roxy, but it only leads to him flubbing things up and letting Sammy take control. Instead of looking impressed, Roxy is looking embarrassed by the performance of The Doll. Sammy does well not to get overconfident because as bumbling as The Doll is at times, he does get spurts of offense that derail Sammy's attack. Sammy does well to keep things mostly in control and he looks to reverse a roll up attempt by The Doll for one of his own. They are in an awkward position and Bull makes the three count. Sammy gets up to celebrate, but The Doll gets his hand raised to the surprise of everyone. The Doll scampers out of the ring to celebrate with a bewildered Roxy as Sammy gets an explanation that one of Doll's shoulders were up and both of Sammy's shoulders were down.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner: The New York Doll</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

Ernie Turner: Did that really just happen? Did Sammy lose to The New York Doll?</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: This is very heartbreaking for Sammy. He thought he had the win in his hands, but positioning says otherwise.</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: The Doll is celebrating like he just won gold. I think even Roxy can't believe what happened.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: Maybe this really will be the year of The New York Doll.</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: Weirder things have happened. Maybe you will start losing weight too.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Masked Mauler © vs Rayne Man with Cheerleader Nicki</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

It looks like Nicki has found herself a new man to cheer on from ringside as she eagerly wishes Rayne Man luck before he steps into the ring with the masked veteran. Rayne finds himself overpowered early on and the Mauler slams his opponent about and treats Rayne more like a ragdoll than a person. Rayne does well not to just lie down and take it though. He manages to get a few good reversals that surprise Mauler and get the crowd behind him. Mauler looks to panic a bit and attempts to put Rayne away a few times, but Rayne either escapes or reverses. The final reversal allows Rayne to plant Mauler head first into the ring with a double underhook DDT. The Mauler moves a bit, but fails to get kick.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner and New Tri State Regional Champion: Rayne Man</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">

Rock Downpour: We will have more than one new champion tonight it would seem. Rayne Man captures the Tri State Regional title!</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: I am at a loss for words.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: That is rare! I usually can't get you to shut up!</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: First New York Doll wins a match over Sammy and now this. I am starting to think I am in a weird dream. Then I remember I wouldn't be next to you if it were a dream.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/UqeGFGu.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage stands Bulldozer Brandon Smith. He is rubbing his hands together and looks ready for his upcoming match with Black Hat Bailey.</p><p> </p><p>

Bulldozer Brandon Smith: Next month will mark my second year anniversary. Two years that went by so fast for me. For me it has all been spent showing who I am. A man that doesn't back down. A man that takes on everyone that I am put against. Large or small, young or old, and anything in between. Am I a bit annoyed I got left out of the main event? I do to an extent, but I am still paying my dues. Steve Flash and Jack Griffith are guys that have been at it for years. This just motivates me to do better. I am not going to whine like Honest Frank. If you are watching this I will be honest with you too, Frank. Grow the hell up. Prove you get a shot like I will. Black Hat Bailey is a tough guy. I won't get cocky because he is over twenty years my senior. It just means he knows more ways to beat a kid like me. I will be Empire champ one day. I just know today isn't that day.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs Black Hat Bailey</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Bailey isn't so easily pushed around by the large and powerful Smith. He can push back pretty well himself and despite his age he manages to keep control early on. The veteran uses several tricks he has learned from his long career. Despite this, the youth and power of Smith starts to be too much. Brandon fights back and shows his power by hefting Bailey up onto his shoulders and nailing a Samoan drop. Bailey is eventually lifted and sent into the ropes. He bounces off only to eat a spear from Smith who easily picks up the pin after that.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: Bailey is a tough customer, but Brandon Smith is just that much tougher.</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: Picking on an old man like that. I have half a mind to unretired and teach Brandon Smith a lesson.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: I would pay to see that.</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: It is a good thing I like this position too much to give it up. Brandon Smith is safe this time.</p><p> </p><p>

The Power Players come to the ring with Isabella leading the two large men with a big smile on her face. She allows the two to help her into the ring and soon Brody brings her a microphone.</p><p> </p><p>

Isabella Encanta: So my boys show how good they are by winning the tag team titles in their first match and our first challengers are....two guys it looks like they got off the street and some harlot prancing about to cheer them on? I feel that we are being made fun of, but we will play along for now. Let it be known we want a real challenge after we take care of business here. My boys want to show just how good they are.</p><p> </p><p>

The grubby looking Brody is just scratching at his unkempt hair and looking uninterested at what Isabella has to say, while Steel seems to be having more fun flexing and showing off to the crowd. Isabella lightly smacks at each one to get their attention.</p><p> </p><p>

Isabella Encanta: Boys, be sure to teach these two a lesson once they get in the ring!</p><p> </p><p>

Isabella takes their titles and exits the ring as both men eagerly await their opponents.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Power Players © with Isabella Encanta vs Blue Collar Boys with Dharma Gregg</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Blue Collar Boys try their best, but it just isn't good enough. Power Players are just too strong and dominate their opponents with ease. Queen is dumped early and while he is recovering outside he finds Brody launching himself outside over the ropes and on top of the already dazed rookie. Honeyman is left in the ring with Steel who just completely dominates. He lifts Honeyman high over his head and hefts him up and down a few times before dropping him to the mat. Honeyman is hefted up one last time and gets locked into a torture rack and he is soon tapping.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rick Sanders vs Whistler</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The two veterans lock up and it turns into Rick's technical skills against the rough and tumble style of Whistler. Rick does well to keep Whistler on the ground where he is much likely to cause less trouble, but when the fans start to chant 'U S A!' loudly it seems to invigorate Whistler. The big man fights back and starts taking Rick down with several big hits and slams. He finally sets himself up in the corner and then launches forward towards the wobbly Sanders. A big flying shoulder tackle takes out Rick and allows Whistler to get the win.</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: I never get it. Why chant USA when one of them isn't from another country?</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: It has nothing to do with that. Whistler is a patriotic man and hearing the fans chant gives him energy!</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: That's stupid, they are stupid and most of all you are stupid for believing that.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: You are in your own little world and would never understand.</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: I will stay there if it means not being made dumber!</p><p> </p><p>

In the back area stands Jack Griffith who is idly finishing up taping one of his hands. He looks at each hand for a moment as if reflecting on something and he slowly looks up at the camera.</p><p> </p><p>

Jack Griffith: I am not a man that has traveled the easy path in life. I have been through the darkness and came out a changed man. Is it for the better? No, I would never say that. The life lessons I have learned are much different than those of Steve Flash. In a way he is everything I am not. Do I hate him for that? Maybe....maybe a little.</p><p> </p><p>

He falls silent again and he runs a hand through his shaggy hair and he looks upwards. It is almost like he has forgotten the camera is there at this point.</p><p> </p><p>

Jack Griffith: This title in a way could be my redemption. It has been so long since I felt that familiar weight around my waist. The crowd no longer cheers me and really....that makes me feel good. I am no hero nor do I want to be one. Steve....I want you to be prepared. Give me your all because tonight you will experience some Southern Justice.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Ring Generals vs Money and Muscle</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The Ring Generals start off hot and manage to get both members of Money and Muscle to scatter out of the ring and regroup. The match ends up a bit back and forth once Michael Bull manages to get things under control and Harper ends up getting Dean trapped in Money and Muscle's corner. The Ring Generals start with a comeback and things are looking good as Honest Frank starts to make his way to the ring. He seems to watch with interest up until things start to get chaotic again. Statler is sent out of the ring with Harper and the two are brawling there. Bull gets a bit distracted trying to get them to break up that Waldorf and Trescarde are left unattended. Dean is rolling as Frank makes a move. He slides Trescarde's briefcase in the ring and starts to try and get in. Bull notices the latter and goes to try and stop Frank as Waldorf does the same. It allows Trescarde to get the case and slam it over Dean's head while Bull is distracted. Monty quickly covers after sliding his case out of the ring and Statler is too late to save his partner.</p><p> </p><p>

The case ends up in Frank's hands and he hands it back to Trescarde while giving a knowing smile. Marv argues with Michael Bull about what was going on as Money and Muscle celebrate.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: Now what was that? Honest Frank had no reason to be down there.</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: This night is just full of surprises. What a big win for Money and Muscle.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: A tainted win! I hope Honest Frank is happy with himself.</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: I am sure he won't be losing any sleep over what happened.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/eyYr9Xl.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Steve Flash comes out to loud cheers from the crowd. He smiles and gives hi-fives out as he makes his way to the ring. He gets himself a microphone once at ringside and after playing to the crowd for a bit longer he finally speaks.</p><p> </p><p>

Steve Flash: Like many of you I was sad to see Roger Cage go. We all have to move on eventually and Roger had to decide what was best for him. I am honored to be in this next match and get another chance to hold the Empire championship. At my age I sometimes wonder if something like this will be my last hurrah, but I assure you I am still a spry young man even if my age says otherwise. Even if I can't win tonight I promise you this won't be the last time you see me as a champion. Jack Griffith, good luck! Let's show them what old men like us can still do!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Steve Flash vs Jack Griffith</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Both men are looking like they have something to prove. Steve is going all out and doesn't look at all like a man that is approaching fifty. Jack is giving it his all and showing that despite his past he is worthy of being in this match. The crowd is in turn is electric as both men clash. It is a major back and forth affair as neither man can seem to keep control of the match for much longer than a few minutes. Just when it looks like Steve has the match in hand, Jack manages to break out a surprise move that throws the elder competitor off his game. Likewise Steve seems to soon find an answer to whatever Jack throws at him. Neither man seems to be slowed down as the match goes on either. They start exchanging pinfalls and the crowd is in a frenzy. Flash tries a Flash Kick to finally up Jack away, but it gets ducked. Jack quickly gets behind Steve and nails a German suplex. He quickly hefts Steve up after that and nails him with the Southern Cross(Razor's Edge) and tiredly falls on Steve afterwards. The crowd is shocked as Steve does not kick out.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: I am speechless. Not about who won, but the match itself!</p><p> </p><p>

Ernie Turner: You aren't speechless because you are talking, but I knew Jack could win this. I hope New York is ready for some Southern Justice, because they will be having a huge dose of it in the future.</p><p> </p><p>

Rock Downpour: I really don't know what else to say everyone. It has been a wild night capped off with an amazing match between two veterans. Good night everyone! We will see you next month as New York City Presents Running Wild!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Final Rating: C-</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/o7hJ4dF.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

First of all is I am rather humbled by all the people that did predictions on this. I am not going to be much more sappy beyond just saying thank you to all that are reading.</p><p> </p><p>

Secondly I was really happy with the grades here. I know the tag title match was going to be the low one again and a few could be a bit worse since I had to adjust notes to make sure everyone was happy with the results. Obviously very pleased with the C+ rating as well for the main event. I was hoping they would manage a C so anything beyond that obviously makes me happy. May could have been higher, but Steve's momentum isn't the greatest at the start. Looking forward to see what these can do next time. Some news stories to come later. Hope you enjoyed!</p>

It has only been two months into the tenure of Michael Bull as booker and already it is apparent given all the current champions are men he has brought in. Some might think there could be dissent among the workers that have been with the company longer, but it seems that all is well for the time being. It is understood that some title changes were last minute ones and if Roger Cage remained we might still see both him and The Masked Mauler with their respective titles.</p><p> </p><p>

How long will the titles stay on their current owners remains to be seen, but it is viewed as a way to get fresh faces more attention and see if the fans take to them since established names will draw if they have a title or not. For now at least they will have more proper time to decide on title changes or not. Names like Rayne Man and Jack Griffith are great for a company like NYCW, but aren't big enough there should be a worry they lose yet another champion to a larger company like SWF.</p><p> </p><p>

Michael Bull has recently in an interview revealed there will be a tournament at some point this year named The King of New York. The idea will be eight men being selected for the tournament either by past performance or qualifying matches and competing in a single elimination format until one man is left at the end of the night. The winner will be declared King of New York and will have bragging rites as well as instant qualification for next years tournament if they choose. There is also the chance some outside entrants could appear given NYCW being a member of the COTT alliance. No date has been announced, but it seems more than likely it will be sometime later in the year so not to be too close to Gang Wars which happens in July.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>1. The KoNY tournament should be standard in all NYCW games. </p><p> </p><p>

2. Honest Frank stable!</p><p> </p><p>

3. New York Doll accidentally winning is great!</p><p> </p><p>

4. In terms of match grades, JG winning the belt may not be ideal, but a southerner with a New York belt just writes the storylines itself. And I mark out for Southern Justice. </p><p> </p><p>

5. Not sold on Rayne Man as champ. I'll keep my eye on that. </p><p> </p><p>

Great show! Excited to see what's next!</p>
